Oh, huh, pokeballs are mostly aluminum here

You see, some of them are here as well. But some manufacturers, not naming names, make some that are uniquely frustrating and cheap. There’s a reason we stopped making balls out of glass and moved to metal and apricorn. There’s no fucking reason use plastic other than the price of the material.

My personal suggestion is to support apriball carvers. They’re very good at what they do, and each ball is unique, as well as durable. They’re very much worth the money.

When you duo arrived at the small bar, you each took one side of a booth. Kenma quickly stood up again, offering to buy two beers. "Thanks, Kyanma," you said, using a silly nickname that made said man look over his shoulder with a surprisingly soft glare.

The seat beside you dipped a minute later, and you looked over to see a guy named Kuroo Tetsuro, an acquaintance of yours. "Hey! Y/n, right?" His aura immediately lit up the room.

"Indeed. How are you, Tetsu?" You immediately started the small talk. Facing each other on the same seat, you talked like you knew each other much better than you did.

"I'm great! Are you here alone?" He tilted his head in question, gesturing to the seat across from you where Kenma’s bag stood. Kuroo did a double-take, recognising the bag with a little Pokeball keychain on the zipper. Not even a second after he realised who it belonged to, Kenma walked up to the table with a glass of beer in each hand. You only observed wide-eyed when you couldn't read what Kuroo was thinking. "Kyaaanma!"

When Kuroo yelled, sounding happy to see him, Kenma tripped slightly and spilt some beer on the floor before steadying the two cups. He looked up, confusion switching to timid annoyance. "Kuroo," Kenma responded, not nearly as loudly. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing," Kuroo answered with raised eyebrows, looking from his friend to you and back. Kenma sat down with his head hanging low so that his friend wouldn't notice the blush that exploded on his cheeks. He slid one beer to you, and you took it gratefully.

"Thanks! How do you know each other?" you asked, noting that Kenma seemed less than happy to see the charismatic man who sat beside you and you wouldn't have imagined that they hung out.

"Best friends, knowing how you two know each other is much more interesting."

"We studied together in the library and decided to get a drink." You kept the explanation short. Surely he didn't need to know about your sweet conversations and stolen glances.

Kuroo nodded weirdly as if he wanted to say something he couldn't. "You were ready to go back to bed from the second you woke up today, Ken. What happened?"

Kenma knew he couldn't stop himself from answering, but he also couldn't admit that you had any influence on him. "The beer here is cheaper, and I fancied a beer," he stated, keeping it simple.

"Okay, I see." Kuroo was, unfortunately for Kenma, terrible at hiding his emotions. "I won't interrupt your rendezvous then; See you both another day!" He smiled from Kenma and back to you, wiggling his eyebrows for emphasis, and walked away after you bid him goodbye. Kenma kept thinking, is this a rendezvous? But defining it fell to the back of his mind when you started telling him a funny story about something you did with a friend the other day.

Kuroo was impressed because this woman somehow had Kenma smiling warmly every time he looked over at you two. His best friend looked at you like he didn't necessarily want to go home and sleep just yet.

After you downed at least two beers each, the conversations became weirder and weirder. Everything from giraffes being tall horses to worrying about the environment was on the table. "I just don't think our generation will ever be able to make up for it anyway, no matter the efforts we make," Kenma said holding up his new drink and keeping a serious face.

"Not with that attitude, we won't," you answered, grinning at how clever you thought you were. Several hours had gone by, and you didn't grow tired of each other at all. It was almost like you were on the same wavelength. Kuroo had made his way home a while ago after telling you not to do anything he would do. That won't be a problem; you have way too much energy for me to copy anything you do, Kenma answered him.

"I'm telling you too much," the man mumbled into his glass as he took another sip, smiling and thinking about how he didn't mind it at all.

"You're smiling too much as well. It's crazy." You understood what kind of person Kenma was, and somehow managed to say exactly the right things to keep him interested.

"It's all intentional. I have you exactly where I want you," he said, voice a little raspy and teasing as a tiny smirk fell on his face. You fought your own body to stay in your seat, instead of leaning all the way over the table.

"Oh, you do? Then why are your cheeks so warm, kitten?"

