Coincidence.
I am always listening to music. A lot of people devote time to television shows and films; I enjoy those as well, but in my life, that time is filled with music.
Today I was listening to a playlist and I wanted to see how many times I have listened to one of the tracks this year. Went directly to last.fm and had a nice moment of surprise at the coincidence that the exact moment I checked I had listened to precisely 10,000 tracks this year.
Incidentally, my top track for the first half of the year is Young Galaxy - Blown Minded 👶🌌 - 🤯 73 plays when I checked, 74 now. Depression mode signifier.
Is a coincidence magic? Some people see things that way. Synchronicity is closer to magic in my mind than coincidence is. Perhaps it's coincidence plus meaning.
These are just numbers. I'll be on the lookout for deeper meaning. Hoping to experience some magic, but it's so hard to see.

Hi! I really like the version of the Galaxy Song that you posted way back in July. I was wondering if you had the chords for it anywhere? I'm learning the ukelele and I think it would be a fun one to try out :D
Thank you! I'm delighted that people still enjoy it.
I was sure I had this one in my songbook doc, but it seems I didn't, and when I tried looking it up elsewhere I was rudely reminded by my synesthesia that that my friends and I transposed it to C (from the original Monty Python recording which is in the key of B). We did that because I was a real beginner eight years ago, and admittedly the key of C is still a much easier choice for this song if you can forgive the fact that it makes the whole thing kind of orange.
Anyway, it turns out @adoubtifitbeus kept track of the chords and I've stuck em back on the lyrics under the cut below for your enjoyment.
Chords inside:
Just [C] remember that you're [Em] standing on a [Am] planet that's [C] evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an [G] hour
That's [G7] orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned
A [G] sun that is the source of all our [C] power
The [C] sun and you and [Em] me and all the [Am] stars that we can [C] see
Are [A7] moving at a million miles a [Dm] day
In an [F] outer spiral [Fm] arm, at forty [C] thousand miles an [Am7] hour
Of the [Dm] galaxy we [G] call the Milky [C] Way
Our [C] galaxy [Em] itself contains a [Am] hundred billion [C] stars
It's a hundred thousand light years side to [G] side
It [G7] bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick
But out by [G] us, it's just three thousand light years [C] wide
We're [C] thirty thousand [Em] light years from [Am] galactic central [C] point
We go [A7] round every two hundred million [Dm] years
And our [F] galaxy is [Fm] only one of [C] millions of [Am7] billions
In this [Dm] amazing and [G] expanding [C] universe
The [C] universe [Em] itself keeps on [Am] expanding and [C] expanding
In all of the directions it can [G] whizz
As [G7] fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know
Twelve [G] million miles a minute, and that's the [C] fastest speed there is
So [C] remember, when you're [Em] feeling very [Am] small and [C] insecure
How [A7] amazingly unlikely is your [Dm] birth
And [F] pray that there's [Fm] intelligent life [C] somewhere up in [A7] space
'Cos there's [Dm] bugger-all [G] down here on [C] Earth

Favorite fms character?
Ooo depends on series-
TSS- Nightmare or Galaxy (to draw), but overall maybe Rainbow or Plague? Idk I’ve never really chosen a favorite 🤔 There’s also Nova (nickname for that one Blue Steve Galaxy created to guide Sabre and rainbow around), but that’s mostly bc I headcannoned him to death lol
SSO- Blue
RQ- Shadow Sabre 🖤
SL- Desert, Dream, Beef
TR - I pretty much love them all. I think it’s the SCU series I’ve rewatched the most (probably bc of its length but idk)
AR - Alux (basic, I know, but I’m waiting to catch up until the series is done, so I don’t know many).

November was a bit less busy that October and varies from jawdropping to very meh.
Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone (Ernest Cunningham #1) by Benjamin Stevenson
That one is definitely in the jawdropping category. A great murder mystery in which you have all the keys and the author is right there telling you to "go ahead and solve it". I didn't. I had fun anyway. Just as darkly funny as the title announces.
Wintersmith (Discworld #34) by Terry Pratchett
I think sofar it is my favorite Tifanny Aching story: she is growing up and that shows, she is more responsible, she owns up to what she does wrong, she is still whip smart and I never get tired of the Nac Mac Feegle.
