So apparently Etemenanki was a ziggurat in ancient Babylon. It was so huge (six layers tall!) that people would talk about it and it would later inspire tales of the tower of Babyl
Also its name means "Foundation of Heaven and Earth"
I was just watching a video about ancient Babylon and started screaming when they mentioned that and just had to share
aah thank you so much for sharing <333 i appreciate you running in my ask to share the knowledge, it's really sweet!!
I happened to know about all of this, i did a few researches on some of the important names in wmtsb (and in most stuff i care about) to try to figure out what the inspiration was and stuff, it's been something that has obsessed me for a while!
(i read about it before Tower of Babyl was announced as an event, i can tell you my theories ran wild at the time until they made it just "the ruins of the Pandemonium")
Also fun fact, my mom is the type of person who is always watching a documentary of some kind, depends on what she is having a major interest in at the moment, and for some reasons, our interests end up overlapping in weird ways like... when i was reading the Dragon Knights stories, if i was to wander into the living room, she would somewhat coincidentally be watching a documentary about Arthurian legends. Stuff like that. All the time.
and so while i made my own researches about Etemenanki at the time, since i was staying at my mom's for a bit, it just happened that it was in the middle of her Babylon and Canaan obsession so it was all there was on the TV, and i had a moment of "going to grab something in the kitchen only to hear the TV start talking about the Etemenanki and being all like wtf"
So i feel you so much in term of suddenly being spooked by this type of things in documentaries. Always an amazing feeling right?

Dear mod. Can I have your thought on Baal? Like... I feel like I'm pretty rare lover of this boi .w. JUST IMAGINE THE THINGS A NICE VOICE COULD DO WITH HIM!
I feel the exact same way! I often wonder why I don’t see people talk much about Baal! He’s so visually striking - how can you not love his design? And his personality is so haughty and distant most of the time, but once in a while you get this tiny glimpse of what a tease he can be.
Once his interest is piqued in something, he’ll act disinterested even while blatantly pursuing it... haha, he’s really pretty catlike, isn’t he?
I’m happy to see love for him. 💖
I’m definitely interested in writing for him!

So if we combine their roles from Gbf and Spy X Family, we have Vane in a fake marriage with Maglielle and their adopted daughter Vikala. His bestie is Ragazzo and his coworker who desperately wants to marry him is Clarisse. Vicky is besties with Sierokarte. Maggie's brother is Ayer or Baal whichever is funnier and her boss is Siete, actually
Showed up for five seconds, voiced by Suwabe, refused to elaborate and left. He runs a secret group of assassins who take out targets that could disrupt the order of their country and nobody knows what his deal is by virtue of only having seen him for five seconds. What fun!
Sorry if I'm rambling but the power of this realization (Siete is Maggie's boss in Spy X Family) had me suddenly wide awake and every time I checked the voice actor wiki to check for someone else another blow was delivered to my mind
Anyway, all of these VAs are incredibly talented people obviously, it's just fun to compare previous roles and get your daily dose of psychic damage that way
oh my god that's genuinely so funny
I totally get ya in term of VAs haunting you and yeah of course they're talented but joking about similar previous roles still is funny (i do that all the time)
but the fact Siete and Maglielle have a "dynamic" thanks to Spy x Family is so funny. After we kept talking about how they have to meet.
Love that Suwabe is getting those checks tho.
it's really funny, thanks for sharing!

my favorite take away from nezha’s fates is the implications of how they all became friends through a lens other than satyr.
nezha became “friends” with medusa and baal first. When they were bickering with each other (like “friends”) and Nezha came down from the sky like: what are you doing here? this is my territory? im fight you now.
nezha’s npc journal entry mentions that he’s defeated medusa and baal together. so he just beats the shit out of them when he first meets them. and i can only imagine ends the fight like: haha that was fun :) lets do it again sometime.
and medusa and baal (esp baal) probably like wtf this guy is nuts.
then later nezha meets satyr. and i can only assume when he introduces her to medusa and baal (who stop arguing for a moment to be like: oh fck this guy again) it’s like...
nezha: haha these guys are a lot of fun :)
saytr:
nezha, not knowing wtf a “friend” is: yes :)
