Genshin thoughts: Teyvat, Time, Isekai, and Us

You know how genshins time runs much faster than ours? Well in isekai, what if we keep out perception of time. What might be merely a blink is genuinely a good portion of a minute with our eyes closed, and our sleeping, eating, and general body/healing cycles are completely off. We sleep on average for just under 18 days. Our wounds wouldnt heal for over 3 hours of their subjective time. Think about the eldritch implications of this.

Of course depending on the AU variation, you’d have to pair this with either the favor of teyvat or some kind of resistance to genshins world otherwise it would be trivially easy to kill us. But in a basic isekai situation we are the definition of an eldritch being. Their timescales are literally blink and you’ll miss it moments to to us. Our lifespan (on average) is 4680 (and change) Teyvatian years (assuming they have the same 365 calendar) aka 1708333 million days (again, and change). Aka. We’re basically what teyvat considers immortal. Point still stands though, we’d be old as fuck and our time perception is far different than an archons (what with them having born into teyvats speedy little day/night cycle)

One year is a little over six days for us. 5 days is 2 hours. Assuming we slept for 8 hours (leaving us very vulnerable), we’d still be able to go non-stop for what is subjectively 40 days for them. We’d literally go for over a month before resting for another half a month (20 days)

Could you imagine their reactions to that kind of cycle? Itd be so interesting, like leeetle ants with an eldritch god who disappears for months at a time only to come back and be super focused for like… a week, two weeks (depending on playtime) lmaooooo

So, thats my random time conversion ramble xD (genshin time is cursed when converted to real time who knew!) oh! And P.S the oldest of the archons (at around/over 7000) are about 116 (or older), while nahidas just under/around 8 and a halfish (8.3 if she’s exactly 500) to us, nahida, scaramouche, and even yae miko (due to them all being 500 or less) would (on average) be younger than us (while older-kinda) due to the time dilation.

Anyways, i did do all this math myself and then realized that someone else on reddit already did it for me xD, more fool me! Have fun with this, and if you write something off of this, tag me! I’d love to see your ideas!

60 ÷ 24 = 2.5

A day here is approximately two months in Teyvat

60 is for every minute in an hour, and since there's 24 hours in Teyvat, if we divide 60 by 24, we'll get 2.5 - aka, 2½ days.

"Something is wrong..."

Wait. No. That's not the word you should be using.

"Something is different..."

These were the thoughts rummaging through your head as you stared at the door to Teyvat on your computer. Everything up to that point had gone smoothly compared to all the previous times you logged on.

This time, however, you noticed that the time it took the game to get ready was noticeably quicker than usual. Like really quickly. Like almost instantaneous.

Like you didn't even have time to check the notifications on your phone. It was as quick as someone snapping their fingers.

"Not that I'm complaining. All the better!" you happily exclaimed, clicking on the screen and opening the door to Teyvat.

Thinking that this loading screen would last around the same time as before, you looked away from the computer towards your phone with the intent of checking on any new notifications that may have popped up. However, the outdoor ambiance of Teyvat quickly traveled to your ears, signaling that the loading screen came and went just as quickly as the one from earlier.

"Again? How?" you questioned, turning your attention back towards your computer screen. "Why is my computer suddenly able t-"

"...What..."

You could immediately tell that you were in Mondstadt given that you were standing in front of the Barbados statue. But that doesn't make any sense. You logged off at Liyue the last time you played Genshin.

"...The..."

Additionally, the plaza looked much more lively than normal. You've never seen more than ten people occupy the area at one time. But this time, it looked like you were standing in the center of a heavily populated city. People were walking, running, praying, and making conversation. But to top it all off...

...They all looked so real that you almost forgot you were playing a video game.

"...Hell?..."

You moved the camera around to view as much of the plaza as you could, but you quickly came to realize something important.

"Wait... Where's my character?"

Given how much time you've spent playing Genshin, you feel a bit embarrassed that you didn't immediately notice the lack of a player character in the bottom center of your screen.

But now is not the time for such feelings! You've got questions to answer.

You tried looking for them in the crowd but found no sign of them. You turned to the left but yielded the same results. You turned to the left aga-.

"HIYA [Y/N]!!!"

"JESUS!!"

The sudden shout jump scares you so badly that you instinctively lurch backward in your chair. The cord from your headphones was pulled off your head from how far you flung your head back. The cord was also responsible for shifting your computer awry.

