If you’re the type of person to watch your teammates die on hook… I hope every single light is red, your pillow is always uncomfortably hot, and that your food is always too hot/too cold to eat.

When my friend was 17 almost 18 he decided that he had to stop playing Genshin Impact because of the reputation the adults fans have. Unfortunately he really liked the game and started to experience withdrawal. He was also really tempted to play the game again when a npc finally became playable. I had to snap him out of it.

"It's that dog!" –Leon, Resident Evil 4
Tumblr media
I love that dog. It helps me a lot in my playthroughs. It's too bad it doesn't reappear after helping out for that one boss fight. I wanted to pet it and give it treats. *^*
Instead of the dog, we got Ashley following us around... I mean, yeah, Leon speaks to her like a dog during gameplay, but it's not the same thing. And, she's more of a burden than a helper. :/ (I'm talking about the og Resident evil 4. I haven't played the remake yet, but I heard that she's a bit more useful and independent in it. Appearances alone, she looks more like a girlboss than a young princess who needs her prince to protect her. So, there's that.)
PS: I mixed the character designs with OG Resident Evil 4 and the remake. I really like the cleft chin rep I'm getting with new Leon. ;v; The fact he just happens to have a cleft chin now is what I like. It's random, but I like it.
Yeah... I am really self-conscious about my cleft chin. I hated it, but now that one of my fav characters has one, uuuh, I guess I'll reconsider. (I just personally received the power of inclusivity and positive depiction in media, waw! :O )

after 23 years of trying off and on I finally beat Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future albeit using a million savestates to pull through.... vibey atmospheric game but why does Appaloosa Interactive want to torture gamers so much? still trying to process the extremely dark areas, cryptic guide crystals and knowing wtf to do without any sort of gamefaqs opened. now that it’s all over with I got plenty of savepoint areas I’ll do some NoPlay recordings (extended VGM + scene ambiance) to set oneself at ease 🐬

Gaming Rant
-another reason video games are a benefit to the world; go deeper than just the surface and see what you find…-
My rant on my current escape to the world of video games ❤️
As most of the world is playing the new Dragon Age, I am reliving - again - my favorite of all time, Dragon Age Origins ^.^
I thought I’d take a short break to babble, for any other gamers who may relate or… just to give me a topic to write on, as I have promised myself I’ll be writing at least one piece daily, here I go!
A lot of people seem to think gaming is a waste of time; I personally use it as an escape from the pain of reality and of the work I do.
But that shall be a piece I write another time.
I am currently on the pause screen, about to go back and fight my way through the circle of magi… I don’t have any idea how many people here are gamers or if anyone is reading this, but, if you know the part of the story I am in, you know that upcoming is, for me and apparently many others, the lovely “maze/puzzle” as a demon gets into you and your party members minds, separating you.
The goal: get out of your head by successfully defeating the enemies that come your way. At some point in each you gain a skill, for example, one skill is to become a mouse thus making you small enough to move around via the dreaded mouse holes and get to places otherwise off limits.
Another is the ability to become a person of flame, for lack of better name, thereby allowing you to walk through the fire as fire, death no longer an option so long as you don’t change forms mid way through, but…that probably goes without saying. 🫢
There are two more, but you get the idea. Probably the only positive I find in this crazy maze / puzzle from hell are the perma buffs you find randomly about as you explore trying to find your way traversing through the only part of my favorite game that I would describe bet as hellish.
I suppose I can call this part positive now, for me at least - and if you are still reading I thank you- for this part is about to be upon me and I drreaaaad it 😒 I am not sure why entirely. and though I never have cheated my way thru but I came close at one point a few years ago.
I had beaten the game numerous times over the years, not once cheating, though, that night I decided to look it up. Perhaps it’d be okay to find a way to cheat past (let me proudly and painfully say I did not, and won’t be this time either, cheat! I take pride in that. But, I have been tempted in the past.)
It felt like a waste of time, reliving the misery of this part of the game; and much to my delight (and somehow, surprise,) I found not only am I not alone in my hatred for this place, there is even someone who hated it so much they made a mod so which allows you to skip the “puzzle/maze” and obtain the buffs without any of the effort. Apparently, the game acts as though you never skipped a beat.
I’m not big on mods though and I am a sucker for punishment so I dropped the idea, and did the dreadful maze. There is no feeling of success or gratitude by skipping over, no matter how many times it’s been beaten the hard way.
That applies to all aspects of life, I suppose. Anything worth any good rarely comes easy, rarely comes without setbacks or frustrations, rarely comes without dread or effort. in life I have found nothing yet I can say I am proud to have done or gone after that ended in with a sense accomplishment that didn’t require the above. It does create balance in life, I suppose.
It also builds character, speaking for video games and especially for life… if we do not walk towards a struggle and face it head on we definitely do not have the upper hand. And there is something to be learned from every situation, no matter how many times faced.
If we chose to always go the easy route we may as well just bury our heads or look away, missing out on the opportunity to help others, to learn something or to help educate. To grow be it as a character in a game, or more importantly as a human and as a spiritual being.
Ascension cannot come from running from our problems, nor can growth. Life and pain come together whether we want it or not. Looking at it from this perspective, perhaps I can start seeing even the hardest things as positive in the light that no matter how bad it is, at least I am growing.
I’d rather fail than look back at life, whatever the task I am facing, and say “I tried” than not be able to say anything other than I was too scared or whatever other excuses I could come up with, and I’m sure I have plenty.
I refuse to let fear or discomfort stop me from experiencing and living the life I want; be it in another world or in the “real” world.
If you managed to make it this far, I applaud you. Thank you…

