Energy Update: Mercury Retrograde in Libra

Happy Monday? Last night Mercury stationed retrograde at 25° Libra starting our three-week-long Mercury retrograde cycle,. Mercury will march backward through from 25-10 degrees until 10/18. Normal Mercury retrograde warnings apply: things take longer in general, communication (especially internet communication) will get messy and there may be many misunderstandings, all technology can get a bit wonky, and you can likely expect to have to do some or all of the res: rethink, redo, reconsider, reawaken, realign, etc. Mercury retrograde is counterindicated, in general, for travel which shouldn't be a problem during this time. The general rule of thumb during Mercury retrograde is: think before you act, save early and often, and double-check all communications before you hit "send". Because this retrograde cycle is in Libra it will affect cardinal signs most strongly (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) with the additional signs being strongly affected being Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius. Remember to take into account Sun, Moon, AND Ascendant when considering this above information. As Mercury moves backward through Libra, we are going to be forced to confront the way that we think/talk about our relationships (ruled by Libra). There is a hint to this process as the ruler of Libra, Venus, will spend most of the retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius. Sag is a sign of freedom and expansion which is a stark difference from the often co-dependant sign of Libra. Herein you see the inherent conflict that needs resolution. Expect the bad behaviors of Libra to be in the forefront of our minds all throughout this retrograde. Libra can be seen as the OG ruler of coupledom which can look cute but often hides a lot of relationship trauma right below the surface. As a Venus sign, the appearance of a relationship - just having a relationship AT ALL - can become so all-consuming that the health of the relationship can become immaterial. In fact, there are many Libras who seem completely incapable of leaving a relationship to such a degree that they remain in toxic situations or in a very poorly matched situation for years if not decades. Here Mercury retrograde in Libra will share something in common with Venus in Sagittarius - sometimes, both signs would rather be lied to in a way that feels good than confront the truth that may be messy or hurtful. This energy has been at play all year as we round out the last of our eclipses on the Gemini-Sag axis - you can refer back to my posts about eclipse season if you're interested in following this line of inquiry further. The reason that Mercury retrograde is so impactful is that it crosses the same points on the horoscope (here 10-15° Libra) a total of three times: one in its normal forward motion (called the pre-shadow phase), then backward during the retrograde, and finally a third time as it moves forward once more (known as its post-shadow). Because of this, we can look at the aspects that Mercury makes during this Chthonic journey to get additional insight into the way in which this retrograde cycle will potentially impact our lives. In this retrograde, Mercury makes a number of strong aspects. They will form a square with Pluto in Capricorn on 10/1 and 11/3, trine Jupiter in Aquarius on 10/3 and 11/1, conjunct the Sun and Mars on 10/9, oppose Chiron in Aries from 10/14-10/29, and make a sweet sextile to Venus on 10/16. This is a mixed bag which makes sense for a Mercury retrograde cycle. As I write about each aspect please keep in mind that although I list specific dates, these aspects play out for a couple of days before and after their moment of exactitude. Additionally, because we are in a retrograde cycle, any impact of these aspects will likely last through the retrograde and into Mercury's post shadow (I'll get to that). Sun, Mercury, and Mars conjunction at 16° Libra - this, along with the Mercury-Pluto square will likely have the strongest impact on this Mercury retrograde cycle. At this time last year, Mars went retrograde

