BNHA AU Idea - Let's Kill Sensei!
I just got reminded assassination classroom is a show that existed so im shamelessly cribbing the premise.
Midoriya Izuku didn't make it into the hero course. Without a quirk and only 10 rescue points - it just wasn't enough. Still, his score in the written exam saw him placed in gen ed - class 1C - with all of the other failed hero students. The classroom has an uncomfortable vibe - the recent and abrupt retirement of All Might after a villain attack on his home left him badly injured, coupled with their own failures, leave them all on edge.
To say they were expecting the man who walked into their classroom would be a mistake, but the gut wrenching fear that followed was almost expected.
All for One, the man they'd all seen nearly murder All Might 3 months ago, grinned - red eyes squinted in real mirth. "Hello, students. What on earth shall I teach you today?"
1C has 1 year to kill their homeroom teacher, or he takes over Japan. 1 year to kill a 200 year old villain with more quirks than UA has students. The student who kills AfO will be given 1 billion yen and moved to the course of their choosing.
What AfO hasn't told anyone is that he has a special gift for the student who manages to off him - if any of them do.
Featuring:
this is a deal with UA and the HPSC - UA wanted him with 3rd year heroics students while the HPSC insisted on gen ed - UA thinks the students have a chance, while the HPSC wants cannon fodder they can throw at AFO so they have extra time to plan.
the only person aware of this deal on UA staff other than Nezu is Present Mic - the man who was supposed to be gen ed's homeroom teacher. Nezu wanted to tell Eraserhead as well, but AfO argued that that was an unfair advantage to UA
gen!ed uraraka - without her rescue of Izuku, she didn't get enough points for the hero course
Dad for One - but Izuku doesn't recognize him (its been like 10 years, plus 'Hisashi Midoriya' had black hair). It's pretty clear Izuku is AfO's favourite student. but given that just means hes even tougher and like. Also a murderer. No one is particularly jealous.
Izuku, Shinso and Uraraka friendship - none of them really have anything to lose - either they are the ones to kill AfO or their lives are over.

I was thinking about Little Mouse (as I usually do), and started focusing on an aspect of it that has been pretty overlooked in the asks. The Inko/Nezu friendship.
The first post mentioned that Inko was a UA student who was taught by Nezu and obviously she made him Izuku's godfather, so they were probably close.
What course was she in? She clearly wasn't in heroics and I can't imagine her in the Support course so it was probably either Gen Ed or Management.
Was Nezu her homeroom teacher or just a random teacher who she happened to vibe with?
Was Nezu at Inko's wedding? What did he think of Hisashi before he fucked off? What did he think of Hisashi after he fucked off?
How did Nezu feel when she was put in a coma? Did he grieve for her or is he holding out hope that she's going to wake up someday?
I was picturing her as one of those two; I don't quite remember which, or if I ever decided. I did know that Nedzu was her homeroom teacher because he hadn't been promoted to Principal yet.
I don't really know because Hisashi is such a non-entity in MHA that I didn't really know where he was or why he wasn't there, only that he wasn't in Midoriya's life.
Nedzu was furious. Probably performed an Unpleasantness on the poor bastard that hurt her. He has grieved for her but he also is holding out hope for her recovery

Do you have anymore headcanons on fairy godbrother Izuru?
Izuku already had many many many different ideas for the whole class’ redesigned costume the moment he laid eyes on them. Since he deemed their costume “damaged” he was able to shape them to many different versions for reference
Momo has armor, no heels, her costume is now has powerful magnet clasps when she needs to create something big, the clasps will snap back into place, and gloves with openings on the palms to make things from there; Ochako’s belt isn’t restricting her movements, no heel, nerve bracelets to prevent her from throwing up; Eijirou has a shirt made from his DNA; Tenya’s armor is much less bulky to provide easier movement; Hagakure’s costume is made from her DNA
He and Katsuki do most of the cooking, and it often involves floating kitchen utensils and ingredients, and explosions every few seconds
His room isn’t as “Hero FanBoy” like canon, it looks more like a seamstress’ dream bedroom complete with a sewing machine, drawers of different fabrics, design books, a mannequin, and posters of heroes who aren’t in it for the fame
He will slap you if you try to hurt a mouse or bird
All Might won’t admit it… But he’s scared of him. Izuku went into a two hour rant on his costume and hair, and then asks to see his teaching license
Some of the upperclassmen will ruin their clothes and then bombard Izuku with requests to make them better. And he obliges.
Then they come back the next day with their clothes ruined again and blame him
Before his friends can jump to his defense, he just says
Izuku: Perhaps you should’ve done your homework on my Quirk. Now each of you need to buy an all new wardrobe. Unless, of course, you’d like Kacchan to blow your faces off.
During the USJ attack, it isn’t Iida who runs to safety. Izuku teleports back to Yuuei and warns the other teachers, teleporting them to the USJ two at a time because teleporting himself and more than two people at once can drain him for about ten minutes
He uses his charmspeak on the nomu and manages to get it to back down for just a few seconds, giving All Might enough time to punt it out of the building
Sports Festival Time
Izuku: *To the Gen-Ed* Oh, you must be mistaken. See, none of us asked to be cornered and nearly murdered by supervillains, and we most certainly never asked to see our teacher nearly die right in front of us. So… Yeah, if you guys want to be in the hero course, I’m happy to give up my spot so you all can see firsthand just how fun it is! I’m sure you’ll get targeted by the next villain and be forced to watch your friends lose all the life in their eyes because you’re apprehended and can’t do a thing to stop it… Now, who wants my spot?
Gen-Ed Kids: … *Run away*
Izuku: Okay! I’ll talk to you all later!
The Sports Festival is same as canon, Endeavor’s a dick, Shouto accuses Izuku being a descendant of the Fairy GodMother, Aizawa defends Katsuki, ANYGAY!
Izuku and Katsuki make it to the final round because Izuku knows how Shinsou’s quirk works. Just to be a little shit, he kisses him and teleports him outside the ring
And for Shouto, he uses his telekinesis to break apart the ice, and when he gets close enough, he heals his scar so while Shouto’s in shock, he teleports him outside the ring
Break Time!
Endeavorass reprimands Shouto on losing to someone with such a “weak quirk,” so just to be a gremlin, Izuku sends some of his mice to bite his ankles and send him running
This gains him Shouto’s respect
So… Katsuki gets first, Kaminari gets second, and Izuku gets third, yay!
Now back to more headcanons
Every morning, birds fly in through his window and help him get dressed for the day. Ochako witnessed this and took a video for the class to see
Ochako: Okay, our mission is clear… We need to protect this boy with our lives.
Class 1-A: Agreed!
Katsuki: I’ve been protecting him since we were born, pink cheeks! I don’t need any help!
Shouto: Then while you play protector, the rest of us will battle for his hand, and you can protect both of us.
Class 1-A: …
Ojiro: … HE WILL BE MINE!
*Cue fight cloud*
So now, Class 1-A is fighting over who will get to date Izuku, and things only get more competitive after he saves Eri and adopts her as his little sister before eventually becoming her unofficial mom
Meanwhile, Izuku and the Big 3 are just having tea parties with Eri in the fancy outfits Izuku made because Eri INSISTED on it
One day, Izuku accidentally uses his quirk on Midnight’s costume and it created a much better alternative with actual armor, zippers on her arms and legs, small but powerful fans in her gloves so she won’t have to whip out her hand fan, and some support for her breasts because that can’t be comfortable

Punk isn't Dead, It's Disabled
punk isn't dead, it's disabled by lightning anon
Bakugou Katsuki never thought he'd see Midoriya Izuku again. Which was fine by him. Deku had moved away in elementary school and Katsuki quickly moved on, his own high school years turning tumultuous as he adjusted suddenly to becoming disabled and an ambulatory wheelchair user. Now, as an adult, Katsuki only reflects on Deku occasionally- mostly with regret with how he treated him growing up. But that's all Deku is- a face from his past, and so is the kid Katsuki used to be. He never expected to be confronted with Deku again.
