When I got home from my long run Hubby had been busy in the vegetable garden. I went for a cool down walk around the flower garden too.

Processed a million (four) pumpkins into purée for the freezer today, so for everyone buying seeds in the next few months:
cinnamon girl pumpkins are cute!! Love their long dark handles. They’re also gross. Zero sweetness, stringy as hell. Rip cinnamon girl. Yuck.
10/10 for the jarrahdale though, huge and delicious and dense. Also!!! I didn’t know this before but they turn pink in storage!! They go from green to blue to pink! They’re so cool, what a cool pumpkin.

First Seed Collection
I harvested & dried my very first seeds! 🥰
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never thought I'd be excited to see a flower die, but once I realized there were a bunch of seed pods on my Purple Foxglove, I was over the moon! I was able to collect & save quite a few, & there are still more seed pods left on the plant, so I'll be saving more over the next couple of days. I hope to use them for our friends, & build them a flower bed under the carport.
I also managed to save a lot of Red Coneflower seeds, but my plant is still blooming so there will be more to collect as the cycle continues. I already used all of the saved Red Coneflower seeds for part of the Sunflower fence & fountain area that I'm working on for our friends, so we'll find out if the germination rate is good.... Cause I totally forgot to save some seeds to the side.
I will post later how I saved my seeds, so that way if I need to improve my process in the future, I have somewhere to start, & maybe someone else can get some use out of it. 😉

I got everything in my garden cleaned up (due to much help) and look how pretty everything is!!!
And here is a bonus picture of my sunflowers which are so huge that I now have to support them with tree supports (left the ladder for scale):

I’m so excited for them to flower!! I hope they don’t break due to how heavy they get.

Absolutely the highlight of my day was finding this freshly emerged Achemon sphinx moth. There's about half an hour between the first two pics, you can see how much their wings plumped up!
They spent the day basking in the sun, and then disappeared later to hopefully live their best moth life.
The caterpillars eat Virginia creeper or wild grape leaves; I have both coming up wild in my pollinator friendly garden. Days like this really make me feel good about our disheveled, lovely garden, and I'm grateful for the chance to visit this moth all day. 😭

A Budding Herbalist's Dream: My Medicinal Garden Kit Review
Having always been curious about the natural world and its potential for well-being, I was thrilled to discover the Medicinal Garden Kit. This cleverly designed package has become my gateway to cultivating a haven of healing herbs right at home.
Tumblr media
Everything You Need to Get Growing
Unlike venturing into a garden centre feeling overwhelmed by endless options, the Medicinal Garden Kit provides everything a beginner like myself needs. The kit comes with a delightful selection of seeds – from calming chamomile to invigorating echinacea – each clearly labelled in individual packets. This eliminates any guesswork about what I'm planting and ensures I have a diverse range of medicinal plants to explore.
A Gentle Guide for Green Thumbs (or Not-So-Green Thumbs!)
What truly sets the Medicinal Garden Kit apart is the comprehensive instruction manual. Written in a clear and friendly tone, it provides detailed information on each herb, including its medicinal uses and specific planting needs. The manual also offers step-by-step instructions on seed sowing, plant care, and harvesting – perfect for those, like me, who are new to the world of gardening. The handy plant markers included in the kit are another thoughtful touch, allowing me to keep track of my burgeoning herb collection with ease.
From Seed to Steep: Witnessing the Magic of Nature
The sense of satisfaction that comes with witnessing the tiny seeds transform into thriving little plants is truly unmatched. Following the kit's easy-to-follow instructions, I was amazed at how quickly my herbs began to sprout. The manual's guidance on watering, sunlight requirements, and common issues has been invaluable, and within weeks, I had a flourishing little medicinal garden on my windowsill.
A Fresh Cup of Homegrown Harmony
The most rewarding aspect of using the Medicinal Garden Kit has been the ability to enjoy the fruits (or rather, leaves!) of my labour. Being able to snip fresh chamomile for a soothing cup of tea after a long day, or harvest invigorating peppermint for a homemade digestive aid, fills me with a sense of accomplishment and a newfound connection to the natural world. The kit has not only allowed me to explore the potential of herbal remedies, but it has also become a source of pride and a conversation starter whenever guests visit.
A Gift that Keeps on Giving
The Medicinal Garden Kit is more than just a collection of seeds and instructions; it's an empowering tool for anyone interested in taking charge of their well-being and cultivating a connection with nature. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a curious beginner like myself, this kit provides all the resources you need to embark on your own herbal adventure. I highly recommend the Medicinal Garden Kit to anyone looking to add a touch of nature's wisdom to their lives.
