People earnestly say that if someone else can enjoy a game and not have to have perfect parrying or who plays on a lower difficulty, it will reduce the amount they can enjoy the game.
The single-player game.
The single-player game with no global leaderboard or multiplayer option.
But they state that a theoretical person somewhere in the world enjoying the game is enough to all but ruin the game for them if they don't know about it or see the person, just the thought of someone playing differently is enough to ruin the experience for them.
Because it's only recently video games had different difficulties and they never, ever included cheat codes so you could do things like give yourself god mode and play for the story/experience. /s
i will never understand the insane takes against having games be more accessible
#from games really brought this out in people with regard to difficulty#it 'has to be hard with no options to change it' because 'it's the developer's vision'#maybe that 'vision' is ableist and also a terrible decision when it comes to selling a product people literally can't play#and then the people who attacked naughtydog because of tlou2's accessibility features because they 'ruined the experience'#never mind you never had to use them#and if you were tempted to use them because they made things easier then you're not 'hard core' and may have impairments yourself#see this about subtitles all the time too#but people are weirdly silent about games prompting you to adjust gamma settings#because 'all monitors are different'#even though it's common to turn them up so you can actually see what's going on#what i hate about this 'debate' is no one is saying they need to play a game a certain way#just that accessibility options are good because not everyone can or wants to play a game in the same way#and this doesn't even touch on the problem of 'gamer rage' and people turning the difficulty up#(because *harder* difficulties is fine but not easier ones)#to the point they no longer enjoy the game but they think that's normal and what gamers are supposed to feel

Nightsphere by Heretoir
Heretoir is a 5-piece band from Augsburg, Germany, and their sound oscillates between blackgaze and post-black metal. And, although since the year of their formation (2006) they have made plenty of releases, Nightsphere is their 3rd full-length record. The record is essentially made by three parts, with acoustic interludes between them and the tone is set pretty much as soon as we hit play. The…

Get ready kids, because I’m about to tell you all about gamma gardening!
Basically, after WWII, some people were interested in using fission energy for good. One of the uses they came up with was to create useful genetic mutations in plants.
But unlike today’s careful gene editing, gamma gardens took the “just blast them with radiation and pray that the RNG gods give you something good approach.
According to Wikipedia, the methodology was as follows:
Gamma gardens were typically five acres in size, and were arranged in a circular pattern with a retractable radiation source in the middle. Plants were usually laid out like slices of a pie, stemming from the central radiation source; this pattern produced a range of radiation doses over the radius from the center. Radioactive bombardment would take place for around twenty hours, after which scientists wearing protective equipment would enter the garden and assess the results. The plants nearest the center usually died, while the ones further out often featured "tumors and other growth abnormalities". Beyond these were the plants of interest, with a higher than usual range of mutations, though not to the damaging extent of those closer to the radiation source. These gamma gardens have continued to operate on largely the same designs as those conceived in the 1950s.
They’ve decreased greatly in popularity as the reputation of radiation has gone down the toilet, but one notable product of gamma gardens is the ‘Ruby Red’ grapefruit!
^ this is a proper Fallout-style mutant

can i request a fem reader who has a terrible moodswing during her period? i couldn't help but imagine dottore getting yelled at by reader because of her mood hehe, also, how will dottore handle the situation?
-🧊
Code Red.
Every segment knows of this. An event that happens every month and usually lasts for a week. Yes, their darling's monthly period pain.
Dottore is already aware of it. He was the one who made the code after all.
He would already have the medicine and painkillers that you may need to help suppress those cramps you have to endure. Ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin and the like. All prepared and organised in a certain shelf titled 'For Pain/Cramps' just in case needed.
Ah, ah, ah. You are not eating various sugary treats or those cravings you want. The only treat you can consume is dark chocolate. Dottore explained that said product has magnesium that can also help alleviate your pain. Doctor's orders after all.
Dottore usually wouldn't be bothered when others would scream at him. But hearing your voice curse and yell at him would make him flinch. He knows it's part of your mood swings and it's normal but sometimes he would be overthinking some of the words you would say until you had to force it outta him during your post-period state.
