PREFACE
You are the kindest thing
that ever happened to me,
even if that is not how our tale is told.
When everyone else told me I was
destined to be a forgotten nymph
that nurtured flowers and turn meadows gold,
you saw that the ichor that resides in me
demanded its own throne.
You showed me
how a love like ours can turn
even the darkest, coldest realm
into the happiest of homes.
- Nikita Gill
INTRODUCTION
When I thought about my future, I was sure that I had the rest of my life vaguely planned out.
I would graduate from Forks High School in three years, then go to college in Seattle, or maybe Tacoma or Spokane — far enough away from Forks that I could truly start my own life but close enough to visit Charlie every weekend so he wouldn’t be lonely. I would finish my degree — which would probably be something in the sciences or maybe the arts — then I would start my career in my chosen field.
I would eventually find someone that I would want to spend the rest of my life with, someone I loved and who loved me just as much. We would probably get married at some point and maybe even have a kid or two down the road. I would come back to Forks every so often to visit my father with my family. It was always so easy to envision myself and my father and my family sitting in the living room, laughing and eating and watching some sports game on the TV. I thought that it was inevitable that I would always spend my holidays exactly like that — happy and surrounded by the people that I loved the most.
Then, my older sister moved up from Arizona to stay with us — and turned my entire life upside down.
I had no idea just how bad it had gotten until I was standing in a castle in Italy, convinced that I was about to die.
1. CONFESSIONS
Bella was waiting for me and Charlie at the front door when we finally made it home from the hospital. I was holding our father’s hand, trying to give him some sort of comfort as he tried to cope with the sudden loss of one of his closest friends, Harry Clearwater.
Bella wrapped her arms around his waist as soon as he was close enough. Dad pulled his hand away from mine to hug her tightly. I glanced down at the ground, swallowing down my emotions once again.
‘Charlie had a rough day,’ I reminded myself. ‘He didn’t mean to snub me by pulling his hand away.’
“I’m sorry about Harry, Dad,” Bella murmured.
“I’m really going to miss him,” he said.
“How’s Sue doing?”
Charlie sighed deeply and said, “She seems dazed, like she hasn’t grasped it yet. Sam’s staying with her. . . . Those poor kids. Leah’s just a year older than you, and Seth is only fourteen. . . .”
He kept his arm around Bella as he started towards the door again. I followed behind them silently.
“Um, Dad?” Bella began nervously. “You’ll never guess who’s here.”
Charlie and I both looked at Bella, then glanced around the street. Just as I spotted the shiny, black Mercedes parked a little down the street, a soft, high-pitched voice floated out of my house and raised the hair on the back of my neck.
“Hi, Charlie, Eve. I’m sorry I came at such a bad time.”
“Alice Cullen?” Charlie said. I glared at the pixie-like girl, my hands curling into fists as Charlie asked in amazement, “Alice, is that you?”
“It’s me. I was in the neighborhood.”
“Is Carlisle–”
“No, I’m alone.”
I clenched my jaw. My nails were digging into the palms of my hands so hard that I wondered if they would draw blood.
“She can stay here, can’t she?” Bella pleaded, looking up at Charlie and drawing my glare towards her. “I already asked her to.”
“Of course. We’d love to have you, Alice,” Charlie answered.
I scoffed and brushed past all three of them to finally head into the house. I could hear Alice say from outside, “Thank you, Charlie. I know it’s horrid timing.”
“No, it’s fine, really,” Charlie assured her as I began to climb the stairs and they moved inside. “I’m going to be really busy doing what I can for Harry’s family. It will be nice for the girls to have some company.”
Tears gathered in my eyes as I walked into my room and closed the door behind me.
What the hell was Bella thinking? Or Alice, or Charlie for that matter? They had to know that Alice Cullen was only going to stay for one night, maybe two, and then she would leave again. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that once she did leave, Bella was going to be destroyed and Charlie and I would be left to pick up her broken pieces yet again. My sister and father might still have soft spots for Alice, but I didn’t trust any of the Cullens anymore, not after how they had treated Bella.
I still didn’t understand how they could treat her so horribly. How could they all just disappear one day and not even return her calls or emails? How could Edward leave my sister out in the woods after breaking up with her? How could he leave without making sure that she at least made it back to the house safely?
How could any of them claim to have ever loved or cared about her at all?
After taking a quick shower the next morning, I walked downstairs to find Alice sitting with Charlie in the kitchen while he attempted to make breakfast. I leaned back against the counter beside him, watching warily as he poked the bacon frying in the pan.
Alice asked quietly, “How bad was it?”
I shot her a nasty look as Charlie sighed and said, “Real bad.”
“Tell me about it. I want to know exactly what happened when we left.”
I looked down at my sock-clad feet as I crossed my arms securely over my chest. I tried to control my breathing as I blinked back tears.
Charlie hesitated before he spoke. “I’ve never felt so hopeless. I didn’t know what to do — neither of us did. That first week. . . . I thought I was going to have to hospitalize her. She wouldn’t eat or drink, she wouldn’t move. Dr. Gerandy was throwing around words like ‘catatonic,’ but I didn’t let him up to see her. I was afraid it would scare her.”
“She snapped out of it, though?” Alice asked.
“I was going to have Renée come to take her to Florida. I just didn’t want to be the one . . . if she had to go to a hospital or something,” Charlie explained. “I hoped being with her mother would help. But when she heard her mother was on her way and we started packing her clothes, she woke up with a vengeance. I’ve never seen Bella throw a fit like that. She was never one for tantrums, but boy did she fly into a fury. . . . She threw her clothes everywhere and screamed that we couldn’t make her leave . . . and then she finally started crying. I thought that would be the turning point. I didn’t argue when she insisted on staying here . . . and she did seem to get better at first. . . .”
“But?” Alice prompted when he trailed off.
He sighed. “She went back to school and work, she ate and slept and did her homework. She answered when someone asked her a direct question. . . . But she was . . . empty. Her eyes were blank. There were lots of little things — she wouldn’t listen to music anymore. I found a bunch of CDs broken in the trash. She didn’t read, she wouldn’t be in the same room when the TV was on, not that she watched it so much before. I finally figured it out . . . she was avoiding everything that might remind her of . . . him.”
I dug my fingernails into my arms at the mere mention of Edward. My hatred for him had soaked into every cell of my body after the way he had destroyed my sister. Somehow, I just knew that he knew how depressed Bella would get if he left her. He just didn’t care.
“We could hardly talk,” Charlie continued. “Eve and I were so worried about saying something that would upset her — the littlest things would make her flinch — and she never volunteered anything. She would just answer if I asked her something. . . . She was alone all the time, even with us here. She didn’t call her friends back, and after a while, they stopped calling. It was night of the living dead around here. I still hear her screaming in her sleep. . . .”
My chest tightened as Bella’s tortured screams echoed through my mind. Tears pricked my eyes and I blinked them back once again. Bella’s nightmares had been the singular most horrid thing about the Cullens leaving. It was as if their disappearance from Forks had traumatized her more than anything else ever could.
“I’m so sorry, Charlie,” Alice said.
I bit back the acidic comment I wanted to spit at her as my father replied, “It’s not your fault. You were always a good friend to her.”
I scoffed, quietly enough that Charlie couldn’t hear me.
Alice’s eyes flickered towards me for a moment before she looked back at Charlie. She said, “She seems better now, though.”
“Yeah,” he agreed. “Ever since she started hanging out with Jacob Black, I’ve noticed a real improvement. She has some color in her cheeks when she comes home, some light in her eyes. She’s happier. . . . He’s Eve’s age, so he’s a year younger than her, and I know Bella used to think of him as a friend, but I think maybe it’s something more now, or headed that direction, anyway. Right, Eve?”
I gave him a small smile and said placatingly, “Yeah, maybe.”
But the moment he looked away, my smile disappeared. It was a wistful dream. It was true that there seemed to be something between them, but the one thing I had learned during this whole nightmare was that Edward would always hold Bella’s heart in his hands, no matter how much he hurt her. I hated him for it.
“Jake’s old for his years,” Charlie said, almost defensively. “He’s taken care of his father physically the way Bella took care of her mother emotionally. It matured him. He’s a good-looking kid, too — takes after his mom’s side. He’s good for Bella, you know.”
“Then it’s good she has him.”
Charlie sighed and I could almost see the way his façade crumbled at Alice’s words.
“Okay, so I guess that’s overstating things. I don’t know — even with Jacob, now and then I see something in her eyes, and I wonder if I’ve ever grasped how much pain she’s really in. It’s not normal, Alice, and it . . . it frightens me. Not normal at all. Not like someone . . . left her, but like someone died.”
My heart throbbed painfully in my chest when I heard Charlie’s voice crack. He had never been a very emotional man, so hearing the strain in his voice hurt me. Gently and wordlessly, I nudged him away from the stove and took over cooking breakfast myself. Charlie said nothing, but the way his hand lingered on mine for a few moments conveyed his appreciation better than his words could have.
“I don’t know if she’s going to get over it. . . . I’m not sure if it’s in her nature to heal from something like this. She’s always been such a constant little thing. She doesn’t get past things, changer her mind,” he said.
“She’s one of a kind,” Alice agreed. I threw a glare at her over my shoulder, even though I wasn’t quite sure why her comment bothered me so much.
“And Alice,” Charlie hesitated, then said, “Now, you know how fond I am of you, and I can tell that she’s happy to see you, but . . . I’m a little worried about what your visit will do to her.”
“So am I, Charlie, so am I,” she sighed. “I wouldn’t have come if I’d had any idea. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize, honey. Who knows? maybe it will be good for her.”
“I hope you’re right.”
I shook my head, choosing to remain silent. Of course Alice’s visit wouldn’t be good for Bella. Alice would eventually leave and shatter the few delicate parts of Bella that had somehow managed to heal.
“Alice, I have to ask you something.”
I glanced at Charlie as I began to plate his breakfast. Alice said, “Go ahead.”
“He’s not coming back to visit, too, is he?”
Charlie sounded about as furious as I felt. I knew our rage had to be on nearly the same level. I didn’t think either of us would hesitate to rip Edward a new one if he dared to show his face around here again.
“He doesn’t even know I’m here. The last time I spoke with him, he was in South America.”
I scoffed openly this time and Charlie snorted. I placed his plate in front of him as he commented bitterly, “That’s something, at least. Well I hope he’s enjoying himself.”
Alice tensed and replied steelily, “I wouldn’t make assumptions.”
I had been reading a book upstairs when I heard the shouting. I quickly set my book aside and rushed downstairs. I followed the noise to the living room, where I found Bella, Alice, and Jacob Black. My wide eyes glanced between them, watching as Jacob shouted profanities at Alice, who was ignoring him, a strange look of horror and determination etched onto her face. Bella looked horrified, even more so than when she had the nightmares that made her wake up screaming.
“What’s going on?” I asked worriedly.
“Alice?” Bella said weakly. “What happened?”
“I don’t know!” Alice exclaimed. “What is he thinking?”
She pulled a cellphone from her handbag. My jaw dropped as I watched her dial a number so quickly that her fingers blurred together. How in the hell was it even possible for her to move that fast?
“Rose, I need to talk to Carlisle now. . . . Fine, as soon as he’s back. No, I’ll be on a plane. Look, have you heard anything from Edward?”
As Rosalie Cullen answered Alice’s question, the tiny girl’s face grew more and more appalled by the second. The phone shook in her hand. I looked at Bella, hoping that she would notice my confusion and explain what was happening, but her eyes were locked onto Alice.
“Why? Why would you do that, Rosalie?” A silent moment passed, then Alice spoke again, “Well, you’re wrong on both counts, though, Rosalie, so that would be a problem, don’t you think? Yes, that’s right. She’s absolutely fine . . . I was wrong. . . . It’s a long story. . . . But you’re wrong about that part, too, that’s why I’m calling. . . . Yes, that’s exactly what I saw. . . . It’s a bit late for that, Rose. Save your remorse for someone who believes it.”
She snapped the phone shut and turned back towards Bella.
Bella said, “Alice, Alice, Carlisle is back, though. He called just before–”
“How long ago?”
“Half a minute before you showed up.”
“What did he say?”
“I didn’t talk to him.”
Alice and Bella turned expectantly towards Jacob, and I mirrored them. He flinched, but he didn’t move away from Bella’s side. My mind was whirling, trying to understand what was happening — or what had happened. Nothing about this made sense.
“He asked for Charlie, and I told him Charlie wasn’t here,” Jacob muttered.
“Is that everything?” Alice demanded coldly.
“Then he hung up on me.”
Bella said in a soft voice, “You told him Charlie was at the funeral.”
Alice’s head snapped towards my sister. “What were his exact words?”
“He said, ‘He’s not here,’ and when Carlisle asked where Charlie was, Jacob said, ‘At the funeral.’”
Alice moaned in pain and fell to her knees. I took a step back in shock, glancing between her and Bella and Jacob in confusion.
“Tell me, Alice,” Bella whispered.
“That wasn’t Carlisle on the phone.”
“Are you calling me a liar?” Jacob snarled. Alice ignored him, her unblinking gaze locked on Bella’s face as she explained, “It was Edward. He thinks you’re dead.”
Bella sighed as she relaxed. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why would Edward think that Bella was dead? Why was Alice so clearly distraught? Why was Bella suddenly so calm about this?
“Rosalie told him I killed myself, didn’t she?”
“Yes. In her defense, she did believe it. They rely on my sight far too much for something that works so imperfectly. But for her to track him down to tell him this! Didn’t she realize — or care?”
“And when Edward called here, he thought Jacob meant my funeral.”
“You’re not upset,” Alice whispered.
“Well, it’s rotten timing, but it will all get straightened out,” Bella replied. “The next time he calls, someone will tell him what really. . . .”
She trailed off, her brown eyes widening slightly as she took in the genuine horror on Alice’s face.
“Bella, Edward won’t call again,” Alice said slowly. “He believed her.”
“I don’t understand,” Bella said, her voice so quiet that I could only barely make out the words.
“He’s going to Italy.”
For a single moment, everything seemed to be frozen. No one moved or spoke. Then, Bella shrieked, “NO! No! No, no, no! He can’t! He can’t do that!”
“He made up his mind as soon as your friend confirmed that it was too late to save you.”
“But he — he left! He didn’t want me anymore! What difference does it make now? He knew I would die sometime!”
Alice said quietly, “I don’t think he ever planned to outlive you by long.”
“How dare he!” Bella screamed, jumping to her feet. Jacob stood up beside her, attempting to put himself between her and Alice. “Oh, get out of the way, Jacob!” She elbowed her way around him and begged Alice, “What do we do? Can’t we call him? Can Carlisle?”
She shook her head. “That was the first thing I tried. He left his phone in a trash can in Rio — someone answered it.”
“You said before we had to hurry. Hurry how? Let’s do it, whatever it is!”
“Bella, I-I don’t think I can ask you to. . . .”
“Ask me!”
Alice put her hands on Bella’s shoulders, her voice deadly serious as she spoke. “We may already be too late. I saw him going to the Volturi — and asking to die. It all depends on what they choose. I can’t see that until they make a decision. But if they say no, and they might — Aro is fond of Carlisle, and wouldn’t want to offend him — Edward has a backup plan. They’re very protective of their city. If Edward does something to upset the peace, he thinks they’ll act to stop him. And he’s right. They will.”
Bella just stared at Alice for a moment. Her jaw was clenched, her expression seemingly frustrated.
“So, if they agree to grant his favor, we’re too late. If they say no, and he comes up with a plan to offend them quickly enough, we’re too late. If he gives into his more theatrical tendencies — we might have time. . . . Let’s go!”
“Listen, Bella!” Alice exclaimed. “Whether we are on time or not, we will be in the heart of the Volturi city. I will be considered his accomplice if he is successful. You will be a human who not only knows too much, but also smells too good. There’s a very good chance that they will eliminate us all — though in your case, it won’t be punishment so much as dinnertime.”
“This is what’s keeping us here?” Bella asked. “I’ll go alone if you’re afraid.”
“I’m only afraid of getting you killed.”
“I almost get myself killed on a daily basis! Tell me what I need to do!”
“You write a note to Charlie. I’ll call the airlines.”
“STOP!” I yelled. All three of them turned towards me, their eyes wide as if they had forgotten that I was even in the room with them. “What the fuck is going on? What are you talking about? Bella, you can’t just go to Italy!”
“There’s no time–”
I cut Alice off, “I’m not letting you take my sister all the way to Italy, where you said that she is probably going to die unless you tell me what is really going on!”
“The Cullens are vampires,” Bella said. My eyes widened and I opened my mouth to speak, but Bella rambled on before I could say a single word. “I’ve known about them and what they are since Edward and I got close last year. . . . The Volturi are like their government, or royalty, or something in between, I’m not really sure. They have laws that all vampires are supposed to follow, like not letting humans know that vampires exist. . . . Edward thinks I’m dead because Alice saw me jump off the cliff — oh, yeah, some vampires have special powers, so that’s how Alice can see the future. Edward is going to ask the Volturi to kill him. . . . I need to go. I need to save him, Eve.”
“Bella–”
“Eve, I can’t lose him!” she insisted, tears in her eyes. Her lip trembled and her voice broke as she begged, “Please, please, just this once put yourself in my shoes and help me.”
I flinched at her words and my heart stung sharply in my chest. These past few months, my whole life had revolved around helping my sister. But, like always, I pushed aside my own feelings and swallowed my thoughts in order to help my family.
“Fine,” I sighed. “But, I’m going with you. I’m not letting you do this by yourself.”
“No,” Alice insisted, shaking her head. “It’s too risky.”
I glared at her. “Either I’m coming with you, or I’ll call Charlie home from work right now.”
“Please, Alice,” Bella mumbled, taking my hand in hers. “Just let her come with. We need to go.”
Alice stared at me for a long moment, a blank expression on her face, before she sighed.
“Hurry.”

Fixed Dawn
Summary: Twilight, Jasper Hale/Reader, Jasper and you get stuck in the same situation as Bella and Edward
”Y/N, you alright?”
“Yeah fine, why?” You look up from where you’re cuddled on the couch; it’s snowing outside and you’re happy to be huddled under the blankets away from the cold.
“You sure?”
“Yeah; I told you it’s just my period.”
“You’ve never thrown up before on it..”
“I know but I do get nauseous; it was only a matter of time until it actually happened and I ate the wrong thing.” Jasper doesn’t look convinced and you roll your eyes.
“Fine I’ll take the stupid pregnancy test; we were careful though; used protection and everything; unless you’re telling me vampires are just like apparently superhuman when it comes to knocking up girls.” You laugh a little and Jasper isn’t scowling but he doesn’t look happy.
“You know what’s going to happen right?”
“Yeah; if I’m pregnant I have to drink blood and be on bed rest and get a c-section; minus the blood that’s something that happens with regular human pregnancies. Which isn’t going to happen anyways cause I’m not pregnant.”
“Well fuck.” Jasper would laugh if it wasn’t for the sudden spike in nerves from both of you.
“So you want to tell your dad?”
“Yeah; Uh, just going to…”
“Jasper I can’t believe you knocked up.. Oh hello, I’m Peter; this is Charlotte; we’re Jasper’s friends”
“You called your friends??”
“Yeah; how am I supposed to call Carlisle if I have no idea how I should tell him.”
“So you want to use them to practice on?”
“Yeah; plus I wanted them to meet you, figure it would be a little easier pre-pregnancy.”
“Because everyone is going to make me stay in bed?”
“Well yes; but also because if you think I’m letting anyone that could harm you within striking range you should think a little longer.”
“I doubt Peter and Charlotte would attack me.”
“I know they wouldn’t but I’d rather not risk it.”
“Alight, fine.”
“Call your family.”
“No..”
“I’ll call Rose…”
“Y/N no; we tell her last.”
“We do?”
“Well you want her to be the godmother right?”
“Me, wanting my best friend, and your adopted sister to be the godmother to your child? And here I thought Edward was the mind reader.” You playfully hold your hands up and Jasper narrows his eyes at your smug smile.
“What?”
“I just realized, you’ll be able to feel my mood swings.” You laugh when horror crosses Jasper's face.
You make it back to your city, nervous about telling your family. Jasper is convinced that you shouldn’t; that they could fake your death; maybe his as well, and say you never came home from the trip.
You cringe how easy it is to fake your death; you and Jasper went on a hike and just never came home. Which is partly true; you’re both still at the vacation home, Carlisle has moved up as has Rosalie; both are easily able to take time off from college and work.
You grimace a little when Rosalie pushes the cup towards you.
“Come on; I did try to find a lid, but we’re all out.”
“Okay, fine.” You still grimace no matter how much your body and baby are screaming in thanks. You hadn’t lost much weight; but enough that Carlise had decided you needed to double up on your blood intake. Which is what Rosalie was pushing you to drink.
”Y/N you okay?”
“Same as always; just tired.”
“Not nervous?”
“A little.” You know there’s no point in lying to him; you’re worried; not that Carlisle won’t do his job, not that Jasper won’t be a good dad; but that you won’t be a good mom for your child. A half vampire, means half that you won’t understand. Carlisle had said he was happy to change you; you were already dead to everyone in your family; but you were still unsure.
You wanted to give your kid the best chance and you were worried that the time it would take the bite to affect you, you’d miss out on too much of their growth; so for now, at least until it could be explained you were going to remain human. Which presents a whole new set of challenges, one the Cullens, your new family, are happy to help with.

