SMG34: LIPBITE COMIC WIP UPDATE

oh boy... i know a bunch of folks are hyped for this comic... and boy oh boy are ya'll's prayers going to be heard... kind of... butt for the celebration milestone, and granted majority are from this comic, i thought it was best to give EVERYTHING that i have currently.

starting off STRONG with what you freaks most want: the completed pages. andddd yep that's it that all that i have done LMAO. i've been fixated on my own smg4 oc: tsb, and during the end of my summer was unfortunately fucked over by some personal issues that fortunately got resolved last minute good grief the anxiety prevented me from drawing the gays sigh... aNYWAYS LINEART WIPS!!!!

here are linearts i have completed / in the progress of!! want to aim like i did in the past by finishing up lineart first, and then speed through with color + minor rendering. the reason i have a few colored is to test out what it would look polished and my god... i have improved A LOT. THESE GAY PEOPLE GIVE POWER I AM NOT KIDDING BELIEVE ME IM NOT CRAY- anyways onto wip pages!

jumpscare: tsb stickman sketches. oh yeah. this is how i sketch and i blame sensei eiichiro oda /j. and in case anyone is unable to understand it {i don't blame u LMAO}, smg4 wakes up from the dream and is startled to see mario by his bed. they have a short convo before mario leaves, and we get a job to smg4 in the bathroom trying to put up a brave face. until the moment he leaves he's stunned due to seeing smg3 at his front door. will i elaborate more on specifics or unwritten dialogue? NOPE! gotta keep secrets to make it even more enjoyable at the end!!

currently at 13 sketched pages total, but this is probably gonna be reaching towards 20-ish pages, surpassing part two, but it will depend on how i come up with how to end it. additionally to confirm there will be a PART FOUR / chapter 3, to end this story. my goal is to have it done before i finish my senior year, or at least during the summer after i graduate bc good lord who knows whats gonna happen.

here's what I've learned to never pay full price for, because people are giving these items away for free or almost free on Craigslist, Nextdoor, Facebook, at Goodwill, and on eBay (which has a local pickup section) in every sufficiently populated location in the USA.

cost of acquiring these items ranges from "carrying it home from the sidewalk" to "getting a friend with a car to help you pick it up" which is the same amount of effort as going to IKEA for worse quality that costs more, with the notable exception of it being a pain in the ass to coordinate with craigslist sellers, and you often have to wait and watch for what you want to actually show up. it took me about a year to find an acceptable gamer chair left out on the sidewalk, for example. but they cost $100+ new, so I chose to wait.

a lot of this stuff is the kind of thing you don't necessarily intend to keep, just to use in transitional housing or until you can afford a better one.

1. printers of any kind. basic office inkjets are free. ink is easily refillable or has generic ink cartridges way cheaper than brand name for any inkjet up to about 2015, not sure how difficult the newer smart printers are to hack but there's no reason to own a newer one because printing technology has not improved since about 2005. you want a color laser for making zines and wheatpastes? it's on Craigslist RN and someone's mom is desperate to get rid of it

2. bedframes

3. desks

4. tables

5. chairs

6. bookshelves, nice oak bookshelves that don't bend like al dente spaghetti when you put books on them, are rotting on sidewalks rn because they didn't fit in someone's house. go get them

7. scanners. I find a working scanner by a dumpster at least once a quarter, and I don't pick them up because I already have one that I picked up from a dumpster years ago

8. hot tubs. everyone thinks they want a hot tub and that the maintenance and upkeep will be worth it, and they are wrong. Craigslist.

9. sofas, with the caveat that if you are in a bedbug region like New York State you need to be very confident in your bedbug screening skills

10. quality leather shoes. these last forever and are expensive new. eBay is best for these

11. plates, glassware, silverware. all of these are able to be sterilized to whatever standard you feel comfortable with but if you eat in restaurants you've already put a fork in your mouth that hundreds of people have drooled on so try not to fool yourself

12. televisions and computer monitors

13. houseplants. similar to the bedbug warning above, you need to screen these for pests like fungus gnats and mealybugs

14. dressers, wardrobes, china hutches, cabinets, chests of drawers, etc

16. clothes hangers

18. mattresses to a certain extent. I don't like secondhand used mattresses but unstained, unused mattresses are surprisingly common, especially since the foam mail order mattress boom started and people keep getting told by the mattress companies to just get rid of/keep any mattresses they want to return for flaws or wrong sizes or whatever. bedbug warning on this obviously

19. sheets and towels. you gotta launder them obviously

20. basic clothing, especially for kids. normie type clothing is so numerous people often just throw them away because they can't get anyone to take them

21. kitchenware like cooking utensils and pots n pans. don't use chipped or scratched Teflon/nonstick if you can help it. everyone needs one basic steel chef knife, which can be sharpened and maintained indefinitely. people throw these away CONSTANTLY

22. household consumables like laundry soap and dish soap. people often accidentally buy the wrong brand, scent, or develop allergies and want to get rid of extra

23. pet supplies like collars, leashes, dog crates, litter boxes, litter itself, dog beds, toys, carriers, etc

24. medical equipment of all kinds. people who take care of all kinds of patients end up with tons of leftover, sealed, miscellaneous stuff when that person recovers or dies, and they often give it away. adult diapers, hospital beds, IV stands, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, fracture boots and splints, knee braces, canes, catheter packs, ice packs, heat packs, sterile paper sheeting, gauze, slings, over-the-door stretching and rehab pulleys, mattress protectors, etc

25. washers and dryers, both the basic household cube type and the small twin tub or rock tumbler type. people upgrade these when the old ones are still working, just squeaky or a little weird or sometimes just old

26. vacuum cleaners. secondhand ones are sort of icky but you can get rid of the ickiness by wiping them down with a rag and isopropyl alcohol inside and out. use an exacto or utility knife to slice off the hair and string wrapped around the roller. buy a new filter on Amazon. people throw away vacuums that work perfectly all the time because they don't actually know how to clean them out or do maintenance. bedbug and pet hair warning obviously

31. any kind of exercise equipment including stationary bikes, ellipticals and weights/weight benches

32. any kind of piano. there's a grand on my local Craigslist for free rn

36. newborn, toddler and baby equipment like breast milk pumps and storage, bottles, bottle racks, diapers, etc. anything a little guy will grow out of fast will end up being given away

wait, you have aphantasia? do you (or your followers) have any tips for navigating aphantasia as an artist? i have acquired aphantasia due to a TBI and i am trying to relearn How To Do Art. have yet to figure out how i need to adjust my process to accommodate because i keep trying to do things the way I used to and getting frustrated when it doesn't work. Obviously everyone's process will be different but i'd love to hear if you have any ideas.

