The Tok’ra Lineup
* Means the name is not canon or an original character.
The information is a combination of canon and headcanon, based on my series, Stargate: The Tok’ra.
Information may be updated as necessary.
Updated: 4/24/24
Aldwin and Gete*
Aldwin was a former healer and became one once again.
Gete was a nobleman, in charge of his city. He was in arranged marriage that he had no interest in. He developed, instead, a relationship with his brother-in-law, Tovol. When joining the Tok’ra, Gete appointed Tovol to be in charge of his children, something he didn’t trust of his own brothers. Tovol accepted his niblings as his own, and a 100+ years later, Gete’s descendants still rule. Gete visits them from time to time.
(Technically, Aldwin wouldn’t exactly be canon because I mistook the host’s name for the symbiote’s name, then wrote them in multiple stories before realizing my mistake.)
Anise and Freya
Scientists. They ended up marrying Daniel Jackson, having formed a relationship when the three of them had amnesia.
Cordesh and Nelay’an*
Yep. These two.
Cordesh* and Glebu*
Cordesh wasn’t quiiiiite as dead as everyone thought.
Delek and Tian “Toma”*
High Councilors.
Tian is also an artist. He keeps his true name safely guarded, so goes by “Toma.” Tian’s family was killed by Jaffa, something that he keeps guarded from even other Tok’ra.
Delek is very cautious around the Free Jaffa as a result. Delek, himself, is bitter towards Earth humans, knowing they did nothing whenever his brethren died on their planet.
Egeria
The Tok’ra queen.
Garshaw and Yosuuf
Grand Councilors, second in command of the Tok’ra.
Yosuuf was a wife and mother before joining the Tok’ra. She still visits her grandchildren, and Garshaw is accepted as part of the family.
Iasis* and Malika*
Raised as sisters, they chose to blend together. Iasis is a queen, being a clone of Egeria. She was created without the Tok’ra’s knowledge. She was rescued and adopted.
Jalen
Jalen is the symbiote.
Jarvo* and Korra
They switch between being operatives, security guards, or bodyguards.
Jaydin
See Pel and Liandra.
Jolinar and Rosha
Look! It’s Jolinar and Rosha!
Rosha injured herself to get out of an arranged marriage to join the Tok’ra. It wasn’t that he was a bad man, but she wanted more in life, and straight up asking to join the Tok’ra would have humiliated her family.
Jolinar was born to be a leader, but like Rosha, she wanted more than what she was destined to be. In her heart, she was truly an explorer. She used her leadership skills to make many allies for the Tok’ra.
Jolinar and Quinta
Jolinar’s Nasyan host. He lasted for about a whole…six months as a host.
Jolinar and Samantha “Sam” Carter
And Sam!
Kela’an* and Drack*
Communications Officers. Mates to Anise and Freya. The relationship ended upon Draco’s death. Kele’an encouraged Anise and Freya to move on with Daniel.
Kela’an* and Samantha “Sam” Carter*
With having burns herself, Sam chose to blend with Kela’an instead of letting Kela’an die. Because Sam has Jolinar’s memories, Kela’an has taken them for herself, to ensure that Jolinar and her hosts will be remembered. They are mothers to Iasis and Malika. However, since Kela’an blended with Sam while she was pregnant, her memories did not pass to Malika.
Kelmaa and Eir*
Healers. (Kelmaa is the first symbiote to look like she’s going “eh.”)
Kilso*
A Tok’ra healer.
Lantash* and Setta*
They fell in love with Jolinar and Rosha, or rather, Rosha had the hots for Lantash and didn’t care that his host was female. This would have lead to a beautiful marriage, but unfortunately, Setta was killed by a Jaffa.
Lantash and Martouf
Operatives. Security. Diplomats. They were mates to Jolinar and Rosha. They were first interested in Sam because she was Jolinar’s host, then fell in love with her. They are fathers to Iasis and Malika.
Malek and Amb*
Outpost Commanders and Scientists. Amb is a bit shy. They ended up marrying Aldwin and Gete. Along with Aldwin and Gete, they were very closely involved in raising Iasis and Malika.
Ocker* and Jin*
Per’sus’ personal body guards. Jin died protecting him and Einar. Ocker is batch mates with Delek. Because the two were the last of their batch, they became very close.
Ocker and Kima*
After losing Jin, Ocker transferred and became Chief of Security at the Risa Base. Their deaths reinforced Delek’s anger towards Earth humans.
(Ocker’s photo is just recolored Lantash.)
Pel* and Liandra
Liandra was on the High Council with her beloved symbiote, Jaydin. After Jaydin was murdered, she re-blended with Pel. Liandra was given the opportunity to rejoin the council, but she refused. Knowing that being on the council was why Jaydin was murdered, Liandra took to Pel’s job, being in security and sometimes bodyguard, instead. Even with Pel’s help, it took Liandra years to accept Jaydin’s death. Eventually, they became mates with Iasis and Malika.
Per’sus and Einar*
Grand High Councilors.
Per’sus was batch mates (or clutch mates if you prefer) with Jaydin and Cordesh. He was also Egeria’s mate for over nine centuries.
Einar had a 150+ years romance with Cordesh and Nelay’an. Per’sus, having never gotten over the loss of Egeria, never got involved.
Relek* and Tur*
Tur was a distant cousin of Martouf, one of four survivors when their people were massacred. He immediately fell for Saroosh and Selmak, even before blending with Relek.
Ren’al
Scientists. They were married to Ocker and good friends with Delek. Ren’al is the symbiote.
Selmak and Saroosh
High Councilors. They were married to Tur and Relek. Unfortunately, their mates couldn’t be there when Saroosh died, a few days before she turned 203.
(Best I could do for Selmak’s image since we don’t see all of her at once.)
Selmak and Jacob
Space Dad! And Selmak. Aside from being leaders, they also work as operatives.
Selmak’s previous marriage ended upon blending with Jacob. Tur and Relek still loved her, and she loved them, but neither Tur or Jacob had any interest in dating another man.
Jacob is Sam’s dad. Selmak feels like Sam is her daughter, but she accepts that Sam doesn’t feel the same way.
Shorvek* and Lon*
Security Guards. They were dating Aldwin and Gete. They asked to go up on the surface, soon after meeting the Tau’ri, then were never seen again.
Thoran
High Councilors. Thoran is the Symbiote.
Twig* and Hurton*
Hurton’s previous symbiote was killed. After being forced to hunt down his fellow Tok’ra, Hurton escaped. He ended up blending with Twig and rejoining the Tok’ra, where he began dating Einar (though not Per’sus).
Vorran* and Fenz*
Security Guards and/or Body Guards. Vorran was sent to the Risa System after some odd behavior.
Zarin
Operatives. Zarin is the symbiote.