Part 2
Embry Call x Swan FemReader (not use of Y/N)
Summary: You love your sister till your last breath, but never realized how far her lifestyle will ever affect you.
Warnings for the entire fic: Depression, angst, death and it’s a little bit fluffy till it ain’t. Sad ending.
Twilight masterlist.
This fic masterlist.
Chapter 1 | Chapter 3>
"Bella still the same, what about you? Are you feeling better?" You asked Embry, lately he had been feeling very strange; He told you that he had hit a sudden growth spurt that his mother always made him notice, spells of very high fever and drastic mood swings, which was completely unnatural for him. It was for those reasons that he wouldn't let you go see him. He forbade you to get close to him in that state, so you only kept in touch via calls.
"Better actually, today mom will take the afternoon and evening shift, so I'll stay all day watching those ridiculous movies that you like"
You had your mouth full of food, but that didn't stop you from replying "Hey! Don't you dare call the Star Wars movies ridiculous, unless you want me to dump you, because in which case you do a good job"
You had forced Embry to watch all the Star Wars movies one weekend when you were staying at his house. He didn't look particularly bored with them, just that it was a no-brainer that he'd rather spend his time on something more interesting; spending the whole night pestering you with neck kisses that soon turned into something else, causing both of you to leave the subject of movies for the following weekend.
You heard Embry's shrill laugh on the other end of the line. "Okay, sorry, I'll stop calling your beloved Jedi movies ridiculous."
"Okay, so you're still in a relationship. HEY! You still haven't told me what you plan to do for your birthday" he had to move the phone away from his ear when he heard your little accusatory cry.
His birthday was coming up soon and you were very excited about the event. You had planned the gift of him weeks in advance and you were already very anxious to give it to him.
"Just a little celebration with Jake, Quil and you, of course, here at home"
"Great, I'll give you my gift and you'll love it" you affirmed with a smile.
There was a rattle across the line as if he was setting something up "If it has to do with food; hand it over to me when Quil's not around, we both know he'll steal everything" You guys laughed at that, Quil always eat all the boys food, and you didn't know if their appetite was due to gluttony or the simple desire to annoy their friends.
You were sitting at the kitchen table with your eyes on the empty bowl before you, when your father peeked through the door and waved for you to go to the living room, you nodded towards him and quickly he walked away "Honey… I have to go now" you said with a little twinge of guilt.
"Will you call me tomorrow?" he asked.
"Of course I do" you said "I call you practically every day"
He laughed "Okay, bye love"
"Goodbye"
You ended the call and walked to the room where your father was waiting for you on the couch. You sat softly next to his as you watched him with his elbows resting on his knees, supporting his chin. These past few months he had been so tired from work and Bella's depressive state that when he found a little moment of rest at night, he was pulled out of it by your sister's screams. He was immersed in a state of excessive and constant worry, depriving him of sleep and other basic necessities during the day.
Your father snapped his fingers as he sat up straighter. "I'll tell Bella to go back to Jacksonville," he snapped, and despite saying it as a statement, his face was more of a question.
"I don't think she wants to do it dad" you said softly. Bella really hoped that Edward or some other Cullen would come back, if she went with your mother there was no way any of them would go looking for her there.
"It's just that… He won't come back, and I don't know what to do anymore" he ran his hands roughly over his face, his dark circles and disheveled hair were a clear indication of the exhaustion, not only mental but also physical that he was going through "Your sister is not improving and she is absorbing you"
"Dad, she's not abs-" you tried to speak but were cut off by him.
"She does it" all his body language changed from him; He sat up facing you, his fists clenched, intense eye contact, a frown and a slight rise in his voice, "You stopped dating everyone you knew, your grades dropped because you focused on Bella and you make the time to shower her when she hasn't showered for days. You just molded your life around hers."
You didn't know what to say, it was completely true but you hadn't even realized that until your father marked it. You made an effort to satisfy Bella in everything and especially in those things that she couldn't do for herself; You didn't want to upset her or do something to add to all the pain she was feeling, even at your own expense.
Your father seemed to realize that it was a bit harsh, so he walked over to you and put his arm around your shoulders "I'm sorry about that… but this is getting too much for everyone, your mother will know how to handle this situation better"
You rested your head on his shoulder "I'll support you in any decision dad, but I honestly think it will get better here and not in Jacksonville. Give her a little more time, let her see for herself that Edward won't be back" your father took your hand "Tell her anyway, listen to what she has to tell you"

You heard Bella's truck pull up so you hurried down to meet her. When you caught up with her, she stopped you and handed over the keys to her truck.
You took them in your hand with a frown. "Umm, do you want me to park your truck?"
"I'm going shopping with Jessica, I told her to pick me up so you can take the truck and see Embry" Bella tried to smile at you.
"Bella…are you sure? Not really-" she cut you off.
"Go, I'll be fine"
"But…you hate shopping." You made a face at her.
"I'll be fine, I'll buy you some things too" You got so excited that you rushed over to Bella to hug her.
"I love you so much Bella" you kissed her forehead, before running upstairs to put everything you'd need in your bag.
When you got out, you asked your father for permission and ran to the truck as soon as he said yes, throwing the things on the passenger seat. After a long drive, you parked outside Embry's house and grabbed your things before heading out, watching the living room lights on from outside.
The door to his house opened and there he was, looking surprised even as he ran to hug you; lifting you off the ground and spinning with you in his arms.
"What are you doing here?" He asked with his face buried in your neck.
"Bella told me to come see you, she handed me her truck and everything, she said she would be fine for today"
Embry broke away from your embrace and placed both hands on your face. You closed your eyes as you absorbed the sensation of his touch and the scent of wood from him. You had begun to forget these little details about him, things so insignificant that made you feel calm, happy. You didn't want to forget those things anymore.
When you opened your eyes and met his soft gaze, feelings of fear, uncertainty, and anger hit you. With Embry you felt an immense joy that you had set aside due to decisions of others, responsibilities that were not yours… But you feared that you had given your whole heart to Embry just as your sister did with Edward, you feared to share all the good and bad things about you with him, only to be abandoned afterwards. But you also didn't want to deprive yourself of the love he had for you, so you just let all your doubts go.
And that became your favorite day; the scent of him, the way he held you protectively even if there were no dangers around, the sound of his heart as you rested your head on his chest, his lips on yours, his hands on your waist That night they told each other that they loved each other for the first time.
That night, your favorite… was the last you would have in a long time.

I liked the SI of you into twilight. Idk if this has been asked before, but what if you or therealvinelle woke up as Bella on the day she met Edward?
Anon is referring to this post.
Well, I was placed in New Moon this one time. But I guess that doesn't count.
I'll let @therealvinelle answer for herself after I post this, though likely my answer will suffice for us both.
What Do I Do?
Well, since you gave me a loop hole: it's the day Bella meets Edward, not the second she meets him. I skip school and tell Charlie, you know what, I love you dad, but I'm going home to Renee.
Charlie will be heartbroken, but understand, he probably didn't expect me to stay anyway given how little I've seen him over the past few years.
Renee will be very disappointed for a few months, but she can deal, the important thing is that I will never meet Edward in Biology.
Come On, Muffin, That's No Fun
To avoid the deluge of asks where you people pester me to take this seriously, I'll guess we get into it.
I awaken in Bella Swan's body, standing in Biology, and it's too late: Edward Cullen is there smelling me. Oh dear Jesus.
Well, first off, I'm likely very confused. I'm in very new surroundings where I've never been before, in what appears to be a high school, and I appear to have shrunk.
While Edward's a crystallized demon, I imagine my first thought is not that I am Bella Swan and smell delicious to fictional vampires. That probably happens after class when I walk away in a daze and look at my wallet.
What do I do then?
Well, I have a few options.
I could leave and return to Renee. My hope would be that my disappearance would give Edward pause: he'd be mortified, of course, but it'd be hard to explain to his family why he has to go to Phoenix right now to find the delicious girl.
However... He would.
Edward notes he would hunt that scent across the earth. More, at that point, he was utterly humiliated and emasculated. He felt his pride had been sorely wounded by Bella's mere existence: he's now being compared to Jasper. This won't stand.
Going to Phoenix, Edward's a shitty tracker but I'd be far too easy to find. He'd come and I would die a horrible death if not Renee and Phil as well.
So, that's not going to work.
I could go to the Volturi early, but that would condemn me to vampirism and servitude to the Volturi, which I don't actually want (vampirism has little appeal to me). So I'd prefer not to go there either.
Staying in Forks though... I know how that turns out, and it will very likely be with my horrific death and the death of many others.
As Bella Swan... this may simply be my fate. Despite the death toll that will amount from my future victims (even should I successfully follow Carlisle's diet on my own), I head to Volterra in the week that Edward is in Alaska.
When he returns, I have disappeared off the face of the earth. He might be suspected of murder, given his strange interactions and own, simultaneous, disappearance but there's no evidence to tie him to me (and indeed, I mysteriously bought a ticket to Italy).
The mystery likely drives Edward mad but he'll never know and simply have to live with that.

