Usuwanie niewidzialnej wycieraczki

Przed wyjazdem na urlop zaaplikowałem na przednią szybę niewidzialną wycieraczkę Ultra Glaco od Soft99. Nie powiem - trochę działała, było fajnie. Ale chyba coś nie za dobrze ją nałożyłem, bo po jakimś czasie zaczęły skakać mi wycieraczki. A to już bardzo, ale to bardzo wyprowadziło mnie z równowagi i dlatego postanowiłem się jej pozbyć. Nie pomogły patenty które mówią, że wystarczy niewidzialną wycieraczką posmarować pióra wycieraczek i będzie okay. No cóż. Nie będzie. To nie działa. Wycieraczki po jakimś czasie znowu zaczną skakać po szybie. Dlatego zmuszony byłem się jej pozbyć. Niestety nie jest to taka łatwa sprawa żeby pozbyć się tego syfu z szyby. Zapomnijcie o jakiś płynach do mycia szyb, rozpuszczalnikach, czy alkoholu izopropylowym. Nic z tych rzeczy jej nie ruszy. Tutaj trzeba użyć specjalnych środków do polerowania szkła. Ja kupiłem preparat Autoglym Car Glass Polish. Po jednym czyszczeniu jest już spora różnica, ale nie jest idealnie. Zabieg trzeba będzie powtórzyć. W dodatku najlepiej jest założyć nowe wycieraczki, co też oczywiście uczyniłem. A szkoda, bo dopiero co założyłem nowiuteńkie Bosche.

Dragon Quest VI: Fish Hitmen

Circe here! So I ended up taking a bit of a break from Dragon Quest. I think I might be hitting a point where it's hard to continue on through game after game when they bear a lot of similiarities...but fortunately, that won't be a problem for much longer. I just gotta tough it out through DQ6 and we can finally start doing spinoff games.

Since it's been a while since I played and I'm relying on my notes, plus I've been relying more on guides, my memory of exactly *how* I found each place might get a bit thin here. The important thing is, I found a fishing village called Pescani, which isn't doing too well. It seems that their best fisherman, a man named Rob, was injured by a monster, and the village hasn't had much fish since then. With a bit of poking around, we discover that there's a mermaid hiding in a nearby cave, and also that Rob has been acting suspiciously lately. If you wander around the village enough, you can eventually trigger an event where Rob will walk from his house into the cave. The cave goes a good ways in, and, frustratingly, you actually have to keep out of sight so Rob doesn't spot you, or else he'll go back home and you'll have to start over. I'm unusually tolerant of surprise stealth sections in non-stealth video games, but even for me this seemed annoying and unnecessary.

In any case, when you succeed in following Rob, you discover a hidden alcove where Rob is meeting with the aforementioned mermaid, named Danae. It appears that she was stranded in this cave, since the monsters out in the open ocean are so dangerous, and she and Rob have fallen in love. Rob insists that you keep quiet about her, because...well, I can't remember exactly, are the villagers bigoted against mermaids? I guess she just doesn't trust humans, mainly. However, eventually we come upon the idea of using our ship to escort Danae back to her friends. She and Rob have a sad moment, but ultimately they decide it's for the best that she not be stranded in this little cave.

The next area is a bit hard to track down, and I hope you're ready for that to be a running theme. Which I'm sure it's a shock considering it's also been a running theme in every other game we've played since Dragon Quest 2. Eventually I find the channel where the other mermaids live, far to the northeast. The mermaids give us a magic harp, which allows us to call on them to wrap our entire ship in a giant bubble and travel underwater.

Sure. Makes sense to me.

This is about where my break kicked in. I ended up stopping at a castle town called Gandino, but after poking around there a bit, I couldn't find anything plot relevant, at least not yet. I also got to re-acclimate to Dragon Quest's battle system, when the third encounter of my session had two frost cloud enemies that both hit the entire party for 60 damage each and killed poor Chamoro from full HP. Thanks, Dragon Quest VI. I missed you too.

Anyway, the real next place we should go is Poseidon's Palace. Why or how we know to go there is a bit fuzzier, but the important part is that we have to go underwater and find a staircase that leads to the palace. There, Poseidon tells us that someone named Glacos has taken up residence on the ocean floor without his permission, and that's he's very unpleasant, therefore we should kill him. Uh...sure. Usually I'm given a tiny bit more reason to go commit murder, but sure, if it advances the plot, I guess that's what we're gonna do. Glacos lives in an entire underwater castle, which is a fair sight more impressive than Poseidon's weird little cellar on the ocean floor. It turns out to be a pretty big and winding dungeon. Despite my constant worries about being underleveled, I'm able to handle the monsters here pretty well, although Chamoro's constant fragility gets kind of frustrating. Luckily, around this point both he and Muriel unlock the Sage class, which is notably more durable than the Wizard class.

Glacos himself turns out to be a big fish man with a trident. His dialogue seems to imply that he's the third of the four major demon bosses, and in that case I would've expected a little more buildup or even some explanation beforehand. The last guy had a whole thing about how he was stealing humans to be sacrificed. Poor Glacos is just chilling out in his castle and Poseidon puts a hit out on him. Glacos asks if we're here to break the seal on the magical city of Calberona, which...was this something I was supposed to have heard of before? Well, of course I answer yes, and we duke it out. As a boss, Glacos is pretty boring and straightforward. He has a lot of damaging party-wide attacks, but with two healers keeping on top of it, I manage to mostly keep everyone alive just long enough to avoid running out of MP, while my two physical fighters just beat on him for the whole battle. Nothing more to say there, really. Just a straight battle of attrition and my numbers were bigger.

Once Glacos dies, an entire small island pops back into existence in the dream world. I guess that must be the magical city Calberona, then. Glacos was apparently afraid of some powerful magic spell kept there, which is why it was sealed away. Obviously our next goal is to check it out and see what trouble we can get up to there. And then, most likely, reference a guide to see where to go next. See you then, and hopefully the next update won't take so long.
