the     production     crew     had     told     anisa     that     her     best     friend's     booth     was     carnival     themed     ,     which     she     was     truly     enthusiastic     about     initially     .     however     ,     once     seeing     the     barbies     plastered     around     the     booth     ,     envy     and     vexation     coursed     throughout     her     interior     ;     seeing     it     as     too     similar     to     her     own     .     ❝     you     total     copy     -     cat     .     ❞     the     brunette     exclaims     as     she     marches     through     the     individuals     surrounding     melody     ,     arms     crossed     amongst     her     chest     in     disapproval     .     ❝     i     thought     they     told     you     i     was     going     to     do     bratz     for     my     birthday     ―     why     would     you     do     a     doll     theme     too     ?!     ❞

      kit's gaze flickered with amusement , his tone light but tinged with playful sarcasm .  '  a special kind of terrible ? you know what ... i'll take it . thank you .  '  he remarked , lips quirking into a teasing grin . his fingers absently traced the condensation on his glass , a thoughtful expression briefly crossing his features before he returned to the banter .  '  and yes , the eternal struggle of unpacking versus never feeling settled - i swear , it's a cosmic conspiracy against closet space .  '  a laugh ensues , though he may not totally be joking !  '  i mean , sure , i can use the closet space , but how many outfits can you really plan for when the next gig could be anywhere from milan to tokyo ?  '  kit's gaze turned contemplative for a moment , his thoughts drifting to the transient nature of his career , then quickly moving on .

      '  as for you -  '  he added , bringing his attention back to melody with a playful glint in his eyes .  '  - moonlighting as a comedian suits you . improv skills on point , just like facing a jury , minus the formalities .  '  his lips curled into a broader smile as he raised his glass in mock salute .  '  but seriously , settling in here , it's like waiting for the next scene to unfold . you never quite know what's around the corner , do you ?  '  he took a sip from his drink , savoring the momentary distraction it offered from the underlying uncertainties .  '  so ... how's your strategy for blending in with the elite crowd coming along ? any secret tips for surviving the berry hotel social scene ?  '

“  i  cannot  believe  you're  a  special  kind  of  terrible  to  me  !  ”  meant  also  with  same  kind  of  love  and  affection  as  digging  around  at  being  blamed  .  melody  would  find  a  loophole  ,  if  there  was  a  possibility  for  one  ,  to  make  sure  that  no  one  was  blamed  for  anything  .  if  drama  wanted  to  be  caused  and  there  was  blame  ?  that  was  lame  .  the  whole  point  was  to  watch  that  unfold  .  so  she  was  becoming  sure  .  “  no  ,  that's  so  true  .  vacations  do  not  feel  like  vacations  for  exactly  that  .  it's  like  .  okay  ,  sure  ,  i  can  use  the  closet  space  ,  but  also  ?  not  going  to  stay  here  for  long  enough  to  use  the  closet  space  .  but  also  ,  where  are  my  shirts  ?  ”  melody  also  couldn't  see  herself  getting  too  comfortable  .  before  doing  so  ,  she  would  have  to  go  around  the  room  and  double  -  check  to  ensure  that  the  sheets  weren't  wrinkled  .  did  you  know  that  if  they  are  ,  it  probably  means  someone  else  has  slept  in  them  ?  hello  ?  housekeeping  ?  offering  kit  a  now  bored  expression  ,  a  curl  of  their  mouth  .  “  hey  .  that's  all  you  need  .  improv  or  whatever  .  it  shows  off  your  skills  .  probably  no  different  than  dealing  with  a  jury  .  ”  and  oh  ,  boy  ,  were  there  some  difficult  juries.
