Summary: Garou was a dangerous man, but you couldn't help but love him.

You knew him ever since you were kids. 

You were in love when you grew older.

During your teenage years, you fell in love and couldn't help but continue being in love even when you grew up.

You knew Garou was someone who sympathised with villans over heroes. But you didn't care.

You confessed your love for him, and he didn't reject you immediately. It got your hopes up, but maybe it shouldn't have. Since the next week he stood in front of you.

"Y/N, I cannot be with you. I'm going to be a villan, someone who lives a dangerous life, I can't have someone who I should worry about. But most importatly I cannot let you get through that."

It was his exact words. The words that broke your heart.

You tried to forget him, to move on. But you just couldn't. 

One night you woke up to something or more like someone bursting through your window. 

Lucky for you you weren't a heavy sleeper so you were alarmed the second it happened. You grabbed the closest thing to you to defend yourself with, you pillow, and looked at the man laying on your floor.

Your eyes soon adjusted to the light and noticed who it was.

"Garou! What are you doing? You scared me!" Then you noticed his wound, his shirt was bloody and his eyes were too. "What happened?" you asked not expecting an answer as you ran for your first aid kit to help him. 

You were no nurse or doctor, but you were thankful for the classes that your college made you go to so you were able to do some basics.

You patched up his side, stopped the bleeding and gave him medicine. 

All he could do in the process was to groan out in pain. 

The next three days you contiued to nurse Garou. He was unconcious for the most part only woke up to be fed.

You did leave to go to work, and every time you arrived home youexpected him to be gone, but he wasn't. He was still sleeping in your bed.

One afternoon you arrived earlier and found him sitting in your living room watching TV.

"Good to see you up Garou. Are you feeling better?" you asked with a kind smile on your face.

"Y/N." he started but you stopped him. You didn't like how serious he sounded.

"It's okay. Even if you will only need me to patch up your wounds or hide for a few days, I'm willing to do it for you. You know I love you and you were very clear about your feelings. However, if one day you don't find me home alone, that should be your sign to leave. But until then, feel free to come."

You said as you put on more comfortable shorts and a shirt. You moved back into the living room.

"I made a mistake. I should have been honest with you, I actually love you, Y/N. I really do, but my path is not something I want you to drag you along." he said as he hugged you, you hugged him back. Enjoying how his muscular form fit against yours. 

"I love you too. And you won't drag me along, I'll go willingly. As long as I get to be with you." He pulled back and captured your lips against his.

You knew he was dangerous. That his life style wasn't good for you, but you didn't care. You loved him and that's all that mattered.

It weird to think how, sometimes, couples and partners have some sort of sixth sense for each other. Could be just from being around long enough to be able to read your special one like a book.

From the smallest things like knowing your partner probably forgot to grab something, or how they're definitely going to need their favorite snack with the way their acting, to even more of intimate needs.

It just happens. No questions are hardly asked, you just know. But you don't know when or how your clothes and his clothes started coming off, but you both just knew. That weird sixth sense. Played out like it's rehearsed with the way your bodies move in sync to each other's responses and touches.

Then there's just some things you can't predict, even for yourself. Like today. How much more his touch affected you. How little effort it was taking to get you riled up.

Almost too much. His lips, his hands, down your stomach, between your legs. His fingers slipping inside, so needily sucking him in and coating them in your creamy juices.

"S-Sai, please be gentle."

His concentrated gaze breaks when he hears your pleading whine, shifting to a different gaze of focus beneath him.

"Gentle? I thought I was..."

With a firmer curling thrust of his fingers, a cry escapes your throat as your back arches by reflex. A stunned look takes over his soft face.

"What's with you?" He asks, "Sensitive or something today?"

He tilts his head in thought, keeping eye contact, "I dunno ___, you looking like that doesn't make me wanna be more gentle."

His fingers circle deeply inside of you, drawing a lip-bitten moan from your chest. He raises your leg and pins it to your chest, his intentions clear he wants more of you.

"Sai!" You huff, "Chill!"

"Alright alright, don't whine at me. Geez." He groans, letting your leg down.

"Be nice to me."

As he lowers himself between your legs, he plants tender kisses on your tummy, then on your thighs, "You know I won't hurt you. I'll take good care of you."

You almost believe it. He'd never bring you pain, but definitely to tears. And by the way he has himself propped up, it's in a way you can't close your legs or squirm away...he's trapped you like this before.

"Saitama, I swear!"

He's got a grin on his face as his fingers start working again, very little difference from before, "Hey, I said I'd take good care of you! Relax."

"I know what you're...planning."

Oh, but you do. Just one of those things you know, without second thought.

The difference between 'monsters' and monsters in OPM

@garoumylove has been posting some interesting meta on Garou and monsters (please go check their posts out! 1 and 2 ). I was pondering what was the essential difference between the way Garou understood monsters and what they actually were in the story, and I think I've hit on it.