"Don't call me kitten. I'm too cool."

"Cool guys aren't always good guys, though." It looked like there was something more behind your words, making Kenma want to learn more about you. Learn everything.

"Well, I'm not a particularly good guy," his answer was serious, but his eyes were warm and welcoming to you.

"I feel like there is a little kitten in you, Kenma," you argued, voice weirdly serious aside from the hint of teasing.

"You haven't unlocked that level yet."

"Challenge accepted."

"How about you? Is there a little lion in you, y/n?"

"Let's just say I'm not exactly a good girl," you smirked, somehow still looking sweet and soft to Kenma, and he answered with an amused smile.

"Challenge accepted."

Since Porygon can move between the material and digital worlds with relative ease, could I possibly send one into a video game, and bring back cool stuff? I know this probably sounds like a stupid question with an easy answer, but I'm serious about this. The glass armor and weapons from Morrowind would look really cool in my study.

unfortunately that's not how this works. porygon can inject itself into a computer system, but it can't turn wholly code items into physical objects. the only way a porygon could move an item from a digital form to a physical form is if it's an item we've already learned how to digitize, like a potion or pokeball.

i'm sure there's somebody out there who you could buy replicas of these items from, though.

Pokemon oc : Atmet !

He is my new OC and I want to do stuff with him because I like drawimg this goofy man (I'll use color code for you to understand what I'm talking about lol)

His relation with his brother Pedro :

He ran away to Unova, thanks to his savings ,with his brother when he was 27 and Pedro 12 to save him from their father abuse.

He unfortunately didn't go to court for that and it was technically illegal.

When Pedro left after being groomed into the Team Plasma cult , Atmet couldn't do anything legally as Pedro refused to follow him again.

He then had to flee Unova after being almost arrested for fraud. He tried to contact Pedro almost every day , but no letters ever made it to him.

He managed to find him again years later , when Pedro was 28 .

Team Plasma was making itself known .

Pedro told him to never contact him again if he wasn't willing to join the team and that his family was Plasma and nothing else. Atmet really felt like utter shit after that. He met him one last time after the fall of Plasma.

Atmet told him that he wasn't ever mad at him and that he always had a room for him whenever he goes , Pedro said he would be following Ghetsis and that if Atmet tried to stop him one more time , he might take the matter in his own hands.

Atmet had to leave , knowing the threat was real. He still send letters to his brother every now and then , knowing he might never receive them.

-His first ever pokémon was a Cleffa that he found in Galar during the only school trip he had in another region. He sneaked him into the bus , the hotel and stole a pokeball from a store to catch it once they bonded a bit. His teachers had no idea until he brought it home and his father asked them where he got the "pink shit".

-He caught Lunatone in Kalos when he was around 14. He also got a Solrock that he kept in his party for years.

-He found his Shiny Elgyem on the fourth year of his studies on the Desert Resort. He cried so much of happiness he almost missed the catch.

-He stayed in Hoenn for 3 years to be able to photograph a Rayquaza and maybe see Jirachi and learn more about Deoxys. He found a rain form Castform and thought it was adorable so he caught it

-During his trip in Kanto , he bought a sick Starmie at a low price and brought it back to health. He still decided to catch a Staryu to study the evolution line later.

-During a temporary stay in Alola , he discovered the Poké Pelago . He decided it was time to put his Solrock on the islands. He was pretty content to see how happy it looked .

-He definitely moved to Alola and fell in love with Miniors , they quickly became his favorite pokemon of all time. He wasn't yet informed much and bonded with a yellow core Minior for some time until its rocky coat broke and it died. Atmet was devastated.

-His new goal , beside studying space pokemon and extra-dimensional creature at some point , was to find a way to keep the miniors alive even after the shattering of their shell.

-He collaborated with many scientist from the Aether Foundation to adapt luxury ball into transparent balls for his new Minior.

-He met Colress and grew very fond of him , even more so when he offered him a Shiny Minior.

-When he was in Kalos , he made a little detour to Mt Moon to let his Clefairy vibe.

-He choose his name by contracting Atmosphere and Meteor. Yes it is an AWFUL way of naming oneself.