You quickly leaned forward and brought a hand to the computer to prevent it from falling off your desk. In doing so, you also got a glimpse of what was shown on your computer screen.

Paimon had both her hands over her mouth, suggesting that she was the one who shouted in your face. Her eyes were dilated, looking frantically all around her. The Traveler was frozen in place behind her, their right arm stretched out towards Paimon.

"Uhhhh, [Y/N]?" Paimon quietly spoke up. "Are you okay?"

Given how clearly you heard Paimon from your headphones on the floor, you figured that part of the reason why you got so scared was because of how loud Paimon was.

Grabbing your headphones, you adjusted the volume before putting them back on.

"I'm alright," you assured her. "I just wasn't expecting that."

Your assurance worked as Paimon began smiling again. "Good! Paimon was worried that she accidentally scared you away again."

You softly chuckled. "Given how much I've been through already, it would take a lot more than that to scare me away."

Paimon happily nodded before flying back over to the Traveler. "Hey, [Y/N]," The Traveler greeted. "It's been a while hasn't it?"

"It has." you agree. "What's going on?"

The Traveler's smile grew. "Straight to the point, I see. In that case, I'll let you in on what Paimon and I have been looking into for the past couple of days."

You leaned back in your chair and propped your elbows on the armrests. You guessed that this was going to take a while to explain.

"Remember what I told you before we sent you back to your world?"

You thought back to that moment.

You nodded. "Sure. What do you need me to do?"

"I need you to not come to Teyvat for a little while."

"I know it sounds weird but let me explain," the Traveler emphasized with a hand on their chest. "I'm planning on asking Albedo to see if he can strengthen the connection between our two worlds so that we don't have to communicate like this every time. Not only will it be easier, but I don't have to worry about anything going wrong with the summoning ritual."

You crossed your arms. "So why do I not need to log i-... excuse me, not come to Teyvat? That basically goes against the whole reason you summoned me here in the first place."

"I'm worried that any attempt to cross the gap will either damage or destroy the link we have so far. Additionally, Albedo works best when he's not distracted."

You shrugged your shoulders. "Fair enough. But when do you want me to come back?"

The Traveler switched to a thinking pose. "Give me a week at minimum. If nothing comes out of it, I'll summon you here again."

You nodded. "Okay, sounds good. Is that all?"

"That's all. Are you ready to head back now?"

You nodded again. Aether was quick to call Xiao's name and he arrived just a second later.

"Remember. One week from now." The Traveler reminded.

"I know, I know. I won't forget," you assured.

The Traveler nodded. "I did. You should be able to see a noticeable difference from your previous visit."

"So that's what's happening..." you spoke in awe. "Everything looks so much more lively now! I'm even surprised that the computer I'm using can handle all of this."

"...Computer?" Paimon asked, confused.

"Sorry. It's the name of the device I use to get to Teyvat," you explained.

"Oh, THAT'S what's it called!" Paimon exclaimed. "Interesting..."

You chuckled at her enthusiasm. "Yeah. I wish I could show you all how it works."

"Hopefully we'll be able to in the future," The Traveler butted in. "I'm happy with what we've accomplished so far, but I would be even happier if I could have you in Teyvat by my side constantly like Paimon."

You raised an eyebrow. "Doesn't Paimon literally disappear on the regular?"

"HEY! THAT'S NOT TRUE!"

"Oh wait..."

The Traveler laughed. "You know what I mean, [Y/N]."

"Hmph! You guys can make fun of Paimon all you want, but Paimon's been working on something as well!" She floated closer to you and pointed toward the top of your screen. "Go ahead and click on that button for Paimon, [Y/N]."

She was pointing at the wish button.

"You can see that?"

"Yep! Now Paimon's able to tell just what exactly you're doing at all times!"

"That's what I've been trying to tell you!" Paimon argued. "You should be more grateful. Paimon went through a lot to get those."

You sighed. Truly, Paimon was as unpredictable as ever. "You're right. You're right. Sorry."

I will be honest, I've had this idea in my head for a while. It honestly could be it's own one-shot if I wanted to, but I felt like it would fit better as an epilogue for my main series.