Dracula by Bram Stoker
This count as a novel read since I completed Dracula Daily like everyone on nov 8. The audio drama version by Bloody FM production is so good and a great plus because some of Van Helsing lecture at John are really just too long.
Une belle vie by Virginie Grimaldi
I don't know why but I ended up reading 3 Grimaldi in as many months, maybe because they are rather easy to read, funny and generally have a hopeful vives even when dealing with heavy themes. This one is the story of two estranged sister who reconnect by coming for one last vacation in their grand mother house before they sell it. They rebuilt their relationship and draw back childhood memories, some good and some bad. The part where I got confused is that the author tries to tackle a lot of subjects (bipolarity, depression, domestic violence and cancer are the ones I remember but there are many) instead of just one are two. It was a lot to handle at times but a good read nonetheless.
The Restaurang at the End of the Universe (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy #2) by Douglas Adams
Book 2 is just as crazy as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but I found it a little more coherent, as in I knew approximately where we were going (a restaurant) and the convoluted adventure that leads to and from it made more sense to me than in book 1. I'm really excited for the rest of the series.
L'amant by Marguerite Duras
I admit, I don't see the appeal. The writing is good but not incredibly so. The story itself is rambling, I guess it was intentional but it makes it harder to follow. The relationship between the author as a girl and her lover at least 10 years older is very disturbing when judge by modern standards and I was a little put off by the casual way she talks about her brother's death. I must have missed the literary qualities here but I might try another of her novel later on.
La Dame du manoir de Wildfell Hall (The Tenant of Wildfell Hall) by Anne Brontë
I felt so much fucking rage reading this novel! It has some of the most heinous male characters I have ever read and even the main love interest has a hell of a journey to stop being an entitled jealous violent piece of shit. That said it is very well written otherwise I would have either given up or thrown the whole thing through the window. Helen, the main character is strong minded and brave, I loved her from the start and grew even warmer. I strongly recommend it.
Tw for domestic abuse and alcoholism.
The Sword Catcher (Chronicles of Castelane #1) by Cassandra Clare
This was an indulgence: I said I wanted to read less traditional medieval heroic fantasy and it falls right into it. It is good tho! I liked the concept of the Sword Catcher and the Ragpicker King amd especially how the two characters interact. I really hope the relationship between Connor and Kel is explored more too in the future books because the homoerotic subtext deserve to be more text than that!
Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Cerulean #2) T J Klune
I loved The House in the Cerulean Sea so I was excited for the sequel, but a little weary too. I was afraid not to find what made book 1 so dear to me. But there it was! The kids and their shenanigans, Arthur and Linus being their lovey dovey selves, Zoey and Helen are all the village had kept its newly opened mind from the end of book 1 and that was very comforting. The story is hard, the hate and fear they face hits a little too close. But they overcome it and everything ends well which is just what I wanted to read.
The kids calling Arthur and Linus Dad and Papa was extremely cute. I really loved David and how he bonded with Lucy. Not a comfort book as much as the first one but I had a great time reading it
My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine
I stumbled upon this one because I watched this video of a person who read all the Rylo fanfic turned novels out of morbid curiosity and this one seemed intriguing enough for me to try, open mind and all that. I was promised some whimsy, a shopping montage and a heist.
Well there's comedy (an kumquats for some reason) The shopping montage wasn't much of a montage, they just went and tried t-shirts on. But the end was just stupid: female lead went ahead with a plan she deems stupid and unlikely to work, us reader with even the tiniest bit of social media experience know that the plan is stupid and can't possibly work. And it works. Just genuinely first degree work. When you go with that in a comedy setting at least make your stupid plan work in a funny way, WWDITS style! Some bits are tedious, I understand your 400 year old don't know how to use Instagram but I do and I don't need a full chapter of tutorial (same chapter as my newest fight with my nemesis, the possessiveness trope, you don't get to storm off and brood just cause she posted bikini pics dude!)
Overall it was quite fun if you don't think to much about it.
When Among Crows by Veronica Roth
I listen to the audio book and the accents were *chef kiss*: it is a novella with slavic folklore creatures in an modern setting and I wasn't expecting to love it so much!! It's a story about monsters and family and duty. Angsty, a bit gay, the characters relationship work very well. It will be a reread in the future.Greatest of news for me today! I discovered by googling the spelling of characters names that a second book is coming this year!