-He caught a Gothita to study its whole evolutionary line and was flabbergasted to see how bad the legs of Gothitelle looked.

-He takes a lot of migraine medication because his Beheeyem kept the old habit of trying to squeeze his brain every time it's slightly inconvenienced.

-His glasses are often used as a way to watch the sky , and the stars while being on the beach without getting his eyes assaulted by sand.

any tips for prepping for shedinja care??? looking to evolve my nincada (ive got pokeball spares & plenty of backyard space + bug-safe interior!!) and im finding lots of care details for ninjask, which is super useful ofc, but it feels like every article on shedinja by itself is just about how weird or scary it is :((

first off. BABYPROOF YOUR HOUSE. don't let it near any open flames, no broken glass, put rugs over stone floors, little bumpers on your dinner table corners. you get it. shedinja is a tissue paper pokémon, but are very sweet if you can take care of them properly. i've heard other people fare well giving their shedinja safety goggles so they can still be taken outside without a stiff breeze hospitalizing them

I was sitting on this ask for a while because I wasn't sure whether to judge his actual characteristics or his actual stats/likes/dislikes.

Like, he doesn't exactly have great Defense or HP or Attack, and his Speed is mid. He could be Adamant, but then his Special Attack (which throwing balms/Pokeballs could count as) would be low, or he could be Brave or maybe Modest, but he likes Sweet and Spicy foods. His characteristic could be Strong willed, but he famously doesn't have great defenses.

(What classification IS he, anyways? A glass cannon, maybe? In Miitopia he's a mage and he'd be a Pawmi in any new PMD, definitely a ranged attacker at the very least. And considering how often he's dealing with Lysandre, his Special Attack should be high, I think.)

I was leaning towards Adamant with the characteristic Often lost in thought, but that doesn't make sense since his Sp.A. would be down 10% but also still somehow be the highest stat he has.

Final answer: Hardy + Often lost in thought, OR if we're going for more interesting stats, Modest + Often lost in thought.

Some comparisons of the “Disney girls if they were the player character in a pokemon game” designs, the earliest being from 2012.

Snow White - hasn’t changed much from the initial idea. For the most recent version aside from the improved colours (which really goes for all of these) I made the pocket a bit more sensible in size and less bland with the logo and changed the sleeves into something a little less costume-y looking. And apparently I had never bothered to check what her eye colour is supposed to be before?

Cinderella - I think the first one is way too tomboyish for Cinderella so it was a good idea to give her a skirt instead. And stop trying to copy the hairstyle as is, how is it supposed to work anyway? The most recent version is supposed to be wearing see-through plastic sneakers which was the closest equivalent of a glass slipper I could think of, but I don’t think you can see that well enough from this far.

Alice - I also like the original idea but it does look a bit too much like a costume. The more recent version is one of my favourites of the set, both with the design and how the art turned out overall.

Tinkerbell - I remember being dissatisfied with the first version (mostly for being boring) and thought I should have given her shorts instead, so here is that now. The top could still use some work though.

Aurora - She feels like she’s incrementally getting towards my ideal design but isn’t there quite yet. I probably should have done more with the half pink-half blue thing.

Eilonwy - not a lot to work with about her, though what is up with the shoes on the middle one?

Ariel - I don’t know what I was thinking with the turtleneck in the middle one, it’s supposed to be a warm weather design. Though to be fair sandals would be a better fit for that, but I like the stockings to represent her tail. Also apparently I got obscenely lazy with the shoes with the most recent one.

Belle - has barely changed at all, I remember being very happy with the initial design. Though now that I think about it the bag probably should use a different shade of blue. I’ve also done an earlier design with the yellow dress, but it’s so monochrome that it’s a bit hard to work with it.

Jasmine - I clearly wasn’t even trying with the first design, it’s just her canon outfit with very minor tweaks and a pokeball, and the second one isn’t any better. But to me Jasmine had one of the biggest glow ups with the most recent design and the art turned out cute as well.