[Image Description: A screenshot from Fate/Grand Order, showing the Spirit Origin List of 16 selected Servants. All have had Holy Grails used on them. From left to right per row -
1st row - Saber Arturia Pendragon, Archer Robin Hood, Rider Achilles, Lancer Ereshkigal, Caster Scathach-Skadi, and Assassin Ryougi Shiki.
2nd row - Berserker Miyamoto Musashi, Ruler Sherlock Holmes, Avenger Space Ishtar/Astarte, Alter Ego Meltryllis, Moon Cancer Arcueid Brunestud, and Foreigner Katsushika Hokusai.
3rd row - Pretender Hephaestion, Shielder Mash Kyrielight, Assassin Charles-Henri Sanson, and Assassin Mata Hari.
End image description.]
…This was a goal/dream about… 5-6 years in the making, when looking back. “I’d like to have one Grailed Servant per every Servant class.” And with the advent of FGO NA’s 7th Anniversary, I got it (well, with the exception of the Beast class anyway).
Guess that means I have a lot more to write for. Because with newer favorites being added onto the Grailed Servant roster (Mata Hari and Sanson are just the start), there’s a lot of ideas I can work with. :)

Had a random thought about the news that Alan Wake 2 would be split between 2 characters. People being mad about it kind of baffles me. Like, from what I remember of American Nightmare (and its been a while since I played it) Alan's basically stuck in a shadowrealm, still trying to write his way out. We got an ending in AN, sure, but Alan's still gotta write his way to it. It makes sense there'd be a new character in the real-world to be a literary bridge for him to get back over.
or am I nuts for seeing it this way?

Welp, the only reason I played RE4 in the first place was because of my father's Resident Evil 6 special edition copy he bought some years ago that contained Resident Evil 1 to 6. Which means... I have Resident Evil 1 to 6, and the only one I played is 4. So, I decided to try the others. Since I'm no little baby anymore, I think I'll be able to handle it.
So, I tried Resident Evil: Director's cut and... Omg, I have so many things to say... Aaaaah! Why is it so cheesy!? Why are the controls like this!? What is this magnificient opening cutscene!? This game is rated M, but the character talks as if they were in a kid show. I love them. ♡♡
Especially Chris, he's a different kind of bad. I played a lot of games with "bad" voice acting, but Chris' voice caught me off guard nonetheless. I don't know if it's because I was tired, but I kept laughing (in a good way, of course).
Tumblr media
His voice really makes me nostalgic. So I doodled what I was thinking about when I was listening to it. >v<
But, I became a bit sad when I read (on the resident evil wiki) that his VA died an unnatural death. He died in an accident in Japan (maybe as he was invited at an event by Capcom? I'm just theorizing here).
Rest in peace, Scott McCulloch. You are not forgotten.
