An Old Friend [Closed]
It seemed Cotes Ward had changed considerably since the last time Susie was here. Gone were the koi ponds and cherry blossoms, and in their place were pixies and lush greenery.
But the other sections of Spirale appeared to be more or less unchanged. How curious... If that was the case, would Pandora Cafe still be here today?
It takes Susie a while to get there — her commute would be longer than it was before — but sure enough, the cafe’s still standing, right where she had left it on 625 N. Echo Lane.
The doors chime open, and she’s greeted by a familiar blue atmosphere and the smell of baked goods. She walks through it slowly and takes in her surroundings, as though she’s seeing it for the first time again.
It isn’t long before she’s greeted by someone — it seems the employees are still doing their job — but when she turns to look at them, there’s a spark of recognition that quickly grows into a roaring flame.
“M... M... Mariko?!” she sputters. This can’t be right. What happened to her? “Oh... Oh my goodness... How long was I gone?!” She has to be twice as old as Susie was now!
“I, I mean, um.” She clears her throat. “It’s, uh, great to see you again!” She has to remember Mariko’s still technically her boss. (And it’s not nice to comment on somebody’s age...)

Flat did not have anywhere to go. He was sure by now that he was not in England or Monaco or any other country he’d ever been to. Night was coming, and he had no idea where he should go. Back in the days when his parents still cared about his safety, they’d told him not to stay out after dark. Mages were potent ingredients for magecraft, and the Escardos family of that time hadn’t yet decided to discard its only heir.
He was sure that he could defend himself to an extent, but he was only a child. There were things he couldn’t handle. (Like hunger- he was hungry. So hungry. When had he last eaten? He didn’t have any money.)
He huddled in the doorway of a house to keep out of the cold and forced a smile when someone approached. Did she live here? Would she even be willing to help him? He wasn’t sure.

As luck would have it, the purse Emerald lifted today had something inside with a tracking mechanism, and not a few hours later, the authorities were on her tail. As she gave them the slip, she dug through the purse and started chucking anything that could be electronic into nearby trash bins, never mind the loss in profit. Then Emerald traversed another dozen blocks and ducked into a cafe, thinking she’ll lay low for a while. Inside, she acted like any other customer - standing in line, looking over the menu, and putting on a friendly smile to order.
“Hi there, could I get a cup of...” She trailed off when she recognized the woman behind the counter. Her fake smile slipped. “It’s you.”

It was some time before lunch rush when the bell over the door to Pandora rang. Setsuna stepped inside, the same as ever, and looked around for someone who wasn’t. She spotted the older woman almost instantly, though it was hard to immediately tie her to the young Mariko Setsuna knew well.
She shone a smile on Mariko even as her mind worked to accept it. She could hardly look distraught over something Mariko couldn’t change. Was the one so different now comfortable with it, though?
“Are you busy?”

“Good news, everyone!” Everyone, in this case, being the employees of Pandora Cafe. “I’ve taken the liberty of printing business cards for you all. Be sure that you give them to everyone you meet!”
“These are for you, Ms. Oliveira. Thank you for looking these over for me.” If it weren’t for her, she’d honestly doubt that this whole group would be here today. @gentlelxllaby
“For you, Ms. Heartfilia. I hope this job is able to be a dream come true!” Almost like a... fairy tale? Alright, she may be pushing it there. @spiritgates
“Here are your cards, Mr. Anchors. Will Gyoro and Ururun need their own?” Wait. That could mean there’d be two more on payroll. “Actually, I think I think you can divvy these up.” @leafslash
“The printer had an issue with this one, Mr. G, but I had a feeling that you wouldn’t mind.” Coincidentally or not, it matched their complexion. Some might say it’s intentional? @goobuster
The back of each card is identical. They look like this:
“Thank you again for your work at Pandora. Let’s keep both our spirits and numbers afloat!”

