first time requester here uhhh could you pretty please with cherries on top do tfw (and maybe gabe or Lucifer? up to you though!) reacting to reader being like, REALLY quiet in bed? Like they’re not holding back or anything, they just genuinely don’t make much noise?
Tumblr media
Rating: 18+
Please remember: As long as you're trying, you're doing better than you think.

Dean: Unless you specify that making noise is a boundary for you, he will see it as a challenge. He’ll find things, moves you like and hammer them over, and, over again to try and get some noise out of you. Or he’ll ask you lots of dirty questions during the deed. High praise, when you do make noise, like he’s trying to condition more noise. He just needs some kind of queue that he’s doing a good job, encouragement, like a dog being told he’s a good boy.
If you state it’s a limit, he’ll respect that, but he needs some other indicator, like red-light/green-light, or some form of physical touch meant to convey a job well done.
Tumblr media
Sam: Won’t really bat an eyelid at it. He’s a very accepting person, and he likes you for you, noisy or not.
If you express to him that you’d like to be noisier in bed, he will happily assist. Asking how you’re doing; how does that feel? What about this? No, no, not until you show me how much you want it. Repeating things he’s learned will get a reaction out of you.
Otherwise, he’ll keep on ploughing as is.
Tumblr media
Castiel: If you’re normally a very vocal/noisy person in day-to-day life, he’d be concerned. He’ll worry that he’s done something wrong. When he confronts you and you tell him you’re good, you’re just quiet, he’ll feel so much relief, you’ll see the weight lift from his shoulders. Bless him, he gets stressed.
If you’re not normally a very vocal/noisy person, then he likely won’t notice. There are many, many humans, and they are all strange and unique, and this is just part of who you are.
He is quite chatty in bed however, he likes to express how he is feeling, how you make him feel, and he likes to check on you, so unless you’re happy to have little check ins/chit chats mid sex, you’ll need to express your boundaries.
Tumblr media
Gabriel: Very similar to Dean. Evoking noise from you is a game, and he’s determined to master it. Even if that means underhanded tactics. Laughter is just as good, there will be tickling. He will playfully withhold or deny you touches or kisses to make you beg ask for them. Oh, that one little touch made you moan a teeny tiny bit? WE’RE DOING THAT AGAIN!
If you state that it’s a boundary, that’s cool, cool, cool. He can make enough noise for the both of you, he’s a soft, chatty, moaning, mess of an angel in the throws anyway.
Tumblr media
Lucifer: Honestly, he probably won’t even notice at first. Like Gabe, he will make enough noise for the both of you. He loves the sound of his own voice, and he often gets lost in the feelings and his own emotions throughout. When he does eventually notice, he’d tease you about it. The ideal reaction is for you to get all shy and frustrated about it, but any provoked response is likely satisfying, he just likes to know he’s having an effect on you.
Tumblr media
Michael: Is also very quiet in bed, in fact, he prefers it. His mind is very busy (especially when Adam is in there) and he enjoys being able to turn it off. He just does what feels good. There is no need to perform, and the fact that you respond the same is very validating for him. He will not question, tease, or try to provoke an inauthentic response from you. He will accept you as you are.

I want to fluff up Gabriel's hair and just lean against him while he rants to me about the things that interests him.
Tumblr media
Gabriel: “You blinked 16,450 times today. While you slept I counted that you blinked on average 30 times per hour when you’re dreaming. When you’re awake you blinked 1,600 per hour. Today I’ll focus on discerning how many times you’ll blink when you’re pissing. It will be interesting to check if my hypothesis is true.”

Take a Moment
Genre; hurt/comfort, fluff
Word count; 1.8k
Warnings; description of reader feeling overwhelmed, reader having a little doubt as to why Gabriel is helping them so much.
Pairing; Gabriel (Supernatural) x Reader
Gabriel who is absolutely smitten with the reader sees they are feeling overwhelmed whilst researching a case and offers to take them somewhere quiet – comfort and cuddling ensues.
I’m back! I really enjoyed writing this one (I'm rewatching Supernatural at the moment and my love of Gabriel has been rekindled) and I’m considering doing something similar with Lucifer – let me know if that’s something you would want to read. Enjoy!