in the sign of Aries and squared off with Pluto in Capricorn three times. We saw a ton of these Aries-Capricorn squares last year - that was a beginning. Now, one year later, Mars has made his way halfway around the horoscope to Aries' opposite sign of Libra only to square Pluto in Capricorn again. It is likely the unfinished business from the Fall of 2020 (or earlier that year) will rise to the surface - especially around how we go about getting what we want out of relationships. You may feel unmoored or directionless in and around this Libra stellium on 10/9. Especially if you've been given messages about what you need to change in your own life (Pluto in Capricorn) but you have held onto the old rather than taking steps forward towards that change. That said, astrology is the study of second chances - it is never too late to right your path. All you need to do is start walking. Mercury square Pluto in Capricorn - This indicates unfinished business, something that you need to rethink, reevaluate, redo so that you can let go and move on with your life. You may see exes or old friends reappear during this time - keep in mind that most likely these people are reappearing for a chance of closure but some people may even see rekindlings of old romances or second chances. Just keep in mind that Pluto was the God of Death, not romance. Mercury trine Jupiter - this can be a pretty nice aspect when both planets are moving forwards but is questionable (at best) when both planets are retrograde. Watch out for making mountains of molehills, for over-thinking and over-analyzing (problems during any Mercury retrograde cycle but made worse by the influence of our Great Expander Jupiter). Here the lies of Mercury retrograde may be at their height - watch out for the ways in which we are prone to dishonestly or illusion during this time, especially the ways in which we are dishonest or harbor illusions about our relationships. Notably, Mercury will be square to Pluto at the same time that they are trine to Jupiter which indicates that the lies that we tell may be very heavily loaded during this time. Expect some serious breakups and breakdowns during this time. You may discover that you and your Others are on very different pages - even that you see your relationship in a completely different light! Mercury sextile Venus in Sagittarius - this lovely sextile happens two days before Mercury stations direct again and is definitely our path forward. What has been revealed during this retrograde cycle? Can you integrate it into your life and your relationships focusing heavily on openness and freedom? Mercury opposed Chiron in Aries - this is our pain point. Mercury will oppose Chiron within 1 degree for an incredibly long time - 15 days to be exact! This is because it happens as Mercury is about to station direct and is therefore moving so slowly that they appear to stand still for an extended period of time. This shows that the Mercury retrograde cycle has been painful and many will have to go through a time of rectification during its post shadow period afterward. Chiron is always a reminder that we need to heal ourselves - that our mental well-being is our own responsibility. There is a sense here, with the axis between independent Aries and codependent Libra in play - that we need to step away from the idea that our Others can heal us. Or the idea that our Others are responsible for our Emotional States or Dysregulations. All in all, the next three weeks may feel like a real slog. We may feel fragmented or off-track. It's highly likely that the big blowups won't be until closer to the end of the retrograde and there may be a lot of cleanups to do. There's a lot of indication of some pretty big changes in the works as this cycle works itself out. In a year when change has felt nearly impossible due to our ongoing Saturn in Aquarius-Uranus in Taurus square, a chance to actually enact change sounds pretty good to me. All in all, if you keep your patience and your wits about you and

you aren't holding on to shit that you should have let go of ages ago, navigating this astrology weather should be considered Business as Usual. Remember to give your Others a metric fuckton of space during this time - especially if they have personal planets in one of the cardinal signs. What you stifle will never grow.

Something I forgot to mention in the New moon horoscope.

Lately with mercury in scorpio, I’ve encountered numerous scammers (Scorpio = viruses, scammers, imposters, hijackers). Some guy even hacked into my amazon account yesterday. And i got a virus on my website. I never get hacked! It’s been crazy. I started downloading an app for double-authentication then I realized this is related with another theme of the new moon.

This 🌒 is about manifesting boundaries/restrictions from hijackers (🦠!!!) or people and things that have power over our values, self-esteem and resources 🦹‍♂️

Scorpio has to do with viruses, thieves, negativity and energetic vampires.

Capricorn is restrictions & boundaries.

Nov. 15th New moon is sextiling Pluto/Jupiter conjunction in capricorn, meaning 3rd house from new moon is jup/pluto conjunction.

You may find yourself setting boundaries with people (gemini). Also setting general boundaries regarding your information and data (Significance of 3rd house). And your thoughts.

(look wherever gemini is in your natal chart to see what else you could be protecting or restructuring.)

There will be new beginnings by powerful people. Magnates ♏️ will influence government to institute POWERFUL new boundaries. Extreme measures are likely in order to protect against negativity/viruses (which are also scorpio).

Saturn is approaching the anaretic degree (final degree), so right now these extreme restriction ideas are simply seeds but as time progresses and Saturn reaches its peak (~Dec. 12th) these will strongly be instituted. it’s likely we will have instituted protective measures such as lockdowns.. 3rd is in Capricorn. The restrictions being set are likely to have some nefarious reasoning 🦹‍♂️ , or at least they will provide certain authorities and monopolies/magnates with more power inadvertently. The virus unfortunately benefits powerful people (and Scorpios lol). In addition, anyone who exerts power or manipulation over others will have it increased inadvertently in some way. 

How to protect yourself...

Now is a time you can set boundaries for yourself too 🚧.

The manifestations and boundaries you choose to place during this time will manifest effectively and grandiose (like a lockdown lol).

The new moon is favoring boundaries/rings 🪐 right now. So use the energy to your advantage!

