With the school year ending, Ricky was glad to have some activities lined up for the summer months. Between joining Ready Set Clean, and other groups in town, he knew he'd be able to fill up those long summer days with things other than lounging around all the time. For his first event, he was helping clean up some of the classrooms down at the high school as it was almost the end of the year. "Hey Mr. Lattimore, how's it going?" Ricky asked as he approached his all time favorite teacher from high school. One man who made a difference on Ricky as a teenager and had helped him realize he wanted to be a teacher himself.

At this point, it had become increasingly obvious that Levi was a regular at the diner. If it wasn't before his shift or after his shift, he certainly dropped by for at least one meal. He'd never admit to feeling lonely or that being by himself for so long was giving him cabin fever. So, he'd swing by and grab his usual booth and his usual order. "You got any plans for Thanksgiving?"

The Daily Prophet never seemed to sleep and neither did the witch in question. An interview with wizard that had published a book, silly as the content may have been, followed by the picking up of specifically ordered items that had finally been delivered to their respective shops. Diagon Alley was packed, surprisingly full despite all circumstances. Apparently, the holidays could bring out people after all.

After all that the blonde had allowed herself a stint at the Leaky Cauldron, a perfect place to rest and pick up more things that others seemed to carelessly air out into the world. The number of articles written simply due to the idiocy of some people was astonishing. Of course, research. Rita’s thoughts were interrupted by a familiar face. No smirk, simply neutral features as she glanced upon the other. “Last minute present shopping? Doesn’t seem like you at all.” Assumptions, or perhaps just teasing. Her voice never gave away either.

"This place got off lightly, all things considered." X remarks as he looks around at the immediate interior of the diner now that he had stepped inside it. It had been a few days since the storm and the the aftermath of it was still felt and easily seen, especially at Neptune.

He had always preferred the diner.

There was a booth by the window overlooking the parking lot where he had wrote some of the best (and worst) lyrics in his repertoire.

The reason he was there wasn't for food or nostalgia, but to check in with the owner who was also his sponsor and have a conversation he was dreading as much as the one had the Saturday after the Friday before.

"You got a second or are you busy?" He asked Gideon, hoping that he would tell him he was and he would have an easy out. "I can come back if you got shit going on."

When Cricket woke up a little past eleven the morning after the rave, she didn't think it was possible to physically have any more life decisions to regret...

Until she remembered she'd told Gideon she'd be at his truck by eight to help him set up. Fuck, fuck, fuck--

"I'm here! I'm here." Physically, at least, though barely at that. Her head was pounding, remnants of glitter stubbornly clung to her skin; Cricket wasn't even certain her shoes were matching.

(She'd very purposefully avoided looking in the mirror that morning, knowing she wouldn't be too happy with what stared back at her.)

She was already reaching for an apron, sliding it over her head while simultaneously trying to tie back her hair and dodge the other real employees on the way to the hand washing sink. "I'm sorry, I know I'm late--" Or a few hours past it. "What can I do?"

Hopefully it'd be something back of house related. She's not sure Gideon wanted her as the face of his business right then.

Still trying to wrap her mind around the encounter she had with a former teammate who died years ago last night, Emily found herself in line at a local bakery. She was picking at her nails, a nervous tic that has followed her from childhood, as she thought about Hero. They died... and now, suddenly, they were here on the island with her. It made no sense to her and she was almost positive that Hero was a figment of her imagination. It's why she drank so much last night and found herself with a hangover this morning. After popping an aspirin and chugging two bottles of water, she secured herself a coffee and rainbow themed pastry hoping that it would help cure her hangover. Scanning the room, her eyes settled on yet another familiar face; another old teammate of hers who had died years ago. This confirmed it for her. She was, in fact, losing her mind. First Hero and now Gideon? Emily thought she might need to take a few mental health days off work and go see a therapist. She obviously needed to get something off her chest so her mind would stop playing tricks on her. She had made a brief eye contact with her former teammate before she turned around, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Hopefully when she opened them, he'd be gone and Emily wouldn't have to worry about her brain playing tricks on her any longer. Feeling a tap on her shoulder, she turned around becoming face-to-face with Jason. She let out a laugh then shook her head. "No," she said. "There's no way this is happening."

Stubborn, anyone that knew Hestia better would use that word as a primary way to describe the witch in question. And for the most part it was true. There were simply some individuals she chose not to discuss with, or fight, or push back on. No matter the situation. Unless it was an emergency that would take hold. In which case the former Hufflepuff was willing to fight tooth and nail.