Homeworld & Early Life Kaden Reese was born on the mountainous, icy planet of Vandor-3, to a pair of humble artisans who doubled as traders, traveling between nearby systems. Their parents specialized in crafting intricate sculptures and jewelry from Vandor’s natural crystals, which they sold at bustling marketplaces across the galaxy. Though their childhood was often cold and isolating, Kaden found solace in the beauty of the night skies and the sweeping snow-covered landscapes.
Kaden was discovered by the Jedi at the age of five when a traveling Jedi Knight sensed their Force sensitivity during a trade negotiation. Though parting with their parents was painful, Kaden embraced the life of a Jedi, viewing it as a way to bring peace to a galaxy often marked by chaos.
Meeting Obi-Wan Kenobi Kaden first met Obi-Wan Kenobi during their Padawan years (Him being the padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn) at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. They were paired together on a mission as part of their training, assisting their respective masters in diffusing tensions between two warring factions on a distant Outer Rim planet. Kaden admired Obi-Wan's wisdom, calm demeanor, and quick wit. Despite his formal attitude, Obi-Wan was impressed by Kaden's ability to connect with people on an emotional level, often winning others over with their natural charisma.
Over the years, their bond deepened. As Jedi Knights, they often fought alongside each other in the Clone Wars, their partnership becoming one of unshakable trust and loyalty to one another.
Falling for Obi-Wan During their missions together, Kaden’s feelings for Obi-Wan grew from admiration into love. Obi-Wan, though deeply fond of Kaden, was steadfast in his commitment to the Jedi Code and the Order’s strict rules against attachment. When Kaden confessed their feelings one evening after a grueling mission, Obi-Wan’s rejection was as measured as it was heartbreaking.
“I care for you, Kaden, truly I do. But I cannot allow myself to betray the Code, no matter how strongly I feel for you, you know as well as anyone attachments are forbidden...”
The rejection devastated Kaden. They withdrew emotionally, though they remained professional during their missions. Inside, they were a storm of heartbreak, carrying the weight of unspoken love and the ache of unfulfilled connection. Kaden poured themselves into their duties, masking their pain with relentless focus on their role in the Republic's efforts.
Leading Up to Order 66 As the war intensified, Kaden was sent on increasingly dangerous assignments. Their reputation as a courageous and resourceful Jedi Knight preceded them, often working alongside clones on the frontlines. Despite their outward composure, Kaden felt the strain of the war deeply, questioning the morality of the Republic and their place in it.
When Order 66 was issued, Kaden was on a remote battlefield, far from Coruscant. Barely surviving the betrayal of their clone battalion, they escaped into the wilderness, scarred both physically and emotionally. With no word of Obi-Wan’s fate and no Jedi left to turn to, Kaden assumed the worst—that Obi-Wan, like so many others, had been killed.
Life After Order 66 The loss of the Jedi Order and the assumed death of Obi-Wan shattered Kaden. Despite their grief, they clung to the remnants of Jedi teachings, determined to honor the ideals they had once fought for. Traveling between small Outer Rim settlements, Kaden used their skills to protect innocent lives and assist struggling communities.
Still, the weight of their loss was immense. Nights were the hardest, as memories of Obi-Wan and the Order haunted them. They avoided forming close attachments, fearing the pain of loss again, and lived in a perpetual state of mourning.
Reunion with Obi-Wan Kenobi Years later, after Obi-Wan’s rescue of Leia Organa and his return to Tatooine, fate intervened. Kaden, on a supply run in Mos Eisley, was weaving through the bustling streets when they turned a corner—and bumped directly into Obi-Wan.
Time seemed to freeze as their eyes met, both staring in disbelief. Kaden’s breath caught in their throat, their hands trembling as they whispered, “Obi-Wan?”
Before Obi-Wan could respond, Kaden flung themselves into his arms, hugging him tightly. Tears streamed down their face as relief and joy overwhelmed them. “You’re alive. You’re alive,” they murmured, clutching him as though afraid he might vanish if they let go.
That evening, the two sat together in Obi-Wan’s modest home, sharing stories of the past—of their missions, the Order, and the bond they had thought lost forever.
