For no reason other than I like the sound of my own voice (...sight of my own typed words...?) here's the character dynamics in 18trip that have managed to intrigue me from just the promotional content. Some shippy, some not. In no particular order

Akuta and Kiroku. Oh my gooodddd the sunny one and the gloomy one are friends... No way... And the way Kiroku smiles so softly when he talks about depending on Akuta for support!?!?!? Adorable!?!?!?

These two were simply made for the softest silliest slice of life shipfics. You know in your heart that they should be written walking around town getting ice cream together and having almost-confessions that get interrupted by a seagull stealing Kiroku's ice cream so Akuta tries to chase it down and get the ice cream back.

Renga and Liguang. They seem to have a bit of a rivalry going. Renga in general seems real fun as a character since he's trying so hard to be such a haughty celeb but even in his two minute interview he failed so bad at it, fumbling over his words and struggling to do basic celebrity things (bro you should be able to give some fanservice lol? The high schoolers are beating your ass). Love the bit about how he wants to live up to part ward mayors, he seems like a guy who desperately wants to be more than he is but doesn't know how to. Liguang is said to be the type who sees through facades to discern someone's competence, so there's so doubt that's why he's zeroed in on Renga. Excited to see where that goes--I hope we get Liguang tearing Renga to pieces so that Renga can build himself back up more confidently. That kind of dynamic can be super fun.

Kafka, Yukikaze, and the MC. I love that the MCs have a preexisting relationship with Kafka and Yukikaze. And it's both of them! Because they're siblings! I love that! Kafka can absolutely be a childhood friend for both of them! And obviously Yukikaze would be a cousin to both of them LMAO. (I don't know if we have concrete ages for the MCs, other than the male MC Kaede being older than the female MC Momiji, but I thiiink--just to make the writing smoother between gender choices--they'll probably put both of them in the 21-24 range between Kafka (20) and Yukikaze (25). I'd guess Kaede is 23 and Momiji is 22 bc again, the closer in age they are the more similarly they can be written so it's just for the sake of expedience, but I'm pulling these numbers out of my ass.)

ANYWAYS, ages provisionally established because those few years gain a bit more importance when you deal with characters who knew each other as kids... about the dynamic--Kafka's quotes in his quiz results MAKE this one. He likes the MC lots ("you're my number one, too", "guess I'll have to plan a strategy to become your number one") to the point that he's competitive about it with Yukikaze, their older cousin. Just, ohmygod, sickly little Kafka who cares about his childhood best friends so much, watching them look at their successful pro figure skater older cousin in awe, hoping to god they'll look at him with that much admiration and affection, and when a risky surgery finally saves him and he can get out there and be successful--he'll do anything to get his friends to look up to him the same way he used to look up to them, the way he saw them look up to Yukikaze--IT'S GETTING TO ME. We don't know how Yukikaze feels about any of this, but I kinda suspect it's a one-sided rivalry on Kafka's part lol. We'll see, it could be fun if it's a mutual rivalry for Kaede & Momiji's affection too. Also, mentioning it at the end since I know it squicks a lot of people, but the "cousin as first love" trope prevails in Japanese media, so there's also a reading of this situation wherein Kafka sees Yukikaze as a romantic rival. If this game takes off you will certainly see doujinshi where it's a love triangle lol. Since both siblings are around I like the idea of Kafka having a bisexual crisis because he realizes he's in love with BOTH the Hamasaki siblings, WHAT DOES HE DOOOO!! The more I write about Kafka the more I like him.

Muneuji and Ushio. I mean, I just spent way too much time talking about some childhood friends so I'm certainly not going to ignore the OTHER childhood friends. I like how both of them play around a bit with gendered expectations, with Muneuji looking feminine and speaking softly but wanting to hide his appearance entirely via his interests (space), while Ushio looks and acts like a rough lil delinquent but his main interest is being a patissier and fudanshi. Oh my god they're narrative foils, ykwim. Other than them depending on each other lots, we haven't seen how their dynamic will play out, so I'm interested to see how that goes. Like, does Ushio take Muneuji's helmet quirk in stride? Does he try to make him remove it, or maybe the opposite and will protect him from the fangirl helmet-removal gang to get his helmet back on? Either could be cute! We'll see! Oh, and I'm not sure how to word it, but there's also something I like about how their interests clash--space is, while, space, it's out there, can't get much farther from earth than space, and Muneuji engages with it by hiding himself and separating himself from the world. Sweets on the other hand are very much an in-your-body thing, forcing you to sit down and experience your own senses and be a part of the world. There's something nice that could be done with that contrast. Basically, what I'm saying is that if you wrote a BL about just these two, it could be SO thematically rich.

Toi and Ryui.

Yeah. Also on top of the codependency their theming goes crazy. An angel fortune teller with psychic acuity and a devilish charm-maker who's possessed by a ghost... Bro...

Nanaki and Kuguri. WHAT IS GOING ON BETWEEN THEM THAT NANAKI CALLS HIM KUGU-NII

KUGU-NII?? KUGU-NII?!?!?!?!?!? LIKE ok Nanaki is a musician from a musical family and Kuguri is an accomplished pianist. So it's not hard to imagine how they met. But becoming close enough that Nanaki relies on him and calls him Kugu-nii... Oh my god... I need to know...

Lightning round "character pairs I'm excited see interact but I have either very little or no basis at all for wanting that"

Nagi and anyone. I like Nagi. I like how he makes jokes with a flat affect. I want him to say strange things to people.

Netaro and anyone in day2. He's weird. I want him to interact with the children just for funnies. Especially Muneuji, I wanna see how the space kid and the alien get along.

Kafka and Toi. It's interesting that Kafka likes fortune telling. I won't psychoanalyze him about it again, but I could.

Netaro and Kinari. It's the engineer and the android and I need it. TEAR THAT ROBOT APART! PULL HIS GUTS OPEN AND SEE WHATS INSIDE!!!!!!

Chihiro and Toi. Toi's admiration for Chii is adorable. I wanna see how Chii interacts with a fan.

Chihiro and Ryui. Ryui, you're allowed to kill Chii if you get jealous of how much your brother likes him. I give you permission.

Liguang and Yukikaze. I want Liguang to treat this professional athlete who's older than him like a pet bunny. Who said that

Yodaka and Liguang. I like that they play mahjong together.

Yodaka and Netaro. I think if they talked the conversation would very very quickly leave the realm of the waking world and would simply not be comprehensible to outsiders. But they understand.

And ok eh yeah that's enough for now. Who knows if any of these will end up going how I'm thinking about them, or if more sides to the characters will be revealed that change my assumptions :)

For Hector:

Your character is being offered three wishes by a genie. The usual rules reply. What do they wish for?

A healthy normal heart for Karlach (obviously)

Probably something nice for the monastery that it's been needing, like fixing a big wall that's been broken forever or something like that.

Some kind of cool magical item that gives him and his friends a group chat of some sort even as they start dispersing in the post-game.

7. If your character could have an infinite supply of ONE food, which food would they choose?

Hm. 🤔

I think Hector does not have a particularly adventurous palate. There's exactly zero chance that the monastery where he lived for fifty years was doing exciting culinary things down in the kitchen; this is a man for whom variety was a foreign concept before the nautiloid showed up. We're going to go with a nice venison roast, because it seems something he would likely be familiar with and enjoy.

If this ever comes up as a discussion question in camp, Gale absolutely facepalms aggressively when he says this and starts pointing out much more exotic and interesting meals he could choose, to which Hector is sort of politely puzzled and says, "But I like venison."

9. Your character gets stranded on an island. They can choose one item to have with them. What do they choose?

Hrmdehrm. Something practical, I suspect. A knife, or flint and steel. I don't know exactly how well Hector would do at surviving on his own without the help of anyone around him but he would need all the help he can get.

4. Your character has to give a ten-minute speech on a subject of their choice to a room full of experts. What subject do they choose?

This literally actually happens in game, more or less; you can ask her the best way to kill a demon and she gets really excited and infodumps at you about all the different types. It's adorable and was ABSOLUTELY one of the things that first made Hector fall in love with her.

Hector to Karlach:

So... the answer is demon-hunting, and Hector would listen to the whole thing with the biggest heart-eyes imaginable. XD

10. Your character finds a lost child. What do they do?

Again, we actually sort of get an example of this in-game, when Yenna comes to camp. Karlach is super pleased to help her, offers to play games with her, and is just generally a sweetheart. I think in any similar situation she would do the same; make sure the kid had a safe place to be, as long as necessary, and work to find their parents. She grew up poor and I'm sure knew plenty of street kids in the Outer City, and probably saw the big advantage that she was given by having a safe place and a roof over her head, and she also talks about wishing she'd been able to help with Jaheira's halfway house instead of working for Gortash; I think she'd want to help any way she could for a kid in need.

15. Your character is doing a sponsored challenge to raise money for charity. What kind of challenge do they do?

Something physical, probably. She has an idle animation in camp doing one-armed pushups so maybe something around that. I could also see her doing one of those hot sauce challenges or the like.

Kissing booth would also get a lot of takers and give her lots of long-denied physical contact. XD

2. Your characters have been locked in a room together for 24 hours. It is impossible to escape the room by any means. What happens?

LOL. This sort of depends on the scenario that has put them in the room. It's impossible to escape, but is the confinement for a known reason with a known end time? Do they get out after 24 hours? If so, this is absolutely IMMEDIATELY taken as an excuse for everyone to get some goddamn rest. Jaheira sacks out in one corner, Hector and Karlach snuggle up in another, Minsc and Boo just kind of vibe until the time is up.