But all of a sudden green hair shows back up in his life and Katsuki realizes he has a lot more of his past to unpack then he thought he did. - ft. cripple punk Bakugou, local pride festivals, an almost completely disabled cast, and a brand new couch!

Izuku Blanc AU:
So, without anybody rekindling his heroic spirit, is All Might’s teaching style noticeably different?
Also, who is the last member of 1-A without Midoriya?
(Please don’t say Shinso. He went into the exam expecting to lose, he was a scrawny twig of a boy, and his initial characterization was definitely not the sort of person who would get any rescue points. For all that he might have a somewhat sympathetic background, he didn’t deserve to be in the hero course before a significant amount of character development.)
The Symbol of Peace is a persona, even if All Might is not. Yagi isn't very different as a teacher, though he may take even longer to improve.
I'm tempted to put in a random cameo from other media, but I'm unsure. It'll probably be one of the named Gen Ed students from canon, though.
God, fanon Shinso annoys me so much. That's part of why Clue and I have him constantly being a bitch to Izuku in IM:DD. Here's an excerpt:
“You know, you’re asking a lot of questions about my quirk when you haven’t said a thing about yours. Is it ‘fit for a villain’ like mine, or is it something flashy, and you were just too inept to pass the practical exam?” He sneered, irritation dripping from his voice. Izuku flinched. He had hoped he would’ve had more time to get to know his classmates before this question came up, to just be Izuku Midoriya, not The Quirkless Kid. Then again, this was UA High School, surely things would be better here! He’d already made a friend! And Kirishima thought he belonged in the Heroics course. Maybe Shinso would be just as friendly. Things were going to be different! “I-uh, I don’t have one. I’m quirkless,” Izuku admitted, internally proud of himself for not stumbling over the word ‘quirkless.’ Shinso stared at him for a long moment, then his lips stretched into a sneering smirk. “No wonder you’re so obsessed. Even a villainous quirk is better than nothing at all.” Izuku’s smile froze on his lips. It seems things weren’t going to be so different after all.

"I know what you are." Shota stated, breathless due to his revelation.
A gust of wind passed him, Izuku suddenly appearing at his back with the sensation. The greenette's breath warm and gentle on his nape.
"Say it." He says, voice quiet, as though sharing a dangerous secret. Shota suppressing the shiver down his spine as best he could.
"You're..." He pauses, testing the waters. Izuku's hands raising to hold his hips. Keeping him in place perhaps? Or just craving that physical contact school and hero work deprives them of.
"Say it." He encourages again, voice a little louder. More firm. His tone tickling the raven in ways he'd never considered. Never dreamt... And yet... And yet it sounds so tantalising from Izuku.
"A problem child." He finishes, suppressing his smile when Izuku squawkes in indignation.
"I'M 23!!" Izuku practically screams, thankfully having moved away the moment Shota ended his sentence. The tired man barely able to contain his laughter as his students all fall from their 'hiding' spots.
"MISSION FAILED SENSEI! WE'LL GET HIM NEXT TIME!" Ashido shouts, another gust of wind passing a moment later, leaving Shota alone in the park. Or so he thought.
"... You're evil."
"I know Hizashi. I know." He grins.

A Twilight parody fic where Aizawa is Isabelle (think that was the chicks name) trying to put up with sassy, piece of shit King Izuku as the vamp dude (I don't care enough to remember their names) who just transfered to UA as a Gen Ed teacher (he's aged up (23))
Izuku has a "vampire" quirk where drinking blood enhances his abilities, but the only one he shows off really (until he met tired class-dad Aizawa) is the twinkling in daylight ability XD
SOMEONE PLEASE ADOPT THIS AND MAKE A FIC!! I HAVEN'T SEEN TWILIGHT SO I CAN'T TAKE RANDOM SCENES AND MAKE THEM DUMB AIDEKU PARODIES!!! MY FRIENDS AND I NEED THIS!!!!

AU where class 1B believes that Izuku is afo son after the joint training, but class 1a believes in dadmight because of how those two interact and all the other secret lovechild evidence shouto picked
1-A and 1-B are at war and neither Aizawa nor Kan suspects the depth of the conflict. Blood was spilled, oaths were made, mothers were insulted. You can't go back from that.
You would think that Shouto would be the fiercest soldier of 1-A but it's actually Bakugou, just because he refuses the idea of Deku being related to All for One. Is it because he is still traumatized from Kamino and anything reminding him of AFO gives him nightmares? Is it because he bullied Izuku for ten years and he is aware that if his dad is really the guy who flattened Kamino and almost killed All Might, he is in for a world of pain? You decide.
One time, it escalated to an all-out brawl in the hallways of UA and both the homeroom teachers and Midnight were called to stop it. No one snitched as to why the fight broke out but it was actually because after Kendo showed her 28 slides long Powerpoint about the DFO theory, Ashido just said "Excuse me but you're wrong. Midoriya Hisashi has a fire breathing quirk."
They think Midoriya isn't aware of the war or what it's about but he knows. He just pretends not to and plays dumb.
The Gen Ed tried to break out peace by advancing the theory that both All Might and AFO are Izuku's dads but the hero course isn't interested in compromise. As far as they are concerned, peace was never an option.

Izuku is either Aizawa's younger brother or his nephew (up to you) AU
So I've read/seen a couple of au's where Izuku is Aizawa's nephew so we're going with the younger brother route for this!!
- Aina Aizawa was a lovely woman, and passionate mother of two son's thirteen year old Shota and four month old Isamu.
- unfortunately Aina had always had rather fragile health and quickly fell ill after birth of her second son.
- leaving her eldest to care for his brother. Not that he minded Shota loved his brother and it was only till his mother got better. It was the heroic thing to do.
- Aina did not get better, she grew worse and worse until one autumn day she passed away.
- the boy's father seemed to hold no love for the boys. All his love had been for Aina, the only reason he had kids was because Aina had always wanted to be a mother.
- so in his grief for his wife he gave up the children.
- the brothers were quickly separated in the foster care system.
- six month old Isamu was adopted almost right away to couple who could not have children of their own and changed the baby's name to Izuku Midoriya.
- Shota Aizawa was thrown from foster home to foster home with the dream of one day becoming a hero and reuniting with his baby brother.
- As the years go by Shota makes it into UA's gen Ed course before transferring into it's hero course.
- Izuku's quirk comes in. Freeze; a quirk that allows Izuku to prevent someone from moving if they're in his direct line of sight. They unfreeze when he blinks.
- Shota loses one of his close friends.
- Izuku's friends turn their backs on him because of his 'villainous' quirk.
- Shota becomes an underground hero but is unable to unseal his brothers records nor find him.
- and many years later Izuku is attacked by villain leading him to meet All Might and inheriting OFA.
- they reunite at UA without even realizing it. Izuku unaware that he has a brother and Shota too tired of being disappointed pass like strangers.
- teacher and student, instead of long lost brothers.

Danger First Chapter 13
@pocketramblr
Thank you for everyone who suggested names! They were very helpful for this chapter.
.
Midoriya Hisashi lived and worked overseas, coming home to Japan only rarely. His job had bounced him to every continent, and he’d even been to Antarctic City. It was taxing work, but he enjoyed it, and, most importantly, it allowed him to provide for his beautiful wife and wonderful son, who he loved more than anyone or anything else in the entire world.
That description was true except for one desperately important point: Midoriya Hisashi did not so much have a job as a sprawling criminal empire.
But sprawling criminal empires sure were hard work!
Especially when you had your face literally punched off by your unfortunately-smarter-than-he-looked heroic nemesis. Curse All Might, his entire family line, and the family lines of anyone who happened to succeed him.