Oh dang first of all ♥ that is a BIG change to have to deal with. So ♥♥♥ First. THIS WILL BE LONG I GUESS I DONT KNOW HOW TO BE CONCISE ♥ I can assure you can still make art with this new, less picture brain. There's loads of artists with aphantasia and while many of us have had it our wholes lives and had no idea, I am certain we can help give you advice to keep your art going. I will say up front that I started making pose references because I found that my drawings were a LOT better when I worked from reference. Turns out I guess I don't have any head pictures so ??? This explained a lot! I wish I knew how my brain stored info if not visually because I know when I used to draw a lot especially when I drew a lot from life, my figure drawing dramatically improved and I got pretty good at coming up with stuff on my own without references. I guess these would be my tips and I hope people jump in, especially if there's anyone else that's an artist who was a visualizer and is not now. 1) References are your friend! HOARD THEM. Don't be afraid to MAKE them. Take lots of photos, save art that does things you like for inspiration, collect lots and lots of visuals outside your head. 2) Even artists who can visualize often seem to report they cannot always reproduce their head pictures the way they want to. When I have 'an idea for a drawing' it's like a concept in my head. It's kind of just words and maybe some vague composition but again - not sure what it is just know it's not visual. So I gotta THUMBNAIL. A lot of times when I wanna work out what an idea is I just have to doodle a bunch of little versions of it til I go "yep, that's it, that's the one." Basically when I see it I know it's right but I have to see it externally to "see" it. Every piece I make (even my hair bows) I can't really *see* until it's there in front of me. I guess that means this part's advice is: draw little versions of things to work out visual problems on paper rather than in your head. If anyone else has things to add please please do!

Matthew Patel general headcanons! ^_^

(some of these are ideas from other peoples headcanons as well! I'm not claiming any of these as completely original,, I just think they're AWESOME and i wanna write them down. I'm very sorry if my headcanons seem like they're stealing from anyone, that is not my intention and if wanted I can remove anything that seems too simliar to an idea that anyones already posted.) - Matt has a hobby of painting his nails sometimes, the only colors he's been seen with are black, gray, and red. But black is the most common color he chooses, its easy and he likes black in general. - though Matthew ALSO has a hobby of chewing his nails (mostly just for stimulation purposes, he likes doing things with his hands a lot when hes bored.) so this ends up in clipped nail polish a lot of the time. - smell wise, I think he has an odd smoky scent, not like cigarette smoke or anything but just smoke in general, like burning wood. With a light hint of vanilla. - I feel like hes skilled with his fire powers yet also notttt...? like he KNOWS how to control them in a battle and hes good at it. -But also he accidently sets them off sometimes without realizing, mostly when hes feeling intense emotions or nerves. - OKAY. HEAR ME OUT ON THIS ONE. I feel like in the late 2000s, Matthew would REALLY enjoy making Youtube sketches online, you gotta understand. HE WOULD LOVE BEING A CONTENT CREATOR!! I think he would have a lot of fun with having a small 'fanbase' and being able to post his ideas online. - continuing onto that, I also think he'd have a blog. Its a half and half of him talking about his favorite productions/movies and also him complaining about random stuff. He probably would think roleplaying is fun but this might be me projecting at this point. - I think he has a hard time balancing his confidence and insecurity, like its a very MIXED bag of how he feels about himself. Sadly hes pretty easy to shut down when hes confident as well I think, since his confidence is mainly just 'fake it till you make it' except he isnt fully there yet. - Matthew likes playing around with his style sometimes, especially if someone around him gives him clothes or asks him to put something on. I think he wouldnt be too into bright colors, but he'd play around with some things on himself. Like different kinds of makeup, jewelry, etc. - I feel like he has dyslexia. I dont have anything else to add I just stole this one from my friend, but its canon in my mind. - I think he has a mix of an Indian and American accent. (this headcanon exists in my mind mainly due to the fact that in Satya's audition for Matthew in the movie he used a mix of an Indian and American accent as well and i thought it was a very nice touch.) - speaking of America, I feel like Matthew grew up in the South-West of USA, I dont have a reason for this I think its just projection again. - he's actually very close with his demon hipster chicks (I also might actually post about the demon girls soon as I also have my own hcs on them) Since I like to think he summoned them in highschool and they've kinda just stuck around since. - I think hes a decent singer, though singing is something he enjoys just both as a pastime and as a career goal, so he'd practice often. - I feel like the same thing can be said with acting in general, he enjoys practicing a lot on his acting skills, he'd probably think improv is really fun. - probably a people pleaser due to how he just acts sometimes, I dont know I just feel it in my bones. okay I'm done :P also I feel like I might need to add; my idea of Matthew in my head is mainly a mix of all four medias of him, so this isnt supposed to be about any Matthew in particular. sorry for any grammar mistakes I dont have any excuse I'm just stupid!!

HEHAHBFKI More South Park doodles I think I’m going insane.

Actually this is kind of the product of me being liking South Park way back in high school but was too embarrassed to draw them when I was bored in class and now it’s all kinda flooding back 💀

Read below if you want to know more about my New Kid and my thoughts behind some of the doodles cause this turned out longer then I though 💀

Anyways- introducing my New Kid. No name cause I literally have no idea. Whatever the cannon name is ig- though I’d think it’d be funny if she was referred to New Kid by literally everyone like in game. I like the idea that a lot of people have with their New Kids that they liked the makeover section with the girls during the Stick of Truth a little too much. I also like it cause… uh… I didn’t play Stick of Truth. (The combat system is not my cup of tea) So it’s not until the start of TFBW does she know shes really a girl.

To give context to the top right drawing- I couldn’t remember the dialogue Wendy says in the alleyway if you say you’re a trans girl- but I do know what she says if your a cis girl (I always knew you were a girl) cause I did a second play through as a cis girl. And I don’t know if there’s supposed to be a huge time jump between the end of Stick of Truth and TFBW but I think it would be funny if it was just the next day- so combine these two fact to get “Wendy always clocked New Kid as a girl but NK just found out yesterday 💀”

Anyways- she’s such a cutie, I love her and her cool superhero outfit I gave her. Outside of the game- I’d like to think of her basically exactly how she acts in game. Mostly non-verbal, with the occasional zingy one liner, and just kinda goes along with the crazy shit the happens in South Park un phased. Like if she was in a episode- the plot would happen and she would be on screen, but wouldn’t say anything, and anytime another character would address her, they’d respond however as if she spoke lmao. Aroace, just like me, so she’s just friends with everyone (except Cartman) and vibes with everyone.