If they're just stuck there indefinitely things get a lot more tense. Karlach and Minsc definitely start getting restless at the start of the second day and between them smash a large dent in the wall with brute force. Jaheira and Hector have to divide their time between examining the room and trying to figure out why they're there and how to communicate with anyone outside, and taking turns talking their two pet berserkers repeatedly down off the rage ledge.

11. Your characters are sharing stories around the fire. What story does each character tell? Whose story is the most popular?

Jaheira and Minsc probably do most of the talking here. They have lots of fun stories about traveling with Caden in Amn and before, and Hector (being a history nerd) and Karlach (being a bit hero-worshippy) are both FASCINATED to hear about it. When it's her turn, Karlach avoids talking about the Blood War entirely, even if encouraged, and focuses on telling stories from her childhood in Baldur's Gate. Hector feels a bit foolish because he doesn't feel like anything of story-worthy interest really happened at the monastery for the most part, and sort of avoids the question by making some comment about not being a good storyteller.

17. One of the characters in the group has been replaced by an evil doppelganger. How does the group figure out who it is?

Damn it, Orin! [shakes fist] XD

This was really Hector's nightmare scenario and when it turned out to be the case with Lae'zel it scared the shit out of him. I am pretty sure he and everyone in the camp came up with some secret code words and gestures after that to use for this purpose, things that Orin wouldn't know, in order to verify their identity with each other if there was ever further doubt. I don't think they'd be anything obvious, but something mundane that could be slipped into the conversation without arousing a potential doppelganger's suspicion.

Cannot wait for Kit to absolutely lay into sorsha. Perhaps Sorsha will be one of/the first ones to hear that Kit remembers things? and how maybe if she hadn't been so adamant on keeping her in the image of perfect but spiritually dead for a year she wouldn't feel so lost now?

Bit of a tangent: I know we're all very furious with sorsha (rightfully so! I mean damn!) but I also think her POV is so fascinating and the way it's touched on in the show is fascinating too. There's certainly implied generational maternal trauma. In the show, Sorsha has never had a positive maternal figure and her parenting (and all her decisions as queen) in the show is both well-intentioned but also lead by bone-deep fear as a result. She cages all the children she's responsible for without realizing it: Kit (the marriage, the restrictions), Airk (never encouraging him to expect more), Elora (hiding her away), and even Jade (giving her a home while cutting off her identity). And leading by fear lets you become susceptible to promoting your own self interest for the wrong reasons. The original movie (and also probably the show in future installments) focused on healing a lost maternal/nurturing/compassionate bond in all it's characters.

This fic is quite different and there may not be ample time for a full reconciliation, but I think it's interesting looking at Sorsha's perspective by what I said above, how letting yourself be driven by fear promotes selfish acts even if unintended. Sorsha finally had a relationship with her daughter again that wasn't torturous after being cut off from her for over a year, and was also likely truly terrified of something awful happening to her again. She does want to see kit happy but also doesn't know how to exist in that world (the authentic expression of love when seeing kit cut her hair again proves this) and is scared of the rejection again. This obviously doesn't justify her actions whatsoever, but it's so easy to see how that mindset allowed her to continue to keep kit isolated when doctor's overly cautious suggestions played into her weakness.

Apologies for the long ask! I don't know if we'll see a full reconciliation or if kit will ever forgive her in this fic (she totally doesn't have to) but I'm very excited to see how it all plays out! I hope at the very least sorsha is resigned to acceptance after realizing the extent to which she messed up!

I think this is a really well-thought-out, in-depth analysis of Sorsha and everyone should take the time to read the above. It's super interesting especially in the context of the show.

Regarding Armouriam Sorsha, I've tried to include similar emotional situations to what we get of her in the movie/show. Her maternal trauma is briefly referenced, and we do see her doing what she thinks is best for Kit. We've seen her make selfish decisions for Kit, but we've also seen that she really does love Kit (see: haircut scene)

The real Sorsha showdown will happen in chapter 10, and it's not going to be the full throw-down brawl I think some people are expecting. Though Kit's definitely going to yell.

And though I haven't shared exactly what happened to him yet, we also know that Madmartigan died while Kit was fairly young, leaving Sorsha a single mother with a demanding job and no familial support (or friends, but you'll learn more about that in chapter 11). Kit and Airk are really all she has in life. She lost her husband, she almost lost her daughter, of course she's going to make selfish decisions to keep what she can of her family.

It's how these things go, right? It wouldn't be the first time! While we don't have concrete proof of an assassination plot, we do have a grown-ass woman screaming in the royal halls, on security cameras, "I COULD KILL THAT BRAT!" So, who's to say it won't happen? And I hear you now: 'Gonzie, you're making that up!' Nope, here's the clip!"

IT'LL TURN YOU INTO A PLANT PERSON! And then there's the cow plants! AND WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THE COW PLANTS! I'VE GOT SOMETHING BETTER TO LEAK FROM STRANGERVILLE!

"Okay, so, we don't actually need to find the body of the Fourth Invasion Mother Plant's body to determine who it was. It was from a lady named Laguna Norwood, the adoptive daughter of Maleko McClure. See a pattern, folks?

"What does this mean? What else does it mean? Little infected babies were put through the adoption system to spread out and be Mother Plants all over the world! But do you know what this also means?! It means that ANYONE ADOPTED OVER THE LAST GENERATION IS POSSIBLY AN INFECTED SLEEPER AGENT! And you wanna know who else was adopted? Yep! QUEEN NIFSARA LA CROY! Oh, this does not look good for Her Royal Temper Trantrum-ness, does it?!

"But it doesn't stop with her! There's so many others adopted into the royal family, and most of them came from either the SAME ADOPTION CENTER IN SAN MYSHUNO! OR! From Strangerville! I mean COME ON! Now that I see it, I can't unsee it, and neither should you! But I guess if the royals can't adopt their next generation, we'll just keep inbreeding until we get extremely unhealthy generations, AM I RIGHT? I AIN'T WRONG!

went ahead and watched season 1 of Birdy: DECODE as well! more under the cut.

This is a series I remember watching a few years ago, and so far I think it's held up ok! My thoughts on this one are a little messy, especially since now that I've seen the OVAs, it's a lot tougher to grade on its own.

While the level of detail can be a bit lower, I'm definitely pretty impressed with how this show looks! There's a lot of fun color and a ton of care put into the setting and environments; you can see a certain sense of naturalism dominate the human side of the show and I do think it reaps great rewards. There's a ton of fun organic creativity in the alien side designs as well; Birdy's gadgets and dolphin space ship are prime candidates for new favorites.

That being said the human character models are a little flat and never get toooo expressive or unglamorous; such is the curse of contemporary anime stylings. I like Birdy's new fangies, though, even if I think the rest of her design is a bit of a downgrade. (What if that undercover jacket was part of her base outfit... we could have had it all...)

Something that's definitely a bit odd coming off of the OVAs is how much more Decode is willing to try and directly sexualize Birdy... Between her full body armpit window and anti-grav cleavage in the new design, it does feel like there's a bit of a Cool Barrier missing. Her sportiness, gone! I dunno! She is still a hottie, but there is a definite difference in how the animation and direction show her off at times that I just don't vibe with. YMMV.

While there's parts of the overarching writing that come across as a little boilerplate, I do generally think the story in season 1 is a good time and it's hugely bolstered by its cast and that willingness to put them in new situations. Every mini-arc is fully willing to shake up the setting and context for new shenanigans. It keeps a pace and sense of creativity going, so even if we're working with pure archetype, it gives those archetypes a chance to bounce off each other in a bunch of different ways. Not groundbreaking by any means, but fun, which is vital.

I think giving Birdy a bunch of new Things To Do and personal history is fun; her own, individual human alter ego makes for some cute shenanigans with members of the cast that recognize her, and her differing relationships with members of the greatly expanded galactic council do give her a bit more to chew on, though again, none particularly deep. In general, a lot of the groundwork for Birdy here feels like it's to setup more for her in ongoing seasons (of which there was only one...), so guess we'll see how that pays off.

Action-wise, there's not a ton of protracted fight scenes across the show, instead tending to focus more on super-sleuthing through the varying angles of the thriller at hand. What is there isn't really the most creative in the world, though; Birdy gets grabbed, trades a couple hits, and usually the problem is resolved in a way that does not involve her punching a hole through something/someone. There are some great feats of strength, though, and some solid animation within those action pieces, but it's like. C'mon, let my girl get a win on her own, development arc or sequel material be damned.

I suppose these are the follies of trying to review the first season of something with more in store. So I will see where the dog is going with this! But I did quite enjoy season 1 on its own on rewatch, so I'm excited to barrel into S2 now that it's accessible.

watched Birdy The Mighty (1996 OVA)! this series rules!

it's fairly infrequently I come away from something with no real criticisms but the Birdy OVAs are like, flawless scifi pulp with a cool heroine and striking gimmick.

I feel like something that really sets Birdy apart from its peers is just how committed it is to how /cool/ she is first and foremost. The camera doesn't really ogle her and she's allowed to just be a cool action girl with sweet moves and a skimpy outfit. She's a hottie that is allowed to get a lot of her appeal through her power and attitude, rather than the director pausing a scene to be like "ohhh wardrobe malfunction! ohhh titties!"

Like sure she's pretty, but she also gets to have unflattering angles and goofy expressions and honest to goodness fun in these OVAs! It's so refreshing that she keeps her dignity throughout the entire production. I cannot stress this enough.

Something else is how like... sweet its central gimmick is? For series context, Birdy is a space cop who accidentally kills a teen kid on a routine patrol on earth and has to act as his body-sharing life support as recompense; and he acts as her sort of guide on earth and alter-ego as they get into trouble. It's shockingly cool about this, though? Again, there's never like a breach in dignity between the two... they take a while to get used to their situation and while it's definitely played for shenanigans, it's never like, hostile?