It had really been looking like Hisashi had successfully suckered him into dying without passing One for All on, but then his stupid smiles had become more genuine, and he’d started teaching at that stupid school, and well… one thing had led to another, and Hisashi could only reach the conclusion that All Might had picked a successor at the absolute least convenient time for Hisashi. That is, the same year his beloved son, Izuku, started high school at that very same stupid school.
Now, without a quirk, Izuku wasn’t going to become a hero. Society as a whole was too bigoted, a fact Hisashi was grateful for. So grateful, in fact, that he only tortured to death those bigots who direcly laid a hand on his son, rather than starting at the top of the refuse heap known as the Hero Commission and working his way down.
However, despite this, Izuku was naturally brilliant enough for even the imbeciles at UA to recognize. Was Hisashi happy with this? Not exactly. It meant that he had to plan around his son while looking for All Might’s successor. But if Izuku hadn’t been admitted… On some level, it saddened Hisashi that he wouldn’t be able to use the plans he’d made for members of the admissions board in the case that they did reject his son.
Anyway, Hisashi could plan around Izuku being in gen ed, or management, or support, or business, or…
Hisashi was, admittedly, somewhat ashamed that he hadn’t managed to ask Izuku exactly which of the courses he’d gotten into. He’d been… not sulking. Supervillains did not sulk. He’d been… less than thrilled about Izuku’s admission, and he hadn’t wanted to ruin Izuku’s celebration, so… He just let Izuku ramble on about the hated school in that adorable and endearing way of his, without commenting.
He had not been sulking.
But, secure in the knowledge that Izuku was not in the hero course, Hisashi could simply arrange things so that any attacks on All Might, the hero course, other people at UA that annoyed him, etc., didn’t involve any of the non-hero-course first years. So, he sent his minions (Kurogiri, Tomura, others whose names he hadn’t bothered to remember) to go find a time that the hero course would be nice and far away from anyone he actually liked (Izuku).
To Hisashi’s great cheer, they’d seemingly managed to find the perfect venue for Tomura’s debut. A hero course field trip to the USJ with All Might!
But Hisashi had forgotten the incompetence of said minions.
Somehow, they’d confused the hero class with Izuku’s class. All Might, the practical heroics teacher, hadn’t even been there!
Needless to say, Izuku had wiped the floor with Tomura. Tomura, versus Hisashi’s son? It wasn’t a contest, really.
Hisashi didn’t have details about how Izuku had managed it, Tomura had mentioned something about ‘green children,’ and that one of them had a frog quirk and the other could fly, but neither of those matched Izuku. Unlike the strained phone call from Inko and the brief conversation he’d had with an exhausted Izuku.
After those calls Hisashi had almost decided to kill Tomura, regardless of how much he'd invested in him. How in the world had they managed to mix up the courses like that? Yes, Hisashi hadn't caught the mistake, either, but then he was blind and unable to read the itinerary Tomura had stolen. It was hardly his fault!
So. Yes. Hard work. Hard, stressful work, and he couldn't even go home to complain to his wife about it, because of the aforementioned face-punching-off incident.
Tragic.
Which is why he felt no guilt whatsoever about brushing off the good doctor to answer a call from his home phone number. Not that he would have felt guilt, anyway. It, along with shame, wasn't an emotion he experienced.
… Except with regards to still not knowing exactly which course Izuku was in.
… And, possibly, never being home.
But that was it!
"Midoriya Hisashi speaking," he said, smoothly into the receiver.
.
"Holy crap," said Banjo. "It is him."
"Hey," said En, kicking at and missing Hikage's ankles, "why isn't Danger Sense making Nine freak out?"
"Most likely because he isn't in any danger."
"Y'know, if this is 'no danger,' I'm shocked that Danger Sense is working for him at all."
.
"HI, Dad!" said Izuku. "Sorry to call at a weird time. You- you aren't busy, are you?"
"Not at all," said Hisashi, ignoring the doctor in front of him and the crime against humanity, science, and reason they were supposed to be animating on the table in-between them. "Today has been unexpectedly slow."
"Oh, good. I was wondering if you could help me with something?"
"Of course," said Hisashi. For a moment, he let himself hope that his son had finally killed that explosive brat, Bakugo. He mentally cycled through quirks that he could use to cover up the deed. "What do you need?"
"It's for school. You know the sports festival is coming up soon."
"Ah, yes," said Hisashi. Some of the best quirk window shopping there was. He'd tried to get Eraserhead's after his performance, but his first attempts hadn’t gone well, and he'd been forced to abandon the project. "What do you need? Who needs to be eviscerated?"
.
"No, really, how is this guy not registering as evil?"
.
Izuku giggled. "Well, this year, they’re having everybody pick hero names beforehand."
Hisashi felt his heart stop. Using a quirk he had acquired for just such a purpose, he kicked it back on and waved off the doctor. "Everyone?" he asked, desperation expertly masked. "Including the non-hero courses?"
"Ye-yes," said Izuku. "I was wondering- I was wondering if you could help me with figuring one out. I- I mean, my friends gave me lots of good options, but, um."
"I suppose your teachers vetoed Small Might?" Hisashi teased, gently.
"Don't remind me," groaned Izuku. "I didn't even bring it up."
.
"He kind of did, though," said En.
Nana shrugged. "He crossed it out. It hardly counts." Then, undercutting her argument, she mumbled, "All Might is a great name."
The others nodded, some because they agreed, and some because they didn't want to wind up on the same side as All for One.
"If he tries to give Izuku a stupid villain name, I'm going to tear his throat out with my teeth."
"I thought you tried that already," said Hikage.
"Third…"
"Hey! You actually did try to do that!" Third protested from his hiding spot.
"Does it really matter?" asked Nana. "You're a ghost."
"I'll haunt him, then."
"Now, I know we've all tried that one."
.
"Hm," said Hisashi, "why don't you tell me what your classmates came up with, first?"
"Ah, well." There was the sound of shuffling paper. "They had Strawberry, Marimo, Rabbit, Wonder, Augur and Auspex."
Marimo was obvious enough. The others, however… "Strawberry?"
"Because of what I look like when I'm blushing, I think. I'm just glad it isn't tomato or something… Marimo's kind of the same thing. You- you know, my hair?"
"And Wonder is because you're wonderful?"
"Noooo, Dad. Todoroki didn't mean it like that. It's a play on, um. Wonderland. Like, the Rabbit of Wonderland?"
"The one who is always late? I do hope you're getting to school on time."
"Dad! I'm on time. They just think my, um. You know, the All Might antenna on my hood look like rabbit ears. And they think I'm bouncy, I guess?"
So, Izuku was still wearing those awful novelty hoodies. Not that Hisashi had expected otherwise. It was still disappointing.
"And the last two? Augur and Auspex?"
"Those are because of my quirk," said Izuku.
"Your what?"
There were only two possible avenues for a quirkless person to develop a quirk. As Hisashi had decided against repeating the mistake he'd made with his brother, that left one.
One for All.
All Might.
All for One was halfway out of the facility before Izuku answered.
"O-oh! I guess I never talked to you about it, because it manifested at the USJ. Sorry, I was just so exhausted after everything…"
"It isn't your fault, Izuku," said Hisashi. No, it was All Might's. What, was the irresponsible idiot so convinced he was about to be killed by the noumu that he passed the quirk to the closest child? If so, he was even weaker than he'd thought! "What is it like?"
"It, um, it's a stockpile quirk! We think that's why I never could activate it before. It stockpiles danger and releases it as personal levitation. The USJ just… pushed it over into critical mass."
That… wasn't One for All.
Hisashi killed a lab technician who had the misfortune of being close enough to hear part of his conversation and casually dumped them out of their chair so he could drop into it. He'd experienced the phenomenon of having his bones turned to powder before, but now they felt practically liquid.
He was still going to murder All Might, though. Just not right now.
"That might be why I'm so anxious, too- I can feel the stockpile when it gets bigger."