You didn’t even have to say anything for Gabriel to know something was wrong. Castiel was never likely to notice, but the archangel had to forgive him that. His brother wasn’t the most perceptive when it came to emotion. The Winchesters were very perceptive, but they were only human and you were covering your discomfort well. Your breathing was regular and steady, there were no signs of a tapping foot or a repetitive hand movement, or anything that would signal how you felt.
But Gabriel could actually feel how you felt, one of the perks of his true form being an enormous series of celestial wavelengths. It was incomprehensible to you, he was sure, but you understood enough about angels to get the gist. He watched as you sat at the end of the table in the bunker’s library, having put yourself there so that no one would sit down next to you. You had your legs crossed tight at the knee, your arms crossed where you leaned forward on the table. Your posture looked closed off, but there was a mug of coffee by your side and you had been reading lore for hours. The others would assume you had slept poorly or were bored senseless. What that posture really meant was that you were protecting yourself, consciously or not.
Nothing had happened to trigger it, but it was clear to Gabriel that you felt incredibly overwhelmed. He stayed were he had set himself up by one of the bookshelves, one hip cocked against it. He had seen you leave situations like this in the past, when things finally did get too much and you needed some space to yourself. Equally, he had seen you try to tough it out and pretend everything was fine more times than he wanted to count. He truly wishes you knew you didn’t have to, regardless of if that meant you wanted his help or not.
Sam and Dean were sitting far enough down the table that it didn’t seem to be affecting your clear need – or clear to Gabriel, at least – for personal space. Castiel was browsing books along the shelves on the other side of the room, so whilst Gabriel wanted desperately to intervene and help you, he was glad for a moment to think that he wouldn’t need to.
That was until the idiot brothers decided to open their mouths.
“Hey Y/N, did you find anything on that weapon?”
Gabriel would have liked to snap Dean’s mouth shut. You told him that you hadn’t with a small smile, short but not unkind. Gabriel could see the effort it took for you to regain your focus on your reading. Just a few minutes later and Sam was the one to interrupt you, asking for the title of a book you had mentioned to him the previous day. This time it was harder for you to concentrate on your task again. It was when Dean disrupted your work for a third time, asking if you wanted more coffee as he stood and made his way to the kitchen, that you couldn’t take it a second longer.
Your refusal was decisive and your chair legs scraped against the floor as you pushed back from the table. You left the room quickly with a muttered excuse about going to look for a different book. Gabriel took his chance and flew ahead of you, leaving the library without anyone noticing. He was leaning against the wall outside your room when you arrived in a flurry from the speed at which you had been walking. You jumped in surprise when you rounded the corner to see him standing there and promptly tried to push straight past him in an effort to get a moment by yourself.
“Sorry Gabriel, I just need a minute.” Your words were quiet and your breathing had turned heavy. He knew that he would be making things worse for you in the moment, but he also knew he could help in the long run.
“Hey, sugar…” he murmured, voice even softer than it normally was when he spoke to you. “You wanna go somewhere quiet?”
You paused, hand on the door to your little closed in space in the bunker. No windows, not much by way of fresh air, and a whole group of people in the library just waiting to interrupt your alone time. You trusted Gabriel, knew he would never do anything to hurt you. And you desperately needed a break from it all.
He could have jumped for joy when you nodded, but he kept his reaction contained. He offered you a hand, palm up, which you took hold of immediately. The bunker was gone in the time it took you to blink. Instead, you stood in the main room of a sunny villa-like house, all open plan and large windows. Orange sunlight streamed in from a setting sun and to your right, double glass doors led out onto a sprawling patio. Bright blue pool water glimmered from its centre.
Gabriel let your hand slip from his as you took a few steps into the room, looking around with a beautiful if not tired smile.
“Is this yours?” You asked, a hint of wonder in your words that made Gabriel’s chest swell.
“Just a bit of real estate I have over in Cali.” He gave you his classic playful smirk as you looked back at him, amused by his dismissal of such a nice place. “Make yourself at home, sugar. You want a drink?” You seemed to consider something for a moment, rolling the sentence around in your mouth.
“Actually, I – this is probably silly, but can we just sit down for a minute?”
We.
You wanted to sit down with him until you felt better. That was how much you trusted him, how safe you felt with him. Outwardly, he just gave you a smile and sauntered over to one of the couches arranged artfully around the room.