I would argue quite the opposite, actually, and this is something that a lot of people have pointed out already; Birdy is pretty loaded on its own with transgender themes in a way that just feels really refreshing; two identities in one body coming to an understanding of each other in tumultuous times on the road to adulthood. Episode 3 feels like it comes pretty close to being explicit with it; again, SO refreshing to have this kind of theme just occur in a work.

Anyways, seek this out if you haven't seen it already! It's guaranteed to be a great afternoon if you dig fun and flirty sci-fi action! The way of the future, this one.

just wanna get my thoughts down on the 2022 lineup, don't mind me lol.

to summarize, the dramas i look forward to from this lineup:

p.s. i hate you

home school

midnight series (dirty laundry, midnight motel, moonlight chicken in that order)

honorable mention: vice versa

the lineup didn't really do it for me this year, let's just say that.

three gentle bros: gmmtv giving their series weird names part 1. I dont mind the idea of this one, but nothing really stood out to me. I think it's in part how blandly the trailer was shot, but it can't be helped, it was probably done last minute.

u.m.g: interesting cast, cool concept, but I dont think they'll do anything with it to interest me. It would be interesting if she is just an alien doppelganger trying to impede on the girl's life for this or that purpose and the actual girl escapes later on. tho i get the feeling that i want a horror/thriller from this and gmmtv wants a romance, their own my love from the star junior.

star and the sky: literally why was this 8 minutes long lol? it doesn't seem like a complicated drama, they could've done the job in 3 minutes.

home school: one of the dramas i actually look forward to. like yeah it's another younger sibling of the gifted, it has the same vibes (and the cast overlap alone raises an eyebrow), but there's nothing wrong with that since there's a lot that can be done with this set up. if it's even half as good as the gifted (s1) it will be worth the watch.

cupid's last wish: I only really like body swap dramas if they're comedies with no romance. It can work with romance, like in your name, but generally I'm not a fan. Especially not ones where person A goes I to person B's body and falls in love with person B's s/o, pass.

oops! mr. super star hit on me: I like jane, and that's really all I liked about this drama, next.

my dear donovan: I like namtan but this really has no appeal to me. The trailer felt like they're still deciding on what they want this drama to be and how they should combine certain elements they want in it.

warp effect: people were talking about a crack drama with fah in it and i knew immediately this was the one they were talking about lol. chaotic dramas can be fun but idk about this one. i had subs on and i still didn't really know what was going on

the eclipse: the trailer for this one was super messy, i can only grasp that there's a school setting with supernatural elements, not to keen on this one.

good old days: i think this one would work best as an anthology series rooted in the antique shop and a romance between the owner and the woman who comes in that develops over the course of the series. I get the feeling they'll go for something like that (one off stories each ep) or it may get too messy with all the different plot threads. It would be interesting if either the woman or the shop owner had psychometry and through that is how we see the stories of the objects, but I doubt it

never let me go: reminds me of what wyel might've been with more episodes and a budget big enough to have high stakes. it probably has one of the better trailers, but currently I don't think it's for me though it does have some promise.

10 years ticket: you can tell every one is gonna be acting their hearts out in this one. I'm usually not one for super intense dramas with no levity or comedy so I might skip this one, but it looks like a promising melodrama with talent behind it.

you fight, and i love: i knew joss was the lead before they even showed him, it's super predictable that if gmm is doing a boxing drama, he would be the lead. tho the moment it clicked with me that they paired love with their tallest actor sbndjs. the height difference is terrifying ngl lol. the actual plot and romance seem pretty bland where joss' character is gonna act super possessive and jealous for no reason. it is 2021, we have moved past the need for these types of bland plots

midnight series: interesting, i do wonder what the connective tissue is for these being a series since the tone varies between them. maybr the neon lighting? lol

midnight motel: I'm interested in this one, it seems like it'll be balancing between comedy and and a darker tone. I may just play it by ear with this one since it does look interesting, but I can think of a million ways they could fuck this one up.

moonlight chicken: gmmtv giving their series weird names part 2. This one appeals to me the least of the three, but I havent written it off completely. tbh i was quite interested in it initially with the restaurant plot, but then the cheating plot kicked in. I'll keep an eye out for it, but I'll once again be playing it by ear.

dirty laundry: is it weird that I look forward to this one the most out of the three? lol. I think it's because the premise is rather non-threatening. It's a more out there, chaotic plot that seems to have comedy as it's central focus, so it's less likely to disappoint than the other two (unless it's just not funny in any way I guess). so i'll probably watch it once it airs.

vice versa: another body swap drama. tho the strength of this plot is that they are two unrelated people swapping bodies with a different set of people they've never met and they have a romance with each other knowing the other isn't in their actual body. a bit convoluted, but oddly that set up doesn't bother me so i might check it out, and though they didn’t really get into it, I find the whole “I literally can’t go back unless you also go back” plot interesting. go back where? and why are they thethered to each other? it has potential for interesting world building, i may check it out to see what they do. also jimmy seems like a promising actor in bad buddy so I'm curious to see how he does in a lead role. also hilarious how nanon and ohm are paired in another bl together, but also: no they're not LOL.

p.s. i hate you: I am here for this drama, I will definately be watching once it airs. I love the cast and the plot. I'll try to go in with low expectations as usual, but someone I follow mentioned it could have pretty little liars vibes and I'd honestly love that. obviously it's different from pll but the whole "group of 5 girls tangled in a web of their own lies and they can't trust anyone not even each other" love that.

my school president: i'm so sorry, this one was so milk toast basic that i zoned out less than 30 seconds in, next.

devil sister: a noona romance i think? it seems like a very basic m/f romance with nothing special going on. The chemistry between the leads wasn't enough to sell me even though that's all the trailer had to go on. other than win being a popular actor. no shade but I do wonder if they're gonna make him cry in every drama he's in since he's pretty good at it lol. anyway, next.

you are my favorite: this was my first time seeing mike without the beard and mustache and so I was thrown off for the entire trailer, doubting my own senses the entire time lol. I found the concept interesting, but it's disappointing that he's trying to completely alter reality JUST in the pursuit of romancing someone lol. wouldn't it be funny if whatever deity gave him that snowglobe was just messing with him and he could only reset time but not actually change anything? lol. anyway, intereting concept, don't know that I'll end up watching it though.

astrophile: woow a girl who thinks she's nothing special but somehow ends up in a love triangle with two handsome men? never seen one of those before. let it be known that if I watch this, it is for toptap and kapook only. lord give me the strength i need not to watch a questionable drama just for toptap and kapook, not again. how is this the only drama either of them have next year for gmmtv, help

my precious: I knew this already but this trailer made my reflect on how much gmmtv loves to put nanon, ohm, chimon, and drake (and frank) in the same dramas lol. it's like they write a youth drama and then spin the wheel that they keep in the gmm writers' room with all their names on it and do casting based off that. I mean there was nothing else to think about while watching this trailer. It's another coming of age first love drama with nothing that makes it especially stick out. I like what I've seen of film's character, but other than that, meh.

Meh lineup in general, sometimes the final trailer looks better than the announcement trailer so who knows. I hope they get it together in pre production bc a lot of the trailers felt like they were still in early pre production, still trying to figure out a tone for the story when they were told to film a trailer. It really felt like they were spreading themselves thinner than usual with filming all of these trailers, so I feel like the final trailers will be more dissonant from the announcement trailers than usual.

Bonus thoughts:

it's been said by everyone but again. another year, another gmmtv line up with no gl in sight. do i even trust them to make a good one at this point? hm. I'm getting close to taking anything at this point /sigh

I know it's expected that gmmtv dramas have a lot of overlap with their actors, but I felt like i saw jan, aye, and fah a lot more than the other actors? could just be me, but either way, yes ladies get your coin. and nanon is in like...5 dramas lol? i don't even wanna know what his schedule looks like in 2022 if all these dramas actually air in the same year. I'm happy some if the actors get a lot of work and get their coin, but on the flip side it's unfortunate other actors barely get to be in any dramas.

Alrighty!! Time for part 2 of Monkie Kid season 3 special talk for ep 3 and 4!! This time gonna talk in general rather than in order of the events.

🚨SPOILERS AHEAD!🚨

Well for starters Macaque was ICONIC here!! Also adorablex3 From his expressions to his redemption (which we'll prob see more of next season x3) I LITERALLY DIED WHEN I SAW HIM TIED UP LIKE OMG MY BOY XDDDD also don't get me started on how gentle he was with lbd's host. WELCOME TO THE DAD SQUAD MY MAN!!

Edit: I totally forgot to add the "hero and warrior" part huh? ^^' that was also one of the best parts of the episode! The fact that Macaque kept saying "I'm not a hero" because he doesn't SEE himself as one. So MK sees what this is about and tells him to be a warrior! That hit so hard it killed me qwq and his face while MK said that it looked so puuuure TwT (I'll also like to add the amazing moment with both of them transforming at the same time they looked so cooooooolx33)

I'll also gonna go ahead and say I DIED from the dragonfruit content we got like, "don't you give up on me dragon girl!" I JUST CAN'T!! He was so worried the entire time for MeiTwT AND HE GRABBED HER BY THE CHEEKS! NOT EVEN THE SHOULDER THE CHEEKS!! AND HE CALLED HER BY NAME! HE HASN'T CALLED ALMOST ANYONE BY NAME!! and then the hug at the end omG I'M GONNA CRY!!! He was leaning on her tooooo QwQ the shippers ate good those 2 days UwU

Let's also talk about the interactions we had with Macaque and Wukong cause I honestly loved every second of it! I'll be real I don't really ship it, I mostly see them as a sibling dynamic. I was super excited with the fight scene and the fact that we had some parallels from their first fight!! (now if that was on purpose for us to talk about or to make the animation quicker idcUwU) I'll add here the fact that we FINALLY got to see the monkey king use his freaking laser eyes!! I seriously got hyped there!! X3 and then we go towards the end with them bickering like the bros they are XDD it was super adorable and it killed me how cute and funny it was! I also appreciate how they didn't go with saying "I'm nothing like him" at the same time, making it more realistic!