"Fascinating," said Hisashi. He could see how it might come about. All for One was, technically speaking, a stockpile quirk, and both personal levitation and Attract would be telekinesis type quirks… And since Hisashi was a first generation quirk user, odd quirk mutations were to be expected. “I recall your mother mentioning that her biological mother had a quirk like that. Something to do with flying.”
“Grandma’s quirk is Green Thumb, though,” said Izuku.
“Your grandmother’s, yes,” said Hisashi, shuddering at the memory of that formidable woman. The fact that he couldn’t kill her without upsetting his wife was criminal.
Well. So was he, but, really, what was the point of being a being of ultimate evil if you couldn’t be a hypocrite, too?
Not that he was a being of ultimate evil. Yet. It was a work in progress. There were some travesties he hadn’t stooped to, yet. Like taunting All Might with Shimura’s grandson. Oh, and sexual crimes, he supposed, but those didn’t seem fun at all, so he was inclined to skip them.
“But,” continued Hisashi, “your mother was adopted. She only has her biological parents’ general quirk and medical history.” Hisashi could have uncovered more, of course, but if Inko didn’t care, neither did he.
Although, with such a strange quirk manifestation from Izuku, maybe he should. Just in case.
“Oh,” said Izuku, quietly. “I didn’t know that.”
“Ah,” said Hisashi. “Perhaps… don’t mention this to your mother?”
That earned Hisashi a faint but genuine chuckle. “I won’t tell if you don’t.” Izuku paused. “Assuming she isn’t listening in on the line.”
.
“On one level, I’m surprised that Nine’s mom would do that,” said Nana, “on the other, she did marry this bastard, so…”
“Speaking of Mrs. Midoriya’s family,” said Hikage, “don’t you think it’s an interesting coincidence that her mother has a quirk similar to yours?”
“Yeah, that’s pretty convenient, isn’t it? I was half convinced we were screwed the minute Nine picked up the phone to dial.”
Focused as Nana was on the conversation, she did not notice Banjo wrapping Hikage in Blackwhip and dragging him away.
.
“You think she might do that?” asked Hisashi, nervously. He nudged the cooling body of the technician with his toe.
“I think you offered to kill people for us too many times, or something,” said Izuku. “She said she wanted to make sure you weren’t giving me the wrong idea about things.”
Hisashi remembered that conversation, come to think about it, but it was more about Hisashi’s rather… vocal distaste for heroes than killing people. Alas, that Izuku took neither talking point seriously.
“I see,” said Hisashi. “You’ve gotten a quirk counselor, I hope?” Oh, how Hisashi wished he could guide Izuku himself! Maybe take the quirk for a test drive. He’d give it back, of course, it would just be a minute…
“Mhm, my teacher has a license!”
Hisashi shook himself out of the fantasy. “Good, good. Now, you wanted help with names.” The only way he’d get through this is if he considered them to be villain names, not hero names. “In keeping with the theme of the last two, might I suggest Omen?”
“That sounds more like a villain name.”
Drat. Izuku was always too smart for games like that. “If you want something undeniably heroic, how about Skywalker?”
“Would that make you Darth Vader?” joked Izuku.
“Please, I would be far more successful!” Especially on the ‘living forever with one’s loved ones’ front, although he supposed he could take a loss in the ‘tempted one’s children to evil’ category.
“Considering Anakin Skywalker, I think it’s a bit tainted, anyway.”
.
“He’s not even hiding it!” complained En. “He’s basically stating that he’s evil outright!”
“This is why we didn’t want this kid as our ninth,” said Third.
“Shut up,” growled Yoichi. “You don’t get to talk, since you turned me into a folktale postmortem.”
“Maybe you should have done more actually cool things when you were alive, then!”
Yoichi gasped, offended.
“Like, seriously, what kind of moron manages to miss this kind of evil metaphorically punching them in the face? Even if it is a family member?”
Yoichi gasped, offended.
“Oh,” said Third, belatedly remembering who he was talking to. “Oops.”
“Can you guys be quiet?” snapped Nana. “This is important!”
.
“Ah, well,” said Hisashi. “It was worth a try. Continuing with fortune telling, Tarot?”
“Like the cards? That’s kind of far away from what my quirk can actually do.”
“Yes, but that can be a good thing. You don’t want to be too straightforward.” Even if he only wound up using it once. “Risk, then, or Clover? Both reference luck, and Clover again ties back to your appearance.”
“I kind of like Clover,” said Izuku, “and Risk sounds cool.” There was a pause as Izuku wrote something down. “It sounds like you have more?” Izuku’s voice tilted up hopefully at the end.
“A few,” said Hisashi. “Apollo, a Greek god of prophecy also associated with spaceflight.” Izuku made an interested sound. “Comet, a ball of ice and space dust that was considered an omen of ill fortune to come.” Hisashi sighed. “Then, if you prefer the rabbit theme--” something Hisashi hoped was not the case; he didn’t want his son to have even an obscure homage to All Might in his name, “--Caerbannog or Gyokuto are appropriate.”
“... Isn’t Caerbannog the man-eating rabbit from that one ancient movie with King Arthur?”
“It may be.”
“We aren’t allowed to name ourselves after movie villains.”
“What’s the fun in that?”
Izuku laughed. “You sound like Ashido,” he said. “She wanted to name herself Alien Queen.”
“She sounds like she has good taste.”
"She does," said Izuku. "You've given me a lot to think about."
"I certainly hope so," said Hisashi. "I could also help with assuring your dominance over your enemies. Bakugo Katsuki is in one of the hero courses, yes?"
"I- I'll be- I'll be okay, Dad. Plus, you never take stuff like this seriously."
While Izuku couldn't be blamed for not knowing about Hisashi's less-than-legal activities, the statement still hurt. Hisashi's offers of massacring Izuku's rivals were always serious!
"You told me I should go ahead and break Kacchan's arms to establish superiority when I was eight. Who does that?"
.
"Yes, Ninth," said En. "Who does that indeed?"
"He's so close but so far away," mourned Nana.
.
"He would have recovered."
"There you go again," said Izuku with a slight laugh. "My friends and I are working on a plan to win, don't worry!"
Ah, Izuku was collecting minions. Excellent. UA graduates were often sho-ins for positions of power and importance. Making a network early on would help him later.
"I should probably let you go if you're still at work," said Izuku, a little sadly.
"Mhm," said Hisashi, aware of the need to keep his cover as a normal businessman. "I'll call at the normal time and we can talk more, alright?"
"Okay. I love you, Dad."
"I love you, too. And Izuku?"
"Yeah?"
"You are a wonder. Never let anyone tell you otherwise."
.
Izuku frowned down at the spreadsheet of names and their respective pros and cons in front of him. It was very large.
He sighed. "I'm going to have to sleep on this."
.
Yoichi clapped his hands. "So, are we all in agreement that we cannot let Izuku pick a name my brother came up with?"
"Sure," said En, "but it's not like we can do anything about it."
"We could give him Blackwhip about it," said Banjo. "That would screw up all of his ideas."
"We're not doing that," said Yoichi, serenely. "My plan is to hope we have some influence over Izuku's subconscious and scream at him not to take any of my brother's evil names."
"All night?" asked Nana, resignation carved deep into her face.
"That's what it takes."
"Wouldn't it be better to scream a name we do like at him?" suggested Hikage. "A single, simple, message is more likely to connect."
"I like the way you think," said Yoichi.
"Oh, no," mumbled Nana, "I see what's coming."
"So, what name do we like?" continued Yoichi, oblivious to the coming disaster.
"It can't be Strawberry," said En, quickly. "Ichigo is the wrong number."
"Singularity!" shouted Banjo.
"Nine would be the right number," continued En. "But a hero can't be named suffering…"
“Naming him Nine would be counterproductive in the ‘let’s not get Ninth murdered by All for One’ department,” said Nana.
