Tbh i'm still seething about how Earthspark ruined my boy.

Aside from the untoyable design (due to them reusing a cyberverse toy but making a new design. with altmode proportions out of whack and the spidertank FUCKING SKATING, i hate his pointless square winglets that aren't even visible, and i hate how his head looks at the end of that plastic tube neck even though there's nothing strictly wrong with the head itself. I also hate how skinny he looks and his fucking buttplug-looking multitool. Knightverse Shockwave was also untoyable because they just fucking failed to consider the altmode because it wasn't in the film, but at least his robot mode was good there. TFES Shockwave's both modes are such letdowns.

I also hate how all good content, at least involving Shockwave, seems to be cut from the final product! Shockwave with Fluffy Ears, the flashback storyboard from Warzones where Shockwave's finials move like animal ears and his eye also moves, and the whole confrontation was written and coreographed much better instead of it just being Megatron shoving him.

I also hate Optimus' face and i'm finally sick of the enforced evergreen sameness of the past few years. If they can't do better with that budget, Earthspark should get a bigger budget or have never been made. If they want to tell a good, compelling, dark, deep story, the visuals and character designs have to be on par with that — and they aren't. At least i can take comfort in the fact nothing can ever be as hideous as Beast Wars was.

[I'm also kind of seething how TFP got all of that, but less great writing (Starscream's abuse and the way the writers treated it, pointless filler where the only common thread is ONE thing that is important in usually ONE later episode, enforcedly shallow Decepticons who were killed off if they became sympathetic, Cyberverse having more death because you can't kill people in a cast the tiny, and then Megatron's and Knockout's tacked-on last minute out of nowhere "redemptions" because the writers suddenly decided they couldn't kill everybody off). And this is coming from somebody who likes TFP]