The mini Style comic I though of cause 1) I wondered if Kyle had the same elf ears as the other elfs did in game (again, never played and it’s been a while since I saw gameplay so whoops if it’s confirmed or whatever) and 2) I thought it would be funny if Stan was caught lacking and tried to /rp his way out of it (I wanted to add an extra bit where Kyle would be like “Oh, are our characters gay for each other??? (ARE YOU /SRS OR /J STAN)” and Stan would have to just “yes, and” his way out.)

The last three images were kinda of a stream of consciousness put on paper and made neat lol. I really like showing that all the costumes the kids wear are homemade and stuff- either stuff taken from their parents or visibly taped together etc- cause I think it’s charming. Anyways- I though Kyle’s little robe could be like one of his parents bath robe- and it would be a little too long for him to run without eating shit so he’d have to hike it up like a skirt/dress. Which lead to me thinking that Cartman would say some shit about that and how Kyle, who has a literal Golf Club, would smack his ass up. Which then lead to me thinking about how since Kyle’s the Elf King and Stan’s basically his right hand how he might lift it up wedding dress style if needed (/RP GUYS, RIGHT?RIGHT???) and how Cartman would react, which lead to that one JoJo meme cause thats literally how they’d retaliate.

Always- I’ll probably have at least one more post about South Park I swear. There was a period of time before I stopped watching (I gotta pick it up again) where I would doodle a bit of whatever was happening in the episode, each episode. Crazy I know, but not only did it improve my drawing skills but it helped me remember what actually happened in episodes cause I have shit memory and definitely don’t remember some of the episodes I watched. So I might redraw some of those- see if anyone can tell what episode they’re from.

SO! I got night in the woods a few days ago! And uh. I've been playing it nonstop and I have like 5 neglected assignments due tmrw!!!

So I drew mae with my new alcohol markers!! Just testing them out. I've gotta get good at using them, but I think I did good for a first try.

I fucking love this game so far. I'm on chapter 3/part 3 the harfest part. Mae is such a relateable character I think. This game makes me wanna go out and run around and live life and have friends. It makes me wanna give a shit.

I love the scenery, and hanging out with my friends is so fun. I mostly hang with bea, I don't rlly like all the dangerous stuff gregg does. I did hang with gregg once, and damn. Like. Damn. I didn't know he had mental issues:(I feel bad for hating on him. I also can feel it in my bones that bea has stuff going on in her life that she isn't letting me in on. I wanna know why shes so under the weather. Also wtf do I have fucked up dreams every night since the party??? I really like using the baseball bat ingame when I can. It's so fun. I REALLY VERY suck at playing the guitar tho;-; I cant hit any good notes and i bring the whole band down :( 'practice makes perfect' but I'm practicing and I ain't improving SHIT.

Oh boy, it’s that time again

(Haven’t done it much here but when a big piece of media comes out, you usually get a hyperfixated ramble post right after I finish it and a deep dive a day later. This is the deep dive lol)

Warnings: discussion of abuse and neglect, solitary confinement, and ptsd/childhood trauma. And ofc spoilers for WOTFI 2024 and just smg4 in general

Oh yeah and since I’m tagging this as selfship, the selfship stuff is at the bottom of yall want to just skip to that lol

I think I need to preface this by saying I still loved literally all of the WOTFI besides the ending. The song was freaking awesome (I’ll get into that later), the challenges were perfect, the clown designs for the main cast were amazing, etc. I’m just trying to get the negativity out first lol

But yeah ok, gotta get the elephant in the room out of the way first: what the trio chose to do with Puzzles was absolutely awful.

I was mostly shocked that Meggy seemed just totally ok with it considering SHE JUST SAW FIRSTHAND HOW ABUSED PUZZLES WAS??? She literally met his child self and saw how weary he was, how he flinched away from her touch like those are clear signs of abuse and it seems like Meggy should’ve known that

So why the frick didn’t she object? Mario is always doing stupid crap so that makes sense, but you would think Meggy or even SMG4 would do something???

But why is it abuse, you ask? Well, Puzzles has one major issue, and that’s that he has no friends. And then Meggy became friends with his child self, therefore logically setting him on the path to redemption. But obviously Puzzles has done some awful crap and should’ve been punished in some way, maybe something like having to stay exclusively in the showgrounds for a while until he shows improvement, with the gang there to support him (just came up with that off the top of my head lol). But you know what they decided was the best possible punishment for this man? Solitary freaking confinement. The punishment notorious for literally causing prisoners to go insane due to lack of interaction. And you just had to give that specific punishment to a man WHO LOST HIS FREAKING MIND AS A CHILD DUE TO LACK OF INTERACTION?? DO YALL SEE THE PROBLEM WITH THIS???

I’m not even mad that they did that, obviously it’s wrong but these are fictional characters making that decision, and characters can be misguided. You can have characters that literally violate everything on a basic dni list or something, characters can be evil. My issue is when it is glorified or romanticized. And that’s pretty much exactly what they’re doing here

Another line that came out of Meggy’s mouth that really hurt me was when she said that maybe he’d get better in there, stop being so obsessed with ratings…. is she stupid? The whole reason why this all started is because Puzzles was an abused child with no friends who basically hyperfixated on wanting to fulfill his dream of running a park (and later tv production as well) but was shut down by his father and isolated himself with a tv all day. Meggy had just managed to heal his inner child and see the good in him. And then they act like finally giving him what he needs to heal and then VIOLENTLY RIPPING IT AWAY FROM HIM AND LOCKING HIM IN A ROOM (MIGHT I ADD, LIKE HE DID AS A CHILD DUE TO TRUAMA, THERE IS NO WAY THIS ISNT BRINGING UP SOME GENUINE PTSD FROM HIM) IS GOING TO JUST MAGICALLY FIX HIM??? NO! AND THERE IS ZERO INDICATION IN THE MOVIE, NOT EVEN A HINT, THAT THE TRIO MIGHT BE IN THE WRONG.

