Lighthouse in the middle of SF Bay has opening for new keepers

The tl;dr is that a nonprofit runs this lil lighthouse and brings in new keepers (ideally a couple) every 2 years to run the small inn there. Naturally my first thought was:

FIC PROMPT! FIC PROMPT!

#no phone or internet #there's 5 rooms at the inn and your own housing and health insurance are part of the package #there's so much possibility here #like-- a couple applies then breaks up right before hearing that they're in the running for the position #so they decide to grit their teeth and PRETEND bc it'll give them both a chance to save a lot/pay down debt #(reader they DO fall back in love but it takes a while)#orrrrr #a pair of friends who fake a relationship #and then get a little too into falling and fall in love #only to find after 2 blissful years that actually you don't need to be a ~couple~ per se #but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they're together now and better for it #(and yeah maybe one of them actually considered this possibility but. well.)#idk i just love it

Also I gotta say, like, for a game that has the fact that you can romance as many people as you want as a selling point, S6 definitely missed the opportunity to give you an established couple you could woo jointly. Like yeah you kinda get it with Kenyatta and Nai'o, but imagine the bisexual chaos inherent if Leta Pavel was still alive and you could romance her and Hodari both?

#palia #I'm not complaining about the storyline with hodari and leta and najuma #it's a heartbreaker for sure but I appreciate the way it's done #and I hope at some point ashura's wife gets a better epitaph than 'oopsie fell off a cliff'#but still #I like to think leta and hodari would be a package deal for romancing if she was still alive

I think i'm at the point where the only bg3 character that I actually dislike is Mizora (used to hate Lae'zel and think Shadowheart and Wyll were boring, have seen the light since)

And even her i think i could come to like if the game actually gave her some proper shit?? Or the community? She sucks and is horrible to a character i really like but then again, so are Cazador and Gortash and i love them

Would probably feel differently if we had Cazador seductively holding Astarion on the main fucking promo poster. Or if we could never properly tell him to fuck off. Or if he found a way to slime himself into the camp and stand right next to Astarion and try to fuck you just to fuck with the camp's relationships. And then never get any real shit for it!!

I love horrible characters because they're horrible but man does there need to be some way for the game to at least acknowledge that! I need Wyll to be able to tell her to fuck off and then stab her or something, something

If Ulysses has a million haters, then I'm one of them. If Ulysses has one hater, then I'm THAT ONE. If Ulysses has no haters, that means I'm dead. If the world is with Ulysses than I’m against the world.

#this is slightly joking but like also not but also like am mixed on Ulysses on many factors #infuriating because i sympathize with his pain but it’s like #he is a well written and fundamentally flawed character whose hypocrisy I found doubly in #black characters I can tell were designed by white people with a semblance of an understanding of activism and bipoc oppression #but not enough for the character to not feel like hand holding for the majority white audience #plus personal grips with the whole twisted hairs thing and reference to slave braiding patterns #Ulysses irks me as a black person on a weird personal level and I can go into debt on why him being black is a big detractor for him to me #like he continues this cycle of distancing himself from his roots before remembering over and over again through his actions #he leave so much in his wake that the courier ends up correcting or helping like in honest hearts and old world blues because he’s self #righteous in a subtle way even to himself that he believes he stand out of his one man rule when he does not play an active hand #saw a post talk about how you choose to continue moving through his story and can leave at any moment and this it is partially your fault #but what of the oath that is set before you and is forced to take that he set up #I do not have to walk it but when I do the steps are not my own but those taken for me #you have to go out of your way to change it which is not something he expects because he’s playing by a story he’s been perpetuating in his #head about you two and the effect one man has when he’s continually been that one man more so than you as many of his actions directly lead #to the one you go through also the irony in the flag he continues to bear being the real reason he has no home #like he reps it when the package is likely enclave and thus use the same symbol #also still can’t get over how anyone could have delivered the package and he tries so hard to act like it was the couriers destiny or fate #when this was the one case of chance and that once man was likely a enclave engineer and how it’s really is never one man #it the process and he’s so annoying about it like he’s a cool character but if you don’t believe in his philosophy or already went through #these ideas cause they are very common talking points in poc especially BIPOC spaces he’s just old hashings and stunted #fallout #fallout new vegas #Ulysses you upset me but I’m like I feel you could be better if you weren’t so incessant #I don’t think I ever want to make a serious post stating this about him just because I’d start yapping and it’d never get finished #ulysses fnv #fnv ulysses #lonesome road

#this is in regards to Amazon going after fan-made Hazbin merch on Etsy #because there really are issues on both sides here #one: if Spindelhorse/BentoBox/Amazon had finalized the merch thing BEFORE the series finished airing #they would have been making BANK because people are CLAMMORING to buy official merch that isn't the shitty Amazon shirts #and popsockets #like let's not even mention the fact that anyone who bought the pre-show package is STILL WAITING ON THEIR PLAYBILLS #but for the fan-merch makers... I feel like some people got too comfortable being able to list merch verbatim #when anyone who makes fan-merch of things like Pokemon/Nintendo IPs/etc #will tell you that 'hey if you want to survive you better break out that thesaurus and start getting creative with your labeling'#don't even get me started on the mishandling of the trading cards...

oh my god i think i may be sick. i had so much planned for this week.

#just a cold but i have tickets for a lotr play on wednesday. do u guys know how long ive been looking forward to that.#also a few bands are playing at this club i like this weekend its like a whole event :(#i had better get better SUPER quick #on top of it i have a package. that has fabric glue in it. now i cant go and get it.#well even if i wasnt sick it would suck to go get it. its only a few km away but the public transport option thats the fastest to get there #wait actually nvm they switched the routes #so id only have to walk like 15 minutes to the stop and then 20 mins to get where i want #and i knoww im lucky to have a good public transport stop 15 mins from me but i also have one like 3 minutes away from me but u cant get to #many places with the two (2) bus routes that use that stop #sorry for complaining even tho i live in a place with real fucking good public transport #leevi talks
