No matter what my holidays look like, I try to find a way to make someone else's special. For the past couple of years I have done backpacks for Saving Innocence, but that often left me more depressed than uplifted, since human trafficking is so horrific. I'm happy my new church @beachcitieschurch offered Samaritan's Purse's @operationchristmaschild shoeboxes. As you can tell, I went a bit overboard, so ended up doing two. And they let you track the boxes now! In shopping for the gifts, I found myself feeling uplifted, rather than depressed, and it makes me smile thinking about the delight these girls will have in receiving these gift shoeboxes. This momma, affectionately called, Madre’ is celebrating her 80th birthday. . She racks up years chocked full of family frenzied happiness and crazy challenges. . Amidst her 52 years of marriage with Padre’ (before he passed) they shared a vibrant, fun loving and romantic relationship. . As her oldest daughter I so often sat secure under the shadow of their faithful love. . One of the most beautiful things about my beloved Madre’ is her incredible ability to love and forgive when handed loss, hardship or family members so self-absorbed they couldn’t see the lavish generosity she gave daily. . On this day, her family set aside differences and honored her for the jewel she is. What a gift 💝 . I am immensely grateful for the years I have been given to learn from her ways. . Our lives impact people all around us whether consciously or unconscious. God bless these young people! They had been standing outside of Walmart for four hours in the cold collecting donations for Toys for Tots. I have a donation but really wants to do something for their service. I went to Dunkin Donuts across the street and got them all hot chocolate. When I took it back they were sooooo happy!!!