Now going to the epic final fight!! It was truly a sight to behold!! The way we got everyone helping out was just beautiful!! And the animation was the cherry on top!!

I also wanna give some spotlight to our villain here! It's really cool that we got some backstory at the start of the 3rd ep. And you have no idea how I screamed when we got a reference from the original journey to the west, where lbd transformed into a young girl, an old lady, and an old man afterwards! I can't help but get excited when they do things like that!!! We also got more about the mayor! And how apparently he AIN'T one of the corrupted/ possest people and how apparently he also ages old! But the fact that we don't know wat happened to him after the defeat of lbd kinda concerns me... And talking about defeat, while I did want her ded after what she did to my boy, I kinda felt bad to how done she was afterwards, how she had accepted her "destiny" hehe... Also with what she said to MK about their pursuit always leading to pain I can't help but think we in for sth more angsty than what we got now sooooo... Ready ur tissues next season and let's pray that they get a little break before that qwq.

Finally! Leaving my fav part for the end! MK and Wukong!(this one is gonna be longerxD) This whole situation started because monkey king decided to deal with lbd alone to protect the others.(and mostly MK let's be realUwU) I can't imagine what both monkey king AND MK were dealing with after lbd's cheap shot with possessing the king. The first time Wukong tried to attack MK he got saved last minute by Macaque! The 2nd time Wukong manage to break control for a few seconds thanks to MK!! Not only did he not hurt him, but he even threw him out of the way to make sure he doesn't end up doing sth worse to the kid!! 3rd time saved by Macaque AGAIN! (TY MY EMO MONKEY!!) And thank GOD the fourth time was the last, and our king finally broke free thanks to MK's trust!! And talking about trust, that's what I love about them. During the whole special, MK believed in The king, he knew that he was fighting for control! He trusted him so much that during the 4th attempt to hit MK, he didn't flinch! He knew Wukong was heading towards him and he didn't turn his head for a second nor did he try to defend! Giving Wukong the strength he needed to break free! (God the hug after that was adorable qwq)

And not just MK, Monkey king also trusts in MK's strength! When the kid went to confront lbd Wukong was the one who stopped the others from interfering. Trusting that MK was more than capable on handling the situation!

And during the end, the whole apology scene was everything I wanted to see! At first I thought MK was gonna be the one to start the conversation, but I'm really happy that Monkey king approached him instead. He was aware that he messed up and that he could obviously tell that the kid was still somewhat upset about it. He knows he's a bad mentor and honestly idk why people expect him to be amazing at it.

This is the monkey king we're talking about! The same guy that made an entire mess up in the celestial realm cause he wanted to be called "great sage equal to heaven". He still has a long way to go to be able to learn how to properly teach but he will try! He's trying for his kid. It's good that they finally got the time to talk about it cause that will make their bond even stronger now!(also the fact that he said "I'm sorry MK" and not bud is so sweet qwq) Honestly I'm a big sucker for parent-child relationships especially when they play it right and when the characters are to die for x3

I really can't wait to see what the future has in store for them in the next season ( and hopefully the one after that pls qwq)

Hi! Sorry to bother you, this feels like a bit of a loaded ask;;

So I'm currently working on a big ol fic and the ame trio (and original akatsuki) are a part of it. It has 3 original characters (2 being parents and one being a young child) that join Akatsuki. I was wondering if you had any tips for writing the ame trio as sort of older siblings to this kid? Also any general tips on writing the trio would be nice too if you have the time... I really love your work regarding the three. 💖

Hello!! Wow, this is such a lovely and fun ask! It's not a loaded question at all. I'm glad that you feel like asking my opinion on this, our own works are such personal things! I'm also super excited to know more people who are working on creative content (art & writing) with the Ame Oprhans. <3

I'll try to give an answer as detailed and helpful as possible! Leaving it below the cut because it will also be long, as I can't manage to be cohesive lmao.

I hope it's not a problem, but I'll rearrange a bit the order of your questions: first, general pointers about the Ame Orphans (+ Hanzo and Amegakure), and then how it'd relate to them being older siblings to your OCs.

The original Akatsuki timeline: I think the context of what was happening in the Land of Rain during the time of the original Akatsuki is a bit messy/vague, which makes it hard to understand, that's why I'm including it in the answer.

Bear with me for a little while, I know it feels like I'll be going on a tangent but I believe to better understand the characters, it's important we understand their environment just as much.

--- First off, I think it's good to clear up that the Akatsuki was not opposed to Hanzo (or his government). This is a misconception I see rather frequently, and it contradicts directly a lot of Yahiko's own actions - why would he want to ally with Hanzo if the Akatsuki was opposed to him? It's important to keep in mind that the trap that got Yahiko killed only happened because Hanzo "wanted to use the Akatsuki's influence to assist with peace negotiations between the three countries (waging the Third War)". (Ch.446). That is why Hanzo betrayed them... you can't betray your enemies.

I believe the misconception comes from, well, the fact that Hanzo killed Yahiko, and the fact that Kyusuke saw the Ame Orphans wearing hitai-ates with the Rain symbol, assumed they worked with Hanzo and stated that in a very... snarky manner. (Ep. 346).

Was Hanzo popular? Was he hated? Both? I don't think we have canon information enough to state either. What we know is that Yahiko (and, in extent, the Akatsuki) had a goal of working with him, or at least not against him - after all, the Akatsuki was all about estabilishing peace, not more conflict.

"Just like Hanzo, we hope that one day we'll be able to bring peace to the shinobi world..." Yahiko on Ep.346, English dub.

--- What was the Akatsuki's goal besides, well, world peace?

As far as we know, Rain didn't have a central government (like Fire and the other Great Nations had the Kage and Daimyo) -- Rain is not ever even called a "Country", probably because of that. When you a weak/non-existant/unstable government in a nation, it opens space for the rise of criminal factions. You don't have to search too much to get reference for that; crime-dominated cities are good examples, even if in smaller scales, for what happens when governments lose control to factions (mafia, gangs). When these factions wage war against each other, citizens suffer. In Rain, you also have the factor of Rain being occupied and used as battlefield for the Third War. We can assume the Akatsuki was trying to peacefully work against both of these situations.

Achieving "world peace" is a very broad goal -- you can try to do that through many different ways, as Nagato (post Yahiko's death) and Madara show us. We can tell through the story that Yahiko's Akatsuki, on a daily basis, tried to pave the way to world peace through local action: being the "guardians" of small villages (ep.346) and protecting it from local criminal gangs, as well as more 'international' actions such as helping (interfering?) with the conflics between the Great Nations (ep.347).

In this regard, we can also safely assume the Akatsuki grew to be known/powerful enough to have influence, or at least enough to pose as a threat to Hanzo; they were not just a small little group ninja among other similar groups of ninja. I think it's quite safe to assume that a lot of people heard about the Akatsuki (and the three main leaders), given that they caught the attenttion of Danzo, who is not even a Rain citizen...

2. The Ame Orphans.

I have a series of analysis of the Ame Trio as inviduals if you want to read, so I'll try to keep a simpler answer here, and more directed at your question.

I think writing them as older siblings to your character would depend a lot, of course, in what is the relationship of your character with them. Are they a member of the Akatsuki?¹ If so, what is their role in the Akatsuki? Are they trying to figure out where they fit, or do they start more or less knowing what is it that they will do?²

¹ Side note: You did mention one of the characters being a kid - if your child character ends up joining the Akatsuki... I wonder how the process of bringing a child into an organization that deals with war will work in the first place? We know the Shinobi World doesn't oppose children dealing with violence -- but how do the Ame Orphans, who are rebels against the system, feel about it? I'm very curious. I can totally see the Akatsuki having a "younger members" section, but I also feel like there would be some resistance to that idea. I wonder if this will cause some conflict until they decide what to do about your OC? Will they all be on the same page? Will of some of them be too idealistic ("we can't do what everyone else does and involve children with violence") and others be too realistic ("this is the world we live now, and we need to play the game to change the rules")? ² Side note: Especially for the adult characters, I think their "roles" will influence a lot with which of the ame orphans they'll interact most. Yahiko is the leader, of course, which means that he will probably interact with everyone more or less equally, and for that same reason will probably be in too much constant hurry to be present all the time. I think Nagato and Konan are the ones you can have a lot more freedom in this regard!

--- I don't think making the Trio behave as "older siblings" would be, in any way, OOC - in fact, it's entirely in their character to do that very naturally and instantly.

Yahiko is the most obvious one in this regard, having cared for Konan and Nagato with a (quite extreme) overprotection, and then serving as the leader of the Akatsuki and caring for everyone else. We saw how Nagato behaved as the Akatsuki's leader as well; he was distant in many ways (for obvious reasons), but he disliked name-calling between the members and chose members with similar interests to work "better" together (I mean, Kishimoto did, but you can extend that to him). We saw how he behaved with Naruto during the Edo Tensei, warm and proud and also worried about hurting him with his own powers. And Konan was the one Jiraiya called "happy and caring", and despite the coldness we usually associate with her (after Yahiko's death) she really was; she gifted Jiraiya with flowers, made origami to play with Chibi, and then gifted Naruto with flowers right after all the Pain Arc ordeal. She has a will of doing good to others that is very natural to her.

