i did, and i'm so proud of him! it's about time he recieved his flowers. over the last year alone, his skills have improved so much. i've said this before, but i'd watch him in absolutely anything.

i really hope gmmtv continue to give him complex roles and characters.

the eclipse.....i could talk about the eclipse for hours, no joke. i've been thinking about again recently too, it's like you knew. it wasn't for everyone, and it wasn't perfect, (the plot was a bit slow at times) but it really really hits deep for me.

i haven't seen many bls that tackle all those topics in that way? with so much nuance, feeling and grace, like you said. they don't gloss over things. it can be quite heavy at times, but it feels real y'know?

i know a big part of that is down to first & khao's portrayal of akk & ayan but also p'golf's direction of them.

i think the good points out-shine the bad ones by miles.

there are so many stand-out scenes.

the beach scene "you're allowed to weak - at least with me" and then the reverse at akk's home. the scene where akk comes out to his parents - i cry every single time. it's honestly so beautiful. the scene where akk is outed by thua. it huuuuurts, but that's why it's so good. the akkayan rooftop scene and the grief and pain they both share. their first kiss scene!!!! "i want to kiss you. can i kiss you?" and "if you don't like it, if you're not okay, let me know. i'll stop." aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 😭😫

god, like, that's just a few off the top of my head!

i've rewatched the eclipse at least 10 times. it's one of my ults.

i always reccomend it to people, and tell them to go in with an open mind, and stick with it, because i honestly think it's worth it.

Wandee Goodday: Act 1 Check In

I wanted to check in with this show at episode three for posterity. Coming out of the third episode, I was excited to talk about the inclusion of a 69 in a BL we all had pretty easy access to and what that meant for presentation of mutual pleasure between men in a genre that doesn’t often deal with that. I also had some thoughts about Wandee ignoring the significance of asking Yak to come out. I wasn’t alone, and eventually ran across @befuddledcinnamonroll ‘s post about where they stand with Dee at this time. I wanted to write some thoughts down about this character at episode 3 and save some other posts so I can see where we were a quarter of the way into the show for later.

I’ve enjoyed Wandee as a character from the beginning. I like how much of a messy gay he is, and totally get why he’s a comfort character for @shortpplfedup. Still, Wandee is a legit mess. I noted back in episode 1 that he turned mean when he got rejected by Ter. We’ve had a great run with some classic tropes with his relationship with Yoryak (@troubled-mind), and we can tell that he takes his work as a doctor seriously ( @gaylittlepieceofsh1t). 

It’s just that, even with as much fun as we’re having following this character ( @happypotato48), we can’t help but notice that he’s not great with Yak’s boundaries. We’ve talked about how special Yak’s bisexuality feels in this show ( @yankeebastard). We’ve seen that Yak is pretty good about establishing and respecting boundaries ( @becauseimanicequeen), but Dee’s competitiveness ( @chicademartinica) is going to be a real issue in this show ( @ajchayapol), because Dee was way out of line ( @lurkingshan ) this episode with the way he trampled over Yak about coming out in a sports environment ( @djeterg19 ) as his fake boyfriend with no regard for how that would impact Yak ( @negrowhat ).

However, like @twig-tea, I remain interested in what we have in store, and am especially curious about Oyei and Cher. I thought this third episode tied all of its scenes together really well, and even think there’s potential in Ter seemingly being uninterested in the doctor played by Emi who has also expressed interest in him. I’m excited to see where Dee and  Yak go after this, because Wandee lied and cheated with all he had to get Yak to agree to help him beat Ter, and we’ve already noted how Dee behaves to get what he wants (@respectthepetty ).

Still, I’m really enjoying this show, and wanted to take a quick snapshot right here of how we’re feeling about Dee and Yak at what felt like the end of the first act. We know that Yak and Dee are actually decent to each other when Dee isn’t breaking the rules he already set, and we can tell plainly that Yak perhaps desires more than just a friend with benefits from Wandee. I’ll probably do another one of these posts after episode 6 and see where we are, because I really believe in the experience of episodic storytelling. I think it’s good for us to be clear about where Dee is now so that we can observe his changes in real time as the consequences of his actions blow up in his face. I am so ready for Yak to snatch that necklace, you have no idea.