(for example you can take simple actions to further protect your finances or data 🤳, your emotions, and boundaries in relationships 🔒 etc.) 

You can also manifest protection over your freedoms and livelihood, so the sanctions that others set don’t hit you as hard emotionally, physically, financially etc. People that don’t set boundaries will get hit.

You’ve got to imagine the average person as being in a toxic/manipulative relationship with the governments/authorities 👫. They are allowing them to do stuff that they don’t completely like 🚧 😒 . By a person accepting that it’s normal, they’re making an unspoken agreement. In a spiritual sense, they are literally property of the authority. For example, if I think my parents are my authority, then I must behave like their property. But at a certain age, this must become a choice. You get bad karma for behaving like others property unconditionally.

This will sound backwards but powerful people have the karmic right to control people that act like their property. And they can only do it if people behave like it. How they get you to act like property is by trying to manipulate things that you are attached to. It’s because you are actually the bigger person and they depend on YOU. Detach from attachments and you win.

Just like a virus (♏️), the seemingly “Powerful” person in your life is always very small 🦠.

You made him big in your head. with your attachments.

You decide who’s property you are. Starting in your mind (choose yourself).

Tell yourself “I am not a victim of manipulative people and hijackers; viruses or otherwise 🦹” And that “I am completely secured even in the case of undesirable measures by others 🚧”.

You are a hero. You receive good karma, guidance and protection from spirit guides simply for thinking like this!

This week’s big news is the Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, which will be happening at 10:16 am C.S.T. – check the linked article to find what time it will be occurring in your area.

Solar Eclipses are associated with new beginnings and may bring sudden change or bring a situation to light. The eclipse will mainly affect those with natal or secondary progressed planets or chart points at or close to 22° to 24° of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces.

Building from the start of the week is the upcoming Venus sextile Jupiter aspect, followed shortly afterwards by the and Venus sextile Saturn aspect.

Venus sextile Jupiter is likely to lead to feelings of contentment and ease. Venus and Jupiter are the two benefic (considered good or lucky) planets. The sextile is an aspect that brings helpful energy that can smooth a lot of edges when it comes to blending the qualities of different planets.

Venus sextile Saturn can lead to a deepening of relationships. There can also be an acceptance of the give and take and our obligations and responsibilities within relationships.

Venus trine Jupiter is exact mid-afternoon on Monday (2:50 pm C.S.T.), while Venus trine Saturn will be exact mid-morning (6:50 am C.S.T.) on Tuesday.

Late evening (11:05 pm C.S.T.) on Wednesday, Saturn moves into Aquarius. This sets the stage for the upcoming Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Aquarius on Monday the 21st. Saturn has been in Capricorn (which it rules) since December 2017. It did move into Aquarius briefly this year (21 March to 1 July 2020) before retrograding back into Capricorn to finish up its stint there.

Saturn also rules Aquarius, so there will be a similarity to how the planet of discipline, responsibility, and limitations expresses itself in many ways. However, Aquarius is much more forward-focused and revolutionary than Capricorn, so this may be quite a shake-up for many. If you look back to what was happening in late March, April, May, and June this year, you may have some indications of what to expect from this change of sign for Saturn.

Mid-morning (7:08 am) on Saturday, Jupiter also moves into Aquarius. This is an improvement for Jupiter, as it has been in Capricorn for the past year, a sign in which Jupiter is in fall. Cazimi is a condition in which Mercury’s qualities (thinking, learning, communications) are significantly enhanced. The exact conjunction of the Sun and Mercury occurs late evening (9:48 pm C.S.T.) on Saturday.

Late afternoon (5:08 pm C.S.T.) on Sunday, Mercury moves out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn. This improves Mercury’s condition, as Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius, whereas it is neutral in Capricorn.