--- I find that, in order to highlight a character's virtues, we have to first identify and understand a character's flaws -- and in the Ame Orphan's case, how these flaws strain the relationship between them and how this can affect the relationship between your characters and them.

We know that Yahiko was so convinced that Nagato was the one to "save" their country and so adamant on the idea of having him as the Akatsuki's leader, he didn't really care for Nagato's (and Konan's) own opinions about it. (Ch 509/510). Of course his fiery will is a reason why Yahiko is admired, but couldn't his tunnel vision on his ideals also make him excessively busy and even hard to work with? We have a pretty clear implication that YahiKona didn't 100% happen because he was so stubborn on pushing Konan to be with Nagato despite neither of them wanting it. I'm not sure if YahiKona is a thing in your story, but if canon Yahiko was too focused on his goals to allow himself to be in a relationship with the person he loved, and even disregard their beloved's own desires, one can only wonder what it means for his other relationships...

Konan, like him, is someone who is also loyal and duty-oriented. Pretty much everything she does in Naruto is because she's extremely focused on her goals. She stays with Nagato after Yahiko's death, despite not fully agreeing with him or his methods (as implied in canon and stated in Akatsuki Hiden), because she's loyal to him (her family). Her whole reason to fight Obito is because he's a direct threat to her ideals and goals and family (as Nagato believed in Naruto). If Yahiko is insufferably loyal to his ideals, then Konan isn't all that much better, maybe just less obviously so. In Akatsuki Hiden, she misses a pretty obvious implication Nagato makes about them (YahiKona) because she can't think of anything besides the Akatsuki. Again, even if YahiKona isn't a thing in your story, one can only wonder how such extreme focus (and little thought for anything else) affects her relationships.

Nagato is, of course, also loyal and duty-focused, but he has a factor neither of the previous have, which is the Rinnegan. Jiraiya states that he mastered all jutsu natures (fire, water, etc) by age 10 - in the flashbacks, we only see him using "normal" ninjutsu. Nagato does not use the Rinnegan willingly until after Yahiko's death. He can't, and he doesn't want to; we know he is scared of the powers he can't control. Think about it; Nagato is a person who is scared of himself. He's scared of what he can do, because he can't control his powers once they unleash. How confortable can he be, interacting with others, if he has such a relationship with himself? We know he is nervous, insecure, hesitant despite being so powerful - maybe that's why he relies so much on Konan, and especially Yahiko. How confortable would he be with protecting others, if he can't safely use his own powers to their full extent?

3) Now, back to your character - how the "older sibling" relationship could estabilish.

Please note that this will be heavily influenced by how I would write such a thing, based on their personalities. It will be wonderful if you agree, but feel free to disregard if any of these don't sit right with you at all~!

I think Yahiko is the easiest one to know; we has a pretty strong tendency to protect the "weaklings". Konan and Nagato are way more powerful than him, we know, but only physically. From the start, they relied on him for everything, and kept on relying on a lot as the years went by. I think it would be extremely natural for Yahiko to take someone under his wing if they seem too lost or too much in need of guidance.

I believe Konan, on the other hand, would have her attention caught by someone who doesn't obviously need so much support. We know Yahiko is loud and expensive, and we know how quiet and composed Konan is compared to him - so I think someone who puts on a strong façade, but shows cracks of maybe needing help, needing to talk, needing care, would be the one to catch her eye more than others. It would be a more delicate relationship, one that Yahiko (being so blunt and on hurry all the time) could easily miss. And maybe you're thinking: "that also sounds like Nagato" - yes, I think Nagato and Konan gravitate towards similar things in general.

But Nagato has the Rinnegan, which adds a complexity factor that Konan, despite all of their similarities, doesn't have. We associate Nagato's behavior with insecurity and shyness, but we don't associate Konan with either of those, despite her also being a quiet and reserved character - Konan has full control of her powers, whereas Nagato doesn't. I think Nagato would face an internal conflict when meeting new people and estabilshing relationships: a tendency to be kind and helpful vs. a tendency to isolate because of the general sense of fear he constantly lives in. Your OC being a child would only amplify that: the desire of protecting someone who is fragile, especially considering how much the trauma of being orphaned impacted him (he knows "pain"), vs. the expanded fear of hurting that person who is so much more fragile than most (a child, not an adult). Maybe that extra nervousness could call the attention of the other rain orphans...?

DC's Stargirl 3.05 "Chapter Five: The Theif" has aired on the CW and I'm here to talk about it.

I'm really not a fan of these random one or two week skips that the CW likes to throw into their shows. I refuse to believe there's a reason for it.

Flashback to the night of the Gambler murder!! We know he was killed by a stab wound, yeah? Rick & Yolanda think it was Cindy because stabbing bitches is kind of her thing. However, I want to draw your attention to the fact that her blade is clean. Completely spotless. It's literally shining. If she had just killed Gambler with it, then it'd have blood and shit on it. I think it's another reference to her being framed. I am confused as to why she picked up his gun though. That's an odd choice. This does also show us that the story she told the others was actually a lie, just not in the way they think it was.

Will this fandom let me joke about not wanting to see Camney kisses because ew, straight people, or not? Because, ew, straight people.

Good for Courtney finding a work/life balance?

I'm conflicted on whether or not Courtney should tell Pat that Cameron has started developing his powers. On the one hand, it's a) a huge breach of Cameron's trust/invasion of his privacy (and he hasn't done anything wrong or been dangerous enough to possibly forego having a secret ID yet), b) it would almost certainly expose Courtney's secret to him (and thus her involvement in his dad's death) and c) with Sylvester around, dude might try to kill Cameron. On the other hand, a) Pat has no inherent ill will toward the kids of former villains (or their families in general based on the good [if brief] relationship he had with Denise Zarick) the way Sylvester does, and b) Pat would likely be a valuable resource in terms of actually being able to teach Cameron how to use his powers. It's a tricky situation.

Cindy using the Gambler's own tech to hack his laptop? Iconic.

Sylvester really has some shit he needs to work through. This shit is not acceptable behaviour for someone who's supposed to be a hero. At least he can admit it. But seriously dude, go to therapy.

Dr. Fate and Wotan namedrop, aye. And the Crimson Avenger. Now that one I feel is a bit more of a deep cut.

Mike and Jakeem's subplot is fun. And fuck yeah Cindy, fuck these bullies up!

Cindy struck a nerve with the whole "all our dads suck" thing. But like, she's right. And Courtney's right about how it's now fair to judge Cameron because of his dad. And it is kinda true about Cindy too, but also Cindy was actively a villain so like, eh.

Was Beth's scene with her parents super emotional? Yes. And I could talk about it, but what I actually wanna talk about is why the fuck do all these kids have such massive bedrooms?? You're in high school, your bedroom doesn't need to be the size of a New York apartment.

Rick having his super strength 24/7? So hot.

Okay, I'll admit. It is really sweet that Courtney is trying to help Cameron find something other than this whole hero/villain thing to do with his powers. I said it last time and I'll say it again, I think it'd be a really interesting and unique choice to have forego either and become an artist with his powers or something.

And Yolanda has found the laptop. Excited to see that fight.

Looks like next week is going to have a showdown between Courtney and the rest of the JSA. And I think I'm gonna have to be with Courtney on this one. The episode title is concerning though. We'll just have to see what happens next week on DC's Stargirl 3.06 "Chapter Six: The Betrayal".

hii anon !! sorry i've been mia on this blog... i'm not super involved in the 1d world atm and i always feel bad reblogging too much stuff from other fandom on here... . but i'm def. around :) on here and twt...

i'm doing... okay? idk how much you've followed what's been going on with me lately but i broke a bone in my foot at the beginning of the summer + got a really nasty sprain to go with it, which really sucked and was super painful. so i've mostly been in recovery from that. i had just gotten a new job at the public library so i had to stop that for about 4 months while i recovered. the bone is all healed up now though and while the sprain is still painful at time, i was finally able to go back to work last week! it was really stressful since i was so new and it had been a while, but it went really well. so i'm excited about that. i'm slowly picking shifts up again. it's nice to like... not be cooped up at home anymore. esp. since the covid situation here keeps getting better and we get more and more freedom. i've been seeing a few friends for the first time since basically, i came back from scotland and that's been really nice too. and really helpful re: mental health.

the only thing that's got me down is the fact that writing is still a big struggle lately. i don't know why i'm so blocked but i am *shrug*. it fucking sucks. i'm hoping to do nano this year tho with one of my og stories, so we'll see haha. i have done...... zero prep though. should be .... fun.......

so yeah in general things are okay? i'm still stressed about picking work back up, but hopefully, it'll all go well and things will come back as i do them haha. (i was gone a long time rip.)

"Oh, my!"

V's eyes widened and his protective instincts kicked in as he saw Lady just bump into you. On the other hand, you didn't even notice it when the woman who looked like Audrey Hepburn suddenly, and out of the blue, appeared just like that, and you totally blamed it on your lack of focus.

"Oh, how silly of me!" Lady apologized with a smile as she helped you on your feet.

"It's alright. I wasn't paying attention. I - "

"Jive." Lady whispered to you the moment she leaned in closer to your ear.

"Sorry?"

"That's the next dance." Lady went on, surveying the whole room at the same time with her sharp eyes. Probably on the lookout for her sly partner, as well. But, this only proved she's even more sly than Lancaster, himself. "And Fleminger is absolutely fond of Jive. So, make it count."

"Why are you doing this? Aren't we supposed to be enemies?"

"Are we?" Lady answered, and with a wink, she waved goodbye and made her way towards Lancaster, who was currently being pampered by Fleminger's older guests.

