I never understood the “they ruined my childhood fav” about the new Star Wars or Disney remakes
Then I saw the Lilo and Stitch is on there (probs for a live action remake) and I just- no. How dare. Is nothing left sacred???!?!?!?
And then I realized…
Also Moana!?!?!?
Do a revamp of the animation at most!! Moana isn’t even old enough for this shit!!! It hasn’t even been a decade!!!!
Good lord fucking money grubbers.
#wga strike#thank goodness#stop the remakes#live action isn’t better#bring back 2D animation#yes I know it’s not gone gone#but ppl are too obsessed with live action#I’ve honestly never gotten the hype#so many of my fav movies and shows are animated#pretty much always have been#have you seen gihbli films#anyways#these money grabber out here fucking the lord#shitpost

Oh my god your the creator of the Howl pegging comic. I remember seeing it dubbed on YouTube and it being the reason I was properly introduced to Gihbli. Thank you so very much, I would have never watched Howl’s moving castle without it!!!

I saw this in my inbox in the middle of class and it literally made me so frikin happy you have no idea ^^///
(Btw, Sorry for responding so late!! I've been a bit overwhelmed recently but im doing a lot better now)
And thankyou!! Your blog is really pretty too! I love the Radio Scilence reference. That's literally like my favorite book rn!! and the dark red theme is just so aesthetic.
Ahhh asdfghjk another owl house fan!!! Whose your favorite character!? And Anne with an E was the best. That one Summer Soirée episode is literally my comfort episode!
Ooh and tyy for the asks ^^
Umm my favorite studio Ghibli film is "When Marnie was There" Its not as popular as some of the others but it's close to my heart. Its such a comfort movie I could literally watch it over and over again. I also loved Kiki's Delivery Service. Spirited away was just an amazing experience and Ponyo was really nice too!!
Ahh Books! Sadly I've been pretty busy recently so tbh I've not really had the time to read many books :(
But I did just finished reading a book rn called "Heaven" by Mieko Kawakami!
The plot is pretty slow until the end but I think but I think it's a beautiful book and definitely worth reading if you get around to it. Beautifully written and Definetly one that makes you think.
Do you have any book recommendations??
- allie<3
#this was so nice 😭#tyyy for the asks <3<3#asks#inbox#goodnight <3#btw you also dont have to respond back to this or anything!!!

Mary and the Witch's Flower (2017) is the first film from Tokyo's Studio Ponoc, an animation house founded by veterans of Studio Gihbli. Ponoc's entry among my best 1001 is The Secret World of Arietty.

🌺 I am going to pick Skye for this one ^W^
Skye has a ton of different tattoos, and she loves all of them. She has a sleeve tattoo of some bats and butterflies (because they're her favorite animals) on her right arm that covers up a few scars on her arm she got when trying to stop the kraang. She also a has a few random little tattoos like some stars and planets on her left forearm, some blue roses to represent leo across her shoulder blades and few little studio gihbli themed tattoos on her left hand.
As for scars? Other than the ones she gets from getting attacked by one of the kraang on her right arm and on her left leg, she has a small eyebrow scar that she got when she was little from roller skating
🌷I am going to pick Marcy for this one ^W^
Marcy, outside of tattoos and piercings, loves doing random little makeup looks with graphic eye liners ect.
She likes to Match earrings and change a few of her piercings out to match her outfits. She doesn’t usually dye her hair but when she does it’s usually a unique color for the season (and of course occasionally dyeing her curls purple for Donnie >:3)

Spirited Away
I have watched Spirited Away a few times since I was small and love this movie. Honestly, one of the reasons for taking this course is this movie. In addition, I recognize that Gihbli works are really impressive both for small kids to adults. This time, I could find other good points of this movie that I did not find when I was a kid.
First, this movie tell us about environmental pollusion issue by human beings. For example, the scene where one of the big river gods visits the Yu-ya (bathhouse) is the most expressive in terms of pollution issues. At first sight, this god looks too dirty and stinky that Yubaba tried to deny entering the house, but because it is too late to do so, she have the guest and have Sen and Rin treat and clean the guest. However, Sen realises that the guest is polluted. In fact, from the guest, there are a lot of human waste out of the guest, and it turns out that the guest is actually a clean and famous river god. This scene effectively shows the social issues that human beings pollute the beautiful nature. In addition, the existence of Haku is also showing this social issue. Haku was initially the god of Kohaku River, but due to the construction, the river got reclaimed, which caused him to work at the bathhouse.
In addition, the process of Sen’s personal growth is also impressive. At first, she just follows her parents, and I got impression that she lives passively. However, since she starts to work for the bathhouse, she gradually live spontaneously. She decides her way of living by herself and persuades others. At last, she supports Bo and the creepy little creature and helps Haku live his own life. This process of her personal growth is really interesting. However, at the very last scene where Sen family walk through the tunnel is really similar with the beginning scene, which seemed as if Sen's self-development which was demonstrated throughout the film, was completely lost. Sen in the last has self-loathing look like her in the beginning scene, so I had a strange sensation.
Through this film, I was able to reaffirm the appeal of Ghibli films and I recognize that Ghibli is amazing.

Jardim do amor, 1951 💙 Esse quadro me lembra bastante a história O Castelo Animado de Diana Wynne Jones . Você pode assistir o filme no Netflix, uma versão em anime, adaptada pelo diretor japonês Hayao Miyazaki. Certeza de que Remédios teria adorado o livro se tivesse lido 🗡 .