The metaphorical monsters that Garou identifies with and the way people talk about being seen as a monster as a stand-in for being seen as socially unacceptable is Outside-In. It's society's opinion of you as not-ok, regardless of how you see yourself.

Actual monsters, by which I mean the transformed, used-to-be-human monsters in OPM are Inside-Out. Regardless of how they're seen by society, the person WANTS TO RENOUNCE THEIR HUMANITY and does so. It's not about being in a bad mood, being an outlaw (there are many criminals in OPM who haven't the slightest intention of becoming monsters, and good people who do), or even having strong interests.

Definitely, if you are hard done by others, it's easier to monsterize, but it's not a guarantee. I loved the way Bakuzan -- by all accounts, a highly successful, well-regarded person -- avidly consumed monster cells as he'd long been jealous of Suiryu.

No matter what other people say about you, no matter how bullied, cheated, or discriminated against you are; no matter what laws you've broken or crimes you've committed; no matter how angry or broken or depressed or confused you feel, only you can make yourself a monster.

The question that the story of OPM hasn't answered in full yet is: what does it mean to renounce one's humanity?

If Bang used his connections to arrange a surprise meeting between Garou and Kiiro….as in a birthday treat for his baby boy then how do you think it will go?

Hmm, well....probably not in the way Bang (as the old womanizer in his youth) expects, there. ;) Considering the sentai character she plays (as the yellow ranger) likely represents Garou's fictional ideal of a kind hero...his biggest surprise might be realizing that the actress (as the real person behind the role) is not the same as the fictional character(s) she plays. :O Which is just like him, actually - since Garou's true nature is not the same as the 'absolute evil' role he tried so hard to play (as a bad actor) too. Which is ok in that sense...bc if anything, perhaps him realizing that, and becoming at peace with it, would better translate into a lesson where he'd become even more accepting of himself (his real self) that way. :')

Thinking about how vampirism in the World of Darkness isn’t just dehumanizing in the sense that it makes you a literal monster but also how the Embrace quite directly rips away some of the most meaningful parts of someone’s identity to make room for the Beast.

Like, the obvious examples here are Garou and mages, given that the former, when Embraced, become the aptly-named Abominations, who lose their connection to Gaia and the Umbra and find themselves forcibly aligned with the Wyrm, the force that they view as the most horrific and destructive thing in the world; and the latter have their Avatar, their connection to magic and possibility and understanding, utterly annihilated— their one guiding light extinguished and replace with an entity that is (except for probably in the case of widderslainte) more vicious and cruel than even the most harrowing Avatar.

It’s telling that the Embrace is thus reflective of something each group considers to be one of the worst fates imaginable: dancing the Black Spiral and undergoing Gilgul, respectively.

But that’s a lot of jargon and doesn’t really hit if you don’t know the details of those game lines— the haunting part is that the basic idea remains the same even for mortals.

I mean, it’s true that everyone, mortal or otherwise, has some degree of intrusive urges toward malicious behavior, but the Beast is just so much worse than that. To be Embraced is to straightforwardly die, to lose the essence that keeps you alive, and have it brought back in this twisted form— from now on, to live is to kill and the Beast will never let you forget it.

Sure, vampires still retain their old interests and passions. I’m personally not keen on the interpretation of Kindred as inherently not having things like empathy, creativity, or grief. I think they still feel compassion and curiosity and tranquility and love and all that… but always, lurking behind them, is the Beast.

And maybe I’m just being a self-serious edge-boi but that’s such an unnerving thought. To still care about the people around you, but never without something whispering about how much you need— deserve— their loyalty, their service, their deaths.

Summary: Every night he crawled into your bed, and every morning he left.

Your relationship with Garou had been nothing but complicated.

From the moment you invited him over after a night at a bar, you knew exactly what he was doing.

He was looking for a place to crash and you became the perfect fool he can take advantage of.

But you didn’t care much.

Months ago, when he first came over he fucked you so good, you could barely walk the next day.

Then you met him a couple weeks later, and the same happened. You invited him over, you two had sex in the shower, you fell asleep next to him, but he was gone the next morning. 

However, that time, he left his phone number.

After this, he texted you almost every day, asking if he can come over. 

You always said yes.

You had nothing to lose, you lived alone and he was an amazing fuck.

He always gave you the best time either with his fingers, tongue or cock.

It was a simple exchange. 

But of course, you had to ruin it.

You fell in love. 

Truly a mistake on your part.

Who falls in love with a monster?

Or at least, tried to.

The next morning you were more than shocked to find him still in your bed.

That never happened before for the last year he has been coming over.

But you weren't complaining, you stayed in his arms. Not moving. You were scared that if you moved, he would just bolt out the door and never come back.