summary:
“I’m not scared.”
“No?” The sharp points of his fangs graze your skin and you swallow down your whimper, head falling back against the wall. You’re not scared of what Jaemin could do to you.
You’re scared of what you want him to do to you.
notes: big thanks to @jaemallow for pushing the jaemin agenda and helping to keep me sane
“Come on, we’re going to be late.” Mark grumbles at you, throwing an agitated glance over his shoulder. You roll your eyes and slow down even more just to spite him. “Dude, my dad’s going to kill me.” “He’ll be fine. Murder’s against the word of God, y’know.” You speed up despite your words, laughing at the way Mark glares at you.
There’s a crack in the sidewalk that he trips over and you laugh good naturedly. The street leading up to the church is in less than optimal shape, littered with cracks in the sidewalk and missing chunks of cement. Mark’s dad had tried to raise money to fix the street, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Mark starts walking slower all of a sudden and you grumble, glaring at him when he grabs your wrist to yank you backwards. You’re about to ask what his problem is when you see the three figures at the end of the road, moving closer towards you two.
“You’re kidding me.” They hear it, they must, with their superhuman senses. It only makes them smile brighter. You glance at Mark. “Wanna turn around?”
“Too late.” Mark breathes, staring straight ahead of him with wide eyes. You look away from him to find the three vampires standing directly in front of you, blocking your way.
A groan leaves you and you cross your arms, raising your eyebrows expectantly. “Can we help you?”
The ringleader of the bunch, Jaemin, smiles. “Well, since you’re offering, I suppose I am feeling a little hungry.”
The church is only one block down but if they don’t want to let you pass, you’re not going to get there. Mark shifts nervously next to you, shaking his head when you open your mouth to make a remark. That doesn’t stop you from saying it. “You realize that just because you’re from the 1200’s doesn’t mean that you have to talk like you’re from the 1200’s.”
“I resent that.” Jaemin frowns, clutching his hands to his chest likes he’s been stabbed. “I was born in 1706. It’s almost like you don’t care about me at all.”
“Is it? Must be because I don’t.” The other two vampires are silent, though one of them- Jeno- watches with amusement. The other one is unfamiliar and looks like he’s trying to figure out to pair you with white or red wine. You shudder and turn your attention to Jeno. “Nice cross. I thought shit like that burned your skin? You know, because you’re a demon and all that.”
Jeno’s eyes smile with him and it’s hard to remember that he’s a monster. He brushes his thumb against the small mark under his eye, shrugging. “Nah, only the blessed ones. Or, y’know, the silver ones. But this one? I just wanted to piss off the church daddy who told me that I deserved to rot in worse places than the sewer.“
You snort before you can stop yourself. “Church daddy?”
He waves a dismissive hand. “Church daddy, father, same thing.” A pause. “Hey, Mark, isn’t that your dad?”
Mark avoids eye contact and nods. “Yeah, but I like, I don’t like, speak for him, y’know?” He laughs nervously.
“You don’t have to.” That’s the one you don’t recognize, glaring at Mark. “We can tell it’s what you’re thinking. You don’t even have the decency to look at us?”
“And who are you? Their vampire bitch or something?” You snap to Mark’s defense, not wanting the vampires to prey on Mark’s nerves.
The boy lunges like he’s going to attack you but Jeno grabs him by the neck. Jaemin laughs. “Careful princess, that hits a little too close to home for our little Renjun over here.” To clarify, he leans a little closer and lowers his voice. Not like it matters, the other two can hear him just fine. “Jeno got carried away while feeding the other day and turned him.”
Your eyes widen in surprise and this time you don’t have a witty comeback. Vampires are monsters, yes, but they have laws. And it is very, very illegal to turn a human. “That’s-”
“Against the law?” Jeno finishes. “Yeah. It was an accident though, plus he’s from out of town! So I can’t technically get in trouble.”
“Technically.” You mock, rolling your eyes. “Whatever, we’ve got places to be so if we could speed this conversation up?”
Jaemin pouts. “So soon? You’re already late for church, why even bother going?”
You stand your ground. “Good bye, Jaemin. Make sure you do a better job of training your new puppy.” Renjun snarls at you.
“What, like how you trained your puppy?” Jaemin nods over at Mark and the boys face turns red. “Bye, y/n, Mark. I’d ask you to say hello to God for me but he doesn’t exist!”
He walks off with that as a goodbye, Renjun and Jeno on his heels. Jeno at least has the decency to smile at you and tell you to have a good rest of your day.
They’re right about one thing: going to church when you‘re already late sucks. A few people glance back at you and Mark when you sneak in, sitting in the last row. You spot your parents sitting in the front row along with Mark’s brother. Luckily none of them notice you slipping in, so they won’t know just how late you were.
Mark seems on edge and you pat his knee, frowning at how violently he flinches. You raise an eyebrow, silently asking if he’s okay. He just gives you a tight smile. Mark’s always been a nervous kid, so you figure it has to do with the little vampire interaction you just had. Or fear that his dad will yell at him for being late. They’re both pretty scary.
It’s not until after the service that you talk to your parents- your mother taking the time to hug Mark and pinch his cheeks before she even looks at you- and your father asks where you were.
“It was my fault, sir.” Mark speaks up, knowing that your parents adore him and won’t be upset. “I couldn’t find my church clothes, I forgot that they were in the wash and had to sort through all of my laundry. Y/n was an angel and stayed with me to help.”
“Huh,” Your father says, looking Mark up and down. “Well, your shoes could use a good polishing, but you look sharp, kid. Good man.” He pats Mark’s shoulder and walks off to talk to a friend. Your mother raises an eyebrow and shrugs, loading you up with tasks to take care of when you get home.
Do the dishes, fold the laundry, remember to take the store bought pie out of the container and pop it onto a plate so that it looks homemade. “Oh, and one last thing.” She stops you, turning away from her conversation about her book club meeting with some lady that she can’t stand. “I don’t want you walking through the city. Those vampires are getting braver and braver, attacking in broad daylight.”
“Okay, I’ll take the long way.” You promise her. She nods, and satisfied that you won’t die, turns back to her friends. You say goodbye to Mark and a handful of other people- most of whom you don’t like- and head home.
You have absolutely no intention of taking the long way home. It adds an extra half an hour to your walk and you swear you always get attacked by bugs. Besides, vampires might be dangerous, but it’s not like you have a high chance of encountering one. The three you’d talked to earlier were harmless, two of them attending your same university.
Jeno did medical research, occasionally stepping in to teach if the professors needed help. He’s technically a doctor, but he finds ways to multitask. The benefits of being immortal, you suppose, is that you learn a lot, especially if you’ve been alive since the 1100’s. He was nice enough by himself, though he would never answer your questions about history. Not that he wouldn’t try, but the poor guy would just get so confused that he would end up rambling about a completely unrelated topic.
Jaemin was a little different. He took classes, though his goal was to learn about interesting topics and keep up with the culture, not to fit in like Edward Cullen and prey on teenage girls. For someone so old, he’s surprisingly good at the technology classes, learning how to use a camera faster than your much younger parents. Jaemin also holds tutoring sessions for struggling students, pretty much offering help for every subject. Sometimes he assists Jeno with his research, though he never says what they’re researching. It’s always the same vague answer: medicine.
You know them pretty well, and yet you wouldn’t say that you’re friends. Vampires and humans coexist, but it’s not always that peaceful. There’s a definite divide between the two, a definite feeling of “we’re better than them” coming from both sides. And you can see why that divide is there, you can understand why.
After all, it’s not like you’re too fond of vampires yourself.
Cursed to hell, is a phrase used too often by your parents, by the church. God’s reject’s is another. And when you look at them, it’s hard to disagree with those statements.
They don’t burn in the sun but they can’t touch silver, can’t say God’s name, can’t enter a building without explicit permission. They catch on fire when they enter holy places (they’re fine to enter the one across town, but that’s another story).
Similar insults are used to describe humans. “How can you call us God’s rejects when you die so easily?” One vampire had countered when you were in middle school, pointing out that vampires couldn’t get diseases or die of natural causes like a human. He’d called you weak. You’d thrown a cross at him. Both of you had been suspended.
Still, you don’t hate vampires. And you especially can’t hate vampires now, not when you’re failing your chemistry class and your only option for help is Na Jaemin.
Mark has a different opinion. “Y/n, you can’t go to his house! He’ll kill you!”
You laugh. “Mark, come on. It’s either he kills me, or my parents kill me when they find out I wasted my tuition on a class I failed. It’ll be fine.” He still looks unhappy. You wiggle your fingers at him. “Look! I have silver rings on. I’m wearing my cross. I’ll be fine.”
“I’m not going to be the one telling your parents you were killed by a vampire, y/n.” He sounds dead serious and you raise your eyebrows.
“Mark, I’m helping with a research project. I’m not deciding to work for the food bank.” You point out. “This is the only way I can make up my grade, Mark. It’s generous of my professor to even let me do this.” He sighs, knowing there’s no arguing with you, and pulls his necklace off. Walking closer, he drapes the silver cross over your head. “Fine. Just, please be careful.” You smile and pat his cheek, tucking the charm under the collar of your shirt. “I always am.”
Jaemin lives in a pretty nice house on the top of the hill, which sucks because your calves are burning by the time you get up there. It has a pretty view, though, and it’s a decent distance away from his closest neighbor. You always joke that he could kill someone up here. Going up alone, that joke doesn’t seem as funny.
He’s got an old fashioned knocker on the wooden door that you only use because you’re not too fond of digging splinters out of your hands. It makes a pretty solid sound, and it barely takes five seconds before Jaemin answers the door. He looks good, wearing a dark blue button up with his hair pushed off of his forehead. Almost like he put some effort in. He obviously catches you giving him a once over and he grins.
“Eager to see me?” You tease, stepping past him into his house. He laughs, rolling his eyes.
“Oh, of course. The world revolves around you, I just had to get a glimpse.” Jaemin drawls.
“Alright, what’s the research project?” You ask, wanting to get straight to the point. “I’m only here because I need to pass my class, Jaemin.
He takes his time flipping through a book on his coffee table before glancing up at you, rolling his sleeves up to his forearms. “The effects of vampire blood in humans.”
Your eyebrows skyrocket. “If you say that you’re making me drink your blood, we’re going to have a problem.”
“Fucking hell, y/n. I know you humans have a problem with vampires, but I’m a researcher. I do research, and I do it just as responsibly and professionally as human researchers.” Jaemin snaps, and it’s probably the first time you’ve ever heard him not use a flirting or teasing tone. “And besides, we already know what that would do. It would only turn you.” You swallow thickly at the thought of being turned. “Then what do you need me here for?” “We just need a few of your cells and a tiny blood sample.” Jaemin says, moving to where you stand next to the counter. “We’re researching if vampire blood has an effect on strengthening human cells, or preventing undesirable circumstances that affect humans. You know, aging, disease, the like.” He hands you some paperwork and you glance over it briefly. There’s nothing about him draining you dry of blood, so you sign it. “Great. We won’t be taking the samples today considering we’re at my house, but I’ll walk you through the basics of what we’re doing. You know, assuming that you’re smart enough to understand it.” “I’m not fucking dumb, Jaemin.” You snap, glaring at him.
“No, of course not.” He sympathises, smiling down at you. “Just a little slow. Come on y/n, you’re failing one of the easiest courses at the university. You’re not exactly smart.”
You shove the papers over to Jaemin, purposely letting your silver rings graze his exposed skin. Jaemin flinches back from your touch, a sharp hiss leaving him as he grabs at his wrist. He glares at you. “You fucking serious?”
It’s mean, but what he said wasn’t exactly nice. You meet his gaze head on, eyebrow arched. “What’s the matter, leech? Can’t take the heat?” He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes to ground himself. It’s probably not smart to goad him, but that’s exactly what you do. “Aww, don’t ignore me, leech. It’s rude. Didn’t your parents ever teach you any manners?”
All the air in your body leaves you with a whoosh as Jaemin pins you up against the wall, wrists held over your head by one of his hands. A dull pain radiates through your body and you’re sure you’ll have bruises on your back from the impact, not that Jaemin seems to care. The boy stares down at you with dark eyes, standing way too close for comfort.
“My parents died 300 years ago.” Jaemin snarls. “But yours are still alive. Didn’t they teach you to respect your elders?”
“You’re not older than me.” The words are intended to be fierce, defiant. They come out shaky, timid. “You’re a dead man, Jaemin.”
That makes him laugh, though you don’t think he’s found your words funny. “Yeah? Do I seem dead to you?” He tightens his grip on your wrist and uses his free hand to tilt your chin up, make you look him in the eyes. “I can feel your heartbeat, little girl. You’re scared.”
“I’m not scared.” You are. He knows that.
“No?” He raises his eyebrows, cocking his head to the side before dipping down, letting his mouth hover over your neck. “Not even now?”
You shake your head, swallowing down a whimper. He’s right about your heartbeat, it’s fluttering so frantically that you can hear it in your ears, feel it under your skin. You’re scared, but not for the reasons he thinks you are.
Jaemin smiles at you, fangs on full display, and moves even closer to your neck. The sharp points of his fangs graze your skin and you swallow down your whimper, head falling back against the wall. You’re not scared of what Jaemin could do to you.
You’re scared of what you want him to do to you.
He scrapes his fangs along your neck, an action that’s painful in the most pleasurable way, but doesn’t break the skin. His tongue darts out instead, soothing over the pain before his lips press to your skin in an open mouthed kiss. Your fingers flex above your head and you ache to touch him, to fist your hand in his soft hair and pull him closer.
A moan leaves you and he pulls away, pressing his thumb to the area. Jaemin can feel your pulse from there and he smirks at how frantically your heart beats.
“You’re not scared?” Jaemin asks, the question condescending. He doesn’t believe you. “You do realize that I could sink my fangs into your pretty little neck and drain you dry, right?”
The mention of him biting you drags a keen out of your throat, and you find yourself whimpering out a “please” before you can help yourself. It has Jaemin pausing, eyes roaming over you as he reassesses the situation.
“Oh, you really aren’t scared.” Jaemin smirks. “Who knew that you were so fucking filthy?” He doesn’t wait for a response, dipping his head down and trailing the tip of his tongue up your throat. It feels nice, so, so nice, but it’s interrupted by a burning pain, a sob ripping from you at the intensity of it.
You thrash against his hold, but then the pain starts to get replaced with a pleasure unlike anything you’ve ever felt, and you slowly melt into his touch, arching against him to expose more of your throat.
Jaemin pulls away eventually, licking over your wound a few times before pulling back to give you a bloody grin. “Feels good, yeah?” You nod, and the bliss must be apparent on your face because Jaemin chuckles darkly before leaning back in. “You want more, don’t you?”
“Yeah, want it.” The words are breathless and slur together, your body thrumming with heat, begging for more. Jaemin does the opposite of what you want and steps away.
“Be a good girl and take those fucking rings off, then.” Jaemin commands, and you swear you’ve never moved faster than you’re moving now, carelessly dropping your jewelry to the floor. Mark’s necklace lands near his foot and he scowls at it, crushing the piece of metal beneath the heel of his shoe.
You immediately grab for him when you’re done, but Jaemin doesn’t let you pull him forward. He just scoops you up into his arms, carrying you to the sofa. You end up straddling his lap, his back pressing into the couch, and he wastes no time before sinking his fangs back into your neck.
“God,” You breathe out, winding your arms around his neck, pulling his head closer to you. “F-fuck, Jaem, that feels so good.”
He just hums against your throat, continuing to suck and lick at the wound. There’s a little bit of blood on his lips when he pulls away and you wipe at it with your thumb before letting the digit slip past his lips. He sucks on it slowly, gazing up at you with dark eyes, and lets his fangs graze the skin. Arousal jolts through you and you whimper, pulling your hand away and dragging him back to your neck.
“Baby wants more?” Jaemin teases, not waiting for an answer before sinking his fangs into you, this spot even more sensitive than the last. You whine loudly, tugging at his hair and feeling your eyes roll back in your head at the euphoria spreading through your body. Your head feels fuzzy and there’s so much heat coursing through you that you can barely function.
“Mhmm, yeah.” You pant out. “Want more. Oh my God Jaemin, I’m so fucking wet.”
Jaemin groans at your words, one of his hands sliding up your thigh before moving inwards, cupping your pussy over your clothes. He pulls his hand away when you try to grind down, grabbing onto your hip to stop your movements.
“No.” He growls, the simple word vibrating through your entire body and making you shake. “You come from this, nothing else.”
Tears slip down your cheeks as you hold onto him for dear life, your core clenching desperately around nothing. You hug him tighter, letting your head fall back on your shoulders to expose more of your throat, your lips parted to let Jaemin drag sound after sound of pleasure out of you. It feels good, way too good considering the action, and you lose yourself to the feeling.
The collar of your shirt is tugged down and then Jaemin’s lips are attaching to the top of your breast, fangs sinking into the delicate flesh. You keen and shove your chest further into his face, not knowing what else to do besides hold onto him for dear life. Your body feels heavy but your head feels light and it’s such a startling contrast to the euphoria coursing through your veins that it makes you dizzy. It’s hard to see straight, let alone think straight, and your pussy throbs with every little bit of blood that Jaemin takes from your body. Your hips rock against nothing but air, desperately searching for some sort of friction, something to fill your needy cunt, but you can’t find anything and it has you sobbing out in frustration.
More bite marks are left, more electricity shoots through your body, more wetness drips out of your pussy. You swear you’ve never felt this good in your life, and that’s only confirmed when Jaemin seals his lips over the first mark he left, licking and sucking at the wound until it opens all over again and you feel yourself falling, white flashing behind your eyes as the most intense orgasm of your life crashes over you. You grab at Jaemin as tightly as you can, screaming his name and babbling incoherently as he drags out your pleasure, lets you get high off all of his kisses and bites.
It lasts forever, and it takes even longer for you to come down to yourself, Jaemin stroking your hair and your back. You open your eyes to find him already looking at you, his face clean and dry of any blood. It takes you a while to notice that there’s an ice pack on your neck and a plate of food on the table in front of you, and you vaguely wonder how long you were out for if Jaemin had time to do all of this for you.
“Don’t move too fast, baby.” Jaemin cautions, noticing you struggling to sit up. “I took way more blood than I meant to, you’re gonna feel a little weak.” “A little?” Your muscles feel like jelly when you try to push yourself off of him and you collapse back onto Jaemin’s chest with a soft groan. Jaemin huffs a laugh and helps you sit up, turning you around on his lap so that your back is to his chest. He drops a soft kiss to your ear and your eyelids flutter.
“Here, take these.” Pills are dropped into your hand, a bottle of some energy drink you don’t recognize. “It’ll replace all the nutrients and stuff you lost.” Jaemin watches you down the drink in one go, tossing it across the room when you hand the empty bottle back to him. “How are you feeling?”
Your vision is much clearer than it was, though you still feel lethargic and would like to do nothing except lay down in a soft bed for the rest of your life. “My head hurts.” Jaemin hums. “Okay. I would rattle off some instructions for you to follow but I know it’ll just make your headache worse. I’ll write them down for you instead, how’s that.” “You’re so self aware.” Reality hits you when you feel the bruises on your throat, on your chest, and realize that yes, all of that did just happen. “Um. I didn’t know it could feel that-” You trail off, hand waving vaguely in the air. “Good?” Jaemin offers, laughing when you nod. “Mhmm, did they not tell you about that? I’m sure they make it sound like being bitten by a vampire is the worst thing imaginable at that fancy church you go to.” You look away, embarrassed, and Jaemin laughs. “You know that humans make drugs out of our saliva, right? That’s why there are hunters.” Your eyes shoot open in alarm. “Really? That’s awful.”
Jaemin hums, nodding. “Yeah, well, when it’s profitable...” He laughs bitterly. “Anyways, it’s an expensive drug. And you just got that shit for free.”
“I feel so honored.” You laugh, snuggling into him. He pushes you back.
“Y/n, I need you to understand something.” Jaemin says, tone suddenly serious. His eyes burn straight into your soul. “That was a mistake. I’m not- we can’t do that again.”
It shouldn’t hurt you. What you just did is considered shameful by many, you should be relieved that he’s telling you it can’t happen again. You shouldn’t want to spend more time with a vampire. “Oh. Yeah, yeah of course.” You nod, looking away from his intense gaze to blink back your tears. “Yeah, we just got carried away.” Jaemin looks like he wants to say something else, lips parting for a second before shaking his head, offering a tight smile instead. “We got everything done that we needed to get done. You should rest now.”
He doesn’t mean now as in right this second, which he made especially clear after telling you that it was a mistake, but you can’t help it. You’re asleep in seconds.
When you wake up for the second time, Jaemin is nowhere to be found. You’re in your own bed, tucked in nice and neatly, and you smile as you realize it meant that the vampire had carried you home. There’s the list of instructions that he’d promised you on your nightstand, signed with nearly illegible hand-writing. Your smile grows before promptly dropping off. Vampires can’t get into a house without being invited. You’ve never invited him in, which means that he must’ve either asked permission from Mark or your parents. Neither is good.
The gravity of the situation hits you when Mark walks into your room, jaw set, arms crossed. He blanches when he sees your neck, the sight clearly making him uncomfortable. “Holy- y/n, I told you that you couldn’t trust Jaemin. You’re lucky I was here when you brought you home because I can guarantee your parents would react way worse than me.”
“Jaemin was fine. He didn’t do anything I didn’t want him to.” You see the exact moment that those words process in Mark’s mind, his face going from worried to angry.
“You let him drink from you? What were you thinking? Y/n, you look like you got mauled.” Mark sounds disgusted and you try not to shrink into yourself.
The bruises ache when you press over one of them and an overwhelming sense of embarrassment washes over you at how it makes you shiver. “Relax, it’s not like I let him turn me. We just got caught up in the heat of the moment. Mark, it felt so good.” Your eyelids flutter shut at the memory, snapping back open when Mark scoffs.
“So what? You want to be their blood bag now?” Mark’s voice rises in pitch as he yells and the sound grates on your nerves. “Wanna be a vampire whore for the rest of your life? Live in a dusty ass attic and let whoever walks by have a go at you?” “Mark, what- do you hear yourself? What the fuck is your problem?” Mark’s been your best friend since you were five. Never, never, have you heard him talk like this. It hurts.
“Do I hear myself? Y/n, I should be the one asking you that. Here you are, creaming yourself while talking about letting some fucking, some bloodsucker tear your throat open! It’s disgusting.” Mark scoffs, shaking his head. “You’re just as bad as Do-” He cuts himself off suddenly, but you know what he was about to say. “Just as bad as who? Donghyuck?” You shake your head, feeling hot tears prick at the back of your eyes. “It must run in the family to become filthy disappointments, then.”
Mark’s eyes soften and he grabs your wrist, rubbing circles into your skin with his thumb. “It’s not too late for you. Let’s go to the church, you can pray for forgiveness.”
You feel numb when you nod, letting Mark wrap a scarf around your neck and lead you down the road. He sits next to you in the pews, rubbing your shoulder while you rest your forehead on your hands, pretending to pray. But you can’t focus, can’t stop thinking about your brother.
Donghyuck was Mark’s best friend before you were. The three of you would hang out a lot, though you only joined the two because as Donghyuck’s younger sister, he felt obligated to include you. The two boys were inseparable, and then one day, they weren’t.
Your parents say that he was tainted by the devil. Mark’s father says that he betrayed God. You think Donghyuck simply fell in love. And love is a beautiful thing, but not when it’s between a vampire and a human. Your brother was forced to choose between his family and his love.
In the end, he chose love.
That night, you toss and turn in bed, unable to stop thinking about your brother. If he’s alive, if he’s a vampire. If he’s dead. What you would do in his situation. Not that it matters, because you wouldn’t fall in love with a vampire, but you can’t help but wonder. Is it really that bad? They were once human, too.
The thought doesn’t leave your mind even when you go to the lab, meeting an uncharacteristically quiet Jaemin, and a very excited looking Jeno. “Y/n! Thank you so much for doing this!” “Yeah, well, gotta pass my classes somehow.” You laugh. Jaemin doesn’t meet your eyes when you look at him, keeping his gaze just a little too low and frowning.
“Seriously though, this is great. I’ve been trying to get permission for this experiment for ages, the fact that the administration finally caved is insane.” Jeno says, turning to ruffle through some papers on the desk. You shoot a curious glance at Jaemin, finally realizing that he’s staring at your neck. Or well, your covered neck. He’s trying to see the marks. With a glance towards Jeno, you carefully slide the fabric of your turtle neck down, laughing silently at how Jaemin inhales sharply, lips parting slightly. You yank it back up when Jeno turns around. “Jaemin informed you of the experiment, correct?” You shoot Jaemin a look. “Yeah! You just need to take a couple of blood samples, right?” Jeno shakes his head, tilting his head at Jaemin. “Not exactly. We’re going to need you to take microdoses of vampire blood.”
It takes a moment to register. “You want me to drink vampire blood?” You screech, eyes bulging. “That’s going to turn me!” Jeno shakes his head, laughing. “With the amount we’re giving you? No. It’ll only turn you if a vampire drinks your blood, and you die. You’ll be fine.” Next to you, Jaemin stiffens. You bite your lip. “Um. Like at the same time, or?” “It doesn’t have to be at the exact same time. If you’ve been bitten before, you can’t drink any blood or you’ll be turned. But again, that’s only if you die.” Jeno tilts his head. “Have you been bitten before?” “Jeno.” Jaemin draws his attention away before you can respond. “It’s just a microdose, right? Like, barely enough to have an effect?” He considers this. “Well, I mean, not enough to have negative effects.”
You and Jaemin share a long look. Jaemin had drunk your blood not even a week earlier. It's dangerous. But it’s a small amount. Jeno said there wouldn’t be any negative effects. And you can’t fail this class. You send Jaemin a pleading look. Jaemin swallows thickly and looks back to Jeno.
“She’ll be fine?” Jaemin’s voice is shaky.
Jeno nods. “Caring for a human? That’s odd, coming from you. But yeah, she’ll be fine.”
You exhale heavily. “I’ll do it.”
There are more papers to be signed, more blood to be drawn. Though this time Jeno takes it in a much more professional manner, drawing it out and putting it into a test tube. Next to you, Jaemin squeezes his eyes shut and you watch his jaw clench. You want to tease him but you can’t, not in front of Jeno.
Despite Jeno’s reassurances, the worry doesn’t leave you. He doesn’t know what you and Jaemin did, doesn’t know that you’ve been bitten by a vampire. And maybe it doesn’t matter- it’s not like you’re going to die or anything, which is what needs to happen for you to turn- but you need some sort of comfort.
That’s how you end up bailing on your Friday night dinner with Mark’s family, saying that you need to finish a project that’s due that night. Your parents roll their eyes and scold you for not taking your studies seriously, but let you skip the dinner. Mark shakes his head at you, disapproving of you working with a vampire, but keeps his mouth shut.
If Jaemin’s surprised when you show up at his door, he doesn’t show it. He just smirks at you, leaning against the door frame. “Hey blood bag.” You scoff and shove past him into the house, dropping down onto the sofa you sat on last time. “When did you start calling me that, leech?”
“When you let me drink from you.” Jaemin says plainly, sitting next to you. “Is there a reason you’re here? I mean, I know I’m irresistible, but-” “But we didn’t tell Jeno you drank from me.” You interrupt. “We need to tell him. He’s been waiting forever for this, he’ll be devastated if we ruin it.”
Jaemin nods, considering it. “Y/n, you know you’ll get kicked off the project if we tell him, right?” You nod, biting your lip. “Look, Jeno’s been my best friend for hundreds of years. I hate keeping this from him more than you do.” “Then why are you?” It doesn’t make sense. You’re certainly not friends, or at least you weren’t before last week.
He doesn’t answer. His eyes are dark and it looks like there’s a war raging behind them, but he doesn’t elaborate on what’s bothering him. The sharp points of his teeth dig into his bottom lip as he bites it nervously, blood beading at the cut when he finally looks back at you.
You don’t think when you bring your thumb up to swipe at his lower lip, skin coming away red. Jaemin watches in fascination as you bring the digit up to your own mouth, sliding it past your lips, sucking the blood away. He swallows thickly.
“Does it feel as good for you as it does for me?” You ask, glancing from his lips to his face. He shakes his head gently.
“It feels good for you because of our saliva.” Jaemin explains. “But it doesn’t feel bad when you do it, it’s just-” He makes a vague gesture with his hand as if trying to pull the words out of thin air. “It’s very intimate.”
He licks his lips, then, digs his teeth back into his bottom lip. It’s a subconscious movement but you still lean in to press a kiss over where the blood pricks up, nipping just hard enough to have a growl rumbling in Jaemin’s chest before soothing the wound with your tongue. You pull away and smile, licking the blood off of your lips.
You don’t even have time to make a witty remark over how affected Jaemin looks because he’s pulling you onto his lap, crashing your lips together with enough force that you’re sure they’ll bruise. It draws a moan from you and Jaemin eagerly drinks it in, fisting his hand in your hair and deepening the kiss.
A gasp leaves you when he pulls away, trails his lips down your throat. You tense in anticipation, a whine getting trapped in your throat when his fangs just barely scrape the skin. He leaves a wet kiss there, pulling away to look up at you. “Want me to bite you, baby?”
“God, yeah.” You moan out, tilting your head to expose more of your neck.
“Ah, I’d rather you didn’t say that name in my house.” Jaemin laughs. He moves back to your throat, digging his fangs into the spot he’d marked. There’s less pain this time, pleasure coursing through you almost instantly. You whine and tighten your grip on his hair.
Electricity runs through your veins as Jaemin takes what he wants, marking up your body. You breathe out something along the lines of “want more” and Jaemin takes it to heart, scooping you up and carrying you to his room in record time. He tosses you onto the mattress, crawling over you not even a second later to press his lips to yours.
He fits himself easily between your legs, rocking his hips down in a rare show of desperation. You can feel exactly how affected he is, his hardness pressing deliciously against your core. Another plea of “more” is whispered against his lips and he doesn’t need any more encouragement, pulling away to move further down your body. He kisses and nips his way down your torso, pushing your shirt up to reveal more skin to him, dropping kiss after kiss to the sensitive skin just above the waistband of your pants. Your core throbs at the feeling of having him so close to you and you squirm, trying to spread your legs more, trying to articulate that you need something, anything.
“J-Jaemin, take them off.” You whine, pushing at the waistband. “I need you.”
The coldness of his hands brushing against your skin when he drags your pants down has you shivering, squirming. He tosses your clothing to the floor and wastes no time attaching his lips to the inside of your thigh, holding you down when you squirm.
“Is this okay?” Jaemin asks, concern mixing with his arousal. He brushes his index finger over your pussy, making your back arch in an effort to get him closer to where you need him.
“More than.” Despite your assurances, Jaemin doesn’t touch you. He moves his hand up to your abdomen, flattening his palm to keep you pinned down. You whine in annoyance, but the teeth dragging over your inner thigh has you shutting up. A gasp leaves you before he even sinks his fangs in, your pussy absolutely throbbing with need. He presses another gentle kiss to the skin and, raising his gaze to make eye contact with you, bites you.
It’s more intense than when he bit your neck or your chest. It sets your body on fire in the best of ways, leaves you writhing under his touch. Your eyes roll in your head and your hands flail in an effort to grab something, anything to ground yourself. It’s amazing, and just when you think you’ve reached heaven, he touches you.
You’re soaking wet and Jaemin’s fingers slide into you effortlessly, fill you up so well. It’s too much effort to keep your eyes open and so you let them drift shut, let yourself fall into the bliss. There’s pressure against your lips and you open your eyes to find Jaemin hovering over you, sliding two fingers past your lips. You didn’t even realize he’d stopped biting you.
“Suck.” He commands, and who are you to disobey? You wrap your lips around the digits and hum at the taste of yourself, at the weight of them in your mouth. “Taste good, baby?” “Mhmm, yeah.” Your words are slurred around the digits and you suck even harder around them, letting your tongue trace patterns around them. Jaemin swears softly and grinds down against your thigh.
He presses one more kiss to your lips before sliding down your body. “My turn to taste.”
Maybe there should be some sort of alarm going through your system when Jaemin lowers his mouth to your core. Some sort of reminder that he has some very sharp fangs, that he has just bit you in multiple places, and that his fangs are right in the place that fangs should never be. But it feels heavenly when he licks a stripe between your folds, when he fucks his tongue into your hole. His hands keep you pinned to the mattress, super strength coming in handy to control your squirming.
The pleasure consumes you and it’s so much, too much, and your eyes want to squeeze shut but Jaemin looks up at you and his gaze is magnetic, making it impossible to look away from him. Your body’s on fire, burning brighter with every flick of his tongue, every moan he lets out into your core. He pulls away to drop his head to the apex of your thigh, digging his fangs into the delicate skin there, and you can’t fight the scream that rips from your throat. You’re babbling, chanting incoherent words as you try to explain how good it feels, how you never want him to stop. His hair is soft in your grip and it’s the only thing keeping you anchored, the only thing preventing you from drowning in pleasure.
“You taste so good, baby.” Jaemin moans, pulling away momentarily to make a show of licking his lips. “Everything about you is so delicious.” He returns to your core, lapping at your hole before flicking his tongue over your clit, laughing at how your body jolts. There’s nothing but hunger in his eyes as he sucks your clit between his lips, fucking two fingers into your needy cunt. He does it again, hitting all of your sensitive spots, making you scream with bliss as you finally tip over the edge.
Wave after wave of euphoria crash into you and your lungs burn as your gasp for air. You’re drowning in the best way possible, surrounded by nothing but pleasure and Jaemin, Jaemin, Jaemin.
He works you through it with gentle flicks of his tongue, hands smoothing over your thighs to bring you back down. You manage to find enough strength to shove at his head when it gets to be too much, tiredly sinking into the mattress when he pulls away. Jaemin wipes at his mouth and bends down to kiss you lazily, nipping at your lip just to hear you whine. He smooths your hair down and brushes a few strands out of your face, smiling down at how fucked out you are. And you’d be content to lay wrapped in his arms, with Jaemin cooing softly at how pretty you are and petting your head, but you can feel how hard he is.
“Jaemin,” You murmur, shifting in his hold. “Jaem, wanna make you feel good.” “It’s alright, you don’t h- oh, shit baby- you don’t have to.” He has to fight to get the words out, a groan interrupting his sentence when you grab at his cock. You pout at him and manage to tug his pants down just enough for you to pull him out.
“But I want to.” You smile, leaning up for a kiss. Jaemin doesn’t bother replying, just presses his lips back to yours and melts into your touch. The way you jerk him off is lazy, your energy drained from how intense your orgasm was. Though with the way Jaemin groans against your lips and tightens his grip on your hip, you don’t think that he minds.
He moans your name when he comes, a beautiful sound that has your stomach twisting with heat. White spills over your knuckles and onto his stomach and you bring your hand up to your mouth, licking at it curiously. Jaemin watches you with heavy lids before collapsing onto the mattress.
“Fuck,” He sighs, eyelids drifting shut. “Why’re you so good to me?” “Why are you so good to me?” You mumble back in response, curling up into him. “Thanks for not biting my pussy.” Something about that sets Jaemin off and his body shakes with the laughter running through him. A giggle leaves you. “What?” Jaemin shakes his head, still laughing. “Nothing. Come on, gotta get you some food.”
And that’s how it goes. You and Jaemin continue to hook up, although he does end up saying ‘fuck it’ and attempting to actually teach you chemistry. Despite Mark’s fears, he doesn’t end up killing you. He’s a lot of fun to be around, plus he keeps his pantry stocked with various snacks. Sometimes he even cooks for you, if he’s feeling nice.
“What’s a vampire doing with all this food?” You ask one day, watching him make fried rice. He doesn’t respond, just staring down at the pan and offering you a shrug, though you swear you see him blush.
Your professor raises your grade to a C. It’s not stellar but it also isn’t failing, which you will happily take. There’s only a little bit of guilt when she beams at you while telling you how happy Jeno is with your dedication to the project.
Jeno continues to take blood samples, and you continue to not tell him that you’ve been bitten. It eats you up inside, but Jaemin’s always there to reassure you. Whether he’s trying to comfort you or himself more is up for debate.
Everything stays the same except for Mark.
He gets more distant, grows a little more resentful. There’s no smiles or teasing jokes, except for the polite ones he flashes in front of your parents. He starts to make up lies, too, which is something you promised to never do. Excuses to get him out of plans, saying there’s nothing wrong. And your best friend, the most timid, nicest boy you’ve ever met, begins to pick petty fights with you.
You’re over it, and it bothers you even if you try not to let it show. Jaemin rubs your back and tells you it’ll be okay, but you know it won’t. Because Jaemin’s the reason that Mark’s distant. And you have no plans to stop seeing him.
Talking to Jaemin, you’re sure Mark would have liked him if the circumstances were different. If Mark didn’t hate vampires so much, or if Jaemin were just a regular human college student like you. But those aren’t the circumstances, and so you have to deal with Mark’s whiny ass showing up at your door to drag you to church.
“Mark, it’s Thursday night.” You groan, shaking your textbook at him. “I have work to do!”
“Yeah, you also have praying to do.” Mark snaps, grabbing the book out of your hands. “Not like you even understand this.”
Which, ouch, that kind of hurts. Especially when Mark knows that you’re frustrated that you can’t get the subject down even though you try. You glare at him and reach for the book. “Mark, give it back. And I actually do understand this, Jaemin’s been helping-” “Helping what? Taint you? Turn you into one of their blood whores?” Mark grabs the book back and throws it across the room. “Y/n, come on. I’m not letting this happen to you too.” He pulls you after him despite your grumbling, though he at least has the decency to let you put shoes on. Just because you go freely doesn’t mean you’re happy about it, complaining as Mark drags you through the city. “Jesus Christ Mark, has it ever occurred to you that Donghyuck had free will? That he willingly chose to be with her because he loved her?” You’re fed up with Mark, fed up with everyone. “God Mark, they’re not that bad!” Mark stares at you for a moment. “What, they’re brainwashing you too? How is it that both you and your brother are so dumb? I know you weren’t raised like this.”
“Well at least I wasn’t raised to be such an ignorant asshole.” You snap. “I have the ability to make my own decisions, something you apparently lack.” “Oh, so what’s that supposed to mean?” Mark stops walking suddenly, crossing his arms as he waits for an answer. You open your mouth to yell at him when a flash of movement catches your eyes. Squinting, you make out a group of guys, and they’re close enough that you can hear them laughing when one of them wipes… is that blood on his mouth? “Mark, we have to go.” You whisper. The vampires don’t see you and you’re hoping that you can get the two of you out of there safely. “Come on-” “No, tell me what you mean!” Mark yells, stubbornly standing in place. You groan and try to drag him away but he doesn’t budge. “Come on y/n, tell me what you fucking mean.” You shoot a worried glance over your shoulder, surprised when you don’t see the vampires. There’s a second of relief, lasting only until you turn around to find them standing right behind Mark. You squeak in surprise. Mark freezes too, one of the men having grabbed him by the shoulders. His face presses way too close to Mark’s neck and you jump when you feel hands on your own shoulders.
“Aww, lover’s spat?” The guy holding Mark laughs. “That’s okay, we’ve all been there, right guys?” The rest of his friends cackle in the creepiest way that you can imagine. “Come on, we can resolve this.” You and Mark look back and forth between each other worriedly. There’s no way out of this, you realize. No way to even try.
“Don’t you wanna know how we can resolve this?” This time the guy holding you speaks and it’s so close to your ear that you flinch, nearly jumping out of your skin. He laughs and his fangs graze your skin, but it doesn’t send pleasure through you like when Jaemin does it. It sends chills down your spine, makes you want to cry. “Answer me.” “N-no.” You stutter out, eyes squeezed shut in fear. “Please, just let us go.” The guy sighs and lets go of you. “Alright.” You and Mark share a look before bolting, adrenaline pumping through your veins. Freedom only lasts for a second before you’re being grabbed again, yanked backwards.
“Stupid girl. I don’t appreciate being told no.” You whimper and you can hear Mark screaming your name, screaming for help, screaming for anything.
It’s the last thing you hear.
“Jaemin, you’re an idiot. Literally the dumbest person I know.” There’s a familiar voice swimming through your head and you try to move towards it, finding your entire body feels drained.
“Yes, I’ve been told.” Is that Jaemin’s voice? It sounds a lot clearer, drags you out of the darkness. “But look, it ended up being good, right? She’s alive.” You finally manage to pry your eyes open and immediately regret it, slamming them shut and curling into yourself. A groan leaves you and the two stop talking. “Y/N? Baby, it’s me.” There’s a hand on your cheek, brushing against the skin gently, and you press into his touch. “How are you feeling?” “Bad.” You croak out through a dry throat, cringing at how dry it feels. Jaemin laughs softly and something presses to your lips. “Here, drink this.”
You didn’t realize how hungry you were until you get the first taste, and then suddenly you find the strength in your body to take gulp after gulp of the drink. It brings a little bit of warmth to your body, makes you feel less achy. You even manage to pry your eyelids open.
Jeno and Jaemin greet you, both men looking relieved. Jaemin beams at you, dipping down for a kiss. “Hey baby.” “What happened?” You frown, trying to remember how you got to Jaemin’s couch. “Did I- I was walking to the church and we were attacked.” Oh shit, you weren’t alone. You search frantically around the room. “Did Mark- is he okay?” The thought of your best friend- no matter how strained your relationship was at the end- dying is too much for you to handle.
Jaemin smiles. “He’s the one that brought you to me.”
“He’s okay?” Jeno nods in confirmation.
“They only wanted to kill for fun, guess you were enough.” Jeno says. “Speaking of killing, Jaemin has a lot of explaining to do. And since I don’t trust him to do a good job, I’m going to stay here!” You look between the two. “Kill? Am I- I’m dead?” Jaemin makes a face. “Fucking- I’m a vampire?” Your words come out shrill and the two boys cringe.
“Yeah, sorry.” Jaemin scratches the back of his neck. “My bad. But, um, I’ll take care of you! Don’t worry.” Then, to Jeno: “Come on man, can’t we have a second of peace? I literally never thought I was going to see her again.” Jeno sighs, glaring at his friend before walking away. “Dramatic.”
You’re in Jaemin’s arms in the next second, held close to his chest. “Fuck y/n, I’m so sorry.” His voice is shaky and he keeps his face pressed into your neck. “This is all my fault, I don’t know how I’m going to make it up to you.” “We’ll figure it out later.” You tug at his hair to get him to look you in the eyes. “I almost died, Jaemin. Give me a headache later. Right now…” You trail off, letting your lips stretch wide. “Kiss me.” It draws a snort from Jaemin. “You were dead like an hour ago and now you want to fuck?” “No!” You whine and smack his chest. “I just want a kiss, get your mind out of the gutter.” Jaemin teases you some more, making you laugh and smack him to stop before you finally say fuck it and pull him closer, smashing your lips together. He smiles into the kiss, wrapping his arms around your body. You have a lot to worry about, but you’ve also got all the time in the world to worry about it. It makes you sick to think about, and for now, you want to just relax. Not that Jaemin seems to mind, happily letting you curl into his chest, stroking your head. You’re not alone, you have Jaemin, and you know he’ll help you through this.
+ You’re not expecting a welcome home party. You’re also not expecting to find all of your belongings scattered across the front yard, having very clearly been chucked from your bedroom window.
“Lovely.” You scoff, staring at the mess. The front door has the biggest cross you’ve ever seen nailed to it, complete with the silver door knob that you promptly burn yourself on. You stare at the door, wondering if you should knock. It swings open before you make your mind up.
Mark stares back at you with wide eyes and parted lips. “Y/n? You’re alive?”
“Hey, Mark.” You smile, tight lipped. “Jaemin told me you saved me.”
Mark looks like he’s about to say something but then his mouth closes and he shakes his head. “Y/n, you- you’re a vampire now. I can’t.” Mark doesn’t look you in the eye when he says it and you scoff, rolling your eyes. “I’m sorry.” “I’m sorry.” You mock, shaking your head. “No you’re not. If you were sorry, you would fucking look me in the eyes.” He doesn’t. “You know it’s your fault I’m like this, right?” That gets him to look up at you. There’s fire in his eyes this time. “No, it’s your fault for whoring around with vampires.” You shake your head. “Who made me go to church that night?” He looks away and doesn’t answer the question. “Good bye, Mark.”