We have a pair of birthdays from Blighty.
Veteran actress Sarah Douglas has had numerous sci fi roles including Ursa in the Superman films, Pamela in “V: The Final Battle,” Deathwalker/Jha'Dur in “Babylon 5,” and Yosuuf/Garshaw of Belote in “Stargate: SG-1″ among many others.
Fellow Englishwoman Sarah Sutton is well-remembered from the Fourth Doctor and Fifth Doctor eras as Nyssa of Traken on “Doctor Who”.
Sarah Douglas and Sarah Sutton were both born on this day in 1952 and 1961, respectively.

I hadnt thought about Tokra Lena but I can see it. But only if After the initial horror of finding herself sharing a body with an alien symbiote, Lena discovers Jolinar is actually a gentle, caring being. Jolinar does her best to reassure Lena, offering advice and knowledge from her own past and helping Lena face her past traumas and insecurities. Basicly the mother figure Lena never got. Also totally invested in setting her up with the new blonde teammate.
I actually wrote an entire outline for what SG-1 might have looked like if Jolinar had stayed alive in Sam (well, technically resurrected, but hey), so I very much have thoughts about Jolinar’s character. And yes, I’ve always headcanoned Jolinar as being gentle and more nurturing than the other Tok’ra. More like Selmak than Garshaw. But more sister than mother. Jolinar and Lena are of an age, emotionally.

[SG-1] 2.12: The Tok’ra (2/2)
Previously on Stargate, SG1 gets stuck with a bunch of friendly snakes...
Jfc these Tok’ra are so stubborn.
Sam just had a lightbulb moment
Teal’c is making friends!!
The Goa’uld are coming?? Evacuate!!!
Time to ask Jake to be a host.
“How about them apples, huh?”
Lol. Jakes face when they arrive is brilliant.
I love how SG3 just jumped right in to help with the evacuation.
“You don’t look so good” “you are no vision of health yourself sir”
The look on Garshaw’s face, and that poor host. Ohmygod.
Sad face! Saroosh was a sweetheart.
Yay! Jack caught a spy!
Selmak and Jake are alive!
Yay! We are now friends with the nice snakes!
“Selmak says... let me see if I can translate this: Don’t Call us, well call you”