You ended up falling back to sleep. 

You woke up a couple of hours later to a certain feeling between your legs.

It took you a couple moments to realise what was going on  Garou was in between your legs eating you out. 

“Garou.” you said with a moan. “What are you-“ but he just decided to add a finger making your job to stop him a lot more difficult.

You tried to object, but his tongue found your clin just perfectly as he continued.

Your legs started to shake as you came.

No warning or anything.

Just a loud moan.

"Garou." you called his name in your moment of bliss.

Just as you came back to your senses you realized that he was standing up and ready to leave.

"Where are you going?" you asked as he got ready to open your door.

And you made up your mind. You will break this... whatever this is between you and Garou and you.

You were over the anger, the worry and the heartbreak. You never knew if he would come back or not, you never knew if he would die out there or not. 

You couldn't live like that anymore.

As much as it hurt, you wanted it all to end.

Garou arrived back later that afternoon. You were sitting on your couch watching a movie when he arrived.

You knew you needed to talk, but you were still scared to do it.

You loved him.

You loved his attitude, you loved his eyes and his wicked smile. You loved his obsession with monsters.

"We can't keep doing this." you ended up saying as you looked up at him. "This is ruining me, I feel so deeply for you, even though you told me not to get attached... I did. And this is killing me. Seeing you leave when I would need you the most. I simply can't continue like this, not for the sex, not for anything. It is not worth it, I'm sorry. I want a relationship, a man who I can lean on, who doesn't leave to fight heroes on a daily without telling me."

"What if I tell you? Would you be with a man like that, who hunts and kills heroes?"

"I would be with you. I would love to love you freely, without any hesitation. But you are not that, Garou and we both know."

"You deserve better. But at the same time, I would kill anyone who dares to touch you. So, what should we do?"

"What do you mean? Why are you saying that?" you asked, confused.

"I want to be the best for you, but the best of me, not an idea of a man. I want to be a monster, the strongest monster, but... I want to be yours and for you to be mine.”

You didn’t want to believe his words. He must be lying. But his eyes were on yours and you could see the truth in them. 

He was telling the truth. 

And suddenly, you became aware of everything around you.

It was a warm summer evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and painted the sky in hues of pink and gold, surrounded by the heady scent of blooming roses, you didn't even notice that he had roses in his hand.

As he stood there, gazing into your eyes, a spark ignited between you, a flame of desire that burned brightly in the gathering darkness as the sun began to set. 

Garou took a few steps as you stood up, allowing him to reach out to caress your cheek, his touch sending shivers down your spine. 

You leaned into his embrace, your lips seeking his in a passionate kiss that spoke of longing and love and a promise.

A promise of forever.

Your bodies pressed together, hearts beating as one, you lost yourself in the moment, in his arms, yet again. 

The world around you fading into insignificance. 

In that small apartment, you were the only two souls in reality, your love a force of nature that could not be restricted.

As the moon rose high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over your entwined bodies, you and Garou knew that you were bound together by a love that was as timeless as the stars above. 

Even if this all started because of convenience. He needed a place to sleep, and you needed a man to fuck away your problems.

In that passionate moment, you found comfort and joy.

Your hearts overflowing with the beauty of their shared bond, something that was so unspoken before, not it was reality.

And as you lay there, lost in his arms, you knew that your love would endure, a beacon of light in a world filled with darkness.

I would have preferred if Garou had kept his memory after the whole time travel adventure, and managed to do something Saitama and Genos hadn't: realize that Saitama is a problem.

I wish garou would have run off into the jungles like he did in the webcomic and just gone absolutely bonkers with forbidden knowledge, finally seeing that every big conflict comes to a head with this bald man, and how that isn't a good thing because that means the only thing standing between humanity and the kind of havoc people like himself try to wreak every day is a man who never gets there in time, never learns, and never changes despite having fended off such world shattering enemies several times before.

Can you imagine Garou being chased out of the town square because he's there with a megaphone telling an absolutely insane story about him being radioactive and getting knocked the fuck out by a god egg?

It's funny, but also could have so many interesting story repercussions; the Hero Association, who laughed Genos off, now have to rethink their entire approach to everything because the guy who was kicking the shit out of their heroes two weeks ago now wants nothing to do with them and is instead running around freaking out about the same story Genos told them, with the caveat that he doesn't think Saitama's supposed strength is anything but a ticking time bomb.

Genos would definitely end up hearing about what Garou is up to, and have to wrestle with his jealousy, his suspicion of Garou, and his attachment to Saitama if he is going to eventually team up with the only other person who knows the full extent of the truth about Saitama's power in order to prevent the doom Garou predicts will come about should other forces as powerful as the hero hunter was continue to challenge Saitama.