“Wake up in an ice-cold sweat And my skin starts to creep You're hovering above my bed Looking down on me Haunted house sound effects Dracula Teeth.”
Dracula Teeth by, The Last Shadow Puppets
I was getting softly shaken away by someone, I groaned and had turned the other way.
“I graduated... I don’t have to go to school anymore.” I mumbled.
“Wake up Petal, happy birthday.”
My eyes lazily opened, my dad was staring down at me, his eyes crinkled with happiness.
“Oh yeah... it is September 13th, it’s Bella and I’s birthday.”
“You forgot your own birthday?”
“I never know what the date is anymore dad don’t worry...”
“I got presents...” Dad said in a sing-songy voice... I could tell her was trying to persuade me.”
“Okay, okay I’m getting up.”
Dad had handed me two boxes, wrapped terribly but it was the thought that counts. The gifts were a new paint set and canvases and a new writing journal.
“Wow, these are great dad, thanks.”
“You’re welcome Petal.”
“You give Bella her presents yet?”
“Yeah, she freaked out on me for a bit... I joked and told her she had a gray hair. Speaking of gray hair... it looks like you have a speak there.” Dad joked.
“Ehh, gray suites me well.”
“So, what’d you plan on doing today? Were you going to hang out with Jasper?” He asked, he sat down on the edge of my bed
“Not until later on tonight, I thought we could something together...That steak at the diner sounds pretty good... or we could just take a long drive... both sound enjoyable to me”
“Sounds like a plan Petal. I luckily got the day off” He then got up and walked toward the door, leaving me by myself.
Graduating early had it’s perks... I had a lot more free time on my hands and I could do whatever I wanted with it. I got dressed eager to spend some one on one time with dad. Bella was already gone by the time I got up so Dad and I quickly made it to my car. We had been driving through the town for 30 minutes when he started a conversation.
“So, how are things with you and Bella?”
“Uh... it’s okay I guess. We don’t really fight but we don’t really talk at all if I’m honest.”
“Everything that happened last year in Phoenix got to you huh?”
“Yeah, it did. I guess it’s going to take some time for me to let it go.”
“I understand... I love that girl to death but I don’t even know if I’ve fully let it go.”
“I would understand if you hadn’t... she said some messed up stuff dad.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring up bad stuff on your birthday.”
“Don’t worry about it you didn’t upset me, I get it, you were just curious.”
The rest of the drive was nice, quiet at some points but nice, we had gotten back into town at 4:30. Just in time to eat at the diner, then after that I would be off to the Cullens for the night.
“Ugh, that was good... but I think if I eat anymore I might explode!” I dramatized.
“Me too Petal, me too. We better go on back to the house, You said you had to be at the Cullens by 5:20.”
“Yeah... blame that on Alice, she’s very excited to throw Bella and I birthday party.”
I had driven back to the house quickly. My timing was immaculate, as soon as I had parked in the driveway, Jasper had pulled in as well.
“Chief Swan, nice to see you again.”
“Good to see you too, Jasper.”
“I hope you don’t mind me stealing Fleur for the rest of the night...”
“Don’t worry about it, it’s fine.”
“Bye dad, love you! I had fun.”
“Love you too.”
Jasper and I drove off as soon as dad was in the house. I was buzzing with excitement Jasper of course, fueled that excitement for me.
“Happy Birthday Darling.”
“Thank you love.” I pecked his cheek.
“I gotta ask... how crazy did Alice go with this whole birthday thing?”
“She reeled it in... like 10% of the crazy back.”
“Well, you tried to calm her down... as long as cake is involved we won’t have a problem.”
“Yes, their is cake... glad it could persuade you into coming down for the night.”
“I’m glad we both reached an agreement... you have cake, I show up.”
Jasper chuckled and held my hand. I felt happy, turning 18 marked another year of my life. When we arrived at the Cullens house, Alice had jumped out of the house and ran to greet me at the car.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”
“Thank you, I really appreciate what you did for me.”
“No need to thank me, come, come.” I was then dragged inside by Alice. I could feel the excitement radiating through her body.
“Hey short-stack, happy birthday!”
“Happy birthday, Fleur.”
“Thanks Emmett, Thanks Dean.”
“Fleur, happy birthday.” Esme said her warm smile bring me even me joy.
“Thank you.”
“Happy Birthday Fleur! Rosalie said, she then pulled me in for a hug.
“Thank you, Rose.” I looked around after we broke apart.
“Where’s Bella at?”
“She’s late... as usual.” Alice said.
“Speak of the devil.” Rosalie said.
I turned around, I saw Edward and Bella standing in the living room. Neither of them looked very happy. I hadn’t seen Edward since everything that had happened with James. I couldn’t trust him much either, I felt uncomfortable to be around him now.
“Okay, Fleur, you open our gifts first.”
Esme and Carlisle had gotten a new phone, Emmett had gotten me seat covers and a new wheel cover for my car, Rosalie had gotten my a ring with my birthstone in it, and Alice had gotten me a new pair of black ankle boots.
“You’ve had your others ones long enough.” Alice stated.
“As nice as these are... you know I’m going to keep my other boots.”
“Of course, you’ve always been stubborn. Okay Bella, your next! ” Alice exclaimed.
Rosalie begrudgingly walked up to Bella and handed her a box.
“It’s a necklace... Alice picked it out.”
“Thanks.”
“Here’s Emmett’s.” Alice said
Bella shook the box, it was empty.
“Already installed it in your truck. Finally a good sound system for that piece of.”
“Hey, don’t hate on the truck.”
“Sorry...”
“Okay open up Esme and Carlisle next!”
The gift was in an envelope, before Bella could open it however... she got a paper cut.
“Ouch, paper cut.” She said and stuck her index finger up showing everyone.
“Wow Bella, how smart... show off a open wound in front of vampires... some of those vampires haven’t had blood...” I couldn’t even finish my own thought, growling was coming out from behind me. I turned around, Deans eyes were pitch black, and he had dark circles around them. He lunged toward Bella, Jasper had pulled me back and held me against his chest. Turning me around so I couldn’t see what was happening. I heard a huge crash followed by the sound of glass. I then heard another loud bang, followed by the sound of what seemed to be someone stepping on the Piano keys. Jasper led me out of the room after that. Taking me back outside.
“I-I didn’t think that was going to happen. I’m so sorry.” Jasper said, guilt laced in his words.
“It’s okay, I’m fine... It’s wasn’t your fault.” I said, pulling him close to me.
He rested his forehead against mine and sighed.
“Nothing good can come out of this you know... Edwards going to try and do something heroic.” Jasper said.
“Yeah, I know, love.”
“I don’t care what it is, as long as I can stay with you.”
“Always such a smooth talker Hale.”
“I do try my best.”
“It’s an amazing effort.”
“I better take you home, I don’t think Dean can be around any humans right now.”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
Timeskip: Back to Fleur’s house.
“I’ll see you tomorrow love.”
“Okay, love you Jazz.”
“Love you too.”
I pecked him on the lips before leaving his car. I ran inside, eager to get warm. It was always cold in September in Forks. I went to bed, I had a unsettled feeling in my stomach. I knew something was going to happen, and I didn’t know if I could stop it. The next day was strange, Jasper hadn’t called or texted me all day. I was starting to get worried. Dad was at work and Bella was at school so I didn’t have anything else to do. So, I decided to pace, I walked back and forth, back and forth through my room all day it seemed. It wasn’t until later that I had finally seen Jasper. The look on his face proved my gut feeling to be correct.
“Jasper? Whats wrong.?”
“We.. we’re leaving Forks.”
I stood there, my eyes widened, this was the last thing I wanted to happened.

