Vaughn Morozov

A hc of what I imagine him to be like.

Vaughn Morozov, the Pakhan's heir. The Gentleman of the Bratva. The Manipulator. The Mastermind.

He isnt necessarily silent and quiet but he doesn't talk much, either. He got the manners, the charm and the etiquette of what one would call the ideal man. He has the looks, the body, the height, the hair and the money. But above all he is responsible and a smart man.

He knows when and how to use his charm especially in terms of business to either get the deal done or to deceit. He knows and plans things so effortlessly well, its almost flawless. He is also 10 steps ahead of everyone. He is analytical and calculative. A Mastermind. He rules the game, the world and the people, and he would do it so easily that they won't even realise it.

He isnt known as the gentleman for no reason. He is respectful and straightforward. Unlike most of the ruthless men in the Bratva, who springs to brutal actions almost immediately, he is calm. He resorts to let the mind games play, he likes messing up the mentality of the people, because he understands that mental pain is possibly more cruel and painful than physical pain. He resorts to quietly finishing the job because he isnt a fan of showcasing his work to the people.

He is so eloquent with his words and works. He dont need to talk much to get people on his side. He is a man of his words but mostly a man of actions. He won't hesitate to strike when nobody is looking, he won't hesitate to manipulate and make things work out on his favour.

He is a smart man, he knows what strings to pull, what steps to take. And it all comes from being a logical thinker, it comes from having parents who are one of the most important figures in the Bratva, he knows he needs to be well aware of his surroundings in case trouble strikes. It comes from seeing situations through every looking glass. It comes from being a born-leader.

He likes to keep the side of his street clean and that's very hard to maintain especially being in the mafia. But nobody knows what happens to people who has crossed him or his loved ones. You just know they have suffered gravely. He keeps his business private. Those who needs to know will know and that's it.

He drives. Really, really well. The Mercesdes-Benz, his parents got him for his 18th birthday is one of his prized possessions. He dont ask for much from his parents, he rarely does. Mostly because they have provided him with all that he needed. And it's because he doesn't want to leech off people, he don't want to ask things from anyone when he knows he is equally capable of being able to do it for himself.

When he is in the UK, he rides his bike, going for joy rides with them. Though he maybe the youngest, he is undoubtedly a brilliant and mature one. Sophisticated and intimidating, Vaughn enjoys his chase. But he also let's down his guard and takes in the fresh air of youth, he knows how to enjoy his life while learning not to be vulnerable in the eyes of the people.

He can cook, clean, fend for himself. He is self-sufficient and has learned from a young age that there is no other way to success other than hard work along with smart work.

He likes to read. He like to solve puzzles, play chess, watch crime documentaries and just solve anything that needs to be solved. Maybe that's boring for most but that's how he keeps his brain to actively work and think strategically.

He is also athletic, joining the school's sports team to keep himself physically fit. He may not be the best at it but he is above average, he plays football, basketball, tennis. Exceptionally great at ice hockey (according to my headcannon.)

Because he likes to keep himself updated with the people around him and the world, he knows many things about people. If he wants he can extract informations that people have tried their best to hide too.

He might even enlist in the military, just like his mom and dad and climb ranks, but he might not stay long to accomplish that, maybe for some few mandatory years. Because he has other responsibilities. But he will be there for the experience and knowledge.

He is academically thriving as well. Taking up computer science, physics or any of the challenging STEM subjects, because like mentioned above he likes to keep his brain to actively work to find solutions.

He is without a doubt a great son and a great friend. He won't say it out loud but he will, for sure, be there for people who needs him. Be it for advise or just being there for them. He is a great companion to his dad, helping him with works, though his father never asks him to burden himself with such works at a young age. He is a great son to his mom, driving her to places, going shopping for anything, helping his mom around the house though they have people for that.

He is the type of son, whose parents need not worry about him doing the wrong thing or being in the wrong place. They only worry about him over working himself. He likes to be in his best behaviour, be the best in what he do.

Overall, Vaughn Morozov, is a man, who obviously has his flaws but doesn't shy away from correcting himself and move forward to be better and stronger.

He made a cameo and im intrigued by him. But honestly, as much as I want to read about him judging by how RK has disappointed some(most) of her characters in their own books, I'm afraid she might do the same to Vaughn too. So in a way, it's better to leave him as he is, but at the same time he seems to be a character full of potential, to me at least.

