Consider me (Bakugo x Fem! reader)
Here's another long ass story from me. Bakugo x Fem!reader. You were the new girl in UA and you've instantly caught the eye of the "Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight". Even he was surprised too. This is just a fluff story of how I think you're love story with Bakugo will blossom. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Part 1-The Invitation
Tumblr media
The tiny clock on your desk read 08:30 PM. Homework has kept you from mingling with your classmates in the common room since 7:30 PM.
'Wow!'
You thought, not expecting that it's already been an hour since you started on your school work but still haven't finished.
Although it was a Friday night, your teachers didn't hold back in giving you things to do before the weekend. Luckily for you, you were the type of person who likes to spend her weekend however she pleases, so you made it your goal to finish everything tonight.
You were a 2nd year student at UA who just transferred recently from Shiketsu High School, which is located in the western side of Japan, due to your parents relocating because of work. The news of the move was heartbreaking for you because that would mean you'd have to leave your friends.
Starting anew was always daunting, but you had to face it, since your dad's current company have closed due to some issues and his new job required that he be situated near his work place.
You did thought to keep on studying in Shiketsu High School, but the commute would be very tiring it was one the opposite east side of Japan, opposite your new home, Musutafu in Shizuoka Prefecture. Which means to you had to transfer to UA.
The first day of class as a new girl was always nerve racking, but you were welcomed with open arms by your new classmates and that made it easy for you to adapt to your new environment. Of course, you still kept in touch with your friends in Shiketsu but your new friends were very nice to you and they made you feel that you belong.
You were now getting started on your Modern Hero Art History when you heard a knock on your door.
'Who could that be?'
You thought as you stood up to answer the door and to your surprise it was Bakugou Katsuki.
What was he doing here?
With eyes growing wide, you gasped at his surprise visit.
Who wouldn't be surprised? The person that you've been crushing on since day one just suddenly showed up on your door step. Anyone would be caught off guard!
Yet here he was, standing in front of you, all 172.2 cm of his gloriousness.
'It's him! IT'S HIM!! Why is he here?!'
'OMG! OMG! OMG!'
A sudden 'ahem' from Bakugo brought you back down to earth from cloud 9.
Bakugo:
"Um ... "
Obviously nervous for having to do what he needs to do right now and just the sight of you makes his knees wobble, he attempted to speak in a shaky voice, hoping that you wouldn't hear how loud his heart was beating.
He drew a deep breathe and exhaled to calm himself down before trying again.
Bakugo:
"Hi, L/N-san. Um ... I know you're wondering why I'm here. There is something that I wanted to tell you ... and that's ... Will you go out with me?"
Finally! He finally did it! He said it! He was glad to have taken another deep breathe before asking as it gave him an ounce of courage to speak up.
And now for your reply.
Y/N:
"Hmmm?"
That was all you could manage because truthfully, you saw his mouth moving that told you that he was definitely saying something but none of it reached your ears due to the deafening sound your heartbeat.
Bakugo:
"Will you go out on a date with me?"
Tumblr media
After repeating his invitation, his heart beat somehow changed it's rhythm. He was a nervous wreck before coming to talk to you but now even more so.
Fear was familiar to him, it fueled him to be more brave, and he had no problems overcoming it. But this fear he feels now is different. It's as if, for the first, he was genuinely scared. Scared because of you, of how you would respond. Scared of being rejected, he wouldn't know how to get over it if you did.
Anticipation emanated on his face.
At last, you got out of your daze and finally heard what he was saying.
Y/N:
"Out?"
Well, most of it.
Bakugou:
"Yes. Will you go out with me, L/N-san?"
If you haven't noticed anticipation painting his face, you certainly heard it.
And then it struck you.
Y/N:
"What?"
Are you hearing this correctly? The Bakugo Katsuki asked you  out! You wanted to scream.
Were you dreaming? Is this a prank?
Y/N:
"Why?"
You blinked in confusion because this was so unreal. Why would he want to ask you out?
He was certainly taken aback by your question. Was his question really that difficult?
Bakugo:
"'Why'? Because ... Well ..."
Tumblr media
(A/N: please don't mind the background in the image. I'm using his expression. thanks.)
He was lost for words.
'Why? What do you mean Why?'
To simply say that he likes you would be an understatement. He doesn't know what it's called exactly. All he knows is that he feels it for you and he couldn't help it.
Bakugo:
"Look! I don't know 'why', okay? Will you go out with me or not?"
If he sounded impatient, he didn't mean it. He was just getting anxious now that you might say 'no'.
You lowered your gaze showing to think whether to accept his invitation or not.
Y/N:
"Um ... I don't know."
There it was. You don't know.
Of course! What was he expecting?
Why in the world would you give him a chance?
To him you're a goddess. Out of all the girls he has met, you were incomparable to them.
You didn't even need to try. Just the sight of you was breathtaking. Not to mention your smile. And when you look his way, he swears, he wanted to be in that moment forever.
And him?
He was just a loudmouthed gremlin who couldn't care less about what people say or think about him and that would be enough to turn you off. So why would you even consider liking him?
Although he was one of the top student in your class, he wasn't conceited about it and according to his mom he was handsome. Sure, he has a scar on his face, but he wears it proudly. Who wouldn't be proud of it? He fought OFA and won!
Tears slowly start to form behind his eyes because realizing that you might not feel the sameway is painful but he held it back as best as he can.
Y/N:
"I mean ... Well ... It's not that I 'don't' want to go out with you. It's just ..."
Was he hearing it correctly? You're hesitating?
'What does she mean? Do I have a chance?'
Hope began to spring inside his chest and he was quick to blink away the urge to cry.
Bakugo:
"What do you mean?"
It was no joke. He started to feel warm inside.
Y/N:
"I mean ... I'm not saying that you're a terrible person. No. No! In fact, I think you're wonderful! I mean, you're one of the best in our class and I believe that you'll become a great hero. Our classmates are witness of that. And not to mention that your getting higher grades than me and you're not conceited is definitely something I admire about you."
It was his turn to be speechless.
He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Did you just compliment him? And somehow you seemed to not realize that you did.
Bakugo guessed that that's one of the things he likes about you, your honesty. You were not afraid to say what you think or feel. According to him, you were brave that way.
Realizing what you just said and the fact that you can't take it back now, you just decided to ask him again.
Y/N:
"It's just that ... are you sure? About me?"
The hesitancy in your voice was clear. Why would you ask him that?
Besides pursuing his dream of becoming the number 1 hero, he was sure about this, about you. Then why would you ask him that?
Why would he even bother allowing sleepless nights with the thoughts of you and pluck up the courage to ask you so that Kaminari, Sero, Kirishima, and Ashido would stop nagging him about it if he wasn't sure?
Bakugo:
"I'm not sure I follow you. What do you mean am I sure about you? Why would you ask me that?"
He was honestly confused because to him you were perfect. It was him who feels unworthy of even talking to you.
Y/N:
"Um ... I just ... Your this and ... I'm ...  This."
As best as you could, you explained whilst gesturing to him and then to you as if that got your point across.
But it didn't. It was clear on the bewildered look that he was giving you.
What you wanted to say was why would he want to go out with you?
You never really did get high marks but you never got any failing grades in any of your subjects. Although, you believed that your not strong enough yet to become the hero that you always wanted to be and that made you insecure. Of course, you give it your best when doing hero training but you pale in comparison to Bakugo's strength.
Your inferiority makes you want to compare yourself to your other classmates it scares you to think that that might push Bakugo away and make him realize that you're not the type of person that he thought you were.
What's more difficult is that you don't know how to explain it to him.
You could only sigh in exasperation because your insecurities are making it hard for you elaborate what you wanted to say.
Y/N:
"Do you have your phone with you?"
Instead, you asked him as if out of nowhere with your palms open. Luckily enough he brought his phone with him and placed it in your hand without questioning you as to why.
The confused look on his face didn't not disappear, in fact it only deepened due to your action. So, you gave him an explanation all the while putting in your phone number.
Y/N:
"I'm sorry I couldn't give you an answer right now, Bakugo. I really don't like making rash decision and then wasting both our times. Is it okay if I think about your invitation some more before giving you an answer? I just ... hate being unsure of things and end up regretting in the end."
Your words stung him a little but he understood what you meant as he too did not like making decisions rashly.
In dejection, he nodded his head slowly as an answer to your question without even meeting your eyes.
Bakugo:
"Yeah. Okay. Good night."
Keeping his head down, he trudged toward the elevator.
It's as if his heart was smashed into a million pieces and the pieces gathered in his feet and that made them feel heavy.
'Oh no!'
You were worried that you might have hurt his feelings. Did he misunderstood what you just said?
Y/N:
"Bakugo!"
Calling out to his crestfallen-retreating-form, which pained you to watch, but you were glad that he still turned his to look at you.
Were you going to say that you changed your mind and that you have made a decision?
'Please, let that be it!'
Was he begging now? He hated begging! But if that's what it takes for you to say yes, he will be willing to get on his knees. That's how bad he has it for you.
Tumblr media
Y/N:
"Please text me your number and I promise, I'll let you know. I just don't want you to regret asking me out."
Those were your last words before closing your door.
Again. What did you mean by that?
He didn't know that asking a girl out could be this tiring.
Apparently, he just has to be patient with you and wait for your response. Hopefully you'd accept.
With his heavy heart, he turned to the elevator once more while searching for the number you saved on his phone. When he found your number, he was shocked by the contact name that you saved.
If he was confused a few seconds ago he was baffled now. But then again, he took it as a good omen and continued to tap on the call icon to let your phone ring on your side but quickly ended it.
Now you have his number, he thought.
'I hope you will really think it through and consider me.'
The elevator doors opened and Bakugo hopped in pressing "go up" button to return to his dorm floor.

I know this story is long. I just couldn't help.
Anyway, thank you for giving this a read and I hope you liked it!

i don’t wanna miss you like the other girls do
#12: I can't stop thinking about you, #22: Sometimes I just can't control myself when around you and #28: I have never felt this way about anyone
or
Jealous! Amy and brand new relationship-Peraltiago
Also: Do I need to make a statement saying that Amy obviously isn't the kind of person to think she owns anyone, but means it well and in an endearing way? There you go.
Enjoy!
Read here or on AO3
It had all gone down in a spur of the moment-kind of moment that no one, even less Amy, had seen coming and honestly would’ve preferred to be without. It wasn’t really her place to say or do what she did, nor even as much as react upon it, alas… she did; she was in so deep with Jake Peralta and so she did it anyways.
Said moment had gone down during a weekend spent in Hartford, Connecticut, where the squad had attended a two day-seminar hosted by their brothers and sisters in the HPD.
Since the drive to Hartford was one of two hours, plus the seminar took place Saturday through Sunday, the squad had huddled together in two cars and were spending the entire weekend, Friday through Sunday, north of their respective homes in Brooklyn.
Immediately from the moment they arrived at the the hotel slash conference venue where the seminar was to be held everything seemed to set the scene for a pretty smooth, perhaps even fun, weekend where the squad would get to be entertained by other things that the wondering of why they weren’t at home on a weekend.
No one on the squad had any kind of expectations for the unknown city, except Holt who mentioned The Mark Twain House and Museum as a highly ranked point on his to be done-list, which meant their collective surprise upon exploring the city after checking into their rooms Friday afternoon was indeed positive enough for them to not hate the fact they were spending their weekend away from home doing work-related activities.
The very second the clock obnoxiously signalled 7 AM the following day, because not being home wasn’t an excuse, Amy Santiago was up and out of bed leaving Jake to regret, just for a tiny second, that he shared a room with his brand new paramour. It’d only been two weeks since coming to terms about “screw light and breezy”, and so far everything was smooth sailing although that morning was clearly an example of the two still figuring out this new dynamic of theirs.
“Ugh, can you stop being a decent person and get back in bed,” Jake groaned in pain when Amy without hesitance pulled aside the curtain to let in the bleak east coast-sun. If they’d been away on vacation in Mexico, even just as far as California, then maybe Jake would’ve accepted this. But there sure as hell was nothing less motivating than a sad barely there-sun hiding behind puffy clouds but still shining brightly enough to rip him out of his comfortable sleep. Especially when all there was to “look forward to”, quote Amy, was seminars; learning and powerpoint presentations that would haunt him in his next sleep.
“Stop whining and get up! The seminar starts at 8!” Amy hurried carelessly at him used to his many complaints of this childish nature. She didn’t let it take up too much of her time and had already moved on to grab clean clothes from her duffle bag to put on after her routine shower.
From where he had indeed not moved an inch Jake could hear the shower being turned on, door to the bathroom still open, and if it wasn’t for the fact that he was exhausted from staying up just a bit too late watching stupid videos on his phone then he would’ve attempted to sneak into the steaming water with Amy because he could do that now… Insane.
On the other side of the shower curtain Amy had expected the same. There was very good reason why she’d added the little detail of leaving the door open and hoped would lure him out of bed. To her disappointment she quickly noticed her so-called sneaky plan was in vain leaving but one last attempt up her sleeve.
“Jake, the breakfast buffet closes at 7.30!” she called out momentarily turning off the shower to allow her to pick up on potential sounds which could indicate her victory.
Indeed the last attempt was the right one: seconds later she heard the sound of quick footsteps and the ruffling of what she guessed was clothing items before a messy-haired, baggy-eyed Jake stumbled into the bathroom stark naked and on the edge of out of breath. The way to a man’s heart really was through his stomach, Amy though to herself amused.