If Dottore is busy in his laboratory or on a mission while you're on your period, he would send some of his segments to take care of you.
Dottore made sure to write a list of things needed for you and to take note of your mood swings because each emotion or reaction you show has various meanings that the segment has to understand to be able to handle the situation.
The segments, mostly the younger ones during Dottore's pre-fatui era, would be panicking over you. They read the notes given to them, yes. But did they understand? Absolutely not. They haven't taken care of you like this before but they were the ones ordered by Dottore himself to take care of you since they were available.
The segments even suggested of immediately putting you in the operating room right when they saw the blood staining your sheets and coming from down there. They thought that one of your organs must have popped and could require medical treatment immediately.
Dottore had to step in and rescue you right after Omega informed him that you were about to have surgery just because of some measly blood. He couldn't blame his segments for being so idiotic, he once thought you had an internal bleeding that he didn't examined carefully when he first found out about your period.
After that incident, he decided to hold a small meeting between himself and his segments and informed them of your monthly pain. He made sure the segments don't even bother to think of trying anything else to fix you other than follow the instructions he laid out when your menstrual cycle arrives.
Dottore may have forgot to inform them about the mood swings.
Later on, he found his segments sulking in the corner of your room with a hurt look plastered across their faces.
"..never have I seen a woman become so scary..."
"I blame you for this, Gamma."
"I didn't do anything! I was only giving her the medicine! Besides, Epsilon was supposed to bake treats for her."
"She already ate them all!"
"Enough of your chatter and stand up. She's acting like that because of her mood swings. It's part of her monthly cycle. So stop whining and get to work."
Yes, Dottore wrote down every little thing needed to do whenever you had your period but he left out a certain thing. Affections.
Any simple act of physical affection that he would initiate is already enough to keep you stable. From cuddles to forehead and cheek kisses all the way to whispering sweet words into your ear is enough to stop your mood swings from going haywire.
He wouldn't let his other segments know about it, just because they're him from different time periods doesn't mean he would let them give you affections. How ironic of him to be jealous of himself.
Nonetheless, when it comes to you, you are his and his alone.

Reformation - 8
Just in case you thought I had put this aside...
Prowl covered his mouth with his servo, lest someone hear his wantonness. Jazz had him on his back, splayed across his desk, and the Omega’s knee pinned to his own shoulder. The Alpha’s spike was buried in his valve. It felt different out of heat. Lust was clearier without the fog of his breeding-cycle. He could felt every ridge of Jazz’s spike as they dragged across his valve’s interior nodes and biolights. To Prowl it felt like they lined up perfectly with this Alpha’s spike. Was that something that happened in heat? Overload coiled in his belly and his spark at the same time and exploded, not for the first time in this rendezvous. The protospark had completed the split the orn before and now the priority was ensuring they had the energy to stabilize their orbits. Jazz had taken responsibility for this and he took it seriously.
“Mm!” Prowl muffled his cry as his back bowed as his spark surged with overload.
Jazz made it good, so good. He used toys to drive Prowl crazy before he brought his spike to pressure, and lots of synthetic lube. One was still locked behind Prowl’s hatch, buzzing away in his aft. Prowl’s optics rolled back in his helm as the Alpha ground his knot, still inflating, against his gamma cluster. Lubricant, all Prowl’s own now, sprayed out around Jazz’s spike just as he pushed in a final time and his knot locked them together. Still, Jazz rolled his hips, fragging Prowl with his knot and grinding it against Prowl’s gamma cluster. Prowl’s valve rippled over it, over and over until Prowl whited out. He came to still trapped on Jazz’s knot but he was sitting in his lap, draped against his chassis. The toy in his aft was still softly buzzing. Prowl’s jaw was slack. He had been drooling, he realized, fragged out of his processor but this singularly cocky and considerate Alpha.
“Bet ya don’t might taken a break so much now, hmm?” Jazz teased him. Prowl never took breaks but Jazz had suggested making use of the timeslot in Prowl’s schedule.