"Directors of the Monsterverse" notes

The one featurette exclusive to the 4K Godzilla/Kong Monsterverse 5-Film Collector's Edition set is also just up on Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu) for free. It's possible that the disc version is longer, but what's on streaming has a hefty 49:06 runtime, so I doubt it.

Notes on the discussion:

The venue is Warner Bros. Stage 11, "where Casablanca and ER were shot."

Skullcrawler egg props from Godzilla vs. Kong were present, as well as the goofy Godzilla suit used to promote King of the Monsters.

Mike Dougherty brought one of his dogs. (Recall that the his dogs inspired the personalities of Ghidorah's three heads.)

Jordan Vogt-Roberts took Adam Wingard out to dinner shortly after he was hired to direct Godzilla vs. Kong, warning him what to expect on his first mega-budget movie (a "Scared Straight thing"). That led to the Monsterverse directors meeting up more regularly.

Vogt-Roberts relays an analogy from producer Eric McLeod: trying to do something spontaneous on a larger film set, like changing a shot angle, is like steering an aircraft carrier.

Gareth Edwards described the feeling of visiting a Godzilla set that wasn't his own movie (King of the Monsters) as like "walking in on your wife cheating on you."

The ever-escalating zaniness of the Monsterverse films wasn't carefully considered, it just happened; Wingard, for one, felt it wasn't possible to return to the tone of Godzilla (2014) after King of the Monsters.

Dougherty describes a Toho Studios visit where he wore part of a Godzilla suit.

Vogt-Roberts never imagined that the Hollow Earth introduced in Kong: Skull Island would become so integral to subsequent films.

The opening credits for Godzilla (2014) were inspired by the JFK credits.

Edwards ordered a ton of G-Fan back issues to prepare for directing Godzilla, and was surprised when the package included a note from J.D. Lees apologizing for bashing Monsters in one of those issues.

Wingard carefully maneuvers Edwards away from saying that following King Kong vs. Godzilla was a much easier task than following the original Godzilla or King Kong, as he should.

Dougherty says he's glad that they as a group gave Kong a happy ending ("for now").

Vogt-Roberts doesn't accept that Kong lost against Godzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong because their battle against Mechagodzilla was part of the same fight; embarks on a lengthy military analogy. Wingard disagrees vociferously. Dougherty tries to say something but Edwards advises him to "let them fight."

Vogt-Roberts wanted Kong to have brown fur to reflect the rabbit fur used on the original stop-motion model.

Edwards jokes that they kept trying variations on Godzilla's design until "someone came with a gun and went, 'If you don't stop now, the movie doesn't get released.'"

I think there's a behind-the-scenes shot of Mothra (showing the layers of VFX that went into her waterfall emergence) that wasn't in the King of the Monsters bonus features.

Ready Player One was released just as Wingard's team was settling on Mechagodzilla's Godzilla vs. Kong design; he was dismayed to hear about it at first, then relieved to see how different it looked.

Vogt-Roberts really wants to see Hedorah turn up in the Monsterverse.

gareth david-lloyd is such a wonderful voice actor. i keep rethinking of his reading of the line "i will always go where you go." and it sounds so resigned and pained, like already solas knows he is going down a path that will lead to death and horror but his friend needs him, the people need him. they need his wisdom and guidance, and he knows taking on a physical form will not only be his undoing, but that of the world as he knows it. but still he goes, because duty comes above all.

Like i was trying to search what it reminded me of with that whole "very epic and heroic sci-fi orchestral" vibe only to come to the horrifying realization that it was ARK.

Vaughn Morozov, Kirill and Sasha's son, heir to the New York Bratva, the one and only Pakhan's heir.

Being the sole heir and born to loving parents, Vaughn was raised in a family of love, despite the harsh reality of the mafia world.

From a young age, he knew of his future, the legacy he had to continue, the empire he had to lead. Yet, his parents didn't pressurize him about such responsibilities wanting him to live a "normal life" for as long as he could.

But Vaughn, was, well one could say, a thoughtful kid who is mature for his age. He displayed leadership skills from a young age, even when he was with Jeremy or Nikolai and was younger than them, he did not lack behind anywhere. Especially when it came to academic and being a smartass.

Hazel eyes like his mother with dark brown/black hair like his father, Vaughn was blessed with good looks, not Greek God sculpture like but definitely one that would be preserved in a museum just because there was no one else like him. At this growing stage he was tall, maybe not always the tallest amongst The Heathens but his growth spurts were definitely not done growing. Standing a good 6'3 already at the age of 17.

