It’s been just over 6 years since my bestfriend died as it was her birthday today; I no longer feel sadness when thinking about her absence nor comfort when recollecting memories. What once felt like a huge event in my life seems void of any impact when looking at where I am today. I romanticised grief as something that positively redirected your outlook on life from being confronted with the fleetingness of living; and now i’m like stagnation nation, eat sleep work repeat conditioning. At the time it happened, and the first 2/3 years after she died, age 19 - 22, it all felt like a teen film (Perks of Being a Wallflower/Never Let Me Go but if they were directed by Gasper Noe). The journey of formalising your identity from a teenager to adult whilst being ill from despair, moving on without her through hedonism, leaving your comfort zone by changing your environments and surrounding yourself with new people; it’s like being carried by an open back truck, your in the back with her, your both drinking and listening to your favourite music and indulging in the adrenaline of being driven at 200mph through a never ending tunnel dimly lit yellow, but the truck has to stop and drop her off at some point very soon but you have to keep going in the van. You don’t want this moment to never end type _.
Life is literally so krazy and all I’m doing is laying in bed vaping watching what’s in my bags

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cx7g14KNhUn/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== do you think she went with Austin?
nah, there’s a video of her arriving solo and that was the same night someone tweeted that they saw him at a bar with the argentine/french film director gasper noe (who was also at the ysl show!). so they did their own thing that night…but man i’d have loved to be a fly on the wall by austin & gasper. that man’s films are…insane. a bit.

don't do drugs kids but if you were someone who enjoys psychedelics and could handle watching fucked up movies while tripping here are my recommendations
midsommar is the first one I watched on acid and the psychedelic aspect of the story makes it a very vivid experience
climax by gasper noe, again with characters also tripping, you just feel like another guest at this party that descends into hell, also the dance sequences are just mesmerising and become so meaningful
stepford wives, I had a fucking blast with this, I think everyone should watch it, high or not
nightmare on elmstreet, if you want to enter the mind of a murderous evil creature this is the one, the pov shots of freddie will take you there, I felt genuine bloodlust, also was the blueprint for so much later horror so it feels really familiar
scream, listen its just the most fun, also if you watch it after nightmare on elmstreet its really fascinating, follow it up with scary movie for three versions of the same story with increasing levels of parody
green knight, ohhhhh my godthis movie, its the best film I've ever seen thats just about life in the broadest sense, the pain of being a mortal creature that knows it will die and the wonder of the earth, its about the cruel selfish things humans do and its also about the beauty of existence and being alive, its also absolutely stunning with hypnotic music and imagery that will make you scream
end of list just watch green knight

KILL was like The Raid, Train to Busan, John Wick, and Gasper Noe's fire hydrant rolled into one fat J. A fun ride, reminiscent of prime 2000's asian action flicks. This that They Not Like Us energy. If you thought K Dot was doing too much to Drake, sit this one out. Title card drops over halfway through the movie, when you know you fucked around and about to find out. Read online it was his first time in this type of role, but Lakshya killed it. "You're a monster! I killed like, four of your friends, you killed 40 of my family!" Not sure if this is considered Bollywood but fuckin great job! If you're critical, yes it could have corny scenes to try and justify all the relentless beatdowns, but try and put yourself in my mans shoe and enjoy the ride. No musical though, go check it out! Kill (2024) Official Trailer - Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala (youtube.com)