Lothric drops a car on some shades, from the car pile he stocked beforehand. It’s not the first time he’s dropped that car on something, and fluids leak out of it. When Lorian sends a swath of flames towards another shade from his sword, across the debris, flames shoot up in the spot where the car wreckage lies (that’s going to leave quite a mark on the lawn).
Lothric startles and makes a little shriek. Lorian’s eyes go wide in appreciation and admiration. They could have learned so much more about cars if they’d only thought to crack one open, Lorian thinks. He’s satisfied, now, that cars don’t run on magic. Something inside burns, and that powers a contraption that turns the wheels. Okay. Okay. The phone might still be magic, but at least this shit makes sense. Now that they Know about cars, he’d better be more careful with his greatsword. More careful, or more creative.
Lothric grumpily teleports what’s left of the car onto another shade, still cross about being startled. He’s at least thankful that the enemies aren’t as thick for the moment. They’re making a lot of noise. The concert hall is on a hill, so it’s very visible as a location.

starter call // @gentlelxllaby
Ignis had gone out for a walk against his better judgement. He really should have stuck to the places he knew well enough, but honestly? How was he supposed to learn more if he remained only in familiar territory? As always, arrogance proved to be Ignis’ downfall. He had wandered out of the sector his home was located within.
With a sigh, he approached a someone who seemed not to be busy--at least he hoped so. She was not walking quickly as if in a hurry and she did not appear to be speaking to anyone.
“Pardon me, but... would you happen to know the way back to the Coates Ward?”

Miu stares at the small tree sapling that she receives after her entry, as she walks around to look for any spot to plant the tree. Traveler’s Garden is...not as crowded in comparison to other places during this festival. However, people are still around, people who are happy to contribute for the good of Earth.
Though, if Miu was asked whether or not she cared about the good of Earth, she would answer that she did not know. She comes here to relax by herself. And then the volunteer gave her this small tree sapling for her to plant anywhere at the area, thanking her for her contribution to save Earth. Thankfully, they did not ask whether or not she actually cared.
She averts her eyes from the small tree on her hand, as she approaches a vacant area for her to plant her tree. Someone is there, busy planting the small tree.
“Um...” Miu asks. “Do you mind if I plant my tree near your tree...?”
@gentlelxllaby has requested a festival starter!

A half broken-down city, weird spirits, and no information --- great. Without a partner that had a better grasp of it than he did, Akira was stuck putting his faith in his feet. No curse forcing him to confront anything meant it wasn’t the worst scenario, but he didn’t have to like it either.
He’d found a couple of static beings so far, the more human-shaped one provoked just by making eye contact. His instincts told him keeping his distance was the best idea, and distracting them worked while he had nothing better. Crouched down near small hunks of concrete probably blasted from the nearby wall, he tossed them in his bag. There were structures still standing he could throw them at to get the heat off his back in a future confrontation.
A woman appeared from around the solid section of the wall, and while he planned to ignore her at first, she didn’t look as freaked out as she should be when the place looked like it’d been bombed. Was she in shock?
“I don’t need all of this,” he said gruffly, tossing one more weirdly shaped fragment of debris in his bag. "You should grab a few yourself.”

▶ He wasn’t the best for conversation, yet people were drawn to him. Maybe it was Guts’ stature, or the way he carried himself? He wasn’t at all sure and just wanted to be left alone.
▶ Moving to avoid others, Guts came in contact with another person. His tall figure essentially knocking the person over. He didn’t notice until they made a noise, and he stepped back a pace.

“Mari...?” She says with a lilt in her voice, the kind that she has when she wants her attention. “Can I have a moment to talk to you, please? There’s something that I’d like to discuss.”

The memories from the past few weeks were strange, but no stranger than many things Flat had experienced. They were a little painful. It made old, stale thoughts and feelings feel a little fresher. That said, eh’d made plenty of wonderful memories of that time too.
For example, he’d promised Mariko that he would go back to visit her. Sure, he wasn’t the Flat she knew anymore, but he wasn’t about to break his promise!
Just like last time, he showed up on her doorstep without warning. This time, however, he knocked on the door, and announced himself with a loud, cheerful voice.
“Hey Ms. M! I came to visit!”

The hospital had a clean and sterile smell to it. Though her injuries weren’t bad thanks to her Aura, Emerald blended in with the rest of the citizens seeking treatment in the aftermath of the battle.
“I lost my Scroll...my phone, I mean. So I don’t exactly have ID on me.” That was a lie. Emerald didn’t want to identify herself and leave a record because she planned to take off before she had to pay for the care.

“How many eclipses has it been since this started. Its as if the moon itself becomes a portal for all this new blood every few days.” he’s a bit cranky because every time he finds a good place to sleep in , the freaking sun becomes blocked by the fake moon.

Maggie sat on the porch of the place she was meant to live in, legs stretched outward, leaning back with her hands to support her weight. She was here, and didn’t have a dime to her name, so any plans of leaving were dead on arrival. All Maggie could do now was to figure out where to go from here. But first --
“Hey. You. Do you smoke?” A question for the ages; if a bloodied up woman at night didn’t scare the other woman off first.