“Mind if I join in real quick?” he smiled sheepishly trying his best to hide exhaustion.
All complaints and opposing to her morning ritual went down the drain with shower water the moment Amy turned it back on and smiled through biting down on her bottom lip.
Santiago: 1 - Peralta: 0
Perhaps Amy had twisted the truth just a tiny bit to get him out of bed so early. Jake figured this out when they 20 minutes later walked downstairs and saw a sign announcing that the first part of the seminar wasn’t scheduled for 8, like Amy had said, but rather 9 and buffet as well only closed an hour later than Amy’s information had told him. Lucky for her he was so infatuated that he let her off the hook with a playful jab to her sides and a comment about how she probably didn’t even want to date him but was simply a double-agent sent to improve his habits and lifestyle. This in return earned him a very familiar by now laugh, roll of this eyes and smile-combo: a combo he’d never get tired of and already felt like getting an eternal subscription to.
The seminar was okay, he guessed; either that or watching Amy furiously yet impressively neatly take notes with the speed of light beside him was enough to make it feel so. He was convinced of the latter when she afterwards with the brightest smile on her face showed him all the knowledge she’d managed to boil down to a few neatly organised pages in her notebook. It felt dangerous so early on in whatever they would turn out to be, yet also so very natural that in his world nothing was greater than the sight of Amy Santiago smiling at him. A sight he’d quickly grown addicted to already years back although without coming to terms with it until some months prior.
“Are you sticking around for the Q & A?” Amy interrupted his wandering thoughts whilst getting a new page in her notebook ready as a few people started leaving their seats and the conference room.
“Nah,” Jake shook his head honestly knowing that it would be lying to both himself and her if he tried to act like he genuinely cared about sticking around for an additional 30 minutes of re-explaining what he’d already spent 2 hours zoning in and out of. “I think I’ll head to the lounge. I’m feeling snacky.”
“Of course,” Amy smiled shaking her head in an evident manner. “See you at lunch then?”
“Yup,” he got out of his seat before adding a “see you at lunch, nerd,” accompanied by one last teasing smile before joining Rosa on her walk towards the exit. The comment combined with his soft brown eyes and warm smile was enough to have Amy feeling like a puddle of mush in her seat. To know that said brown eyes and warm smile were… hers? It felt weird to say or even just think it since they hadn’t officially declared themselves boyfriend/girlfriend but definitely were something; something not light and breezy; perhaps solid was the appropriate antithesis to use?
No matter what - light, breezy, solid or whatever they could be defined as - when her eyes trained after Jake walking off for just tiny bit longer than intended, Amy definitely noticed how a group of four women, colleagues, she assumed, sitting on the other side of the middle isle between her and them where Jake was walking chatted and giggled as their eyes switched back and forth between each other and Amy’s favorite partner. In spite of the fact that she was en excellent lipreader Amy, to her curiosity’s dismay, couldn’t exactly tell what these women were saying or giggling about however two things were certain: one was that they were in one way or another very interested in Jake, even after he’d left the room, and two was that Amy didn’t like it. An uneasy tightness formed in her stomach telling her so and she for the following 30 minutes of a Q & A she had looked forward to couldn’t focus enough to take any actual notes. All she was left with post Q & A were mindless doodles on an otherwise blank page which was both a waste of paper and but even worse of no good use for her knowledge.
The second the seminar was officially completely over which was everyone’s cue to leave for lunch, Amy did her best, notebook and pencil case held tightly to her chest, in an attempt to get as close to the giggly group of women from before as the room’s population walked out of the room in one big stream. Completely forgetting that she was supposed to meet up with the Jake and the others for lunch she automatically followed the four women to the hotel bar where they settled down - and so of course so did Amy simply opting for a few seats further down in conjunction with ordering herself a soda as to not attract herself any suspicion or attention.
“Oh my gosh, Sydney, you have to figure out who that guy from the seminar was!”
This definitely caught Amy’s attention, both to her pleasing and bitterness: pleasing because she’d been right about her gut-feeling and bitterness because that guy was her guy. Not whoever this Sydney was.
“Yeah, he was pretty cute right?” Who Amy guessed was Sydney, a tall, beautiful blonde clad in a nice pantsuit, Amy had to admit, answered just as enthusiastically.
“Totally! And since he’s here, probably, also a cop,” the same friend who had started the conversation chimed in and Amy wished to God she’d just shut up rather than stuff her friend’s head with bad ideas like hitting on Amy’s own guy.
“I smell work place-romance, ladies,” a third friend giggled riling the other’s up along with her. To them it was all a joke, fun, some kind of competition of cat and mouse but Amy, at her respective end of the bar, was feeling herself starting to boil, more than she’d like to admit, at the thought of someone else taking away from her what she’d just struggled for so long to obtain. It was her cute cop-guy from the seminar; her work-place romance; her… whatever! And also what kind of dumb name was Sydney even? Jake and Sydney? So dumb.
“I mean we are here for another entire day so I’ll have to make sure to run into him at some point. Tonight…” the tone of Sydney’s voice took on a sultry undertone that had Amy shuffling uncomfortably in her seat. “… wouldn’t be a bad time to run into him.” The smug smile on the blonde’s face had Amy feeling like punching it right off of her.
As if on cue, like timing couldn’t have been any worse, friend number four made her presence be known and squealed with excitement while pointing which of course immediately earned herself the three other’s full attention. “Girls! There he comes! Right there!”
Within seconds all four girls heads snapped to the side with wide hungry eyes reminding Amy of what a flock of vultures looked like prior to ripping apart an animal cadaver in a documentary she’d watched a few days ago.
Vulture-like or not, Amy’s head was included in this collective redirecting of focus and followed the direction in which the friend had pointed to.
And there he was indeed: Jake Peralta, clad in his navy blue long-sleeved NYPD-shirt and freshly cut hair with the tiniest hint at a beginning forehead curl, was walking into the lounge that very moment seemingly looking around for someone and also completely unaware of the people watching him as his entrance seems to unfold in slow-motion. Amy almost couldn’t blame the girls for drooling because the cocky detective looked really good walking into the room completely oblivious to the attention he’d brought upon himself.
“Damn… He looks even cuter than what I remembered. I have to give it a try, don’t I?” Sydney questioned, obviously rhetorically already knowing what she wanted as she almost drooled like an agitated Doberman.
“I mean if you won’t, Sydney, then I will!” the friend who’d noticed Jake enter the room playfully challenged, and even though it was all fun and games to them, Amy felt like her seat was on fire making it almost impossible to stay passive and seated for much longer.
“Oh, hell no. Stay away from him. This one’s mine, Jasmin!”
There was no telling if the line had already been crossed multiple inappropriate remarks ago and she’d managed by the grace of God to stay seated or if this last comment was the one to exceed what Amy considered her very flexible limits. Either way, no matter what, the first one option or the other, this time Amy failed to bite her tongue. She threw a comment out into the open without thoroughly considering its consequences out in the open fora first thus letting the group, especially Sydney, know what was weighing on her mind.
“You've got a lot of nerve to call a complete stranger ‘yours’,” the borderline growl of a tone in which the words came out in had Amy feeling like another person: not one she specially liked. This person, or perhaps even primitive beast was a better way of describing this persona, rooted deep down in her apparently found it very necessary to protect what she already within two weeks had come to mark as her territory. Never before had she felt so green-eyed, so absolutely reckless. This being said her instincts were more vigilant than ever before and it virtually felt out of her hands.
In the meantime, while Amy was looking at her decision in retrospect yet not at all since she wasn’t doing anything to prevent any further complications, the women had turned in their seats to collectively shoot quizzical, annoyed looks resembling daggers with their eyes at Amy.
“Excuse me?” The blue-eyed blonde challenged Amy to take her statement back which roughly said only goaded her raven-haired opponent further down the warpath.
“I said: You've got a lot of nerve to call a complete stranger ‘yours’.”
Feeling herself so ice-cold, so sure about something partially dumb and actually really petty would normally have Amy back down right away but something deep inside of her, like a raging fire, had her stand her ground. Apparently that’s what Jake Peralta could bring out in certain people, both Amy and Sydney included, because the blonde was not backing down just, rather instead coolly took another shot at Amy in the hopes to have her back off.
“Why shouldn't I? It’s not like he’s everyone, right? I’m for sure not letting any of these girls run off with him,” she pointed to the her friends behind her, the switch from threatening Amy to mindlessly joking and giggling with her little girl-squad having Amy metaphorically slack-jawed. Luckily not physically: there was no way she was showing this bimbo any sign of weakness.
“Okay, well…” Amy had had it for good and all consideration of rationality was out the window. Crowded police seminar or not there was no way in hell this light haired pest with her greedy crystal blue eyes and three flippant followers were getting the last word.“…let me explain to you why how you shouldn't assume and make people your property. Especially when you don’t even know them.”
Yes, she was being a hypocrite saying this but she was actually Jake’s special someone and not just some stranger: she did have a say in this.
For a brief second Sydney seemed shocked and like she actually considered Amy’s bold statement, but it didn’t last and before long blondie was back in the game apparently not satisfied with the way things could be left off. They way things should be left off, if you asked Amy.
“Oh, so you’re his “girlfriend” or what?,” the tone of Sydney’s voice clearly implied she didn’t believe anything Amy said.
All the, not doubt per se since she knew she wanted to be with Jake and he with her, but perhaps the insecurities about what stage they were currently at melted and slipped away as water off a duck’s back. It didn’t matter what exactly they were when one thing, the most important fact, was sure: they liked each other and they were going… steady. They were each other’s, politically correct to say or not.
“Yes, that’s exactly what I am,” Amy’s voice and eyes drilled into Sydney’s with a kind of confidence she’d never felt before, perhaps something Jake had brought into her life along with himself.
In return it earned her a mocking scoff.
“Easy for you to say. He might as well be a random guy you’ve spotted in the crowd,” one of Sydney’s friends stepped in to help her friend in what Amy knew was a lost cause on their part.
“He could be a stranger,” Amy paused very briefly biting her lip as to refocus, hopefully managing to not say anything that could potentially make the pointless, stupid conversation even worse. This but also she still did want to make very clear that the random, cute cop walking into the lounge (who even knew where exactly he was at this point?) was hers.
“But he’s not: he’s my boyfriend.”
It was as Amy allowed herself a small halt to provide her lungs with fresh air, just in case Sydney felt like dragging out the discussion, when cute cop-guy very suddenly made his exact position  known. He was walking straight up to the bar and them displaying smiley lips and eyes plastered on Amy. All the women’s eyes - Amy, Sydney and friends - immediately forgot about their opponent to focus on newly reappeared target who obviously had no clue about the fact that he was walking into the belly of the beast when he made it to his destination next to Amy.
“Hey, Ames.”
He nonchalantly stretched out his right arm to place a hand on the bar behind her crating a point of support for him to lean his weight onto.
“You catching up with some old friends?”
Oh, sweet naive Jake, Amy thought but also lowkey melted as he very credulously sent Sydney and her friend’s a warm, welcoming smile wanting to make a good impression on who he believed were part of Amy’s social circle.
“Eh,” Amy smiled culpably knowing telling Jake the truth about the situation would be the epitome of an embarrassment so early on in this new relationship of theirs. “I was just making small-talk, I guess. You know… meeting new people - yay.”
She couldn’t have sounded any less awkward and enthusiastic, even if she tried. Jake, on his part, was either really openminded or had figured out there was a good reason as to why she acted like she did and didn’t want to dig deeper into it, settling for an understanding nod.
“Well, anyhow… I don’t mean to interrupt anything but you never showed up for lunch and so I just popped in to try and find you.”
Even head turned to look at Jake who was slightly behind her meaning she could only see Sydney out of the corner of her eye, Amy could tell her smug, confident look from before was faltering with every exchange of words between Jake and Amy though they were far from flirty or telling about their relationship in any way. And, yes, she could’ve left it at that, as undramatic at it had all managed to turn out but Amy, well aware of how petty it was, she knew, couldn’t help but want to conclusively knock in the nail of victory.
“Aw,” Amy spun a quarter of a round on her barstool to face Jake behind her before affectionally placing a hand on his chest - both for the sake of the show but also because, wow, she could actually do that as she pleased now. Something she was still getting used to.
“That’s very sweet of you, babe,” the word in focus was always said in an affectionate tone but this specific context definitely had it over-enhanced and laced with extra sweetness to make her message very clear.
Then breaking her own no making out at work-rule, the only rule to have survived “screw light and breezy”, she couldn’t help herself and gave into the enraged possessiveness inside of her. She leaned in to place a soft, just a bit longer than a peck, kiss to Jake who automatically lightly bent his neck to eliminate the remaining space between their current height difference. The kiss was good, they always were with him, but it definitely had to send a signal that hopefully Sydney would pick up on: do not touch.
Amy, not wanting to break her own rule too much and give in to straight up inappropriate PDA, then pulled back to throw the women-squad a smirk over her shoulder as her hand never left the safety of Jake’s blue shirt.
“Anyways… I think we’re done here? Right, girls?”
To her immense pleasure Amy was met by a mixture of bitterness and surprise which had to mean she’d proven her point. Finally. Jake Peralta, officially boyfriend or not, was not to be considered anyone but hers - apart from being very much his own person as well.