I’m sorry, but this is abuse and also extreme neglect of what Puzzles needed to change.

And also, Puzzles being a villain doesn’t make any of this ok. Didn’t we already learn that with SMG3?? Villains that have clear issues like this can be reformed over time, it just takes work. But no, apparently they’re not gonna do that

Genuinely speaking: if they wanted betrayal via Mario, they should’ve had him just straight up kill Puzzles or something right then and there. Or keep the original story but have the others seem horrified of what Mario did.

Also that scene really should’ve been given more time to breathe, I know this is the haha funny Mario spaghetti show but that doesn’t excuse going from villain being likely reformed to villain being arrested and the park exploding in a matter of 5 god dang seconds. Sure that would’ve been funny if this was some random side character or minor reoccurring villain, but this was literally the man behind 3-4 arcs and the star of 2 more, and a clear fan favorite character. Even if he wasn’t gonna die, they should’ve treated it like Axol or One Shot Wren, where both the audience and characters are given time to mourn and see what was happening, see character reactions, all of that. Even a stupid line from a couple of the police officers would’ve worked perfectly. Just time to process what the frick just happened.

My only other issue besides, well, all that lmao, is that the actual movie was just nothing like the trailer, like there were scenes exclusively in the trailer and that felt really weird to me

Also I loved how the parts sung by the trio are kinda more akin to children’s movie songs (describing exactly what’s happening on screen, the sad “I know there’s good in you” part, etc) and then Puzzle’s parts are just hahaha I’m gonna freaking turn your corpses into gushing mounds of blood-

Kingdoms and Empires Wiki Drop!

Sup guys, im releasing what i have done in the wiki today! In this post im only going to talk about the Wiki because I dont want to create an even more massive wall of text here than it already is. Please see the entire post on the forums thread!!! I solidified the lore (which means no more massive changes), set the foundations to the story (so i dont end up writing a shit ton and having to fucking rewrite everything anymore), and pretty much rewrote the canon lore until i reached a point where i literally cannot share it because itd be spoilers without the future rewrite (regarding the worldbuilding, all introduced characters and such are still the same, some just had minor tweeks, so nothing crazy like changing our old bodyguard Mary:

A good amount of it will be hidden since alot of it is spoilers, so you get 39,174 thousand words of unlocked content out of about 50k words in the wiki. The Interactive Outdated Map Yeahhh almost as soon as i published the map for the patreons it became outdated lmaoooo Nareth is much bigger than originally imagined, Argent is surrounded by mountain and forest tribes (think Hispania’s Lusitanian Wars or the Germanic Tribes type of vibe). The empire (being Imperial Chinese and Persian Empire inspired) also is surrounded by the these tribes, and the Imperial Province of Lymark is now the “Protectorate of the Western Regions” which basically means theyre the watchdogs of Western Nareth. Its funny because theyre also across the St. Hytera River, which is much like the Danube River, and will inevitably face the same issues Rome did with Dacia when they had a presence that extended the natural borders.

Villain n°1: Support Ego

So my brother and I were best friends growing up. He was hilarious and we got into all kinds of trouble. I still can’t believe some of the shit we got away with. Anyway I guess he had a nervous breakdown one day and accidentally killed a guy. I saw what happened and it totally wasn’t his fault. But he ran away, ranting about how his entire life was a lie or something. Turns out, he was adopted and our parents never told us. I didn’t hear from him for a few years after that. Then he just shows up at this party I’m having. He’s totally grown out his beard like some kind of mountain man. But whatever, my brother is back! So I welcome him home and he pulls this snake out of nowhere. Like, an actual snake. So I try to play it cool. Knowing my brother, this has got to be some kind of practical joke. But my buddies flip out and next thing I know, they pull out some snakes too. I’m thinking, I have to get this under control before this turns into a goddamn reptile show. But before I can say anything, my brother’s snake eats their snakes, which, okay, I guess that improves the situation? So I take my brother aside and ask him what prank he’s trying to pull. That’s when he gets all serious. He reminds me that our dad did some pretty shady stuff, which wasn’t really that big of a deal to me but I guess it was to him. He tells me to check my privilege or some shit and that I should let his people go and anyway that’s how I lost my brother to social justice.

Villain n°2: Candy Bin

Having your heart broken as a kid is really difficult. It leaves lasting scars for the rest of your life if you're not careful. So it is important that you never give up on a dream. Being able to put your focus into making that dream come true can do a lot of healing. There will always be people who stand in your way and tell you that you aren't good enough, but sticking with it is the best revenge on them. Even if you get knocked down nine times, you gotta stand back up a tenth time. Number ten just might be the lucky one!

bakin’s a Creation Bard to make a big ol’ doggo (or several smaller ones), as well as a bit of a Paladin for the v fance glowy sword attacks in her final ascension.

bakin (bacon to her friends) was a human, but now she has that dog in her, so she’s a Kalashtar bc that dog has that god in it. that gives her +2 charisma n +1 constitution, plus a dual mind for advantage on all wisdom saves! if thats not enough u can set up a mind link with another creature, letting you two speak telepathically for an hour, but only to one creature at a time, this isn’t four swords adventure.

you’re severed from dreams too, so you have to sleep but you’re immune to magical stuff that messes with dreams. which is like, one spell. idk why they needed to make this a whole thing.

also ur a guild artisan, which is pretty obvious. that gives you proficiency with insight and persuasion!

ability scores!

charisma is your highest score. it’s how good you write, how strong your dogs are, and your connection to godliness. after that is dexterity! you aren’t super muscley, so I assume you’re using lighter weapons. I mean ur literally using light weapons eventually but u know what I mean. after that is constitution. you gotta be able to make those all-nighters if you want your stuff written on time, duh. after that is strength bc we can’t let it get too low if we wanna multiclass, so your intelligence and wisdom aren’t that great. writing conventions several centuries ago probably weren’t that great, and you did kinda become evil for a bit in your intro event.

class levels

1. bard 1: first level bards get all sorts of skills, like performance, arcana, and nature! you’re a writer, a god, and a dog. makes sense. also you’re good with Dexterity and Charisma saves.

you also get bardic inspiration which you can throw out to people as a bonus action, adding a d6 to one of their attack rolls or skill checks. you can do this Charisma Modifier times per day.

but you also get spells! you can cast ‘em using your charisma, and you get all sorts. message for the chaldea-standard commlink, vicious mockery, charm person, and heroism are all alterations you can make to friends or enemies by using their true names, weakening their saves, making them friendly, or making them braver, respectively.