“If it helps,” said Yoichi, “I think he’s more likely to get vaulted.”
“Like a ceiling?” asked Hikage.
“Troubleshoot!” yelled Banjo. “Danger Fist! Harbinger!”
“A ceiling?”
“A vaulted ceiling.”
“Reflex! Nemesis!”
“Dude,” said En. “Nemesis isn’t a very heroic name.”
“What,” said Yoichi, “do you think vaulted ceilings have to do with this?”
“I don’t know,” said Hikage. “You brought them up. I thought maybe he had a quirk for them.”
“For vaulted ceilings?”
“Yes.”
“Black Cat! Magpie! Nexus! Versatile!”
“You do remember that the name has to make sense with One for All as it currently is, right?” asked Nana.
“How about Sixth Sense?” said En.
“You just want your number to come up again,” accused Banjo.
“My number came up almost as long ago as yours, old man.”
“That doesn’t even make sense!”
“Okay, so, when I say vaulting I mean bank vaults. Imprisonment. Isolation.”
“I see,” said Hikage.
Yoichi nodded, then sighed as he realized the other ghosts had dissolved into chaos. “This is going to take a while, isn’t it?”
.
“Hi, Mr. Yagi! How are you today?” asked Izuku, having run into his mentor outside the teacher’s lounge.
Mr. Yagi took a long, slow sip of coffee. “I had a very strange dream about people yelling at me to change my hero name.”
“Huh,” said Izuku. “What did they want you to change it to?”
“Either Troubleshoot or Troubleshot. It was… strange.” He shook himself. “But what brings you here so early in the morning, my boy?”
“I was hoping to talk to Ms. Kayama,” said Izuku. “I think I’ve got my hero name pinned down, but I’d like to talk to her about it, first!” He held up the paperwork for submitting his hero name.
“Oh! That’s wonderful,” said Mr. Yagi. “May I see?”
“Sure!” said Izuku, turning the paper around so Mr. Yagi could see it.
He fluffed Izuku’s hair. “I think that suits you very well, young Midoriya! I’ll go see if Ms. Kayama is here, alright?”
.
Unfortunately, the past users of One for All were not listening to the conversation. This was less because they had worn themselves out from shouting, and more because Izuku’s choice of name had shown that all their efforts to communicate were useless and they were wallowing in self-pity. It was a whole thing.
.
Kurogiri’s wounds had healed acceptably, with the doctor none the wiser. So, as usual when he wasn’t rescuing Tomura from trouble, helping the doctor in the lab, engaging in miscellaneous criminal activities, or giving random small-time villains alcohol poisoning, he was doing housework, tidying up the hideout.
It quickly became apparent that Kurogiri wasn’t very good at tidying. Cleaning in general, really.
It was equally obvious that Kurogiri was also the only one that even tried to clean the hideout.
(In the back of his mind, Kurogiri thought it… odd… that these two thoughts felt so newly discovered. He and Tomura had been here for years. He should have already known this.)
Yes, he couldn’t expect his master to clean, that was ridiculous, and the doctor was rarely here. But Tomura… No, no, not Tomura. But Kurogiri wasn’t the only minion to ever inhabit this place. Most of the others were dead now, but even when Kurogiri had been alive he’d helped with classroom cleaning and kept the apartment clean.
Wait, what?
Regardless, this was no place to raise a child. Not that Tomura was a child anymore, nor was Kurogiri, which…
Kurogiri had never been a child.
In the context of sanitation, the hideout was wretched. That was the point of this.
Dispirited, Kurogiri wrung out the mop, nearly black water drizzling into the small plastic bucket he’d scrounged up. Maybe he’d be better at cleaning if he had better supplies. It was like they wanted Tomura to grow up in soul-crushing squalor.
They who?
It would be better for Tomura to have grown up somewhere else, somewhere safe, away from them.
Kurogiri pressed a hand to his head, and then his neck. No.
It wasn’t too late--
Kurogiri slammed his hand against the corner of the hall, where two off the walls came together. There was a satisfying, agonizing click in his wrist and some of the paint on the wall flaked off, revealing a metal bracket. Kurogiri breathed shallowly, listening. The only sound in the hideout was the faint music from one of Tomura’s games.
It was Kurogiri’s job to protect and nurture Tomura, to help him carry out his goals. Yes. And to do that…
Kurogiri leaned the mop against the wall. Tomura couldn’t carry out his goals alone. His goals which were… His goals. Defeating All Might. That was at least a goal.
Tomura would need allies.
Kurogiri teleported himself up to the bar. Allies. He would need-- The nomu were right there, weren’t they?
They weren’t enough, though, they weren’t right. Had Tomura ever had friends? He must have. Even if they were just online friends. He mustn't have. Sensei would never allow it.
It troubled Kurogiri that he couldn’t remember.
He’d get some friends for Tomura.

Ask Game:
Izuku joins the Management course at UA.
Midoriya knew he wasn't going to pass the Heroics Course Entrance Exam, but he knows that you can be transferred from another course. He doesn't want to be in Gen Ed which has nothing Hero related in the course material, and he doesn't know the head of a screwdriver from the handle so Support is out. That leaves Management.
It turns out that Midoriya is actually... really good at it? Those notebooks that he's been writing all his life, with observations about Quirk use, super moves, costumes, rebranding, etc. is a lot of the stuff they do in Management. Sure there's business-related work and all kinds of math, but that's some number crunching! He can do that!
There was no Sludge Villain incident. All Might is still looking for a successor. He's currently a Heroics Teacher at UA, but not restricted to any one year as he's getting a bit desperate. This also means he isn't the primary Heroics teacher of any year. He's surprised during a routine training exercise before the Sports Festival when an observing Management Student runs in to help with a Quirk accident.
There's one small problem: while Midoriya is 110% down to get One For All and be a Hero... these past few weeks in Management have been some of the best in his life. Perhaps he can Dual-Course? That's a thing the Support Course can do, right?
Midoriya's work in Management means he was well-prepared for the Sports Festival, and while he can't really control One For All, he's got a lot of ideas on how he can be creative with it.

Also a Failure to Explode Snippet
Noriko knows that there’s no chance this is going to be an enjoyable three years.
When Nedzu had forwarded an ‘applicant of concern’ to the HPSC, she’d been surprised. The UA principal is not a…being who normally trusts or has vague faith in them, but once she’d seen the results she understood. Excellent academic scores, glowing recommendations from teachers, and the highest score UA had ever seen out of a general applicant, even outdoing All Might.
However, that was tempered by his non-existent rescue points, wisely denying him acceptance to the school.
In a rather morbid way, the utter mess with Starheart was proving useful. Previously, UA would have accepted the boy without a second thought. Oh, maybe one or two teachers would have expressed concern over the lack of rescue points, but the sheer strength of the Quirk, and the idea he could be groomed into understanding heroics is more than just blowing things up would have made up for it.
After a week of dealing with the boy, she’s skeptical UA would have been able to accomplish that. Maybe she’s being a tad harsh, but she’s seen almost no sort of ‘heroic attitude’ from him, just competitive and angry. It could be possible the anger is simply a result of his failure to get into UA, while a classmate by the name of Midoriya Izuku had succeed (and she is a bit amused by him getting in on nothing but rescue points, but frankly that was of lesser concern that only getting in with villain points).
Her sympathy is non-existent for Bakugou.
Maybe she would have had sympathy if he’d been denied acceptance from multiple schools for failing the new rescue requirement. Maybe she’d have sympathized had he been a spot in UA’s Gen Ed track due to his concerning results during the heroic practical.
She has no sympathy for a boy too arrogant to bother applying anywhere else or having any sort of backup plan. She’s seen hints that his arrogance may have been broken by his failure, but she’s skeptical. After all there are other means of being trained to be a hero, such as the post-high school programs or apprenticeships, but she’s also skeptical he’d be capable of passing the licensing exam. That was far more stringent for adults and apprentices. He’d probably fail the rescue portion there too.

