so i am currently rewatching Gotham and I genuinely believe it needs to be watched as a comedy because what the fuck do you mean the former mayor of the city comes back from the dead as an immortal assassin that cannot be harmed by blade nor bullet, and Oswald's response is "okay but what about a rocket launcher though."

That entire scene is pure comedy. Oswald's casual little "see you in hell Theo" and the music switch up as Butch emerges from the shadows with (you guessed it), a fuckang rocket launcher that launches rockets.

Meanwhile, this is just another Tuesday in Gotham for Jim and Alfred, who watch the scene unfold like this:

on early s2 of my gotham rewatch and i can’t understand how nobody knew Theo was evil. he put himself in so many unrealistic situations to make himself look like a hero and he was a bad actor in all of them

How Gotham Characters' Religious Beliefs Change and Oswald Cobblepot's Fear of Hell 🔥

Inspired by @shyjusticewarrior 's post saying that we don't talk enough about Oswald's canonical fear of hell

Spoilers for S02 E12

My headcanon is that after people were resurrected, especially Theo Galavan, who Oswald saw die very clearly, some main characters (I'm thinking Jim too) kinda became agnostic. Sure, a miracle just happened, but what a weird one. Was Theo in hell? Mhm, he came back with a god complex and badass powers instead of traumatized, does it really matter?

Also let's not forget that Oswald was willing to die/okay with it multiple times, either for loved ones or because he hit rock bottom. 😢

In total, a lot of Gotham characters start out with a big fear of hell because if it's used to instill fear in Gothamites, it must be horrifying with how bad Gotham already is. And then the resurrections start.

Probably an unpopular opinion but Tabitha Galavan should have died when she was in the hospital after Galavan stabbed her in season 2. They kept her alive wayyy too long. Though, I do appreciate Penguin’s long con when he got revenge by healing and then killing Butch in front of Tabitha. But waiting all the way until season 5.01 to finally get rid of her was…a choice, to say the least. He killed Galavan way sooner (both times) and he wasn’t the one who put the knife in his mother’s back.

I’m having a serious re-watch while my kids are with me and I’m like “hold up, let’s rewind this bit, watch that bit”. Gotham officially is my comfort show when my babies are screaming in my face. 😭💚💜
