For just $22.00 This is a vintage art deco chrome candy/nut dish with glass insert made by Chase Brass and Copper Company and was introduced during the 1930s. This is a fine example of the Moderne style created by leading designers of that era. The chrome finish is on a brass base. The insert is clear glass with a white frosted finish applied to the outside of the insert. The handle is attached to the base by two round screws. In order to remove the glass insert , the handle is disengaged by unscrewing the two round nuts. The insert then is easily removed for cleaning (photo 5). Dimensions: -height with handle is 4 3/4 inches (12 cm) -diameter of the dish is 5 1/2 inches (15 cm) -height of dish only is 1 1/8 inches (3 cm) The condition is vintage good with no breaks or dents. There is some minor scuffing along the sides appropriate for its vintage status. The bottom has considerable heavy wear marks which almost obliterates the distinctive company logo of a centaur drawing a bow (photo 4). The island was designed in the Chanley Door in Tundra. The book cases by the fireplaces were also designed in the Chanley Door in Tundra. For this job we also provided the flooring which is the Soleras – Avana Rectified by Cactus Stone & Tile.