So, Jive,... is Fleminger's favorite dance,...

Just like,... !

Wait, was that the reason she - ?

"My dear, are you alright?" You heard V ask you, bringing you back from your own reverie to reality.

Looking up at him with renewed determination and keeping the little facts you've just stitched together for your own ruminations later, you answered, "Yes, I'm,... super!" Drumming your chin with your fingers, you smiled as a wild and very sudden idea just came into your mind. You were one hundred percent sure that your grandmother would faint if she finds out about this plan of yours but, you might as well make this once in a lifetime gamble worth it, right? Looking up once more at your partner, you laid your hand on his arm and said, "I'm just gonna,... fix something."

And to this, you saw how V's eyebrows furrow in utter confusion. "P - pardon? Is everything alright?"

"I'll be right back, I promise." You told him with a reassuring smile.

Slightly running towards the powder room, your eyes quickly surveyed what the other Queen competitors were wearing. And if Lady was, indeed, correct, you assumed that all of them would have a really hard time moving with those voluminous skirts of theirs.

"Ugh. Fleminger, you are such a huge sadist." You thought out loud as you opened the door to the powder room, which was luckily unoccupied, and looked at yourself in the mirror. Giving your precious vintage gown one last look of pity like it was a criminal on the verge of execution, you grabbed the skirt and started tearing it, the sound of ripping fabric piercing your sensitive ears and making you feel sorry for your great grandmother, who previously owned it. With a huge sigh and a spark of inspiration, you, then, reached up to your hair and pulled the pins that kept it secure, letting the (H/C) tresses tumble in waves at your back.

After making sure that the ripped fabric was disposed in the proper place, you gave yourself one last look in the mirror. "Not bad, actually." You told yourself as you made your way back to your partner. Ignoring the wide variety of comments by the guests who saw you, you took a deep breath and exclaimed, "Told you I'll be right back."

V turned around, and his initial expression of relief upon knowing that you're well turned quickly into that of complete shock when his wide green eyes roamed on your loose hair down to your bare legs. You couldn't help but feel sorry for the poet. Almost.

"(Y/N), dear, I don't think that's - !" V stuttered in distress, wanting to blurt out the word inappropriate as gently as he could.

"Trust me, V." You reassured him as you smiled confidently at him. Yes, you don't quite trust Lady. But, her words earlier,...

There was no way in hell that she would lie to you! No fricking way!

You looked up at the upper boxes and noticed Fleminger excitedly leaning in closer to his seat the moment the musicians picked up their instruments. What's more, you also noticed that his eyes landed on yours.

Taking a deep breath and carelessly brushing a wayward lock off your face, you spread your arms wide with much confidence and waited for V to take the lead.

His heart pounding wildly, a small bead of sweat trickling down his forehead, and his eyes wide with anticipation, V finally realized what you were planning to do. Your important, non - verbal message seemingly received and well - noted by the wise poet, you let V take your hands. With one last nod to your partner as soon as the music began, you left everything to your actual skills, your stamina, and your trust towards him.

Together, you'll see this one dance through.

And one step in, you knew. You both knew. There's still a chance to turn this whole situation around to your favor.

Their excitement felt different from before during the first three dances where he simply dominated the rest of the dancers with ease and without so much as a single effort. And when he made one wrong decision to turn away from his beautiful partner and see for himself just what these ignorant people were cheering for now, he realized. He finally realized, and because of that, he lost his balance for the first time that evening.

It was you. And your lover.

Such vibrant moves! Such,... perfectly coordinated steps! Such,... powerful connection! And chemistry!

"What,... in the actual fuck?!" Christopher blurted out when he saw you and V wowing the crowd with your quick Jive kicks and flicks. And what's more,...

Since when was V able to move like that?!

That smile on his face,...

He seemed to enjoy the Jive too much! The way he's giving it his all and showing off his flashy moves at the same time,...

First verse in and you're already giving it your all?! Thought the evil doctor as he turned his attention back to Lady to try and outshine your routine. Are you really that desperate to win against me?!

"We'll see about that!" Christopher screamed as he forced Lady to do the American Spin, making the woman almost stumble to her feet.

I'll win this game! Christopher thought as he sadistically led Lady. The flashier the moves, the better! I'll become King and make you pay for humiliating me!

Adelaide threw an infuriated look at the host of this wretched party, who was watching the show from that lofty upper box. And the man seemed to be massively enjoying the show! And at what expense? The women tripping on their skirts as they try to keep up with the brutal pace of the Jive? The men covering up their partners' mistakes by making unnecessary moves?

Her grandchild ripping her skirt and letting her hair loose wildly like that?!

"Ugh!" Adelaide exclaimed in utter disgust as she observed the man. "You never change your ways, Flanagan!"

We have so much in common.

We argue all the time.

I'm pretty sure I'm right.

You felt yourself so energized with that yadada that the women were singing. Their overwhelming energy and eagerness to support their lead singer gave you even more motivation to support your own leader, who was surprisingly very good at this dance!

As he led you to the mooch right after that little hip bump, V couldn't help but be amazed at what you have shown so far. Nico did say that you can dance the Jive but, he never really expected you to be this good, that he almost wondered where you pitched in those extra dance lessons in between your music studies. What's even more, you sure knew how to follow his lead and still look graceful doing it. And that was a vast understatement.

Seeing you enjoy this wonderful dance with him made him enjoy the entire dance, as well. And as long as you're happy, he's happy.

And that was the only thing he wished for.

For you to be happy.

With him.

As the song came to a close, you made one last effort to make a graceful bow, hoping to still look decent after being sorely beaten by Christopher Lancaster and his stunning partner. Taking hold of V's hand, you looked up at him and gave him that smile of yours that never failed to make him feel warm.

"Thank you, V." You simply told him.

The man smiled back at you but, a bit of confusion was still present in his facial expression. The poor poet honestly thought that he did nothing so special and that he didn’t deserve your gratitude. "It's always a pleasure." He answered regardless.

You two were about to step out of the massive ballroom when you noticed some people cheering wildly despite the dance being over. And this made the others cheer, as well.

But, why?

"Bravo!" A man dressed as a general cheered at the top of his lungs.

"Encore!" A woman, who was dressed as Marie Antoinette, added.

"Elvis!" Some group of young women dressed like the Spice Girls cheered in unison. "ELVIS! KING ELVIS!"

"Elvis?" You muttered in question as your eyes met with V's. "They're cheering for you!”

"I don't understand." V answered, his eyebrows knitted, too many questions going on in his mind. "We barely did anything,... "

"MY QUEEN!" Another man, who was dressed as an Italian painter, called. "MY QUEEN!" And his attention was totally directed at you. Not at Lady, not at Trish. You.

"QUEEN!" Some of the men started cheering, as well.

"QUEEN! QUEEN! QUEEN!"

"They were calling for you!" Trish, who was standing next to you, happily told you, shaking you a bit to keep you focused.

Dante, who was only ever so proud of V, patted the poet on the shoulder ( a bit too much ), and beamed at him. "The floor is yours, Mr. Poetry!"

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Christopher, who was watching the incredible scene unfold right before his very own eyes, murmured, unable to believe that you and V just stole his thunder right under his nose with just a simple dance.

HOW CAN THIS BE?!

"It looks like we have a winner." Fleminger declared as he gestured for his musicians to do the much requested encore. The leader nodded and gestured for the singers to have another go at it. And when that Jive music started playing once more, the other couples left the ball room to make room for you and V, all of them acknowledging your clear and clean victory.

Well, except Christopher, of course.

"Hey," The evil doctor called after Lady when he saw her going towards Dante and Trish. "HEY! WE'RE NOT DONE YET!"

"Are we?" Lady responded with much sass as she finally left her partner to cling onto Dante instead.

"Hey, babe!" The tall Devil Hunter, who was only too grateful to have two beautiful women by his side, greeted with much gusto. "Looking sharp as always!"

"Leaving your partner so soon?" Trish teased, an evil smirk fully and intentionally directed at Lady.

And to this, Lady just giggled and waved her hand. "That man needs a babysitter, not a partner. He's just too old to be grumbling like that. Besides, I’m done collecting his handsome payment for being his partner for the evening.”

"Whatever you say,..."

"May I have the honor of this dance, my lady?" V asked you with a proud smile as he held out his hand to you.

"It would be such an honor." You answered happily and graciously as you took his hand.

How can two people have so much fun dancing so energetically together like this? How can these two not mind the fatigue and stress of this crowded and heated place? How can these two lovers have all the fun in the world as if no one else existed but them?

You would never know the answer.

All you knew was that you were here with the person who made you smile. The only person who healed your broken heart.

The one and only man who made you so happy like this that you forgot all of your troubles.

And you wanted to be happy with him, not only during these mooches, these flicks and kicks, these American spins, or these simple chasses.

You wanted to be happy with him, and only him, even after this Jive.

You wanted to be happy with V. Always.

And not only you. Nico and Nero, who apparently just returned during your encore performance, were both cheering for you. As well as your stubborn but loving grandmother, who was honestly sticking out like sore thumb among the well - dressed crowd with her non - vintage attire comprised of a bright purple coat, a bright pink beret, and a pair of little blue pumps. Oh, yes, she looked so proud, and she should be! After all, she spent a huge amount of time zealously and passionately teaching you the Jive in between your piano lessons when you were just a little girl. And you kind of just figured out why after all those years of harsh, grueling footwork training!

You were on your way to your loved ones after the music changed to disco for everyone to join in when Christopher, who just appeared out of nowhere, grabbed your arm and forced you to face him.

"What did you do?" The evil doctor questioned, positively fuming with anger after being humiliated. "You,... FUCKING BITCH! WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?!"

