1x07 - Once Upon a Time in the Upper West

hi! it's me again c: thanks for the previous ask, so here's another one. I was thinking lately, that us, chair fandom, more concentrated on which effect Chuck has on Blair, and this is pretty obvious: like how his touches (even nonsexual) make her tremble, how he seduces her all the time and she melts, etc. But I really wonder why no one actually talks about how enchanting (read: desirable) Blair is to Chuck. In the show it didn't reach its full potential, as I think. Like we have her 'unsuccessful' attempt to seduce him in s2 and also one from their photograph auction (quite successful 🤭 this time). In the fics it's also kinda the same, everyone explores how B drools over her husband. Rarely it's made vice versa. I'd like to hear your thoughts about Blair's effect on Chuck (as it's not explicit enough as C's on B, unfortunately) and maybe some examples I missed🧡

hi again!! ohh this is such a lovely question tysm 💖💖 I think that blair definitely has the same effect on chuck that he has on her, and he definitely loses focus whenever she's around like he says in 6x01. I think that he's just always so in love with her it shows on his face and he finds her so intoxicating and beautiful and powerful and so sexy and he definitely knows how lucky he is to have her. I also think he's easily seduced by her to the point that she knows she can flirt to try to get what she wants (with varying levels of success) in terms of examples the way he looks at her on stage at victrola in 1x07 is so full of awe and worship. in 3x13 he says he finds her feeling all tingly incredibly arousing (at like 8 in the morning mind u!!) also throughout all of gg, but especially s3, he's a lot softer around blair so she let's him drop his guard and just be himself and accepted and loved which isn't especially seductive but what he needs

I’m still obsessed with the HBOMax Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episode. Like it was OG quality, rivaling the original’s Thanksgiving episode. Everyone ending up at Zoya’s, especially since I don’t know how many of them she would consider her friend but that makes it better. Particularly Max, who I don’t know if she and he ever really had a conversation at this point but his dad and bio mom arriving separately was hilarious.

There were a lot of little moments like when Audrey was avoiding Aki she grabbed Zoya saying “show me a picture of your grandmother” had me rolling.

Speaking of Aki, he felt like more of a full character and like the actor is getting better. He is becoming the himbo he is meant to be. I love when Zoya walked away after finding out he isn’t busy saying “thanks for the invite.” I also love his mom trying to be the best ally she can be. Including when Aki announced in front of everyone including his mom and Audrey’s mom that they were going to fuck Max again. She was so supportive of his threesome, she will definitely be marching in pride wearing all rainbows for her son. (Idc about Obie being mildly homophobic, idc about Obie).

And Audrey’s mom being so chill about it and even teasing Audrey, I love it! Though I was really worried at the end we were going to find out she like walked off the Brooklyn Bridge. Like given her depression, her attempt earlier in the season, and how giddy she was, sometimes when people before deciding to end their life get a high almost. Like where they know all the problems will be gone soon so they feel like Superman.

The David/Nick bomb about David keeping Nick from the delivery room & from seeing the girls mom one last time was not something I ever expected. Like that was really heavy. Julien was rightfully horrified. And it was so somber.

Then Lucy Punch breaks the silence with her news, saying it with the same gravity that the dads did. I love her so much, can we just put Lucy Punch in everything? Please? More of the whole Wolfe clan!

I feel so bad for Beck, but oh my god is that really the time or place? Also the way she keeps calling Julien, Julie is so grating, and I know it’s on purpose.

And then Aki interrupting the engagement news with asking about his dads voice mail. Then Zoya realizing Julian and Obie slept together.

Like omg it was just BAM BAM BAM BAM! They didn’t miss a beat!

Then the Rafa phone call, like yea he did the right thing in the end with quitting and realizing he was wrong but ugh.

Zoya telling Julien that they aren’t friends or sisters or enemies was A+++ acting, it was chilling.

Then Beck drunkenly dropping a bomb on Gossip Girl herself, perfect way to tie up the ending.

#whoever I saw earlier say it’s a travesty we never got to see them on Beth’s neck - this is brio's first ever touch ERASURE! how could you forget the neck yank and gun foreplay!!!
