Occitania 2.

On this day:
UFO ANGEL HAIR
On October 17, 1952, a large, cigar-shaped UFO with an entourage of thirty smaller "shapeless smoke balls" glided through the sky over the French Pyrenees, astounding hundreds of people in the town of Oloron-Ste-Marie. Those using binoculars could see that each smoke ball had a deep red sphere at its center and a glowing yellow ring encircling it. The main UFO flew while tilted at a 45-degree angle, and it spewed a vaporous plumage from its top end.
Schoolmaster Monsieur Yves Prigent and his wife had just called their three children to lunch when one of the children called from the window for the others to join him. The craft were a mile or two up in the sky, and the smaller spheres flew in pairs, zipping this way and that. An electric arc was created between them if they moved away from each other. The jet stream from the ships floated to the ground as angel hair, gossamer threads dropping and draping themselves over trees, telephone wires, and roofs. Many people attempted to collect specimens, only to watch them evaporate. The school gymnastics teacher and science teacher both collected large skeins, while the rest of the staff experimented with setting fire to the strands before they turned to jelly and then disintegrated or disappeared.
Nearly two weeks later, numerous persons witnessed the return of the spaceships when they glided over Gaillac for nearly twenty minutes, flying much lower this time and continuing to emit angel hair. Madame Daures first noticed the UFOs when her chickens got tremendously excited; when she searched the skies for a bird of prey, she saw the craft that had flown over Oloron-Ste-Marie earlier. The angel hair was again collected, but quickly disintegrated, as it had before.

Sundry nonsense from The Flying Saucers Have Landed:
Other authors, believing that everything which flies must contain a pilot, have said they carry tiny beings six inches in height. Gerald Heard tried to convince us that they were propelled by intelligent insects from Mars. And one scientist, who should have known better, advanced a theory for small intelligent vegetables!
So you believe in aliens and alien spacecraft existing in even "higher" states than gas and radiation, but you draw the line at intelligent plants. Okay then, buddy.
There is a very old tradition in the Arcane Schools of Egypt, Greece, South America, and in some of the Western Arcane Orders that a planet in our system was once destroyed by the misapplied discovery of the fundamental power of the atom.
There is literally no such tradition. You're willfully misinterpreting these types of stories again, aren't you?
It is possible that our own universal Deluge Legends and accounts of a terrible catastrophe in which the ‘stars fell from their places and rained down on the Earth ‘may be related to the same cause.
Yeeeeeaaahhh I dunno how to tell you dipshits that the story of Noah and the Book of Revelation aren't even remotely about the same thing. Because they aren't. And you people would know that if you ever bothered to learn how people in the 1st century actually viewed the cosmos and read Revelation through without trying to isolate and cherry pick pieces from it.
It is a pity that none of these reports tell what happened to the jelly; whether it melted, evaporated, was analysed, or just left to stink, for had notes been made,we would now have something to compare with an extraordinary occurrence that took place over Gaillac, in south-west France, on 29 October 1952, where matter falling from a squadron of sixteen saucers escorting a huge ‘flying cigar‘ was picked up by people underneath, which unfortunately ‘disintegrated’ before they could get it to a laboratory for analysis.
Or maybe the reason nobody took any notes in these incidents is because they never happened and the reports themselves were hoaxes. And maybe the reason they claimed that the matter "disintegrated" before they could study it in the lab was because it never existed in the first place?
(Edit/Update: It's thought that the cigar-shaped object was an optical illusion, and the mysterious substance was actually spider webs.
That said, if somebody tells you that there was totally physical evidence but that the evidence Mysteriously Vanished... that's a red flag that they're pulling your leg.)
