Under the cut are mostly self-insert doodles of decreasing quality. Again, not much directly tied to Team Fortress 2. Might as well toss these out while I have no access to my puter. Much yapping under the cut and in the tags incoming.
Another self-insert, this time less of a "here's me as a tenth class" and more of a "here's my game experiences translated into the class I would take the place of". The Cleaner. Although I guess they could still be wearing either suit. It doesn't matter that much.
That one Convict's Case taunt with Backup would be extremely funny, because the man would be on the verge of a breakdown (he does not want to go to jail so bad you have no idea). The second image- I owe no explanation. You know what I am. You see the pattern with my favourites.
The duality of the man. Resting face versus "just heard you express interest in religion/Russian folklore" face. He's not that hard to make friends with, when you pull him away from all the explosions.
Some doodles of trying to figure his face out. Unfortunately, the more I stare at him, the more I worry that he looks like A Certain Guy With The Last Name "Kazarin", and the fear of never being original in my life caught up to me.
Don't look at me, don't perceive me, I refuse to explain any of my actions to you.

This may sound dramatic to some and I don’t know, maybe I am being “too deep” about this but I personally find the “bi girls like nerdy greasy gamer boys” stereotype disturbing considering the level of abuse bisexual women face. Making it a silly little funny stereotype that bisexual women are more likely to date incels and therefore advertising them as an option to these sorts of men greatly sickens me. Especially since it seems to a be a narrative pushed by people who are not bisexual women/fem presenting bisexuals and often only gets perpetuated and joked about by bi women & bi fem presenting individuals when they’ve already been exposed to this idea. I don’t know, I just think it’s very dangerous to push a demographic with high levels of abuse towards men who often tend to be abusers.

Kendall is just not a girl just because he's mentally ill kjhfgjkd. Like, even if we consider him to have feminine qualities or that are culturally associated as such, he's still a guy whether he's a cringe failure or not.

ahem. so i think one of the fundamental root causes of all the arguments i've had with zombiefied fandom loser people on here over the years is that there are large groups of individuals who form these Do What You Like happiness quicksand pits who will fight tooth and nail for people to have fun and exist equally among others in a guilt free, problem free, persecution free echo chamber where they've become addicted to this like slow drip of constant fandom content. so anything they don't like is negative and anyone who doesn't like those things are "antis" and they're happy living and prancing around together just coming off as a bunch of fucking tools bc they would rather live with toxic spores and rot in their communities than have like one serious discussion and have to yank their heads out of the sand for ONE second.
and these types of people will again fundamentally consider the hypothetical of someone being called like OLD or a mean name or insinuating that they "can't have fun in fandom" worse than someone being a predator, exhibiting predatory behaviour or getting off on content that commodifies people's trauma, exploits personal identity and outright sexualises children and adolescents and MORE. like any real life normal human being would be able to see the difference but they're too genuinely chronically online to be able to tell the difference.
like very recently a couple fandom accounts on twitter were called out for liking absolutely RANCID shit down to grooming and pedophilic fetishisation?, lesbians being noncon'd by men and "liking it", outrightly transphobic trans fetishism porn written by cisgender people for the benefit of OTHER cisgender people, making explicit content about minors INCLUDING artwork that depicts real life children in sexual scenarios (which is literally fucking illegal where i live like as in a 15 year sentence.) and various other pretty typical shit including racist behaviour and the response by the "fandom" wasn't "oh this is bad. we should block these people and condemn their actions because i do not align myself with this at all" it was "guys that was mean!!! let's be nice okay 🥺 this drama is making me upset i just wanna have fun with my friends i don't care if they like these things" and they made a fucking positivity account to parody it 😭 some people were more mad that the callout page was anonymous than they were about the actual content bc they weren't being transparent???. i genuinely don't know what has to go wrong in ur life for u to end up this way but fuck i hope online fandom burns to the ground a03 gets taken offline forever and anyone who even says the word "but it's fiction" gets shot in the head point blank and twitter dies faster