LEARNING THROUGH WENDY WILLIAMS If you are unfamiliar with Wendy Williams, she is a former radio broadcaster who came to fame as one of the prominent voices on the very popular WBLS radio station in New York City. Williams was so popular during her stint with “BLS” that she was eventually offered a live audience TV show named after her. Williams’ name has been in the news lately because of personal problems that center on her husband’s alleged philandering and her reaction to it, which, unfortunately has been rooted in alcohol and apparently drugs. She has been staying in a downtrodden building that serves as a sober house for her. She cannot abuse herself through alcohol because she is under constant watch. Williams tapes her shows and is then driven back to the sober house. Things were going well until just a few days ago. Wendy’s husband’s name is Kevin Hunter. Hunter’s “other woman” gave birth to a child, a child that he is alleged to be the father of. What makes this really sticky is that Hunter has always been his wife’s agent and is the producer of her show. She is the big bread winner in the relationship so, the marital issue also threatens her career. There are four things that you never want problems with: severe illness or loss of a child; loss of a cherished marriage; loss of career; critical illness of your own. She has two of the four and inasmuch as she has been ill enough to miss a substantial length of time on her show, she is certainly not as healthy as she should be, both mentally and physically. Right now, in 2019, the astrology isn’t life-changing. You don’t see anything that you would expect to see and it stays that way until June. In December, there is SP Moon square Saturn. December is when the aspect peaks but the effect of it begins in June. The significance of this aspect (occurs every 7 years) is that one’s main needs are in conflict with what reality is offering. It forces a person to make a concrete change in life of some kind. As previously mentioned, Hunter is William’s agent and he produces their show. We know that that professional relationship will end. With the Tertiary Progressed Moon going over the Ascendant on October 13th, that will probably be an important time period from, say, the 11th through the 15th. This SP Moon=Saturn contact introduces transiting Saturn opposing the Sun for all of 2020. In lieu of the reality as it exists now, 2020 will probably be pretty challenging for Williams. As the planet of communication, Mercury retrograde tends to breed a certain level of confusion. Mercury rules our “lower” mind–how we perceive and interpret information that we receive from our environment, and how we relay that information to others. Mercury has rulership over such things as speaking, negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts, documents, travel, the mail and shipping, and so forth. All of these areas of life are affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state. Decision-making is challenged during Mercury retrograde. Needless to say, it is not advised to sign contracts, engage in important decision-making, or launch a new business. Delays and challenges are more probable with Mercury retrograde. It’s a time when being careless with money, our personal information, or paperwork can be costly. While Mercury is retrograde, we may be rethinking a previous opinion or idea. Looking to the signs and houses it transits can give clues as to what we may be reconsidering. There is absolutely a positive side to Mercury Retrograde. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting. We look at the world a little differently–through different filters–and can come up with some very important inner revelations. It may be difficult to communicate them under this influence, but not everything needs to be rationalized. Mercury retrograde periods can be times of heightened inner awareness, when meditation, benefiting from keeping a journal, reworking old plans, and reviewing past work are favored. Mercury retrograde is powerful for studies, particularly for returning to old studies or for re-learning or refreshing knowledge in a subject alrunication can actually re-connect us to other means of communication, such as when there is an unexpected power outage and we’re forced off the computer and television, finding different and often satisfying ways to entertain ourselves. It’s not an ideal time to start new ones or to sign contracts, simply because a change of mind is quite likely once Mercury turns direct. However, it’s a fabulous time to do some “outside of the box” thinking. Acting on our ideas, however, might be best left for a Mercury Direct period. Pay close attention to what you say and communicate in general, particularly around the days of Mercury’s stations (March 22nd and April 15th), as well as around retrograde Mercury’s conjunction to the Sun on April 1st (midway between the start and end of the retro period). If you are itching to make a point with someone, especially, or if you are planning on “signing on the dotted line,” try to hold off. It is likely that you will have a change of mind once the station passes, and you can do some damage in the meantime. When a planet stations, its energies are very strong in our lives. When Mercury stations, communications have more impact, so that negative ones could have long-term implications at this time. However, if you are very clear within yourself and about what you are communicating, this can be a positive thing. Overview

At the end of 2020, we had Jupiter and Saturn move into the sign of Aquarius. Jupiter and Saturn also had their grand conjunction, which only happens every 20 years, and sets the tone for the next 20 years.

The grand conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn occurred in your 9th house of long-distance travel, higher education, religion, philosophy, esoteric subjects, publishing, and the law. Jupiter will be in this section of your chart for a year and usually brings expansion, enthusiasm, and luck to the area it is transiting.

Saturn will be in this section of your chart until March 2023 and often brings hard work, restrictions, and delays to matters related to the area that it is transiting. As such, overseas travel, foreigners, higher learning, publishing, the law, and other beliefs and cultures will be especially significant over the next couple of years.

Unfortunately, it won’t all be smooth sailing. At various times this year, you will have to deal with sudden, unexpected, and unpredictable events (Uranus) upsetting your plans in these areas somewhat.