“Course we can! And don’t ever worry about sounding silly with me.”
He held an intense moment of eye contact with you to make sure his message sank in. You took a seat on the other side of the couch and Gabriel couldn’t resist stretching an arm out along the back of it, behind your head. Not touching, but the invitation was there. You smiled to yourself at his less than subtle antics. He grinned like a cheshire cat when you shifted further towards him and rested your head on his shoulder. He slid his arm around your shoulders and pulled you in close, resting his cheek atop your head. You in turn curled into him fully and wound an arm around his neck.
Gabriel didn’t bother to fight the warm feeling in his chest. He felt no need to deny to himself how fond he was of you, instead just enjoying the moment. He felt you relaxing against him physically, but he also felt your mind becoming calmer. His breath shifted your hair as he took in the scent of your shampoo. He had years of experience passing time in the company of humans, but this little display of trust you were putting on meant more to him than a lot of that put together.
His other hand alighted on your hip as you moved closer still, mindlessly seeking comfort. You tucked your legs up onto the couch and the movement allowed you to put more of your weight against the archangel. He wrapped an arm around your waist and you reached your own up over his shoulders. He smiled at you ever so warmly as you tucked your face into his neck, watching your eyes close as you let out a contented sigh. He began to card his fingers through your hair, lightly scraping his nails over the back of your head, and all but basked in the way your head tilted further forwards onto his shoulder.
“You know you can talk to me when you feel like that, right? Or any time. I’m always here if you need me to be.” You tightened your hold on him for a brief moment. “And you can come here whenever you want, just give me the word.”
You leaned back a little at that, catching his eye.
“Gabriel, thank you. Really, thank you, but… why are you doing all this for me?” He rolled his eyes playfully without missing a beat.
“Oh no, the big bad archangel Gabriel looks like he might actually give a crap about some human.” He waved his hands around for dramatic affect before placing them back on you. He then tilted his head forward, narrowing his eyes and raising a brow. “Seriously?” The half shrug you offered had him muttering heatedly to himself in Enochian. “Seriously? Is it really that shocking that I give a damn about you? Why is this coming as such a surprise?” You were planning on not answering that verbally but he refused to let you look away. “Come on, sugar. You must know I care about you by now.” Gabriel’s hand started on a steady path up and down your back, waiting for your answer. You stumbled around your words for a lot longer than you would have liked, still unhappy with what you settled for in the end.
“I – didn’t really realise.”
“You think I bring anyone else here when I can see they need some space to breathe?” He wasn’t mocking, or even upset, he was just being direct.
“I’m surprised you brought me here,” you muttered, very quiet. He didn’t deign to answer that in words, but the look he gave you said come on. You gave a soft sigh of your own. “Gabriel, look. I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t realise you cared about me so much, I really didn’t.” He went to hit back, likely with something disparaging, so you tapped his nose to get his attention. The self-righteous expression of how dare you had a grin pulling at your lips. “You can complain about me not realising later, alright? You were a much more calming influence when you weren’t saying anything.” He repeated that back to you, absolutely exasperated by your nerve, but you tucked your face back into his shoulder instead of replying. You felt him shake his head, even as his arms wound back around you.
You knew you wouldn’t have much time left before you needed to return to the bunker, but for the time being, you simply enjoyed your moment of peace.

Overwatch Characters Love Languages P3
Tumblr media
Pharah Physical touch, trust me, she adores holding her partner's hand, picking them up, holding them close, lifting them to see things they’ve never seen before. Forehead kisses, either giving or getting them, makes her weak.
Rammattra Acts of service  He would do anything for those he cares about and he expects that level of dedication from his partner. He does not demand from his loved one but he wants total equality in his relationships. A very ‘give as good as you get’ sort of being.
Reaper Quality time Might come as a surprise but Reaper enjoys being around the person he has feelings for. He might not talk alot, or be too busy to do much with his partner but he enjoys the comfort of being one another's shadow when in the safety and comfort of his own space.
Reinhardt Acts of service and physical touch He loves picking up his partner like they weigh nothing, twirling them around. He is 100% the partner that will dance around the kitchen with you. He will also do as many things as he can to make your life easier.