i want to see more asexual, aromantic & aspectrum representation this year during pride month 2024. we've been made to feel like we're not queer at all, and when we are seen as queer, we are pushed to the VERY bottom of the priority list, seen as not as queer as others, or not a priority because we do not suffer from any kind of oppression.
i want to break the silence on this matter this year. even if an aspectrum person isn't affected by any sort of societal oppression, they still deserve to have a space to talk about how they experience their identity. having a complicated relationship or no relationship at all with romantic feelings and relationships in a society that guilt trips people into developing romantic relationships starting in their teens is not in line with our societal view of what is "normal" and "correct". constantly being told that you "haven't found the right one" is harassment.
Not experiencing sexual attraction, refusing to have sex, or having a complicated relationship with sexual feelings is 100% queer and outside of the norm in a sex-obsessed society that guilt and mocks people for not having experienced it, and at the worst of time, forces it on people, telling them that they'll have a changed opinion of they just experienced it for themselves. being guilted or forced into interacting with sexual media or having friends try to force you into sleeping with someone is harassment and assault.
having a complicated relationship with gender that results in someone feeling agender, whether they have no gender at all, or have a gender that feels partially agender and partially another gender often results in someone being told they're confused, or have no idea what they're talking about. many people refuse to acknowledge someone who totally lacks a gender identity, or identifies with gender neutrality.
aplatonic people are frequently told they are losers, or just have anxiety or are experiencing their feelings due to depression or something similar. aplatonic people are told they do not understand their own feelings, when it is a very valid experience to not experience platonic feelings or have a very complicated relationship with them that leads one to feel happier not engaging in those relationships.
these are very real issues aspectrum people face. even if an aspec person doesn't face these problems, they are still queer. they are still aromantic, asexual, agender, aplatonic, or some other like of aspec. you don't get to tell them how they experience their identity, and you don't get to tell them they're not queer or don't experience hardships and denial of their identity. i want to see more people talking about and accepting these identities in 2024. no more pushing aspectrum people to the back, we are here in the front with everyone else, shouting alongside you. we all deserve to be heard- including asexuals, aromantics, agender people, aplatonic people and other aspectrum folks. we are all shouting for our rights together. let's shout for each other, too.

I think what bothers me most about how John is talked about in the fandom is the implication that a different (implied: better) person would've done things differently and somehow more right than he did.
When the text goes to lengths to explore how suddenly coming into an incredible amount of power in a fatally constrained situation cannot lead to a good outcome.
If you're putting John in dialogue with the concept of the "magical girl", which Muir has said he is (a little tongue in cheek, but)--these are young, often profoundly unready people, who often get taken advantage of by the people who give them their powers. And like, yes, John is not a teenager, but I think that's part of the point, is that at no point is a person really prepared to become as powerful as he did--even before he merged with Alecto. Even when he was fully in control of his powers, even when they were given with honest intent and trust, even when he used them with the best of intentions and tried to do the right thing, there was no way for him to be prepared, especially given the situation he was in.
And it's funny to talk about how bad John must be in bed, but also, this isn't a scenario where John is some self-deluding Elon Musk-like villain or loser. He is genuinely trying to do the right thing, in terms of rescuing the Earth's population, rescuing the Earth Herself, and doing it ethically (see: M--'s insistence that they perfect the cryo containers until they could transport pregnant women).
I really do think this is something people are blocking out, because it is one of the uncomfortable parts of Muir's message with the series. But ESPECIALLY because the people "critiquing" him as an embodiment of patriarchy and empire are failing to see that part of Muir's critique is of human vulnerability to power: That is, that power corrupts.
And this even has echoes with Gideon & Harrow's story! Harrow begins the series in a deeply unequal dynamic with Gideon! And she does horrible things, not just because she is traumatized, but because she is traumatized and has the power to act her desires out on Gideon. She might have the motive (trauma), but that's not enough without the means (power).
And, yeah, I do have a semi-salty angle on this because people are frequently loath to think critically not just about axes of oppression but individual relationships of power when it applies to them and to people they like. ESPECIALLY when there is a very vocal segment of the fandom that is enthusiastically pro-harassment. It's very convenient to villainize John and actively dis-identify with him, because otherwise, you'd have to face the question of whether you'd do any better in his place. But the thing is, the mission of revenge he embarks on is a lot closer to many peoples' hearts than they'd like to consider.
That's the whole point.
