I feel like I've complained about Tim's email situation in Gotham Knights before (edit: I have), but the truth of it is just so funny.

He's signed up for so many podcasts, video game streamers, and random news alerts; it's just a constant barrage of data going straight into his constantly whirring brain. Hell, he even floats the idea of the Batfamily having their own podcast as a way to correct misinformation about them (which Jason shoots down instantly), and it's made me realize something.

Timothy Drake would be a YouTuber.

In this universe specifically, Timothy Jackson Drake, the heir to Drake Industries and the foster son of the late Bruce Wayne would be a YouTuber.

Think about it. It'd be the perfect cover. Who would ever suspect that some 16-year-old nepo baby with a YouTube channel could ever be Red Robin? You'd have to be mad. I mean, look at him.

Red Robin just dropped out of literal thin air and garotted someone four times his size, and you expect anyone to believe that's the same kid who does 24-hour Minecraft charity streams and occasionally drops 6-hour video essays (his last one was on Lex Luthor's illegal bit mining operation on the moon)?

That kid?

You think that kid is Red Robin?

Ch'yah, okay, sure. And the Joker is funny 🤡.

#gotham knights game #I'm now incorporating this into all my Tim headcanons across the multiverse #twice a week as part of maintaining his Normal Teenager Identity #he streams random shit on YouTube/Twitch #he's got the full gamer set up in the background #LED lights around the ceiling and walls #rainbow keyboard/headset #mini fridge filled with Monster Energy Drinks #(other streamers have 'take a shot' prompts in chat. his audience has 'drink water before you die')#whenever he hosts a charity stream Bruce makes an appearance in chat via the official Wayne Enterprises account #and promises to match whatever they raise #and then hangs about for a bit to cheer Tim on #he's the epitome of 'are ya winning son?' meme #meanwhile off screen #Tim's keeping an eye on a seperate monitor #and helping Babs run remote ops #if his stream suddenly dies (which is does fairly often) he blames it on the Manor having shitty wifi #and that tracks #it's an old house #it's probably FILLED with lead and dead signal spots #in reality Tim killed the stream because Red Robin is needed #and no one will ever know

I know this scene has been giffed a million times already and my graphics are set on low, but I do not care. I've made it for myself, so I can stare at it for 3 hours each day as therapy.

Bonus versions, extra slow, because I love all the... dialogue options.

I do have a soft spot for the "we both know you couldn't get rid of me that easily (haha, it's fine, I'm not traumatized, don't worry about it)," in particular, with how Lucanis so beautifully follows up on it. It's what I chose for the first time and his "It's what I love about you," absolutely obliterated me. Still does.

#ffxiv #sketch #zenos yae galvus #adventurer zenos #oc #tsukiko date #camilla lunae #as per the rules of fighting games- blocking is all well and good until something finally decides to grab you instead #or- how durante's challenge to zenos backfires horribly #independent- face-tanker zenos learns the meaning of waiting for his party LOL #I also want to make another garlean armor set for zenos- so its time for me to be toying with a couple of different designs #I just know I want it to be the opposite of his original 'demon' armor #with the new one more focused on movement and the intake/focus of aether- an angel theme and im thinking of #giving the armor the color palatte of Kain's sanctified armor because... hehehe-#so the one here is basically the first draft of that LOL #...I will fully acknowledge that I treat the man like a dress up doll- he's very fun to design outfits for #zenos' iron stomach does not appreciate meeting its match in the form of taking on a morbol's power head on #dont mind this also just being inspired by the 1.0 trailer- I will always find it so funny that poor meteor's first bit of action we see #is against one of these damned things #so I had to make it so zenos unintentionally follows his long forgotten footsteps

Final Fantasy VIII has a lot of influence on RWBY but the first most notable example was also foreshadowing

quite famously in the Yellow trailer, the picture Yang shows Junior of the person she's looking for is a piece that Monty had made years before titled Transient Princess, which had initially started as something with Rinoa Heartilly, a major character in VIII's story

Rinoa, during the events of FFVIII, becomes a Sorceress - the only real magic users in the setting, all Sorceresses are women and their power transfers to someone else when they die. Rinoa has a white feather motif and manifests wings when using her Sorceress power

we later learn that Yang was actually looking for her mother, Raven Branwen (whose last name means 'white or blessed raven'), who has a lot of feathers in her design

and then in volume 5 we learn that she's a Maiden, one of the only real magic users in the setting, all 4 Maidens are women and their powers transfer to someone else when they die

meaning it was right fucking in front of us before the show even started

#RWBY #there are so many big and small things in the show that track with VIII #like Yang and Ruby's dynamic and parental situation is a mix of elements from Squall and his adopted older sister Ellone #Yang and Blake's relationship is a mix-and-match of elements of Squall and Rinoa's (including ballroom dancing)#hell Yang's Beacon design seems to be based on a cosplay Monty made in 2010 of a genderbent Squall #the whole structure of the show - with the first act set at Beacon - is reminiscent of how VIII's story starts contained to Balamb Garden #before expanding out into the world #hell - Para-Magic and Dust are very similar #being ways for everyone to use magic but having to use resources to do instead of being able to use it naturally #oh and of course VIII is the game that introduced the gunblade and RWBY takes that to its logical conclusion #by making almost every melee weapon 'also a gun'

forever hilarious to me that tennis is promoted as this prestigious highbrow big-brain sport when most tennis fans these days are like. yeah this is my favorite player. yeah i don't know why they're like that. yes they are stupid. no i will not choose somebody else.