Embracing Love As the Tatooine moons rose high in the sky, their conversation turned to deeper truths. Both unburdened their hearts, speaking of their shared pain and the love that had always lingered between them. In the quiet of the desert night, they finally allowed themselves to embrace what had once been forbidden. (due to Jedi teachings)
Personality & Traits Kaden is deeply empathetic, ruled by emotion and intuition. They are passionate, loyal, and quick to act on their feelings, often to their own detriment. Despite their grief and struggles, Kaden remains a beacon of hope and compassion, embodying the best qualities of the Jedi Order even in its absence. Their love for Obi-Wan is unwavering, a bond that transcends the boundaries of time and the scars of war.

🌲@hellofromthehallowoods (134) This episode has made me so excited for the hfth novels! If I’m not mistaken, there was reference to both Amaryllis and the LEM story! My heart felt so heavy listening to Friday try and save O’Connor, what an enigma that man is. I am ROOTING for Victoria, where is Yaretzi to help her shed this self-hate and embrace her sunlight?? 🥺 I also loved that Harrow and Victoria had a moment of power but let’s not forget that they are actual children, they left a friend behind in a burning building during that same moment … And OUGH Writing Desk! It’s so interesting to finally get a glimpse at his actual motives and how it may be too little too late!!
📞 YAY @thespcpodcast is back!! I thought the premise of this episode was so interesting! Let the nice vampire do their good work! The exploration of how therapy needs has changed with time and how different age groups often seek different things was such an insightful bit of world-building. I’m so excited for more.
🎞 Congratulations to Tiny Terrors on their release anniversary! I strongly suspect that it IS all connected and I can’t wait for more pieces of the puzzle!
🤴 InCo (@itmeblog) Terraforming!! They’re terraforming!! And the late King said that the Galactic Union couldn’t have any tech they didn’t understand. Galaxy eyes = galaxy-brained. I didn’t think this story could get cooler!!
🧛♂️ @re-dracula WHAT a week!!!! It’s SO good listening while knowing what happens next, it makes the mourning all the more bitter. This is what Van Helsing must have felt like. This week has also made me realise how much I’ve missed hearing Jonathan Sims absolutely killing a monologue.
🥾@doyoucopypod (10) Mad respect to Frederick here, I would not have been as calm or as trusting if I stumbled into that situation. It seems like REDACTED is swimming in more guilt that was initially teased. WHO is SHE and why did redacted leave her behind???
🐬 @patterspod P Files #??? Man, this show is so funny. And SO weird. In the best way. Please listen to it.
⛪️ I finished KILL FM! What a treat! I hope the teams involved in making this episode are really happy with what they’ve created - it’s so good!!
🐟 New @kaneandfeels is always such a welcome delight!! Me: It’s Freaky Friday shit. Brutus: It’s Freaky Friday shit Me: 😲 The voice acting was so perfectly uncomfortable that when they were back in their own bodies, it almost felt like they were improvising - the chemistry was so immediately apparent. Also, the bit about the mars bars was so my brand of silly, it made me SO happy.
I can’t wait for more Silt Verses and Moonbase Theta, Out next week! Hope you’ve all had a good weekend 🥰

Ok so my "Big Idea" post from earlier last week
I've written one of those classic Star Wars scrawl title things and some character details for those interested in this TFA AU!! I'm going to be calling it the "galaxy's force" AU from now on so it'll be easier to find :)
Title Scrawl:
Trouble in the galaxy! The vile FIRST ORDER has made its move against the NEW GALACTIC REPUBLIC. Supreme Leader SNOKE has sent some of his personal militia with teams of troopers to invade planets with low defenses. The most notably successful of these invasions was led by his very own Force user, known by most only as THE KNIGHT!
In response to these attacks, Senator LEIA ORGANA and her partner, HAN SOLO, built up a RESISTANCE army. Many citizens of the New Republic are against the First Order, but will they be enough to stop Snoke and The Knight?
Meanwhile, a mysterious figure calling themselves a JEDI has appeared on Jakku. Senator Organa sends a small fighter to investigate these claims!
Character Details:
SUPREME LEADER SNOKE: Leader of the First Order. Horrifically scarred and disfigured, seems to have appeared from nowhere a mere 5 years after the Fall of the Empire. Age undetermined. Appears to be somewhere between 65-80 standard years.