For you, these upsets are likely to be related to hidden and secret matters, your undoing, and places of solitude and rest. This may include your mental health, addictions, places of confinement like prisons or hospitals, as well as retreat, rest, and recovery. That may all sound a little daunting and overwhelming. However, this is more a helpful reminder to be aware that these areas may trip you up from time to time.

The World and Covid 19  in 2020- A Vedic Astrology Analysis

It’s been long, I wrote my previous article on Astrology. Emails flooded my inbox with a request to analysis and write an article on the present situation of the world. It’s true that this year 2020 have been difficult for many of us. Personally, I lost my father, after his long fight with brain hemorrhage on 5th April, 2020. He was Professor and a Social Worker for over 45 years of service. Losing my father was just like losing my best friend. The pain and tribulations which went on in my mind could not be written here in words. However, as I started my life once again, I can feel the pain of my brothers and sisters across the world, who may have lost their near and dear ones during these challenging times.

So, what went wrong in the World? What is the reason that so many people all across the world have to suffer as I write this article on May, 2020? Can Astrology provide an answer to these questions? Yesterday night, as I started thinking, I came to a conclusion that these may have happened due to major Astrological Transits, which I am explaining in my own way.

If I take an example of the first case of Corona Virus that may have happened during the month of November-December, 2019, I find out that the astrological planet Ketu was at 15 degrees 1 minute at Purva Asadha Nakshatra in Sagittarius, while Astrological Planet Saturn was also at Purva Asadha Nakshatra at 22 degrees 33 minutes. Rahu was exactly at the opposite at Ardra Nakshatra at 15 degree 1 minute.

So, what does this combination mean for all of us. To understand this and after researching data from various sources, I tried to gather the date of the outbreak of SARS Infection in a particular Nation. In my analysis, taking an outbreak month of approximately March, 2003, I analyzed the following based on the movement of planets in the Cosmic Sky, that is Saturn was exactly at 29 degrees and 28 minutes in Mrigasira in Taurus Zodiac and Astrological Planet Rahu was in 6 degree 44 minutes in Krittika Nakshatra in Taurus. Exactly 180 degrees away was Planet Ketu at 6 degree 44 minutes at Anuradha Nakshatra. Planet Jupiter was at 14 degree 11 minutes at Pusya Nakshatra.

I went on further to analyse from astrological point of view, the effect of Ebola Virus outbreak in the world. Again from various sources and websites, I found out that the major outbreak was in between 2014-2016. Taking location of a country of the outbreak during those times, I analyzed that planet Saturn was at 28 degrees 34 minutes in Libra, planet Rahu was at 4 degree 19 minutes in Chitra at Libra. Astrological Planet Ketu was at 4 degrees 19 minutes. Planet Jupiter was in retrograde option at 17 degree 22 seconds at Ardra in Gemini.

So, in all these I found that the occurrence of Virus infection happened in the world, when Astrological Planet Saturn was close to the Astrological Planet Rahu and Ketu. That triggered an infection for the masses since the astrological planet Saturn rules the masses.

Then the next question obviously arises is, if Saturn moves away from this combination, will there be relief? In my analysis, the Astrological Planet Saturn triggered the event and as the Rahu-Ketu Axis Moves in the clockwise direction and the Astrological Planet Saturn moves in the anti-clockwise direction, I feel that things will tend to become normal.

Coming back to the present scenario, taking the present location in the South Asian region, Planet Ketu is in Moola Nakshatra in 5 degree 9 minute at Sagitarrius. After doing my own analysis, I calculated that this planet Ketu starts moving towards 3 degree 20 minutes, on 22 nd July, 2020 which is likely to help in improvements. I feel that the World may research and invent new medicines and may find help through supportive medicines to counter the disease.

The interesting fact is that Mula Nakshatra is ruled by Planet Ketu. This particular Nakshatra deals with the Soul's mission towards attaining Moksha or knowing the reason for our own existence. The path of Ketu through the degrees 0 to 13 degree 20 minutes is all about understanding ourselves and that our karma (Work) done is the root cause of our problems. We need to be connected with our roots and we also should understand that we co-exist with all species in this planet Earth. So, while Astrological Planet Ketu passed through these degrees, it reminded us of our karma done previously, the consequences of which we face today. 

This is all my personal analysis and I hope that things turn for good after July 22, 2020. I will write a separate astrological article on the financial system of the world and the South Asian Region in my next article.
