Top 10 Favorite ERB Performances
I love Epic Rap Battles of History. It's no secret, and something that makes these battles so good are the impersonations of the character or person being played. These performances sparked something in my brain, and I wanted to share my top 10 favorite performances in Epic Rap Battles of History.
Honorable Mention 1: Caitlyn Jenner
Oh boy, we're starting controversial. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I actually like the Hulk vs Jenner battle, and to twist the knife more for other ERB fans, I prefer the post-transformation part of the battle. Although I firmly believe Hulk won the battle, I have to give credit to the ERB crew for actually taking the effort in getting a transgender rapper to play Caitlyn. They could have made previous mistakes and had Peter play her, but considering the time that this came out I feel like they took a huge step. I like NoShame's rapping style, and although the criticisms for her last verse are justified, she had some amazing bars, especially her final one. A great performance overall, her issue is that she had a disproportionately long verse in the end.
Honorable Mention 2: Watson
To be quite honest, Watson doesn't do as much damage in the battle as others. He's better than Batman, but I wouldn't rank him above Sherlock or Robin. But come on. He is ADORABLE! I know it's weird to say that about an adult, but from the mannerisms to the goofy smiles, it's just incredibly cute to me. And we did say these were about my favorite performances, and his stood out to me.
10. Mansa Musa
We startin' this list with a bang. I absolutely love Scru Face Jean. His reactions to rap are entertaining as hell to watch and I even named my ERB playlist "Don Demarco Bang Bang" after one of his quotes. I know it didn't originate from him, but I wouldn't have found it without Scru. He did a phenomenal job with this performance, and I don't remember if this is true or not but I'm refusing to believe anything other than that he wrote his verses. What an incredible start to the list.
9. Deadpool
Another shocker for the crowd, but I have never actually seen a Deadpool movie. Or Star Wars. I am so pop culture inept it's crazy, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this. One of my best friends in high school was obsessed with Deadpool as we were growing up, so this battle brings back a lot of nice memories. I think the portrayal of Deadpool being so witty, yet menacing is just so great to me.
8. J. Robert Oppenheimer
I had originally swapped places with Deadpool here, but I had to give Oppenheimer the edge for just hyping me up better than Deadpool does in his battle. I'm a huge fan of the kind of subtle rap that some of the characters do, and Oppy is no exception. The ending and the lead up to both verses are spine chillingly good, and Peter absolutely nailed the performance.
7. Godzilla
Is this cheating? I give our 7th spot to one of our many favorite CGI ERB animals/creatures, Godzilla. I count this as a performance because the crew were using motion capture to film their sequences, so that makes it fair game for this list. I absolutely love this battle, and even though recent news has sort of nullified my favorite bar in the entire battle, Peter's performance of Godzilla earns a spot on this list.
6. Al Capone
This is one of the relatively newer choices I added when I was revising this list, and I would strongly place Capone's performance here. There's something so chilling about the rather gruesome ways you would be found dead and paired with this very sleek mysterious vibe it adds to the performance. Plus, Lloyd tends to add this sort of cinematic flair to the characters he plays, and he did not hold back with Capone.
5. Hilary Clinton (mama a TRUMP behind you 💜)
Of the 4 presidential battles we have, the Clinton vs Trump battle has to be my favorite. It's set up like a political debate where each opponent gets one strong verse each, and while it does get cut off in the end by Abraham Lincoln, the format does not disappoint. I knew we were in for a treat the moment Hilary jumped out of the chair. Hell, I knew we were in for a treat when I realized our Hilary Clinton was being played by none other than the wonderful Kimmy Gatewood, who is also known for her amazing job as Marilyn Monroe in the Cleopatra battle. Clinton had excellent bars, great delivery, and an overall wonderful performance.
4. Darth Vader (vs. Hitler 2)
When I was thinking about this list, originally, I wasn't going to pick a single battle if a combatant had been featured in multiple battles (Hitler, Vader, or Trump) because I wanted to view the overall character's performance. If I stuck to that rule, Vader would not have made the list; he's a cool character, but generally doesn't scratch that itch for me, except in Vader vs. Hitler 2. The way he begins the battle itching to fight, to the weirdly attractive way that Vader removes his helmet just gives me goosebumps, and therefore he had to make the list.
3. David Copperfield
We're getting into intoxicating performances. I would have put Christopher Columbus on this list for similar reasons for the way he enters his battle, but felt he ultimately fumbled in the end. But that gives me more than enough reason to talk about the gorgeous Copperfield impression that Peter does. I feel engulfed by his performance, and my favorite part has to be the "You can look up to me now, I know you like heights" paired with his floating up towards the sky. Bone chilling stuff and it makes my 3rd spot.
2. Hannibal Lecter
I was in second grade around the time ERB began blowing up in 2011, but I never got hardcore into them until around the time I got my job back in 2022. Jack the Ripper vs. Hannibal Lecter was the first battle I had seen in many years, and I fell in love with Lloyd's impression of Hannibal. I was inspired to watch the movie from this battle, and I went as Hannibal last Halloween. All thanks to Lloyd's perfect portrayal of such an interesting character! He's also just really attractive to me too lmao
And finally...
Edgar Allan Poe
God, what an absolutely outstanding performance from Watsky. He killed it as Shakespeare and many others, but his performance as Poe is just amazing. There's this level of energy he brings to the table, and it adds even more flair to his lyrical genius. I'm hyped from the very beginning all the way until his final line, and even though he lost the battle to King, he fought like hell, and it was close in my opinion.