"Alright. If you insist. But only one drink. Can't have bleeding dry over drinks of any kind, can we?" Hestia wasn't going to push it. "To what do I owe the luck of that? Something happen?" - @gideonscprewett

"I'd rather you didn't. I don't think I've ever given you a reason to do so, but perhaps you know more than I do." He told his friend, chuckling. He'd always respected her opinion or view on certain matters, knowing how seriously she took her job. "You are and it's an admirable thing." Gideon said in a matter of fact tone, not trying to butter her up but simply sharing his opinion.

"Nonsense. You don't owe me a thing. I'm getting the next round."

It sucks that the Katayanagi Twins have so little characterization. The only good thing about it is that I can come up with headcanon shit like:

Kyle doesn't like Todd. Ken is neutral to bad towards him.

Kyle's English is better than Ken's.

Kyle does the robot programming, Ken does the mechanics.

If you watch the post-SPTO, they're trying to be good people, and they'll be asking "is that what good people do?".

Robot 001 is the wisest of the three robots. Robot 002 is the least. Robot 003 is like Baymax (Big Hero 6), but more deadly and clingy.

Ken will make comments about being the oldest, Kyle will complain "just for 30 seconds!!!". Idiot!!!" On the other hand, Kyle has a scar on his back arm, extending below his shoulder, made by Ken (totally unintentionally), but which he will use against his brother when necessary.

Both are close to Gideon professionally, but only just (the fact that Gideon can't even tell them apart contributed to this).

They came to America as young adults (I like to think they finished college early...), so English is not their strong suit (Kyle has a wider social circle, so better English).

More obvious (to me) but they speak Japanese at home (they used to speak it in public too, but Gideon knows a bit of Japanese and so they were afraid).

They know a lot of people, are known by a lot of people (they're gossips, but only among themselves)

Edit 1: Both are committed to teaching Matthew how to use chopsticks (Matthew is afraid of having his hand chopped off)

I want to write them so badly, but the ideas come when I'm doing the dishes and disappear when I open Word...

EVENT TIMELINE

IC Timeline: Canonically, the snowstorm will suddenly pass through New York on Tuesday, February 1st.

OOC Timeline: Members will have from February 1st through February 8th to post their initial starters around the snowstorm. After 2/8, no new starters can be posted, but writers are free to continue their event thread until it's conclusion. An announcement will be made on both days when the event has started and ended.

EVENT DETAILS

Now that the pairings are announced, members are encouraged to reach out to the mun of their paired partner to plan out what will occur between the characters. Members are free to take liberties with the snowstorm backdrop to create whatever situational atmosphere they'd like - they can be as comedic, lowkey, absurd, mundane, adrenaline-seeking, or subtle as you'd like! If you're interested in more concrete details prior to the weather report on Tuesday, the 2014 Gulf Coast Winter Storm serves as a reference point!

Pairing Threads:

The primary reason behind the event is to encourage character interaction between characters who may not have engaged with each other before. As such, character threads are highly encouraged between the assigned pairing. Members can choose if they'd prefer to have their threads set during the action of the snowstorm (ex. thread of two character chatting while stuck in an ATM vestibule together until the power comes back on) or after the snowstorm (ex. first thread are characters running into each other two days after being stuck together in the ATM vestibule during the snowstorm).

Threads have no set length, neither in writing nor in IC time. The encounter between characters can be as brief as twenty minutes or as long as an overnighter, while threads can be full on multi-paras or simple gif conversations.

Additional Threads:

Members are also free to take advantage of the setting to engage in other snowstorm related threads during this time period, and are not limited to only engaging with their assigned partner. Other plotted threads and open starters are welcome! (ex. after being freed from the ATM vestibule, your character briefly seeks warmth at a nearby grocery store with other patrons, where an open starter may be set - or they return home to their roommate for a closed starter!)

Additionally, members are free to continue non-event threads!

Finally, a worthy opponent. Prince smirks to himself as Gideon racks up the balls, dark brown eyes sweeping over him in appraisal. There's nothing but his confidence to indicate that Gideon is an exceptional pool player, but he could just be as easily bluffing as Prince had over his lack of expertise with his former opponent.

"Now that's fighting talk." Prince grins, barely able to contain his excitement to finally have somebody to challenge him. His former opponent had been too easy to beat. Prince liked a challenge.

"Did you have a fairer stake in mind?" @greengideon

"Far be it from me to stop a grown man from subjecting himself to public humiliation," Gideon concedes with a shrug, taking a moment to check the end of his pool stick before he moves to rack the balls again.

"Do you think that's fair? Your tab is going to be considerably higher than mine is."
