Chapter Summary: Daemon and Freyja are meant to be wed three weeks ago. However it often gets delayed due to Freyja's business endeavors in the north. Which leads to a heated debate with her step mother Alyssa Mormont.

[Daemon's point of View]

The room was large, open and spacious stretching out in a circular tower. Each floor of the tower had its walls lined with bookshelves filled with books of ancient tomes to fictional tales lined against them. The ornate stairs twisting in the center to traverse between each floor of the tower.

Plush soft armchairs were scattered placed back to back around the room to provide comfort while they read books in the library. The library also had stained glass windows in varied colours and tones. Thick dark purple rugs on the floor underneath the dark wooden tables.

The ceiling between each floor had a light blue sky with clouds painted onto each one, ranging to dawn to sunset sky painted onto each one. Light blues morphed into ethereal golds, and the soft blush of dawn dissolved into the fiery reds of sunset.

We sat in the armchairs on the second floor of the library, as we spoke about the arranged marriage between Freyja and myself. However, things didn't exactly line up as I would have liked it to be. I paced around the library, she wasn't here and in her place, Alyssa was there instead.

"She won't be here until she comes back from her business venture." Alyssa stated, "So you have plenty of time before she returns."

"Business venture? Is that what she calls wandering off for a week to get chunks of ice?" I replied.

"She says there is a name for them, but I never remember what the technical name for it." Alyssa replied. "She also says its incredibly rare and hard to find more than three chunks from each ore vein."

The Glacium Shardium, its iridescent blue colours and hues. A light white misty fog breathe from the vein in coffins left bare and cracked open to the elements of the harsh snow. A piece sat in a dark wood and glass display case against the end of a bookshelf near the staircase.

I wasn't sure about this, she was always a wild child growing up. And even worse, she was a woman who was known for her independent and adventurous spirit. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it would be to tame her. I knew her to be incredibly passionate about everything, from her studies to her fighting skills to her love of dragons.

"I'm not sure I'm the right man for her," I said. "She's so different from me. I'm more of a traditional kind of guy. I like to stay in one place and build a life. She's always on the go, exploring new things. I don't know if I can keep up with her."

"I know what you mean, she can be pretty full on for anyone who doesn't expect it," Alyssa agreed, "She can also be seen as rather wild due to her extensive amount of energy and high endurance."

I still remember what she was like growing up, climbing trees, running through the forest, swimming in the river and getting into all sorts of trouble.

"She got into more trouble than anyone I knew, Aegon II pales in comparison when it comes to troublemaking," Daemon said. "I still remember the time she snuck out of the castle to go swimming in the middle of the night. She got caught by the guards and was grounded for a month."

"That's nothing," Alyssa said. "The time she stole a dragon egg from the dragonpit and tried to hatch it in her room? That was something else."

Daemon laughed. "I remember that. She was so disappointed when it didn't hatch."

"She was heartbroken," Alyssa said. "She really wanted a dragon of her own. Poor thing cried for months, until one day she found Reshiram."

"Reshiram?" Daemon asked. "The white dragon?"

"Yes," Alyssa said. "She was out exploring the mountains when she came across a cave. Inside the cave, she found Reshiram, injured and alone. She took the dragon back to her room and nursed it back to health. They've been inseparable ever since."

"Yeah, ever since started "The Dragon's Den?" Daemon asked. "What's that?"

"It's a marketplace for rare items," Alyssa explained. "Freyja started it a few years ago to provide a safe and legitimate place for people to buy and sell magical artifacts. It's been very successful, and she's made a lot of friends through it."

"That's impressive," Daemon said. "I didn't know she was so business-minded."

"She can't sit still, she never could," Alyssa said. "She's always got to be doing something. That's why she started "The Dragon's Den" in the first place. She needed a way to channel her energy and creativity. And it's worked out really well for her."

"I'm starting to think I don't know her at all," Daemon said. "She's not the same wild child I remember from childhood."

"She's still the same adventurous and passionate person she's always been, but she's also grown up and become more responsible. She's still a wild child at heart, but she's also a savvy businesswoman and a loyal friend. I think you'll be surprised by how much she's grown."

Glacium was my first DBZ OC and therefore my baby! She has gone through so many changes throughout the years, so I might make a post about her redesigns. All the current information I have on her should be on her picture.

Aurora and Borealis are twin brothers! They work as traveling bounty hunters. Cunning and powerful, these two work as a deadly duo to take out any on their list, or any that stand in their way. Despite this they are both caring in their own way; they have a particular soft spot for families, or more specifically sibling groups due to them losing their baby sister when they were young.