In the meantime, slightly shocked but also far from displeased by Amy’s very out of blue-kiss, Jake stood passive by waiting for his partner’s upcoming directions. He didn’t have to wait for long because whoever these other women were, Amy was done with them and hopped off of her stool promptly grabbing his hand to walk away with. It took him a few feet of walking in silence before Jake could fully assemble and give meaning to everything that had just happened. He turned to question a still smug, also a bit guilty-looking, Amy.
“Okay, so are you going to tell me what all that was about?”
They kept walking out of the lounge and down one of the many halls of the hotel.
“Nothing.”
Jake was perhaps naive at times as he saw a lot of good in everything, which Amy loved, but he knew a guilty lip bite when he saw it and it was currently on full display on the raven haired beauty.
“Hey,” he pulled her aside into one of the many small wall pockets leading to individual hotel rooms as he wished to seclude them in hopes of it easing her into telling him the truth. “What’s up with you?” he smiled knowingly taking some intensity out of the moment. It’s not like he was angry or anything, curious being a better word for it.
“Nothing,” she smiled sheepishly trying to hurry out of the secluded area but quickly realising she’d failed once she felt his hand wrap around her upper arm to gently pull her back in. Her back gently fell back against the wall before him forcing her to face him.
He lightly tilted his head to the side much like a puppy would when feeling peculiar which was hard to resist when his eyes, soft and brown, had so much resemblance with a sweet puppy’s as well. She could tell he was teasing her, aware of the fact that he knew something she didn’t and it drew her insane in both the worst and best way - Jake Peralta summed up for you.
“Now I don’t believe that… girlfriend.”
In contrast to the playfulness controlling her body seconds ago Amy Santiago suddenly felt much more put on the spot, it clearly showing by the way her blood all at once seemed to fire up her cheeks. He’d overheard her talking to Sydney and the others; he’d heard her declare herself as his girlfriend when they hadn’t even agreed on calling each other that yet. The nervousness tricked her into making a loud swallow; yet another tell.
“Oh… y-you heard that?” She stuttered.
Jake nodded firmly almost encapsulating her against the wall when he took a step forwards, but made sure to leave just enough space for her to not feel straight up trapped against her will. A small smug smile on display. Why was he enjoying this? Didn’t he see that he was torturing her?
“I’m sorry - I really didn’t mean to. I know we’ve just barely begun seeing each other as more than friends, it’s just these girls were saying things about you and sometimes I just can't control myself when around you and then it just kind of-“
He cut off her rambling by pressing his lips to hers, much needed, gently pressing her up against the wall although. Only because they were hidden from the majority of the hotel’s population, Amy allowed and excused this - or so she told herself. The feeling of his welcoming lips made her forget the mess for a few seconds, just giving into how good of a kisser Jake Peralta was, and even for a few seconds after their lips parted again she was speechless and dumbfounded by how she’d gotten herself a guy this great.
“Stop apologising,” he chuckled quickly using his thumb to wipe the corner of his mouth which inevitably made him look that much hotter.
“I know we didn’t exactly “agree on it” and that it’s still all very new, like you said, but, Ames…” his eyes mellowed after looking just a tad too cocky and alluring before, during and right after the kiss. This was definitely a different shade of Jake looking into her eyes and talking: a very soft one. “… I don’t need a certain trial period or approval from anyone to know that I’m your boyfriend and you’re my girlfriend.”
Upon hearing these words coming from the one and only Jake Peralta with recipient being herself, Amy Santiago she felt her heart shoot through the roof, take a trip around the moon and fly straight back into her chest where it had her feeling like crying, smiling, screaming and laughing all at once: a very maniac-like but also wonderful feeling. The most wonderful as far as she could recall.
“And I’m not going to force you to tell me exactly what happened, but just based on the way your fists were basically clenched when I walked up to you, am I wrong to assume that they were, let’s say, treading on your territory…”
If she’d been blushing before then now her face was definitely on fire and looking down at her feet apparently didn’t help cover it at all. The silence was enough of an answer, one which he chuckled in reaction to.
“It’s okay, Ames. At least I came around before you could Jimmy Brogan them.”
At this sympathetic joke reminding her of a time that seemed to be so long ago she had to look back up. She couldn’t hold back a chuckle and it warmed her heart to share it with him just like when he shared his with her. All the previous insecurities: had she gone too far? Let her tongue run away with her? Given too much of herself too fast to something as brand new as her relationship with Jake? It had all been answered by a few simple words, caring eyes and a kiss that told her everything she needed to know.
“I just don’t want you to think I’m this crazy-jealous, possessive type. I’m normally not like this, I promise. I guess I have never felt this way about anyone before and maybe that’s why I’m acting up. Amy I crazy?” a tingling feeling of vulnerability made an encore.
“No, you’re not because I’m right here freaking out, in the best kind of way, because of what you just said. This is the first time I feel like this too, like I can’t stop thinking about you, and it’s scary and great all at once.” Jake was quick to wash away said vulnerability she was feeling and replaced it with a prickling affection and hope.
“So… no more feeling insecure about us?” he offered some kind of peace-offering, partly to her but mostly to their shared insecurities, trying to not come off as too gluttonous as he slid his hands onto her waist wanting to soak in a new feeling of belonging. A feeling he’d found in her.
“Deal,” Amy accepted the offering with a sheepish smile as her insides flipped upside down witch excitement. All she wanted was to be with this guy, fully and greatly, and this confrontation and mutual agreement would allow her to not give a damn about future external factors.
“Noice. Smart,” escaped him in optimistic relief but before she could roll her eyes at it he leaned in to softly kiss her again. Being held by him, hands gently tracing the front pockets of her pants while his lips took her to another world, was something she could never deny him or herself - screw the rules. Lips collided over and over again, one tug bringing on the next until they lost sense of anything and were full on making out like a pair of horny high schoolers in-between classes. This is what they brought out in each other: happiness, fire, want and so many more things they’d both spent the last two weeks wondering how they’d lived without before.
Unfortunately their movie-like moment had to be cut somewhat short as people coming back from lunch started flooding the hall passing by their little intimate pocket in the wall. Amy liked Jake but she also liked staying professional and this Jake respected. They jumped back, creating an exaggerated amount of space between them before sending passing strangers innocent smiles as if they hadn’t just spent the last few minutes declaring feelings and making out at an interstate police seminar.
“So, Detective Santiago…” his voice took on a brand new tone of gravity - a tone she also recognised as acting. “Shall we head over for lunch?”
“I’m sorry to come bearing such bad news, Detective Peralta, but people are flooding the hall as per consequence of the fact that lunch is over,” Amy played along taking on a serious tone and posture.
“Aw, man… Seriously?” he whined childishly, his recent serious persona from seconds before immediately  forgotten.
“Sorry… boyfriend,” she smiled sheepishly in an attempt to cheer him up which she had to praise herself, as it obviously worked seeing his face instantly lit up.
“Whatever… It was worth losing lunch over, girlfriend.”

is it all fake ?  part 7
Chris made good of his word , and he did see you again , almost everyday , some days it was a quick chatter , others it was at least a good decent 30 minute talk , and then there was time where he would run in just for a cup of coffee and leave with a simple small talk while making his coffee .
in the 2 weeks Chris has been stopping at the coffee shop you feel you self , asking for more shifts , then you usual do , usually your uni work keeps you busy . but even when your not working like today , you was sitting at a table near the bottom of the stair , with your laptop open , as you write your essay .
this wasn't   usual for you , you like being in the cafe it was quite and peaceful for the most part , as well as you loved the cafe , and the free WiFi helps .
As you were typing away on you laptop you heard the door open you couldn't help but look up every  time , in hopes it would be Chris and every time much to your disappointment it wasn't . Apart from now . Chris walk into the  cafe with a small smile , only to fade once he looked at the counter ,  You stopped typing as you couldn't help your self , but curiously look at Chris from a far . Chris stood in a line with two people in front of him as he placed his hands in his back pockets , with his usual cap on . You watched as he titled his head quickly around the cafe , looking for something or someone . Chris whipped his head around his eye line going past you , as you watched his shoulder slump until his eyes snapped into you direction. The smile appeared on his face once again , and you could help but your heart flutter as your own smile placed on your lips  . He simple nodded at you and looked back towards the counter , your own smile dropped as disappointment filled you .
You looked down at your laptop , as you rested your cheek on your hand, punching the keys with one finger . All you  motivation had been drawn out long ago , to appoint where you had just been typing the alphabets .
it wasnt untill you heard a chair squeek and a plastic cup filled with milky brown with satled carmel came into view , along with a fairly handsome hollywood actor .
“ one salted caramel iced latte for a girl who very much looks like she needs it “ Chris voice chuckled as his blue eyes were only one you . You breath hitched in the back of your throat .
“ huh .. thanks you didn't have to really “ you said as your usal confident self was trembling as it normal does around him . He pushed the cup further towards .
“ once again you look like you need it “
“ you really didn't ... “
“what is it with Brits never take anything when someone is being nice with them “ his chuckle return , you could help your own one escape
“well its usual because someone wants something after if , i think you find we are a very closed up brunch , you dont just take anything from strangers . “
“huh!” Chris dramatically gasped , placing his hand over his chest “  am a stranger to you now , i think ill just take this back then “ he placed his hand back around the cup , only for you to snatch it away , as you wrapped you hands around the other side , causing your fingers brush against each other , you both look up the same time , it felt like you both stayed like that for hours .
You nervously chuckled bring the coffee towards you once chris let it go as he cleared his throat .
“soooo ... i really look that bad on a  Monday morning .” you said stirring the straw around bring it to you lips , as it met the cold , sweet taste
“what ... uh of course not you look beautiful as always ... just umm you look tired thats all “ he nervously blabbed out
“ oh “ did he really just call me beautiful
“umm so what are you going here with a laptop instead of at the coffee  bar ?” he asked sipping his own coffee
“uni work “
Chris head snapped up “ your a uni student
“yep last year “ you nodded your head sipping your coffee “ thank you by the way “ you pointed to the coffee
“no problem , i do owe you one anyway . Um so what are you studying “
“umm nothing interesting” you stated
“what ! what makes you say that ? you enjoy it dont you “ he asked , you could see his was genuinely interested.
“ umm well i dont like the work load “ you chuckled , “but yeah , i do love it , its the only thing im good at apart form making coffee . “
“i find that hard to believe what is it anyway “
you scrunched up your face “ i study Law and politics “
Chris face was one of shock much like everyone else you tell
“ law , politics why them ?” he asked nodding his head
“ well its the only thing im good at really , and i have my strong oppiones this makes it easier to voice them”
“ sounds good , but why pull that  face ?” he blue eyes were studying you
“um well usual people think im a joke “
“what ! why ?” Chris shot up straightening his back .
“ um well ... people dot really take a well young opinionated women very well , iv know i wanted to do this ever since i was 14 , it was the only thing i good at a school citizenship , that lead me on to do my a-levels , to where i am . And usual where im from not many people g to uni , especially one in London “
“so people doubt you basically “
“well kinda , a working class girl form the north east  doesn't really get the same respect as her snobby mommy boy pricks in her class “
Chris couldn't help but chuckle at your outburst .
“what do you plan to do ... you know after uni “
“ to be honest “ you took a deep breath “ i dont know .. i wanted to work as maybe civil servant or even a solicitor but i honestly dont know “
“ oh well you never know what might come your way “ Chris gave you a knowing smirk but you had no idea what for

Tumblr media
Cory
1 “And I just want to ask one thing: What's this?” “No, NAME, we were just --“ “Undapants!”
2 “They want you to take the rolls!”
3 “Please pay at the register, honey. And tipping is not a city in China.”
4 “NAME, you're trying to seduce me.”
5 “No, I don't get hit by a bus.” “Why not?” “Because I use the crosswalks, I memorize the bus schedules, and if I've got a husband/wife like NAME, I ain't leavin' the house.”
6 “NAME, just face it, you're afraid to make a commitment.” “I'm not afraid to make a commit -- I've been with NAME for fifteen years!” “Ah, they've been good years.”
7 “Wait, is this you or NAME talking?” “He/She decided we're one person.”
8 “This is raw, hot, unfiltered passion, and that kiss opened the gates.” “There are no gates.” “Oh, there's gates.”
9 “You were one of those kids that enjoy getting spanked, weren't you?” “I always deserved it.”
10 “But I've never failed before.” “There's a first time for everything.” “That argument doesn't get you anywhere with him/her.”
11 “You're not my father/mother, NAME.” “If I were your father/mother, I'd spank you, NAME. Because that's what you deserve. A big spanking! Now take down your pants.
12 “How could you possibly get into this much trouble in one day?” “It didn't take me the whole day.”
13 “It's us against him/her. Living on the edge, babe.” “I like when you call me babe.”
14 “Maybe I'm dreaming. Pinch me! ... Not on the butt.” “Sorry, it was just right there.”
15 “Gee, NAME, I'm looking around the room trying to see if anyone asked your opinion. I don't see anyone. Is anyone? No?”
16 “Did you hear how I referred to myself in the third person for emphasis?” “I thought that was a nice touch.” “NAME did too.”
17 “Finally someone understands my particular genuis.”
18 “First of all, there is a Whipped Magazine. I didn't subscribe; somehow they found me.”