THE KNIGHT: Snoke’s only Force user. Wears an impressive suit of armor and carries an unstable red lightsaber with a crossguard. Armor seems to be made of imitation beskar. Age determined to be between 19-25 standard years. Identity unknown.
SENATOR LEIA ORGANA: One of the founders of the New Galactic Republic. She maintains the honorary status of “senator” due to her services, but no longer participates in the Senate after the end of her term. Carries her lightsaber – blue – everywhere, despite never using it. Lives on Naboo. Age 58 standard years.
HAN SOLO: Husband of Senator Organa. Has a business in shipping, mainly partnered with Bespin and those nearby. Is almost never on-planet, but loves to spend time with his wife when he is on Naboo. Always on the lookout for someone important. Age 65 standard years.
REY SKYWALKER: Padawan learner of Luke Skywalker. Regarded as his daughter, if not by blood. Basically adopted her after her parents tried to save her from some sort of family curse. Has a blue lightsaber. Unclear if it belongs to her. Age determined to be between 14-17 standard years.
LUKE SKYWALKER: The last Jedi Master. Vanished off the face of the galaxy after the disaster that killed half his students, sent a quarter missing, and took the other quarter with him. Has a green lightsaber. Age 58 standard years.
POE DAMERON: Pilot for the Resistance. Well-regarded by cohorts, and jokingly called the “Senator’s son” due to his high esteem. Quietly, of course, as everyone knows. Son of an ex-First Order loyalist who saved him from being forced into spice running on Kajimi. Age 21 standard years.
FN-2187: Stormtrooper in the First Order. Captain of a squad of troopers with designations FM through HO. One of the main squads to accompany The Knight on excursions for Snoke. If asked by members outside the Order, he will state that his station is merely “sanitation.” Age determined to be 20-21 standard years.
FM-1849: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 18-19 standard years.
FX-0367: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 22-24 standard years.
GB-1214: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 20-21 standard years.
GE-0101: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 24-25 standard years.
GI-0803: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 22-23 standard years.
GW-3295: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 17-19 standard years.
HC-1654: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 19-21 standard years.
HF-2250: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 24-26 standard years.
HK-0231: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 18-19 standard years.
HO-3999: Stormtrooper under FN-2187. Age determined to be 15-17 standard years.
PHASMA: Stormtrooper in the First Order. Frequently called by the title “Captain,” but seems to be of a higher rank. Commandeers all stormtroopers on-ground, unless overridden by Snoke or one of the leading Generals. Age determined to be around 30-34 standard years.
LEADING GENERAL HUX: One of the 5 Leading Generals in the First Order. Unclear if “Armitage Hux” is real name or just a title. A harsh man. Often seems to be a precedent to The Knight. Age determined to be around 23-27 standard years.
BB-8: Small, orange-and-white astromech. Accompanies Poe Dameron on flights. Seems relatively new; acts like a puppy.

Me: I am going to work on Single Dads and Fake Marriage AUs
Evil Me: oh so we're making fankids?
Me: what? NO! I'm finishing FM AU art wips and either ch 2 or a one shot for SD!
Evil: gotcha, timeline for Usatello Single Dads AU, research yokai, amphibians and birds of Japan, rabbit breeds and size of litter to roll die on how many kids the couples will have, look up kanji for names...
Me: no, No, NOOOOOOOOOO
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6b7bfa5be2f2f45fda1619e7ed2aa094/690bbbe1e9a8e502-d6/s1280x1920/44091781cbb4f20af4dc5369eb97dce92fc61d9d.jpg)
This image contains the Usatello kids planning but the back of the papers has TomoSagiMariKen kid plannings and Next Gen AU stuff
I used a dice roller and random name picker to choose how many kids, what bio parents(for UY Fake Marriage AU), what gender, species the kids are, then for their names
Fake Marriage AU;
TomoSagi Kid, either a cat or rabbit, leaning towards cat, son, either has fur pattern/coloring like Swiss Fox or Tan Rabbit, Swiss Fox because i made Tomoe a Somali Cat which are called Fox Cats sometimes and Tan because of Tomoe's pretty fur colors.
