This is a beautiful painting! For anyone wondering about the "G. M." signature this is by George Marston who was the expedition artist for Nimrod as well as on Shackleton's dramatic Endurance shipwreck in the later Imperial Trans Antarctic Expedition.

Apparently Steve Gerber and Frank Miller had their own plans to reboot DC. Steve Gerber would take over Wonder Woman, Frank Miller would take Batman, and they'd share Superman. You know, I hate Frank Miller. But in this one case...god, I wish this had happened. Apparently Steve Gerber wanted to take Superman and Wonder Woman back to their Golden Age styles, ala William Moulton Marston and Jerry Siegel/Joe Shuster. And I would have read that eagerly. But no. Instead George Perez and John Byrne got control. And neither of them had the talent of Steve Gerber, in my personal opinion. So there's one massive missed opportunity of history.

Honestly, Steve Gerber probably could have pulled off Batman too. Considering his really nice deconstruction of batman with Nighthawk when he wrote The Defenders, I can only imagine what he could have done with the real character.

My main takeaway from reading Wonder Woman comics from Marston to Perez to Jimenez to Rucka, is that the heart of the franchise is the mother-daughter story of Hippolyta and Diana. The mother who has seen and experienced the worst of humanity and wants to shield her people and especially her only daughter from it and the daughter who wants to go out and explore the world and use her powers to make a difference.

Steve is the catalyst for Diana leaving the island but in nearly every era, the relationship has fizzled out and dragging it out has only been detrimental to Diana and her supporting cast.

Making Diana/Steve central to the franchise and making Zeus Diana's father undermines the core relationship of the franchise.

Yuumori Role Reversal AU: #2

So, I have talk about the trio roles being switch, now let's talk about the gang and it will be Sherlock's gang.

Mrs. Hudson might still be a landlady but for the Holmes, especially Sherlock and John, since they might need a place to stay or need to meet with the client in London or around Baker Street 221B. Mrs. Hudson knows the Holmes brothers are the Lord of Crime and John is their accomplice, infact she also side with them.

There's more I want to include in Mrs. Hudson, like how she met Sherlock and the others, why she side with them and more but for now, I want to describe what her role in my Role Reversal AU.

Lestrade is an spy in Scotland Yard for Sherlock. Even if he is a spy in Scotland Yard, Paterson seems to keep a good eye on him. The reason for that, because of an "accident" of Lestrade went missing... And now, here he is, came back as if nothing happens.

Wiggins, leader of the Baker Street Irregulars, a very mature kid and took care of his group also work for Sherlock. Though he and the Baker Street Irregulars are usually making sure around their area are in good condition, so consider them as vigilant. As for why the Baker Street Irregulars work for Sherlock, they are the victims of one of the Nobles who kidnapped the children that are homeless or an orphan. Sherlock just assured them their safety only if they would want to work with him as his Intel.

They can send an information they gathered to Mrs. Hudson or Mycroft. So, they felt a huge favor and felt in debt to Sherlock, especially Wiggins.

And now, for Mary, I was thinking she still married John but make it slow-burn. I think she stay with Mrs. Hudson and helps her with chores and give a rent to her for her stay. She also side with Sherlock and sometimes took John's place to accompany him to meet the client or have to do one of the stage.

Also another thing that Marston put into the character that Perez purposefully took out was the Greco-Roman things instead of just Ancient Greece things.

She was supposed to fight Mars, not Ares. Which emphasizes that he's a different god and an antagonist to someone like Aphrodite and more inline with the particular god that Diana would be against with all she represents.

Those elements were really important for aesthetic and cultural reasons and he took them out which he ofc should not have done that but he was more interested in creating his own character

It fell to Prince Viserys to make answer. “And my wife, Lady Larra,” he shouted down, “was she a part of this plot too, my lord?” Lord Rowan gave a heavy nod. “She was,” he said. “And what of me?” asked the prince. “Aye, you as well,” his lordship answered dully…an answer that seemed to surprise Marston Waters, whilst greatly displeasing Lord George Graceford. “And Gaemon Palehair, ’twas he who put the poison in the tart, I’ll venture,” Viserys went on glibly. “If it please my prince,” mumbled Thaddeus Rowan. Whereupon the prince turned to the king his brother and said, “Gaemon was as guilty as the rest of us…of nothing,” and the dwarf Mushroom called down, “Lord Rowan, was it you who poisoned King Viserys?” To which the old Hand nodded, saying, “It was, my lord. I do confess it.” The king’s face grew hard. “Ser Marston,” he said, “this man is my Hand and innocent of treason. The traitors here are those who tortured him to bring forth this false confession. Seize the Lord Confessor, if you love your king…else I will know that you are as false as he is.” His words rang across the inner ward, and in that moment, the broken boy Aegon III seemed every inch a king.