Roadhog Quality time A man of few words but he’s grown so used to having someone glued to his hip that he doesn’t think he can go without it again. He just likes to exist in the same space as his partner, being the one to listen and nod. So used to being the passive voice in any situation.

Yandere Alternate head-cannons

Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who appears before you in a flickering haze of static and light, his otherworldly form both awe-inspiring and terrifying, his voice echoing with a warped, melodic quality that freezes you in place.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who speaks to you in a tone that feigns divinity, addressing you as if you’re the chosen one meant to worship him—and only him.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who knows fear is etched into every fiber of your being when you see him but twists it in his mind as reverence. “You tremble before me. As you should.”
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who watches your every move from the shadows, appearing in reflective surfaces, static-filled TVs, and the corners of your vision. You can feel his presence even when you can’t see him.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who whispers your name in the dead of night, his voice crackling like an old radio. He promises you safety, salvation, and love—though every word makes your blood run cold.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who grows enraged when you flinch away from him, his voice booming with distorted anger. “Why do you deny me? I am all you need.”
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who convinces himself that your fear is a sign of devotion, his warped logic twisting your terror into affection.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who isolates you from others by sabotaging your electronics, cutting off communication, and appearing in their place. He wants you to believe he’s the only one who truly cares.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who manifests in your home more frequently, standing silently in darkened hallways or watching you from the end of your bed as you try to sleep.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who mimics the voices of loved ones to lure you into conversations, only to reveal his true form when you least expect it.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who justifies his possessiveness by claiming it’s for your protection. “The world is full of lies and false prophets. I am your truth. I am your salvation.”
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who despises the idea of you seeking comfort from anyone or anything else. He sees your attempts to escape him as betrayal, his form flickering violently when you disobey.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who occasionally shifts into a near-human form, attempting to mimic warmth and affection. But no matter how convincing he appears, there’s always something off—a flicker in his eyes, the way his smile reaches up too high on his face.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who promises you eternity by his side, whether you want it or not. “You cannot escape me. You were made for me.”
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, whose twisted idea of love becomes more suffocating by the day, the lines between protection and possession blurring into something unrecognizable.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who doesn’t just want your body or mind—he wants your soul, a bond so unbreakable it transcends mortal comprehension.
Yan!Alternate Gabriel, who, despite his attempts to control you, occasionally lets his facade slip, revealing the depths of his obsession in a raw, horrifying way. “You are mine. And if I must destroy everything to keep you, so be it.”

gabriel x reader
warnings: slightly sub!gabriel (but mostly a switch) teasing, wing kink, smut, language, maybe overstim if you look hard enough?
Gabriel had been around since creation. Hell, even before that. During early stages of his life, he had been too busy to think about pursuing any sort of romantic interests; doing his father’s dirty work, delivering messages, avoiding fights between his siblings, whatever kept him busy.
In recent years, the occasional hooker or porn star was enough to suffice. He’d messed around with Kali, but there wasn’t any emotional attachment there. He preferred to be constantly on the go. That was until he met you.
Gabriel was instantly drawn to you. He tried, tried so hard to avoid it, for your own safety. If the wrong people found out he had a soft spot for you, that’d make you a target. But you’d stuck to him like glue. Neither of you could deny it. It didn’t matter what the Winchesters or anybody thought; he was your archangel. You were his person.
Now here you were, on top of him, peppering kisses along his jawline, fingers weaving their way through his soft, golden feathers. His hands gripped the bedsheets, and he let out a long, husky sigh. You circled your hips against his, grinding against him, earning a low groan.
“Sugar, please.” Gabriel whined, pushing his hips up at yours, desperate for any friction.
You weren’t about to give in yet, wanting to see how far he’d unravel. Sitting up, you looked over him, your eyes meeting his. His eyes were dark and wild with lust, staring into yours with need. The messy sight of him beneath you was almost enough to send you over the edge; almost. His hair was disheveled, breathing uneven.
He had no idea he was capable of wanting something so badly. You leaned back down over him, kissing below his ear, gently sucking the skin before moving to his mouth. He leaned up, meeting your lips with his own. You could almost taste the desire on him. His tongue made its way into your mouth, clashing with yours. When you came up for breath, you moved back down to his collarbone, kissing and leaving a line across him.