In your opinion, what are the best S/J episodes?
It took me a while to answer this one because it’s a difficult question. A lot of very important S/J moments take place in episodes that aren’t necessarily shippy (looking at you, Evolution).
To start, obviously Solitudes. It’s the first real time they spend alone together and Jack is trying to be the good commander by keeping her hopes up and keeping her working on their survival, while she cares for him and even pretends to be his ex-wife when she thinks he’s dying.
There But For the Grace of God is set in an alternate reality and thus it’s not our Sam and Jack we see, but I do like seeing the potential of our ship. And I love the “wait a minute... engaged?!” scene in Politics when Daniel tells them about his experience in the AR.
In In the Line of Duty there isn’t a lot of obvious ship, but I like it because of how Sam’s possession affects Jack (and others) and because it leads to other things later on both for Sam personally as well as the Tok’ra etc.
There’s a lot of lost shippy potential for The Gamekeeper; just imagine Sam being with Jack rather than Daniel as they went through painful memories... so, not shippy, but just wanted to point it out.
I love the few Sam/Jack moments we get in Message In A Bottle. They’re not necessarily shippy, but they speak of Jack’s implicit trust in Sam and how heavily that weighs on her when they’re trying to figure out how to save him/Earth.
Secrets is a great episode in general and I would have loved it if they’d expanded more on Sam and Jack in DC. But there are a few moments that can be considered shippy, depending on your prescription shippy glasses. It’s also a great episode for fanfiction! So much potential.
In The Tok’ra there are a few Sam/Jack moments that can be considered shippy or just a team leader concerned for one of the people under his command... I, naturally, prefer to think of them as shippy. Jack is very wary of the Tok’ra which I consider a good policy, but he seems more distrustful of say, Martouf, than Garshaw. Hmm... I wonder why???
There’s a cute little moment between Sam and Jack in Spirits in the infirmary when they talk about her first command. Pretty much the only thing saving that awful episode, in my opinion.
A Matter of Time is a great episode and also has some nice Sam/Jack moments, even if they aren’t necessarily too shippy. And let’s not forget this little exchange between Jack and Cromwell:
Yeah, I’m sure he was going with “smarter”, Jack. Hmhm.
And who can forget the wonderful two-parter, Out of Mind and Into the Fire, with lots of shippy moments! There’s the whole Jack finding Sam when she’s naked underneath a blanket and his wandering gaze, then them pressed up against each other for “cover” in the corridors, Sam going back for Jack under the pretext of finding the “field generator”, the never-ending hug...
There is that promotion scene in Fair Game and later the brief Sam/Jack scene before the three System Lords show up.
In Point of View we meet another alternate Sam (and Kawalsky) who was married to her Jack O’Neill! Yay! Some very touching moments and then that look of conflict on our Sam’s face when Alt!Sam kisses her Jack...
Deadman Switch isn’t terribly shippy, but I do like how Jack goes back for Sam and he checks on her in a very odd but intimate way.
Jolinar’s Memories and The Devil You Know are sprinkled with tiny shippy bits throughout and even without those, they’re pretty damn good episodes. Plus, Jacob! Love me some Jacob.
I don’t think I need to tell you about the complete lack of good Sam/Jack scenes in A Hundred Days, but the episode does have some brief scenes with great implications for the ship!
Bonus points for the fishing invite scene in Nemesis!
In The Other Side there aren’t (m?)any shippy moments but the episode does a great job of showing us about their working relationship and how Jack has to make some tough choices and Sam seems to struggle with that...
Upgrades and Divide and Conquer! I do believe it goes without saying, especially the latter. Ship, ship and ship some more!
Oh, Window of Opportunity you say?
Again, Beneath the Surface goes without saying. It’s not one of my favorite eps, but it does show how a relationship between Sam and Jack could be when they’re stripped of all their baggage and the rules & regulations holding them back.
Tangent doesn’t have any super obvious shippy scenes, but I believe all true shippers can read between the lines when Sam is desperately trying to save Jack (and Teal’c) from that X-301.
There aren’t a lot of overt shippy scenes in Serpent’s Venom but I like it for the banter and Jack’s head on Sam’s belly and Jacob being all snarky to his future-son-in-law.
I like 2010 for various reasons, one of which is the very tense and loaded scene at Jack’s cabin.
The Light is another one of those episodes with great ship potential that’s barely touched upon. Thankfully we have fanfiction!