Diego Hargreeves x child!reader
warnings: knifes, blood, guns, death mentions, mental hospital
a/n:
prompt: anonymous: “Hi! Could you please write a “The Umbrella Academy” Diego Hargreeves x daughter reader headcanon? I always think Diego is such a overprotective softie dad ♥️♥️”
deigo really said “?????”
how dad
but also he’d just the most loving dad anyone could ever ask for
✨it’s because he was never loved by his dad✨
“hi cutie, i love you, i love you, i love youuuuu”
he locked away all his weapons so that you couldn’t hurt yourself on them
but he always missed a few and he’d turn around and see you holding throwing knives and just FREAK OUT
“no, no, no, you may not have those! knives are for big boys like me, not babies”
“give back”
“‘give back?’ are you nuts?”
diego has conversations with lil you as if you know what the fuck he means dhshshhshs
as you got older, you became more interested in his “career”
“no, i dont care if you have powers or not! you have a bedtime, that means no vigilantism, you hear me?”
“if i say ‘no’ can i be a vigilante?”
“you know what? how about you clean up the gym for al so he doesn’t evict us?”
you did not sign up for this
you really wanted to meet your aunts and uncles, but you weren’t exactly sure they knew about you
i mean, you knew you had a cousin but everyone knew about her because aunt allison was a goshdarn celebrity
“dad, i want to meet the family!”
“no you don’t”
end of discussion
despite having a bedtime, you still watched movies late at night with your dad
he really liked marvel movies
“come on, that would never happen!”
“you come from a family of superpowered kids, a robot mom, and a monkey, and you’re upset about...a guy that shoots arrows?”
“maybe i am, what’re you gonna do about it?”
you ask about umbrella academy stories a lot, you your dad usually makes it about him
“and then i punched that guy in the face! and then i stabbed him in the leg because he was a dick! bet you’re friend’s dads arent as cool as me”
*yawning bc you’ve heard this story a million times*
you go to public school
you do have your dad’s last name
which occasionally gets recognized
“woah! wasn’t your dad a superhero?”
“i have no idea what youre talking about” :)
practicing your knife throwing while diego is away, him coming home to find his knifes stuck through various targets
so proud but he had to make sure you didn’t hurt yourself
you actually had to learn how to patch him up because he did come home a bit battered and bruised several times
“im okay, y/n. no need to freak”
“dad, there is literally blood dripping on the floor will you just sit down and stay still for five goddamn minutes?”
“woah, who the fuck taught you to cuss?”
watching the news at home when your grandfather was reportedly dead
you were actually very upset because you wanted to meet him so bad
even if he was a dick
your dad came home silent and you knew he knew
“you okay?”
“oh, yeah, im better than okay!”
finally getting the chance to meet your family
“who are you?” -allison
“im, uh, y/n. diego is my dad”
*jaw dropping*
and you know what? that happened four more times (plus ben but you didn’t get to see that)
“and you are?” -luther
“who’s the...the little one?” -klaus
“well, what do you know? diego’s a dad” -five
“don’t tell me that’s...no way” -ben
“you’re diego’s? wow, i can’t believe he didn’t tell anyone” -vanya
“i...i know who all of you are” -you
diego bragging about how perfect you are while everyone simultaneously rolls their eyes
“well, y/n, maybe one day we’ll schedule a playdate for you and claire” -allison
“‘playdate?’ how old do you think i am?...but yes i wanna meet her”
“god, you’re so much like diego, it’s unsettling”
you had been secretly training at al’s gym during your dad’s late night activities
so when trouble came your way, you were able to handle yourself pretty well
“where the hell did you learn that?”
“al showed me a few moves!”
“that old man? you’re kidding”
you met your grandmother, grace, who was tasked with keeping you safe at all times
you actually loved her sm
but there was something a bit off about her
besided the fact she was a robot
klaus snuck you out so that you two could have BoNdInG tImE
it wasn’t all bad
ben was a lil choked up that he got to meet one of his niblings
“they’re perfect”
“they just stabbed someone, buddy”
“who are you talking to?”
FIVE EVEN SCHEMED WITH YOU
“okay, y/n, i need you to curve something when i throw it, got that? right at that security guard”
“what are you throwing?”
“you’ll know when you see it, make your uncle five proud”
“IS THAT A GUN”
<3 family
running into patch!!
“hey, kid, i just saw your dad. i thought i told you to handcuff him to the radiator when you were away?”
“yeah, well, he wouldve chewed his hand off so here we are”
that was the last time you saw her :/
well, your dad was now a wanted man
“what happened to your arm?”
“no”
you actually didn’t expect this family reunion to go south like this
wait—yes you did
vanya has powers????
“i thought vanya was the one without powers?”
“yeah. so did we.”
diego straight up did not want you anywhere near that
but you, again, were his child and also fuck authority you do what you want
the vibe is almost getting shot several times
by hazel, cha cha, and “commission” guys?
going 2 ur auntie’s concert 😌✨
“y/n, hide in the bathroom and stay there until i come get you”
“dad, i love you, but no”
“y/n, i love you too, but yes”
“no”
“yes”
“NO”
“YES”
you won
but in the end (or not so much) you time traveled to...1961?
without any of your family
“this is...this is not good”
understatement of the year(s)
what was a kid like you gonna do in dallas, texas in 1961
no seriously, what
it was rough, but you managed to survive on your own
and open a paper in 1963 to find a mugshot of your dad
“son of a—”
visiting dad! (two years later)
“y/n? oh my god, y/n! shit, i missed you so much! why do you look different? you’re bigger, oh god. how long have you been here?”
“2 years, dad. you?”
his hair was so LONG
“2 months”
“christ, that’s it?!”
“i have to stop jfk from being assassinated”
“what makes you think that’s a good idea???”
“its the right thing to do, wanna help?”
“shit, i guess. as long as i dont end up here”
“no promises, people in the 60’s are crazy”
diego: 👁👄👁
you: 👀
running into five on the street soon after
“uncle five?”
“no time to talk”
“okay, asshole? i’ve been here for 2 years and you dont care?”
“two years, huh? i spent 45 years in a post apocalyptic world as a 13 year old and beyond”
“i didn’t say it was a competition, dude. you kinda dropped us all at different times. at least, me and dad. he—”
“is trying to kill lee harvey oswald, i know. come with me”
finally running into your other aunts and uncles, who were so excited to see you
you ran into their arms and they picked you off the ground and you felt closer than ever after only knowing them for 10 days
dad broke out
lila too
“im your new mom!”
“you’re what?”
diego dragged you along with him almost everywhere
he had missed you so much, but he keeps forgetting you kinda grew up without him for a while longer
meeting grandpa :)
“a grandchild, huh? how unfortunate”
“bitch”
“what did you just call me?”
“a bitch.”
your dad and basically the entire table trying to hold back laughter
reggie was stunned
cold hearted just like him <3 he didn’t know if he was offended or proud
this is so confusing
diego just disappeared off the face of the earth
and assassins were on your case
“the goddamn swedes are back oh shittt im gonna die”
“y/n, just curve their bullets”
“it’s not as easy as it sounds, klaus!”
you were doomed
theres too much to go over
apparently you died on a farm????
and then you didn’t??????
and your dad was almost apart of the commission
“hey, you okay, y/n?”
“i would like to take a nap please”
“yeah, me too”
“me three!” -klaus
yeah it was never that simple 😌💕 the end

Can you write a oneshot were the reader is Bellas sister and Alec Volturi human mate and she goes missing and the Cullens never notify the Volturi until Alec and the guards shows up wanting to see her and finds out she has been missing for a month. Can it have a happy ending were Demetri finds her and she is alive but a little beat up.
Hellooo, I made this take place at the same time Victoria was making the army and going for Bella and etc. I hope you like it.💞
Stress.
Pairing: Alec Volturi x fem! human! reader.
Summary: After coming back from Italy and now having to deal with your sister and family being in danger, the stress makes you go for a walk that ends up really bad.
TW: Kidnapping, violence.
You really loved your sister, you truly did but lately she's been getting in a lot of trouble, even tho some good things come with it not everything has been rainbows and flowers.
Not long ago, you find out that Bella's boyfriend was a vampire and was trying to get himself killed by the volturi who were supposedly like a vampire government. And also you decided to go to Italy with your sister to Italy because to be honest you didn't trust the cullens anymore.
Alice was kind and sweet? yes but she didn't reply to your sister while they were away. It broke your heart seeing Bella sad and not being able to cheer her up. Edward could have handle things way better and everybody knew that, you didn't care if he lived or die but your sister did.
Even tho you didn't like Jacob either, you supported his idea of Bella staying in forks instead of going to save her stupid boyfriend, but since she will go anyway you go with her. Alice insisted that you shouldn't but you tell her that if they didn't let you go you will tell your dad the truth and you end up going.
What you didn't expect from that already unexpected trip was finding your "mate". And that said mate being one of the most important volturi guards and one of the most dangerous vampires in the world.
Even tho the Cullens and even Bella tried to paint Alec as a villain once you get to know him, he was really sweet. He always cared for you and show how important you were for him.
But you couldn't stay in Italy forever, not yet at least. You have to come back to forks and you did. You told your dad about a guy you met in Italy and he see that guy make you happy so he was a little bit more accepting that he was with Edward.
Your sister hided a lot of things from you but once you started to see how nervous she was when a lot of murders were reported in the news, you knew she knew something you didn't.
You asked her about it and once she told you everything, the truth hit you like a train and unlike your sister your vampire boyfriend wasn't any near to protect you.
One night you decided to take a walk to clear your mind, but it didn't end up very well. A vampire end up kidnapping you confusing you with your sister, he took you to a dark place and keep you locked up giving you the bare minimum of food and water to keep you alive and having a little energy in case you wanted to finally tell him information about your sister.
But you never told him anything about her, or your dad or the cullens, which made him mad and end up with you being beated up. He could kill you if he wanted but you could be useful so he let you live.
You didn't know how long you have been keep held hostage but all you wanted was to comeback home and be with Alec and your family.
The vampire that kidnapped you have showed up every single day to bring you food but one day he didn't. You panicked a little thinking that he won't feed you anymore and would you starve and dehydrate till your death.
But what you didn't know is that the vampire was going to fight the Cullens and try and kill your sister. The Cullens could manage to kill all the newborns and Victoria and Riley with help of the pack and once the volturi arrived and get done with the "business" they were there for. The first thing your mate asked was where you were, thing that neither the Cullens nor your sister could answer.
Alec feel panic and rage fill his body, how they could be so reckless about your safety and didn't even bother to tell him about what happened. You were his mate, the person he loved the most in the whole world.
After he cursed at the Cullens and Bella with every word of every lenguage he knew, he told Demetri to please track you, and he did obviously.
You were about to pass out from hunger, the energy you had for the meal of yesterday was gonna be gone soon but before you could close your eyes to rest a loud soon of a door falling to the floor wake you up. You felt panic thinking that you were gonna die now but you have pleasent surprise when you see Alec and Demetri entering the room you were in.
—Oh my God, are you okay? — Alec asked you looking you up and down with panic after breaking the chains that keep you locked in the room.
The first thing you did was hugging him with all the energy you had left in your body. — Thank you so much for saving me, I was so scared I never see you again. — You whispered with a weak voice. He hugged you back and then held you in his arms bride style.
—It's okay, your never going to go through something like this again. — He said softly and after hearing his voice say those sweet words, your eyes closed to rest a little bit in his arms.

Total Opposite (part 5)
Paul Lahote x swan reader
Masterlist
After that day at the forest with Paul, i slowly start to get close with the others. Uncle Harry told me everything that i need to know and he assured me that I'll be safe with the Quileute and don't have to worry about anything.
Me and the Clearwaters still hangout together after school, despite Paul always want me to spend time with him. But i can't help it. We are just friends, and i'm not ready to step into another level.
Unfortunately, Seth and Leah phased not long after, surprised both Uncle Harry and Sue. Now, they are joining Sam's pack. Seth totally happy about his new ability, while Leah didn't take it well, get caught between Sam and Emily. I feel bad about her, so i tried to be there for her, cheer her up and make her feel comfortable enough on the pack.
Oh, by the way, Bella already told me everything about Cullens. She said that the one who saved me back then was Carlisle. But she never push me to meet them yet. "I just wanted you to know that not every vampires are bad. The one with red eyes eat people and you have to be carefull around them. But the golden eyes are safe. They are vegetarian. When you are ready, i'll let you meet them. Carlisle always asked me if you are okay now..." I tried to accept the fact that my sister close to a family of vampires and she's so fine with it. "I'll try to understand it, okay? I still need time.." she nod understandingly.
Who can imagine that only 2 days later i get attacked by a red hair vampire? Lucky me.
I'm driving my car after doing groceries. It still in the afternoon and usually it's totally okay. But, to my bad luck, someone or i can say a woman, with red hair standing in the middle of the road, making me break hard. My car turn around a few times before crashing into a tree. With a blurry views and heachaches, i barely see the red hair woman walk toward me and drag me out of the car. I groan in pain. She crunched down and look me straight into my eyes, her red eyes glowing. My breath hitch as the memories flowing into my head. I can't find my voice nor move my body as she reach down my throat, licking her lips. "Your blood smell so nice... like your sister. Maybe if i can't have your sister, i can have you as a dinner." She said, making me frightened.
Her mouth slowly reach my neck, as her tried to suck me up to death. I can't think about anything. Not even thinking about help or getting out of her. But before she can suck my blood, a loud growl coming from the trees, making the woman turn to see the creatures.
A big massive black wolf is growling at her, baring his teeth. Behind him, walk one by one a bunch of wolves. The red hed woman release me and stand up. She mutteted something under breath and run aways shortly being chased by the wolves. One wolf stand infront of me, then he crunch down, licks my face. With blurry views, i notice that the wolf is Paul, from his grey fur. Then, beside me there's sandy fur wolf, poking me on my hands, whining. Seth.
Not long after, both of them change back into human form, wearing a cut short jeans. Paul run into me, crunching down and pick me up bridal style. I groan in pain as he pick me up. "Hang in there, okay? Seth, call your mom. Let's meet up at Emily's." Seth nod and run into different path as me and Paul head back to Emily. I realised his hands are shaking while carrying me. I try to look up at him, seeing his hard face.
"I'm... fine...." i whispers, slowly find my voice. Paul tightening his grip. "No, you're not.. i nearly lose you..."
Soon after we arrive at Emily's. As Paul lay me down on the sofa, Emily has been busy taking a bowl of warm water and towel to clean up my wounds. Sue comes later with Seth, with some medical equipments on her hands. She quickly treated my wound and give me pain killers and some medicines.
"Luckily her wounds aren't deep. She just need some rest for a few days and she will be fine." She said after taking care of me. The boys and Leah already back in the middle of my treatment.
"(Y/n), you should stay here. I'll prepare the guest room for you. I'll call Charlie to let him know that you will stay us." Sam said.
"Will he be okay?" I'm not sure Dad will be okay with me staying with Sam and the others.
"I'll let him know that (y/n) will be staying with us. I'll take care of it." Sue suggest, since she also close with Dad. Sam nod in agreement.
Sue, Leah and Seth go home short after, Emily is preparing my room to stay, Paul and the guys are with me, sitting or standing close to me, like they are guarding me. "Just go home, guys.. i'll be safe here.." i said, feeling bad about them.
"Jared, Embry and Paul will be staying here. Jacob and Quil will guard your home. Victoria must be hunting Bella too." Sam said as the boys nod.
"(Y/n), the room is ready. Come on, let's move you so you can rest well." Emily walk down and Paul pick me up slowly, bridal style, and head up into the guest room. He lay me down softly on the bed and lay himself beside me, hugging me under his chin, securing me.
"I'm sorry... i couldn't protect you well.." he whispered, almost crying. I sigh softly. "It's not your fault. We didn't know that she hunt me too. It's okay. I'll be fine, don't worry."
"Still... with you having that traumatized moment, and with that red hair woman..." I pat his hand, which hug me tightly on my waist, snuggling more into his warmth. "Let's sleep okay? You are here now, with the others, and i finally can rest well.." i start to drift into darkness and soon sleep consume me.
~~
In a days where i'm healing, the packs start to have join power with the Cullens and train with them, when they heard about a new born army lead by Victoria. She targeted Bella for revenge to Cullen since they killed her mate, James. Classic.
"We will go for a war with the new borns in a few days." Sam said as the packs are having a lunch at Emily. Paul grip on my body tighten as i sit on him, eating lunch.
"How about Bella?" I asked.
"She will be with Jacob and Edward, staying in the mountain, while the rest of us fighting the new born." Jared said as my eyes widen.
"What?! Are you serious?! What the hell?!" My usual calm attitude, snap as i heard about it. The others flinch at my sudden attitude, shock that i snap like that. "Edward and Jacob didn't fight?! What the hell is that! That's not fair."
"(Y/n)... calm down... maybe they have another strategy.." Paul, shockingly, the one who calm me down. I huff and continue to eat my lunch.
"It's fine, (y/n).. maybe Edward try to hide your sister scent or lure Victoria to him.... we don't know.. just believe that everything will be okay." Sam try to assured me.
"Still.. if one of you get hurt, i'll definitely kill her myself." I murmured, gulping down my lunch.
Paul laugh softly, kissing my side head. "I never knew you can be this fierce.."
"You better not know, Paul... but she really can kill people if she's mad..." Seth murmured, knowing very well about me. "Better not make her angry if you don't want to die.." the guys laugh loudly. And that we start to enjoy our lunch before the war.
Emily, Kim and I are waiting impatiently for the packs to come back from the war. We silently pray that all of them are okay and not hurt. But when Seth running hurriedly toward us, we knew that something must happened.
"Jake's hurt. He's at Billy's waiting for Carlisle to help him."
Me and Emily hurriedly go to Billy's while Kim had to come home. As we arrive at Billy's, i immediately go to Paul and hug him tightly. Part of me relief that he's okay, and part of me because i'm scared about Jacob. Paul hug me back tightly and kiss my head. "I'm fine... everything will be fine.. Jake will be fine..." He keeps saying it.
Carlisle arrive later, and hurriedly get inside the house with Sam. Short after, Jake's scream fill the air. I flinch and burried my head into Paul's arm, hugging him by the waist tightly. Seth, who stand beside me, rub my hand, try to calm me down. While Paul, hugging me and with his hands close my ears so i don't really heard Jake's scream.
The sound of car engine approaching us take our attention. Bella's truck is parking and she hurriedly walk toward us. I glare at my sister, want to yell at her, but Paul held me down. "It's been going on a while, doc rebreaking his bone so it can heal properly." Jared said.
"Why did he had to butt in? I could take him." Leah said with so much guilt on her voice. I know it's not her fault.
"Oh, give it a rest, Leah." Paul snap. I tighten my grip on his waist, try to just drop it.
Soon, the scream died down and Carlisle walk out with Sam. "He's fine. I give him a medicine and his body temperature will burn it off soon." He said as Billy sigh in relief. I sigh and slowly loosen my grip on Paul, looking at the others. "He is searching for you, Bella." I glare at my sister. Why must her? How about Billy?
"Thankyou." Billy offer his hand to Carlisle which he return. Then he is off, back home maybe.
Bella glance at Billy as he nod, approving, and Bella get inside the house. I huff, annoyingly. Paul rub my back slowly. "She's so annoying..." i murmured.
"Calm down, (y/n)... it's not partly Bella's fault..." Seth said.
I raise my eyebrows. "Really? To me it still her fault.. because she's having a relationship with vampires that it end up like this." I snap with so much venom.
"(Y/n), dear.. calm down.." Sue said, softly, and Billy just smile.
I groan and freeing myself from Paul's grip. "I'll go back to Emily's.. i don't want to say something that i'll regret."
Sam nod understandingly. "Paul, go with her. Emily, you too. We can handle this." He said.
So the three of us back to Emily's to call it a day. As Emily prepare something for Sam to eat, me and Paul are laying down on the bed, in each other arms.
What happened this few weeks with the new born army make my relationship with Paul go further. We complete each other out, and i feel more safe with him and the packs. "I'm glad that i got imprinted by you.. i could never imagine if i'm not.. what will happened to me if you guys didn't save me from Victoria. I'm thinking about my Dad, but having Uncle Billy and Uncle Harry being with him make me calmer. But, Bella.. huh.. even if i want her happiness, but this are so stupid.. having a happy relationship with vampires.. i can't imagine it. And this is what happened..."
Paul look down at me, who lying on his arms, hugging his waist tightly. "Me too... if i didn't met you and imprinted on you, maybe i'll never change and always be the bad guy. But you change me to a better man. I never imagine thay i'll be the one who calm you down.." he chuckle. "I'm gratefull that our ancestor pick you to become my imprint. I could never ask for more. Just you by my side is enough for me."
We, enjoying each other warmth, talking so much about our relationship and life ahead. The bond is deeper now. And i'm ready to take this into another level. "Are you sure? I won't push you if you are not ready yet.."
"I'm ready, Paul... besides it just a boyfriend and girlfriend thing.." i shrug.
"So, will you be my girlfriend, (y/n) Swan?" He asked, smile widely. I look up at him. "Of course. Why do you still ask if you already know the answer?"
"Just want to make it more formal?" We both laugh and enjoying the night. Slowly drifting into sleep as tiredness hit both of us.