And of course, running around town doomsdaying is sure to catch the attention of Bang, who has no idea what to do with Garou anymore, the attention of the general population, who are going to flip their shit when the "ultimate evil" suddenly changes his mind about killing them and is trying to warn them of an even more ultimate evil, and also the attention of the exact kind of challengers Garou is trying to warn everyone about, who no doubt will be drawn to Saitama the way people who learn of his power often are.

I just think it could have been a real domino effect type deal. That being said, I'm not wanting ONE and Murata to change what they have in mind for the story. Somehow I get the feeling that the experienced writers and artists who have brought us countless other great stories have a better idea of how OPM should proceed than a guy with a Tumblr account and a dream.

…actually, that would also be an interesting scenario. Gojo and Garou find Megumi at the same time, thereby forcing Garou to admit he is actually helping.

I do not want to see Garou and Gojo in a room together, though. I think the world would legitimately end.

Garou

Getting into feisty arguments and fights with this guy was not rare in your relationship. You’d sometimes even go days without speaking.

But this time was different. You both got into a fight which escalated a LOT. Garou’s self control got out of hand and he said some things that hurt you like nothing ever did. It felt like he stabbed right into your heart.

Of course you started to cry. Was that really the way he thought about you?

He realized himself that what he said was a bit too much when massaging his temples out of frustration, “ah shit..look Y/N forget what I said.”

But that would just make you more upset. How could he simply take back something this severe?

He couldn’t stand seeing you cry in front of him. You really were one of his only weaknesses.

He’d pull you into a tight hug and wouldn’t let go even if you demanded to.

“Not letting ya go..y’know I love you right?”

You both are too stubborn to admit one of you was in the wrong but he still apologizes in his own way.

Lots of physical affection. He will make sure not to lash out on you like that again

Flashy flash

While he tends to avoid unnecessary conflict especially with his lover, he simply won’t stand still if something bothers him - even if it’s you.

Sometimes you could just be a little too much for him, a little too overbearing.

And Flashy flash was one to bluntly say what was on his mind. There was no need for sugar coating.

So when he said that you were being too much on him, it came off harsher than intended.

You were immediately drawing to conclusions, thinking that he wanted to break up with you. It was only natural for tears to fall down your cheeks.

Flashy flash certainly got surprised. This was the first time he’s ever seen you in such a vulnerable state. The first time he’s seen you cry.

Without a word he’d immediately wrap his arms around you, something rather unusual for him to do even as your boyfriend.

“I didn’t mean it like that.”

He’d mutter a little apology and let you cry yourself out.

Little words would be spoken to eachother but you’d both understand what the other felt. And you’d both try to better yourselves for the other.

Okay I have been obsessing about Kremy’s story in particular in episode 53, and I REALLY want to talk about it (spoilers under cut)

okay, SO. In episode 53, Kremy told the story of how he met Garou, and at the end, Nikkie explained that Kremy (and, consequently, the rest of the party) had forgotten about Garou’s existence entirely. As far as Kremy’s concerned, he never met and worked under Garou. Which has interesting implications in of itself, but also…beforehand, Kremy made it sound like he was going to tell the story of how he met Gideon instead. Which has me thinking about what would’ve happened if Kremy DID tell that story instead.

Now, I doubt Kenny would’ve forgotten Gideon’s existence as a whole, since that would’ve been VERY complicated considering that Kremy and Gideon have been traveling together for a decade and the fact that Gideon was sitting next to Kremy (I imagine). But I do think that Kremy and Gideon would just suddenly forger that first meeting. Hell, maybe even the first few weeks (if not that first year) they were traveling together, when their relationship was more “conman and his hired help”, before they became genuine friends.

Which, if that would be the case, then I imagine Kremy and Gideon would’ve forgotten that initial contract entirely. So, as far as Kremy would’ve been concerned, he has just known Gideon for the majority of his adult life. They’re friends. There was no contract.

But, of course, that didn’t happen. Instead he told the story of how he met Garou, and then forgot Garou’s existence entirely. Which has really big implications on Kremy’s entire character because I’m pretty sure he spent quite a bit of time under Garou’s thumb. I’m not sure exactly how long, but if i did the math right, it was probably for about a decade (give or take a couple years), if Kremy met Garou in his late teens/early twenties, and ran away in his late twenties/early thirties (I’m also assuming Kremy met Gideon not long after he ran away from Garou).

So…Kremy’s missing a LOT of time. He just went from working at his hometown—young, powerless, and in essentially rags—to meeting Gideon—much older now, with magic given to him via the Baron, and in significantly nicer clothes than before. Not to mention, he suddenly had skills and knowledge he wouldn’t have had before.

Don’t get me wrong, Torbek’s missing time is significant for him in a different way, but holy fuck. Kremy’s missing a whole ass DECADE. I know it probably won’t affect him significantly character-wise, but the potential is THERE.