❀ notes: So recently I raised my adventure rank to 16 (I'm at 17 now) and people can now join my world. After my friend discovered this she keeps pestering me to log in to my genshin account so we can fight enemies together. I main Aether while she mains Venti so most of the time we're in Monstadt we would chill together at good hunter which looked like a dinner date. The brain rot immediately hit my head on how the sagau characters would be like with this so here I am writing about it.

VENTI/BARBATOS:

Envy. That was all he felt as he watches the impostor skipping beside you as you possess Aether. The worst part is he couldn't do anything, no matter what he did the arrows would never be able to hit the other Venti. It was like the winds were obeying the other Venti's orders, making sure it never hit the impostor which infuriated him even more. And he can't just run toward the other and strangle them either because his body would suddenly freeze up and force him to stand in a singular place when the both of you are close. When you and the other Venti are not in his peripheral vision he would be able to move again.

His knuckles turn white as he clenches his bow with strength that is enough to snap it into two. You and the impostor are currently in good hunter sitting across each other on a table, the impostor's voice sounded different from his (which was expected since it wasn't the original anyway) but you didn't seem to notice, or at least didn't care about its voice. He hid behind one of the houses as he stalked on the both of you, his pupils dilating as he watches the other Venti feed you radish stew.

'It should've been me' his breathing became more shallow 'it should've been me' his bow snapped into two before disintegrating into dust and manifesting on his back in pristine condition. His nails dig into the flesh of his palm causing it to bleed, his blood starts to form a puddle next to his foot as he continues to watch the two of you laughing and smiling together. While it shows it was Aether smiling and laughing he knows that Aether is under the influence of your emotions. Meaning if Aether is happy, so are you.

He wishes he could just run up to the impostor and rip off its vocal cords so it may never be able to laugh alongside you. He wanted to pummel its face until it was unrecognizable to anyone seeing its corpse. When he saw you and "Venti" walking together while talking he was in shock. How was Venti able to talk to you so normally without him being stuck in one place? Did he find a way to break the code? What he discovered next shocked him before he felt an inkling of fear inside of him. He saw another Venti, but this one seem to be in a trance of anger and jealousy. The blood on his palms stained his fingers and created a puddle below the ground, but he didn't seem to mind as all of his attention was on the Venti spending time with your host Aether. If Venti was over there then....who is the one talking to you?

When the two of you passed by Diluc he stalked from afar to observe you and "Venti" fighting slimes and exterminating hilichurl camps. While observing he imagines the one fighting beside you was him, slashing any enemy going too close to you and saving you when your health bar goes low. Sadly, dreams are just dreams, and somehow this thing was the one doing what he wants. He freezes when "Venti" suddenly shifted to Kaeya when a pyro slime was approaching the both of you.

The sight of his brother fighting alongside you...he feels his scowl deepen. Was it mocking him? It must have known he was stalking the both of you, why else would it shift to Kaeya conveniently after Diluc was done daydreaming of fighting with you? He couldn't stand the sight of Kaeya being with you and quietly left back to Monstadt. Venti

After Venti's performance, in front of the Barbados statue, you offered to buy your bard a drink to celebrate, he was almost too delighted to accept.

Venti and you walked, your arms hooked together, heading towards his favorite tavern. He hummed happily to a song he played Just moments ago, loving every praise that escaped your lips. " I'm truly delighted you liked my performance, I would have played more but the sisters only approved so many" Venti whined, you both  finally reaching the familiar building. "After you Barbados" You said holding the door to Angel share open for him. Venti stood there frozen, the breeze even seized for a moment before he blinked, his still face turning to a smile as he walked into the rustic atmosphere.

" Oh windblume  the only time I want you to call me that is when you're screaming it for me." Venti beamed innocently, his comment far from it. "Screaming it? you're in front of me? Why would I have to scream it to you? ...." Your face went completely red realizing what he meant "VENTI?!"

"Ehe oh now It's venti? Aww but you loved saying your God's name, so why don't you keep going? Don't tell me you're all embarrassed now" Venti's smirk grew, leaning in closer to your face. "Nope I think I'm good! Speaking of I totally forgot I definitely have things to do! please enjoy your drink and I will see you later" You laugh nervously turning on your heels.

" what you're leaving already!? Windblume! Wait" Venti pouted, hugging you from behind before you could leave. "Don't you think you're getting out of it later, I want everyone to hear how devoted you are to Barbados" He whispered in your ear, his breath against your neck, before retracting himself away waving. "Farewell my windblume until we meet again" He bowed, returning to a stool at the bar.