19 “You know, you're a very sexy boy/girl, NAME.” “Really? I'm a sexy boy/girl. Thanks. I can't wait to tell NAME.”
20 “I'm in! Those idiots let me in.”
21 “Well I am shocked and dismayed.” “Well now you can't be both. You be shocked, I'll be dismayed.”
22 “Wear something of mine. What do you want, a jacket or a hat?” “A jacket. I'm very prone to hat head. Sometimes I get it without even wearing a hat.”
23 “So how was your weekend?” “Ah, one of the all time greats. I slept in, I watched TV, I played video games. And Sunday I took it easy.”
24 “I'm supposed to see other people. You're supposed to wait until I die.”
25 “This is so great. I wish NAME was here.”
Shawn
26 “Use a mirror, babe.”
27 “You know, NAME, NAME said something interesting before that got me thinking.” “Wait a minute. NAME got you thinking?” “He/She seemed well rested.”
28 “You listened to NAME.” “Oh my God, I listened to NAME.”
29 “I mean, NAME, you're much cooler than I am. At least I thought you were.” “Trust me, I am.”
30 “Hey, if I had things my way, NAME would walk in the day after the honeymoon and have the whole thing annulled.”
31 “You know, I'd give up on them but I don't think they'd notice.” “What?”
32 “He’s/She's your ex. Let me spell that for you, X.”
33 “Please get out and don't ever come back.”
34 “Yeah, so it's like you're a couple and we're a couple, and we're exactly the same except that --“ “You're married and we're happy.”
35 “Well what kind of stupid thing was it for you to care whether I put you back together again? What are you, Humpty Dumpty?”
36 “I hate myself.” “You're not alone.”
37 “NAME, his/her lover.” “Oh, very tasteful honey. Did you hear that, NAME?” “NAME, his/her lover.” “Oh, shut up Yoko.”
38 “You're a disgrace to the entire back row.”
39 “You don't think I'm a geek?” “Of course not.” “You think I'm cool?” “Of course not.”
40 “You're thinking too much. Do what I do, don't think.”
41 “You sure that's three cheeses? Because I only see two. Where's the Gouda, pal?”
42 “Don't move. Maybe he/she doesn't see us.
43 “Oh, man, I gotta do something now. Think.” “You gotta think, NAME.” “Ow.” “Thinking cramp?” “Yeah.” “I get those, too.”
44 “Look, NAME, I've been doing some thinking. Ow!”
45 “We have to come up with a plan.” “You know that's so crazy it just may work.” “What may work?” “The plan.” “I didn't tell you what it was.” “That way they can't get it out of me.” “Get what out of you?” “Nice try.”
Topanga
46 “We've waited for this moment all our lives. What are you thinking?” “I can't believe NAME’s not here.” “I love you too.”
47 “NAME!” “Oh, no.” “Oh, don't you run away from me, you old goat.”
48 “NAME. My dear little butt-head. May I call you butt-head?” “Sure.”
49 “I don't want to offend any one and my family's feelings are the most important thing to me. But if she thought I was getting married in that freaking monstrosity, she must have been hitting the sauce.”
50 “Have you looked at him/her?” “Okay, so he’s/she's pretty, he’s/she's tall, he/she drives a new red convertible. Oh heck, I'd go out with him/her.”
51 “NAME, you transparent moron. If you sigh one more time, I'm going to give you something to sigh about.”
52 “You know I could take you.” “You don't want to dance with me, boy/girl.” “You don't see me running, do you?” “Bring it on, NAME.” “It's on.”
53 “That's it. That's it, I've had it! I don't want to put the Sweet & Lo in my purse.”
Eric
54 “Hey, little bro/sis. Life's tough, get a helmet.”
55 “So I said to myself, NOT THEIR NAME --“ “NOT THEIR NAME?” “That's what I call myself.”
56 “I'll do it. I'm the oldest.” “Actually, I'm the oldest.” “Yeah, but I've lived the longest.”
57 “I don't know what's going to happen to me. But I know I'm gonna be a good person who cares about people. And I blame you for that.”
58 “I sort of thought you guys would keep my room the way it is.” “Actually, NICKNAME, for that I think you have to be unexpectedly killed by a truck or something.”
59 “What are you going to do when your hair grows back?” “It's not going to grow back. I got my receipt!”
60 “I'm dead.” “I'm dead.” “I'll get as sick as you can get without actually dying.”
61 “NAME, one word: You're with me.”
62 “NAME, I think he’s/she's a witch. And not a good witch like Glinda, a bad witch like with the monkeys.”
63 “NAME, what are you doing to me? We had a deal. You and FRIEND are so perfect for each other you should be married!” “I'm not ready.”
64 “Oh, look at that. You wobble like a weeble!”
65 “Don't you see what you're going through? This is your middle east crisis.” “Middle age crisis.”
66 “Of all the nights to fight, I mean Halloween, this is the one holiday that's supposed to bring loved ones together.”
67 “How can I let it go when it haunts my very thought?”
68 “By the way, that last paper you wrote, I couldn't stop thinking about it.” “That's because it was smut! ‘My lips quivered.’ -- it was filth. It was screamy filth.”
69 “You can't do that, NAME.” “Why are you calling me NAME?” “Because that's your human name.”
70 “Stay out of this, NAME, it's a one man/woman mission. ... Will you help me?”
Mr. Feeny
71 “Don't you mean ‘do well’?” “No, I mean do good.”
72 “You are the worst babysitter that ever lived.” “And your children are the spawn of Satan.”
73 “I was expecting you. Today, tomorrow, yesterday. It was only a matter of time.”
74 “How are we supposed to get home?” “Wait 'til it's dark. Then run, very quickly.”
75 “You're still moving away? Ah, for the love of Mike, stop with the mind games, man.” “You know this is the reason I can't sell my house.”
76 “I know my man/woman.” “It's like we have one brain.” “Yes, well. That's too easy.”
77 “Ho, ho. Is that the stupid idea train coming 'round the bend?”
78 “Oh, I think you're much more stupid than you give yourselves credit for.”
79 “Well, since you're not set on a name for the baby, I, myself, have always been partial to THEIR NAME.”
80 “I'm not responsible for Dream THEIR NAME!”
81 “For years I've seen you give advice to everybody, but never me. Why is that?!” “You don't ask.”
82 “The guy on our couch eating our beer nuts.” “Mmm, nutty.”
83 “Wait a minute. Maybe we should all just think for a second.” “No, NAME and I tried that. It doesn't work.”
Jack
84 “You don't know what it's like to live here, man. You don't.” “Why do you stay?” “Because ... he’s/she's my friend. Because I like him/her. And no matter what crazy things he/she says or does, I still like him/her. God help me I still like him/her.”
85 “You know, NAME, I'm having trouble opening this jar.” “That's because it's a can.”
86 “I can't be poor. I'm too good looking to be poor.”
87 “I would never pay for that shirt.”
88 “He's/She’s too passive. He/She needs to voice his/her opinions more.” “Ooh, NAME, what do you think about that?” “I don't know.”
Angela
89 “You guys are our closest friends, but we are sick and tired of you!”
90 “Because I'd rather give him/her attention for acting normal.” “Oh, honey. We know that's never going to happen.”
91 “Let me ask you this, in all the time you were with NAME, did he ever call out the name S/O NAME?” “No, but he called out the name PERSON ANAME.” “In what context?”
92 “No, I was just a little surprised seeing you here, eating my food, which is mine.” — Rachel
Alan
93 “It's quarter after three. Only creeps and wierdos are up now.” [person c enters]
94 “Anything happens to NAME, I'll kill you.” “You like him/her better than me.” [person a nods]
95 “I have an incomplete future.” “Of course you have an incomplete future. The future's always incomplete. When it's complete, people tend to call it the past.”
96 “You chose FRIEND over your own flesh and blood? You're dead to me.”
Amy
97 “I don't like it when you call him/her an idiot, NAME.” “I didn't call him/her anything.” “Oh, well I guess I must have thought it in my head.”
98 “NAME, we used you as a decoy. We knew you'd be stupid so we used it against you.”
99 “What happened? I used to be good.” “NAME, I say this with love and respect. You were never good.”
100 “We're just asking you to get us off the hook.” “No. This is your hook, you're going to hang there like the worms you are.”

Sam x Reader (stardew valley)
Dandelion
Chapter 3
Tumblr media
The next day, I woke up in the early morning and planted my new seeds and watered my crops. I also noticed I had some mail. One was a fifty dollar check for some sap and fiber I sold the day before and a letter from the joja mart in the east side of the town. I put the money in my wallet and decided to go to the town again to see if anyone had posted a request. The walk was as peaceful as the day before with the morning light shining through the trees, the birds singing and the quiet patting of my feet in the soft dirt. When I reached the town, I looked at my watch and realized it was still really early, only 8:26. That meant nothing would be open for another half an hour. I sighed and continued to the bulletin board with the calendar and request section. On the requests, a small paper was pinned that said,
If it’s not too much trouble, I would like someone to bring me a Joja Cola after my shift at Joja Mart. I will give you 3 dollars. Bring it to me at my house around 2:30! Thanks!
-Sam
I took it down and took and put it in my journal, deciding to buy a cola from the saloon for him. I still had about 6 hours until then, though, so I decided to spend some time at the beach, which lay at the southern end of the town. I walked through the town square, then the small graveyard and to the bridge over the river that led to the beach. It was a very nice beach. A small cabin was built in one corner, where Elliot lived. The sunlight shimmered off the water as waves crashed against the sand. A fishing dock stretched into the ocean, and a small building was built and the far end of it. I walked around the beach and found some shells, which I placed in my backpack, then decided to see what the building was at the end of the dock. I walked down it, the old wood creaking and bending slightly under my weight, which made me uneasy. When I reached it, I opened the door to see a small fishing shop. It had bait, fish and fishing poles all over. At the end of the small room, behind a counter, a tall man with a gray beard and a red hat and jacket stood.
“Hello there! Yer’ new here aren’tcha?” He asked.
“Yes, I’m (y/n),” I said.
“Well I’m Willy. It’s good to meet’cha!” He said with a hearty laugh. “So, d’you have a fishin’ pole?”
“No, I can’t say I do,” I responded, hoping he wouldn’t try to convince me to buy one. I was really bad at refusing things, so I knew I would spend what little money I had on a fancy fishing pole if he suggested I do.
“I just got a nice fiberglass pole, so If you’d like, ya can have me old bamboo pole,” he said, picking up the bamboo fishing pole he had referred too.
“Oh, I would feel bad to take that,” I said, though I did want it.
“I don’t need it, so there’s no reason to feel bad,” he said, handing it to me, and J took it.
“Are you sure it’s alright?” I asked, to which he replied with a smile and a nod. “Okay! I guess I will go fish then!” I said, walking out the door. I then proceeded to fish until 2:10, getting tons of great catches I could sell, then left the beach and bought a Joja Cola to bring Sam. After buying it, I checked my watch and saw that it was 2:25, so I walked quickly to Sam’s house, and thoughtlessly knocked on the door, taking out the note with the request. Today, a young boy with reddish hair and brown eyes who seemed to be about 7 answered the door.
“Hello stranger!” he said.
“Hi! Is Sam here?” I asked the boy.
“Yeah, I will go get him,” the boy responded, going back into the house. A moment later Sam stepped out, and I felt myself get a little nervous.
“Hey there Farmer!” He said in a bright and cheery tone.
“U-um, hi,” I said awkwardly. “I saw your request on the bulletin board.” I said, handing him the Joja Cola.
“Oh, cool! I’ll go get my wallet,” he said, almost going back inside.
“You don’t need to pay me, it was only a dollar,” I said quickly.
“Well, on the request, I said I would, so I am going to stick to that,” he said with a smile.
“Well, then I will just use that 3 dollars to buy you a pizza or something,” I said stubbornly.
“Alright, then let’s get some pizza, on me.”
“Huh?”
“I will go get my wallet,” he said, smirking at me and going inside. After a moment, I processed what he had suggested and started to blush. He quickly came outside and said, “alright, let’s go to the Saloon!”
“A-alright,” I said, walking with him down the street and through the town square to the Saloon. “Also, let’s sit at the bar, because the chairs are tall and it’s more fun that way.”
I smiled at that suggestion, as I always felt the same way when picking where to sit.
“Thank you, for the pizza,” I said quietly, still blushing, but trying my best to hide it.
“No problem! This seemed like a good opportunity to make a new friend so I thought I should take it,” he said happily. He quickly ordered a pizza from the Saloon’s owner, Gus.
“So, have you lived here your whole life?” I asked in an attempt to make small talk.
“Nope, I moved here from Zuzu City about 6 years ago,” Sam said.
“Oh really? Do you prefer it here,” I asked curiously.
“I think I probably prefer the city. Things seem to move slower here. There are some nice things though,” he said, pausing before continuing. “I might move back to the city once I have enough money saved.”
“That makes sense. I guess the country isn’t for everyone,” I said, a little disappointed.
“Of course, that’s just a maybe right now. I might stay. Anyways, why did you move here?” Sam asked.
“I got tired of working an office job and remembered a letter my grandfather left me that he said to read when I was tired of modern life, and it had the will to the farm, so I decided to pack my bags and go,” I said, resting my chin on my hands.
