What I connect with…

Loved the different way Eisenman renders her figures, almost in an expressionist way as a representation of the mental state of the subject. When figures are grouped they sometimes merge which is so symbolic and beautiful. The varying textures also was exciting, as well as her jumping around of mediums. The mix of materials and mediums made it such a captivating exhibition. Best I have seen in a while.

#PlatformAwards recipient avery r. young is Chicago’s Inaugural #PoetLaureate and an award-winning teaching artist. 

 

Featured in anthologies like @CecilMcDonald’s “In The Company of Black” and “The BreakBeat Poets,” avery’s work spans poetry, essays, and music. His work in performance, visual text, and sound design have been featured at @ArtInstituteChi, @MCAChicago, and @AJazzMuseumKC. As co-director of @TheFloatingMuseum, avery contributed to the 2023 @ChicagoArchitectureBiennial, “Cab5, This is a Rehearsal.” Currently, the artist is working on his debut opera “safronia” and play “maim de looter(s).”