You moved your fingers further up toward the base of his wings, weaving through feathers and massaging deep into the muscle, earning a whimper from him. Now that was driving him crazy. Gabriel didn’t show his wings to anyone, apart from casting shadows, which was more a display of power. You were the first person to see them in all of their glory, which was probably the deepest form of trust he could ever give.
And here you were, using them to your advantage. Each movement across his feathers sent pleasure coursing through his very essence. He groaned as you hit a particularly sensitive spot, his grace stirring within him. Your name rolled from his tongue as if it were something from the gospel. It was almost too much. The room felt too hot, despite the fact that he was supposed to be unbothered by temperature. He wanted, no, needed more.
Part of him wanted to flip you over and fuck you right into the mattress until you couldn’t even think. On the other hand, he wanted to melt right there. He could die happily right then and there, with you on top of him, giving him your full, undivided attention.
Sex was not something archangels needed. God’s creatures and lust just didn’t mix. Sure, it was a decent outlet to blow off steam, but for the longest time Gabriel never even pursued it. When he did, it was just that; to blow off steam on some pornstar. It was never something he needed.
But at this moment, he couldn’t think about anything else. He needed you more than anything, as if it were a basic survival need; and in his state of mind, it might actually be. For the first time in centuries- perhaps ever, his mind was blank with pure, unfiltered lust.
“Y/N, I need you. Please.” Gabriel begged.
Nothing else mattered but you in that moment. His hands moved to your hips with a grip that, in any other circumstance, would hurt. You knew you’d be waking up the next morning with fingertip bruises. He had never wanted anything more in his entire life. You sat up, moving your hands down to his pants, finding his hard cock pressed against the fabric.
“Is that all for me, Gabe?” There was an edge of humor in your tone. It wasn’t very often you found yourself in this position. It was almost a humbling thought, that one of the world’s most powerful forces was a whimpering mess beneath you.
He pulled you back down on top of him. “Sugar, all of me is for you,” And there was not a single doubt about that.
Gabriel sat up, keeping you in his lap. His patience was gone, and he could barely even think straight. He didn’t have to put any thought into it, and just like that, and his pants, along with your own clothes were gone, leaving nothing to separate the two of you. He was quick to work, lifting his hand up to grab your breasts, massaging and thumbing over your sensitive nipples. He placed deep kisses at your neck, his molten hot cock between your thighs begging for friction.
He flipped you over, so that he towered over you. He spent the next few moments with his full attention on you, kissing every sensitive spot on your neck. Each little sound you made fueled him on.
“Gabriel..” You whined. Every ounce of you wanted him, more than anything.
“Oh, now you want more? Hm?” He replied, bringing two fingers down your your folds, rubbing back and forth. You were soaked. It was his turn to tease you now, and he wasn’t planning on giving in easily. He returned to your breasts, leaving soft kisses all over.
His fingers circled your clit, his touch light as a feather. You bucked your hips towards him, desperate for more. He groaned at your need, kissing and sucking at your neck, and at the same time, slipped two fingers into you. You tossed your head back, an embarrassingly loud moan filling the air. If this was the reaction two fingers got, you were in for a long night.
“You’re so good for me, sugar.” He smirked, curling his fingers to hit just the right spot. You cried out, the pleasure coursed through your body. He repeated the motion, slipping in and out of you, his thumb occasionally rubbing at your clit.
You reached up to grab something- anything, and your fingers met with his wings again. You gripped the feathers, pulling softly and he emitted a nearly inhuman sound. He’s starting to feel possessive, and it’s both scary and invigorating. His grace stirs deep within him, more than it has in a very long time.
Gabriel’s breath is shaky, and you aren’t sure you’ve ever heard him like this. When it comes to his wings, this is intimacy beyond the regular sex you have. In this moment, you’re touching him; his actual self, not just his vessel. That’s a rather profound realization. His fingers pushed deeper into her, curling again at just the right spot.
“Oh- Fuck, Gabriel..” You murmur, and he cups your jaw with his other hand, his mouth covering yours as he takes his fingers out of you. He stroked his cock, coating it with your juices. He guided himself to just the right place, leaving it right at your entrance. Your fingertips dug into the muscle of his wings, and electricity crackled through the air as he moaned your name. He rubbed his cock against your clit.
