Also I just got the Magic Void knife, the Outsider immediately appeared to Billie, who proceeded to point a judgemental finger at the powerful deity who casually maimed her last time they talked, and say "Give that back, I've got no time for this" in her most severe tone. Billie. Treating the the Outsider as a capricious 5 years old. Which he kinda is. I love her your honor.

Special mention to Daud for being dramatic about his life being behind him etc, and then just dying offscreen while I rob a bank. Woops. Sorry Daud no melodramatic death for you. You just got old, decided all your mistakes were someone else's fault and died alone because you sent the only person who could have been there with you to steal a weapon. Not sure I like Old Daud but I gotta say he was very credible.

As Loki tried to slip into his seat at the grand table, Thor's massive arms suddenly enveloped him in a tight, inescapable bear hug. Thor, the God of Thunder, lifted Loki off the ground and squeezed him tight, a hearty laugh booming from his chest.

"Ah, there you are! I was wondering if you were ever going to show up." Thor's voice was loud, and his grip unyielding as he pulled Loki into an affectionate embrace. "C'mon, little brother, give me a hug."

He was hoping to arrive without a disturbance, already being quite late to the feast.

His brother thought otherwise as he was suddenly lifted. Asgardians stare as Loki gives a sound akin to a strangled cat.

“Thor!” He manages to yelp, as he’s tightly hugged. His bone breaking hugs haven’t changed, and Loki won’t ever say it but he missed it. He missed his brother, after all this time.

i feel like people are skimming over the uk riots in a way that makes me want to tear my hair out. muslims in the uk are in active danger. immigrants in the uk are in active danger. refugees in the uk are in active danger. people of colour in the uk are in active danger. asian communities in the uk are in active danger. black communities in the uk are in active danger.

there are massive far right riots throughout the country right now and people like fucking elon musk and nigel farage are inciting it and still have a platform to speak. people have used three young girls deaths, people's genuine grief in southport, to try and gain traction for their own racist bullshit and it's working.

a lot of refugee charities have been forced to close leaving many people without support, homes, funding, food, etc. if you aren't able to donate please consider sending a message via the conversation over borders campaign! it will send a hopeful, welcoming letter to a refugee in the uk. there is also a guide to staying safe here.

please do your own research and donate to refugee charities, anti-islamophobia charities, mosques who are trying to rebuild after being destroyed, counter protesters, here are some i've heard positive things about but the list is extensive; southport strong together (support for the southport victims and their families), southport mosque rebuilding, riot repair fund, middlesbrough vulnerable residents, nasir mosque rebuilding, hull help for refugees, bristol welcomes migrants,

Sometimes you just have one of those moments where the progress we've made as a culture get thrown into stark relief. You look at something and go "Holy shit, that would never have happened when I was a kid."

Today, I had one of those moments when I realized that the teenage boys I'm working with are just. genuinely, openly enthusiastic about going to Build-a-Bear for their outing.

These are sixteen and seventeen year old boys! They just had a whole conversation about what to name their "cute", mostly new squishmallows! They're genuinely excited that they're going to Build-a-Bear this weekend and asking other kids to pick up specific accessories for them!!

Holy shit, that never would've happened when I was 16. None of the boys would have dared to be visibly interested - and neither would most of the girls! There would have been a million gay jokes and "Haha, you're a girl" jokes and "What are you, a baby?" jokes. Teenagers weren't even supposed to care about anything back then!

Less than 15 years later, and I'm watching three 17 year old boys treat all that as not even worthy of comment.

So let's call that a reason for hope. Even when the kids aren't alright, in some ways apparently they are alright. Go Gen Z, honestly. It's so lovely to watch you guys just openly doing and saying stuff that, when I was a teen, would've been a social death sentence.

Also, some people may not even regard everything listed above as flaws.

Having negative traits allows incredible flexibility within your characters, what makes them intriguing, what makes them easy to relate to. If you want to write people, then write people. But they can’t be good and clean all the time.