RP Prompt #1 - Voracious

Props to @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast for this writing challenge, I’m hoping to make something of this, this year. Will put under the cut so no one has to deal with a wall of text~ 

A group of men donning red cloaks all stood around a glyph, muttering some form of incantation or another in the dank back paths of Northern Thanalan. Two stood off to the side, sipping at their canteens, one speaking up, “So.. You think anything will come up besides our run of the mill voidsent?” 

“I’unno, man.. Tired of gargoyles and ahriman whittling our numbers away on the daily. We need results. For Dalamud, and whatnot.” Suddenly, the glyph began to glow. The man drinking spat out the water, while the other scoffed and stared on in scrutiny. Oohs and ahhs between the circle began to fill the air as a slender figure rose up from the glow, largely resembling a Hyuran woman. The skeptical man leaned in, in awe, “Holy Calamity, this is new..”

As the glow faded, the woman’s complexion began to show. The horns she had began to retract and her skin quickly altered from a ghastly blue to a fair white. Hair from pitch black to red. She landed on the ground gently and smiled, stretching out and muttering, “My, this took a lot longer than I had anticipated..”

A man spoke out, “The embodiment of Dalamud herself. Our lady Crimson..!!”

More awe-stricken mumbles.

The summoned being blined, “Lady.. Crimson..?” Her stomach began to growl and she pondered the words a moment, “Ah, yes. Of course! Gather round, o faithful ones, let your lady supp upon your aether for nourishment, so I can properly function on this.. Mortal coil..? Yes, this mortal coil.”  The men began to approach eagerly, including the two from moments prior. Her smile began to widen as she nodded. The lot of them bowed, and a glyph formed beneath the area. Whimsical auras began to surround each of the men, as if their souls themselves were being sucked out and transferred to the succubus-like entity. One by one the cloaked men simply toppled over as their aether ran dry.  She caught a glob of floating aether on her finger, as if it were solid matter and eyed it curiously, “Mm, lacking in quality, but I suppose it will have to do. By the by, I am no embodiment of Dalamud, I am Aileen.” she smiled fondly, licking her lips as she ate it up. And just like that, the pocket sect of the Lambs of Dalamud were wiped out. She blinked, “Oh, it seems I grew quite famished in my absence. Oh well.” Yet, that was not to be the end of things. A hulking figure stood not too far from this occurrence, huffing out, “I knew the day I cut you down would not be the last I saw of you, o daughter mine.” She grimaced, “Oh, seven hells. Shouldn’t you be drunk in Ul’dah, or something?”

Adlivun, Capital of the Qalupalik (Mercity)

The Capital of the Qalupalik built in, of, above and below the ice of the arctic, Adlivun is one of the most ancient Mer settlements after the City of Sunsong. Some have argued it may even be older, but it’s ever-changing nature makes that hard to ascertain. In recent years more of the Qalupalik city has been removed from the ice and rebuilt using the bones of whales, Glacium Chelys, Leviathans and the like on the seafloor, in an attempt by the ruling Sedna to try to ensure her people’s survival despite the receding ice. Much of the ice-city remains nonetheless, worn by water, wind and the creaking spell-song of Qalupalik mer into shape and carved with visual representations of their history which are slowly being replicated on the bones being used to make the newer parts of Adlivun.

Due to their more amphibious nature, not all of Adlivun is submerged, with the surface portions closely resembling traditional Inuit settlements. Due to this open placement on the surface, there have long been fears that they may be discovered by muggles, though this has never happened. Recent studies show that, as well as the scattered Mersong protections on the city (a combination of Notice-Me-Not and Unplottability), the city is also located in the nexus of what appears to be a magically-induced magnetic quirk which empowers these scattered spells far beyond their usual ability, to a point that only other Mersong can cut through to find the city - something the Qalupalik, isolationist as they are, much prefer.

The name of Adlivun is sometimes considered to be a misnomer, coming from the Inuit name for the underworld. In recent years a number of magianthropologists, both Inuit and not, have investigated the naming of the Mercity of Adlivun, and the chosen title of the Qalupalik ruler, to try to understand which came first: the myths or the naming. The question remains unanswered as to if the Qalupalik began and their culture, due to their isolationism, was mythologised, or if to them the names were simply stories ready to be used as inspiration. Others still suggest that the names are simply translations chosen in times past for ease, and which now raise questions that did not exist before.