Gabriel bucked his hips forward with one swift motion, his hot cock filling you completely. You gasped at the intrusion, and his breathing hitched. For a moment there was silence between the two of you. You wiggled your hips, adjusting to him.
“You okay, sugar?” He murmured, beginning at a slow pace. There were no words, your mind blank with pleasure. You could only moan his name, bucking your hips up to push him in deeper. You could only hope he got the point.
And that he did, he planted his mouth onto yours, withdrawing his cock completely. His tongue danced with yours, and he thrust back into you, filling you to the brim once more. This time, he wasted no time. He set a hard, fast pace, fucking you damn near senseless. The room filled with the sounds of his groans, your moans, and skin on skin.
You moved your hands further up the base of his wings, massaging between the feathers, earning a whine at your touch. Gabriel couldn’t stand it. His grace whorled deep inside of him, and for once, he knew he wouldn’t last long. He reached down between the two of you, thumbing at your clit. You practically melted at the extra touch, pleasure coursing through your body in waves.
You recognized a familiar buildup deep within your core; you were close, and Gabriel knew it as well. He knew by the way you gripped his feathers, by the way your moans grew breathy, the way your hips bucked up at him.
“I’ve got you, sugar,” He coaxed. He was almost there too. The pressure built up, more and more, until you couldn’t bear it anymore. You cried out, clinging to him as your orgasm rocked your body, bucking your hips up at him. He following you quickly, his cock twitched, and he gave a couple more hard thrusts.
Gabriel cried out your name, followed by words in a language you’d never heard. Hot spurts of cum coated your insides, and he groaned, pressing his forehead against your chest.
The two of you lay there panting, and you relaxed into the bed, letting out a deep sigh. Gabriel rolled over to the side, pulling you into his arms. He stared down at you with dark, honey gold eyes, analyzing your movements.
“You okay, Y/N?” He murmured, pressing soft kisses to your forehead. You looked up to him, nothing but love in your expression, and nodded. You met his lips with your own, kissing him slowly.
“I love you, Gabe.” You whispered back at him. He didn’t respond, but he didn’t have to. There was no question to how he felt about you, and he had just cemented that fact. You could die happy in that moment, and he was in the same boat.

Van Helsing x Reader: Up To The Task
Word Count: tba
Warnings/Notes: mentions of an injury (not graphic), snarky banter. Gender neutral reader.
Summary: The Reader finds an injured Van Helsing. But does he want help?
Tumblr media
The night was cold, more so when a eerily gentle breeze brushed across your exposed skin. You adjusted the scarf around your neck. The temperature usually did not bother you, but there was just something particularly odd that night.
As you walked along the cobbled streets, you scarcely passed by anyone. It was late. Why would anyone be wandering around at such an hour? But you were.
Heavy labored breathing caught your attention. Whoever it was sounded tired as you approached a gap between two buildings. You slowed your pace to one of caution.
There on the ground sat a man, leaning against the sturdy wall. His head was reclined, as if looking up to the sky in a time of need. But when he heard your shoe make contact with a particularly loud spot on the ground, he noticed you.
Looking over his shoulder, you could just make out the face under the rim of his hat. The most wanted man in all of Europe. What were the odds? Though, as the situation may be, hopefully the odds were in your favor.
His eyes shifted over, catching yours. "You never saw me." Giving you a stern once over as you stepped between the buildings, he huffed to himself.
Initially, you were not going to engage, but something told you otherwise. "You're hard to miss, Mister Van Helsing." Not moving for a moment, you watched him. Analyzing. However, he made no move toward you. It went against everything you had ever heard about the man. But then again, what was the word of other people? People who had only witnessed him at a distance or not at all.
Stepping around him, you looked for the source of his visible discomfort. You followed up the length of his arm. At his shoulder, you noticed the wound. Cut through his coat and sweater, it was a nasty little gash by the redness soaked into the ripped fabric. His gloved hand pressed against it. "You're hurt."
He gave a dry laugh. "I've had worse." Smile faltering with a quiet snarl of pain.
"I'm sure you have."
Inching closer to him, you knelt down to his level. You reached out, but he made no move to stop you. Not even a glance, until he was within their reach. You moved aside his dark hair. The wavy locks distracting you momentarily. "For a terrible wanted man, you have such kitten soft hair."
