Home grown ingredients made this (extremely simple) dinner DELICIOUS. I had 3 types of #beans from our garden, shelled, in a little glass bowl in my fridge and I was determined to not let them go bad since it was an incredible amount of work to get to that point. We had done meatless the night before so I knew my SO would rather have it that night. So i grabbed some chicken breast from the freezer, chopped it into large chunks, put it in several cups of water in my dutch oven on the stove, chopped up a green onion, a couple large #garlic cloves, a #shallot, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and brought it to a boil. At that point. I threw on my beans as well as an equal amount of yellow split peas (because it was not a lot of beans) and gently boiled an hour. At the end I threw in some #GermanThyme & #PineappleSage from my herb garden and when it cooled I roughly shredded the chicken.