Papaver dubium È una delle specie che si trova in Sicilia insieme allo spinoso Papaver Hybridum, al giallo Glacium Flavum al violaceo Papaver Somniferum (quello da oppio) o Setigerum. Ne esistono in Italia circa 12 specie, molte in declino. Tutte fioriscono circa tra aprile e giugno e sono potenti analgesici che agiscono direttamente sul cervello. Si usano in giuste dosi nella terapia del dolore e sono forti sedativi della tosse, narcotici, stupefacenti, antispastici, vasodilatatori. Il più forte è il papavero da oppio. I suoi semi si usano per cucinare e sono un blando sedativo. In aromaterapia, estetica e fitoterapia si usano anche i petali. La droga più forte però è il lattice, detto oppio. Gli effetti sono cefalea, sedazione, depressione, euforia, ipotensione, tachicardia, stitichezza, vomito, ritenzione urinaria, ansia, dipendenza fisica e psichica, aumento di prolattina, ormone della crescita e cortisolo, inibizione del desiderio sessuale, miosi e morte per depressione respiratoria. Tali effetti si aggravano con psicofarmaci, ormoni della tiroide e altri farmaci. Il Papaver Rhoeas rosso è però quello più comune (anche in Sicilia), l'unico ad avere poca morfina, codeina e simili. Le sue foglie giovani sono commestibili. È ricco di acidi grassi, manganese e ferro. In fitoterapia si usano i petali freschi o secchi per preparati idroalcolici e in tisane, ma anche i semi (l'olio pure), le radici (come gastroprotettori) e tutta la pianta (in tinture). Ha proprietà sedative, bechiche, antispasmodiche, antitumorali, antiossidanti, topiche anti-età, antinfiammatorie, antimicrobiche, allevia gli effetti della dipendenza da oppiacei (eroina...) e lo stress (anche se aumenta contemporaneamente l'ormone dello stress). Può fare allergia. C'è chi si è intossicato, con nausea, vomito, irrequietezza, dispnea, miosi, schiuma alla bocca, spasmi a braccia e gambe, incoscienza, tachicardia, produzione di acido lattico (tutti sintomi di avvelenamento da morfina), perché ne ha abusato o era particolarmente sensibile o l'ha scambiato con uno degli altri papaveri. [Freyja's Point of View]

Walking through the snow storm, the ice and snow felt like it was cutting into my soul like a hot knife through a stick of frozen butter, cold seeping through the layers of my clothes and entering my bones like a dagger. Each step through the thick layers of snow beneath my feet were a struggle against the wind, snow and the biting cold.

I didn't mean to put off this marriage as I know how important it was to my step-mother and the Targaryen family. This venture was important both as a business owner and smith, it was a rare mineral, a resource I couldn't find a reliable source for. At least for the time being I couldn't find one reliable enough to continue the growth of my business.

Rumors of removing an entire ore vein and moving it closer to my business was an endeavor I didn't know how to achieve. As one man stated, "Moving a Glacium Shardium vein is like moving a mountain. It's a task of epic proportions, requiring vast resources and knowledge of ancient magics."

"Some of them are in sarcophagus, would they be easier to retrieve?" I asked him. "I have resources needed for a feat either way."

Moving the ore veins located inside the sarcophagi, moving the entire thing to relocate to my home inside a warehouse where I had the necessary equipment there. I delved deeper into the venture, moving these sarcophagi type ore veins to my warehouse to ensure a steady supply of Glacium Shardium for my business.

As the days turn into weeks, they took three days to move just one of the sarcophagus ore veins into my warehouse and ensure it was built into the walls of the building. I needed at least four ore veins and making sure the steady supply was both secured into the building before heading back home.

The duration of my absence stretched out into an arduous and painstakingly long ordeal, one that seemed beyond my control. The passage of time had become an unpredictable adversary, as unpredictable as the shifting snowstorms that surrounded me. I couldn't help but dwell on the anxiety gnawed at my like a relentless beast.

"Please forgive me," I whispered into the unforgiving wilderness that enveloped me entirely, my words carried away by the biting cold wind. My breath formed a light mist in front of my face as I sat huddled in front of the hearth.

"Forgive me for taking so long," I continued, my voice barely audible above the howling winds.

"Please wait for me, as I would have waited for you," My silent plea, my silent hope he would still be there waiting. Even though I know someone like him wouldn't be one patient enough to do so.