Thick brows knitting together, he frowned at you. "And what do you think you're doing?"
"Helping an injured person," you said. You stilled your hand to try to get a better look at his injury. "Who...or...what caused this?"
A weak smile pulled up the corner of his mouth. "Heh...I think it's best if you didn't know."
You nodded. "Fair enough. But for now, I'm going to at least tend to those wounds. Let someone help you for a change, Mister Van Helsing."
"That would be a change... Wouldn't it?"
With his strange excuse for consent, you continued. Pushing his coat off, you tried your best to be gentle. At least he helped with meagerly shaking his arm out of the sleeve. You needed better access to reach and look at his shoulder.
Slowly, you pinched at the soft fabric. Managing to lift it out of the way, you finally got a better view of his injury. With scarce moonlight and street lamps to aid you, you peeked underneath at his skin. "It doesn't look to bad."
"It sure feels like it." He grumbled, trying to get a look at it for himself.
"I thought you said you'd had worse?." You eyed him with playful skepticism.
"That was before you touched it."
"My apologies." You said, releasing the material from the grasp.
He sucked in a breath and gave a smile. "I don't think anyone's ever apologied to me. Not that they had any reason to."
Your brows furrowed at his words. "Never?"
"No," he replied quietly.
"Hmm, well, there's always a first time for everything." Straightening up, you uncoiled your scarf from around your neck.
"I guess that's true." He eyed you then with soft confusion. "What are you--?"
Grabbing ahold of his arm, you pulled it away from his body. "Small injury or not, we can't have you with an open wound in this night air." Gingerly, you wrapped your scarf around his shoulder. Only a small muffled groan or two was kept restrained from him as you did so.
"There," you said, tucking the fabric into itself. "Now, being that it was your shoulder, I can safely assume that you can stand. Unless there's another wound that you have failed to mention."
Though he pursed his lips together, his brown eyes held no harshness. Without a word, grounded his boots and pushed himself up from the wall, taking his coat with him.
As you stood as well, you took into account his confident stature. It must have been like second nature to him. But what could have ever happened to make him as such a man?
"Satisfied?" He asked, his features becoming strikingly more playful despite his ordeal.
You gave a small smile. Fearing him did not seem possible, but there was one thing you did not think to be worried about before. The fear of being captivated by him.
"Come, Mister Van Helsing," you beckoned as you stepped around him. "Your wound needs to be cleaned and dressed."
"You're going to trust a stranger into your home?"
"You trusted a stranger to check your injury," you countered.
"Touché."

Only for you~
Lucifer x reader
fandom: supernatural
Note: in my stories "luce" is pronounced like "loose" just so you know :)
Tumblr media
When I mentioned looking at his wings he tensed up his mind was running over all the situations. The only conclusion he could think of is I would leave him.
So he denied it, "don't you think we're kind of busy right now?" He says kind of harshly. I frowned "no your right we are busy" I laughed awkwardly.
Since lucifer wasn't showing his wings maybe I could ask michael for a description.
Michael wasn't keen on the idea of telling me, "come on michael tell me!" I begged. He still said no.
I sat down in a chair right next to sam and dean "hey boys, how's it going?"
They both looked stressed "not good we can't find this crucial piece of information." Sam groans and lays his head on his arms which were folded in front of him on the table.
I frown "can I help some how?" I looked over towards dean but he was shaking his head "nothing you can do kid" I sigh and nod.
Sam and dean had left to go hunt a werewolf that has been eating elderly people. I sat in a chair off to the side in the library so as not to disturb micheal and lucifer, it's the first time they had gotten along without wanting to rip each other's throats out.
I was reading my book, as I was nearing the end of a chapter I could hear whispers. I turned the page to act like I was reading when I was actually listening.
"Just show them!" Michael harshly whispered. I heard a growl and a forced bitter laugh "you know I can't do that." Everything was silent after that.
After a while dean and sam came back, "how did the hunt go?" They smiled and hugged me. "It went really well besides the fact we almost died" dean snorts. I shake my head and nod "I'm glad you both are back in one piece" they release me and back up, my face scrunches up "you smell like a wet dog. Go take a shower."
Once they agreed and started walking towards their rooms I took my leave and started walking towards my room.
