Ahoy my beloved crew!!  Here we are again drifting off into the unknown waters of the atlantic ocean just east of….well…. who knows I’m drunk… catch up with this cocktail to help aid you from our previous heat wave and hurricane depression.  Aye!  

  TODAYS COCKTAIL:::  The Perfect Hurricane (Tropical, Fruity, Rummy)

  Ingredients::

  2 ounces light rum

2 ounces dark rum

2 ounces passion fruit juice

1 ounce orange juice

Juice of a half a lime

1 tablespoon simple syrup

1 tablespoon grenadine

Orange slice and cherry for garnish

  Here is what we do crew!  Squeeze juice from half a lime into a cocktail shaker over ice, pour the remaining ingredients into the cocktail shaker.  Shake well.  Strain into a glass of your choice that mostly resembles a god damn hurricane.  Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.  BOOM!!!  Have a couple!!

  Feeling fuzzy… yeah?  Are you?  Don’t you lie to your captain.  Stumble the line… perfect!!  WELCOME ABOARD!!!!

  Quiet down now you inebriated messes!  I have something to talk about. The band Fofoulah have set sail toward an original sound, and we are out to pirate their ship.  Fofoulah blends genres from different cultures to create a sound unique to the UK music scene.  The voice of the band being Senegalese grooving alongside west african rhythms and splashes of other african based textures like dub bass lines, sci-fi synths etc. Their previous EP Bene Bop EP was recorded very well, giving you a good understanding of the poly-rhythm driven sound.  They have a new record coming out tomorrow September 19th titled Fofoulah.  I was able to stream it through a private blog I visit from time to time.  It’s definitely a different step for the six piece, allowing frontman Batch Gueye to really let loose and experiment with more singing style and character, sometimes singing in lower keys from Bene Bop yet executed so well.