#wta tennis #atp tennis #i feel like the era of...shall we say 'federer-esque' players is waning #which i think can in part be related to the loss of the one-handed-backhand #as the sport moves more toward a necessity for fitness and athleticism players do not put as much emphasis on 'art'#which imo is fine! i think the 'art' of tennis is too protected in some ways. which i maybe will expand on later.#but i think it's too much for the tags of a (mostly) silly post #but yeah you can hear a lot of commentators touch on it #i know nadal even said something abt it recently(ish)#but i think as tennis is gradually less associated with this abstract 'image' (e.g. the obsession with federer's 'grace' and 'class')#players are coming in thinking 'this is a physical battle and i am going to win' and very much leaning into the *competition*#which not to say that they're ignoring/denying the mental aspects at all because i actually do think many players are very strategic/aware #and in truth i think many tennis players ARE actually very smart #but i also think it's less apparent because more and more players are able to just hit the shit out of the ball and call it a day #which leaves you with the occasional shot/point/game/set/match etc where it seems like they don't know what the fuck they're doing #but you think about most sports which evolve in phases #it's very normal for certain player profiles to become more or less popular as the landscape of the sport changes #or as new techniques/strategies are developed #or as new communities/populations become interested!#extreme example but think of like. high jump's fosbury flop. that was one guy!#one guy who changed the entire fucking sport! so it makes perfect sense that tennis is continuing to evolve #given how many unique players have come and gone #and how much the sport is changing externally as well as internally #anyways. this got out of hand but i love sports and i love tennis and i love my brainless players.#this whole post was inspired by rewatching sabalenka v boulter and aryna completely missed an overhead by like five feet. lol #love her <3

Tangentially related to some of the discussion i posted earlier but quiet literally the first RW Art Month i participated I did it completely on whim like, one day before it started. And I mostly did it because I hadn't drawn a ton of rain world and wanted to draw more. Fandom presence was a lot smaller than and I was one of a handful of artists who did the entire thing. Fast forward and I still do Art Month and I've gotten to work with VC directly. But it was quite literally something I decided to do completely on whim that set the ball rolling, and for something a lil more niche and certainly with a lot more dev/fandom art involvement than most. It's really random how and why you might get noticed more than usual, especially with the "toss it into the search and hope it pays out' mechanism of Socmed

#t.extpost #and im hardly the fanciest art month artist out there so it wasnt even about being a jaw droppingly talented artist or whatever #and while artmonth for rw is still given a huge focus its also a much much bigger thing now with a much bigger number of participants #which is cool! its awesome how many people i saw do most if not all of last art month! and VC is really good about not just repping the #most popular artists or fanciest pieces #but theres So Much More there now and while its great for finding artists its also impossible to get Everyone in there you know?#Although they absolutely try #And this is like. one of the most fanartist involved devs ive ever seen in terms of both celebrating the art their fans make and actively #bringing those fans in to contribute #and its /still/ hard to get going just because thats how Posting is #i used to be more of a hk artist which is both a huge fandom and riddled with stunning artists but theres So Many #and niche fandoms are niche so youre more likely to connect with people but less likely to see a ton of engagement regularly -#probably best example i have for that was being briefly fixated on patapon.#Its just messy to try and find the hack that sets you up #just have fun and jump around and make what you like #get a sense of feeling for your style and some people will stick around for that vs. strictly the subject matter #others will look up the thing you switched too and some wont engage #you cant really control it #so have fun and draw that thing you randomly thought about at 2 am that doesnt match your blog #draw for that forgotten rpg you liked when you were 15 or draw for the 70 player max steam game you played for this week #you never really know what will happen #but its not really worth worrying about what will happen either

#summoner oc #moe used to have an opalite necklace as part of its design! to match mine i wear irl #but the thing about drawing a chara over and over again is eventually you break them down to their bare essentials.#moe's outfit is already so complex even just that one element causes the design to feel Too Messy #esp in where your eyes are supposed to be drawn. esp in how the necklace would dangle and swing around #the golden chain/halo is way more focal to moe's entire design philosophy and is a subtle thing that draws the eyes #but doesn't get in the way! even when wearing the robe/ESP w the bowtie!! which is tied loosely #like!!! i think i've done a good job at spacing it out and also making the chain non-intrusive #RAMBLING THOUGH. i did reuse the opalite esq design for its staff which reads like an orb #and may be one??? straight up??? either way i had opalites in mind when designing it #bc of the significance to me (epic stim object i've cherished for years) and the resemblance to orbs in game!#moe's design feels p set (save for like special occasions i guess LMFAO) so it would be cool!!!#to see if anyone else can make use of this!!!