2. bard 2: at second level you get another true name nonsense spell, command. they’re only one-word commands, but at least now your dogs will know how to sit, stay, shake, etc.

you’re also a Jack of All Trades now, adding half your proficiency bonus to any skill check you’re not proficient in. you also get a song of rest for like an extra d6 of healing during short rests, but don’t expect that to scale well.

3. Bard 3: at level three, you graduate from the College of Creation, adding a Mote of Potential to your inspirations. if your friend uses their die on a check, they can roll two and pick the better. if they use it to attack, they deal that much damage to nearby creatures as well. if they use it on a save, they get temporary HP too!

but even better, you can now perform a Performance of Creation, letting you make a medium or smaller object of your choosing once a day. look, when you have eight of them dog treats get expensive.

speaking of, you can cast Animal Messenger now, turning one animal… into a messenger. I know, it was impossible to tell from the title.

oh right, third level bards also get Expertise in two skills, doubling your proficiency in Performance and Nature.

4. Bard 4: at fourth level use your first Ability Score Improvement to round out your Charisma and bump up your Strength so we can multiclass later. you can also cast Friends now for more true name shenanigans, or cast Locate Object to.. you get the idea. but at least now you can track down your puppies.

5. Bard 5: fifth level’s the best level for bard, giving you a bigger inspiration die, as well as making you a Font of Inspiration so your inspiration recharges on short rests instead of long ones.

finally, you get the spiciest true-name shenanigan of all, Bestow Curse. it can do literally anything as long as it’s bad for the target and your DM says it vibes with the spell slot you spent.

6. Bard 6: at sixth level you can use countercharm, but that’s bad. Animating Performance is good though, letting you turn any object you see into a dancing object. this way you can write up a dog statue, then make it an actual dog. we’ll get a much less jank dog to ride later, but speed beats ease of use today.

you also get a little Lesser Restoration in your life, because Bakin is yet another servant with debuff immunity tacked onto a skill.

7. Paladin 1: at first level, paladins can use Divine Sense to sense good and evil things like, say, mystical beads of purity or whatever the hell you put on those collars. you can also Lay on Hands to restore HP equal to five times your paladin level, or you can use five points of healing to cure a disease or poison.

8. Paladin 2: second level paladins get first level spells! you still use charisma to cast, but now you can prepare new spells every time you rest. your spell slots are also a bit weird now, check your phb for all of that.

with the new spell list, you can use all sorts of spells for those eight benevolences, like Bless for extra HP, Divine Favor for more damage, Shield of Faith for stronger AC, or Protection from Evil and Good to prevent possessions and the like.

or you can use your spell slots on Divine Smites, adding 2d8 radiant damage for first level spells, plus an extra die of damage for every level above that, up to a max of 5d8.

and of course you get a Fighting Style. as a Blessed Warrior, you can use Word of Radiance to write so good it hurts people or Guidance to help yourself (the old guy) around the house.

9. Bard 7: seventh level bards get fourth level spells, like Freedom of Movement. gods go where they want, dogs go where they want, so a doggod’s gotta be free to do whatever, right?

10. Bard 8: max out your Charisma, and get Charm Monster to charm that monstrous dog. we’re almost at the non-jank dogs I promise.

11. Bard 9: ninth level bard, fifth level spells. Skill Empowerment lets you give expertise to someone who’s merely proficient in a skill. writing tips from a famous author can usually be pretty enlightening.

also song of rest is better but I doubt 1d8’s changing any fights by now.

12. Bard 10: tenth level bards get d10s for inspiration, as well as another round of Expertise in Insight and Arcana. you also get to cast True Strike, a sure sign I was running out of cantrips to pick back whenever I made this build.

more importantly, you learn some Magical Secrets this level, letting you pick up spells from any spell list! grab Flock of Familiars for all those small dogs you need, as well as Find Steed for the big’un. it’s a shame the dogs showed up this late in the build, but when have dogs ever come in when you called for them?

13. Bard 11: we called the paladin spells eight benevolences, but we only really got four. well, I think your new spell Heroes’ Feast more than makes up the difference. everyone who sits down to eat get extra HP, advantage on wisdom saves, become immune to poison and fright, and get cured of all diseases and poisons affecting them. officially it’s food, but you could always reflavor it into a book club.

14. Bard 12: now that we finally have a mount, we can get Mounted Combatant. with this, you get advantage on attacking anything smaller than your mount, you can take hits for your good boy when he gets targeted, and he has evasion while you ride him, so aoe attacks won’t him hurt nearly as much. you’re still out of luck though.

15. Bard 13: song of rest’s better again but fuck that, you can cast Mordenkainen’s Sword. it can’t use smites, but it does 3d10 damage every swing and you don’t even have to touch it to kill people with it, it’s so sick.

16. Bard 14: with our last college bonus Creative Crescendo, you can create multiple objects at once, up to five at a time. only one of those items can be bigger than small sized, but that still means you can make collars for more than half your dog swarm at a time now.

you also get another round of magical secrets- Tasha’s Otherworldly Guise lets you go full-goddess, a feat few can ever manage, and Locate Creature lets you track dogs directly, even if their chip’s been stolen.

17. Bard 15: fifteenth level bards have d12s for inspiration, and you can Teleport now to finally move on to the next island. yes, we’ve been stuck on the first part of your even for fifteen levels- I’m sure that would be boring in D&D, but that’s another reason to be happy things don’t translate 1 to 1 when swapping games.

18. Bard 16: use our last ASI to bump up your Dexterity for better AC and more accurate sword swings. when you’re not using a magic sword, anyway.

19. Bard 17: yeah song of rest but also ninth level spell slots! with Foresight, we get the ultimate benevolence- whoever you hit with this spell can’t be surprised and gets advantage on all attacks, checks, and saves, plus attacking creatures always have disadvantage for up to eight hours. always go full godmode, it’s awesome.

20. Bard 18: our last level of bard grants even more Magical Secrets. Geas uses someone’s true name to force them to act according to your will, or at least avoid something you tell them not to do. Blade of Disaster is an even cooler magical sword to do your noble phantasm justice. it deals 4d12 damage a hit, crits three times as often with super damaging crits, and it makes two attacks a turn. it slices, dices, and even juliennes fries.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

Bards and paladins are both great at supporting allies- sticking the two together rarely goes wrong in that regard. add in the fact we have some of the strongest buffs in the game, and any party would be happy to have you.