If it was anyone else, one might use the advantage of what he had, after all he has almost everything, the money, the power, the looks, the charm and the brain. But this man is just so uninterested and aloof when it came to dating life or just having a crush in general.

Seeing his mom and dad be in love, Vaughn too desired for it, wondering how it feels to be in love and be taken care by that one special person. And so he thought he was defected for never once experiencing having such romantic feelings for anyone.

Don't get it wrong, yes he is still young but while he has heard here and there from his friends about their crushes when they were little boys. Little Vaughn was curious and frustrated for never being able to experience such fluttery feelings.

So once he got older and got to learn more academic knowledge and just what life had to offer to a 15 year old, Vaughn started expecting less from the world.

he just got more aloof on those expectations. He didn't care anymore, he had his own standards to live upto.

Okay but maybe just maybe, He was 'intrigued' to know more about a certain someone. Yeah, that's it. Just curious about a particular female, who had bagged a prestigious scholarship to study in the expensive, elite,private school Vaughn goes to.

Why her in particular? There were other scholarship kids in the school too, but it was just her, he wanted to know about.Well, he don't have the answer to that yet.

A bright student, academically thriving and even street smart. She is a hard worker and an achiever. But that didn't mean she overestimated herself or belittled others.

Whatever it maybe, she was grateful to be able to study here. Coming from a working lower middle class family, she wasn't underprivileged but not well to do either. So she decided to take the advantage of the scholarship and study and earn a good certificate to support her education even for college.

For credits and pocket money, she took up part time jobs in the library near their school and started tutoring the new freshmen batch.To keep her scholarship, she had to work, work and keep on working to maintain her grades.

She was 2 years younger than him and was a class below him. Her a sophomore and him a junior. And all he did was observe her from afar.

He has this habit of pulling out as much information as he could about people, literally anyone he wanted to know about. Knowledge is power afterall.

He would never admit it but he would watch over her anywhere she would be in the school premises- like sitting on the first floor of the library, observing from above, as she taught the group of freshmen. He was jealous. But poor boy, just couldnt understand it. He felt a tug in his heart everytime he saw her talk to people who isn't him.

Yet her whole freshman year, Vaughn just watched over her, admired her from afar.

The first time they actually had an encounter was during her sophomore year.

Lidya had added her to her debate team for the annual school debate competition, where the boys and the girls debated against each other.

She spoke before him, then it was his turn to speak.....

He stuttered. He freaking stuttered. Vaughn Morozov never lost his cool and confidence, let alone stutter. At least, he was quick to cover it with a cough.

Debate ended. And the girls took that trophy.

He messed up. This was no way to make a first good impression, but his pride didn't allow him to correct himself. He didn't say or do anything only watching her as she walked away from him and gosh did she look good even in their royal blue school uniform. He was malfunctioning surely.

He was almost everywhere she was at this point.(as though he wasn't doing that already)

Whenever she had to tutor the freshmen? Yeah he has some books to research on for his credits.( would be on the same floor above her, just watching her whilst doing his school works.)

When she is doing part time job? Yeah, he is busy studying in the same library she works at.

He would even do her chemistry homework for her. He started doing this when he discovered she did not like the subject at all.

Though she did confront him not to snoop around her homework. She preferred to do it herself she said, but he didn't stop.

His parents started to notice that he would be late from school most of the days and he simply told them he prefers studying in the library and finishing his homework there.

She felt awkward that there was a shadow following her most of the time, but she got used to it slowly as he won't do anything other than quietly doing his own work and occasionally having a break time by staring at her and finding one topic or another to banter on.

He will always be there for her, whether she like it or not. All she had to do was call him, after all she had him on speed dial.(magically so). Taking advantage of his height as he saved his number on her phone.

Somedays he even helped her stack the books in the library, the upper shelves where she couldn't reach unless with the assist of a ladder. Somedays he held the ladder for her.

And he did it without a word. They weirdly managed to spend time with each other without realising and without talking much.

Some days her buys her coffee or different flavours of milkshakes or some sweet treats.

"Eat up, Darling." Is the only thing he would say. And she would glare at him. That was something new. Well, at least verbally because in his head, thats what he always calls her whenever he sees her. She appreciated his actions but that didn't mean it made them any sort of acquaintances.