“Mm,” Prowl hummed. “I think it is hard for me to think of working when you have fragged me stupid.”
“Nothin’ stupid ‘bout ya, Sweetspark,” Jazz told him.
There was no pushback from the Alpha tacticians working under Prowl. If they heard Jazz bending him over his desk and railing him within a micrometre of his life, they did not show it. Prowl did not know if he had just managed to enforce the chain in command before ever entering that productive heat or if Jazz and paid them a visit and given them a detailed warning of what their insolence would result in. At the moment, everything was going smoothly. He had thought Optimus might take him off duty but the Prime supported Prowl continuing as he always had since he had enlisted. Ironhide cancelled their regular training sessions and told Prowl he was on-call if any tactician needed supplementary discipline. Between Ironhide and Jazz, Prowl thought his team would not dare fall out of line. There were few Alphas in tactics anyway, the team was mostly Betas. Like their Alpha colleagues, the Betas remained held to the same standard as any soldier, any Alpha, respect your chain of command and your colleagues, that was it. All the same, they would be Prowl’s first line of defence against hormonal Alphas, as was the nature of their society.
“Jazz!” Prowl gasped.
It was late in his duty-shift, technically this would have been classed as overtime but Jazz had negotiated if Prowl wanted to take their brainstorming session late, they needed a break. That break involved Prowl skewered on Jazz’s spike, armour eskew as Jazz played with his well and rubbed his note. He writhed on Jazz’s knot, overwhelmed with pleasure. In between overloads, Jazz coached them through the mission brief again. Strange that the overloads seemed to reset his battle computer and he saw the mission through additional perspectives every time. They worked late as Jazz lingered on helping Prowl reset but not as late as Prowl might have pushed alone. The end mission plan Jazz would hand off to Mirage and Hound was one Prowl was uniquely pleased with. Did getting fragged make him a better strategist? That was a strange thought.
***
It was a relief to Jazz how Prowl settled into his new reality. He had been worried Prowl would enter a deep depression when his carrying was confirmed but he had absorbed the knowledge and had immediately decided he would do everything right by it. Leave it to Prowl to just naturally want to be the best. To Jazz, he was the best Omega, strong-willed and effortlessly sensual. For his part he would be whatever Alpha Prowl needed to be his best. Overload steadied Prowl and de-stressed him. Jazz was pleased to assist on that front, certainly, he benefitted himself on that front. They had settled into a comfortable routine in just a matter of mega-cycles. Jazz made sure he fuelled and overloaded well and Prowl settled back into his regular life. It seemed unlikely to Jazz that Prowl would want to take too long a leave with these bitties once they emerged and he could picture Prowl’s nursing them while taking regular breaks. He could picture him round still/again. Jazz shook his helm; he was still an Alpha and some aspects of his code were coming up stronger now. Having found an Omega to carry his bitties, his code looked to the future and many more bitties carried by this mech.
“Ori!” Jazz exclaimed when he opened the door to Punch.
“Bitlet,” Punch greeted him with a firm hug. “How are you, Love?”
“Good,” Jazz said. “Prowl’s just cleanin’ up.”
“‘M sorry I couldn’t get here sooner,” Punch replied.
“Me too,” Jazz said. “But it’s alright. Ya caught us good intel. Prowl’s already puttin’ it to use.”
Prowl was radiant. He came out of the washracks, glowing. It was in his field, even if he himself did not recognize it. Four quartexes into his ten quartex carrying of twins, Prowl had a large bitty bump. His faceplates had rounded a little, softening his already softer features. Jazz did not know exactly what he had looked like as an Alpha but Jazz imagined he had been handsome. Certainly, he was gorgeous as an Omega. Round with Jazz’s progeny, so far as the Alpha was concerned, he was the prettiest of Omegas. The prettiest of mechs. Punch smiled at Prowl and Jazz thought his originator was beaming at the sight of the Omega his creation had ensparked.
“Well, Lovely ‘m Punch,” Ori greeted Prowl. “‘M pleased to see my creation’s doin’ right by ya.”