time princess players how do y'all picture the MCs of every story

like since every set and piece of official art has a different hair colour, length, and style with every picture of them, and sometimes there's descriptions that don't match the images, which one do you go with

and do you make half of them look like your avatar or have your own designs

#dutp #time princess #when playing/viewing it through the ''story traveler'' lens #i often justify the hair colour changes in-universe by headcanoning that it's story kingdom magic that allows you to change your hair colou #by default i make half the mcs look like (taller versions of) me/my avatar (who's designed after me but with purple eyes) to some extent #but there are exceptions #like if the mc isn't white i'm obviously not gonna base her design off myself #except Maybe giving her my/my avatar's hair length #and if a spinoff shows the mc i'll often use that design #i always pictured zoya blonde until the salvia spinoff story came out and showed her with the light brown hair from that one set #it also described zoya as having black eyes which i went with #i didn't have a locked in eye colour headcanon for her before but i didn't really picture her with eyes that dark #probably because none of the album art gave her black eyes #though eye colours tend to be inconsistent in this game #nastia's described with gray eyes but that one album art gives her blue eyes #and on the flipside charlotte's described with blue eyes in one side story but her model doesn't have blue eyes #nor does at least one album art of her #i give virtually every mc long hair just because most of the hairstyles in those sets require it #i always picture cordelia with dark hair and ocean green-blue eyes #like a vivid teal colour. just fits someone whose name means ''daughter of the sea''#and sometimes i have her stop shaving her legs when she becomes a pirate because a) she lives on a boat #and b) representation of her leaving behind that gilded-cage life of fancy etiquette and ''you must become a perfect wife and mother''#in which she did everything society demanded of her at the expense of her own happiness #like yeah after escaping that i Will make cordelia stop shaving her legs. for the symbolism. and the fact that she lives on a pirate boat.#i always give aurora that pastel-almost-white shiny gradient dyed hair #because a) it's in half the sets b) it looks so so so cool c) it looks great next to the companions i ship her with #matches with novi and gives her a light-dark duality with selene's dark purple hair #idk her natural hair colour but i also give her the creepily pale eyes from Silent Night Rebirth #to match the pastel clothes she's so often in. this is not her natural eye colour either. hey that's p clearly a common thing in this city #i strongly doubt that selene's eyes are naturally that bright blueish purple

In a life swap AU rather than just a role swap I think it would be sooo fucked up if Patroclus swapped with Theseus and Achilles with Asterius

#Loving a monstrous hero Slaying a beautiful monster etc etc .#The fact that Theseus felt such an innate connection to Asterius because of his physical entrapment and how that translates to the trappings #of his role . Not to mention how the greater public would handle a hero who looks like . well Asterius .#And then on Patroclus’s side of things I’d say his relationship to Achilles was actually really slow burn with him probably not getting it #at first . But from what I’ve heard he’s also softer than most other soldiers when it comes to murder . So I think while he wouldn’t have #the immediate ‘/oh/‘ moment Theseus is implied to have had I think he’d spent endless nights trapped in that labyrinth reliving that moment #and just . *thinking* about it . much like he did in game with his monologues about them .#I’m not sure about where that would leave us post game . Because Patroclus and Achilles probably die more or less the same way Asterius and #Theseus did . (Though I think Patroclus less . dramatically ? I think he’d grow despondent and a metaphorical ghost from his past would #finish him off . Since I imagine HADESGAME Theseus having a similarly anticlimactic and unglamorous death .) But sulking and then dying in #a rage just *so* isn’t Asterius . Maybe if Theseus and Achilles got swapped but I feel like thematically that’s just less interesting to me #? Trading one pretty insecure blonde boy for another . Maybe actually if Asterius was disrespected in a different way like something #relating to his monsterhood - I mean I’m sure he’s used to it but most people and certainly superiors would know better than to comment on #it when he’s literally in the midst of being the best soldier on the battlefield . And Theseus would be more morally righteous about their #reasoning for being in the war so while he’d stand up for Asterius he also couldn’t abide by what he found to be an amoral action .#There’s no way anyone would mistake him for Asterius though obviously so - oh my god wait JUST NOW realizing Achilles and Pat aren’t just #matching THEYRE WEARING THE *EXACT* SAME SET OF CLOTHING OKAY OKAY . So the whole armor thing isn’t gonna be a plot point . But the main #stuff would still be more or less the same . After Theseus dies I can imagine Asterius doing something stupid . Especially if he was already #like . pretty fucked in the head .#Okay I’m actually lowkey attached to this AU now .#post game plays out basically like a role swap AU I’d imagine . (Let Patchilles be together in the arena they deserve it <33)#Patroclus would be pathetic in a different way but he’d still make a decent heel because of his in game wittiness and original disdain #translating decently to the role . He would just be so so miserable when he loses though I think . And not even in a fun way .#Patroclus’s in game depression is nowhere near as fun as Theseus’s whining but . Unfortunately for him I love a melancholic king so I’m #keeping it .