@musicfeedsmysoul12 and @lurking96 this is both of y’all’s fault with that thread about how too many fics where Izuku jumps, gets a quirk and just make Bakugo regret it without any actual character change. Just: Izuku goes splat, and now Bakugo is an uwu soft boy who’s really sorry but had no character development visible.
Y’all both get some of the blame for this fic outline I created after a bang, chocolate, and on 2 hours of sleep. It’s still a really rough outline and I don’t have time to polish it up into an actual outline, draft, then fic with my summer classes and job right now. Enjoy my stream of thought with no filter
The Ripple
Izuku has a concussion from Bakugo attacking him at school so his eyesight is off. Everything else is the same up to when All Might leaves him on the roof.
The concussion fucked with his vision, balance, and depth perception. So he ended up accidentally stepping off the side of the building. (Hush, I know that there’s a railing. We’re pretending that when All Might jumped away from Izuku on the roof, he accidentally took like half of it with him.)
Crash, boom, blood. Ambulance carted him off to the hospital and that’s the last we see of Izuku for a while.
They don’t know that All Might was the one who got him up to the rooftop because the notebook with the signature was blown off the roof and into the river. By the time that it was found, it was nothing but mush and the writing was illegible, all runny and blurry. They also just assumed that a villain ripped the railing off in a previous battle and the owner hadn’t gotten it fixed yet.
Inko tells Mitsuki that they think it was suicide because he couldn’t have accidentally gotten up on the roof (No evidence of All Might). Katsuki hears that but refuses to tell anyone that he told Izuku to jump off a roof because that could hurt his chances of being a hero.
Entrance Exam
Fast-forward to the entrance exam, everything proceeds as canon except for the bits with Izuku, which never happened.
Uraraka is stuck under the boulder with the zero pointer bearing down on her. Canon shows no evidence of any pro except Present Mic at the site, and he was last seen at the gates so he isn’t close by to Uraraka.
Uraraka couldn’t escape from the boulder in time and the kill switch takes up to 30 seconds to receive and process. So, the robot steps on the boulder and crushes her leg. She’s rushed to Recovery Girl but the damage is so severe that they have to amputate a leg.
As compensation, UA takes care of all the medical bills and offers her a spot in the Hero Course at UA with her entire tuition paid for all 3 years. Uraraka accepts to make it easier financially on her parents, so she shows up to the first day of classes with a prosthetic leg that she painted pink in an effort to make it less sad.
Quirk Assessment
A random extra is put into 1-A, but they and Mineta are promptly expelled. The extra just didn’t try at all, relying upon the idea that the teacher wouldn’t actually expel anyone on the first day. Mineta was just too pervy/not heroic enough so he got the boot.
Aizawa was reminded of the death of Oboro when Uraraka nearly got crushed, so he’s on high alert to expel those that he believes would never be good at heroics/ would just get themselves killed. Extra not trying and Mineta just focusing on being a perv, made him convinced they would get killed so he just expelled them straight away [No readmission for them]
This shocked Momo who thought he was bluffing and made her more cognizant of the fact that not everyone plays by the same rules as her.
Battle Trial
Battle trials happen. Momo and Uraraka are paired up together and fight twice in the trials. They won both times because Uraraka floated the bomb and Momo in the fight against Todoroki so that it was impossible for Todoroki to capture them. They win against Iida and Bakugo because Uraraka takes advantage of Iida’s unwillingness to hurt someone he views as disabled/helpless and knocks him out with a bat from Momo, then touches the bomb, Momo just created water and soaked Bakugo so he couldn’t use his Quirk and then ran from him.
All other trials proceeded as in canon.
USJ
Since Tsuyu is the only one in the Water Zone [Midoriya not in the story and Mineta expelled], she just went straight for the shore and got back to the entry area via the river. She witnesses the entire beatdown of Aizawa and his fighting, so she’s very traumatized. But because she’s amphibious and is completely underwater [In my hcs, she can breathe underwater as long as water can access most of her skin. So her suit is very permeable and water can get through it], Shigaraki never sees her and so he doesn’t try to kill her.
Rest of the USJ goes as canon dictates including Aizawa getting his head smashed by the Nomu
Sports Festival
Because 1-A has 2 less students, only the first 40 to get to the finish line can pass on. Todoroki ended up getting first place by icing over Bakugo’s legs at the tunnel entrance. Everyone else that originally passed in canon, also passed.
All the teams are the same, except for Uraraka’s team which doesn’t have Midoriya, and Shoji’s who doesn’t have Mineta.
Bakugo is going after Todoroki instead of Uraraka’s team because he’s focused on snagging the winning headband.
Uraraka uses her Quirk on her team and they just hang out in the sky for awhile, since after the boulder, she practiced to be able to lift more weight so that never happens again.
Shoji’s team is the same as canon, especially because Mineta never actually did anything important to the team.
Todoroki never uses his fire because he used his ice to create a dome that kept everyone else away from his team. Bakugo runs around stealing other headbands since he can’t get to Todoroki.
At the end of the round, Todoroki is in first, Bakugo is second, Uraraka is third and Shinso is fourth.
Ojiro and Shoda both drop out citing the fact that they couldn’t remember the event as the reason. Shiozaki Ibara and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu replace them
So now we have the 1v1 battles with the following students.
Uraraka Ochako
Tokoyami Fumikage
Hatsume Mei
Bakugo Katsuki
Kirishima Eijiro
Ashido Mina
Sero Hanta
Todoroki Shoto
Iida Tenya
Yaoyorozu Momo
Kaminari Denki
Shinso Hitoshi
Aoyama Yuga
Shiozaki Ibara
Tetsutetsu Tetsutestu
Shinso gets a free pass onto the next round because he is a gen ed student so they wanted to allow him the best chance possible and it’s better for the optics of UA for watchers to see a hero student beating up another hero student instead of a gen ed kid.
Todoroki v. Sero -Todoroki won ala iceberg
Kaminari v. Shiozaki -Kaminari won by sending electricity through her hair and knocking her out because Aizawa forced him to start thinking outside of the box after he nearly died during the USJ [shiozaki has to have nerves to control her vines and nerves have electricity traveling through them. So they’re a conductor and Kaminari can send his electricity down them]
Iida v. Hatsume -He doesn’t accept her gadgets and just pushes her out of bounds. After the Uraraka debacle in his battle trial, he realizes that he can’t just go off his perceptions and has to be wary of them.
Ashido v. Aoyama - Ashido won
Tokoyami v. Yaoyorozu - Yaoyorozu won by creating an explosion of light and blinding them, then pushing them out of the ring. Uraraka taught her to take advantage of what she can do and Aizawa forced her to realize that others don’t have the same rules.
Tetsutetsu v. Kirishima - Kirishima won by charging Tetsutetsu and knocking him out of the ring. Again Aizawa forced him to not just behave as a shield because of the USJ
Uraraka v. Bakugo -Uraraka won by taking off her prosthetic, leaving it as a decoy and floating herself so that he couldn’t hear her coming, and the dust from his explosions had blinded him. She tackled him from above and hurled him out of bounds. He got a concussion and Recovery Girl forced him to stay in the infirmary.
Todoroki v. Shinso -Shinso won by coming after Todoroki’s weak spot and making him talk
Iida v. Kaminari -Kaminari won by shocking Iida’s engines when he tried to grab him. Made him collapse, and then just dragged him out of bounds.
Tokoyami v. Ashido- Tokoyami won by Dark Shadow kicking her out of bounds
Uraraka v. Kirishima -Uraraka won by preying on Kirishima’s desire for manliness and to not hurt a girl. Got close enough to float him and then just push him out of bounds. Aizawa has plans to lecture Kirishima about when to be manly and when to not be.