“Wow! I wish I could do something as spontaneously as that,” he said, seeming amazed, which didn’t make sense to me. “I couldn’t do that though,” he said, looking a little sad.
“It hasn’t been all that great, so don’t worry to much about the idea of it. If anything, I wish I had planned more,” I said in response.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right! It does seem like it would be kind of stressful,” he said with a laugh, his mood restored. I smiled.
“Here’s your pizza!” Gus said, placing a medium sized pizza between the two of us with two small plates.
“Thanks Gus!” Sam said happily. “Pizza is my favorite,” he said, taking a slice. I got one as well and took a bite.
“Wow! That’s really good!” I said, taking another bite.
“Yeah! Gus’s pizza is the best,” he said, already having eaten half of his slice, sauce smeared on his lips. I let out a small giggle. He laughed and said, “Y’know, you’re a lot of fun! We should hang out more!” I blushed and continued eating my pizza. We spent the rest of the day talking about random things, and I learned a few things about Sam, like how his favorite color is blue, he plays guitar and sings, his favorite drink is Joja Cola and that he has a younger brother named Vincent.
I spent the remainder of the day in my room doodling and thinking about how much fun I’d had with Sam. I hoped we would be able to do something like that again. With that thought, I went to sleep.
I woke up the next morning, the sun shining through the window of my one room house. It felt so serene as I stood up from my bed, which loudly creaked in reaction. I spent the morning farming and weeding, only to remember I needed to meet Emily at 10:30 with only 15 minutes to make it to town. Panicked, I ran down the path to town and made it to her house on time, my breath uneven and shallow. I looked at my watch, which read 10:28, and knocked on the door. A girl with blonde hair answered.
“Who’re you?” She said in a rude tone.
“I’m (y/n),” I said, pausing to breathe. “I’m here to have tea with Emily.”
“Oh, okay I guess, come inside and I’ll get her.” I walked in and took my boots off, looking around. It was decorated normally, with a bookshelf, and a coffee table which was surrounded by a small couch and a chair. The blonde girl, who had failed to introduce herself, walked to another room and came back a moment later with Emily.
“Hello, (y/n)!” She said, smiling cheerfully, bright red lipstick lining her small lips. “Take a seat. Oh! What’s your favorite kind of tea?”
“Thank you, I like peppermint tea. I hope that’s alright,” I said, sitting on a yellow chair next to the coffee table.
“I like peppermint tea, so it won’t be an issue. Haley, would you mind making the tea? I wouldn’t want to leave (y/n) by herself to wait,” She said to the blonde girl.
“Fine,” she said, rolling her eyes and going back into the room she went to to get Emily.
“Sorry about her, she can be kind of rude. She’s my younger sister Haley, by the way,” Emily said, sitting on the small couch.
“She’s been fine, so it’s really no problem,” I said, feeling a little awkward.
“So, how are you liking Stardew Valley?” She asked.
“It’s nice here. Most of the people are very friendly, and farming has been a lot better than I expected,” I said in response.
“That’s good! We only moved here about 5 years ago,” She said.
“Oh really? Where did you move from?” I asked.
“Calico desert. It’s a lovely place,” She said, looking nostalgic.
“I’m sure it is,” I said. “I just moved from the city.”
“I can’t blame you for that. I’ve never liked the city. Too harmful to the environment,” She said in a serious tone, and Haley came in, setting out tea down. I quickly picked up my cup.
“That makes sense,” I said in response.
“Have you made any friends here yet,” Emily asked.
“Kind of,” I said, pausing for a moment. “Jodi is nice. I talked to her a bit. Also Sam is... nice,” I said, my cheeks warming as J looked into my tea. Emily giggled at me.
“I suppose you could say that. Sam is a good guy,” She said, smiling at me. I could feel my heart beat a little faster.
“Yeah. He got me pizza yesterday. It was so much fun,” I responded enthusiastically. Emily giggled again, and I started to take a sip of my tea.
“I hope I’m not overstepping any bounds, since we aren’t close friends or anything yet, but do you have a crush on Sam?” Hearing her words, I immediately choked on my tea and started blushing immensely . “Ah, sorry, are you okay?” Emily asked, sounding a bit worried. I coughed a few times.
“Y-yeah, I’m okay,” I said, though I was very embarrassed. “Also, your question was fine. I don’t think I have a crush on him, considering I barely know him,” I answered, but in that moment I knew I was lying through my teeth.
“Alrighty, if you say so,” Emily replied suspiciously. I could feel heat rising to my ears.
“Well, I have to go,” I said, downing my tea and setting the cup down. Emily laughed at me.
“Bye, then,” She said as I walked out of the door. I closed it behind me, closing my eyes to take a deep breath, only to be met by those gorgeous green eyes with blue and yellow specks. “S-Sam!” I shouted in surprise.
“Hey there, (y/n)!” He said cheerfully. I felt embarrassed knowing my face was still bright red. “Are you alright?”
“O-Oh, yeah, it’s just a bit hot,” I said, fanning myself, even though I thought it was very nice out.
“It is a bit hot. Anyway, I’m on my way to hang out with Abigail and Sebastian, so I gotta go! Bye, farmer,” He said happily, starting to jog away. I felt a pang of jealousy, wishing I could hang out with them too.
“Bye!” I said, giving him a weak wave.
“Don’t like him that way, huh?” I gasped, turning around to see Emily giggling at me.
“When did you come out here?” I asked, spooked from her sudden appearance.
“I have been here the whole time. You would’ve noticed if you weren’t so enraptured by Sam,” she said teasingly.
“I am not!” I said, lying to her once again.
“Alrighty. Just know, my door is always open if you wanna talk about it,” She said, ducking back into her house and closing the door. I blushed and decided to go home to collect my thoughts about the whole situation.
The walk home was long, and I felt uneasy the entire time. When I got home, I farmed and thought everything over, berating myself for getting a crush so easily on someone I didn’t even know. In the evening, I left the farm to go get something to eat from the saloon. When I arrived, the jukebox was playing a cheery tune. I sat at the bar and asked for some pancakes.
“You got it!” Gus said with enthusiasm, cooking them at a stove only a few feet away after handing me a small glass of water. I watched bubbles drift up from the side of the water in silence as I waited. “Y’know, I don’t know you, but you seem troubled.”
“How could you tell?” I asked.
“Running a saloon and seeing so many people makes it easy to read people’s moods,” Gus said, flipping a pancake. “If you don’t mind, can I ask what’s bothering you?”
“Oh, it’s nothing, just something dumb,” I said with a sigh.
“I know what it’s about!” Emily said, and I suddenly noticed her organizing wine bottles a few feet away.
“Emily?” I said in surprise.
“I work here, by the way,” she said.
“I figured,” I said in an accidentally rude tone.
“Well, if you don’t want to share, you don’t need to,” Gus said, handing me a plate of perfectly made pancakes.
“Thanks. These look amazing, by the way,” I said, taking a bite. “Mmm! Yummy!”
“Thanks! It’s taken years to perfect the art of the pancake,” he said in a serious tone. “Well, you seem to be okay again,” he said happily.
“Yeah, I feel much better than I did before,” I said, eating the pancakes faster, when the door opened with a creaking sound.
“Hey Gus!” A voice I recognized quite well said.
“Hey Sam,” Gus said in response, hearing Emily giggle at me in response the the redness suddenly coloring my cheeks. “What can I get you?”
“Could I get a Joja Cola?” He asked, sitting down next to me, giving me a quick wave.
“Of course!” Gus said, shooting me a glance, wondering what was wrong as he poured a glass of Joja Cola for Sam. “Are you okay? You’re kind of red?” He asked.
“Yeah, you were pretty red earlier, too,” Sam said.
“I-I’m fine!” I said quickly, looking at my glass of water.
“Are you sure? If you feel sick at all, you should go home,” Gus said.
“Really, I’m fine,” I said, and Emily laughed again.
“Yeah, she’s fine,” Emily said, smirking at me, and I glared at her.
“Well, okay then,” Gus said, looking a bit suspicious.
“It’s good you’re alright,” Sam said, smiling and taking a sip of the Joja cola. I took a deep breath.
“Yeah, it would suck if I got sick,” I said, looking at my pancakes to avoid eye contact. I knew if I looked him in the eyes, I would be blushing even more than I already was.
“I don’t mind getting sick too much,” he said. “When I’m sick I don’t have to work,” He laughed at the end.
“Oh, where do you work?” I asked curiously, taking a bite of my pancakes.
“I work at the Joja mart,” he said, and I found myself looking at him frowning.
“I worked at Joja in the city, the jobs there suck,” I responded.
“Really? You must like farming better,” he responded.
“Farming is so much better! It’s a lot of work but it doesn’t suck your soul out like Joja does,” I said, stopping in response to Sam’s laughter. He really had a nice laugh, and it made me happy that I caused it. My cheeks started to warm once more.
“You’re funny, (y/n)!” He said, drinking the last of his cola and handing Gus money for it. “I have to go, so I will talk to you later!” He waved goodbye and walked out of the saloon, and my cheeks were burning from the unexpected compliment.
Once the door closed, Gus said, “so you like Sam, then?”
“Is it really that obvious,” I asked.
“Yes,” Gus and Emily said in unison. I blushed and sighed.
“I really hope Sam can’t tell,” I said, stressfully eating my pancakes.
“He is kind of dense, so you don’t need to worry about that,” Gus said, and I giggled in response.
“That’s a relief,” I said, finishing up the pancakes. “Well, thanks for these! They were delicious.”
“No problem, and they’re on the house today,” He said with a kind smile.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course!” Gus said, taking my plate.
“Thank you so much! Have a good night, Gus, Emily,” I said happily, leaving the Saloon.
I walked home with a clearer head, and a good feeling in my heart.

________________________________________________________________
At dawn, when the sun starts to rise in the sky, the various shades of orange, yellow and pink illuminating the sky, that’s when Pietro used to feel the most peaceful. Of course, that was before they went and discovered the rampage that fueled his baby sister on the run. Before he saw what years of abandonment had done to her.
A few months ago, Pietro would have loved getting up before everyone else and go on his morning run, running faster than the forever circulating cars of New York City, when the city was awakening. He’d sometimes even go as far as the Liberty Statue, so he could admire the lady in the morning light, without the sea of tourists.
But now everything had changed, and he felt that when he woke up and had to force himself out of bed. When he didn’t have the motivation to go around the city, when looking at the rising sun didn’t feel as tranquil as it did before.
He could only think about her, Amalya.
Wondering where she was at this second, what she could be doing, how she was feeling. The overwhelming feeling of helplessness enveloped him once again. Pietro felt useless.
What was he going to become if he couldn’t even look after his own little sister?
He didn’t feel deserving of the Avengers. He felt like all they had done since they rescued him and Wanda from HYDRA was helping them, and all he could do was joke around and make mistakes on missions.
He was startled when he heard the knock on his door. To his surprise his body got up and went to open the door, but it felt as if he was far away from it. Like he was watching his body move from the outside.
Outside the door stood a very concerned Wanda, immediately she entered the room taking Pietro into her arms.
“Piet’ why are you crying ?” her voice was soft and worried, as usual these days.
But Pietro pushed her away to feel his wet cheeks, he hadn’t even realized he was crying until his sister told him so.
He dried his tear-stained cheeks and smiled sadly at the witch. Then, proceeded to shrug, not knowing how to express his feelings out loud, not really wanting to share either.
“You know we’ve told you a thousand times that it is not your fault ! Why do you keep doing this to yourself Pietro it isn’t healthy for you to think all this” Wanda felt she had to check up on everyone’s state daily, at least it prevented her from letting her thoughts wander.
“I can’t help feeling this way you know!” The tears building up in his eyes made him hate himself even more, he wished he could just find his sister in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.
“Well it isn’t easy for any of us right now, but could you try at least? For her?”
“Don’t you think I know that it isn’t easy for you for me or for anyone in this fucking tower ? I know it okay? But none of you abandoned her like I did, so please please Wanda leave me the fuck alone and don’t tell me how to feel.”
The hurt in her brother’s voice wasn’t like any she had ever heard, she wasn’t used to seeing him so torn and hurt, she couldn’t even be mad at him feeling what he felt, she was left speechless.
“Stop getting into my head please Wanda” He had always been annoyed when she searched for something in his head and had somehow found a way to block her out, which he did right away.
He didn’t want her to find out yet, he knew she wasn’t ready.
Not that he was either.
∆ While the Avengers were slowly starting to awaken in the Tower, it was already mid-afternoon in far-east Europe.
On her 10th day of running, Mal woke up startled by a loud knocking on the door. Whoever was behind it did not seem friendly enough for her to open it. A man was bellowing in Russian on the other side, his energy felt angry and annoyed.
Even though the sixteen-year-old girl had nothing to be afraid of, considering the amount of chaos she could bring up in just about three seconds, she didn’t feel safe.
After all, she had broken into a small cottage on the outskirts of a city through the backdoor. She just needed to sleep for a while, rest and eat so she could go on. The adrenaline from the first few days following the escape was slowly starting to dissipate and the heaviness of her fatigued body slowed her down.
Her muscles were tired of all the running, the calves of her feet had started to harden, not used to so much exercise in so uncomfortable shoes. The young girl had had to change clothes often in order to hide her identity from the people on the streets, especially the agents that she could recognize easily and were dispatched in small groups all over the country.
