Art Call "Portraits 2018" for exhibiting and art grant opportunity at "Gallery 25N"
Submission Deadline: December 10, 2018
“PORTRAITS 2018” – The curators are looking for a portrait showing the inner essence of the subject or a flattering representation, not just a literal likeness. As Aristotle stated, "The aim of Art is to present not the outward appearance of things, but their inner significance; for this, not the external manner and detail, constitutes true reality." Artists may strive for photographic realism or an impressionistic similarity in depicting their subject, but this differs from a caricature which attempts to reveal character through exaggeration of physical features. The artist generally attempts a represent an expression in great portraiture of character and moral quality, not anything temporary, fleeting, or accidental.
Twenty artists will be selected for an online group exhibit, "PORTRAITS 2018" at Gallery25N; the exhibit and artists will be extensively marketed worldwide to over 30,000 people including art buyers, gallery owners, curators, collectors, etc.
One artist’s work will be selected to receive the “Christopher E. Burke Fine Art Grant” of $500.

Press Release by Suzanne Ingrao
G25N’S Online Exhibition
Gallery 25N -- “The Emotion & Energy of Color 2018” – Our most recent and stimulating exhibit presents refreshing artwork representing an artist’s unique interpretation and treatment of a subject as it is communicated through the applications of colors. The dynamic of color, as it provides an abstract language expressing emotion and energy, is a visual statement--perhaps a sharp wit--as an interpretation and reflection of the artist’s environmental perceptions and unique voice.
Colors, as they relate to each other within a piece, may bring forth a flow of myriad spontaneous cerebral reactions as well as visceral sensations that take the viewer deep into the artist’s intentions. Our reactions to colors are as we see ourselves and our experiences. The artist’s thoughts oftentimes become our own through these perhaps ephemeral clouds as we view works of art and their colorful dimensions which may extend far beyond our presumed imaginations.
These splendid works are alive with just such intentions. Superb common elements, that is, color and its creative uses and wondrous methods that we witness throughout this exhibit, unite the extensive ranges of thoughts and styles permeating a captivating show. Myriad symbolic patterns evoking emotive intelligence, inspirational dreams, and even motivational instruction offer us journeys through countless visual lessons in life’s experiences. You will enjoy the trip.
The featured artists are:
Derek Bigard - USA
Chris Boyko – USA
Stuart Chape - Samoa

Congratulations to Toby Davis for winning the art call "Scapes 3" with the entry "Flatiron Window"
Toby Davis painting "Flatiron Window" Title: Flatiron Window Medium: Oil on Panel Size: 40" x 30"
Cityscape
Narrative by Suzanne Ingrao
An eloquent cacophony---an oxymoron? This art guides us through a provocative venture as we travel and examine presumed opposing forces toward reconciliation of thought. It exists throughout this art piece. Colors conquer, ridicule our need for definitive boundaries or specific language. The vibrancy creates an amazing blend that defies dissonance. This is a puzzle requiring no need for solution, as the pieces resent the whole and in fact ironically define it.
A headless figure atop a motorcycle clings off balance for safety against seemingly frivolous symbols of our domineering advertising and glorification of discarded materials. Time continues in this painting, as we feel the ongoing smothering effects of this human figure becoming gradually buried, disappearing beneath useless material castaways. The slight touch of poignancy appears at the lower left, a bland colored sullen animal defeated beneath the powerful dark versus bright painted forces surrounding it.
This brilliant application of colors captures our senses and lifts us far above an all too familiar realm of mediocrity. We are ensconced within a visual chaos that invites a dare to finally envelop and welcome its messenger. We are products. Our environment has confirmed this, and this brave painting represents all it entails. This ability to create a sense of stimulating comfort which invites realization and even inspiration to viewers (despite a disturbing concept) is not to be underestimated. Congratulations to this artist for accepting the challenge.

Solo Exhibition & Grant Opportunity at Gallery 25N
Open For Entries "Dreams 2019" Solo Exhibition & Grant Opportunity at Gallery 25N
Prospectus: http://art-competition.net/Contest_Information.cfm?CIP=Dreams_2019
Gallery 25N is seeking an artist for a solo exhibit that will have extensive worldwide marketing and an art grant. The curator for this exhibit will be Edward Burke, artist, teacher. A single artist's artwork based on dreams will be selected for this online exhibit.
Submission Deadline: July 22, 2019 (12:00 Midnight EST) Exhibit Opens: July 31, 2019
Theme: Dreams are windows into what might be called a “substitute” reality that we all experience. Reflections upon our dreams can have a fleeting effect or a significance that may haunt us for a lifetime. The visual artist can offer the viewer, a connection to themselves, through their art. The artist has this opportunity to present a dream as a hazy filtered reality from representational memories to an explosion of abstract and surrealistic imagery---all of which may be emotionally treasured as his or her own.

Open For Entries "Red 2019"
15 Artists Group Exhibition & Grant Opportunity at Gallery 25N
Prospectus: http://art-competition.net/Contest_Information.cfm?CIP=Red_2019
Submission Deadline: August 12, 2019 (12:00 Midnight EST) Curator Selection: on or before August 15, 2019 Artist Notification: on or before August 16, 2019 Grant Announcement: on or before August 16, 2019 Exhibit Opens: August 31, 2019
The curators are looking for artwork that reflects an artist’s interpretation of a subject or theme enhanced through the use of the color red. The extent of this application has no required parameters; the choice rests within the artist’s vision. Colors often symbolize a variety of emotions, an artist’s truth, perhaps wild fantasies---from war, power, heat, love, sexuality, anger, and joy to “soft” idealisms---these are but a few examples. Red, in particular here, can be used to draw the viewer closer emotionally in a way which enhances their reaction to the art. It may define intuitively an intended focal point that carries the viewer more deeply into the artist’s message.
All submissions, which can be expressed from representational to abstract, are welcome. The artists and exhibit will be extensively marketed with press releases, social media marketing, event listings calendars, and will also be featured in “Art Market NewsTM” with over 32,000 subscribers worldwide. We look forward to receiving your works. Art Market News: https://mail07077.wixsite.com/artmarketnews/red