Imagine this Twilight/THOHH AU:
Everything happened as we see in the show (the childhood trauma) except Shirley's "happily" married (no children) and the business is doing great. Until she meets the competition: a new neighbor named Carlisle (they did mention a Carlisle so...), they fall in love and she feels guilty (as we see in the show). Then the adult Crains siblings go through all that shit we know (Nell dying, visiting the house, etc). Except, Hugh doesn't die and Luke doesn't get poisoned. Instead, Shirley gets the poison but she doesn't get in the Red Room. The other siblings + Hugh do and Nell has THAT convo with them. However, Shirley gets out of the house somehow and dies in the porch or something like that. Buuuut, Carlisle, knowing the family's story, follow the siblings and arrives to HH and changes her on time (yes, he is a vampire). He then helps her to save the others but, like she died outside, she doesn't stay at HH. But she obviously doesn't tell the others that she's now a vampire so, after everything has passed, she gets divorced, start a relationship with Carlisle and a couple of years later (she gives her siblings some time to recover from HH) fakes her own and Carlisle's deaths. She then changes her name to Esme.
As for the Cullens, everything happened as we know in the movies except Esme never existed (Carlisle was a single dad). So..when Carlisle meets Shirley for the first time, the events in the movies already passed (Renesmee's name is different lol). So the Cullens just moved to Boston (I believe that's where Shirley lives??) and opened a funeral home (I know, I know lmaoooo). Then happens what I already told you. Shirley now Esme meets the rest of the Cullens and they obviously love her and she and Carlisle live happily ever after.
THE END.
This is brilliant anon!! I absolutely love this au/ crossover!!!❤️❤️❤️ Given that canon Shirley and Esme share a caring nature, there's no doubt that vampire Shirley could ease into the role of mother and caregiver.
And Shirley's strong personality would definitely make Carlisle × Shirley story more dramatic and interesting.
Thank you so much for sending me this💖

Not fic: Cursed Twilight addition
So I’m about to have my BNHA rights revoked but I just finished Midnight Sun (at the time when I started writing this) and started thinking about the characters and that Rosalie and Bakugo are weirdly similar so now here I am outlining a Twilight Au that no one asked for (except me but I’m garbage) that I will never write because I can’t focus long enough to write an actual story (fun fact this outline is taking months to complete). To be honest though this is more of a background on all the characters as opposed to an outline of the Twilight story (oops) which may or may not come later. Author’s notes are in parenthesis if you haven’t figured that out.
Basically I’m replacing Twilight characters with BNHA characters, not everyone will have the same back story, it’ll be blended(future me: um so that was a lie). Everyone’s quirks are still mostly the same but as their vampire gift with some variation to fit the word. It still takes place in the Pacific north-west because I’m not super sure if there’s a place as cloudy as there in Japan besides the mountains like Mt.Fuji (but that’s more misty I think) but there’s too many people around places like that I feel. But then again I’m not actually writing this whole fic so you’re welcome to imagine them still in Japan. If I did write this as a fic I would actually do proper research to decide where to put them but meh, this is a not-fic. As it is I’m calling the town it would take place in Forks/Crossroads cause that would be a cool alternative name. The backgrounds take place all over the word but I never actually say where. My bad.
Also if you do read this I love you very much and I am so sorry, this is ramble-y and has way too many run-on sentences and is written as if I were speaking to you as opposed to an actual written story. It’s also taken so long to complete things I wasn’t sure about in the beginning become solidified later but it’s also written out of order so probably reads really bad. Again my apologies.
So the characters are as follows:
The Olympic Coven/Cullens - The Might Coven/Aizawa-Yagis
Carlisle Cullen- Toshinori Yagi
So obviously I made Toshi Carlisle because suave blond everyone loves is both of their MO. Toshi is probably around 500 years old and like Carlisle was turned while hunting vampires. I still want him to have two forms but I’m not entirely sure how to do that within the confines of the Twilight universe. Maybe he was injured in a battle where he literally lost parts of himself and can’t fully heal so he’s become weak but still can’t die? He’s a doctor but might be semi-retired because of his injury, the cover story is an undisclosed chronic illness. He’s also a part time stay at home dad. He definitely used his vampirism to help and protect humans in the past.
Probably had a coven when he was younger with Nana and Torino but Nana was killed and Torino sent Toshi away for his own safety. He may or may not have started out as vegetarian, I can see Nana as veg or only eats bad people, Torino is an eats bad guys type but will eat anyone when pressed. Toshi either started out as a vegetarian before meeting Nana or if she found him immediately and took him in he would go animal based pretty quickly, She always respected his lifestyle. Grand Torino respects it to an extent but now that Toshi is hurt wants him to drink from humans because he thinks it’ll help Toshinori heal or at least be better for his body. He was in his 40s when turned.
Esme Cullen- Shouta Aizawa
It should surprise literally no one that I’m making this Erasermight because I am soft for my boys and anything is an excuse to ship them. Shouta is honestly the person who has taken the longest to work out along with Shinsou. Like so, so, long. These two are also related, they’re cousins or uncle/nephew or something. They’re also the most different from their counterparts, probably because it’s taken so long for me to work their stories out I’ve just completely changed them from original Twilight.
So the time period is really vague with him, it’s either the late 1800s or WWI. Hitoshi was an orphan around the age of 12 and Shouta his guardian is 30-31. Either way there was a war (and I looked at the wars in the second half of the 1800s, it’s just so many wars. What is wrong with this world?) and it could have easily been the civil war (and if so they were Unionist, obviously.) But wherever he and Hitoshi lived there was a war happening and he was probably not in the army at the time, just protecting his home and neighbors. At the same time Toshinori and Izuku were in the area trying to help civilians because wars suck and they’re basically un-killable so they can help and with the chaos of everything if someone started to suspect something of them they could fake their deaths and leave. And they probably did. But while traveling through they stop in a town/village and meet Shouta and Hitoshi.
Shouta is his gruff no nonsense self and Hitoshi is a little in awe of Yagi because this is still pre-injury so he’s this huge imposing man who’s gentle and knowledgeable about medicine. Eventually even Shouta comes around to liking Yagi, who has the nickname All Might because of his strength, even though he thinks his over the top enthusiasm in front of others is exhausting. In private Toshi ends up letting his guard and persona down with Aizawa because he realizes he doesn’t have to keep it up, he doesn’t need to make Aizawa like and trust him the way he does with the others, it’s just natural the way they click. Toshi probably fell in love first, vampires fall in love fast and long and all encompassing in a way that if they were human would be rather unhealthy (and probably is anyway because this is fiction but I don’t really care because this is fiction and I relate to unhealthy love way too much). Shouta was more reserved because he is a cautious man by nature and probably loves in a similar but more healthy way to vampires, long and devoted, but he must be careful to whom he gives his heart. I still don’t think he meant to fall for Toshinori, loving a man in the time that they lived was dangerous and inadvisable if one could avoid it. But Toshinori Yagi is the kind of man one cannot help but loving.
They didn’t tell each other how they felt though. A few months after Izuku and Toshinori’s arrival there was an attack on the town, Hitoshi they found safe but Toshinori caught wind of Shouta’s scent and followed, finding him mortally wounded. Desperate to keep him Toshi turned him and split off from Izuku and Hitoshi while Shouta adjusted to vampire life. They quickly became lovers, though Shouta had a brief stint as a human blood drinker as revenge for the destruction of his village. But it started to test their relationship and in the end Toshi and his own morals were more important to him than human blood. The four of them reunite a year later and they try to keep their relationship a secret but both of the boys figure it out pretty quickly. Izuku accepts it immediately because his dad is finally with someone and is happy while it takes Hitoshi a bit of time because period typical homophobia and it’s going to take a while for Yagi to earn his trust back after turning Aizawa in front of him.
Aizawa has an erasure power same as in canon. Since he doesn’t need to blink he’s a bit op but opponents who are faster than his eyes can track and multiple opponents are his weaknesses. He’s a history teacher at Forks/Crossroads high but purposefully does not have his own kids as students. He’s a mystery to most of his colleagues who probably haven’t even figured out he’s got five kids in the school.
Rosalie Hale- Katsuki Bakugo
Bakugo has a pretty similar start to Rosalie but because what happened to her is so awful and I have problems doing that even to fictional characters that part is different. He’s still a rich kid from the early 20th century, probably turned in the 1920s, but he and his explosive temperament pissed off the wrong people who jumped him in an alley and beat him almost to death, like actually thought he was dead so they left him there (I know this isn’t that much better than what happened to Rose but man she had a horrific end to her human life). He was around 17-18 when he was turned.
While human he had met Dr. Yagi, who was probably treating one of his parents for a chronic ailment, along with his son Izuku and his ‘companion’ Aizawa and Aizawa’s ward Hitoshi. All of the others gave him the creeps but Izuku was a relatively normal boy, a bit younger than himself and accompanied his father when visiting the Bakugos. Their relationship is pretty much the same as canon where Izuku likes Bakugo a lot and Bakugo is nothing but awful to him. They end up with a sort of ‘I hate you but you’re my best friend’ relationship except neither actually hates the other. When Yagi finds Bakugo half dead in an alley he turns him because he was weirdly fond of the angry young man and more so because he thought that the relationship between the two boys was growing into something more, he and Izuku hadn’t talked about it, as he was waiting for his son to come to him, and he didn’t have time to ask. He realizes later that no, Katsuki and Izuku are not star crossed lovers like he and Shouta but he can’t say he regrets turning Bakugo other than Bakugo’s own hatred of being a vampire. He loves his angry son okay.
Bakugo had a life goal which was probably taking over the family business though based off canon that would be fashion and I can’t see him interested in that. Whatever it was he was pursuing it with the same single mindedness that he possesses for heroism and since he can no longer achieve his goals as a vampire he resents it along with the fact that the decision to become a vampire or die a human was taken away from him. He does have a good relationship with Toshinori and Shouta even though he still acts like a brat. His cover story is that he’s Toshinori’s cousin’s son and is an orphan who they took in. He kept his family’s name.
Like a number of vampires Bakugo has a talent or gift. His is his incredibly powerful and dangerous explosion ability. He can cause explosions from his palms. So far the League has not discovered him but everyone worries that one day they will and the Might Coven will be hunted and slaughtered for Bakugo’s power.
Emmett Cullen- Eijirou Kirishima
Sometime around the 1930s Bakugo was hunting and found a bleeding almost dead Kirishima. It was either an animal attack like canon or an accident where he fell off a cliff (that feels like something he would do). I don’t think he decided to turn Kirishima, he just smelled blood and lost control. He’s still ashamed about how he reacted to this day as he’s typically better than that around humans. Luckily the others were hunting with him and were able to pull Bakugo off. He’s never held what Bakugo did against him and his enthusiasm and friendship actually endeared him to Katsuki despite his guilt. Eijirou was turned at 19 and has never had issues with being a vampire, it sucks that he had to leave his human family behind but he loves his vampire one just as much and he got the love of his life out of it. It took awhile but Katsuki and Eijirou eventually admit their feelings and they start dating. They’ve been married a few times now because Bakugo is extra and Eijirou loves confessing his love.
With Kirishima’s gift it doesn’t work the same as in cannon where you can tell it’s activated. In fact they still might not know Kiri has a gift or if they do it’s only a suspicion. He’s just harder than the other marble like vampires. Where the others have almost certainly had mild injuries (mostly from Bakugo’s explosions) like cracks that heal immediately, Eijirou has never been injured as a vampire. At all. He’s also immensely strong, because he was as a human, and that has been enhanced but he’s nowhere near as strong as Toshi was pre-injury. His cover story is he’s a foster kid they took in and he keeps the last name Kirishima.
Alice Cullen- Denki Kaminari
Like Alice Denki spent the end of his human life in an insane asylum (I refer to it as such because these were not hospitals and more like institutions of torture). I honestly can’t figure out if mental health care was so bad in the early/mid 20th century that a 15-16 year old boy with ADHD being sent to one is unrealistic or not. I’m pretty sure it was similar to Alice where he saw something he shouldn’t and was put in it to silence him.( I should probably figure out what that was sometime) Either way that’s where he ended up and of course he had to deal with electroshock ‘therapy’ which both severely messed with his memory and sorta brought out a natural resistance and even control over electricity, so he had to receive stronger and stronger sessions. This manifested in Denki’s electric power when he was turned into a vampire.
While hunting in the woods surrounding the institution, Hitoshi spotted Denki in the window and was instantly taken by the boy with eyes as golden as his inhuman family’s. He would make trips by the asylum just to get a glimpse and eventually took a night job there to meet him against his family’s advice. When they met Denki recognized him despite how careful, and honestly far away, Hitsohi had been and instead of being creeped out he was happy just to make a new friend. They would talk as long as they could and Hitoshi would bring Denki little bits of the outside world like flowers or decent snacks. And he would take care of Kaminari when his ‘therapies’ would leave him incapacitated and the nursing staff would neglect him.
Even after his family moved away to a location where the weather suited them better Hitoshi stayed working at the asylum not willing to leave Denki to his fate there (And to note this is around the time the others realized how serious Hitoshi’s feelings are and start planning how to help Kaminari or bring him into the family. Before this they were starting to suspect but kinda thought he was being weird about a guy he saw in a window. To be fair though he was being weird about a guy he saw in a window.) One night after an ice bath ‘treatment’ Denki developed a fever and over the course of a few days had full blown pneumonia. In his delirium he confessed his feelings to Shinsou who reciprocated and decided he would steal Denki away when he knew the trip back to his family wouldn’t kill the sick boy. Of course being a poorly run and over populated institution his condition was overlooked and ignored especially since a ‘specialist’ was coming to perform procedures on several patients, aka some guy with no degree was going to lobotomize as many people as he could fit into one day. Shinsou didn't find out until he came in that night and found out Kaminari was already in the procedure room. He flipped out and killed most of the staff there and took a severely injured Denki home to Toshinori in the hopes of saving him.
The change seemed to take longer than it had for the others but does end up working, though when he finally comes to Denki is much more quiet and subdued and remembers almost nothing about his past. All he knows is his name, Hitoshi’s name, and that he loves him. He also has weird headaches periodically for decades later and slowly becomes more like himself before the lobotomy. He never fully recovers his memories, a bit here and a piece there, all moments shared with Hitoshi. He decides he doesn’t need the rest, everything he needs is here and in his future with his family.
His cover story is typically as a foster kid so he keeps his last name Kaminari. Sometimes he decides to change things up and goes as a Yagi or even Bakugo’s brother when Katsuki is feeling generous.
Jasper Hale- Hitoshi Shinsou
Hitoshi’s early years were spent in his small town or village (I think the difference is size but I’m american and I don’t think we have villages no matter how small a place is so...) Everything was uneventful up until the war, I don’t know which war, civil war in US or WWI in Europe, but around the age of 12 his village was destroyed, his guardian was turned into a vampire and he had to go live with Izuku while Aizawa learned to manage his bloodlust. During that time he and Izuku grew really close and even now they have the most brotherly relationship out of all the siblings.
So after a year the four reunite with a vampire Shouta and an overly protective Izuku and a very weary Hitoshi. Everything goes on as it did for Toshinori and Izuku before they split but now with their two new additions. Yagi gives Hitoshi the best education he can without sending him to boarding school although they had discussed it. They were in a precarious position with a human boy knowing their vampire secret and they couldn’t run the risk of news getting back to the League, the governing body of vampires run by a mysterious head known only as All for One.
Years pass but unfortunately news of the Might Coven’s human pet gets back to the League and due to past history involving Nana and Toshi, AfO comes himself to deal with the situation and brings his two most powerful underlings, his adopted son and second in command Tomura Shigaraki and . A fight between Yagi and All for One happens and AfO rips out a piece of Toshi’s side and Toshi ends up crushing AfO’s head, killing him (maybe but probably not). Tomura, who had been fighting against Shouta and Toga who battled Izuku, realize they can’t win.
Now the vampire known as All Might is pretty popular amongst his kind but the Might Coven was at the time nowhere near strong enough or influential enough to fill the void that would be left by the dissolution of the League, which would happen if they killed all three of the vampires there. So they took a gamble and spared Shigaraki and Toga thinking their loyalty to AfO was limited, since most vampires don’t form bonds the way ‘vegetarians’ seem to, and that they would be happy with their promotion. They also agreed at Hitoshi’s insistence that he would be turned so they would no longer have a human knowing the secret about vampires. So Yagi turns Hitoshi and they let Toga and Shigaraki go and continue about their lives as much as they can with Toshinori’s injury.
Just like the rest of his family, Shinsou's quirk is the same as canon. If someone answers his question he can control their minds. It’s probably a little stronger than in canon too, at least against humans. Vampires have better resistance. His cover story is the most truthful, he’s Shouta’s orphan relative. He sometimes takes on Aizawa’s last name though in this school he decided to use his original.
Edward Cullen- Izuku Midoriya
The more I plot this out the more I’m taking Twilight, stripping it down to the bare outline, and making it into something totally different. Like the only similarities are Izuku and Shoto’s relationship follows Bella and Edwards, somewhat. Izuku is the tanned skinned, freckled, green eyed boy in a family of pale golden eyed outsiders. He seems completely human even to other vampires, til you get him in the sunlight where he literally shines.
I’m not sure when Izuku was born, maybe the 1700s, but he was still the first of the Might Coven besides Toshinori. Sometime after Nana’s death Toshi finds an ailing pregnant woman named Inko Midoriya who’s bizarre husband still hasn’t come home from his business trip to a foreign country. She’s convinced she is going to die before he returns and her pregnancy is so hard and so seemingly fast but her baby feels strong enough to survive so she begs Toshinori to please take care of her son till his father returns. Inko dies before she can give birth to her baby so Toshinori takes the baby out himself as a last ditch effort but there’s something not right, not with the baby or the amniotic sac that’s almost as hard as Toshinori himself. And when the sun shines through the window Toshinori’s arm glimmers and so does the new born baby. Dread at the thought that he’s holding an immortal child wells in him but he’s never heard of an immortal child being born and he’s especially never heard of a vampire with a heart beat. So against his better judgement he takes the child and runs, he can’t wait for Inko’s husband, and he can’t risk someone seeing the child and reporting back to the League. So he and Izuku, a name Inko had picked out before her death, stay on the run for years as the boy grew until he was at an appropriate age to be around at least vampire kind. Conveniently the half vampire boy doesn’t need blood to survive and seems to have very little if any bloodlust at all. Or so it seemed.
Now some differences I’m making will be Izuku’s aging. I know Rennesme ages fast and stops when she looks 21-25 but I’m thinking Izuku either ages very slowly or stopped when he looks closer to 15-18? Probably the first one. Also I think male half-vamps have red/gold eyes but Izuku has green because I said so.
His cover story is that he's Toshinori’s son from a previous relationship. They tried to call him a foster child in the past but they’re too close and Izuku uses Toshinori’s given name and dad interchangeably. He likes to use his mom’s last name as a way to honor her. Not every school but it is a pretty common thing for him to do and he’s using it in Forks/Crossroads this year. He doesn’t seem to have a gift but he’s a half vampire, his presence is a gift.
Humans
Bella Swan- Shoto Todoroki
Time for ‘technically main character number two but I preferred everyone else in Twilight over Edward and Bella so he and Izuku get put down lower on the list’. So Todoroki and Bella’s similarities are: new kid comes to live with other parent after the parent they lived with got married. I really don’t think there’s a lot else similar? But Bella doesn’t have that much back story to begin with.
So Shoto’s parents grew up in Forks/Crossroads but moved somewhere sunnier before he was born. He grew up in a city, maybe Phoenix (almost certainly Phoenix for the name alone). His parents had an unhappy marriage but I honestly don’t think it was full on abuse, I feel like Enji still neglected them but never physically or verbally hurt anyone. And since Shoto moves back in with Rei I don’t think she gave him his scar either, I think it was an accident where young Shoto pulled maybe a hot kettle onto himself? It probably was the catalyst for his parents divorce but ultimately that was happening either way. Both parents blamed the other for his accident but I think the courts realized it was just that, an accident, maybe some negligence (I don’t really know how custody courts work and what happens when a kid gets hurt and this isn’t a real fic so I’m not researching) but either way Enji gets Shoto (maybe all the kids but Rei gets visitation, comes down for the summer like Charlie? Kids go up there for vacation and holiday? Or split the kids 50/50? No idea this is still more backstory than Bella got) Enji is still a workaholic and Toya ends up running away/leaving probably shortly after the divorce anyway and Fuyumi and Natsuo eventually leave for college and are still closer to Rei even if they lived with their dad.
So when Enji gets remarried Shoto asks to move in with his mom since she’s all alone and Enji wouldn’t be and ‘wouldn’t it be nice to just be two newly weds with the house to themselves’. He makes a very convincing case and Enji is trying to let his youngest make his own choices so he agrees. Shoto moves north and it isn’t the worst, he likes both the heat and the cold unlike his parents, Rei hates the heat and Enji hates the cold. School is weird because people actually want to be his friend; there’s a group of stoic, pale, intimidating students he’s 90% sure are vampires; and there’s a beautiful boy who hangs out with them who looks partially horrified and disgusted by him, or like he wants to eat him alive, literally.
Renee Dwyer- Enji Todoroki (Technically)
So I ended up making Enji considerably less awful.
After the divorce Enji figures out his sexuality and eventually starts dating a much younger model who goes by Hawks after he saves him from a burning building (Enji is a firefighter). Shoto offers to move in with Rei after Hawks and Enji get married, he has nothing against Hawks and they get along as well as can be expected but they are newly weds and Enji might be going into semi retirement to travel with Hawks for his career. And the thought of being around his dad so much, who can get a little overbearing when not working, is just not something Shoto wants to deal with. Though it is weird his dad is married to someone so much younger, Shoto knows several other people in his class in Phoenix whose dads did similar and they cheated on their wives and didn’t even have a sexuality crisis in their forties so he’s letting his dad slide on this. Shoto definitely has a better relationship with Enji in this than canon Shoto but they don’t have Enji’s shity eugenics baggage here either. Overall Enji in this is just a neglectful workaholic who’s learning to work on himself with the guidance of the love of his life and is letting Shoto make his own decisions like living with his mom and this is all growth.
Charlie Swan- Rei Todoroki (Technically)
So Rei after the divorce moves back home because she hates Phoenix and hot weather. Maybe she gets custody in the summer or has Fuyumi and Natsuo since Toya took off and they split the kids? (I still haven’t decided how the custody went with those two but they don’t live in Forks/Crossroads or Phoenix so it doesn’t matter.)
After returning home she either started working at or opened up a yarn shop, I see her enjoying needle craft and she’s definitely not a sheriff type. She’s just a quiet, keeps to herself woman with a few close friends; children mostly grown and just happy to spend more time with her youngest.
Phil Dwyer- Keigo Takami
He’s a model who gets saved by Enji when his apartment burns down. He offers to take Enji to dinner and keeps offering to reward him until at Moe’s insistence Enji agrees. They hit it off and the rest is history.
Things I would have said in the tags but there’s a limit so I put the actual important stuff there and ramblings here:
It took me three weeks to finish this (midnight sun) audiobook. I literally drive for a living and couldn’t finish it in less than the entirety of my library rental time. Jake Able deserves more money.
I have read twilight three times now and it never gets easier. Yes I do have terrible taste.
I hope someone reads this. It took like three months to finish this post. I still have so much in my head. I haven’t even started talking about the League. Please ask questions, I want to actually write this but my brain won’t let me write full fics so this is what we get.

