Warnings: Arguing, blood mention,death mention, sexual references but it’s not smut or anywhere close, they do choke him but it’s in the proper way not in the violent way, Hook cuts the reader (accidentally), swearing, jealousy that leads into a touch of possessive behavior, reader has cat king-esque magic again because it's so fun for me, reader is taller than Hook (imagine not being taller than 5’5, couldn’t be me -they say standing at 5’6), this is so toxic idk what possessed me, Hook likes being choked ig (I literally don’t know what possessed me), I don’t think this is a dead dove do not eat situation but just in case it is here.

His hook glides gently through a girl’s hair, the boy smirking at her as it does, “Well Lass, I’m sure you can understand why dear Uli would be mad about such a thing, can’t you?” She giggles, eyes batting up at him as if she didn’t know he was taken. Everyone knew about Hook and (Y/n), she had to know he just wanted to get his way, didn’t she? “Well, I guess I can. What do you think she’s willing to trade me for her to get it back?” Hook laughs, crossing his arms over his chest as he raises an eyebrow, “Now Lass, I don’t see any world where Uliana trades you anything to get her bottle of Kraken Powder. You took something from her, and now she wants it back. There’s no chance of getting a ransom on it.” Something flickers across her face, rising from her seat as she dangles the bottle between her fingers, “Oh come on Captain, I’m sure we can work something out.” His face never falters and if it didn’t have (Y/n)’s blood boiling they would almost find it admirable. James would make a great spy, or poker player. The boy had amazing control of his facial features. “I don’t think I’m in the position to take ransoms on someone else’s behalf. How about you give me that bottle and I let you leave without any of my friends leaving their little hiding spots, huh?”

This girl seems to take that as more of a challenge, snatching the container just out of the pirate’s reach as he goes for it. “How about you give me a kiss and I’ll give it back?” That has (Y/n) leaving their hiding spot just past the side of the courtyard wall, strolling across the grass. Who does she think she is? Talking to their boyfriend like that. “Like I said Lass, I’m not in the place to be taking ransoms.” She nearly whines, reaching out to play with the chain around his neck, “Oh come on, it’s not like I’m asking for much, just one little kiss. No one would have to know.” (Y/n) makes their way behind James as she says it, the shock of their appearance being just enough to make her drop the little bottle. He quickly reaches out and barely catches it, sliding the Kraken Powder into his coat pocket as a hand slinks around his shoulder from behind.

“What was that, sweetheart? I didn’t quite catch it,” the grin on (Y/n)’s face as they say it is just barely holding back their aggression. She seems to know it too, shaking her head and backing away from the couple. Nearly running away, as if she was scared that the villain would just kill her then and there. Maybe they would, at least give her the prick of a thousand thorns. Though, walking the plank seems like it would do her more justice. Since she wants to play with pirates and all. “Yeah, what the fuck was that?” Their next words come as a growl in James’ ear, hand still planted harshly on his shoulder. “Just doing my job, Love.” “Oh yeah? And how far were you going to let her go to get your job done?” He sighs, drawing a hand up to his face to pinch the bridge of his nose, “Can we please not start something like this here? We’re in the courtyard, anyone could overhear.” With a snap, the two of them are standing in (Y/n)’s dorm, a playful smirk that barely hides their anger playing across their lips. “Okay, let’s do it here then, nice and private.” He knew that look in their eyes, anger that was thinly blanketed over insecurity. Uliana held it too; he even held it. But that doesn’t mean it looked good on his partner, especially when that look was aimed at him.

“Darling, you know I love you. I’d never let anything jeopardize that.” James is shaking their rough grip off his shoulder as he speaks. Had they ever touched him that aggressively? It’s not like this was that big a deal, he flirted to get his way all the time, there was no difference here, was there? Sure, he guesses they normally didn’t flirt right back but it’s not like he had any real interest in the girl. His heart sang for (Y/n), surely they knew that. “Okay,” and they laugh. This sick, twisted sound that should carry joy but was instead weighted to the ground with fury. “Then again, Hook, I’ll ask you: what the fuck was that?” Their lips are dripping venom, tone harsher than anything he’s ever heard come from them. And for what? Him doing what Uliana asked? Morgie would have done the same thing. It doesn’t make him a bad boyfriend, just a good villain.

“It was a job. I had it handled, the Kraken powder is back in the hands of villains and I am standing here notably unkissed. So let me ask you now, why does it matter?” His arms cross over his chest, glaring up at them with raised eyebrows. They would almost find the little attitude he took back against them charming, but Hook had used enough of his charm today. “Why does it matter?” Their brows raise too, another fiery and twisted laugh slipping off their tongue. “Yeah, why does it matter? It was just some harmless flirting. The job got done, that should be the fucking end of it.” (Y/n) scoffs, walking towards him with this look in their eye that had him backing up. That wasn’t insecurity anymore, he’d stepped on an exposed wire, struck a nerve that was never his to touch. He was in for it now, and maybe he deserved to be. Maybe it was a big deal.

“It matters because you’re mine, Hook. You are mine.” The last sentence comes out as if they were punctuating every word, eyes squinting as they put their arms out on either side of him. His back hits the wall, the face that normally looks at him in adoration towering over him in a rage, pinning him so he can’t get away from them. “I am,” he breathes, staring up at them as his heart pounds, “I am yours. I know that.” They dip down, nearly touching their nose to his. “Then why,” their voice is this sultry and slow hiss of a thing. Hook would find it extremely hot if it wasn’t directed at him. Incorrectly if you asked him, Hook was just doing a job, why couldn’t his partner get that? “Why were you letting that bitch put her hands all over what’s mine? Playing with your chain, were you gonna let her put her hands around your throat too? Huh, let her choke you while you kissed her?” A hand finds its way around his neck, gently squeezing it upwards, and James finds himself suddenly weak in the knees. It was hot, unbelievably mind-meltingly hot, how was he supposed to do anything with their hands on him and their lips this close? God he was so notably unkissed, how would they react if he just leaned up? He shakes his head, nearly whining as he stares up at them, “No. I wasn’t going to let her kiss me. I don’t want anyone’s lips but yours, Love.” “Liar.”

It makes his chest hurt, erupting this sense of fire through him as if they’d stabbed him and twisted the knife. James Hook was a lot of things. A villain, a pirate, a thief, a flirt, a boyfriend. But not once had he been a liar, not to them and not to his friends. He took pride on that fact, and by the gods above they knew that. How dare they? Suddenly this whole situation was significantly less hot. “You do not get to call me that. You know damn well I am not a liar.” His tone is just as fiery as theirs now, bucking up to them with a snarl on his lips. Now it was a real fight, they can work with that. “Yeah, Hook?” They back up, giving him space to fire back, he was just like the cannons on his ship and they had proudly lit the fuse. “Then why are you lying to me? We all know how badly you want to go back to it.” “Back to what? Some bitch who stole from us? I don’t even know her fucking name, (Y/n)!” He’s approaching them now, backing them up in the same way they’d done to him. And the villain is letting him, some odd sense of enjoyment on their face. Misery loves company, right? “No, the life of a flirt. Not that you ever left it, sure you might keep your hands to yourself but you still undress everyone you see with those big puppy dog eyes. I’m not an idiot.”

