Solo Exhibition & Grant Opportunity at Gallery 25N
Open For Entries "Dreams 2019" Solo Exhibition & Grant Opportunity at Gallery 25N
Prospectus: http://art-competition.net/Contest_Information.cfm?CIP=Dreams_2019
Gallery 25N is seeking an artist for a solo exhibit that will have extensive worldwide marketing and an art grant.  The curator for this exhibit will be Edward Burke, artist, teacher. A single artist's artwork based on dreams will be selected for this online exhibit.
Submission Deadline: July 22, 2019 (12:00 Midnight EST) Exhibit Opens: July 31, 2019
Theme: Dreams are windows into what might be called a “substitute” reality that we all experience. Reflections upon our dreams can have a fleeting effect or a significance that may haunt us for a lifetime. The visual artist can offer the viewer, a connection to themselves, through their art.  The artist has this opportunity to present a dream as a hazy filtered reality from representational memories to an explosion of abstract and surrealistic imagery---all of which may be emotionally treasured as his or her own.

Open For Entries "Red 2019"
15 Artists Group Exhibition & Grant Opportunity at Gallery 25N
Prospectus: http://art-competition.net/Contest_Information.cfm?CIP=Red_2019
Submission Deadline: August 12, 2019 (12:00 Midnight EST) Curator Selection: on or before August 15, 2019 Artist Notification: on or before August 16, 2019 Grant Announcement: on or before August 16, 2019 Exhibit Opens: August 31, 2019
The curators are looking for artwork that reflects an artist’s interpretation of a subject or theme enhanced through the use of the color red.  The extent of this application has no required parameters; the choice rests within the artist’s vision. Colors often symbolize a variety of emotions, an artist’s truth, perhaps wild fantasies---from war, power, heat, love, sexuality, anger, and joy to “soft” idealisms---these are but a few examples.   Red, in particular here, can be used to draw the viewer closer emotionally in a way which enhances their reaction to the art. It may define intuitively an intended focal point that carries the viewer more deeply into the artist’s message.
All submissions, which can be expressed from representational to abstract, are welcome. The artists and exhibit will be extensively marketed with press releases, social media marketing, event listings calendars, and will also be featured in “Art Market NewsTM” with over 32,000 subscribers worldwide.  We look forward to receiving your works. Art-Competition.net is proud to announce the Art Call Winter Imagination 2019. There will be 5 Winners and 10 Honorable Mentions. This competition is open to all artists and photographers worldwide. The participant can submit any still art medium, including: painting, drawing, collage, photography, digital art, and fiber art. Total Awards in Cash and Art Marketing Prize Value: $8,000.00.
Theme and Selection: “Winter Imagination 2019” can be interpreted broadly and based on real or imagined circumstances. Perhaps the first fallen snow of the season inspires you to imagine a vivid red cardinal against the stark white snow-covered branches of an evergreen tree overlooking the beauty of a frozen-over pond with rolling hills as a backdrop. Or maybe a more ominous scene is visualized inspiring the artist to present a work of art that tells a dark and melancholy story without uttering a word. “Winter Imagination” is anything that inspires the artist to portray a winter theme and tell a story in his or her artwork through visual concepts.

Rob Macintosh's award winning entry into Art-Competition.net's art call "Light of Day"
Tumblr media
Artist's Statement
Rob Macintosh displays enormous diversity in his work. Within the broad divisions of wildlife, landscape and seascape Rob explores a multiplicity of subject matter ranging from the signature rural and urban architecture of South Africa (available at the Ferriera gallery in Bryanston , Johannesburg) and America to sweeping compositions of the deserts, mountains and agricultural heartland of the region. Rob is a self taught artist which has tended to liberate him from much of the formality of fine art which in turn has laid the foundation of Rob's free spirited journey of  personal creative expression.
At the root of Rob Macintosh's work is his passion for art, for the outdoors and for the work and interpretation of many of his principal influences. These include Carl Brenders, Terry Isaac, Ray Swanson and photo realist Richard Estes among many others.
Rob works predominantly in oils but enjoys merging this medium with acrylic in a mixed media style that has become his own. As a child Rob displayed his artistic sophistication by forswearing crayons for a pencil which began a fascination for fine detail...Continue...

Gary Mayer - Contemporary Artist
Tumblr media
“From Soul to Canvas” by Edward A. Burke
If you are fortunate enough to see an exhibit by this incredible artist Gary Mayer, do not expect it to be a pleasant or soothing experience it will be anything but.
His work is a visceral explosion of ideas and visions, with energy so intense that you will leave the work exhausted, however wanting more. It is hard to move from one image to the next, as there is so much to inhale and discover. The forms, colors and symbols dance across the canvas with frantic energy that beckons you in.
Trying to digest the mysteries and endless energy of one Mayer painting seems daunting, a whole exhibit is an experience the viewer will not soon forget. Once you are bitten by Mr. Mayer's work you will understand the term I used "Soul to Canvas".  The Artist's Website

Jodie Marsh Photography, Australia
First place section in Flowers Plants and Gardens 2018 Outstanding Australian Photographer Featured in the International Artists Directory
Tumblr media
When one looks at a Jodie Marsh photo you can’t help being drawn into the beauty and elegance of how she approaches her subjects.  There is such clarity in her observation of the organic life before and the skill to translate that into beautiful dramatic photos.  I believe her artistry is focusing the viewer on these sophisticated, complex structures in a simple dramatic way initially and then allowing us to marvel at the complexity of the subject.  It provides us with such insight beyond the beauty of nature to be astounded by the geometry and detail of the structure. I hope everyone has an opportunity to see and acquire one of her astounding prints