Like all bards, Bakin’s got sick skills, with ways to improve them even further if needed. you’ll excel at just about anything you want to do outside of combat.

with a 3d printer at your command, plus all sorts of mind-controlled and created minions, you’ll have no shortage of ways to tackle whatever problems you face in your adventures. yeah, the bard encourages you to play creatively, go figure.

Cons:

at lot of your buffs, as well as your puppy horde, require concentration to work. not only does this limit the amount of power you can wield at any one point, but your constitution isn’t great either, so there’s a decent chance you might cast a spell just to waste it the next time you get slapped.

mounts and minions aren’t good in direct fights, so you kind of have to play creatively to get use out of them. thank goodness you have all that magical sword stuff for head-on combat, right?

oh yeah your combat stats suck. your strongest non-magical attack has a +3 to hit, and you don’t really have the HP or AC to get into melee range all that often unless you want to get split into eight pieces too. you can pump out serious damage with mordenkainen’s sword, blade of disaster, and your smites, but it’s a high-risk, high-reward kind of fighting.

Do you have any tips or tricks on how to start a comic like this? Or even just how you got started?? I've had my own au for years that I so badly wanna put out into the world but I've been struggling with finding a good way to start it!!!!

Hm!! Ok!! This is a tough question with many different answers even just from me. I'll do my best to answer tho!! 😮

The main bit of advice I want to give, and which I think is vital to anyone creating anything:

☆ Know yourself.

When looking up advice for creating, people love to tell you that by doing things a specific way is the best and only way to go. Often advice of this sort has solid points, you should plan ahead, you should have easy character designs, buut... You don't have to.

I do not work well with outlines or scripts. I dislike sketching. You'd think that'd make being a long form comic artist impossible for me, but nope.

I know theres things I cannot do, so I've put all my practise to what I can do. My lineart style allows me to almost skip sketching completely, my scripts are more of an A to B structure than law. I improv 90% of the time when making pages. It's kinda like dnd with myself.

I would absolutely not reccomend what I'm doing to others, but I know it works for me. People can tell me I'm doing it wrong but its either wrong or no comic at all, SO. Suck it. 👍

Er. Rambling now.

My point is, figure out what you can and cant do, and do your best to give yourself the ideal work enviorment and process.

☆ Deal with being overwhelmed

Making just a few panels and suddenly realising its gonna take years to get anywhere is SO demoralising. It's gonna happen and its gonna happen again, and again, and—

But continuing with the earlier advice, you gotta ask yourself what would help you. Are you willing to sacrifice quality? Do you just need a break? Maybe you're like me and like to include smth you love in every update so you'll have something to get excited about making.

That feeling of overwhelm is trying to tell you something, so figure out what that is so it wont end the project for you.

☆ Start it

You wont like what you make when starting. I've never heard of an artist who has.

I'm not saying start this instant, not everyone is as into improv and flailing around as me. But I will say you'll never feel ready. Figure out the minimun of what you need to start and do it. Show friends first if youre afraid to post.

Also where to start? Well sure there's lots of good advice online about that, but you can also just doodle random stuff until you feel like diving deeper. That's what LV started with, just Twi and Wild hanging out with animals and some headcanons. It may not be the most tightly written work but theres beauty in the humanity of a mess.

☆ Extras

A "failed project" or "forgotten WIP" is only a failure if you let yourself feel that way. Yea it can be a hauntingly strong feeling thats hard to deal with... But it can be beaten. WIPS are proof you tried and not everyone can say they have.

Lv is far from done and I have no intention of dropping it, but because the journey has been so nice I'd satisfied even if I had to call it here. Its smth that helps me with the overwhelm... What I've made is beautiful even now.

Comparing yourself to others is gonna rip your heart out. I love that theres other links meet aus out there and hope the best for those artists but I caNNot follow any of them or I'll crumble to dust.

Basically. Have fun and be yourself. 👍

"Help Wanted”

Keys approached the front doors of the establishment with a large 'Help Wanted' sign beside the door. She sighs and walks in.

A large empty looking dining room sits off to the left, she enters looking for someone to talk to.

"Hello?"

Suddenly a figure rushes into the room, they seem to be unable to stop themselves and-

The figure stumbles back to their feet and seems unphased by the fall they just had.

"Hi- Hello! Welcome to the new and improved Freddy Fazbears... Well I-i mean its not new or improved... B-but we're one of the last locations standing so that's some-something atleast!"

They pause and stand up straight.

"Uh cool...? I saw the sign out the front and was wondering if you were still hiring?"

They nod and give a thumbs up.

"Yeah we're in need of a day guard at the moment, we weirdly seem to keep loosing staff..."

"Well would you like a tour before we talk paperwork?"

"Sure, I don't really care either way."

The telephone man seems rather excited to be giving a tour, they almost slip on their skates for a second time.

"So this is the dining room, here you can do tons of stuff! Like uh.. you can serve pizza and... you can also perform for kiddens in one of our special costumes. It-it uhm might not be as professional as our other ones but it's wearable."

They begin walking towards another room and lead her into the adjacent room, quiet mechanical sounds coming from it.

“So-so this is the Arcade, I-I’d rather not spend too much time here it has a weird aura… b-but you can play games in here on your break-”

He jolts back and shrieks, standing frozen for a moment as if transfixed on some unseen source in the air. They begin slowly stepping out of the arcade and down to another room.

The room stinks of rotten pizza and plastic, the phone man seems to still look uneasy. He motions towards the center piece of the room which was a colourful children's play area with a large ball pit that took up most of the room.

"So this is kids cove, its our area for the kiddens to have fun. Employees are no-not allowed on t-the equipment and especially not in the ball pit. T-too many after hours incidences..."

"Seems lame, why would anyone want to play on this thing anyways?"

“I wish I-I knew. I wish I knew.”

“Lets just-just get to the end of the tour so w-we can talk business.”

He walks out of the room to a hallway with two doors, he leads Keys’ into the first door.

The phone man opens one of the drawers and brings out a red contract with a few signatures on it, he hands a pen and the contract to Keys.

“You’ve just go-gotta sign the red contract and-and the job is yours. Nothin scary, we a-all signed the contract.”