“Oh what, so I’m some big whore? I want you, if I didn’t I would have walked out of this room by now.” Their eyes flutter closed and that same sickening laugh slips from their lips, “Oh right, because that’s so easy to believe when you’re out here teasing anyone who looks at you. You love getting someone ready to drop to their knees, don’t play coy with me.” “God, it’s not real. The only real flirting I have ever done was to get you. I don’t want anyone ‘falling to their knees’ for me or whatever else you wanna call it. I want you, anything else is just an act. I only do it to make Uliana happy, I could care less for it.” “Yeah,” they scoff turning away from him, “Likely story, Hook.” They turn away from him, it didn’t matter if it was their room. They needed to leave, to go breathe. Find some air that wasn’t weighed down with the weight of this.

As they turn, he realizes what they’re doing. They were going to walk out on him again, to just leave and pretend nothing happened like they always do. Not this time, they do not get to just leave things open ended this time. He doesn’t think about it as his hooked hand shoots out, going to wrap the metal around a tender bicep like he had a million times before. But it’s different this time, this time (Y/n)’s arm moves. Flying up in the air as their mouth drops back open to say something else. He feels the tip of the metal dig into something, the sensation making his stomach churn. But instead of whatever it was they were going to say a whimper flies out instead. Arm jerking away from the sharpened edge of his hook, the golden metal coming back with a sickly scarlet sheen. They turn to him, eyes wide and jaw slack. Hook had done a lot of things, but he had never hurt them, not without them asking for it directly. What had he done? Oh, what had he done?

“I,” he starts but the words fall flat in his tongue. Eyes flickering over welled up tears and fear that was directed at him. “Love, I, fuck! I didn’t mean to.” They look down, blood dripping in a single thin stream down their arm. He cut them, actually sunk his hook into their flesh. Maybe he was right to be so scared of holding them with it, maybe they shouldn’t have told him they liked it. If they knew it would end up cutting them, maybe they wouldn’t have. “You didn’t mean to?” “No, God no. I was trying to grab you and I didn’t think you’d move. I just didn’t want you to leave me.” He’s pale as a ghost, staring wide eyed at the blood dripping down his lover’s arm. “God, Love, I didn’t mean to.” They take a deep breath and then, instead of tears or anger, they laugh. This musical relieved sort of sound that didn’t match anything he’d heard all day. Closer to their real laugh that he’d heard in so long, smiling and wiping tears with their good arm as their shoulders shake. Blood drips from their fingertips to the floor and they don’t seem to care. The splattered maroon dots on the hard wood would be a different time’s problem. The villain was too busy shaking with laughter to care about them.

“Darling?” “Give me,” they wheeze, trying to draw more air in, “Give me just a minute. I need to, god damn, I need to center my thoughts.” He nods, stepping towards them in this slow cautious way. As if he was a predator trying not to startle away his prey. Maybe he was, he had struck them like one. Even if it wasn’t intentional. Bloodshed was bloodshed, the intention didn’t matter. Oh god, the thought hits him like a ton of bricks to the chest. The intention didn’t matter. Their hand slides up to the cut, holding it until a purple shine seems to encapsulate both their hand and arm. When they pull away, they lift it up, letting him see that all that’s left is a thin scar. It was a short little thing, he’d barely snagged them. They were fine, the scar probably wouldn’t be noticeable to anyone else. Good, that made the harsh pattering in his chest slow down as he looks at them. “Darling, I am so sorry.” They shrug, walking over to wrap their arms around his waist and draw him closer, “I’m all better.” “I am so incredibly sorry,” as if he’s a record stuck on a catch. Staring up at them with those big doe eyes filled with nothing but fear. Ego thrown to the side as he stares up at them. “I’m okay, baby. You didn’t mean it, you’re not one to lie to me. If you say that you didn’t mean it, then you didn’t mean it.”

He nods, leaning against their chest, “I’m sorry about the flirting too. I didn’t think you were bothered by it. I’ll uh,” he lets out a slow, shuttering breath, “I’ll talk to Uli. Tell her I can’t do it anymore.” “No it’s okay, James, it’s okay,” they stroke his hair softly as they speak, the boy’s body relaxing as they say his name. “It’s not okay, it bothers you. I already hurt you over it, that can’t happen again.” “And it won’t, I know you James, it won’t. I’m sorry for not trusting you.” He shrugs the motion only noticeable from the way he moves against them, “It’s okay.” “It’s not,” they pull away, softly grabbing his chin to make him look up at them, “It is most certainly not okay. I had my hands on you, I, god I had my hands on you. James, I am so sorry.” They drop him, stepping away from him like he’d just combust into flames. “It’s okay, I’m okay. Until you pissed me off it was kinda hot.” They shake their head, backing away from him until their back hits the door. “It was not hot, you could have been hurt. My hand was on your neck, what is wrong with me?” He follows them this time, hand reaching out for one of theirs, “Love, I am okay, it was kinda hot. Honestly, I think you should pin me against a wall with my throat in your hand more. Very villainous, very hot.” Despite his gentleness there’s a tone dripping off the pirate’s words that’s impossible to ignore. “Oh, of course, why wouldn’t you be into that?” And he’s laughing, reaching up for their jaw, “Now kiss me and let’s make up, huh, Darling?” They laugh, leaning down to his lips, they did like the sound of that.

this is a band au for the marauders era BUT the original marauders are not the band. let me explain.

Band: Sirius, Peter, Marlene, Dorcas (no band name yet so shoot your shot if you want to)

the marauders era characters have a LOT of different roles here. Regulus and Pandora are dancers, Mary and Peter grew up together & met Remus in highschool in America and did music but now Mary and Remus are somewhat duo singers. (i made Remus southern you'll get why in the fic) Alice is kind of an enigma but we'll get to know her. I'll show you all her colours i promise. Evan manages Mary and Remus and has such a goofy big brother personality. MINERVA the queen that she is, is basically the band's mother/manager. fluffy black brothers!! oh, and andromeda is dead.

i know what you're thinking "where the fuck is james?? lily?? barty??" hehe WELL you're not gonna like this. lily is the villain here and not in a good way. it was a VERY toxic marylily and lily is the Casual girl (chappell roan) ANYWAAAY you're gonna see a LOT of that BUT she does have her redemption arc. i think. maybe.

barty broke up with sirius 2 months before the beginning of the fic (which starts on their american tour at the last couple concerts) they grew up together, its very bittersweet, might give you heartburn. AGAIN redemption arc, they do have a heart-to-heart.

and uhh james is a very happy very sudden very scandalous surprise

ch. 1

this fic in short is the band through their last leg of the american tour when mary flies out early and sirius asks her to join them for the rest of the tour and the european tour in a couple months. mary and sirius hold each other up through harsh breakups and slowly find new love. the marauders era do a lot of dumb shit make a lot of memories. exes come back and get dragged out, maybe-soulmates enter their lives and life happens all at once. but theyre still just kids and they have a lot of laughs

don't worry guys, every couple shall get their minute of fame

basically the journey (and reflective of a couple of characters) of their life together. they find love, they find FRIENDSHIP, they find beauty in the little things, they find laughter and peace and passion. this entire fic for me was to discover all the little things, the day to day things that makes life what it is: beautiful. it's filled with jokes and family and bittersweet memories. its those moments you want to remember when you're old in your rocking chair or young on a porch swing. its all the little bright places.