Do I really need to explain why Entity is on my list?
There are a lot of shippy glimpses, great banter and snarky Jack and Jacob in the two-parter Exodus and Enemies.
Desperate Measures is a fabulous episodes with lots of shippy layers!
I love the pride Jack has in Sam’s abilities in The Warrior, although the episode in itself isn’t all that shippy.
Smoke and Mirrors isn’t all that shippy, but I do love Sam’s faith in Jack and how she fights for him because she knows this man, she knows he would never do what he’s accused of despite how much they all hate Kinsey.
There aren’t a lot of shippy moments in Metamorphosis but, boy, do the few make up for it all!
The Changeling is a great AU episode and while light on the ship, there’s definitely some lighthearted flirting and shippy bits throughout.
I love Space Race for a multitude of reasons and the ship is one of them.
Like I mentioned earlier, there aren’t a whole lot of Sam/Jack scenes in Evolution but the ones that are present are very shippy.
Grace is a great Sam-centric episode and finally shows us the depth of her feelings for Jack (too bad she misinterpreted all her hallucinations due to her traumatic brain injuries...)
Speaking of Sam heavy episodes, I love Death Knell and how awesome Sam is in it. Also, Jack is totally going out of his mind searching for her.
This show is pretty good at doing two-parters and Heroes is another one I love. It isn’t ship heavy, but that hug...
Lost City is another great example and there’s a lot of ship! You can tell TPTB thought they’d get canceled and wanted to end it right (and totally forgot about the cop Sam was dating).
In New Order (another great two-parter!) there are a few shippy moments, especially Jack’s reaction when they find Sam!
And who can forget this moment?
Zero Hour is a great episode, really showing Jack’s struggle of being in command while “his” team is out there and (as far as he knows) in the hands of his worst enemy. But the shippy moments add some light fluff!
(omg this woman’s smile is ridiculous! she could power up the gate!)
I also like Sacrifices as a whole, but the shippy moments are pretty good as well!
The same goes for Gemini. It has some lighthearted shippy bits but also Jack being the serious commander when Sam struggles with guilt over RepliCarter.
Oops...
&
Jack’s thinking “yeah, yeah, who doesn’t? get to the point”
&
There are also some great Sam/Jack moments in It’s Good to Be King, like when they’re in the puddle jumper, the look she gives him when Maybourne is talking about his wives, the weapon grab, and later the flower thing.
And of course, Threads. There’s so much angst in the beginning and Jacob is so not helping when he keeps talking about Sam’s wedding planner stuff (the man knows what he’s doing), then the cringe-y scenes with Pete kissing her cheek while she’s on duty and meeting Jacob (she’s clearly ready to die by then) and then at Jack’s house, and Jack & Kerry, and then Jacob dying... oh man.
And that’s it, ship confirmed!
There are some bonus extras in Moebius, of course, between the alternate Sam and Jack and later ours.
Oh and while I am not a fan of SGU, there is this little bit that’s worth a mention.
INT—HOMELAND SECURITY HEADQUARTERS
[O'Neill speaks with Carter over a video conference (the conversation bouncing between their locations).]
CARTERWe barely made hyperspace. This time it was even closer.
O'NEILLWhat about casualties?
CARTERTwo of my 302s couldn't make it back, and if Rush was still on the planet…
(gently)
CARTERYes, sir. Did any of them make it to Destiny?
(worried)
Well, I think that’s about it! Hope it answers your question to satisfaction.

"Carter?" She doesn't respond, just blinks. "Carter, are you hurt?" Still no response, just frantic, rapid blinking. Her pulse is racing.
Jack lifts her shoulder. She is limp in his arms. More blinking. He thinks he can see terror in her eyes, but maybe that's his own. He puts a hand out to cradle her head and his fingers touch metal.

Male characters:

OTHER NOTES:
‘Share your entire life and control of your own body with this symbiote, otherwise you obviously don’t really want to be friends’. That’s super extreme, y’all. If the Tok’ra were not assholes, they would recognise that people wanting to remain the sole occupants of their own bodies is not unreasonable. ‘Give up your autonomy in order to prove you’re serious’ is...fucked up.
I HATE THE TOK’RA. It’s nice that Carter’s dad isn’t dead, and young JR Bourne is adorable (he aged well though, y’all. He aged really well), but they can’t rescue the Tok’ra as an organisation. The Tok’ra fucking suck.

The priestess on Fort Rozz? It's Sarah Douglas, who played Ursa (General Zod's right hand) in Superman and Superman 2.
Well, I never watched those. I recognized her from playing Garshaw of Belote from Stargate SG-1