Her disappearance from the facility had caused a real panic over at HYDRA headquarters. A real man-hunt had been put in place, so they could retrieve the girl as soon as possible. In fact, the government had even been informed -not to the extend as knowing that she was a mutant- of her escape.
Upon hearing the very disturbing and worrying news, the authorities had put word on the street of this girl who was wanted by the government. Her image could be seen everywhere, on all medias allowed in Russia they were displaying nearly 24/7 a picture of her face.
As she had no money, she couldn’t buy herself any food, any clothes, anything to allow her to survive.
All she could do was steal or mend, which was rendered difficult for the most part considering every corner she turned, the police was there looking for her.
She doubted most of them knew what she was wanted for. She knew the evil organization wouldn’t ever compromise their mission, their goal. They were a secret.
She was a secret.
But she had escaped, and they had been forced to reveal her identity to the world. Now she most definitely knew that she couldn’t ever return or be found. They would hurt her, for disobeying, for hurting their men, for exposing herself to the world.
As she was slipping out the backdoor once again, the front one flew open and she ran. Cursing herself for waking up so late. Now she was sure the man was going to report forced entry and the authorities could find any kind of stuff belonging to her. From hair to her socks, they would be able to retrace her steps.
Great, now she had to change plans entirely.
The city she had just entered was situated on the Russian border, she was so close but so far. Because a mistake like the one she had just made could cost her everything.
At least, if the man had seen her run he wouldn’t be able to give the same description of her as the one the photo showed. After the four first days, she had been lucky enough to find a DIY-hair dye lotion in a supermarket trash.
She was ashamed of having to search through the garbage to get what she needed, but at the end of the day she didn’t have a lot of options. So now she had somewhat icy blonde bleached hair which made her blend in more in the big crowds of Russian girls. The dye wasn’t all that great though, it had hurt her scalp and even though she had followed the instructions she knew the color wasn’t going to last very long.
The only option she felt like she had was to cross the border before the sun set, today. Because finding shelter for the night would be way harder than it had been, the borders being heavily controlled at all times.
Mal knew she was probably only two kilometers away from Ukraine, which was less than a 30 minutes’ walk. It seemed so easy, too easy. That is why she felt more comfortable waiting for the night to come and the sun to come down, it felt safer. Like the night would hide her away.
After a little time of walking by herself and looking over her shoulder from time to time she entered the space of a small coffeeshop not too far away from the border. She had found some change laying around in the house she had stayed in the previous morning and decided best to wait silently in an unknown shop.
Even with a full plan in head Mal never even thought that she would eventually have to leave the coffee shop. She had stayed there all day, reading magazines and ordering the cheapest thing on the menu with the little money she had found in the house’s cabinets in the morning.
It was now 8pm and she was outside, kicking herself for not thinking that guards would be covering the entire area for the night, being this close to the border had left her with too much hope it had clouded her judgment. She now had to find a way to reach it without bringing any suspicion upon herself.
At least she had managed to go through the whole day unnoticed.
She was glad for the combat boots on her feet, the cold wind harshly wiping her face wouldn’t have been so kind with her extremities. She kept walking, grateful for the busy city she had chosen as a last stop before freedom.
She wondered what that felt like, to truly be free. Not like that feeling she had in the train but truly being able to enjoy a moment, without having someone monitoring you or having to constantly look over your shoulder.
The experiment she had gone through with Hydra’s surgeons and scientists had sadly blurred some of her childhood memories. The face of her parents wasn’t clear enough for her to draw a perfect family picture, but surprisingly enough she could remember the exact conversation her brother and sister had had before abandoning her. Memories like these only fueled her rage to get back at them, her entire life had been about being good enough for them, and she now knew she had sacrificed so many things just to realize they had never cared.
Knowing she couldn’t stay in one place for more than a few minutes without a guard looking at her suspiciously, she decided to keep moving and chose the most direct way to the border, hoping her plan would work.
And so, she walked, her mind still trying to make out the color of her mother’s eyes, and her dad’s voice.
∆ The chaos that was taking place in the Tower was like no other. It didn’t resemble anything that any of them had encountered before. Nothing like one of Tony’s after parties or like a fight between Sam and Pietro. The tower was bustling, the Avengers hurriedly trying to get all of their stuff together so they could be flying as fast as possible.
Thanks to one of Fury’s sources, they had been informed about some of the young girl’s whereabouts. The conclusion made had been that she would try to cross the border tonight or during the following day. So, here they were, changing into gear and getting the jet ready.
“Is everyone ready?” Steve’s voice boomed out throughout the main room, making everyone still their actions and look at him, “We have to leave, now, or else we’ll be coming back empty-handed once more”.
People around him had concentrated faces, even if there wasn’t going to be a fight, nobody was taking this mission lightly. It was important for them to be concentrated, for once no one dared to try and lighten the oppressive and tensed atmosphere, all too preoccupied to try and make a joke.
The lack of response from his teammates would have troubled Steve if he, himself had not been worried about his best friend and the twins. He had tried to get them to stay at the Tower and not go on the mission, unfortunately, all his good intentions were not taken into account when the conservation exploded into an argument.
Of course, the twins had to come. If anyone was going to save their baby sister, it had to be them. Not only did they feel responsible for what had happened to her, but they couldn’t even bear the thought of staying one more day stuck in the Tower with nothing to do and no new information.
Steve had, in the end, stopped trying to persuade them, knowing the discussion would not lead anywhere near a sound decision. He knew they would do anything to get her back and know what happened, but what he feared most was Pietro’s need for revenge. He could see it in his eyes, and feel it in his attitude, Hydra’s touch on his sister was not something that he was willing to just let go. He was afraid that getting her back would never be enough for him.
Another thing on Steve’s mind was Bucky.
The winter soldier had been even more serious than usual. He was always either working out and destroying punching bags or in the lab uselessly trying to be of some help to locate the girl. Steve knew her situation bothered and angered his friend, but he was scared of the consequences participating in such a mission could have on him.
Bucky was a grown man, but another encounter with Hydra was never something he could truly be prepared for. The memories and experience he had with them were still there, and always would be. Steve wondered why his best friend, even with everything he had been through at Hydra’s hands, was still so committed in finding the girl.
Steve was now sitting on the quinjet, still drowning in worry when Natasha sat next to him, snapping him out of his trance like state.
“If you frown any more, even your super-soldier serum won’t be able to prevent the wrinkles you’ll have.” She lightly tapped his shoulders in way that wanted to be comforting.
Steve chuckled, the first time since the news had been delivered.
“I’m worried about them”
“Everyone is” She looked around at every single one of their teammates, “We can’t take another failing in this mission, we’ve worked too much, it’s taken a toll on everybody”
“I know, we’ll find her.”
The rest of the flight was spent in silence. The thick and tensed atmosphere felt almost suffocating but no one dared to talk.
∆ As Mal approached the border, she knew her plan was working when the guards around her were too preoccupied with the crowd forming on the square not too far. No one was looking at her, the distraction she had conceived working like a charm giving her the perfect opportunity to escape and slip through Hydra’s grip. Coming up to the last one of the guards who had stayed behind to keep watch, she extended her hand to give him her fake identity card.
He looked at it intently and asked her why she was going out of the country. She answered and when he looked back down, his eyes widened, and she knew her cover was blown. Panicked, she punched him violently in the throat, the man dropping unconscious on the floor.
Adrenaline pumping through her veins, she ran as fast as she could and when she stopped running, any notion of time she could have had before was lost. Trying to regain her breath she looked around her.
Kneeling in a clearing covered in snow, the only thing surrounding her were trees. Both a blessing and curse she thought, she could hide in the forest, but her footprints were the only ones here, she knew she had made a mistake by choosing to go off the roads. Because her prints would be easily recognizable and the clouds not presenting any sign of snow did nothing to reassure her.
Her head was spinning with the amount of blood rushing to her head because of the running, preventing her from thinking straight and establishing a plan. The exhaustion from the past few days was starting to show its face and she knew that if she didn’t keep moving, she would pass out in the middle of this beautiful clearing.
But before she could even try and define the first step of her plan, she heard the shouts of men behind her.
Head spinning around, she turned and could feel the earth trembling with each soldier’s footstep. Tears of frustration now spilling on her cheeks, she knew she didn’t have time to run, especially now that she had been discovered.
Concentrating, she mustered up all the energy she had left and prepared herself for the battle running towards her. Electricity buzzing through her system, just itching and begging to be let out, she breathed in.
But before she even had the time to exhale, the sound of an engine sounded all around her. The clearing before illuminated by the moon’s soft light was now pitch dark, the aircraft blocking out any of that light.
Mal didn’t panic, she didn’t faint like she thought she would.
She got angry.
Fury flooded her veins and raged through her being like a hurricane upon being surrounded. She was ready to fight, once again, she wouldn’t stop because she was so angry and tired of people trying to take her freedom away from her. She had enough.
She wasn’t going to go down without a fight. They would know just what she was truly made of.
They would understand just how much power she had, because no one would take her liberty again.
And when she the jet finally landed, Mal exhaled, her eyes turning the deepest shade of amethyst.

what is the weather going to be like where you live tomorrow? Ugh. Probably disappointingly hot and humid again.
2. what accent do you have? is it heavy? When I speak English I’m able to with a general American accent because of my education (and colonization, lol ANYWAY) but it’ll still be obvious that it’s not my first language if I go to like the States, because it still has a Filipino element to it. Like for instance I don’t pronounce ‘water’ as ‘wudder’ or ‘wahr’ as I hear most English-speaking people do lolol because doing that when you primarily speak Filipino just sounds phoney. I prefer pronouncing the hard t’s. I don’t like saying I have a Filipino accent either because it’s been stereotyped and mocked so many times in TikToks and other videos, and it’s not how I (and most people my age) speak at all.
3. who lives in your house and what are they doing right now? My immediate family. Nina’s on her laptop presumably working; mom’s making breakfast; dad is watching TV; I couldn’t care less what my brother is doing; and the dogs are napping.
4. is there anything on your mind? Nothing but careers and jobs have been on my mind.
5. what is your favorite accessory? Thin and simple silver necklaces and bracelets. And hoop earrings.
6. what is your favorite genre of music? Indie folk, when it comes down to it. I don’t have a favorite artist or album; I just find the sound most pleasant to listen to.
7. does your best friend live near you? I have to drive to get to their houses but they don’t live dramatically far.
8. When is the last time you fed your pet? What did you feed them? We gave Kimi a portion of the sinigang and kare-kare that we had for dinner. Cooper’s on dog food for now, but I’m thinking if he’ll end up being tired of it like what happened with Kimi – then again Kimi’s an aspin and he was bound to get sick of dog food and prefer human food anyway. I just don’t know if Cooper will be the same. I’ll have to ask my friends who have beagles.
9. what is the last place you kissed someone, if ever? My car.
10. how do you like to express yourself? Comfortably, and with no pressure from anyone. I know I’m supposed to answer this question in a certain way, but I just find it too broad and vague.
11. whose birthday is coming up? Macy’s birthday is today, but Facebook tells me that the nearest birthdays from today are of this girl I used to ride the school bus with and I thinkkkk is now a teacher; and another girl who is in our rival org that I didn’t like at first because she’d always take jabs at my org, but turned out to be a sweetheart when I got to talk with her. I still don’t know if she’s being genuine, but whatever.
12. what song did you last listen to? Something from my driving playlist.
13. do you have a crush on anyone? Yes.
14. what do your favorite pair of shoes look like? White with blue and red stripes.
15. do you own a lot of things in your favorite colors? Yeah my wallet, notebook, pencil case, a couple of my highlighters, a keyboard protector, and a shoulder bag.
16. do you curse a lot? Not so much anymore but I’ll let my tongue loose when I’m with friends who are fine with potty mouths.
17. what city do you live in? what’s the population? I live in a city east to Manila with a population of a little less than 780,000.
18. what time are you going to sleep tonight? Not sure. I took a nap this afternoon so I might sleep a little late, maybe around midnight or at 1ish.
19. what’s your favorite dessert? Macarons, cupcakes, or cheesecake.
20. did you have a role model growing up? No.
21. who is the last person you hugged for a long time? My girlfriend.
22. is there anyone on your mind? My cousin Lei, only because she had asked us to film a short video greeting my paternal grandma a happy birthday and we haven’t started on it yet, oops.
23. what is your perfect meal? The person who took this before me said green curry and now I wanna say curry in general... but I also love nasi goreng with satay. That gets an automatic order from me once I see it on any menu.
24. what are your top five favorite cities? The top 5 that I would love to visit are Bangkok, Chicago, New York City, Istanbul, and Seoul.
25. how did your parents pick your name? They encountered the singer with the same name on TV and decided that they liked the name. My mom simply liked the name Isabelle, so that became my second name.
26. do you want to move out? Yes, but I want it to come from my own pocket. I have friends living in condos for university all fully-funded by their parents for four years and eugh, it just made my eyes roll whenever it got mentioned.
27. what are some things you always have on you? Except when I’m at home, I always have my phone, wallet, car and house keys, and glasses with me.
28. have you taken the sat yet? what’d you get on it? We don’t have that here. Each university/college has their own entrance exam that interested applicants have to take; we don’t have one standardized test that admissions people have to look at. In my case I took three (UPCAT, ACET, USTET) and I passed them all, and I remember doing fairly well on the third. I didn’t bother checking my results for the first two since those are the toughest entrance tests we have anyway and it was enough to pass lol.