Hi.... If you don't mind me asking, can I ask, what are your top 7 favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series) and your top 7 favorite ships (can be canon or non canon) from any media ? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this questions before......

omg i've been wanting to answer a question like this for such a long time, thank you so much for asking! (you can always ask me about anything <3)

it's hard to talk about why i love these without giving a few spoilers, so i hope you don't mind that.

1. Jujutsu Kaisen & Sukuita

I first got into JJK because of Sukuna edits, but I started reading it more seriously when I fell in love with Yuuji (one of the best protagonists ever!) and got really invested in more of the other characters (Nobara, Mai and Maki, Nanami, Shoko, Yuki, Hiromi, and Uraume being my favorites <3) as the story went on.

Although I'm generally not interested in a lot of action manga, I fell hard for JJK because there were just so many good things about it. An anime protagonist that actually cares about saving other people but is still kind of unhinged and comparatively weaker than a lot of his peers? Bodily possession and an ancient god of chaos obsessed with the unworthy brat he's trapped inside of?? Scary monsters and scarier humans who fight them off???

But if I'm being really honest, my main reason for loving JJK is almost completely Sukuita.

These two are my #1 otp and I'm rabidly obsessed with them (almost as much as they're obsessed with each other). I could go on forever about why I adore this ship, but to keep it simple, it's really because they're one of the most dynamic and overlooked protagonist/antagonist relationships I've ever seen.

As a ship, they really have it all: enemies to lovers, hero x villain, bound by fate, bodily possession, virtually soulmates, matching each other's freak, yin and yang, toxic divorced couple/possessive exes energy, incest (if you're into that), and even opposites attract.

I see them as an inseparable matched set that share basically the same soul and see through each other but they'll never fully understand or accept each other, and it's beautifully heartbreaking in every way.

I first started shipping them when I read a lot of different ship fics with Sukuna, but the only one I ever really got invested in was Sukuita. My favorite ship trope of all is enemies to lovers, so I couldn't really resist them, and overtime I just fell deeper and deeper. Now I personally can't ship them with anyone but each other, but there are still so many more amazing ships to be found in this fandom, though a lot of my JJK otps (Nobamai, Makimai, Nanahito, and Gojoken) aren't very popular.

2. BNHA & Togachako

I'm not going to lie... I'm really not very invested in BNHA as a series, but I'm totally devoted to some of the characters, mainly Himiko Toga. I love kawaii yandere villains so much, and Toga is my favorite autistic bi disaster girl. I also love Dabi (one of my very first anime crushes), Ochaco, Bakugo, Deku, Shoto, Mirko, Eri, Overhaul, Mina Ashido, Kuin Hachisuka, Beros, and Twice.

Some of the quirks are really cool so I always love when they explore the different kinds both heroes and villains can have, and I love all the amazing fight scenes where heroes and villains get to go all out using their quirks, but my #1 reason for watching BNHA is for these two.

My top otp in BNHA is Togachako, of course, because I adore doomed yuri, especially the hero x villain kind, and I will never stop crying over how these two deserved so much better.

I shipped them almost as soon as they first interacted. The chemistry between them was beautiful and I love how Toga went all out with her yandere-style flirting with Ochaco, saying she had the same scent as her, that she wanted to be like her, from the very start understanding so much of Ochaco's character, her need to be heroic and save as many lives as she could, like Deku wanted to. Toga sees a lot of similarities between Ochaco and herself, and I love a villain that obsessively connects to the hero they're always at odds with.

I especially went crazy during that scene from season 6 where Toga had Ochaco pinned down and started crying out "What are you going to do to me? Are you going to kill me, too?" There was so much feeling and pain inside of that scene, Toga coming to terms with how heroes kill villains (like they did to Twice) even though they're human too, and knowing she could be next.

Yet later on we see how Ochaco accepted Toga despite all the things Toga had done. Because she understands that Toga is more than just another monster. All her childhood, Toga had been forced to suppress her own nature, but there Ochaco is... loving her not even despite it, but because she finds Toga herself, as the person she is, the cutest girl in the world. Just what Toga always wanted to be to someone, loved for her real self.

That just... really got to me.

My second main BNHA ship is Toyasho, or Dabisho.

They hit all the good tropes: hero x villain, twisted family, reconnecting, and lots and lots of angst. It fascinated me how they went on two different paths after experiencing abuse from their father: Dabi craving vengeance and resenting the world around him while Shoto largely isolated himself from others and tried to be indifferent about things. Dabi indulged in being ruthless, depraved, and even sadistic while Shoto tried to be "frozen" both inside and outside, yet he was learning to slowly open up to others and have hope for forgiveness.

They share a lot in common - being arrogant, getting overly emotional, wanting to do things alone, their way. But overall they have two different perspectives and Shoto considers Dabi to be his "cross to bear" since Dabi is his brother.

They still try to reconnect with each other in their own ways, especially at the end, where Dabi does regret a lot of what he did to Shoto and Shoto forgives him by asking what his favorite food is.

Togachako and Dabisho are my main otps for this fandom, but I also really like Shigadeku, Bakudeku, Meilissa, Saimomo, Togatsuyu, Momokendo, and Miruhawks because they have amazing chemistry as well!

3. The Locked Tomb & Griddlehark + Harryanthe

I first read Gideon the Ninth about a year ago and fell in love with it. The series reminds me of those weird sci-fi fantasy paperbacks that I would find packing the shelves of thrift stores and old book stores, but even better because of all the toxic lesbian angst and unhinged necromantic freaks who are the most unreliable narrators.

I like the writing style, the worldbuilding, the scientific feel to all the different necromantic theorems, the House politics, the beautifully complex characters, and the strange humor.

I love Griddlehark for all the angst, the enemies to lovers, the sad "you're the only friend I ever had so don't forget me, I'll even sacrifice my own life for you" from Gideon's side and the desperate "don't leave me, I'll erase all my memories of you because I can't bear to let you die" from Harrow's side. When we're first introduced to Harrow, from Gideon's POV, we think she's a heartless monster only concerned with herself. But soon we learn Harrow is weighed down heavily by her burden to handle all Ninth House affairs largely on her own and also by the nature of her very birth. Harrow has a deeply romantic and tragic side that Gideon is the first to discover, proving all her previous assumptions about Harrow wrong, and Gideon also proves herself to be more loyal, dedicated, and caring than Harrow thought she was. And even though they started out hating each other, they become each other's first true friends and can never let go of each other.

I also adore Ianthe's (mostly) one-sided obsession with Harrow, the way she acts like she just wants to manipulate Harrow and break her heart but unintentionally caught feelings for her along the way. They can't stand each other but they're forced to rely on one another and it's perfect, especially when Harrow (reluctantly) starts to feel somewhat close to Ianthe overtime. They're opposites in many ways, but they are both driven by their overwhelming sense of ambition and by their deep love/obsession for the people closest to their hearts (Harrow for Gideon and Ianthe for Coronabeth).

Harrow is my favorite, and I love her dynamic with both Gideon and Ianthe, so I can't choose between either ship. They're my ot3 really, since I also enjoy Gideon/Kiriona's interactions with Ianthe and how they sort of warm up to each other because of how they first "connect" over Harrow.

