If people make cutesy posts about growing food and herb spirals and composting but never talk about stuff like preventing and getting rid of rats in a garden, I get this suspision that they either haven't actually gardened much or they're more interested in presenting an aesthetically pleasing image than in actually preparing people to deal with a garden.

I hate our shitty apartment and I can't stand our asshole neighbor, but I do know the names of all the plants growing around our building, and I've been watching the same birds for so long that I recognize specific individuals. There's a male cardinal who I refuse to name (because I won't name wild animals), but who I fondly refer to as "the Loud Boy." He just finished growing his feathers back after molting for the year.

My little container garden attracts pollinators and birds, and it makes this shitty living situation a little bit brighter. It's about the only thing that keeps me going some days, but it does keep me going.

aging is such a tremendous privilege and I truly hope that I get the opportunity one day to be the funny wise old lady who spends my days gardening and is everybody’s grandma and gives young women good life advice. don’t ever fall into the “anti-aging” shit that is being pushed on women constantly, aging fucking rules and there are far too many who never get to experience it

Still thinking about ISAT so I made designs for them for a few years after the game's events. Slight spoilers for ISAT below? Not really tho. Captions: Picture one: Siffrin and Beau's bonding earrings. They shaped them to look like shooting stars and reminiscent of Isa's old earrings. Siffrin has a star-shaped scar under his eyepatch. I don't make the rules! I also gave Siffrin a cape. I imagine Isabeau gets super into fashion and Siffrin becomes his model and muse. Whatever he thinks will look good gets slapped onto Siffrin; their outfits are ALWAYS changing and they adore it. But they won't wear super heavy clothes. Picture two: Isabeau and Bonibelle! Isa is rocking an undercut and started growing out his beard a bit. He, like Mira, incorporates the change symbol into his clothes as he keeps his devotion to the Defenders. Boy is in his fashion designer era though, so many changes to the outfits happen. Bonnie's maxed out the cooking skills! They've gone back home to Petronille and are very active outdoors, always finding new interests. They've gotten into drawing and etymology, and those often come together! And in their pocket, they keep a gift from Siffrin: his silver coin. (It's definitely a joke that it's a symbol of Siffrin's eye and Bonnie gets to keep it.) Picture three: The ISAT girlies! They have the least changed about themselves but it's very symbolic. Odile has always been comfortable with her style, but she's started getting into writing novellas. After their journey, Odile's knee started going so she uses a cane and orthopedic shoes, but it doesn't slow her down much. If anything, it's only made her reach longer. Mirabelle started taking design courses with Isabeau and her Stylish classmate. She loves wearing flow-y dresses, and dressing like Euphrasie. She loves to change her hair and experiment with her hair texture and what she can make it into, but otherwise, Mira's stayed true to herself. And she's out of the dating pool, for sure, but that hasn't stopped her from picking up teaching classes at Dormont's house. (Also, her ears are pierced, but she's stopped wearing them.) Both girls send letters often back and forth for book club. And on the side, for Siffrin, they've been researching into the country North of Vaugarde. Anyway, honestly? I'm just having a lot of fun daydreaming about them and what they're up to. I REQUIRE a second ISAT about Siffrin's country. It'd be Neat (◐‿◑)

it’s extremely funny to me that sonic not giving a shit about morality is one of his oldest character traits. like it’s from the sonic 1 japanese instruction manual. canonically he doesn’t do stuff bc he cares about right or wrong he just likes doing things. it’s just he likes making people happy and dislikes people who are awful to others. he’s an empathetic, friendly guy, which normally leads to him doing good, but he's entirely operating off of what brings him joy. and that leads to him being able to do some wild shit without a second thought. this is one of his earliest established character traits.

Honestly if you want change as bad as I do most days you have to break some fuckin rules and encourage & educate others on what you’re doing is important in all seasons.

Go out and gurilla garden next season. Start a seed and put the sprout somewhere. Go to your local bando with a friend who has the same mentality as you and use your blood, sweat, tears into turning the place into a community space or whatever it can be used for. Start tiny and put out a drying line for your clothes! Give a neighbor that spare steel water bottle! Hand make some bread! SOMETHING ANYTHING PLEASE JUST MAKE SOME CHANGES TO HOW WE FUNCTION P L E A S E