Hiroko reminds me of an old friend that I miss often. She also fucked, and also felt strongly about not getting emotionally caught up in a straight girl. I love that she's super competent at work in a way that inspires her juniors to rely upon her. She's also willing to get her hands dirty and help with stuff.

Latte also fucks, and everyone who's been with him that we've met seems to have enjoyed their time with him, and is happy to encounter him again. This is really restorative for all the slut-shaming we find in this genre and media in general. Latte is a good friend, and he's emotionally present in almost every conversation he's having. I love him so much, and I love the way he takes care of Almond.

Taichi fights! He went to the school of Talk Shit, Get Hit and I fucks with that! He's a friendly and sociable boy hiding a lot of loneliness and abandonment underneath that veneer. I totally see how he recognized that in Kohei and connected to him right away. He's not perfect, but he is earnest and honest.

Jane is not paid enough for the amount of disrespect he receives for trying to hold this entire operation together. This man is always working, but he's not egotistical about winning the glory. He is as quick to praise people's work as he is to tell them they screwed up. I have been him, and I have worked alongside him. He is going to burn out within two years and not be able to work for six months.

I love a tsundere that will tell you to your face you're being a bit creepy even as he helps you and offers useful advice. I can't wait to learn what angst he's been carrying, and what he seeks in hiking the way he does. What I do know is that he is observant and kind, and I love him for that.

Sorry that it took a bit but I came home from workand just crashed and yesterday I was busy. This prompt is the cutestfucking thing omg.

Shane has witnessed Ryan in several stages of sleepdeprivation.

There is the usual one, Ryan’s everyday workingstage when they wrap up filming or something similar. He gets a bitloopy and sometimes loses track of what he’s saying, but ingeneral, he manages.

Then there is Ryan after a night on location. Hedoesn’t sleep at all in these places and Shane doesn’t either –albeit for different reasons. Ryan after a night like that is grumpyand cranky and falls asleep as soon as he sits down and put somedistance between himself and whatever ghosties he is imagining.

Today’s stage is new. It’s a mix of sort. Theyare halfway into filming the new season, so Ryan is very busy andoverworked, which cuts into his rest time and also keeps him fromwinding down enough to fall asleep on time. Ryan also slept over atShane’s the night before, a combination of date-night andmovie-night which in general is just popcorn-night. A combination ofObi sneaking into Shane’s bedroom halfway through the night, theantihistamines and a couple of beers have left Ryan incredibly out ofit and Shane was vaguely worried in the morning. He drove them towork and tried to get Ryan to lay down during lunch break, but Ryanwas buried in research and refused.

Right now, Ryan is trying to explain the upcominglocation to Shane, slightly slurring his words and interruptinghimself to take sips from his fourth coffee of the day. He rubs hiseyes which are slightly red and Shane wants to gather his boyfriendup in his arms and drag him to the next horizontal surface so the guycan finally rest, but ofcourse Ryan won’t have it. Hebats at Shane’s hand when Shane reaches out to press his fingersagainst his forehead to feel for a temperature and when he doesn’tlet up, Ryan leans back and out of his reach.

“So it’s beenabandoned for- stop! I can’t concentrate like that – for ahundred and fifty years and – Shane I swear to God let me finish –I… what was I saying?”

Ryan frowns atShane, coffee mug half way to his mouth as his eyes slowly drift fromShane’s hands – now pulled back – up to his face and then Ryanmutters:

“God your eyes arepretty in this light. How are they so pretty? This light isdisgusting and here you are, eyes like honey, fucking hell-” Themuttered curse is spoken into his mug and there is a loud,unattractive slurp as Ryan drinks, clearly not noticing what he justsaid. Shane hears a muffled giggle behind him and feels the tips ofhis ears turn red and warm, but Ryan still hasn’t picked up on it.