I have a lot more ships in this series too, namely Alectostasia, Pyrrha x Wake, Jarpedon, Augustine/Mercymorn/God, John x Alecto, Halecto, Corona x Judith, and Corona x Ianthe.

4 . The Summer Hikaru Died & Yoshikaru

I am a BIG fan of eldritch monsters developing codependent and destructive relationships with the mortals they become fascinated by, and this manga delivered that amazingly.

I've been following this story obsessively for about a few months but it's quickly becoming one of my most favorite manga ever. The dynamic between "Hikaru" and Yoshiki is perfect — the way Yoshiki can't really reject "Hikaru" because he craves the closeness he used to have with his friend but overtime he starts caring deeply for whatever "Hikaru" actually is.... Everything about them is so beautiful and tragic, it hurts physically but I love it.

The art is gorgeous and fits wonderfully with the summery horror atmosphere, and I like that's it set in the rural country, since I don't see as much of that in manga or anime as I would like to.

It has some elements of mystery, some of horror, lots of the paranormal, and plenty of chemistry between the mcs, all of which makes it so interesting and unique.

Yoshikaru is my main otp but I also love Asako/Yuuki, because they're so cute together.

5. Alien Stage & Mizisua

This series ruins me. The music, the story, the emotion. All of it makes me feel way too much.

The character designs for the humans are so good but I particularly like the aliens because I want to know more about their cultures and how they ended up imprisoning humanity.

One of the most central themes of this story is longing: the longing for freedom, the longing for love and friendship, the longing for something to put all your faith in even during the darkest times. And for Mizi and Sua, they put all that longing, that faith and hope, into each other.

Despite the fact that they know only one of them can survive that first round, they still sing almost every verse together because they refuse to give the other one the edge. They want each other to survive, even if it comes at the loss of their own life, but they were also hopeful that both of them could have tied. But Sua understood that this was unlikely and she chose to sacrifice herself to keep Mizi alive.

During the song Mizi narrates how humanity has forgotten gods and religion, but Mizi still believes in something that transcends all her suffering and longing, and that is Sua — her god, her universe. Even in the final moments of their round, as their fates are being sealed, Mizi looks over to Sua and smiles at her, because despite everything she's still happy to be with Sua, to sing with her and not against her, to find comfort even at the end. But she's still shocked and horrified when Sua dies, especially because of the fact Sua died to protect her.

And Mizi was never able to get over Sua's death. It's why she lost composure during her round with Luka, who relentlessly used her undying feelings for Sua against her by singing far too romantically.

Mizisua is my main otp in this fandom but I also love Ivantill, Hyuluka, and Hyunamizi.

6. Kakegurui & Yumedari

Even though it's arguably not as intelligent or coherent in its matches as I first thought it would be, I love pretty much everything else about this series, both the live action and the anime. The craziness, the color schemes, the focus on exaggerated body movements, even how thrilling the gambling scenes can be. Not to mention so many amazing characters and shipping possibilities, and my personal favorite ship of this series is Yumeko and Midari.

They get a lot of hate for being a toxic ship, which they are, but what exactly in Kakegurui is safe or sane in any way?? These two have such an interesting and compelling dynamic and from the start Midari is impressed and obsessed with Yumeko. And despite Yumeko's intolerance for Midari, they have a lot in common.

They're both compulsive gamblers who don't care about winning money or social status when they play. They're both addicted to the thrill, really skilled, impulsive, and quite smart too.

What made me start shipping them was, of course, their match during episode 7. The way Yumeko so expertly predicts Midari's moves to prevent an outcome where either of them are actually shot, how Midari comes to understand more of who Yumeko is through their game, the fact that Yumeko knew that Midari wanted her to win and was angry enough about it to deny the other girl that outcome. Yumeko despises cheating to "win" instead of fully indulging in the thrill of the uncertainty, which is what she lives for, and if Midari had maybe not resorted to cheating, I think Yumeko would have more respect and even enjoyment for playing with Midari.

What also really interests me is how polar Yumeko's actions are with Midari. She screams that she hates Midari, she finds her pathetic, she can't stand to be around her. Yet she has this almost soft moment with Midari before they begin playing, if only to keep the other girl from harming Ryota.

Yumeko also grows more tolerant of Midari as the show goes on, but it's by no means warm or loving in any way. And I think that's what I like about them. They're so alike but will never fully "fit together" because of it. It will always end up with either Midari wanting Yumeko to be the one to cause her pain or death, while Yumeko hates any kind of predictable outcome or rigging of the game.

I also have a lot of other ships in this fandom, mainly Yumary, Kirisaya, Meariri, Ayadari, Riridari, Naodari, Ririsaya, and Yumemika.

7. Monster & Tenjoh

I don't even know where to start on this one, really.

I've known about the existence of this series for a while and even tried to start it, but all I could could get into initially was edits of Johan Liebert. I kept meaning to pick it up eventually, since I'd heard that it was one of the most popular seinen manga and that Johan was also one of the best manga/anime villains.

But only recently I have I started watching this series, and I don't know why I didn't sooner.

I cannot describe everything I love about this series without writing a whole other post, but to put it simply - it's extremely well-done and very thought-provoking. And as someone deeply interested in psychology and criminology, I found this to be a brilliant exploration of both. The characters are so well-developed, especially the twins and Tenma (who is honestly one of the most underrated protagonists I have seen) and though I was first off-put by the older animation style, I have actually come to like it a lot since it's very unique and suits the setting and atmosphere perfectly.

There are so many different layers and themes that I will never tire of trying to analyze them all, and there's especially a certain thrill to watching how all the pieces of the puzzle connect together, especially when we get an understanding of how Johan perfectly manipulates others so that they essentially follow the designs of their own downfall.

But one of the very few people to resist Johan's plots and to even come close to destroying him is Tenma.

Tenjoh is so fascinating, both as a ship and only as their canon interaction, because of how deeply personal and complex their relationship is.

Tenma saved Johan's life years ago, a choice that essentially ended his career for him and led to his life being significantly altered. When Johan returns, revealing himself to be the person responsible for so many deaths, Tenma feels guilty for "creating" the monster that Johan became. However, even though Johan kills everyone who knows about him, he spares Tenma as both a sign of respect for the doctor saving his life and because he wants to drive Tenma to kill him, therefore proving Tenma's ideals that every life has value wrong.

Not only is there something darkly poetic in Johan wanting the doctor who brought him back from the brink of death to be the one to kill him, it's also just as suiting that Tenma at first wants to be the one to kill Johan, feeling it was his burden to end the monster he'd "revived." But despite many opportunities given to him, even by Johan himself, to kill the evil mastermind, Tenma still couldn't do it.

I have so many thoughts on them and would love to write a meta about it someday, but all I can really say for now is they're quickly becoming one of my top ships ever.

