Before Ruelle was Ruelle she was Gabriella Silva, the middle child of the famous Silva family. Her father owned a music label and her mother was an actress of renown for many years before retiring into the field of business where she founded and owned a chain of successful hotels. From the moment of her birth, Gabriella’s life was all mapped out for her: she was to become either a model, actress, or doctor. The first option was quickly struck from the list she was allowed to choose from when she didn’t meet the required height. Her older sister was already well on her way to fulfilling that role instead, however, so it came as no huge loss to Gabriella’s family that it wasn’t her to achieve it. Her younger brother was a quick learner and was set to follow in their father’s footsteps as a business owner of some type.

Beauty, money, power. The three values of the Silva family. Gabriella was raised to know she was among the most attractive, she had her family’s wealth to rely on, and their influence to get accepted into whatever schools she wished and whatever job she wanted. But somehow she managed: she payed a large sum of money that she explained away as buying herself cosmetics and gifts for her fake friends that her parents insisted she associate with.

At 23 Gabriella Silva ceased to exist and Ruelle Espinosa was born. Ruelle packed up some clothes, leftover money she had after getting her new identity forged, and left the only home she knew for, what she’d hoped would be, greener pastures. She was going to need a job that wouldn’t be quick to draw the attention of her family and, more importantly, so she could have some form of income in order to be able to afford a place to stay. As much as she wished to live alone, with what money she had it wouldn’t last her for long, and so she set to finding a roommate. Fortunately, her roommate was in search of people and didn’t pry too much into her personal life so Ruelle was quick to accept when they offered her a room.

She enrolled in training to become an EMT and gave it her best effort, eventually completing the became certified. It wasn’t the job of her dreams, but it wast sufficient.