Tell me a song you listen to on repeat and why. I’ll wait patiently over here 🌸
Lol you are a kind anon! Have you ever asked me things in the past?
There's so many but two that always stick out is talking to myself and welcome to the family by George Watsky. I feel most people latch on to songs because of the messages they convey, and im no different. Both of these songs resonate with me on deep levels and in their own way. Also, I'm a sucker for piano and drum heavy tracks. The artist is someone I've met and grew up around the same time and area I did, so it's just another layer of a connection I have to the songs. Honestly, half of my top tens are from watsky, lots of depth in his work.
Thank you for the killer ask ❤️🩹

I'm aware there is doubt
I don't believe in hell, but I believe in my parents' couch
You're gonna get depressed sometimes
You're gonna have weeks where you don't feel like eating
Where gravity is working overtime like it's afraid of getting laid off
And you can barely lift your fork to your mouth
And you are going to have a choice
Do you wanna see this world as ugly, or beautiful?
Wanna know what I think?
Well go fuck yourself! This is my poem
And I think the universe is great
It's like God just chucked a bunch of candy into space
And Earth is a jawbreaker
So it doesn't matter if you've got the biggest mouth
You can't just chew the world up and spit it out
You've gotta savor it
From the grandest to the blandest nook and cranny
Every crooked alley, every mountain, brook, and valley
From Candyland to Cali
That's been stamped by Rand McNally
Ordinary is outstanding!
So don't be impressed by mere miracles
And FYI, looking like a crusty hippy doesn't make you spiritual
You're gonna have to climb through a thorny mess of
Contradictions, underground rivers, and sometimes
What you love the most will cause your biggest problem
Because you know what's awesome?
World peace
And you know what else is awesome?
Catapults
And that's just the goddamn truth
This world is so confusing
But you're gonna be fine
You're gonna be fine

🎶 ✨ When you get this, name 5 songs you actually listen to, then post your answer. Send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers... if you want to! 🎶 ✨
Oh goodness uh, some random ones (more than 5 cuz I'm indecisive) from my driving playlist I listen to fairly often, trying to get some from a few genres, in no particular order:
Señorita- Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello
Sloppy seconds- Watsky
Loose control- Teddy Swims
Murder on the dance floor- Sophie Ellis-Bextor
You need to calm down- Taylor Swift
Willow tree march- Paper kites
Shotgun- George Ezra
Diamonds- Sam smith
Trampoline- SHAED & ZAYN
Flowers- Miley Cyrus
Too sweet- Hozier
Better now- Post Malone
RITMO- Black eyed peas
Way down we go- KALEO
Fallin- Alicia Keys
Feeling good- Michael Buble
That's what I like- Bruno Mars
Holy- Justin Bieber
Beggin- Måneskin
When the darkness comes- JP Cooper
Bad at love- Halsey
Bad guy- Billie Eilish
Warning if you just take this and play it as a playlist you will get musical whiplash repeatedly.
And if you see this and want to play go for it, I'm too socially anxious to bother people lol. @ me if you do it I'm curious!
And because this is the pissing on the poor website, mandatory disclaimer that these songs were not selected for the moral purity of the artists or lyrics, not selected with any demographic or genre in mind, or any other secret hidden meaning, I just scanned through a playlist of songs that slap that I can sing without paying attention to while driving.
