A few Quentin/ Norman Darby sketches I still have no idea how this website works A bit random, but I'm currently working on a project that attempts to make HN2 more story based, if that makes sense. Something me and a lot of other HN fans agree on is that HN2 didn't reach its full potential in terms of story. I played Sally Face recently and had a thought- "What if Hello Neighbor 2 was a 2D point and click story game?" I've already made a ton of concepts and written ideas for the story as well as mechanics. I'm hoping to make the game on Unity, since that seems to be the go- to engine for games like these. I have zero experience with game development and haven't even downloaded Unity yet, but I really wanna start soon. I've half- finished a walking animation for Quentin but still need to make an Idle animation. No stress or deadlines on this project whatsoever, it's just a fun idea I had, but I really am hoping to actually develop it eventually. I might share concept art sometime. A Gershowitz Family

A series of ideas (or leaps in judgement, haha!) in an attempt to connect the books with the game just for fun. Wish me luck.

Long winded explanations and headcanons. Enjoy!

A lot of people have noted how Quentin and Ike look like basically the same person, and it got me thinking about how things could fit together in this scattered story.

Starting from the top, we have Ike. I don't know too much about him, so I'm going off what I do know (Which is. He existed. Was friends with Theo. Then got murdered. Also likes stars for some reason idk.) Also, I kind of have to mess with the timeline a bit because that is in shambles in general thanks to the show... so, in my time like, he was murdered before Aaron was born, but after Quentin and Beatrix were born.

Ike was supposedly around Theo's age, probably being either in the same grade or one above or below. Probably somewhere before Theo married Diane, he had married a ginger woman with frizzy hair (calling her 'Ms. Frizzle' mentally/j). They later had a girl who either had Anophthalmia (born without an eye) or had to get an Enucleation (surgical removal of the eye). And then had a boy that Ike gave one of his middle names to. Sometime later, Ike gets the attention of the Crow Cult and gets murdered in the Golden Apple Park.

His murder jump starts an interest in journalism within his two children, who go on to look into his murder similar to the modern day Inventor's Club. Aka, breaking and entering (mostly the park, I'd think). One of these excursions goes wrong, and Beatrix goes missing for a period. Quentin tells the police it was hide and seek to cover him and his sister's butts (assuming she was still alive). After long enough for the newspaper to coin 'deadly hiding', she is found alive (since she has to be alive for Hello Guest.)

After Beatrix is found, their mother decides to move out of Raven Brooks for their own safety. This is why Quentin and Beatrix are no longer considered 'locals' for Hello Guest and Hello Neighbor 2 when they show back up in Raven Brooks. The rest of the story goes on more or less how it does.

Voila. That's most of it. The rest that goes on is mostly headcanoned from me and I can go on about that later. But I just wanted to throw this out here since I think about it a lot.

Just finished Bad Blood and...

Well, it's definitely a book.

It's not bad—but I won't lie and say it was a masterpiece or something.

How do I put this...

When I was reading, I felt like there was an overarching plot here, something that would make sense and build up eventually.

The problem is... I didn't really feel like caring about it.

Like, the majority of the book is Aaron and the Petersons dancing around two things: Theodore's parents and the incident in Germany (something we know from Missing Pieces, and the reason why they are constantly moving from place to place).

The Peterson family are treated like aliens early in Raven Brooks (nothing you don't know). Aaron tries really hard to "cleanse" his family's name from whatever his grandparents did that left a scar that's still discussed in hushed tones in Raven Brooks.

The problem starts when a lot of chapters exist to say the same thing the previous one did: "Oh, Aaron's grandparents are related to something from way back then. Hm, what could it be?"

There are good things. It definitely expands the Peterson family much better than before. From Nicky's perspective, we were unfolding deeper layers of a complicated family. Now with Aaron, we're unfolding from inside out. Some of the previous cast returns and Lucy actually talks, wow!

I thought the rich family plot was as interesting as it could get, all things considered. It felt appropriate that they actually expanded a little more on the Golden Apple Corporation (speaking of which, that's why the Peterson's came to Raven Brooks in the first place).

Theodore has a friend who's a pretty interesting fella called Ike (I won't bother with his last name). Ike resembled the friend that Nicky would eventually be to Aaron, given how he knew Theodore since they were kids and apparently knew a whole lot more from the past.

After a bunch of chapters, we finally get somewhere: Aaron wants to meet with Ike to show him there was more to the factory fire than what the town thought, hoping that this could make his family seem less than outcasts.

Unfortunately, Ike had a limited amount of screentime budget and got off-screen neg diffed by the forest protectors (at least, this is what the finale implied).

The forest protectors are kind of the main antagonists. Kinda. I mean, so far the only evidence they exist is a weird story from ages ago in Raven Brooks that's spread from mouth-to-mouth across townsfolk. But the finale left an open message that they do, in fact, exist.

But that's all left for book 5.

Overall, Bad Blood is not a bad book, but kinda dragged and a little uninteresting. I hope the next one is better.