7. Bubbamiah (Bubba x Jeremiah, Inside the Mysterious Cube (Shoot from the Hip), canon)

They have such a wholesome relationship. They’re gay farmers (funny that SFTH has done that twice) from the southern US, and they’re just so genuinely happy together. Also their story is so gorgeous? I love that they fight side by side—Bubba got cube legs just to follow Jeremiah onto the battlefield, and I assume that was something he hadn’t really wanted to do (because he’d have done it sooner if he wanted to). But he did it anyway so that Jeremiah wouldn’t be alone. And then Jeremiah dies (in what is genuinely one of the most beautiful death scenes I’ve ever witnessed), and Bubba’s response is to get revenge, because he knows that’s what Jeremiah would want. And then Jeremiah comes back, and I’m so glad he does, because they deserve to go back to living their comfortable, peaceful lives on the farm.

6. Ditch (Derek x Titch, the Unrelenting Aubergine (Shoot from the Hip), canon)

Oh, look, the other gay farmers from a SFTH play. Who would have guessed? Okay, but seriously, these two are so fucking adorable. Derek is so helplessly in love. Honestly, despite the clear sexual intent of the title, they are so wholesome. Also: Titch, my beloved. He’s so scared of his own feelings, and Derek is perfect for him, too, because he knows when to give Titch space and when to push him to make a decision. They just have such a beautiful story.

5. Hornchurch (Andrews x Betruvia, the Phantom of Hornchurch (Shoot from the Hip), headcanon)

Look. Look. They have everything I look for in a couple. They remind me so much of Evervale, so it’s honestly no surprise I gravitated toward them. The thing is, no matter how much I love more wholesome ships, tragic and toxic ships have always been and will always be my favourite. And they definitely fall insert both categories. They’ve spent millennia reincarnating just to fight each other, and that, if you ask me, is very gay.

4. Esmerelda x the vampire slayer (the thirsty vampires sketch (Shoot from the Hip), canon)

Honestly I’m not even sure I can talk about them because I just want to scream. They had so much fucking chemistry, for a start, and I loved their characters individually. But together? I just. I just. Also, the fucking ending… I loved it before. But the ending just solidified it. Because, as previously stated, I love tragic or toxic ships. And so here we are. (Also is there a ship name for them? Because I need one.)

3. Castlelair (Alastair Lowe x Gavin Grieve, All of Us Villains and All of Our Demise by Amanda Foody and C. L. Herman, canon)

Okay so. So. Um. I’m unsure of how to express my love for them, because holy shit. This is enemies to lovers done right. I remember reading the first book and thinking that they had chemistry, but I didn’t think anything would come of it, because Alastair was with Isobel. And then I read the second book, and I screamed. They’re so perfect? I have so many annotations just screaming incoherently about them (honestly calling them annotations is a bit of a stretch). I love how they’re opposites of each other from the beginning, and yet so fucking similar deep down. Also, I love how obsessed Gavin was with him from the beginning, especially when compared to the fact that Alastair literally never bothered to learn his name at the beginning. Also (and this is probably bad), I love it when my ships torture someone else together. I don’t know what it is, but something about it compels me like nothing else (again, in FICTION). So that is quite the bonus for them. I could genuinely write a whole wall of text about them (albeit not a very coherent one), but I’ll leave it for now.

2. Evervale (Eli Ever x Victor Vale, Vicious and Vengeful by V. E. Schwab, headcanon)

Evervale is kind of what I look for when I’m looking for ships. They have so much history, which is probably the thing I love the most in ships. I wrote two posts a bit ago about all of the things I love about them, so I think this bit will probably just be a shorter version of that, but here goes. They are the only people who have ever understood each other, and they are the only people who ever will. They mean so much to each other, even ten years after everything went down. And even though they hate each other, they still care so much about what the other one thinks. They’re so fundamentally similar but different in such key ways, and I love them so much, and I think I’m going to cut myself off here, because I already did two posts about this.

1. Merthur (Arthur Pendragon x Merlin, BBC Merlin, headcanon)

It was never going to be anyone else. They’re a classic, and there’s a reason for that. The tragedy of it is a big part of what draws me to it—Merlin is left wandering the world, alone, forever, without his other half. But there’s also—and I think I made a post about this, too—the element of unbalanced dedication. Merlin loves Arthur so deeply that he rewrites his entire moral code, crosses all of his lines (“Who says my destiny has to include murder?”), literally gives his entire life trying to keep Arthur safe. And Arthur has no idea. And that, more than anything else, is the thing that makes this ship for me. (I told you I liked the darker relationship dynamics.) Obviously, there are also a million other reasons why I ship them—the way they talk to each other, the fucking looks—but I think that the the reason I love them as much as I do comes down to the dedication and the tragedy.

Characters

10. June (Vengeful by V. E. Schwab)

I’m genuinely so intrigued by her. I don’t have that much to say about her, to be honest, because we don’t have a lot of information on her, but I just really like her. She’s so interesting, and I really want to learn more about her; I hope we get more of her backstory in Victorious.

9. Merlin (BBC Merlin)

Honestly, he goes through so much. He deserved so much better, but truthfully, his pain is part of why I love him so much. The thing is, I don’t often find myself liking main characters, because I fine “good people” to be irritating (in fiction, obviously). But Merlin intrigues me, because he starts with such a strong moral code, but he ends up sacrificing all of that for Arthur’s sake. And that? That kind of character progression fascinates me.

8. Juliet Caesar (Caesar and Juliet (Shoot from the Hip))

I love murderous women, okay? She’s insane, and I love her for it. Her line about women getting corrupted by power just like men was iconic. Also, I’m just so interested as to her character development. Because of the time-skip, we go from her being fourteen and a pretty innocent, sweet girl—albeit with a definite hint of desire for power—to her fifteen years later, as a full-grown woman, murdering people and running the entire country. And I just really want to see those fifteen years. (Obviously they didn’t have time in the play; this isn’t a criticism of that.) But yeah, she really interests me.

7. Arthur Pendragon (BBC Merlin)

The first time I saw Arthur Pendragon on a screen, I was twelve years old, and he was a dick. And the first words out of my mouth were, “He’s going to be my favourite.” And he hasn’t let me down. Arthur is a flawed character—which I actually really appreciate, especially since a lot of Arthurian stories portray him as the pinnacle of chivalry—but he has a good heart and a lot of trauma. And I think he’s such a fascinating character, especially looking at the way his dad fucked him up. He made a lot of mistakes through the course of show, but he’s always genuinely trying to do what’s best for his people.

6. The vampire slayer (the thirsty vampires sketch (Shoot from the Hip))

She deserves a name. (I’ve seen a few fanon ones floating around, but I wasn’t sure which one to use.) She’s amazing. She’s so clever, with the way she infiltrated Ybbob and Esmeralda’s home, and with her seduction of Esmeralda. Also, I’m very much here for her very open interest in both of the vampires. (You could argue that that was for show, but I like to think that that’s just what she told herself, and it was actually fuelled by genuine desire. But that’s just a headcanon.) (Also Sam played her really hot—)

5. Gwaine (BBC Merlin)

Okay so. First, to get the obvious out of the way: who the fuck let him look like that? He’s both pretty and hot, and that shouldn’t be allowed. For the record, that is not the only reason I like him. Honestly, the main reason I like him is because he’s a sassy little shit, and that’s my favourite character archetype. He has absolutely no regard for status, and he has chemistry with fucking everybody, and he’s honestly just a queer icon. (Out of the MANY queer-coded characters in BBC Merlin, he is one of the few I genuinely physically cannot picture being straight.)