You left a stunned, embarrassed mess. You knew you only had a few more hours until  that god was coming for you.

Xiao

Xiao heard you were setting off for the next part of your journey and agreed to accompany you to the border of Liyue for protection,…definitely not because he wanted to spend more time with you, especially before you leave again. Xiao took care of every enemy in your path, not letting you get your hands dirty for a second, he handled them so swiftly you found no need to stop walking.

The air became thick as you reached the last bit of land, to break the silence you began your goodbyes. Xiao pulled out his polearm, completely jumping over you attacking a group of treasure hoarders who was waiting for you to be alone. 

He left the mob running, removing his mask letting out a sigh, as he stood straight "the rest of the trail should be safe, if you run into trouble all you need do is call me" he spoke turning towards you.  "You really are my hero, Alatus" As soon as the name escapes your lips Xiao stares at you a little bit too long for your comfort, his eyes dilating before you finally decide to break the silence again.

"Are you..um okay?" You tilted your head thinking you might have broken your adeptus. "...yes i'm fine, goodbye." he cleared his throat putting away his polearm walking back towards the inn.

 " Wait Xiao, do you not like it!?" You quickly tail behind, abandoning your sense of adventure, him peaking your interest.

"You may call me whatever you wish" Xiao spoke avoiding eye contact . "Yes general Alatus!" He stiffened his cheeks puffing.

"Keep it down.  use it as you please, but my feelings towards the name are a bit....complicated" xiao huffed. "Oh, alright, I just thought it was really pretty ever since you told me" you said still very clearly following, seeing him stop in his tracks. "You're going the wrong way, aren't you leaving?" he crossed his arms, coming up with a vague idea of what you wanted. Xiao walked closer, laying a soft kiss on your cheek. "You better hurry, I want you to find shelter before dark...stay safe y/n" With those words he disappeared without a trace.

The yaksha watched you from a high tree as you left, his face heating up your voice replaying in his head saying one word. "Alatus."

Scaramoche

Scaramouche and you traveled around Tyvat, he loved wondering with you, you made his world much brighter than how he used to see it. It was only so long before you both took a visit to Inazuma.

Most of the trip he seemed on edge, but as time went on Scaramoche became more comfortable in the scenery he used to reside. So there you were staring at scaramoche in awe, him only more beautiful with the backdrop of the morning trees.

Scara expected evey lavender melon he picked before putting it in the basket for dinner. His face was soft, innocent looking almost."Kunikuzushi" His face tensed hearing the old name that used to belong to him. "what did you just call me?" He cut you off almost immediately before a word could escape his lips."tch Nevermind that He's gone. There's no use in using that name anymore he was naive, weak. Just a waste of existen-"

"Stop talking about him like that!" You yell even shocking yourself before continuing. "H-he was a gentle wanderer who didn't deserve what happened to him.. I just wish he would have obtained his true happiness not sorrow and pain" Scara stared at you in a haze conflicted with his feelings before replying.

" how annoying…do you really believe that…nonsense he has it now so why even pity him. It's just a waste of time and meaningless emotions"

Your eyes lit up from his words " Scara are you admitting you're happy with me?!" you beamed, him on the other hand, was acting nonchalant  crossing his arms." think what you want. I'm bored of this conversation just pick the lavender melons" he said narrowing his eyes, an annoyed sigh escaping his lips.

"Ok ok on it! Oh and I'm glad you're happy now, Kunikuzushi" For a moment you could've sworn you saw the puppet's cheeks grow red before he continued, refusing to look at you. " whatever."

Man, imagine.

Y/N who got inside the Genshin world that's ofc SAGAU CuLT and Impostor AU so basically you're always running.

Then one time, you got killed. One of the insane acolytes getting a clean and swift swish in your neck and successfully beheading you.

Then you die without feeling pain, yay.

But then you wake up and you're in a random place. And you feel the pain now,

But you weren't focused on that, you were more focused on how you become alive again.

"I'm alive... I'M ALIVE??! N-no-! Don't tell me- NO! I can't- I'm not immortal! No- no- I refuse to accept such a curse! No!" You held your body close, weeping about the thought of dying and living after.

Oh how horrible.

And this cycle goes on.

Until that you stopped running. Tired of running. Having a pole arm and arrows struck all over your body. It hurts so much that you can't even feel the pain anymore.