Keys looks down at the paper, she skimmed the contract. Not really caring about it if she got paid.

Keys signs the contract and hands it back to him and he returns it to it’s draw.

“With that out of the way, what’s your name employee?”

“My friends just call me Keys. Not that I have friends who talk to me.”

“Oh thats… I hope you can make new friends here then!”

He holds his hand out to shake, Keys stares at it and doesn’t take it. Leaving David just holding his hand out. His hand appeared to be badly scarred with symmetrical patterns.

He pulls back his hand after realising that Keys wasn’t going to take it.

“Uh um I-I’m the-the assistant manager of this location, you can call m-me Mr Cawthon. You’ll h-hopefully see the manager a-around somewhere.”

“P-please tell me if-if you see him…”

He left Keys alone in the office. Keys sighs and looks up at the clock.

My silly drv3 experience so far (by someone who has yet to finish the game)(only prologue)

this post details me and my friends drv3 prologue experience. We are currently almost done with chapter 5, keep in mind that THERE MAY BE GAME SPOILERS FOR ANYTHING BEFORE DRV3 CHAPTER 6, last thing i wanna do is spoil a game for someone

before i get into the funny stuff (bear with me please) i just gotta give a little insight as to why my experience is so funny to me, skip to the green if you just wanna hear the stuff leading up to the actual experience, and to the pink just to quick skip to the prologue

my friends who I ran through with: @h3r0b0y and @rexecutioner, go take a look at their stuff, both of them are incredible artists who have content other than drv3 (this is also an excuse to tag them so they can fact check me)

pre-game experience (not required to understand, but recommended if you want backround info)

when i consume a new piece of media, usually its because ive seen things about it that i find cool or funny, or ive been told good things about it. In all honesty damn gone grandpa was never i game i thought i would ever get into or care about, because my only experience with it was some of the immature fans and one kid in middle school who liked it. I had only heard about the negative parts of the fandom from like 2018 (peak people misunderstanding character territory) even until like a year ago (wow so great of me to judge a game based on like 3 negative experiences wooww). during middle school, i also met my best friend (this is important later).

Another thing about our silly friend group is that Hero is great at improv (like really good, hes seriously one of the funniest people on earth) and Rex, my twin, is really good at making silly voices and VAing different characters with unique voices (they both are good at these things, but i wanna give them each individual credit). Im pretty amateur at both, but I can hold onto my voice a bit longer without having to take a break

The actual drv3 prologue experience

what we do with our amazing great and cool talents is dub over various pieces of media that we like or find funny, such as mystreet or mcsm. My best friend, Hero, is someone with impeccable taste in outfits and clothes in general, and owns a checkered bandana and was wearing it when me and Rex were over at his house, and kept talking about how “he would be compared to the twink from daganronpa” if he wore it out. The same day that Hero brought up the checkered bandana thing, we finished dubbing the last interesting piece of mystreet media, and now had nothing left to do. Being in the damn gone grandpa headspace with the whole kokichi thing, Hero suggested that we voice over it. The only things i knew about it was monokuma and kokichi because of the one banger fan song and the bandana kokichi wears. Im not exaggerating, I personally had no clue that there was more then one game, and at the time i still didn't care much about the game and didn’t think that we would get too far into it to care (we’re going through a 43 hour playthrough), i personally thought we would get bored after seeing kokichi and then quit (i was so wrong).

Our plan was that there was no plan except that we would mute the game and do all of the voices ourselves, not much thinking went into it. PROLOGUE

I actually have all of the prologue on video, as i like to look back on things to remember stupid details like jokes and predictions for the rest of the game so I can see how close we got. I will not be posting it anywhere for privacy reasons, so please respect that. Its also the only one i videoed for some reason, so its the only one I remember that well due to large time frames between sittings.

it started with the black nothingness and a voice, whom Rex claimed immediately, and used a slightly deeper voice for them thinking that it was a man. Its was infact not a man (there is a video clip of all three of us exclaiming “ITS A GIRL??” After kaede steps out of the locker) after we see the banging on the other locker, a boy falls out. I immediately decide that i get to be the pathetic emo, and while the voice tends to fluctuate a bit for a while, the voice i settle on is something akin to the snapcube silver the hedgehog voice. We run through the rest of the room stuff and get chased by exisals to the gym. (Another fun fact, due to a reading mistake i made, we have since called the exisals “exsials” like ex-ee-uls and i only noticed during chapter 5. Over 3/4s of the way through.)(im not going to pronounce it correctly ever)

Because we have the game muted, we have no clue whos talking because everyone is labeled ??? until the second half of the prologue, and after rantaro introduces himself i think. We each claim a couple characters, Rex claims noticeably less because they have the main character, kaede. The only other interesting thing in the first half is all of us shitting on ryoma for being short. the second half is when we meet all of the characters and get all roles assigned unequally because that would mean a plan, and plans are lame (this is a joke i love plans) some notable meets were with Maki, where after learning about her ultimate, Hero comments “so thats where your soul went”, and originally had a pick me girl voice, Rantaro, where I called him the ultimate empath and Hero used a stoner-surfer voice combo for him, Ryoma, whos voice at this point in time was the highest pitch british youve ever heard without a voice changer (it eventually changed to something a lot more like the official english voice), and finally poor Shuichi. During the entire beginning after they get their first memory we make fun of Shuichi a lot, call him the ultimate dork, ultimate wuss, and other funny things like that. The most notable however is when he stated something incredibly obvious, so Hero said “wow how did you figure that out, what are you, the ultimate detective?” And we laugh it off and skip around a bit because we were honestly not that enthusiastic about doing the exact same thing again. We skip to when kaede meets tsumugi and learn her talent. We realized we skipped over shuichis talent but didnt want to go back, so Rex looked it up bravely facing spoilers for us. Something something ultimate detective and we were FLABBERGASTED.