4. Gavin Grieve (All of Us Villains and All of Our Demise by Amanda Foody and C. L. Herman)

Gavin. Gavin. I think the reason I adore him so much—or, at least, the biggest reason, because I have a lot—is because of just how far he’s willing to go. That’s what I look for in a character. He knows what he wants—to survive—and he will do anything to get it. He mutilates himself. He kidnaps someone. He tortured two separate men. He will do anything, and I admire that. He took his fucked-up family and childhood, and he decided that he was going to prove them all wrong. And he did, and I’m so proud of him.

3. Victor Vale (Vicious and Vengeful by V. E. Schwab)

There are very few characters I relate to as deeply as I relate to Victor Vale. (Which, knowing the things he’s done, is quite concerning, actually.) The way he talks about something being “missing” from himself, more after he became an EO but before that, too, but not feeling like that’s necessarily a bad thing, is both fascinating and deeply relatable. Also, there’s one scene that has stuck with me since I first read it: Victor in the hotel the night they rescue Sydney, feeling that bone-deep restlessness. That is the first and only time I’ve ever seen that feeling—which I also experience (it genuinely feels like torture)—adequately described. I love Victor for a lot of reasons; he’s pragmatic, and he’s quite ambivalent about morals, and he’s totally obsessed with and locked in on Eli. But every reason I give just comes back to how much I see myself in him.

2. Alastair Lowe (All of Us Villains and All of Our Demise by Amanda Foody and C. L. Herman)

Alastair Lowe is my baby. Honestly, his family fucked him up so badly, even worse than the other families—and that’s saying something. His obsession with being a villain is beautiful, and I really love seeing how his relationship to villainy and being a monster evolves through the books. He starts out so sure of himself, and then, after Hendry’s death, he’s so unsure, and then he decides that he wants to become a better person. And then, when Hendry comes back, he backslides so gorgeously. Honestly, he is one of the best characters I’ve ever read. He’s so angry, and he’s so sad, and he’s so hurt, and he doesn’t even know it.

1. Morgana Pendragon (BBC Merlin)

I said that I love insane women, and I meant it. I love insane women. Honestly, her character arc was so beautiful. (It could have been better executed, but overall, I still really liked it.) She was my favourite character from the first episode, and that has not changed since I was twelve years old. Good Morgana is my favourite. So is evil Morgana. (Also, this isn’t why I love her, but why the fuck is she allowed to be that gorgeous? It is deeply unfair to me as a queer person.) I genuinely don’t know what to say, because I don’t think I can offer any kind of intelligent insight into why I love her. I just love her.

you stare at nanami, disbelief clouding your features. from your spot at the dinner table, you stare up at him, waiting for more context. when he doesn't, you sigh, elbow coming to rest on the table as your thumb massages your temple.

nanami stands by the window, watching the sleepless city bustle with arms crossed over his chest.

the silence between you both is suffocating.

it's always ends like this with him.

it's a push and pull game between you both—it's always been that way.

"we can't keep doing this, 'ken." you say, finally standing up. "i'm tired of coming back, again and again, thinking that maybe this time, it will be different—that you will be different."

one minute, you're cleaning your apartment with a clear mind, then the next your head is foggy with memories of him.

some are happy—like when he had an assignment in okinawa, and made arrangements for you to come along, because he knew you always wanted to go.

or the time he stayed up all night with you, patience unwavering as you bared your heart.

but you find that most are paralyzing. you realize that the patience he had for you ran out.

when your situation with nanami began, you realized it began too perfect. he treated you like glass, like you were took good for the world. but somehow, in someway that you can't figure out—it blossomed into a situation when you both only got along after 9pm.

he began closing off, keeping you at an emotional arm's length at all times.

and whenever you wanted to try and relieve the weight on his shoulders, he'd shut you out.

you try to act like you don't know why it turned out like that, but truthfully you always knew.

deep down, you swore you wanted everything nanami had to give.

but amongst your delusions, through your fears of vulnerability, you subconsciously chose what was convenient for you. in turn, kento mirrored your actions.

but you know that the only one who needs fixing is you.

you're so aware of the fact you both would've made it, but you ruined it, villainizing him and victimizing yourself.

“i do it because i want to.” is all he says, staying rooted in front of the door. “you see it as using me to love yourself, but i’ve always wanted you to see yourself in the way that i see you—i know that it’s not easy, and i know you have a hard time being vulnerable.

“i’ve realized that it’s easier for us to fight than to be completely vulnerable with each other. we can say sorry over and over again, but i want us to change,” he runs a hand over his face, “i want us to be like how we were in the beginning.”

absolutely tweaking rn, so rant incoming about the horror fandom, specifically tcm lol. mostly writing this because of a post i've seen today and some recent events

content warning for triggering topics and the discussion of antis and proshippers

both antis and proshippers are two sides of the same coin, and both are driving me up the walls. antis don't know how to defend their cause and proshippers are gross. my god, when i hear the argument of "you're fine with murder but draw the line at x?" holy shit dude. and usually x are those taboo, problematic topics but the ones i'll be focusing more on are incest and necrophilia.

breaking down that argument, last time i checked, no one actually thinks murder is okay. where's the horror in horror if violence is portrayed as a good thing. it's more tolerated than incest or whatever, why? because murder can have a reason— necrophilia, sexual assault, incest, etc, cannot. do any of those reasons make it okay? absolutely not, but there's the possibility of an explanation. in the case of texas chainsaw massacre, they're doing it to survive. maybe not johnny (which is someone i'll come back to later), but they're planning to eat their victims. they could've turned to a less drastic option, yeah, but hey it's fiction. whatever's necessary for an interesting plot.

speaking of fiction, the argument of "it's fiction not reality" also sucks in its own right. fiction usually has elements we take from reality, most things we make are based off of reality somehow. again, we have the antis that harass people that enjoy villains being villains and we have proshippers that actively romanticize incest, pedophilia and shit. gotta tap the sign that says "people that enjoy villains and evil characters do not condone their actions" for antis and the sign that says "whatever you support in fiction is a reflection of who you are as a person, a person based in reality" for proshippers. besides, do any proshippers have siblings? i really hope they don't as someone who has a brother lol

and it's not that you shouldn't write anything with problematic topics, it's all about the delivery and intent. write toxic relationships, but don't act like it's a healthy couple. the post i've seen that prompted me to write this bullshit down mostly had the coffin of andy and leyley context to it and well— it's clearly written to be fucked up. does it make it good writing? depends, to me it comes off as incest written solely for the edgy shock value as of now but who knows. want a good example of problematic topics written well? go look at lolita by vladimir nabokov or something

anyway back to johnny, i've seen him being called a rapist, a necrophile, even being shipped with sissy. leave the bastard alone LMFAO. i can't deny that johnny being a rapist doesn't seem like a farfetched assumption, but at the same time, what the hell happened to boundaries? i don't care if people are into it, it's a problem when it's tossed around like canon lore and shoved into people's faces instead of treated as a private nsfw headcanon. surprise, people can enjoy horror without having their boundaries ignored just because they like horror.

getting a little petty here, but the whole necrophile drama really grinds my gears because a) it doesn't really make sense to johnny's character and b) it started because someone got the definition of necrophilia wrong. johnny's a narcissistic asshole that kills for fun— there is no power in sexually assaulting a corpse. the fun's over when a victim is no longer able to cower in fear and give any pain response. being turned on by killing people isn't necrophilia, hope this helps. even searched up on the classifications of necrophilia (insane how there's classification for that) for how they described johnny being a necrophile, and none of them fit

My first rec would be any Ana Huang book - she's a well known romance author and her books are what really got me into romance!!!!! For specific tropes like marriage of convenience/fake dating & grump x sunshine, I would mostly suggest:

Twisted Lies. Fake dating. Billionaire. TW: there's a subplot of the female lead being stalked, the male lead is...of a questionable moral ground lmao.