Shinso v. Kaminari -Shinso won. He could tell that Kaminari was a memelord, so he just took advantage of that and said a meme that Kaminari couldn’t resist completing. [Don’t know what yet, I’ll figure it out later]
Tokoyami v. Uraraka -Tokoyami won. Uraraka lost because she couldn’t use her Quirk on Dark Shadow and Dark Shadow was the one to attack her. [See doc of quirk analysis for more in depth in case we forget]
Shinso v. Tokoyami -Shinso won by mirroring Tokoyami’s speech patterns which knocked him off guard and got him caught into Shinso’s Quirk.
Shinso got first place, Tokoyami got second, Uraraka and Kaminari shared third place.
Hero names
Todoroki -Shoto
Bakugo -King Explosion
Iida -Tenya
Uraraka -Weightless [As a pun on weigh less because of her amputation and her quirk. She’s not quite as bubbly and didn’t feel like uravity reflected her anymore]
Tsuyu -Froppy
Kirishima -Red Riot
Yaoyorozu -Creati [I really want to change this but I don’t know to whaaaat!!! I’ll come back to it later]
Tokoyami -Tsukuyomi
Jiro -EarJack
Shinso -Silencer [Stupid but his quirk makes people silent plus I love MLB silencer design of the , not the helmet tho that is ugly looking and the coloring needs to be more muted imo]
Internships
Shinso gets an internship with Aizawa to assess whether or not he’s fit for heroics. Aizawa also prescreens all of his students' internships to make sure that it’s a good fit for them. [He’s a lot more protective of where they because he wants them to be actually learning useful heroics not shit like how to clean and pose for a camera.]
Mirko offers an internship to Uraraka because she wanted to teach a fighting girl that was perceived as helpless by society. [Society views disabled as helpless, a girl is also viewed as helpless, both is bad combination. Mirko wants to prove anyone can be badass with the right training]
Yaoyorozu gets put with Fatgum because Aizawa sees that she’s struggling with the fat part of her Quirk and knows that if she went with Uwabami, she’d develop more insecurities. [Uwabami is a TV actress/model. She’ll pass on weight/beauty related insecurities because that’s what a lot of actresses have and she seems focused more on a fanbase]
Kirishima goes with Rock Lock to be faced with the blunt truth that ideals are nice, but you can’t have them rule your life as a hero. [Canonly, he’s very blunt and pragmatic, so he’d believe that trying to be manly is fine, but there is a time and place for it.]
Everyone else goes with their canon internships.
The Nomus attack Hosu. Because Gran Torino isn’t there, the Nomus are more dangerous and more civilians die. All the heroes are focused exclusively on managing the Nomus and the interns kinda fall to the wayside since they can’t do anything.
Iida slips away and Manual is too busy putting out fires to notice.
Iida runs off and finds Stain. Battle commences and Iida loses.
Stain calls him and Native fake heroes. Native gets a sliced throat. Stain is a little more lenient with Iida because he is a kid. He goes through the fabric pants and slices the femoral artery to the bone. [Femoral artery cuts can lead to death within minutes especially with Iida running on adrenaline which kicks up the blood pressure and rate of bleeding.]
Endeavour comes through with Shoto burning all the nomus and destroying them. Finally the city is quiet and the search for the dead begins.
Every hero in Hosu grid searched the entire city to retrieve the dead and bring them to the morgue for claiming.
Manual was the one to find his dead intern and Native. He had to call UA and tell them that he got a student killed while under his supervision. He gets blacklisted by UA and Aizawa puts out a warning on the Underground network that if others are under his care, that he might lose track of them.
Once everyone returned from their internships, they left red spider lilies on his desk as a way to guide him to the afterlife.
Training Camp
The villains still want Bakugo because they saw his aggression, violence, and determination to be the best during the sports festival and the internships. So they think he’d be an easy switch to flip.
This time, Aizawa doesn’t dump them out in the middle of the forest because he’s focusing on forcing his students to interact and bond with each other instead of doing their own thing. So they all stay on the bus and Aizawa makes them talk about something semi-important with a seat partner for 10 minutes before switching so that everyone talks to more than just their friend groups.
When they arrive, Kota is his bratty self and Aizawa shuts that down fast. He tells him that he has two options, one: stay with his aunts and uncle or two: stay with Aizawa. Aizawa can’t have an itty-bitty child running around loose in the forest when 17 hormonal teenagers are letting off their Quirks which are dangerous. [it was an awful idea in canon to let Kota hide in his treehouse. Imagine if one of the kids near the mountain lost control of their quirk.] Kota chooses to stay with his aunts and uncle at all times because Aizawa is scary.
Once the training starts, he pairs everyone up with different partners to force their Quirks to improve.
Ashido-Kirishima to strengthen her acid and his hardening by hurling acid at him
Tokoyami-Kaminari-Aoyama to force Aoyama to maintain his laser beam for longer, Tokoyami to force him to strengthen Dark Shadow against light, Kaminari to power multiple light sources without burning them out and not going into whee mode so he can avoid the laser beam and Dark Shadow
Ojiro-Koda to force Koda to vary the animals that he calls and Ojiro to give him experience with fending off multiple opponents of varying sizes and skill levels without seriously injuring them.
Todoroki-Bakugo-Tsuyu to force Todoroki to be able to control both sides of his quirks and switch them easily, Tsuyu to force her to get accustomed to varying temperatures and making sure they don’t knock her out, Bakugo to force him to sweat more in both cold and hot temperatures so that he’s more versatile.
Jiro-Shoji-Hagakure to force Hagakure to improve her stealth and fighting, Jiro to make her be able to detect people sneaking up on her, and Shoji to improve his locating skills and stealth. [Shoji is a big boy and needs to work on stealth]
Sero-Sato to help Sero with his dodging and speed, and Sato to help him retain more of his planning and forethought while his Quirk is activated
Uraraka-Yaoyorozu to make Uraraka work on her sickness and weight limits and Yaoyorozu to adapt to planning on the fly and create items quickly.
Aizawa forces them to break away from their training partners when it’s time to make dinner and everyone is required to help in some way during the meal. The help can be gathering the ingredients, preparing them, doing the actual cooking, plating, setting the table, cleaning up after, anything as long as they contributed.
Repeat until the trial of courage.
Vlad wants to do the trial and Aizawa refuses to do it. Aizawa is actively trying to squash out the competitiveness of his students in order to make them work together and ask for help so that they’ll survive longer in the hero society. Uraraka lost a leg because people wouldn’t cooperate to help her in the entrance exam and Iida died because he was too focused on himself and didn’t ask for help. The trial would just reignite the competitiveness and ruin his progress.
1-B does the trial on their own while 1-A is given a maze they have to navigate.
The maze is created by Pixie Bob and is huge. It’s large enough that the students on the ground can’t peek over the walls to see the path. There are two students on the ground, the leader and the guide. The leader can see the walls and the turns but has earplugs in so they can’t hear the guide if the guide tries to talk. The guide can hear the directions from the person who sees the entire maze but is blindfolded and has to guide through tapping the shoulders of the leader. The person outside and looking down has to direct their team through the maze quickly without crashing into other teams. The leader can’t just guess a direction because Pixiebob will shift the maze if they try to do that so they can’t backtrack. It’s in teams of three so Aizawa is directing the last team. [Kinda inspired by survivor but with my own twist]
All of them rotate through each position with different teams each go round to impress on them the importance of all the roles.
In the last round, Bakugo was the person issuing instructions, cursing and screaming through the mic the entire time.
That’s when the villains attacked. But there were a few changes in the lineup.
Toga wasn’t there because the police picked her up and Inko got her case taken on to get her on parole and took her into her home when she saw her at the station while continuing with the criminal charges levied against the owner of the building that Izuku had fallen off of. The appearance of a girl bullied and ostracized for her Quirk, who was going down the path of no return, Inko saw Izuku in her. As such, she wanted to care for her and show her that villainy wasn’t the answer and that there are people who cared for her in spite of her blood Quirk. [Toga is stuck with Inko at this point in time and has a tracking anklet to make sure that she’s behaving. Rehab is going really well with the unconditional care that Inko is providing.]
