This is probably a major “duhh” moment but what if the the state of ghost Jackie is a representation of where Shauna’s mind is at?

When reminiscing on the good times of their childhood in a safe space Shauna envisions a 13yo Jackie

When with Adam she envisions precrash Jackie, which could be because shes actually seeing Callie but SHE doesn’t know that so that probably wasn’t the first time, and Shauna is probably feeling young again because she’s taking risks.

Also I do wonder if she’s subconsciously remembering a Jackie that’s she associates with actively getting with someone she shouldn’t be whether that be her best friends boyfriend or having an affair

When feeling threatened, particularly related to the wilderness and/or the cold, she sees Jacicle

The only real difference between ghost Jackie and Jackie Jackie being that ghost Jackie is generally mean-spirited in a way I don’t think Jackie could have managed (she quoted a movie as a comeback during their blowout for Pete’s sake), well that and the fact ghost Jackie is a grief-fueled figment of Shauna’s imagination