He knew she was tolerating his presence not exactly despising it but also not exactly welcoming. So he made sure that as much as he showed his actions, many others were hidden.

He walks her to her student apartment housing that the school has provided for the scholarship kids, especially forgeigners like herself.

'No.' Is a word he wont take, rejecting her rejection, he lies about his house location, saying he is going to cross her place anyways. (He doesn't, infact he lives at the richer part of the neighbourhood, probably a good 30 minutes drive away from school.)

He wasn't taking the chance, he would make sure she is safe from anything and anyone. Lord save anyone who crossed her, because if they crossed her they crossed Vaughn too.

She is independent and stood for herself not letting anyone walk over her, so she would tell people off either passive or aggressive or both.

But Vaughn? Yeah, no one is getting off the hook easily if he catches those people who got on his bad side. Not before a good warning (like a few loose teeth and broken bones. But it's not him who is getting his hands dirty, he got men for that afterall).

This boy is emotionally constipated for goodness sake.

Who captures someone's phone as hostage to make them watch his game? Yeah definitely not this genuis.

In his defense, she refused his first offer. It was only reasonable he took something she would need, to keep her till the end of the games around him.

Almost messed up the game, the first time he made her stay after school for his game. It was evident she had no idea about ice hockey and its rules.

It made him feel oddly fuzzy to see her not know about something for once, as if it was a chance for him to teach her something new. (cue future ice skating dates practices)

Secretly writing letters and slipping it inside her lockers, made sure she was always either sitting infront of him or beside him, during her AP classes with him.

It's funny how Lidya never suspected anything, considering she had become great friends with her.

Well, it's actually a wonder that no one saw how the Morozov would act near the scholarship kid (okay it's reasonable they didn't know, since whatever moments they shared was never something in the public infront of people)

He had unknowingly, uncharacteristically grown used to this presence in his life.

Learned her favourite food, favourite band and the type of genre she liked, the type of weather she was the least cranky towards him, the way she liked to arranged her assignments, her favourite subject, her interest in space.

You know all the normal likes and dislikes (liar, it was unethical how he found out).

She had this weird attachment to her phone. Liked to carry her lip balms with her always.

Couldn't keep up with small talks to save her own life. Was probably an even drier texter than him, and he doesn't even reply to people unless he knows it's emergency, so that's something else.

He knew she called her parents every night to make sure they know she is alive. Again all the informations, a normal person should know right- (Even Lidya don't know half the information her machine of a cousin did)

Burying her nose in between her books- academic or reading for her own pleasure. Found out she is multilingual, found her personal records the school had (truly om accident, he was testing out the new coding he recently developed-)

He liked how they would have their own little debates in the library about the classical books they were reading. Then the 'debate' changes to proving each other wrong about their theories on space to him asking if she was hungry to asking her- no demanding her to stop being so stubborn and let him help her with her works.

He just know, he couldn't see anyone else but her. She was the only worthy opponent for him, the one who silently challenges him to be better, work harder and smarter each time.

She was the only worthy person to him, someone who would put him in his place without hesitation.

In his eyes, together they would be unstoppable. Together, they would be on top of any and every food chain.

So what they were just high school students? He knew, that she was his ultimate conquest,no matter what challenges would come to him.

So what if she never gives him the attention he craved from her? So what if he has to chase her even when she pushed him harder each time? He didn't mind it at all. He liked his challenges, he liked how brilliant and fascinating she is.

Over time, he got used to helping her despite her protests- chem homeworks, part time work, or just being there for her.

And no matter what, he wouldn't stop protecting her from any harm, from any danger. And he will do it without her knowing.

She was his girl after all. He wasn't going to upset her by being an idiot who didn't know boundaries. He wanted her to know he respected her.

She was his lady after all. No matter how many glares she sent towards his direction, it would never fail to make his heart skip a beat. No matter how short and how bland her answers were to his failed attempts to make a conversation with her.

He is ready to do anything and everything for her. And no one would dare even look at her the wrong way, not infront of him. As long as he is alive, he was going to make sure he provides her safety and just be there at her disposal.

P.S: She found out a few months into their odd, secret rendezvous that Mr. Vaughn couldn't help but have the faintest smile or the slightest smirk on his face whenever she glared at him or be rude to him. And this only causes her to either glare harder or shove past him and walk away in annoyance.