PROLOGUE
CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 3
the one where JJ makes his choice pretty clear
After two weeks of spending almost every waking minute with his new friend, JJ is starting to wonder if he’ll be able to keep up with her for much longer. Scarlett’s appetite for debauchery and disaster was insatiable and despite JJ’s best efforts to slow her down (“why don’t we just get lunch?” “why the fuck would we do that?”), she seemed intent on showing JJ a good time, Kook style.
After the initial night at Scarlett’s family mansion, where JJ climbed in her bedroom window like some sort of roughed up Edward Cullen and they drank their way through her mother’s gin collection, it had become a habit of JJ’s to seek Scarlett out at any opportunity. Not only was she the only person who seemed to want to spend time with him, something JJ was still reconciling, but God was she fun. Scarlett took quickly to riding on the back of JJ’s dirt bike, sharing a joint and even had a go at shooting JJ’s gun (a short lived adventure, since a firing mishap caused JJ to leap to the side of the yard to avoid losing a pinky toe). Scarlett was easy to spend time with, a breath of fresh air and a reprieve from the drama and darkness JJ had been experiencing when he last saw the Pogues.
Who, by the way, have still neglected to get in contact with him.
JJ has been holding onto false hope. He’s swinging between complete disbelief and hurt that his friends haven’t spoken to him in two weeks, and almost blinding rage that he apparently means so little to them. He doesn’t often have that much time to dwell on it though, since every time he’s remotely upset or quiet as a result of his former-but-the-jury’s-still-out-on-that friends, Scarlett is there to pick him right up and distract him in all the ways she knows how.
They spend most of their nights drinking on the beach or at Scarlett’s house, where her parents are never really around, since JJ swore up and down that he was never going to a Kook party with Scarlett. She had tried to convince him to no avail and gave up pretty quickly when JJ pointed out Rafe Cameron would most likely be in attendance, since he wasn’t even trying to lay low after literally murdering someone, and JJ was not going to be held liable for any injuries he may cause. So they settled for each other’s company – sharing joints that JJ taught Scarlett how to roll, stacking beer bottles, going on late night motorbike rides and in one instance, seeing how easily they could blow something up. It didn’t take much convincing for JJ to change his phone background, the cracked screen now giving way to a photo of him and Scarlett messing about on his bike.
Simply put, JJ is trying his best to forget about the whole “one of my best friends is missing and presumed dead and the others don’t even want to talk to me” situation.
Scarlett is a nice distraction.
It helps that she’s gorgeous.
JJ isn’t stupid, he knows he’s spending time with someone absolutely beautiful and at times he struggles to understand why she would want to slum it with him. He’s not immune to how soft her thigh is when it brushes against his, or how her smile always reaches her eyes where the skin around them creases as she laughs, or how cute she looks with her dark hair tied up. JJ figures she must think something of him too – he notices how her hands linger longer on his waist when he brings his bike to a halt, how she’s affectionately started calling him Jay, and he certainly hasn’t forgotten how Scarlett kissed him on the cheek as he left her house last night.
JJ is as shocked as anyone would be that he’s started hanging out with a Kook, let alone calling her his friend and admitting to himself that he finds her hot. He’d be stupid not to, he is a sixteen-year-old guy after all, and she’s a stunning rich girl with a pert ass and deep brown eyes. He’s only human.

A knock on the front door of the Chateau brings JJ out of his reverie and he swings his legs around to hop off the couch where he’s been lying for the last three hours. After another late night at Scarlett’s the evening before, JJ somehow made his way home to crash on the couch to get some sleep before Scarlett was due to come over.
JJ runs his hand through his messy blonde hair and pads over to the door, yawning widely as he pulls it open. Scarlett is standing on the porch steps, dressed in her usual sundress and holding two six packs.
She lifts both arms up in excitement as she says “Jay! Long time no see!”
JJ shakes his head and smiles softly to himself, stepping aside to let Scarlett walk in the front door. She twirls dramatically as she crosses the threshold and makes a direct beeline for the fridge, bottles clanking as she shoves them onto the shelf.
JJ follows her and leans against the kitchen doorframe, accepting a bottle of beer and popping the cap off with his sharp incisor.
“Welcome back, Scarlett. It’s only been, what, ten hours since we last saw each other?”
Scarlett rolls her eyes. “What, you got something better to do?”
JJ laughs hoarsely as he replies, “you know the answer to that.”
Scarlett bumps her hip into his as she squeezes through to doorway and winks at him. “I need to sit down,” she says. “I’m beat.”
JJ adjust the front of his shorts and grimaces. It appears he needed to relax too.
He makes his way to the living room with a half full beer bottle, the condensation coating his fingers and making the neck of the bottle slippery. JJ notices Scarlett has already downed one drink and is making some good headway on her second, before he decides to tilt the bottle down and away from her lips.
Scarlett glares at him and purses said lips, and JJ fights the urge to stare at them, forcing his eyes to remain locked on hers.
“What did you do that for?” She asks, looking grumpy.
JJ thinks she looks cute.
He shrugs. “Maybe you could slow down. It’s 3pm,” he replies.
“Hair of the dog,” Scarlett says as she completely defies JJ’s suggestion and finishes her second bottle, letting out a small burp as she does.
“Oops,” she giggles.
JJ sighs but he’s not mad, not really, and he lets Scarlett know by patting her on the knee, resting his hand there for slightly longer than necessary.
“Drink up wuss,” Scarlett says, winking at him and JJ would be stupid not to do what she says, so he downs his beer too and cracks open another one.
Scarlett is scrolling through her Spotify and trying to get it Bluetooth connected to the old speakers next to the couch (JJ has told her before that it won’t work but she’s stubborn, alright, and insists on trying), and JJ is sat in quiet contemplation on the couch when a sharp knock on the door reverberates through the room.
Scarlett’s head snaps up, her top bun bobbing as she turns towards JJ, eyes wide.
“Who’s that?” She asks. They weren’t expecting any guests.
“Shit,” says JJ, standing up and placing his beer on the floor. “It’s probably my Dad. Fuck.”
“Your dad? What is he doing here?”
JJ shakes his head and presses a finger to his lips. “Stay here, do not come out under any circumstances, you understand? I’ll talk to him for a bit and then hopefully he’ll fuck off, but if anything happens, just go out the back door okay?”
Scarlett narrows her eyes in confusion. “And just leave you here? No way.”
Another series of sharp knocks, this time more urgent.
“Scarlett, I don’t have time to argue. Just tell me you’ll get out of here, okay?”
Scarlett looks like she has the time to argue but nods anyway. “Okay.”
JJ steels himself and sets his jaw as he cautiously walks down the hallway and opens the front door.
It’s Kiara and Pope.
JJ blinks slowly. “What are you doing here?” He says abruptly, skipping the pleasantries.
Kiara looks at him, bemused. “No ‘hey Kie, nice to see you?’”
JJ scoffs. “No offence, Kiara, but I’m not too sure you deserve that right now.”
Kiara opens her mouth to respond, ever the hot-headed one, when Pope has the right idea to butt in.
“We missed you man; can we talk?” He says, fiddling with his cap.
JJ steps out onto the porch, leaving the door slightly ajar. “Yeah, we can talk. Where the fuck have you been?”
“It’s complicated-”
“-I couldn’t see you-”
“-it’s been really hard for us-”
JJ has to laugh at that one, and he turns to Kiara, eyes ablaze with fury. “It’s been really hard for you? Are you fucking kidding me? YOU LEFT ME! ALONE!”
Kiara steps back from JJ, as if she’s scared, and Pope brings his hand to the small of her back to comfort her.
“Come on man, there’s no need-”
“Where were you, Kiara? Why didn’t you talk to me?”
Kiara’s dark eyes fill with tears and her chin starts to wobble. “JJ, you know my parents, they had me on lockdown-”
JJ can’t believe what he’s hearing. “You could see Pope.”
“He’s my boyfriend JJ, and you’ve always known what my parents think-”
Pope has the good grace to stay quiet and let them at it.
“So what the fuck am I then? Huh?”
JJ wouldn’t have noticed Scarlett sneaking up behind him if it weren’t for the sudden hardened look in Kiara’s eyes.
JJ spins around, jaw clenched, as Scarlett asks, “What’s going on here?”
Kiara’s mouth drops open. “A Kook, JJ? Seriously? You’re fucking a Kook?”
JJ’s mouth opens and closes as he struggles to reply. “I-we’re not, we’re friends-we aren’t-”
“This is unbelievable,” Kiara spits. “I thought better of you JJ.”
Scarlett stares Kiara down, folding her arms across her chest.
“She was here for me, Kiara! You weren’t! You were NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! Some fucking friend you are!” JJ shouts.
Kiara looks like she wants to stay more but she decides against it as she simply mutters “unbelievable,” and throws her hands up, walking away.
JJ’s chest heaves and heart pounds with adrenaline as Pope looks at him apologetically.
“Man, I’m sorry, I have to go too, she’s my girlfriend-”
JJ cuts him off. “Whatever man; just leave. You’re good at that anyways.”
Pope looks hurt but simply nods at JJ and turns to run after Kiara as she stalks down the driveway, long cardigan flowing behind her.
Scarlett sighs and places her hand delicately on JJ’s shoulder, and it takes everything in him not to lean into her touch.
“Drink?” She says.

THE WHITE SUN AT MIDNIGHT | J.BLACK Ch. 23
Paige woke up that night through an ear-piercing scream. The door barged open to reveal Jake and Charlie, both with messy hair and worried faces. When Charlie finally returned from Harry’s that night, Jake insisted that he stay there, and Charlie compromised by making him sleep on the couch. The two males walked over to the shaking girl and slowly sat down beside her.
“Want to tell us about it?” Jacob asked, and Charlie rubbed his daughter’s back. Charlie wasn’t much of a talker; everyone knew that, so he just stayed quiet. Paige sniffed and brought her knees to her chest.
“Just reliving something,” the girl answered vaguely, and Jake glanced at his imprint’s father. Charlie lifted his shoulders with a puzzled look.
“What was it?” Jacob continued, and Paige looked over to Charlie and then to Jake.
“Something that happened back home,” the werewolf whispered. The two knew Paige didn’t want to talk anymore, so they nodded and got up. They were about to walk out when Jacob stopped Charlie.
“Hey,” - Charlie looked back at the shifter - “can I . . . .”
Charlie sighed. “Fine, but no . . . . ya know,” he muttered awkwardly.
“Yeah, yeah, of course not. Thanks, Charlie,” Charlie patted Jake’s shoulder before giving him a warning look and closing the door, making sure to leave it open slightly.
Jake huffed and walked towards his imprint, who had her head down, tears spilling down into her lap. He pulled her into his chest as he sat behind her. That’s when she burst into tears. Paige wanted to remain strong, but how could she? Her father was dead.
“Can you please tell me? I hate seeing you like this,” the Black purred into her ear.
Paige gulped a lump in her throat and mumbled, “it was about my father.” Jake tensed. He never dared asked about what happened to bring her to Forks; Bella lied by saying Paige wanted to see her. Jake knew that wasn’t true because why would Paige care about her step-sister she’s never met?
But Jacob had to say something. Ask her something. “Why did you come to Forks, Paige?” he inquired after much silence. This time Paige froze, which caused a rush of panic to run through Jake.
“I- . . . . I can’t tell you. I’m sorry,” she whimpered.
“Does it have something to do with your father?” with his words, Jacob pulled Paige slightly closer, afraid that his question would hurt her.
“Kind of . . . . kind of not,” the Claymore replied. “Before my father died, I made an arrangement with the Beta of our tribe’s pack. And after my father died and the Beta became Alpha, and he ordered me to fulfill the order,” she finished, and Jake frowned; she sounded so sad and so betrayed.
“But you weren’t even phased yet,” Jake stated.
“I know, but I thought my decision would make my father happy. Plus, I had nothing back home. Besides my tribe but I didn’t see the point anymore. Once my father died, the Beta became chief too since I was too young, and a lot of my friends left Montana soon after. The Millers being some of them. But most of them already lived here in Forks,” the blonde explained. “Only Mr. Miller stayed to be with the tribe, and Maria being Maria stayed with him.”
“Wait, Ryland had another sister?” Jake cut in, and Paige nodded.
“The night my father died, she was kidnapped and later found in the woods . . . . dead,” Paige choked out, and Jacob raised his eyebrows, turning her around, so she was facing him.
“Do you know how the two died?” Jake’s interest in his imprint’s backstory was quickly growing inside him.
“When they found Maria, they saw bite marks on her neck. She was completely drained of blood,” Paige answered.
“So a vampire killed her?” Paige nodded.
“And my father . . . .” the shifter licked her lips and stuttered.
“Hey, you don’t have to tell me,” Jake said and placed a comforting hand on her knee.
“No, no, it’s fine,” she rushed out. “That night, I heard struggling coming from his bedroom and went inside to see what was wrong. And all I could see was ginger hair and white skin. And then,” - Paige snapped her fingers - “his neck was snapped.”
Jake gulped; he couldn’t imagine losing his dad like that. And having seen it too. “I’m sorry-”
Paige scoffed. “I got enough of those. I don’t need more pity,” she snapped.
“But only a day after he died, the Beta became Alpha and chief. He gave out orders to everyone, some not even shifters. His current wife tried to stand up to his foul actions, and she ended up dead in seconds. Rumors went around that the Beta was behind my father’s death, and people asked him about it,” Paige couldn’t hold back her next grimace. “And he confessed to it. He told everyone that he made a deal with a vampire that if she killed my father that he would give her a meal.”
“Maria,” Jake whispered, trying to put every piece of the puzzle together. “Do you know who the vampire was?”
“My father allied with the Cullens. He often contacted Carlisle to keep in touch because they were good friends. The Beta learned of this and told the vampire that there was a reason she would get pleasure out of killing him. She wanted revenge on the Cullens more than anyone,” Paige clarified, and Jacob’s eyes widened.
“Victoria killed your father?” He exhaled, Paige frowned.
“The Beta then ordered me here, giving me excuses like Bella and her depression and the Millers. He sent me here so I could phase. That’s the only reason I’m here,” the girl added.
“But you’re phased already . . . .”
“That means that he’ll get impatient soon and come get me,” Paige finished for him. The werewolf’s heart shattered. He couldn’t lose her. He just couldn’t. He wouldn’t.
“Then why are you still here if he wanted you back right away? I mean, based on how you described this guy, he doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would just let this go!-” Jacob panicked, and Paige shushed him gently. She placed her hands on the sides of his face and smiled softly.
“I stayed because of you, Jake. You, and Bella, and Charlie, and the Millers, even the Uley pack. You guys are my new family,” Jacob’s lips perked up slightly, and he brought their foreheads together.
“I’m not going to let him take you,” the Black claimed.
“I know. But you have to be ready for when he comes. Because Kambie’s coming, and he doesn’t leave without a fight.”

