It's even funnier when you see that in higly aereobic sports : marathons , triathlon and ultra marathon the gender difference is flatter than in other places ...

So yeah gaming is much more taxing on the cardio respiratory system than a triathlon

God, anyone else remember when everyone understood that the correct feminist position about sports was that women should be allowed to compete with men because they're just as capable? When it was a trope in media to have the mysterious star athlete who just blew everyone else out of the water to take off her helmet and reveal that she was a woman the whole time?

Now people are rabidly arguing that supposed "men" (trans women) have inherent insurmountable biological advantages in literally every single possible activity and cis women are too weak and dainty and unskilled to ever compete and must be protected, and then they try to call themselves feminists who are being silenced as if that's not just the mainstream sexist patriarchal opinion

Anyway, desegregate sports. There was never any reason to separate them by gender in the first place

i don't want to detract from racial issues at all in the slightest right now - but i just got an anon that clearly implied that gender minorities don't face abuse from cops, and like. women and non-cis people do, quite a lot. white privilege exists among gender minorities but uhhh like....discrimination from cops on the basis of gender is a thing that has existed for a long time.

trans women get attacked and mudered. it is legal in many places for cops to rape, which is a constant threat to predominantly women, not to mention the rates of domestic abuse amongst cops. there is a statistical constant of cops either refusing to help women over rape cases, or hurting them worse when they do come in. a black trans man was just murdered.

racial bias in cops is the strongest problem with the systen right now, but make no mistake - it intersects. black trans people are at a MUCH higher risk statistically. invalidating their risk because you don't want to admit cops are also biased against gender minorities? ain't it.

this conversation doesn't need to be about us right now, but it is pride month and i refuse to fucking stand for the implication that trans people are safe from the cops. that's an insulting and dangerous idea, which is EASILY fact checked as false.

you do blm a disservice when you act like an ally and then deny the threat cops pose as a whole, when you imply that trans people and women don't face particular kinds of abuse at their hands, when you act like they don't murder trans people for being trans. all of these identities exist within black people, and you are invalidating every single one of their experiences when you make these outrageous claims.

if you refuse to acknowledge the systemic way trans people get abused and targeted and disrespected, you are refusung to acknowledge the black trans people who go through it, and you are not supporting all black lives. black trans lives matter, and they matter both on the basis of being black and being trans. acknowledge it.

Very very specifically the "they're an oppressor class" is something ppl should think long and hard about because that is not how gender works. That's not how oppression works.

Oppression works by pitting conditional privilege against oppression towards anyone who can not fit the condition. Men are not an oppressor class, men are a group who can have conditional privilege, but who can easily have it revoked and become marginalized. Often through factors entirely out of their control.

The oppression couldn't work if privilege was secure, because the fear of losing it is the driving factor for the perpetuation of it.

The tension between men and women that stems from male privilege is just another condition of a self perpetuating systen. It serves to make sure that both sides have reason to be afraid and if push comes to shove they will target each other first, in which case even if social dynamics swing around, power prevails.

And besides all of that, if you think women don't actively perpetuate the patriarchy, too, you are at best naive about the whole thing. No system keeps hold of a population if half of it doesn't participate because they, too, can gain conditional privilege, especially compared to other women and marginalized men. And the fear of losing it is the same.
