He defends uther so much even though he’s unsalvageable, and he’s one of the only people who will speak out to uther if he’s being too much of a di*k, i think it’s canon that he’s technically the court advisor? And in 5.3 the death song of uther pendragon uther attacked everyone except for gaius

Gaius saw first hand how uther made merlin + gwen fatherless, how he made morgana suffers, but he keeps lying to them and was always like: no merlin we have to keep uther alive, until arthur can become king 😌 And gaius never marries

conclusion: gaius is an uther apologist

(i think the reason why we didn’t talk abt gaius x uther much because we despised uther and its just so subtle but you can see it once you squint. And we didn’t really focus on this characters to really ‘yea why is gaius kinda sus’)