Pocahontas - I really like the pants and would have liked to use them again, but then I thought, “is this problematic”, and ended up not using the tassel fringe thing. Overall she was a huge struggle and I’m not happy with the result at all, Pocahontas’ canon design has a lot of elements to work with, but I tried so many versions of one sleeved/one sleeve off the shoulder/layered tops and they all looked like a dancer or a figure skater. And I also attempted a tunic-like design like Yellow but that just looked like a LoZ oc. So this design is definitely subject to change if I redo everyone again in ten years. At least her face turned out cute..

Esmeralda - Another mess in both attempts, her canon design also has a lot of interesting details but somehow the best I could do with ended up being a schoolgirl? In my defense she was among the last characters I drew for this set and at that point I was just burnt out and ready to move to something else, so it was either this or not being drawn at all. Better luck next time!

Megara - the first attempt is pretty random and lazy and I don’t like it at all, but I do like how the second one turned out. Overall it does skew a bit too young though especially for a character like Megara, but she’s a kid here so maybe it’s ok?

Mulan - she is my favourite Disney heroine so it’s always frustrated me that I had never been able to really get the Poke design to work. But this time it somehow clicked that I could take inspiration from the male protagonists instead. I think the details could still do some workshopping but overall I like the result this time around.

Jane - the first one isn’t a Poketrainer at all, it’s just a jungle explorer anime girl. Though I guess there’s not much change in the second one either...

Kida - this has always been somewhat of a “just throw random ideas in there” kind of design and especially the first one I clearly had no idea what I was doing. In the most recent version I think the decision to move the mark to her hat was the best update, a facial tattoo on the supposed average kid feels kind of strange. 

Giselle - I really like the most recent one, it’s one of the most dynamic poses and I think it has a nice balance of “fine lady” and “going on a Pokemon adventure”. Not sure if any of them are properly recognisable as Giselle though.

Tiana - as you can see I have no idea what to do with her. I don’t know what’s wrong, there’s so much to work with her canon design but nothing ever works out properly. Many of my ideas, like poofy pants (because of the dress shape) also felt too kiddy and so out of character for Tiana who is at the more mature end of Disney princesses. Still, with the most recent attempt there is a lot I like, but somehow it doesn’t quite fit together and I now notice that repeating the flower shape everywhere is pretty awkward. Sorry Tiana! Maybe fourth time is the charm.

Charlotte - the first attempts feel too much like a formal party outfit instead of something for an adventure, so I had to lose the updo at least. The hat is a little silly but I figured it would fit the goofier Charlotte. I do like the bubble skirt (one of the abandoned Tiana ideas) but the top could still use some work.

Rapunzel - very pleased with how the most recent one turned out apart from the hair looking a little too brown, it’s supposed to be just shading and not two-tone hair. 

Merida - I’ve never figured out how to do her hair in Pokemon form and her canon dress is pretty stingy with workable details. I got the idea of using plaid from Sword/Shield, but I noticed everyone and their mother already drew Merida in a plaid shirt so I put it on her shorts instead. But in hindsight maybe I should have just gone with the flow.

Vanellope - her design is really fun to work with and the result is one of my favourites. With the newer version I realised that I tend to use white a lot when I don’t know what to do, which usually is at least inoffensive, but that there could be a more interesting option if I dare to try something else (talking about the socks here).

Anna - quite pleased with how the new version turned out but it could still do with some work, what was I thinking with black boots and almost-black tights? 

Elsa - I really like how the cardigan thing turned out, except for the fact that I realised I had already used practically the same thing for Aurora (but hers is more boring so it’s the one subject to change). Meanwhile the dress is pretty bland. The leggings use the ice type uniform design from Sword/Shield.

Moana - Another victim of the “I have to churn out something” project finale. I think I already had this queued and had to go back to doing at least some fixes because the initial version was somehow even more boring. I think the loose pants idea is very workable but she’ll just need more time and effort.

Raya, Mirabel - they’re too recent to have a comparison but let’s have a few words on them anyway. I just couldn’t get anything out of Raya’s design (though she was one of the last characters  to be drawn and also I really don’t like her movie so I was very much not in a mood to try very hard) so the result ended up pretty boring and definitely waiting for a redesign. As for Mirabel I like her look a lot more and especially the skirt practically designed itself, but this still kinda feels like a first draft.