Dabi got an infection and landed in the hospital ER as an unknown patient and wound up in a coma while his body was busy trying to fight the infection of his staples. [The man’s a walking open wound. You can sneeze in his general vicinity and have a high chance of taking him down in a couple weeks. Haven’t decided if I want to wake him up or not. Depends on my feelings]
Mustard joined the attack via Toga due to them being closer in age and talking. No Toga, no Mustard. [He’s sulking in detention right now.]
So the only ones left are Mr. Compress, Magne, Spinner, Muscular, Moonfish, Twice and the Nomu. Much smaller and no long-range attacks.
Their mission is to get in, extract Bakugo and get out with minimal damage. That’s what happened.
Muscular, Moonfish, and the Nomu all rampage on the opposite side of the mountain to draw attention to them. Magne and Spinner break up the 1-A class and drive them apart. Twice and Mr. Compress work together to snatch up Bakugo in a marble and then they all book it. Muscular and Moonfish are both left behind to keep the heroes distracted long enough for them to get back to Kurogiri and through the portal. Nomu ended up buried in a mountain via a very anger Tiger at the disruption of his naps. The students all worked together to try and bring down the villain to retrieve their classmate, but when that failed, Yaoyorozu managed to attach a tracker to the villains top hat.
Injuries were minimal and the three heavy hitting villains were arrested and locked up. The only casualty was Bakugo being kidnapped.
Kidnapping Arc
Blah, blah, join us you can be stronger and win a villain-Shigaraki
No, fuck off, go fuck yourselves-Bakugo
Repeat until All Might shows up
Then AfO activates goop Quirk [really need a better name for that. better than vomit transport quirk at least. That was my first thought], drags the league and Bakugo to him. Bakugo is held by him, hand on his temple ready to crush him.
Rest of Heroes all show up on the battlefield but aren’t moving so that Bakugo doesn’t get hurt. Essentially a stand off.
You know, you can tell whether or not someone has the potential for villainy by their greatest regret -AfO
AfO has a quirk that allows the user to see someone’s greatest regret, with more details the longer that the quirk is activated. He also has a quirk that allows him to project whatever he’s thinking about in a video format for everyone to see. [the man is old. he probably had a habit of taking whatever quirk he wanted when he was younger before all might turned him into a very ugly potato/alternate darth vader]
Quirks activate and it’s the scene of Bakugo telling Izuku to get jump off a building spliced with the news from Inko that Izuku was suspected of jumping off a building
Interesting. Why is that your greatest regret?-AfO
Quirk gives him more details.
Bakugo only regrets saying that because if it ever became public, he'd never reach the spot of number one hero which is his only goal in life.
Guess you are nothing but a villain after all. Too obsessed with yourself to see the damage you caused.-Afo
Afo shoved the boy away from him and forcibly activated Kurogiri’s Quirk to allow the league to escape.
Every hero on site is frozen in shock at the reveal of what a hero student of UA, the most prestigious hero school that graduated most of the top heroes in Japan, actually believed.
At that point, AfO flips All Might the finger and just goes through the portal because the news would shake society’s faith in UA which is really good. He can kill All Might later. [or just wait for any infection to take the man out. He lost his stomach so he probably lost his spleen too which is kinda important for the immune system.]
Fallout
Bakugo is booted to gen ed because Aizawa refused to teach someone that was just going to end up hurting someone later in life. Because Aizawa is an Underground Hero who specializes in information and predication, schools tend to believe in what he says about the potential/future of heroes in training especially when he has evidence to back up his beliefs. So no other school will take him on as a hero student.
Bakugo is essentially blacklisted from heroics because everyone wants to believe that a hero is good and just. And when the illusion is broken before it has a chance to solidify, they have no chance of becoming a hero.
Aizawa goes and apologizes in person to Inko. Because even though he had no way of knowing, he feels like he should have recognized the abusive tendencies and/or egocentrism of Bakugo earlier. So, allowing it to continue was a slap in the face to his victims.
Inko accepts his apology because she didn’t know about it either so how could she blame him when she was closer and still missed all the signs. She offers to let Aizawa visit Izuku because Eraserhead was one of his favorite heroes because of how much skill he had. But because Eraserhead was underground, he didn’t have any merch or enough information to write about him.
*Split path here depending on the angst level I want
1. Izuku is in a coma, all healed up, just hasn’t woken up. When they came, Izuku had just woken up a half hour ago so the doctors were busy checking all his vitals, memory, joints, etc. Inko cries, Aizawa stands away because he’s allergic to emotions, and Izuku is just silently fanboying because he sees one of his favorite heroes.
2.Izuku is in a coma and doesn’t wake up. Inko introduces Aizawa to him and tells Aizawa about his dreams and his story. Aizawa makes sure that at least once a week, he comes and visits to talk to him. He also brings other heroes to introduce to Midoriya to make sure that others know about him.
3.Aizawa and Inko go to a graveyard and the name Midoriya Izuku is carved into a family grave marker with flowers and an All Might figure in front of it. Inko tells Aizawa that Izuku died from falling from the building. They thought he jumped randomly, but with the new info, Inko is thinking that Bakugo might’ve pushed him verbally over the edge. Aizawa promises to investigate more.

I was thinking more on the Enemies with Benefits AU and I realized: Why would Izuku be willing to spark a rivalry with Shinsou and Todoroki? In canon he really doesn't try to be a rival to anyone, he just wants to save everyone.
So in this AU he was inspired by an interview with a hero.
Said hero was a hero bullied often for their mutation Quirk, and admitted that spite carried them through their years as a student and as a hero.
"I remember the faces of my bullies and teachers, and the spite I felt pushed me forward to be the best hero I can be, simply to show I can."
Izuku becomes inspired by this.
You're going to knock him down, you're going to say he can't be a hero?
Just watch what he does.
This spite has him managing around fifteen points in the entrance exam- not enough. But it also has him baring his teeth at the cute purple haired boy in his class when they heard that someone got expelled from the hero course.
Shinsou: I'm going to claim that spot.
Izuku: I will.
Shinsou: Really? You think you can beat me?
Izuku: *bares teeth* Just watch.
Of course I'd mess with timelines so two weeks in, USJ, and by that time the Gen Ed class is just watching their rivalry and eating popcorn.
Gen Ed Student: An entire bag of kitkats on Midoriya.
Other Student: You're on.
USJ happens, then they hear a student dropped out. You'd think they'd maybe calm down.
Ha, no. These two are still going at it hard.
Of course no one is around late one afternoon in the gym, during a spar when Shinsou pins Izuku. The two glare at each other for a moment, panting and staring.
Suddenly they're kissing and getting heavy when a robot blasts them with foam.
Said robot is controlled by Nezu who has an alarm set for this stuff.
It adds a layer to their rivalry, the random make-outs and heavy petting.
So where does Todoroki come in?
Well, Izuku manages to make friends with Uraraka, who takes one look at the spitefulness of Izuku and goes: FRIEND and then ends up spilling all the info she can.
The Izuku learns Todoroki is only using half his Quirk. He LOSES IT at Todoroki in the cafeteria.
It's the first time Shinsou agrees with him and they both rip into Todoroki who gets mad.
Suddenly all three are trying to beat each other and Uraraka is having the time of her life egging them on while Iida tries to calm them down.
No one knows really who moves first but suddenly Todoroki joins in on the make-out sessions and heavy petting.
At the sports festival, nothing is caught on camera, but there is some very heavy kissing going on, all of them fueled on adrenaline and rage.
And who wins the festival, baring his teeth to the world?
Izuku. Shinsou is in second, and their skills have them land in Class 1A together.
Some might think the rivalry cools.
Ha, no.
It gets worse.