“Right!” Ryansits up and actually startles Shane. “I remember. It’s beenabandoned for 150 years, but there have been several reports ofsquatters that saw the former lady of the house wander around, hoverclose to the spaces where furniture used to be… there is even apicture and if you don’t stop looking at me like that I’m goingto- Oh who am I kidding I only want to kiss you when your mouth doesthat weird quirk thing.” Ryan babbles on, launching straight backinto the stories about the ghost of the lady in the empty house as ifhe had not just talked about smooching Shane in front of theirgiggling coworkers. Shane glances over and sees that TJ has his phoneout, smirking down at the screen as he inches closer to them. Shaneshakes his head at him in disappointment but suddenly there is a handon his cheek and he looks back at Ryan who has leaned closer.

“I’m trying totell a story here, big guy, I know I’m a bit loopy but please humorme I really need your support in this. Everything is always so muchbetter when you’re excited for a location so please listen, okay?”He lets out a little whine and strokes his thumb over Shane’scheekbone. “God I want to hug you so bad you’re so pretty and-”Ryan interrupts himself to yawn, mouth opened so wide that his jawcracks and Shane winches in sympathy, touching Ryan’s elbow.

“Babe. Come on,you should go and lie down at least for a couple of minutes.” Hemanages to coax Ryan up from his chair, watching how his boyfriend’shead bobs down as if he’s actually falling asleep already.

“Okay. Don’tcall me babe, though. That’s a lie. Callme babe. I like it. Makes me feel all happy.” He trails off intomumbles as he drops his head against Shane’s shoulder and Shane istorn between melting with adoration and burning up with mortificationwhich sounds like the title of an essay that Ryan couldn’tpronounce in his state of loopyness if he tried.

“Delete that.”Shane hisses at TJ as he hauls Ryan past them and he hears a bunch ofgiggles as Ryan starts to mumble again. He is getting incoherent butShane is sure he hears something about him being warm and comfortableand as cute as it is, he is getting concerned about Ryan’s healthby now, so he is putting his foot down. Ryan lays down in the breakroom on the vaguely cramped couch, his head on Shane’s thigh andbefore Shane can even check if the other man is comfortable, Ryan ispassed out. Shane allows himself a slight laugh as he runs hisfingers through Ryan’s hair and looks down at his boyfriend. Ascute as the no-filter babbling is, he hopes Ryan wakes up a bit morelike himself. There is something sweet in reading between the linesof banter and remarks to find the adoration and compliments that Ryanhas for him.

For now, he’llmake sure that Ryan gets his rest.

As today is the last MSP frigay, I just wanted to write a wee lwittle post about the people I am very glad I could connect with due to our love for this series [bordering on obsessive tendencies but that's okay this is tumblr]. Even more than the series, I looked forward to talking to these mooties of mine with their theories, fanfictions and just plain screaming at times.

I will never regret the day I decided to come and ask you about some vague ass theory I had about tinngun in your DMs. You introduced me to the world of SOUNDWIN and picture perfect analogies and I hope you continue to do this for many more series to come. Hopefully, our angst and delusion brain proportion stays the same as we really need to strike a balance at the end of the day 😭.

I loved that fic and I am glad we started talking BECAUSE of it cuz now I have a friend who will torture me by sending insta tinn edits cuz I was a dumb fool to blurt out my obsession with him at one point in time. I love sending you edits too and I hope neither of us stop that anytime soon even tho we are busy busy people.

@lost-my-sanity1 Trisha, you little baby. One of these days I need to very strictly scold you for using your [admittedly smooth] pick up lines on this old grandma. You are the youngest in my friend list but you are also so so mature in so many of your thoughts and theories that I do get a bit wonderstruck sometimes, I am sorry. I love how we share a lot of similarities and keep guessing what the future eps are going to be like, and I always, always enjoyed your reactions to every theory I copied from Twitter. Also I love telling you to go study, it's one of my fav past times.