King of Wrath (its her second series). MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE. grump and sunshine hehehe <33 (HE'S SOOOO GRUMPY IT MAKES ME FERAL???) again, billionaires. looots of "dont touch my wife >:(" hot sex is a must in all Ana Huang books and she DEFINITELY delivers in this one???? again, morally questionable male lead

There's also Lauren Asher who has 2 finished series, and is currently one book (with the second coming SO SOON) into her third!!! Her first series is an F1 romance series so if you're into that, def check it out. but for the tropes you like, I would go for:

Terms and Conditions (book 2 of the Dreamland Billionaire series). Marriage of convenience. you cannot get more grump x sunshine than this one!!!!! DONT TOUCH MY WIFEEEEEEEEEEEE. so so so good and juicy and its soooo freaking!!! i cant describe it!!! but its so beautiful and the characters are amazing and the romance is just PEAKKK.

if you're into something more dark (like...dark.) then:

Twisted by Emily McIntire: first of all ALL her books are DELICIOUS - this book specifically is part of her Never After series, which is currently 5 books (with the 6th on the way!!) based on Disney/Fairy Tale stories, but its like...what if the villain got the girl??yknow??? its NOT retellings, it just uses concepts and vibes! For instance, Twisted is Aladdin "based", using concepts like the magic lamp, character dynamics and overall vibes!! its a DARK. i must make it clear, DARK!!! marriage of convenience enemies (toxic kind) to lovers vibe. its DARK. so the romance is a little messed up but its SO FLIPPING GOOOOOD

All her books are great if you want to look into them. 10/10 10/10

THIIIIIIS ONE!!!!!!! its not fake dating...EXACTLY....BUT. our lead girl wrote a hit romance novel (under a fake name) and is CERTAIN she'll only ever be a one hit wonder bc she cant seem to write a second one to secure herself a contract deal!!! her best friend's cousin needs to crash somewhere and so she offers her place (actually her best friend's place bc her place is damaged or smth) turns out this cousin happens to be the guy who was SUPPOSED to be her date to her best friend's wedding!!!!! but he ditched. anyway they get into an arrangement where she lets him stay with her, he helps her to "rekindle the flame" and get back into touch with romance via....practice dates (WE ALL KNOW HOW THOSE GO???) anyway SOOOO CUTE SOOO FLUFFY hot smut, 10/10 5 star book. one bed trope bc they. share a bed.

i need to note that in all the previously mentioned books, he ALWAYS falls harder. ALWAYS. and i love most of these bc the female leads are SO relatable (delusional (like me), know a gorgeous man when they see one, funny as hell)

1. What made you ship it?

The short answer is: my own imagination.

It's one that I've only recently given serious thought to, so this is a new one that I'm playing with. I like to think that if Yami Bakura had met Duke during Duke's villain phase, they might have teamed up, not because Bakura would have seen Duke as an asset to him, but because he thought he could use Duke as a distraction for Yugi and co while YB does his own thing. I think he would have found Duke too interesting to toy with to get rid of after that. As villains together, they would have very Fatal Attraction vibes and be a super possessive, fucked-up couple in a way that's fun to watch but horrible for real life. Duke keeps trying to prove he should be Bakura's focus instead, and as a result keeps getting in the way. Bakura is his mentor in villainy. Duke will absolutely turn on him if he ever finds out that Bakura killed Pegasus, and then it becomes a "if I'm going down, I'm taking you down with me" mutual-destruction-but-at-least-we're-together kind of thing.

All evil and villainy aside, I think YB (esp the Season Zero version) would actually really enjoy Dungeon Dice Monsters. Then he sees the hottie who invented it, and in the most unhinged way possible, he says "I want to devour you" (because that's him trying to flirt) and Duke sees it for exactly what it is but laughs and says, "Get in line, pal, you're not the only one," and Bakura realizes he has to prove himself worthy of his attention (that's always going to be a theme with this ship). So he does his usual attempts at getting to know someone: digging through their trash, stalking them online, breaking into their home—and decides that since DDM means so much to Duke and us something Bakura also enjoys, he's going to prove him myself by winning a DDM tournament. Duke is present at the tournament of course and sees Bakura's efforts and realizes that he isn't just one of his fans and is seriously interested, so Duke decided to give this raccoon of a man a chance. You know they shop at Hot Topic together to be their fabulous goth selves and bond over dice collecting.

2. What's your favorite thing about this ship?

Goth dice dorks bonding over complex dungeon games.

Duke is the bad bitch that Bakura pulled by being autistic.

Duke doesn't care about Bakura being an eldritch magical monster of destruction, he will still call him Babygirl~ and Bakura gets flustered just trying to process that.

And if we go with Duke x Zorkura, you know Dukey Boi becomes a certified monster-fucker, and is proud of it.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I don't know that this rare pair even has popular or unpopular opinions on it, but I do think it might be uncommon for people to consider both the villain and non-villain potentials for this ship, because I think most people forget about Duke's villain phase (or Duke entirely 😭).

I did just realize that they lowkey have the same vibes as Thiefshipping without the toxicity or the mind control, and I feel like that opens up a whole new world of possibilities. 👀👀👀👀

He's honestly very interesting to me, and I find him very unique among villains. Like he doesn't hate WoL, in fact he calls us his "first friend." He fights for his own pleasure, which is really cool to see amongst the sea of villains fighting for vengeance or for what they perceive as right- but not Zenos. He fights to feel something. Zenos fights to feel the high of battle. He really is a monster. I do kinda think it's his dad's fault because he shows no remorse for his son's death and states that a monster is not fit for the throne and honestly that solidified him for me. A villain living and fighting for nothing but the thrill of battle is just super poetic for me. We are his friend, his equal, and his greatest rival because we are the only one who can compare. Eikon slayer, hero of Eorzea; the Warrior of Light is the only one who can give him that thrill.

Makes me wonder how he developed this thrill for battle. Throwing himself into increasingly dangerous situations to feel the rush of adrenaline from a good hunt. He's what, 26? Has he been this way since he was a kid? Or was it something he fostered as he got older and served in the Garlean army?

Anyways now onto the shippy stuff-

I'm gonna say it right now, but Elysia is one order away from being a bloodthirsty murderer. Killing gods has given her something of an ego- and honestly if it weren't for the Scions and the Alliance puppeting her around she'd be little more than a monster herself. She's vain, prideful, and a little selfish at times. She has little left to live for, and not much to return to.

So in a way, her and Zenos are similar. They both have major daddy issues lmao, but that aside, Elysia also seeks an equal. Eikons are all the same when they die, and no mortal has every really measured up to her.