Everlasting Love
Part 1: Eternal Love
Part 2: Everlasting Love
Part 3: Endless Love
Part 4: Enduring Love
***
Y/n POV
It’s getting darker and darker by the second. It feels like it’s dropped 30 degrees in a matter of 20 minutes. I stopped hearing Snout’s barking but instead, I would see him. He looked like a ghost almost. Foggy but I could tell it’s my baby. We were playing until it started to get darker and colder. Now, I’m under this tree that I’ve run around countless times. Holding myself together to create warmth. Snout comes up to me and although he is a ghost-like figure, I can feel his warmth, feel his heart beating out of his chest. His face pressed up against my neck while I hold on.
I want to let go. I’m tired, lost, and don’t know what is going on. I kept running around this forest, but it never ends. I’m alone… if this is my death, then all I ask is for one thing.
Let my family and friends know I love them.
Paul POV
The ride home is silent. Sam says nothing and I won't attempt to start anything. I replay the conversation that we just had in Y/n room. She can change, but can’t be on La Push grounds, even if she’s resistant towards humans. Normally, I’d say “fuck this” to anything that has to do with immortality. But because my one reason for being happy at this point is on the verge of leaving, I’m willing to throw in the towel just to have her in my arms again.
We pull up to my house. Dad’s not home (shocking) so it won’t be hard to grab some stuff and leave without playing a million questions.
“I’ll be back in an hour. Or if you’re hungry, just stop by our place and we can leave from there.” I nod my head and head inside. As soon as I close the front door, I lean back on it and breathe. I let go of everything right there and attempt to hold myself together. It took me a minute, but I eventually made it to my room and started packing my stuff. As I was doing so, I was brought back to what happened earlier that day.
Before everything went downhill.
Morning of the Accident: August 24th, 2020
Dad came home late last night, again, and we started to argue that morning about the mess HE made that I was supposed to know about THE NEXT MORNING. So, like I normally do, I (unwillingly) clean up the shit he did and headed over to Y/n place in Forks. We were supposed to meet up later, but after the shitty morning my dad decided to put me through, I didn’t care too much about it.
As I pull up, Mrs. Vargas—her neighbor— and Y/n group home “mom”, Chrysanthemum (Chrys), was walking out of the house laughing to something I didn’t care to pay attention to. I step out of my truck and it grabs their attention. I can hear Chrys’s heartbeat twice as fast. Yeah…. I have that effect on people.
“Good morning ladies. Is Y/n awake? Or is the still snoring like a lion?” I smile and they chuckle a little bit.
“No, she’s awake, just being lazy,” Chrys says pointing toward the house. “Go on in, maybe then she’d get up.” She smiles.
“One can only hope. I will see you guys later.” I gave a polite smile and headed upstairs. I go through the garage entrance and wave to Kyle (group home dad) and a few of the boys nearby. I exchange a few words with them and went inside. Before I could reach the stairs, I can hear her coming down.
“PAUL!!!” She runs down, damn nearly tripping, falling into my arms. “Hi.” Is all she says, looking up at me with her cute smile that shows her small dimple on her left cheek. I can’t help but smile down at her and kiss her nose.
“Hi, troublemaker. Want to do something today until later or be lazy?”
“Can we be lazy. I love the pack, but I need to mentally prepare for what’s going to happen.” I laugh with her going up the stairs.
“What? It’s just painting.”
“Yes, but it’s you guys. Babe, I love each of you guys and hope you never change, but dear Lord…Emily, Kim, Clair, and I have to clean up after you guys like five-year-olds.” She says looking at me lazily. I smile,
“But, I’m your five-year-old.” I smile at her. She rolls her eyes and points to the bed, where we continue to have a lazy afternoon.
Current Day: August 30th, 2020
I was interrupted by my thought by knocking at my bedroom door. I turn to see my dad, surprisingly, looking at me with bloodshot eyes. I turned away, not in the mood to deal with everything. But what shocks the hell out of me is when he catches me off guard by grabbing my arm and pulling me into a hug. I stand there frozen for a few seconds before I hear him say,
“You’re not alone son. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for how I’ve treated you since your mother died. And I’m sorry for what happened to Y/n. You’re going to be okay in the end.” I didn’t realize until he finished talking that I was holding onto him too and crying with tears that I thought that had run out. You never realize what you need until it hits you full force.
After mom died, dad turned to drinking and drugs. I grew up with this hell since I was eight. And all it took was to see my pain, the same pain he experiences, to get the love from a man I used to look up to. The thoughts scared me. If I lost Y/n, would I be him? I stepped away from those thoughts as we heard the doorbell ring. Dad went to go open the door and I grabbed the last bit of my things and headed to the front of the house.
“You’re ready?” Sam asked. I just nodded my head and headed towards the truck.
“Paul!” I turn to see dad walking up to me, “Here. Take this.” He hands me a ring. “It was your mothers. She’d want you to have it.” he places it in my hand. I look up at him and he smiles at me. “Go get her…son.” Tears form in my eyes as I give one last hug to my dad and head off to the Cullen’s house to test faith with the future.
As we pull up to the Cullen’s oversized mansion—seriously? Who needs a place this big? —Sam and I sit in the car. After what just happened, after everything that just happened, I look over to Sam and ask,
“Take care of him. Make sure he gets help…and to know that I love him. Always have, always will.” Sam nodded at me and promised he would as I headed out of the truck. Before I could take a step, the little pixie leech was in front of me.
“Everything will be okay. Your father will be fine, and so will you.” She says smiling.
“How is she.” I blurt out. Not specifically at her, but at anyone who knew. The Good Doctor Cullen replied,
“She’s stable. She’s recovering perfectly after the procedure. How are you though Paul?” I shrug my shoulders. I look at all of them and I bite my tongue. I hate how I had to turn to them, but I hate that I had no other choice. Either we both stay on this earth, or we both go. Not one or the other.
“Let’s go. The faster we get there, the faster we can start the transformation. Our plane leaves in an hour.” Edward said. He hugged Bella and their kid before getting in the car. I followed and before I knew it, I was back to my memories of before I even met Y/n. Before hell broke loose. Before my mom died.
Mom and Mrs. Black went to the store for the BBQ we were having later tonight on the beach. I was with Jacob and Embry wrestling outside after our mom’s told us to not get our clothes dirty. It wasn’t even 20 minutes later after they left, did Mr. Nhavio, our next-door neighbor ran up to Billy and my dad yelling something about my mom and Mrs. Black. Without a glance at us, they took off. We all looked at them and ran after them. Embry was a little slow, and Jacob wasn’t any faster. But I was able to keep up with them.
I wish I hadn’t.
There I saw, Mrs. Black’s car, tangled with a tree and another car that was rammed into the guardrail. I looked up and saw dad and Billy run to Mrs. Black’s car but was stopped by the police. Something told me something was wrong. It wasn’t until I got a better look that I saw red spots, dripping, out of the broken window. Blood. I saw the blood. And before I knew it, I was running up to the car and screamed for my mom. I dodged everyone and made it to her. She looked up at me with a smile before her eyes closed forever. I didn’t know who grabbed me, but I fought them. I fought until I was out of their arms, but I didn’t make it that far. Eventually, I was in my father’s arms.
Later that night, everything was silent. Dad and Billy went to the hospital and Jake and I stayed with Mrs. Call. I never told Jake what I saw, no matter how much he begged, no matter how much he pleaded, I wouldn’t budge. What I saw was horrifying. Something that haunted me for years. The nightmare that consumed me. Eventually, Jake did see what I saw. He understood why I didn’t say anything. There was a silent understanding afterward. I didn’t mean to show him, I was just lost in my thoughts. Luckily, the nightmares ended, and I saw and remembered mom differently. But that only happened because of her. My Y/n cleared all the darkness and pain away weeks after getting to know her. And I couldn’t be any more grateful.
Current Day: August 30th, 2020—At the Airport; Cullen’s private jet.
At least I can say I rode a jet, a private one at that. It was weird, again, just plain weird to be anywhere around the lee-Cullens longer than 5 minutes. I figure the least I could do is call them by their name and not call them out their name. They don’t have to do this. So, the least I could do is be grateful.
“Do not fret about its Paul. We are happy to help in any way we can.” Edward said. I forgot; they have the mind reader.
“Can I get some privacy?” I tell him, attempting to control my anger. He nods his head and turns to Carlisle to discuss whatever they need to talk about. After a while the soothing motion of the plane lulls me to sleep, and it may not have been a restful one, it was at least one that I needed.

Me in Mind - Chapter 1
Carlisle x Reader
Pairing: Carlisle X Reader
Warnings: Some violence and death. Typical vampire tomfoolery. Not super informed on the Twilight timeline. The Twiline, if you will. Also, this is Esme erasure. I am so sorry.
Summary: Reader is happy to have her sister back in Forks for a while. However, it sets off a chain of events that lead to her being involved with a handsome doctor, a strange family, and a world she didn’t think existed. Why do she and Carlisle Cullen seem to be gravitating towards each other, and what does her strange talent for influencing memory have to do with any of it?
(read intro to story posted on my blog first)
Chapter 1
Despite your intentions of calling Dr. Cullen the following day, you ended up meeting him in person a few hours later. Your dad, Charlie, called you from his car sounding panicked. He was talking fast, and you managed to catch “Bella”, “school”, and “car accident”. You grabbed your keys off the table and rushed to the hospital. You told the nurse at the front desk that you were family, and she checked your ID before pointing you in the right direction.
The first thing you saw after pushing through the double doors was your dad giving Tyler a piece of his mind and Bella protesting.
“Bella!”
Both Charlie and Bella’s heads snapped up. She groaned and put her face in her hands. “Does every single person in Forks know I’m here?!”
“Are you okay- is she okay?” You turned to your dad.
“She’s fine,” Bella said, earning an eye roll from Charlie.
A man walked through the doors at the end of the hall and approached your group. Walked wasn’t really the word. He glided across the linoleum without so much as a squeak from his black sneakers. He exuded charm and grace without even opening his mouth. His dark gold eyes fell on your family. As he passed you, he gave you a sidelong glance. He seemed surprised, almost moved, before schooling his face back into a passive expression of friendliness.
“I heard Chief Swan’s daughter was here,” he said, walking to Bella’s side and began asking her questions about the accident.
Tyler began stuttering another apology before Charlie yanked the privacy curtain in front of him.
Your dad had greeted the man as Dr. Cullen. He looked young, not much older than yourself. Despite living in Forks, you hadn’t had the opportunity to meet him in the few years the Cullens had lived here. The fact that this young man was the adoptive dad of your previous classmates was bizarre.
Dr. Cullen cleared Bella to go home and said a brief goodbye to the three of you. As he passed you on his way out, he gave you another lingering stare, brow furrowed. It was strange, but you thought maybe he’d just seen you in town or something and was trying to place you.
Charlie asked you to drive Bella home. There weren’t any signs of a concussion, but neither of you wanted to take any chances. As you and Bella went to exit the hospital, you saw Rosalie, Edward, and Dr. Cullen with their heads together. They were whispering about something, but as soon as they saw you, they stopped talking.
Bella looked up at you. “Can you hang back for a minute? I want to talk to Edward.”
“Sure,” you said.
Dr. Cullen quietly asked Rosalie to wait in his office and turned his gaze to you. His smile was tight, and you wondered what they’d been talking about.
“Can I speak with you?” He asked softly, walking towards you while Edward and Bella stepped away.
He was way too good looking.
“Uh, hi.” You offered your hand. “I’m Y/N.”
He took your hand in both of his. “Yes, I know.”
“Oh.” You said lamely. His hands were freezing, but so was the hospital.
He stayed quiet, holding your hand and keeping your gaze.
“You said you wanted to talk to me?” you asked, feeling awkward.
“Ah,” he cleared his throat and let go of your hand. “Yes, sorry. You are the same Y/N Swan who knew Cynthia, correct?”
“That’s me.”
His eyes locked onto where your fingers were twirling the beaded bracelet around your wrist and smiled sympathetically.
“I’m sorry for your loss. From what she told me, you were quite close.”
“Uh,” you felt your voice get a little shaky. “Yes, I actually just found out today. I was going to call you tomorrow.”
“I didn’t realize, or I would have waited a while to ask you about it. My apologies.”
“No, no. That’s okay. One of the nurses at the home mentioned Cynthia asked you to tell me something. Would you have some time to talk in the next couple of weeks, or?”
“That’s what I wanted to ask you about. Would you be able to meet me Saturday?”
“Oh- I, yeah, I’m free Saturday.”
“Coffee?”
“I could- look, Dr. Cullen-“
“Please, call me Carlisle.” He shot back without a pause.
You felt like your head was spinning. “I really don’t want to inconvenience you. I’m fine with a phone call.”
“If you’d be more comfortable.”
Now you were confused. You didn’t know why he’d want to discuss it with you over coffee, on a weekend no less. But you did want to get coffee with him. You had to remind yourself it was just to talk about Cynthia.
“I…” you started.
He only looked at you kindly.
“We could get coffee Saturday.” You finished in a tiny voice.
“Perfect,” he said. “Text me where you’d prefer to meet. I have to go. It was lovely to meet you.”
“I- lovely too-“
You swore the expression he made was almost cheeky. He turned on his heel with the grace of a ballet dancer and walked away down the hall.
You stood there for a moment, dazed, as Bella and Edward came up behind you. Edward gave you a curious look before following Dr. Cullen down the hall.
“You still think he’s a cult leader?” Bella looked at you, eyebrows raised.
“I’m undecided.”
“What did you guys talk about.”
“Uh.” You walked out with Bella to the car. “Well, we’re getting coffee Saturday.”
“Okay, that- that’s not fair.” Bella said.
“What?”
“I almost get hit by a car, and you get a date.”
“Bella!”
She climbed into the passenger seat of your little Honda. “I’m just saying.”
“Well, it’s not a date. One of the residents from the old folks’ home passed away. Apparently, she had a message for me or something.”
Bella bit her lip and pushed her hair behind her ear. “Y/N, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize…”
“It’s alright, Bells. It was her time.” You looked over at her. “I’m just glad you’re alright. That was crazy. Edward really pushed you out of the way?”
“Well, he-“ she cut herself off, looking out the window.
“He what?”
“You’ll just think I’m crazy too.”
“You know you can tell me anything, even if it is crazy.”
She shrugged. “It’s just...” She took a moment to think about what she was going to say before turning her body towards you. “I know how this sounds, okay? It’s just, I swear he stopped the car.”
“Tyler?”
“No, Edward! He reached out and stopped the car with his hand. There was a dent and everything!” Bella said, holding her hands apart to show the size of the dent.
“Are you sure he actually touched the car? Maybe he just held his hand out as the car stopped.”
She went on like you hadn’t said anything. “And right when the car was about to hit me, he was across the parking lot. It was like he teleported.”
“There was a lot going on.”
“No, I knew you’d say that.”
You sighed. “I’m sorry. I think we both just need to take a break.”
Bella nodded, but it seemed reluctant.
“But you know what,” you said. “I’ve been saying this whole time that family was weird. So who knows.”
“You’re just saying that.”
“Cults do drugs and stuff like that.”
“Oh my gosh, shut up. Just enjoy your date with Doctor call-me-Carlisle Cullen.”
“It’s not a date, but you know what, Bells? I think I will.”
By the time Saturday rolled around, you were actually a little nervous. You’d texted Carlisle like he’d asked with the address of a coffee shop in town you knew as well as what time worked for you. All he sent back was ‘looking forward to it’ which frustratingly could be taken as both professional and flirtatious.
“It’s just to talk about Cynthia.” You muttered as you put your hair up then took it back down, unable to decide what looked better.
“Leave it down.”
You jumped and turned to see Bella leaning on your doorframe. “What?”
“You want him to think you’re pretty. Leave it down.”
You picked at your hair and outfit nervously. “It’s not like that.”
“Whatever.”
“I probably won’t even see him again.” You started to put your hair back up.
“Just go. Please. And stop that.” She smacked at your hand. “I know you like it better down.”
“Ow! I can have my hair up if I want to.”
“Just-“ She pulled your hair out of the hair tie and put it on her wrist. “Just get in your car. And give me details later.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
She sighed and toyed with a makeup brush on your desk. “You know I just want you to be happy, right?”
“Aw, Bells. I am happy. I get to see you and dad every day, and I’m saving up for college.”
“I know, I just don’t want you to be trapped in Forks forever.”
“I won’t be. And neither will you. Besides. Let’s just enjoy it while we can.”
It was almost 2PM when you pulled up to the café. It was a hole in the wall place in Forks’ meager downtown area among book shops and thrift stores. You’d been visiting there since high school, ever since Charlie bought you your first car.
You walked in the door and the little bell jingled. The owner, Mary, looked up and smiled at you, jerking her head towards the couple of couches at the back of the shop. There was Carlisle, draped over a plush sofa like an alarmingly lifelike H&M mannequin. He already had a coffee in a takeaway cup with a lid.
He saw you walk over and stood to greet you, clasping your hand in his. You noticed once again that his hands were freezing. It made sense in the chilly hospital, but the café was warm, a little too warm even, and the contrast struck you as odd.
“What can I get you?” He asked, heading towards the counter.
“Oh, no, no, you don’t have to do that.” You said quickly. This was just making things more confusing.
“Please, allow me. It’s the least I can do for asking you to meet me on a weekend.”
So now he was back to friendly professional.
“I guess, um…”
He just kept looking at you with that interested smile.
You gave in and told him your coffee order, and when you turned to walk back to the sofa, he offered you his arm. You took it awkwardly, certain that your face was bright red.
“What did you get?” you asked after sitting.
“Cappuccino.”
“Ah.”
He smiled. “I’m sure you’re wondering what Cynthia had to say to you. Again, I know this must be difficult. She was your friend.”
“It’s alright,” you said.
He regarded you kindly.
You brushed some hair behind your ear. “Well, I guess it isn’t. But I know it was just her time.”
He nodded. “Well, essentially, what she wanted to relay was her gratitude. She told me that you made her time there easier. I understand she was losing her memory, having difficulty remembering family members, friends, details from her own life.”
“Yeah. It never seemed like that to me though. She was always telling me stories about her kids and about when she was younger. Or just things that had happened the week before.”
Mary called your name from the counter. You moved to get up, but Carlisle beat you to it, urging you to sit. He came back, pressing the warm mug to your hands.
He continued on with his thought. “She mentioned that when you were around, she remembered things better. That was rather interesting to me.”
“I think she just liked the company. Having someone to talk to seems to make the residents a little brighter.”
“Maybe.” He said, raising his cup to his lips. “I’m sure they appreciate your time.”
“I think so. I enjoy spending time with them.”
He placed his cup down. “I’ll admit, I’m surprised we’ve never met. Although I suppose I’m glad.”
You looked up from your coffee in alarm.
“It just means you haven’t had much call to go to the hospital.” He had that cheeky smile again.
“Ah,” you laughed, “That’s true. I actually went to school with your kids. I was a year ahead most of them.”
“Oh really?”
“Mhm.” You didn’t really think there was a tactful way to ask why a man who looked 23 had teenagers. He seemed to catch your meaning.
“It’s an odd situation, I’ll give you that.”
You averted your eyes in embarrassment, but his easy chuckle told you he didn’t take offence.
“They needed someone. We’re a strange but happy family.”
“Or you’re Batman.”
He laughed loudly at that, flashing his perfect teeth and tilting his head back. “I can’t tell if you’re joking, but I am not Batman. We are, for all intents and purposes, normal.” He took a long drink from his coffee.
“Might I risk being forward by asking you a personal question?” He said.
“Shoot.”
“Are you currently seeing anyone?”
Your eyes widened. “I’m not- No. Not currently.”
His smile widened. “Would you mind if I gave you a call later to see if we could possibly meet again?”
“That-“ you tried to hide your smile by tilting your head down and looking away. You could feel your heart working overtime.
“Yeah, I think that would be nice.” You said.
“You do?”
“Yes. I’d like that.”
“Perfect.” His cold hand came to rest on your warm one gripping your mug. “I’ll call you. Or if you can’t wait, you can call me.”
“Dr. Cullen.” You laughed.
“I think it’s safe for you to call me Carlisle.”
“Carlisle.”
“Thank you.” He grinned at you. “I’ve enjoyed this. Unfortunately, I do need to be going. Please, enjoy your coffee. I look forward to seeing you again.”
“Me too. Thanks for the caffeine.” You said, raising your mug.
“Of course.”
He picked up his coat he’d draped over the back of the couch, the sound of the bell and Mary yelling goodbye ushering him out.
It wasn’t until you’d collected your wits that you realized he’d left his coffee cup. When you were ready to go, you picked it up to throw it away and were surprised to find it oddly full despite the fact that he’d been drinking from it the whole time.
You hesitated. He was just a regular guy, right? You weren’t going to make this weird. You contemplated it for a minute but were unable to stave off your curiosity. You popped the white lid off the top. The cup was still brimming with coffee. Was he really just pretending to drink the it? Maybe he hadn’t liked it? You shook your head. It was weird, but it was hardly something malicious. Oh well. It was something to think about. You threw out the two cups before heading home. Bella would be very interested to hear how your coffee meeting went.