Finally having enough of Christopher's bullying and abuse, V raised his hand in an almost blind rage, ready to snap his fingers and bring chaos down unto his sorry ass when Nico interrupted by grabbing his arm.

"Ah, ah, ah! Ya haven't met our friend, yet!" Nico warned as she gave V a threatening look and forced his arm down. Gesturing for Nero to come forward, all of you watched, in utter shock and horror, as the young Devil Hunter dragged a shady looking man forward, making Christopher's veins pop up from his already red forehead.

"Who is this man?" You questioned as you uncomfortably watched Nero manhandle the poor, Kevin Bacon - wannabe guy.

"His name is Salvador!" Nero answered with a vicious smile as he crushed the man with his muscular hug, seemingly hurting him more than introducing him. "I believe he is a friend of Dr. Lancaster here."

"Is,... that so?" V asked, his eyes dangerously narrowed and his patience already snapping like a twig.

"Yeah." Nico replied. "And check this out!" She exclaimed excitedly, taking out Sparda's ripped set of vintage clothing from her backpack. "He has this all along!"

"What's the meaning of all this?" You questioned, alarmed after seeing V's infuriated face as he glanced at the fabric in Nico's hands.

"BOSS, TELL THEM THE TRUTH!" Salvador pleaded, visibly suffering from Nero's painful hold. "TELL THEM!"

"I - I,... DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT - !" Christopher yelled, feeling hopelessly cornered, as he tried to get away from you once and for all. Unfortunately for him, Dante, who sensed all this unease and left the dancefloor for a while to come to your rescue, was already standing behind him, and the moment he turned away, he bumped against the Legendary Devil Hunter's rock hard chest, making him stumble on the ground ungracefully.

"Hey, is there something wrong here?" Dante asked good - naturedly, trying not to escalate the situation to prevent it from getting worse.

"He stole father's things." V answered monotonously, his enraged eyes still on Christopher. "And made an enemy of Sparda by tormenting (Y/N)."

"Ah, is that so?!" Dante, whose eyebrows began twitching the moment he heard the word torment, said as he began cracking his knuckles, the sound of his popping joints frightening poor Lancaster and Salvador beyond their own wits.

"Oh, please, you're being too harsh on the poor man!" You interrupted with a smile, startling everyone, most especially V.

"But, dear, this man hurt you - !" V argued but he was cut off when you helped Christopher on his feet

"Thank you!" The doctor cried as he graciously took your hands. "Thank you so much, (Y/N)! I' am very much - !"

"FUCK YOU!" The crisp and horrible curse escaped your mouth as you let out a powerful right hook that connected straight to Lancaster's cheek, feeling his head jerk deliciously sideways beneath your hardened fist. The man stumbled on the ground once more, and when he tried to get up, he saw blood on the floor where his face was. He looked at you in fright and scrambled to his feet, making his way outside and finally leaving all of you, hopefully for good.

"BOSS! DON'T LEAVE ME!" Salvador called as he wriggled free from Nero's iron grasp and chased after the defeated doctor.

“That hand,... PRACTICED THE PIANO 40 FREAKING HOURS A DAY!” You screamed at your pathetic, narcissistic ex, and, man, it felt so, so good! "Wow." You breathed a sigh of relief, a proud look on your face. "That was so intense!”

"You betcha!" Nico laughed as she watched the two men scurry their way outside in fright.

"They should think twice before crossing any Sparda next time." Nero added, shrugging his shoulders.

"There won't be a next time! Mark my words.” Dante corrected as he stretched his long arms and made his way back to the dancefloor.

"I shouldn't say this but," V added as he closed the gap between the two of you and linked his fingers with yours. " … I'm so proud of what you've done, (Y/N). And I won't ever regret saying it."

"Haha, thanks."

"And what is going on here, if I may inquire?" You heard Fleminger's voice. Apparently, he has been watching the whole scene unfold right before him in silence. And he didn't look overjoyed.

"Well, I,... " You stuttered, feeling nervous under the host's scrutinizing gaze. "Took care of,... something?"

"Here, man." Nico whispered to V as she handed him something from her backpack.

Fleminger shook his head with an apologetic look on his face. "You must know that,... violence,… is strictly discouraged in these halls of entertainment. And for that, I must disqualify the both of you from winning the title of King and Queen for this evening." Fleminger declared, bringing down the hammer of justice right before you and V. Shaking his head with a distinct frown in his face, he turned around and muttered, "Such a shame."

"Go for it! I'm countin' on ya!" Nico told V as she pushed him closer towards you.

"Is there something wrong, V?" You asked, the sweet victory of winning against Christopher and the bitter sting of being disqualified as Queen still very much fresh in your system.

The man smiled as he shook his head. Then, making one swift decision to trust his gut and finally get this one final plan for the evening over and done with, he took your hand and led you outside, getting past the people who congratulated you, both for dominating the dance floor and for giving that evil doctor a piece of your mind.

That,... bitch! That fucking bitch and her skinny boyfriend who thinks he owns the world!

"You thought you have the last laugh, eh?" Christopher said, and as he was about to reach for that thing in his breast pocket, he felt a strange presence behind him. Looking back, he saw a tall, and ridiculously attractive dark - skinned man who was leaning against a pillar just outside Fleminger's mansion. Unlike the other guests, he was not dressed in his best vintage and he looked like he was only there to crash the party. His dark, gleaming eyes seemed to observe him very, very closely, and it felt like those eyes were piercing through his skull right to the depths of his soul.

"Can I help you?" Christopher asked, suddenly feeling the atmosphere getting heavy right before this stranger's presence.

The man raised his eyebrows. His hands still in the pocket of his grey pants, he nodded and spoke in a very deep, and yet, sweet - like - honey, voice. "Maelstrom."

"Excuse me? What the hell are you talking about - ?!"

"Exactly." The man answered. "I thought I sensed something special here. Alas, I was mistaken." The man left the pillar and turned the other way to leave. But before that, Christopher heard the man mutter something under his breath. "Ah, such a shame. No wonder Bedlam has been so down for decades now, I see. Aha, time to search for someone else,..."

"EXCUSE ME?! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU - ?!"

"Who are you talking to, scum?"

Just then, Christopher heard another voice behind him. But unlike the honeyed voice of the attractive hobo who just left, this one sounded like it was filled with such poison. He turned around and found a tall, white - haired man standing before him. He was staring him down with those cold eyes of his, and his right hand was lurking dangerously close to the hilt of the katana on his left hand.

"What now?!" Christopher howled in agony, feeling as if he was losing his mind completely.

"I believe," The white - haired man drawled, his voice sounding so much like a feral hiss, as he finally unsheathed the Yamato and pointed it at Christopher. " ... you have something that is mine in your possession?"

Wait a second here,...

Tall, ridiculously virile - looking, and white - haired,...

"Another,... SPARDA?!" Christopher helplessly gasped in fright as he felt his bladder fail on him.

Vergil gave him one last sadistic smile as he went closer to the man who almost ruined his brother's evening with you.

"And that's the last time you'll ever say that name." The eldest son of Sparda said as he raised the Yamato,...

Ooh okay promo time!!

Oop a girl in the ER, back to patients where we need to figure out what's wrong (I mean instead of planned patients), entirely at least.

Uh ohhh

Oof Lim I think it would be better for both of you, and everyone else, to at least be a little better than that xdd

Ooooh a discussion/confrontation (not in a bad way, hopefully) between Shaun and Lim 👀👀

I'm thinking maybe the talk will be at the end and it will end well, or well-ish at least? Idk though we'll have to see 😬

So yeah! That's the last of my last thoughts, now it's time for the. . .

REVIEW

I loooved this episode! We got to see some new pairs, and some old pairs, and it was a switch up of format with all the related patients and teams. Very interesting! We also had the Shea angst 😭😭, which is awful, but they'll work through it <3. Right now though, it's best to just feel their feelings :( :/. Poor guys <333.

So about the case over all, I thought it was super interesting! They're all technically connected but also complete separate cases, though they have mostly the same start conditions (like, premature and all that). It was a great narrative device for the different pairs of people, and of course fit with the general baby theme this episode :).

First off, Shaun and Lea. I feel sooo bad for them 😭😭😭. The acting is amazing, by the way. Their sadness just feels so real :((. I'm sure it'll work out eventually, even if they can't have biological kids, but it's heartbreaking to see them go through this 😭😭. I'm so glad they have each other though, them supporting each other and not blocking each other out (that's a lot of 'each other's but whatever lol) ❤️❤️❤️. And besides the sadness, they were so cute and excited in the first scene :DD 🥰🥰🥰🥰. The excitd part of course makes it more heartbreaking, but whatever xD. Anyway, in interesting to see where their story goes next, with this part of it I mean. It's sure to be a hard road <33.

Jordan and Glassman, like I said, I'm not surprised didn't work easily together. But kind of like how Powell and Shaun were doing last week, they can challenge each other's ideas and make them better, so that's good :). They needed both of them to do it, and they did manage to overcome a huge obstacle and succeed <3. I'm proud of them, and I'm so glad it did work out :D. Plus that part of Glassman telling Jordan thank you for helping him keep hope? VPBOWNUXBWLJD amazing 🥰🥰🥰. Or not giving on hope or whatever, you know what I mean xD.