Also while drawing this, I realized Zenos has little demon wings on his armor that contract Elysia's angel theming perfectly. Hehehehe it's just soooo juicy. Esp because Elysia isn't exactly an angel herself- she's kind of a piece of shit but she often tries to hide it behind her charms. So I think it would lead to this interesting dynamic of Zenos wanting to see her truly unleash that beast and be the rampaging piece of shit she is and Elysia trying to keep that side of her under wraps because he doesn't deserve the satisfaction of seeing her true self.

I can see the twisted potential of them being together- Zenos utterly obsessed with finding his equal and Elysia being more than happy to have yet another man wrapped around her finger. Reasoning be damned, she just likes the attention and appreciates the fight. They would be... an interesting power couple.

But at the same time, I did say that they were similiar and in some fucked up way I think they would find comfort in each other. Now they definitely operate under the "I can make him/her worse" logic but it's comfort nonetheless and anything is better than whatever the hell Zenos was raised in so yeah. If they were to be more genuine though, I don't think I see them being in love with each other. I think Zenos would confuse all the adrenaline for affection in the above toxic scenario, but I cannot see him actually being in love with her lmao. I think Zenos x WoL kinda needs a morally sound WoL to be a somewhat functional relationship and Elysia is... definitely NOT that girl lmao.

I think they would be great friends actually. They kind of balance each other out. Zenos "hehehehehe violence, carnage bloooodddd" and Elysia being all "okay yes but let's be subtle about it." Also I think more than anything, Zenos needs a friend to get his shit together like love will NOT fix that man. Not that they would try to fix each other, and that's the beauty of a friendship. They're both just kind of existing and understanding each other.

My fix for this is the Eorzea Academy AU where Zenos is still yk crazy and whatnot but Elysia is his keeper lmao. Like "Sorry abt my dog" and it's Zenos bullying the freshmen or smth lol.

i really do not get all the hatred sonamy fans get in the sonic fandom.

so are all other ship fandoms. i've had experience with toxic shippers of other ships. but you won’t see me generalizing the ship's fandom over them. every ship has its fair share of toxic fans. so why is it that only sonamy fans get all the heat for being toxic? i'm not denying that there are bad eggs in our fandom but i don't think its fair yo act like we're a special breed of toxic. i've seen fans of other ships with r*pe on amy yet people don't use them to generalize the whole ship's fandom.

"they think their ship is canon!!"

in the 2000s-2010s, maybe we did have a lot of fans who thoight that way. but nowadays whenever sonamy fans claim its canon, its always done in a joking way. its what fans lf literally every other ship do. i've seen people jokingly say "x ship is canon" because character a looked at character b funny. but no one ever attacks them for it. so why is it that only we get attacked when a lot of the time we aren't even serious?? we KNOW our ship will never actually be canon. we KNOW sega has no intention of changing their dynamic as of now. we're just having fun with the moments we're given. especially in recent media. why do y'all froth at the mouth over that. don't like it? just ignore and block.

and to be honest? as sonamy is now, it can be considered semi canon. like, give me a platonic explanation of the "amy, i should've made up my mind sooner" line in frontiers. IF sega decides to make them a couple, their dynamic still won't change. it'll still be very subtle except they're actually a couple now and you won't even notice it. and even then no one's stopping you from liking other ships. and if they are, well the block button exists for a reason.

"but the fanfics-"

i have my beef with old sonamy fanfics. but i have a feeling the people who made them were young kids and teenagers. i'll bet a lot of them have grown up now and have better things to do in life. now i hardly see any sonamy fanfic that villainizes sally or makes sonic an asshole for the sake of angst. the more extreme shippers from the 2000s-early 2010s should not be used to judge shippers today.

imagine if i used the sonadow shippers i encountered in 2014 deviantart, who were mostly allocishet girls who shipped them because they fetishized gay men, made both of them extremely ooc (anyone remember the terms seme and uke?), and of course hated amy for getting in the way of their ship, to judge the sonadow shippers of today who are now mostly mellow and enjoy their ship in peace, it wouldn't be fair now would it?

most of the ages in sonic make no sense! there's a line in sonic forces where infinite claims sonic has defeated eggman for decades, and sonic's only supposed to be 15. granted using sonic forces may not be the best example but it shows how little sega cares about the ages. and now they've even been renoved from sonic channel. AND even ian flynn himself has said not to worry about pairings like sonamy and knuxouge because there's nothing wrong with them.

Here is my personal ranking of all the seasons:

Total Drama All Stars. Best season. Great concept, with it being an all star season. Great cast, with Sam being one of my favorites that season. Gave us Mal, my favorite antagonist. Everyone that season had amazing writing.

Total Drama Pahkitew Island. Loved the new cast, with Leonard being my person favorite. Skave is also one of my favorite ships, and Scax isn't too far behind from them. I love the new Island, and every character felt perfect.

Total Drama Action. Beth is my favorite finalist, and I believe she deserved her win. Also, Duncney and Gidgette in this season are amazing. Plus, Heather gets voted out early, and she is one of my least favorite characters. Very happy that happened.

The Ridonculous Race. It gave us Nemma, ending the argument that was Noah's sexuality, proving once and for all that he is straight. Plus, it gave my favorite, my most yaoitastic ship of all time: Gerry x Pete. I was very upset that they were an early boot. I was even more upset when Leonard was an early boot. It also gave us the Haters/Daters, a great couple to come out from the season. As well as the best friends. I loved the entire "Will they, won't they" story they had going. It did not get annoying att all. The thing the brings this season down though is the fact that Don is the host. He is not as good as Chris.

Total Drama 2023. New cast. It did give me some new favorites, such as Chase Ripper, Chemma, and Chipper. I do wish we got Rayne instead of Rajbow, and I hope we get a raynebow love triangle next season, as those are always my favorite. I also hope Julia goes bald next season, to match the other seasons with the theme. My favorite episode was epsiode 5, as fart jokes are very funny.

Total Drama World Tour. If I could make it lower, I would. The only saving grace of this season was Gwuncan becoming canon. Aleheather is my least favorite couple from the entire season. They are poorly written, bad at romance, and neither of them deserved their spot in the final 2. Cody and Duncan should've been the final 2, giving us a great yaoi-off to end a horrible season.

Total Drama Revenge of the Island. 2 words: New cast. From the very start, I was not interested in the new cast. All though some of them looked interesting, they got an early boot. I wish Staci made the finale, the finale that was got was one of the worst ones out there. Scott is the worst villain. They should've put more emphasis on the toxic waste. I will give props to the Dakota plot line though. My favorite from the season.

and a side note here, but i'm mainly interested in writing ocs between the ages of 18 – and 26 as of now (flashbacks to younger ages are fine) and i do NOT enjoy large age gaps so please come at me with oc ideas within this same age range. i also need to leave a note that i have a preference for model fcs or lesser-known actor fcs– the only exception for popular actors would be if they're foreign such as kdrama actors or if you ask for suggestions and i mention it but otherwise, i'm not interested in the common fcs and am fine with using no fcs too. i'm totally with writing smut, cool with darker kinks too or doing fade-to-black based on your preference. but dear god, i need our ocs to be villainous and toxic and just a little problematic.