MariKen Kids, plural, son and daughter, hija has Kenichi head, eyes, and ears, Mariko hair, eye shape and nose. Hijo has Kenichi eye shape, nose, chin, Mariko's face, ears and eyes. Haven't decided which kid yet but one will have Himalayan or Californian fur pattern and the other piebald/broken fur pattern
Oh I should also mention that my evil genius brain had me researching Renaissance artists and artists of art movements that came after the Renaissance AND Surrealism because Frida Kahlo was considered part of that art movement and there was word that the Rise!Turtles missing sister would have had that name
Usatello Single Dads AU
Waffling between artist names, Japanese names, or flower names(Usagi likes nature and Donnie has a passion for botany; still has a theme to follow but it isn't artist name this time)
Random name picker rmy beloved/beloathd
So I always had plans for turtle/rabbit hybrid because heheh fusion go brrr, particularly a daughter that's named after Inazuma's 'dead' name Tomiko
And then I saw @/quartergremlin had the galaxy brain idea of including PSDD as one of Donnie's kids and redesigning it so I rolled a die for how many kids, then put in all bio, all adoptees, psdd and bio, psdd and adoptees
P.S.D.D and adoptees won, so then I went to yokai.com to see what they got to get the ideas flowing, put birds I was thinking of making ocs with and basing Rise! Karasu-tengu off of
Ended up with a hane-no-haeta kappa kid and a Daruma Pond Frog kid, adopted son and daughter respectively
Usagi came across the kappa boy on one of his misadventures and Donnie came across the frog girl in the Hidden City
P.S.D.D uses ve/vir/vis pronouns (because it sounds a lil like virus which ve finds hilarious)
D.D.'s design is based off of Don's fantasy mech from Down With The Sickness and tmnt 2012&2003 Fugitoid
But then I got attached to the flower names, especially the poisonous ones so Middle Name Time!!!
Tomiko Amaryllis Hamato-Miyamoto (iiii don't think amaryllis were in my poisonous list but they were in my Victorian era/hanakotoba flower language list I think)
Shigeru Larkspur Hamato-Miyamoto (the kappa child, Shigeru is made up of either the kanji for Rabbit[ie Usagi] or lapis lazuli and something else i can't remember off the top of my head)
{Mountain} Laurel Koyuki Hamato-Miyamoto (Donnie named her because He's Extra, and she didn't have a name as an orphan street rat, lil iffy about her middle name, thinking of keeping the flower middle name thing but Shelldon/P.S.D.D/Jotaro dont have one and her name is ks already a flower sooooo...)
D.D. and Tomiko have already been designed and have color palettes everyone else is still in the works...
#ay speaka#anyway*blows up*#may instead use artist names for caprilnardo kid(s?)#usatello single dads au#usagi yojimbo fake marriage au#Laurel is a partially based off the frog bride yokai#but shes just a yokai not a Yokai(tm)#the difference in riseverse imo is BigMama/BaronDraxum/Mayhem are Yokai and yokais like the police officers and the Mud Dogs are yokai#regular folks aside from the fact they're not human#Yokai are of course traditional japanese yokai but also other creatures of myth and legend#i imagine witches are a weird inbetween and higly debated on whether theyre Yokai because of mystics and mythos or yokai because#its a learned art

As has become his trademark of sorts, James Gunn begins his final foray in the MCU with a pop song. But, where the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" opened with the bouncy bass funk of Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love," and the second film began with a battle royale alongside ELO's "Mr. Blue Sky," the last film, as Rocket (Bradley Cooper) sits contemplatively on the steps outside the Guardians' headquarters on Knowhere (a floating giant alien skull -- don't ask), we can hear the downcast, mournful vocals of Radiohead's "Creep" (and a plaintive acoustic version at that).
In as much as Gunn's song choices are a huge part of his productions -- and never more so than in the Guardians' series, whose narrative beats are almost entirely predicated on '70s-and-'80s era FM pop -- this choice of dirge sets a different, more sober tone for the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," the last in the trilogy, and the last film Gunn will make for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, now having jumped over to the DCU, as the would-be savior to rescue it from the Zack Snyder somberverse.
The choice of character to focus on also proves to be relevant: This final installment focuses in large part on the tragic backstory of Rocket, the gun-loving, chaos-driving sentient raccoon-like figure who has always been the series' most compelling character.