Powell and Lim! They were fun this episode :D. Again, they had some bonding, and Powell telling Clay to bring Lim food was sly, and sweet lol xD. Even if that conversation was probably horribly awkward for Lim, I'm glad they have each other that they can talk about this stuff with, even if theyre not in exactly the same situation :)). It looks like Lim will have to confront her feelings about Shaun in the next episode though, so that's sure to cause some tension. I mean, she's inviting him to breakfast so he can help her judge sperm donors XD. That's pretty close if you ask me lol. Like, pretty intimate (platonically I mean) for someone you just made up with. So, I think they are gonna keep reconciling, and who knows? Maybe they will get back together in the future :). Or, maybe they won't! Okay okay, lol, hoo, I'm fine xD. Anyway, I wanna say again that it's totally fine to not want kids, or to want kids, but people who are opposites on that don't tend to work together. They just want fundamentally different things, and it hurts, but that's okay. So a big reason I'm so happy here is just the fact that this won't cause problems between them xDD, and they'll stay together (even if a breakup wouldn't have been immediate lol).

And also just because they, I can want my favorite couple to have kids okay xDD.

(btw I have many favorites they're not my number one out of all my fandoms lol, and maybe not even of the show, they might be tied with Shea, idk)

Anyway lol. The chicken callback as really sweet 🥰🥰, and BOTH OF THEM SINGING 😭😭😭?? They're (the show) just out here trying to kill me, aren't they xd. But yeah, that scene of Asher singing the same song Jerome sung earlier to the baby? Amazing, 10/10, I love them with my whole heart <33. Anyway, they ended on a good note, so while this does leave the kids thing open for the future, I don't think I really have much to say about specifics of where they're going next story-wise :). Presumably kids, and maybe/probably marriage at some point, but who even knows if that would happen during the run of the show? Eh, anyway, for the immediate future, I'm just excited to see what their next storyline is. And their individual ones! I'm interested in a more individual storyline for Jerome, even as a side character. I'm just thinking that as a supporting who's in a relationship with a main and interacts with them (like bro was the only nurse in the teams of two lol xD), the group of mians that is, it wouldn't be unreasonable :). Anyhoo, we'll see!

Overall, I really loved this episode. There were so many great moments, and I loved the change up of format for the case(s). We did have the sadness of Shaun and Lea's storyline, but it was balanced well. And sometimes, you just gotta have a little sadness lol. It's not a show without angst xD! Not one I'm watching anyway lol. Anyway, I also just really love all my children 🥰🥰. There was a good spread of focus today, which I really liked :D. Plus the cases themselves were different and interesting! I can see a lot of storylines being set up and continued, and many that are continuing are kind of also set ups because it feels like they're moving into the next phase. So, I'm excited to see what comes next! I'm sure it'll be great :).

I'm a 26-year old guy and Ive noticed the last three times ive had sex with a girl i struggle to sustain an erection. i mostly use porn to get off in between hook ups and indulge usually 1-2x per week, less so recently. i think what my problem is, is that I'm desensitized and/or my brain gets excited mostly when it knows I'm about watch porn. the kicker here is that I'm hanging out with this girl Friday and there's a 99% chance we'll have sex. any advice? i haven't watched porn for over a week

Welp, certainly missed the mark on this one. But if you come back and read this, hopefully you were successful!

That being said, the harsh reality here is that it definitely sounds like you’re experiencing what scientists call porn-induced erectile dysfunction. It may not be the case - there are A LOT of issues that can cause various types of erectile dysfunction. But if YOU feel like there’s a relationship, that’s a good cause for alarm.

Firstly, what is it? Here’s a good review and understanding to get you started. It also be stated straight-out, PORN IS NOT ADDICTIVE. Addictive materials alter the chemistry of your body with the introduction of the addictive substance (alcohol, nicotine, cocaine, etc.). Instead, porn is a COMPULSIVE material, and although it can have real world effects, the compulsive behaviour is not built into the body, but is instead a reaction to experiences people have to the world around them (stress, anxiety, depression, etc. can all create reasons to compulsively use porn, similarly to that forms of escapism).

Essentially, ED caused by porn results from a place of over-stimulation. Using porn all the time conditions the brain to associate the act of preparing and then engaging with the porn as a sexual act, and if you use high volumes of porn (LOTS of different videos of extreme, hardcore porn) it can train your brain to think that this is how porn is, with all that stimulation. And when you don’t get that experience in real life, your expectations for sex aren’t met, and thus you find it difficult to get aroused. More info from Laci Green here.

So for your particular meeting this weekend, there’s not much that could have been done. Retraining your brain can be a very difficult process depending on how severe the issue is. So much so, that it might even require a sexologist or therapist to help you through the process. Which is something you should keep in mind if this problem persists!

The general advice to “cure” ED from porn use is as follows:

CUT OUT THE PORN. The big issue here is that porn has become as vital to your sexual experience as an erection. Your brain is smart, and it does a lot of automatic processes during sexual arousal, like speeding heart rate and breathing, as well as all the processes that go into making the penis erect. The problem is, if this is a problem you’re suffering from, the porn itself has become part of the process, and if your brain relates porn + automatic function = erection, then if that porn isn’t there, you won’t be aroused.

Now pay attention to what I said here. I didn’t say STOP MASTURBATING. I said stop watching porn when you masturbate. The porn is the problem, and you need to rewrite the algorithm in your brain to retrain it to understand that porn is not a requirement for arousal. You kinda already instinctively figured this out, and cut down on the masturbation time. But now I suggest you begin to try to masturbate without porn.

I know that probably sounds awful. If you can’t get it up with an actual person, how can you do it alone? That’s the goal. You have to retrain your brain that erotic thoughts - and thoughts alone - are enough to make you aroused. By removing porn from the equation, it forces you use your brain and imagination to become aroused. Think of arousing images in your mind, or think of attractive people in your mind, and then try to masturbate. This may not work! You may just by flapping away at a floppy dick. That’s okay. Don’t try to cum, don’t even try to get hard. Just have a fun, nice moment enjoying an erotic thought. Kind of like when you were a kid, and imagined a classmate in their underwear, and maybe impulsively touched yourself. This is the type of space in your mind you want to rediscover for yourself. Leave your computer and phone behind. Turn off all technology, get in bed, maybe light some candles, and imagine some super steamy, hot sexual scenarios, and see if over the period of a month or so, you can get aroused this way.

MASTURBATE DIFFERENTLY. This may sound kind of dumb, but it’s very important for those suffering from ED. Part of the arousal process is the way we do it. We experience pleasure in specific ways, and if a way that we experience pleasure doesn’t align with the way we are used to experiencing pleasure, our brain sometimes interprets that as “oh, this isn’t pleasurable.”

As an example, you can see this in a huge majority of young women, particularly pre-teens and teens just discovering their sexuality right after puberty. In western culture, men are taught from a young age that it’s okay to be more open about their perviness; however, lots of women are shamed from an early age to reject their perversions and sexual thoughts for a sense of idealized purity. This is obviously bullshit, but it’s the way parenting and education happens to prepubescent children.

The result of this conditioning is that there are LOTS of girls who suddenly hit puberty, start having all these horny feelings, but feel they are deeply strange and shameful. “I would never finger myself, that’s WRONG.” “It hurts to have sex, because I never masturbate.” “I don’t like to masturbate because it doesn’t feel good.” It’s not that any of these people are lying; it’s simple that they have been conditioned to think these various thoughts, through YEARS and even DECADES of negative reinforcement of sexual habits.

How does this relate to you? Well, for those who do masturbate, sometimes we can condition ourselves to appreciate pleasure in only one way. If all you do is drop onto your couch, turn the porn on, and surf until it’s time to cum, you condition your brain into the habit of THIS being the sexual experience. This is what sex looks like for your body 99% of the time, but then you meet with a girl... but you’re not naked on your couch, and there’s no porn on... this isn’t sex, this is some other situation, no arousal.

How to fix? CHANGE IT UP. Similarly to not using porn to find arousal, try to use different methods physically to become aroused. Do you use your right hand every time to masturbate? Try to use your left, or flip your hand upside down while stroking. Want a more “sex-like” experience? Try masturbating with condoms on (or with lube!), since you’re hopefully using those when hooking up anyway! Still not enough? HUMP THINGS! Couches, pillows, old stuffed animals, beds, blankets, and all sort of things can give a full body sensation of sexual pleasure. Usually sit down at your computer to masturbate? Lie down in bed instead, or even stand up while you do it! Still want an extra special something? BUY SOME SEX TOYS! Go to Adam & Eve (not a sponsor, they’re just dope) and buy a toy that suits your needs. Too cheap? Make your own sex toys!

The point is back to that conditioning thing. You want to condition your brain to understand that there are LOTS of different places where it’s okay to be aroused, so when you find yourself in a new situation (aka, with a person, in real life) your body doesn’t feel like this is an inappropriate place to do the deed.

Another very important thing to say here at the end. You BELIEVE that this is your problem, but it is also entirely possible this ISN’T the problem. It’s possible you are experiencing anxiety in sexual encounters with people. If you feel scared or anxious in the moment, this requires a different method of recovery, and you need to learn to calm your mind and try to remember that the expectations you feel at your performance are fair and valid, but they aren’t expectations, and it’s all in your head.

Also, MEDICINE. Lots of medications can fuck with your ability to get hard. Research your medications and see if one of the downsides is erectile dysfunction. If yes, contact your doctor and tell him you’re experiencing these problems.

Also also, mind altering substances! Alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana just to name a few have all been noted as items that can decrease the ability to feel aroused or get aroused, especially in men. Maybe you struggle to get aroused because you’ve had too much to drink, or there’s too much THC in your system, or nicotine has decreased blood flow to your body. If you use any sort of drug, narcotic, or substance like this, maybe cut that out of your diet for awhile!

The bottom line is that all this shit is way more complicated than we assume at first glance, and you should take the potential that porn is the problem seriously. But make sure you analyze your whole self during the process to figure out what the actual issue is, and don’t be afraid to approach doctors with these concerns.