“Jazz has been very good to me,” Prowl replied. “Your ruby tea has been a blessing. I have had none of the light-cycle sickness when I have been drinking it.”
“That’s good!” Punch smiled.
He had gifts for Prowl, and that was no surprise. A blanket to snuggle into when he found himself a little cold. More crystals for teas, things that would help with lactation since the Twins would take a lot from him. Oils to help itchy plating and his bump grew and more and more. Jazz knew his originator would want to fuss and after four quartexes of settling into his carrying, Prowl was in the helm space to appreciate it. He had not spoken about his own family. Given what he had said of his progenitor, Jazz did not imagine he had been supportive of Prowl when Prowl had returned bitched. Unless it was to tear the mech’s helm off, Jazz did not want him around Prowl or their bitlets. They did not know if the Twins would be Alpha, Beta, Omega or some combination. No one who would think less of one than another did not need to exist in their sphere. As Prowl showed Punch their newest ultrasound photos, Jazz got an urgent comm.
“Go for Jazz?”
“Jazz, there’s a Praxian at the gate insisting on seeing Prowl,” Trailbreaker explained.
“Alpha?” Jazz snarled, immediately thinking of Prowl’s progenitor.
“Beta,” Trailbreaker replied. “Enforcer. Says he’s a cousin. Won’t say what he’s here for. Says it’s none of our business. He did tell the Alphas on guard duty how he would take them down… point by point… I can sort of see the family resemblance.”
“I’ll swing by,” Jazz said. “Cousin… what could he be here for?”

So we can see in the above images the methods Showfall Media is using to control gl!Sneeg gl!Charlie and gl!Ranboo, they use an already pre-existing technology called an Electroencephalogram (EEG). Now this technology has been in use for decades, and essentially how it works is that it uses electrodes placed onto your scalp combined with a conductive gel to measure the electrical activity in your brain, these electrical signals are usually referred to as “brain waves” and these brainwaves can be subdivided into four categories, Gamma (greater than 30 Hz), Beta (13-30 Hz), Alpha (8-12 Hz), Theta (3.5-7.5 Hz), and Delta (0.1-3.5 Hz)
These different brainwaves are generally assosiated with different emotions, awareness levels, brain activities, etc. Now if Showfall Media has installed these onto sneeg, charlie, and ranboo, that means they have access to their thoughts and feelings, but brainscanning isn’t an absolute precise device, it still takes a lot of human effort and time to properly interpret the brainwaves. If Showfall somehow had a tool to easily interpret the signals they could much more easily operate, say, a live show. Lucky for them there is already a real life solution to this problem, kinda.
Its called Brain Generative Pre-Training Transformer, or BrainGPT for short. What its goal is, is to act as an assist tool for human neurologists to use in real neuroscience cases and case studies, what it does is it uses a Large Language Model (LLM) full of pre-existing human research papers and other neuroscience knowledge too vast for human comprehension. And whenever a neurologist hands BrainGPT a prompt, (such as anomalous finding or to asses the fields understanding of a certain topic) , “would generate likely data patterns reflecting its current synthesis of the scientific literature” (braingpt.org)
Now in regards to Generation Loss, what this means is that Showfall Media potentially has acces to this sort of technology, and would be able to use it in the production of their shows, now BrainGPT has a good way to go before its widely avalable. But in the genloss au, it can be far into development at this point, and be available for companies to use in whatever way they see fit.
Now reading and decoding brain signals is one thing, but to mind control someone is far beyond what is capable today, but Showfall Media has somehow developed technology to do so, the way I’m guessing they did it is that they produced certain brainwaves from the electrodes on the actors heads to give them the emotional reactions they needed for the show. I can’t exactly get into the technical stuff cause I’m not a neurologist, but its just a hunch on how I think they did it.
As for the mind controlling devices themselves, I feel there’s a more subtextual reason as to why those objects in particular are chosen as the devices that are central to the show’s operation. Ranboo’s mask has been a heavy emphasis throughout Gen 1 TSE,
Its been a central figure in not only generation loss’ marketing, but also ranboo’s marketing, because when you think of ranboo one of the first things that pops up is the mask, atleast in the wider public’s eye.