You don't even want to run for your life anymore. When you're just gonna die and live either way.

You let yourself die in their hands again. And you wake up with a heavy ache on the strucked. And in a random place again.

You hugged your body, tears falling down unconsciously.

Why? Why did you have to get this so-called creator's face? Why can't you just die for good?

Unconsciously you spoke it out loud, unaware of the anemo adepti in the tree who was about to attack you but remained frozen.

Oh. How pitiful.

He's eyes darted on you, following your every move, feeling every tear falling down, you look so identical to the creator, too identical. Almost as if you were the creator itself.

He watched as your healed but aching hand reached for a sharp arrow that a hilichurl dropped.

How you gripped it tightly, and how his eyes widened off your move.

Known for his name, he immediately stopped you from injuring yourself.

You could only yell in surprise and fear.

That is, almost, if he didn't put a hand on your mouth to stop you from screaming.

Your eyes widened, is he going to kill you.

Ah, tears fell unconsciously again.

You tried to stop it but failed miserably, now you're a weeping mess. An urge appears in his mind. It keeps flooding his mind.

He leans closer. Opened his mouth.

And licked the tears falling down your (face) cheeks.

Why did it taste so sweet?

He unconsciously muttered "Sweet.."

Your eyes dilate, what the hell did he just do? And sweet?! Tears are supposed to be salty!

He removes his hand in your mouth. Leaned closer and pinned both of your wrists on the tree behind you with one hand.

Gave you a mouth-to-mouth. Well, a kiss. It would seem romantic, if it weren't for the fact he also was a part of the acolytes who tried to kill you, who chased and hunted you down, and if he was actually asking for consent..

The kiss lasted so long, when he finally pulled back you were out of breath and started heavily breathing, craving for air.

Then he goes lower.

-he's a total simp for you and everyone knows.

-lynette literally kicked him out of the house a few times and sent him to your house because he was so annoying like bro would rant about you 24/7 most intesely from midnight to 3/4am until he fell asleep halfway.

-lynette and freminet were tired of it.

-now, if you were to write a love song dedicated to him, and gave him the lyrics first, not singing yet, he would be shocked.

-it was hard to get alone time in the first place because he's clingy af

-eyes wide opened, mouth open, blushing as fuck, you name it.

-after he calmed himself down and told you how good it is (not to mention, he almost started crying on the spot) he would literally get on his knees if he had to just to hear you sing it to him.

-when he convinces you to do so, he might actually shed a tear after you finish. he just can't believe that he's THAT special to you and that you love him that much.

-you would hear him/find him singing that song randomly throughout the day because now it's the best song he's ever known and the only one that gets stuck in his head.

-y'know when you loop a song and it gets boring overtime? well it will never get boring to him.

-his literal breaking point would be if you said that you made more or that you will make more.

-for some reason i write lyney so dramatic and it's canon because i'm rosseland trust me bro

-you wrote the song, sure, but weren't that sure if he would like it.

-it doesn't matter what you thought, it's what will happen.

-you hand him the paper with the lyrics on it and he has a reaction similar to lyney's, but he doesn't look like he was about to break down and cling onto you like a puppy

-he smiled widely after he read it, and you smiled back.

-telling you he likes it and praising you for anything and everything.

-cuddles are a MUST after that.

-he would be blushing for the next few days but it's okay because he's adorable.

-if you decide to sing it to him he will be blushing 10× more.

-tough. a tough choice you'd decide to make knowing him.

-he would be brutally honest and if there was a single mistake that you made you were sure that you'd get lectured for it and it would take a few hours.

-so you risked it.

-you wrote the song, checked for any mistakes in grammar, the way you write your letters, or even the rhyming in the song, and did that like 6 million times.

-you gave him the lyrics to the song and looked for ANY reaction from him, any SIGN that he liked it or disliked it. the only thing you were seeing were his pupils dilating.

-halfway through him reading the song, you spot a mistake in your grammar and tried to interrupt him.

-"oh, kuni, wait, i messed up-" but he swished his hand in front of your face, as a gesture of you NOT to interrupt him.

-the only reaction that you saw by the end of it were his red cheeks.

-he may have turned his head away from you to hide it but you saw it and immediately felt relieved, even if all he said was "it's alright..."

-he's never felt so appreciated and loved in his life so this was something really big for him.

-do it again and he won't be able to hide it much this time.