29. do you work-out on your free time? Nope.
30. anything you want to get off your chest? Not really.

did you basically waste your life in school, if the world ends in 2012? Well, here we are in 2020. Although, now it really does feel like the end of the world. Anyway, if the world had ended back in 2012 school was all I had done. I graduated community college that year. At least I was doing something then. I can’t say the same for the past few years. :/ do you sing to songs in the car when you are alone? I don’t drive, so I’m never alone in the car. Well, unless I’m waiting in the car while whomever I’m with goes in somewhere. I’ll sing along to songs then or  when in the car with my family.
do you laugh at other people when they are alone in their car singing? It can be funny if I catch someone who’s really into whatever they’re listening and full on jammin’ out haha but it’s all good. Like hell yeah, you go you!
have you every actually written a song? Nope.
the world will end in an hour. what do you do? Well shit. It’s 5 in the morning and everyone in my house is asleep. I’d have to wake everyone up and just hug them and tell them I love them and we can all say whatever we want to say and just be with each other.
ever visited time’s square? No, I’ve never been to New York. I’ve always wanted to go, but now it definitely won’t be for a long time. :(
do you live in a place that is full of snow or only wishful, in winter? It doesn’t snow here. :( I wish it did. ever accidentally sent a text message to the wrong person ABOUT that person? Ahhh thankfully, no.
what makes you relax? The only thing that makes me feel truly relaxed is being near the ocean and watching/listening to the waves crash in and out and feeling that cool ocean breeze. I just zone out and don’t think about anything.  are you one of those camera whores? Definitely not.
what is the longest amount of time that you have gone without sleep? Like 36 or so hours.
are you tired of being alone? I feel like I’ll always be alone in terms of a relationship. I just don’t see me ever finding someone.
ever cried in public? Yeah, but very rarely.
what color eyes does the person you are currently head over heels about have? I’m not currently interested in anyone in that way.
does the weirdest dream you have ever had involve your history teacher? I’m not in school anymore.
who might that be, anyways?
d03z iiT b@hHt3R y3wH d@T ii R0t3 liiK3 diiz? EW, stop. I’ve never seen it that bad, but yeah I remember when people typed like that and it drove me nuts. I don’t see that anymore, though.
how many christmas trees are in your home during the season? One real one and one mini fake one in my room.
do you remember the reason for the season or are you all for the presents? I most definitely remember the reason for the season.
how many trophies do you own? Zero.
have you ever played any sports that involve a ball bigger than a coconut? I never played any sports.
do you still watch cartoons? I still watch Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and Doug sometimes. I’ve also recently been watching The Proud Family.
what name do you think is the prettiest on a girl? Hmm.
do ya know a guy named ben? Some people call him Ben for short, but that’s not his name. It’s not Benjamin either.
ever told your date you were going to the bathroom and actually left? I’ve never been in that situation.
what never fails to put you in a bad mood? I’m just a very moody person.
do you journal/blog any? This is it.
have you ever read any sarah dessen books? Yeah.
what is the first thing that comes to mind when i say green? Christmas trees cause of the question earlier.
most of you said grass, right? how old are you, by the way? Wrong. And I’m 30.
did you know that you hear/see something that relates to a monkey everyday? Uh.
have you ever made a threat that you went through with? I’m not one to make threats.
how many pillows are currently on your bed? Like 7.
do you share a bed with anyone, or is it allll yours? It’s allll mine.
are you scared to be alone after you watch a scary movie? Nah.
are you totally annoyed when taylor swift wins all awards at an award show? I’m not a Taylor Swift fan, but hey that’s good for her and exciting for her fanbase. I do remember when it felt like she won every single award and I’d be like okay can we let someone else get one? :X
do you own any songs that are from limewire? Haha Limewire. No, I definitely don’t. That was back in like the early 2000′s.
have you smacked anyone’s butt today? No.
are you from the north/south/west/east? West coast, baby.
ya live in america, right? I do.
would you ever want to be a celebrity? Noooooooooooo.

When she turned 10, the merchant fell into heavy debt and she, along with the rest of the staff, were let go
= Was taken in by a friend of the merchant’s, who found Kaguya’s appearance exotic and interesting.
The man’s wife was unable to conceive children, so she raised the little girl as her own.
Taught her how to read, write, sing, dance, and play various instruments (koto, piano, shamisen)
The man’s wife passed away when Kaguya was 16, and he sold her off to another merchant.
= Her third owner - who wanted her to call him master - abused his servants - mentally, physically, and verbally.
He only kept her around because of her heritage, and would verbally degrade her for being a half-breed.
She didn’t take any of his shit, and fought back against him the next four years of her life.
= At 20, she was dragged across the ocean and to Limsa Lominsa, where she was sold off to a brothel because the man was tired of her attitude and thought that she could be broken in better in an environment like that.

RP Hooks
The Far East - Kaguya was (presumably) born in over in Hingashi. from what her first “Owner”/”Master” told her - when she was just a child - she had been sold off by her parents to slavers; thus is the reason why she has little memory of them and her home village.
Former Owner/Master - Kaguya was roughly 5 years old when she was first sold off by slavers to her first owner; she has spent the years - up until she was 20 - as a maid for her owners/masters. She’s gone through a handful so...
Customers - Her previous owner had grown bored of her, took her with him on business over seas, and basically sold her to a brothel in LImsa. Because of her unique looks - an Au Ra with Miqo’te features - Kaguya wound up relatively popular there.
Limsa Lominsa - It’s where she currently lives and resides, leaving the brothel on occasion to wander around Limsa and the surrounding areas.
OOC & What I Am {and Not } Looking For
LOOKING FOR:
Friends || She gets lonely, easily, and likes to spend her free time with people she feels she can trust and be friends with. She’s outgoing, and loves meeting people!
Former Owners || Since she was sold as a slave, I would be more than happy to play with someone who was her former owner/master. The Master/Slave dynamic is fun, especially when there’s varying degrees of such.
Customers || She a ho Men or women are more than welcome, since Kaguya doesn’t discriminate against gender. This also includes trans characters.
Plot || Considering she is, more or less, stuck in Limsa unless a customer pays to take her elsewhere in the world, there’s very little I can do plotwise with her. However, she wants to be free from her cage, and not spend the rest of her life chained down. She wants to learn about the past she doesn’t remember, about herself, and I want to flesh out her entire story since I have it all thought up in my head. { spoiler: HER NECKLACE PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN EVERYTHING. }
Future/Possible Love Interests || While I’m don’t do the whole... pre-establishing a romantic relationship thing, especially so given Kaguya’s feelings about herself and relationships - I am always, always up for playing out the slow burn process of seeing how well characters mesh together. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SHIPPING WITH HER please let me know and we can totally see what happens!
NOT LOOKING FOR
ERP/Smut - I’m not interest in writing out the actual details of any sexual encounters Kaguya may find herself in. Also, I’m not interested in it being pointless or without plot; she might be a courtesan, but she isn’t there solely to get someone’s rocks off. I prefer Fade To Black, and writing the aftermath.
[Permanent] Character Death || I have no plans on killing her - or any of my other characters - off permanently so this isn’t on the table, sorry.
OOC
My availability is open at the moment, given I am out of work and looking for a job.
I prefer to roleplay via Discord (message me for it), as I can focus on replies there, but I am not opposed to in-game rp. It’s just a personal preference.
When it comes to roleplay, I have a habit of writing long responses, and go the para-rp route; however, I can adapt to any play style, and match my RP partner relatively easily. I’m just a tl;dr person by nature I’m so sorry.
I’ll write just about anything as long as it isn’t the aforementioned erp/smut, or anything that deals with my characters death; I also won’t write extreme gore, or vore. But I will more than welcome dark themes in roleplay.
Please note that I am a very casual player when it comes to Final Fantasy 14, and that I do not always feel up to roleplaying. My mood fluctuates, and I can go a handful of days without replying ( which is why I prefer Discord for RP ). This does not mean I’m not interested. I AM. I just need to give my brain a break.

FALL/AUTUMN PREFERENCES
i was tagged by @alyblacklist, **waving at aly** Thanks, hon.
rules: bold what you prefer and tag 10 people (whoever, okay?).
1. go apple picking vs go on a hayride
2. scary vs. sweet
3. sweaters vs. boots (while I LOVE boots, I have freakishly thick calves these days and that means less of the tall boots I love fit, meh)
4. socks vs. mittens
5. bonfires vs. football (personally, bonfires, but my girls are cheerleaders and I live in highly flammable So Cal so I go to considerably less bonfires IRL than I do football games
6. trick-or-treating vs. watch scary movies (seriously, cute kids in costumes verses movies where the sew people together or hack them apart? No contest)
9. bake pie vs. bake cookies (I have a super high standard for flaky crust and have never been able to achieve it myself. Cookies are a fast, easy, comfort food and smell for the house, the kids, and the spouse)
10. rain vs. fog (Look, I get the appeal of the sound of rain on the roof when you’re warm and cuddly inside but I ALWAYS seem to have to go out in it and I hate wet feet)
11. black cats vs. owls (I’m allergic to cats but I think they’re adorable so, yeah, tough call)
12. ghosts vs. wizards
13. harry potter vs. halloweentown
14. go hiking vs. sleep in (Is that even really a fall thing? Please. Always sleep in!!!)
15. cinnamon vs. nutmeg (I probably use the former more often but I do love the freshness of nutmeg...especially in eggnog)
16. reading vs. writing (This is so very difficult. I would choose both but I gotta be honest - lately writing has been like chipping onyx out of solid rock with a sliver of metal the size of a toothpick. The ideas are there but this bout of depression has stolen my words. But I’ll beat it...one of these days. Soon, I hope)
17. hot chocolate vs. tea (I drink tea daily because I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Hot chocolate is “as needed for holiday cheer”)
18. live in a cabin in a forest vs. have it be fall 24/7 (none of the above? Fall depresses me mostly. I’m originally from NJ and it took many years to realize I wasn’t bipolar. Instead I have SADs - seasonal affected disorder. On the East coast they hide the sun for fall, winter, and a portion of spring. I enjoy fall out here in So Cal better but they don’t really have the color changes which were the one bright spot in it for me. Instead it’s just more brown. LOL. I guess, I’d choose live in a cabin in a forest but only if it’s for a month or two - like a writer’s retreat. I’m definitely an urban princess)
19. candy apples vs. caramel apples (is this really a contest?)
20. blankets vs. pillows
21. roasted marshmallows vs. roasted chestnuts  (no contest. I WANT to like roasted chestnuts but they taste like charcoal and have the texture of stale nuts. I can not like them no matter how nostalgic the songs make them sound)
22. coffee vs. apple cider (If we’re talking eggnog lattes I’m all over the coffee. cider disagrees with my guts, though there is nothing like fresh cider from apples you picked)
23. red leaves vs. orange leaves
24. braids vs. bows
25. scented candles vs. the smell of fresh baked goods
26. carve pumpkins vs. make pumpkin pie
27. pumpkin spice lattes vs. chai tea lattes. (From Portos Bakery, omg, it’s holiday happiness in a cup)
28. coats vs. oversized sweaters (this needs a caveat - if I’m on the East Coast visiting family, it’s all about the coat. If I’m spending fall/winter in So Cal, it’s sweaters, scarf, and gloves)
29. beanies vs. berets (oh, yes, please! I LOVE hats!)
30. candy corn vs. peanut butter cups
31. s'mores vs. apple crisp (warmed with a scoop of ice cream, yum)
32. jump in a pile of leaves vs. swing on a tire
33. corn maze vs. haunted house (I have a bad habit of swinging at things that startle or scare me so lets stick to the corn maze, LOL)
34. bob for apples vs. visit a pumpkin patch
35. whipped cream on hot chocolate vs. marshmallows on hot chocolate
Tagging @glorious74 @meetmeatthecoda @strawberry-pills @nanowrimo anyone else who would like to do it (don’t feel obligated)

Chapter 1: The Spread
Day 1:                                                                                                                    It was just a cough. A young woman passing by a child and forgetting to cover her mouth. She didn’t see the countless bacteria she’d spread, she hadn’t known she’d infected others. Her trip to Malaysia had been an innocent one, all she’d wanted to do was care for the innocent there. If only she knew what was inside of her meat.
Day 2:                                                                                                                    5 cases now, spreading across New York. Hands touching bus poles, bodies pushed together on crowded trains, money being passed to the waitress at the local diner. They don’t know. They think it’s just a common cold, it is so much more.
Day 3:                                                                                                                    The Center for Disease Control has been notified 18 cases, 6 dead. They have no idea what they’re working with. They’ve never seen anything like it. It’s a cross between Swine Flu and Bird Flu, with violent symptoms.
Day 5:                                                                                                                It’s spreading like wildfire. One uncovered sneeze in a movie theatre and the entire movie-goers are sick. A mother goes home to tuck her child to bed. She forgot to wash her hands before touching him. Not that it would have helped any. Her head spins violently, her mouth is dry, vision blurry. The Doctor has said it was just a cold. Just a cold.
Day 8:                                                                                                               They don’t want to alarm the masses. 48 cases in New York. 12 in Massachusetts. 10 in Washington. It is spreading like wildfire. And there is no cure. They can’t figure out who patient sub-zero was, they do not know of her travel to Malaysia. They do not know of the infected meat she ate. They do not know that she went home to kiss her mother on the forehead. She died 2 days after infection, without a trace to her there may be no hope.