there were more funny things but im not going to rewatch it to find them

REX: Kaede, Keebo, Maki, Monokuma, Monokid and Monosuke

HERO: Rantaro, Ryoma, Tenko, Angie, Kiyo, Kokichi, Tsumugi, and Monotaro

AMNESIA: Shuichi, Kirumi, Gonta, Miu, Kaito, Himiko, Monophanie and Monodam

some notable silly bits were also: comparing kaito to the vocaloid, predicting kirumis murder, cheering the moment gonta mentioned entomology, Hero leaving during Mius intro and coming back to her saying shes going to drug herself to get high, Hero predicting them all being in space, the Tenko Tussle where Hero had her originally, i tried to take her but Hero took her back for some reason despite not wanting to voice her, tsumugi being immediately hated by all of us and being dubbed the ultimate nerd, both me and Hero constantly telling Rex that rantaro was giving off death flags, rantaros many names- ultimate idk, ultimate beats me, ultimate bogus, ultimate empath, ultimate weed, and ultimate boyfriend eventually, us screaming at ryoma being in the game room, us saying “i dont think we should have gotten a friendship fragment for that” after talking to kiyo, Hero calling kirumi super nanny, us cheering when angie said she was an artist, calling gonta the alpha because he was raised by wolves, the cage wall getting a “what is this, mcsm?” Someone said rehab amami??? When Rex checked for Shuichis ultimate, I wanted to avoid spoilers so i said “oh yea and he killed 8 people”reffering to us knowing nothing about the game, with Hero saying “also he killed 17 people in 1905”

What are some of you're favourite Sprite edits you've made Whether that be this year, or any over years you've been in the sprite editing business

Ok so I've made A LOT of edits over the years so it took a lil while for me to sort out the favorites and why exactly, but here it is so get ready for some rambling!

First things first i gotta say this isn't really organized from the one i like the most and least, i like all of these edits a whole lot and i really don't think i can pick one or two to be the favorite.

So let's start from the start (sorta) i have to give a spot to my Fantasy Au twins edits, it would be illegal to not put them in this list

The Sdra2 Fantasy Au was one of the first things i made in the fandom and i was attached to it for a long while. These are actually the 4th version of their sprites, out of all them only the 3rd had a full gallery of sprites and trust me they were complex since on top of posting i even made different tails and ears to move around depending on the emotion of the sprite.

Even tho i never finished this 4th take on them I'm pretty happy with the redesign (since as i grew older i realized some of my choices were questionable and i really should have thought more before just going with it, just keep in mind i was a dumb 14-15 year old then) and the improvement on graphical quality because not only does it show how much i improved in editing but also because editing the fantasy twins were my first really hard edits and i was always happy with how well i was able to translate their weird little designs to sprite form.

The Fantasy Au as a whole had a lot of edits with a bunch of complicated details that i never finshed and although I don't like them as much as the twins i do feel like they deserve to be shown somehere so have this pile of lizards, undead firemen and two human girls.

(fun fact; i didn't know how to add textures back then so see those scales on the dragons? I made them all by hand-)

Next one on the list has gotta be the Nijiue siblings! Crazy to think these guys are only 2-3 years old like it feels like they've been with me for ao much longer!

These guys where my first try at making Oc sprites since before all i did were Au stuff and they're very very dear to me, as you can probably guess by the amount of spites an different iterations i made of them over the years. While there are a few things i could improve upon them if i were to remake their edits nowadays, i never felt a strong need to do so because as it is their sprites hold up well imo so remaking them feels unnecessary to me.

And you know I can't really talk about them without mentioning the Voidswap Au and a couple tumblr blogs owned by friends of mine. After Voidswap's cancelation i didn't thought I'd ever use these guys for anything so to think that nowadays there's so many people who not only know these characters but care for them a lot out of seeing them in Asoot and Dfta more recently really fills me with joy! I'm glad y'all enjoy my silly siblings so much and obviously huge thanks to the mods for wanting to include them in their stories, I really couldn't be more thankful for that!

And since we're talking about the fam, let me add Mako to the list as an honorable mention of sorts, a i'm still very happy with how i made her adult designs especially the whole closed trenchcoat and open trenchcoat thing she has going on and how i was able to cary out the heart motif on both of them :]

This next one is one of my newer edits + a pretty simple one which is this Irl Sora design i made for mod Bubbles around early this year.

Honestly, I don't even know how to explain why i like it this much? Maybe it's because Sora is one of the characters from Sdra2 i still decently enjoy or because i had a fun time coming up with her design. I had in mind that i wanted something plain and simple just like her in-game one, just adapted to a more adult look. Rolled up sleeves to resemble her uniform's ones and a scarf to bring back the spark of red her old design had, i also gave her the short hair that post game Yuki has because it's still her body at the end of the day + i think butch-ish Sora looks pretty good :]

From simplicity we jump back into weirdness with these last ones because obviously i wouldn't leave my girls out of this list, what did you guys even expect?

Favoritism? Absolutely, by now I'm sure all of you know how much i like these two but focusing on the graphical side for once, I'm super proud of their designs, i think they fit with the weirdness of some of Linuj's design choices pretty well which in turn makes them look kinda legit? In my head at least. I also had a lot of fun working on their sprites, especially Beni's since it had been a long while since i last tried to really exaggerate expressions on sprites of my characters so that was really fun! + I'm super proud of the baby sprites i made of them too, almost as much as i like their standard/adult designs really.

really struggling with this lately. for years but gotten worse in the last few months. really feeling like i'm at my limit but keep pushing and finding a new limit but barely feeling okay any of the time now, just managing and pushing through with A Lot happening under the surface. (this does not undermine genuine conversations and time with friends, that is true good time <3 ) meeting new drs trying to figure out my scope of improvement. i want to know if i can 'give up' or if continuing my pushing so so hard with everything might yield results if i find the 'right' problem and thus a 'right' way to improve things (one that actually impacts my quality of life, not an arbitrary 'improvement' on abstract things such as physical therapy that may or may not be contributing to pain which may be contributing to tension headache which is triggering migraine, for example. as opposed to a physical therapy which would build strength that translates to my living my daily life outside of '10 minutes doing an exercise') really hard to have these conversations with drs who will discuss it in a proactive genuine way and not a 'this patient is noncompliant way' which would mean i lose access to the degree of care that i DO need such as medications to manage certain aspects of my conditions. really hard to tell when to 'give up' and if stopping spending energy on certain things that are meant to help will actually make me worse (e.g. might i 'lose' strength -> might i become even more limited in what i can do) i'm so tired. i don't even feel like i'm 'that' ill and people (nebulous word) don't even seem to realise it and a big chunk of that is probably my fault for failing to communicate it. the problems dot jpeg. whatever i gotta go hoover my house 👍 <- entire physical activity for the day that i am putting off because it exhausts me so much. always telling myself things will be brighter another time! i want to get to a more consistent place of things being brighter now. we continue!
