Was talking about this with @transboydororo but. Fake hikaru never knew a yoshiki who wasn’t grieving. Fake hikaru never got to meet a yoshiki who wasn’t hiding an earth shattering loss. The real hikaru is dead, and so is the yoshiki from before. Just as yoshiki is left with his memories of the real hikaru, in contrast to the boy he sees before him, the fake hikaru can only remember the yoshiki from before