Day 12:                                                                                                             They must tell the people. New York is suffering. Massachusetts is close behind. The larger the city is populated the easier infection spreads. No one thinks to wipe down subway seats before they sit, or to wear gloves when they touch things others have encountered. They had conditioned them to not be afraid. Now they should be.
Day 20:                                                                                                           Mass Hysteria. Doctors are fleeing their jobs. How can they work without a cure? It has spread past the East but, yet they haven’t shut down travelling. They consider quarantining New York, they don’t for now. People wear Masks outside, but it isn’t enough. Now is not a time to be brave. Stay in your homes and pray for the best.
Day 30, Hour 12:                                                                                              Eddie Kaspbrak sits in his Derry home watching the new reports of the fast spreading virus. His friends had always teased him about his obsessively clean and hygienic quirks. Now look where they were. A virus with no cure, airborne, and extremely deadly. All you had to do to contract it was touch what the infected came in contact with. Chance of survival from the illness was low at least until they could come up with a cure. But in 30 days New York State and Massachusetts had already been placed under quarantine, no one in or out. They’d thought it would prohibit the spread of the infection but they were wrong. Eddie knew Maine was 7 hours away from New York and 4 hours away from Massachusetts, but those numbers seemed so small. Already 1 person had fallen ill in Derry though rumors told it was just a chest cold. Isn’t that what all the infected had thought? Just a cold.
Day 30, Hour 14:                                                                                               Your father, ever the stubborn man, did not take heed of the virus warnings. He still traveled the days to work. It was not until Day 20 of the spread that anyone noticed his lethargic behavior. Your mother had locked him away in their room to try and contain the illness. She tried to tell your sister and yourself that it was nothing to worry about. 4 days later they were both dead, rotting away in their rooms as you held your younger sister to you while she cried. Your aunt had come to retrieve you and now you were being sterilized in the basement of her house in Derry, Maine. You understood why the precautions she took were necessary. She didn’t want to risk infecting her 3-month-old child and husband. She took you in out of courtesy, not because she wanted nor needed too. Your sister was just 10 years old, her child-like brain unable to understand what was going on. She didn’t see the dangers of contact and would whimper when denied hugs from her extended family. You too missed the embrace of another human beside her, but you had learned to accept what you were given.
“This can’t get much worse.” You spoke aloud, your sister was snoring soundly beside you. You didn’t know how wrong you were.
Day 45, Hour 17:                                                                                                The Infected now display signs of insanity. They run rampant in the streets, with a fervor you’d only seen in movies. They foamed at the mouth, clawed at their eyes, and attacked anyone in sight. This was the last stage of the illness, the only thing to follow was death. You listened on as your aunt cried softly.
“Even if you don’t believe in a God, I suggest you pray.” The spokesman said. “The illness has once again developed just out of reach in time for our doctors to find a cure.” His face was red and blotchy, and you wondered if he would be the next to fall ill. “The sick are now experiencing Walking Dead like symptoms. If you come into contact with one,” he paused taking in a large breath, “well may God help you. May God help us all.” He signed out then and the only sounds left in the house were the cries of your aunt.
“(Y/N)?” You looked down at your sister taking in her large eyes.
“Yes baby?”
“Am I going to die?” You didn’t respond because you didn’t know how too. “Are you?” You looked away from her to the TV, watching as the ill roamed the streets in anger. Some sat banging their heads on the concrete, others chased passerby. The world was in chaos. The sickness, still had failed to reach Derry but you knew peace didn’t last.
“No Sully.” You said with strength because you knew you meant those words. “Neither of us is going to die.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
Day 50, Hour 20:                                                                                            “Have you seen the hot new girl next door?” Richie was squinting through the blinds in Eddie’s room. Pretending as though he was oblivious to the chaos outside. He was 18, but in the heat of the everything he felt 100.
“No.” Eddie responded blandly. Unlike Richie he couldn’t ignore the death counts, and the ill roaming around like zombies. He hardly wanted Richie at his home and breathing the same air as him, there was no way to insure he didn’t carry the virus. “I’ve been busy studying.”
“For what? Schools been out for 3 weeks.”
“I still need an education Tozier.”
“What you need is to ease up and get some fresh air.”
“Yes, because I am so keen on getting ill and then attacking my mother in a frenzy of neurological madness.” Richie rolled his eyes, accustomed to his best friends tiring sarcastic commentary.
“She moved here like a little less than 3 weeks ago.” This caught Eddie’s attention. He put down his Trigonometry textbook and faced where Richie was playing peeping tom from the window.
“She has a little sister too.”
“Moved here?” Eddie mumbled under his breath. “From where?”
“Washington, D.C.” Richie turned away from the window and watched as the wheels of panic turned inside of Eddie’s head.
“How long ago?” He didn’t want to think too much about it, there was a chance he was just overreacting. There was also a chance he wasn’t.
“I said a little under 3 weeks ago.”
“What day was that?”
“Um, if I remember I saw the car pull up on the March 27th.” Richie was trying to play it off, but he knew that was the day you had moved in. Since the spread of the virus, and the shutdown of the school he’d had nothing to do but watch life pass him by. He had been doing just that when he saw your aunt’s car come back into town. “Why?”
“Washington was quarantined on the 1st of April. She came here from an infected zone. She’s going to get us all killed.” Eddie had begun to pace the room frantically. There had been a scare once before that Derry had contracted the illness but if someone was here from an infected zone that raised the stakes. “She’s going to run out of that house, come over here, and attack me. She’s going to be foaming at the mouth and crazy and going to completely fucking ruin my chances of survival.”
“Calm the fuck down.” Richie moved away from the window and over to the passing Eddie. He put his hands on his shoulders to try and slow his paced movements. “Think of the plus side in all of this.”
“What plus side?”
“The Losers Club can now become like Zombie fighting bad-asses.”
“What?”
“You know,” Rich took his hands-off Eddie’s shoulders to gesture into the air, “How in every T.V show there’s a group of kids who fights monsters or something. That could be us.”
“This isn’t a fucking T.V show, it’s real life.” Eddie was growing tired of Richie’s look at the Brightside attitude. To him there was no Brightside just infected people roaming the streets, and an illness that had no cure. “And they aren’t zombies.”
“They’re close enough.” Richie smiled at Eddie, he knew his best friend was nervous, but he didn’t see a reason to be. The likelihood of the illness reaching Derry was 0 to none.
Day 51, Hour 20:                                                                                                    They now had a name for the people infected who became mad. They called them Rabid and they were dangerous.
Day 52, Hour 4:                                                                                                   He had just managed to escape the quarantine in Florida, seconds before the barriers had come down he’d drove his car through. He’d heard the sirens following him but after about an hour of chase they’d given up. He wasn’t infected, so it didn’t matter if he left. That’s what he kept telling himself as he drove to what he considered a haven town. He had been raised in Derry, Maine and knew that the infection couldn’t have spread there so quickly. He could lie low here and not have to worry about becoming a Rabid or getting pulverized by one.
Day 54, Hour 14:                                                                                                  He was experiencing dry mouth and blurry vision. He told himself that it was just the nervousness of having escaped with his health. He handed money to the waitress bringing his food, she gave the money to the cashier, and the cashier put it inside of the register. The Cashier went home to hug his wife and kiss his 3-month-old baby on the forehead. He didn’t touch his wife’s nieces in fear that they were infected. He didn’t know that he now carried the virus, that he should be afraid of himself and not the young girls in the basement.
Day 57, Hour 12:                                                                                                 The man who traveled into town looking for haven died, after clawing his eyes out in a fit of rage. He had denied his symptoms for so long that he was capable of spreading the virus in the small town. All it took was a cough, a handshake, a hug, and someone else was infected.
The Waitress had died alone in her house where she had one day hoped to start a family. She hadn’t had much but she was content to build, now she would never have that chance.
Then there had been the Cashier:
“Sully,” You whispered as your aunt began to violently cough. “Come here right now. Cover your mouth.” The Cashier had been your Uncle and though he had shown the symptoms of the illness your aunt refused to believe he was sick.
“But auntie is making us a sandwich.” Your uncle had yet to come out of his room that morning, you’d figured he was dead. Maybe your aunt had killed him when she started to experience signs of madness.
“Sully,” you took a deep breath as you watched your aunt slowly slamming the knife onto the cutting board, “I said now.” Your sister saw the panic in your eyes and scrambled over to your side. “Walk to the front door and run to the neighbor’s house when I tell you to.” She was staring at your aunt as she cackled to herself the madness settling in her bones. Her head was tilting side to side threateningly, her eyes leaking blood as she coughed. “Don’t take your hand from your mouth no matter what.”
“(Y/N)?” Your sister whimpered as she started walking to the front door her eyes never leaving her aunt.
“You did this.” Her voice was hoarse and tired as she waves the knife in the air in front of her face. “You brought this illness here.” She turned to you smiling with her teeth blood stained. She coughed blood spewing from her mouth. You instinctively put your hand over your face inhaling short breaths.  “Come give auntie – “she struggled to speak the blood gurgling in her mouth, so instead of finishing she lunged towards you.
“Go, Sully! Now!” You listened as your sister’s footsteps took off from behind you. Your aunt had given up the ability to speak and was now just making wet sounds from her throat. You pulled your sleeves over your hands grabbing the nearest chair and throwing it at her. It hit her in the leg, but she wasn’t at all stunned as she took another lunge for you. You stepped away quick enough and grabbed the thing too your left. It was a set of forks and you weren’t very sure they would help but you’d flung them at her regardless. You were very aware of your bodies proximity to hers and became grateful for the fact that she’d been so paranoid that you or your sister carried the illness. Those plastic utensils suddenly seemed like a godsend. The forks hit her in her forehead and did absolutely nothing. She shook her head, reaching out for your foot. You screamed kicking out at her not wanting her to meet your skin.
“(Y/N)!” You didn’t have to turn your head to recognize the voice as your sisters. Your aunts head snapped in the direction of Sully.
“What the fuck Sully, I thought I told you to go!”
“I heard you scream!”
“And that caused you to come back?” You would have taken more time to scold her if your infested aunt hadn’t changed course. Her ears had begun to bleed, and you knew it was only moments before she depleted all her energy and dropped dead, but moments were too long. Since her attention was temporarily distracted from you, you took the opportunity to slip towards the butcher knife she had been making sandwiches with. You should have known something was wrong then, but you wanted to play house and ignore it. No one made turkey sandwiches with a butcher’s knife. Your sister was screaming as your aunt cackled and stared at her. It was if her brain was melting. Pulling down your sleeve over your hand you picked up the knife.
“(Y/N)!” You turned around with the weapon in your hand to see your aunt having cornered Sully. You took a deep breath - which you realized you shouldn’t have done and didn’t have time for – before walking quickly over to your aunt and stabbing her in the shoulder blade. She howled in pain reaching around for the knife in her back. You took her lapse of pain as a chance to escape.
“Go!” You yelled at your sister, “Go, go, go.” You wished you could push her, but you didn’t want to risk infecting her. She glanced once more at your animalistic aunt before turning and running out the door. You followed behind her and with your hands still covered by your sleeves you shut the door and locked. You know her cognition would be to messed up for her to turn the knob to begin with but you wanted to be safe. You stripped your shirt off - it had come into contact with a lot of things that carried the virus - and tossed it to the side. “Walk to the neighbors, don’t touch me.” You said sternly as you moved a couple of paces away from your sister. You were happy she’d come back because it had saved your life, but it had also risked her own. After the death of your mom and dad you weren’t ready to handle another. Sure, the passing of your aunt had been sad, but you’d never had a close relationship with them to begin with. When you reached the neighbors door you shooed your sister away, she took several large steps over.
“Who is it?” Your eyebrows quirked up, you hadn’t expected someone to answer so quickly. The
voice sounded strained and nervous, but it was obviously a boy around your age.
“We need help.” You tried to keep the desperate pleading from your voice. Eddie peaked out of the peep hole, and was mortified by your lack of clothing.
“I don’t sell clothes.”
“No, what the –“ You took a shuddering breath in. You were still overcome with nerves over your aunts Rabidism. When it had first started you weren’t given a chance to let it sink, but now standing here with your thoughts and a boy who wouldn’t open his front door you couldn’t shake the metallic taste of fear. “Please open the door. My little sister is only 10 and she’s afraid and so am I, we have nowhere else to go.” Eddie shifted his weight between his feet. He could see it in your eyes, something terrible had happened over in that house. He didn’t know if he wanted to risk bringing it to his own. “Please.” You tried again as the emotion clogged your throat.
“Oh, for fucks sake.” Eddie whispered to himself before swinging his door open. “Come in.”
“Thank you.” He didn’t look at you as you stepped inside of his living room, a shaking girl behind you. You stood in the center of the small house as your sister sat on a lounging chair and curled into herself. She at once started to cry, and you wished for nothing more than the ability to comfort her. Eddie tossed you a shirt from the bag of clothes he had by the door if he ever needed to make an escape. You caught it gratefully and shifted it over your head. Between your sister’s cries and the way, you stood stiffly, the tension inside of the living room was awkward.
“The illness,” you cleared your throat looking up at the lanky boy before you, “it’s in Derry.”