But these general associations not only exist with Ranboo, with Slimcicle you usually think of the wide brim glasses, with Sneeg its his backwards cap, and this is with the other cast members too when their introduced on the spinning carousel in episode 2. Furthermore, with Niki it’s that’s she's just so nice, with Austin its that he’s just a gay guy, and with Vinny and Ethan these associations don’t really exist. So, with Vinny he's just the “hoarder”, and Ethan isn't even introduced. And then there's Jerma, who is relinquished to a goofy character with a weird voice and a strange sense of humour which sort of fits his public image.
But what I wanna mention with Ranboo’s mask specifically is that with the three images shown on the genloss twitter of the control devices, sneeg’s is just a hat, like theres nothing special about it, just a hat with electrodes on it, when you take it off he’s completely in control of himself. But, with charlie’s it’s a good bit harder to just take it off. His glasses are drilled into his skull connected to electrodes which are also implanted in his skull, with an additional feature of a speaker in his jaw. But if you remove the glasses, there would be a lot of bleeding and his vision would be impaired, but he would still be a free man.
But with Ranboo, poor, poor, Ranboo… Like Charlie, they have electrodes implanted on to their brain connected to a switch on the back of their skull (which also may or may not also be connected to their spine, idk its hard to tell). These sprout wires that thread through the mask and lead into their throat, and the mask piece itself is sewn shut onto their SKIN.
Now this makes me wonder, why is Ranboo so heavily guarded when the other are (relatively) easy to set free? Is it because Ranboo is an integral part of the show and therefore high risk? Is it because Showfall needed extra resources for the chat to be able to control them?... Or is it because Ranboo tried to escape so many times before that they were forced to disfigure them to such an extreme degree, and yet somehow, SOMEHOW, they are able to resist, whether it be tapping SOS on their hand when they're on full control mode or shanking a Showfall employee with a dagger, Ranboo, Resists. But Showfall will never let them leave. Or they will? Idk founders cut hasn’t come out yet as of writing this, anyway ramble over. You can leave now.

60 years ago today, June 27, 1964, the final episode of The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show (known as Rocky & His Friends during the first two seasons and as The Bullwinkle Show for the last three seasons) aired.
It originally aired from November 19, 1959, to June 27, 1964, on the ABC and NBC television networks. Produced by Jay Ward Productions, the series is structured as a variety show, with the main feature being the serialized adventures of the two title characters, the anthropomorphic moose Bullwinkle and flying squirrel Rocky. The main adversaries in most of their adventures are the Russian-like spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale. Supporting segments include Dudley Do-Right (a parody of old-time melodrama), Peabody's Improbable History (a dog and his pet boy Sherman traveling through time), and Fractured Fairy Tales (classic fairy tales retold in comic fashion), among others.
Rocky & Bullwinkle is known for quality writing and wry humor. Mixing puns, cultural and topical satire, and self-referential humor, it appealed to adults as well as children. It was also one of the first cartoons whose animation was outsourced; storyboards were shipped to Gamma Productions, a Mexican studio also employed by Total Television. The art has a choppy, unpolished look and the animation is extremely limited even by television animation standards at the time. Yet the series has long been held in high esteem by those who have seen it; some critics described the series as a well-written radio program with pictures.
The show was shuffled around several times (airing in afternoon, prime time, and Saturday morning time slots), but was influential to other animated series from The Simpsons to Rocko's Modern Life. Segments from the series were later recycled in the Hoppity Hooper show.
There have been numerous feature film adaptations of the series' various segments, such as the 2000 film The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle which blended live-action and computer animation and the 1999 live-action film Dudley Do-Right, which both received poor reviews and were financially unsuccessful. By contrast, an animated feature film adaptation of the "Peabody's Improbable History" segment, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, was released to good reviews in 2014.
Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show were ranked the sixth Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time by TV Guide.