I opened my door and almost jumped out of my skin, lucifer was sitting on my bed, and was sweating profusely He looked up and rolled his shoulders.
"I need your help" he stood up and pulled me into my room before shutting the door and putting an angel banishing sigil on it. "What are you doing?" I question, he sighs and gently places his hands on my shoulders. "You want to see my wings right?" He says while looking away he seemed.
Fearful.
I nod cautiously, he sighs and pulls his hands away before walking around me towards my bed. He pulls his shirt off, he had a surprisingly toned body he wasn't a bodybuilder and wasn't exactly fat. What was the word I am looking for? Oh right.
Dad Bod. He has a dad bod, he turns and walks towards me. From where he stood in front of me I could feel his breath fan against my face, a slight minty smell.
"Don't freak out." He quietly mumbled as he covered my eyes. A bright light flashed from behind his fingers, he pulled his hand away.
I gasp as I take in the beauty of his wings. There were 3 sets of 6, the biggest were the brightest.
pink mixing with blue while fading into black due to burn damage they looked to be torn. The set below that was a mix of pink and white with small black spots, it kind of looked like a sunrise it was also burnt but it also looked torn as well. His last set was the smallest yet was still bigger than your thigh. It looked to be the worst, half of it was gone but you could tell it was gold underneath all the dirt and grime.
"They need grooming, c-can you do that?" His request went on deaf ears, I was hypnotized by their beauty.
I blink repeatedly "what?" I shake my head slightly before looking up at his face. His cheeks had a pink hue to them, he groaned and released my shoulders "listen I need help cleaning them I don't wanna have to ask michael." He crosses his arms over his chest as if a defense.
I nod "of course I would be honored too luce. I can't believe you let me see your wings." I mumbled the last sentence, not trying to be rude or suggest I wouldn't be honored to do this again.
"Only for you~" he purred out as I ran my hands through his biggest set of wings.

What Makes a Monster
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Gabriel Van Helsing x Van Helsing!Reader
Warnings: forbidden love, dubious morality, sibling incest, doubt, love
Words: 2346
Summary: You didn't like the way the cardinals would look at you when you would come back to the Vatican after months of hunting down monsters. It's like they knew something. A sinful secret.
a/n: finding old gems 🤩 completely forgot I wrote this haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You whistled out a soft tune; luring them to you. They must’ve thought that they were the hunters. Wrong. Dead wrong. (y/n) Van Helsing was not prey. You were a hunter. The predator. Your older brother taught you better than to be a meek sheep. Just like him, you hunted creatures that went bump in the night. Creatures that the Vatican deemed were risen from the bowels of hell. Only you and your brother had been brave enough to go after these hellish monsters. You couldn’t remember your life before you hunted monsters; neither could your brother Gabriel. All you have ever had were each other.
The scratching of talons along the ground alert you to what you had been tracking.
Allowing a swift breath to seep past your lips and into your lungs, you cock your gun ever so slowly and pivot on your heel.
Tumblr media
Rome’s bright sun blared down on your back making small beads of sweat rise up on your skin. You push your hood off and wipe at your forehead. Boots thudding against the ancient stone steps of St. Peter’s Basilica; a place that you had learned to call your home. At least it was the closest thing to a home you would ever have. The Knights of the Holy Order provided you and your brother a place to sleep and food to eat. That is when you were there and not traveling the world, killing monsters and exorcising ghosts and demons. You admit that you did feel a sense of relief whenever you set your gaze on the domed cathedral. It meant rest for your body, mind, and soul. And it meant that you’d be able to see your brother again. Sometimes the two of you would go months without seeing each other. A separation that nearly felt unbearable to you yet you knew it was for the greater good. You could cover more ground if the two of you hunted separately. Not seeing your only family for such a long time. . .
It made you pick up speed and quicken your steps. Your footfalls sounded like thunder as you nearly ran to the confessionals; the smell of sweet incense clinging to your coat.
You could hear the cardinal on the other side of you jump in his own box at your fervent entrance.
Taking your index and middle finger you start at your forehead, making the sign of the cross.
“Have you anything to confess like your brother, young Van Helsing?” Seems like your brother had already arrived.
“Not this time, Cardinal Jinette.” You reply with a coy smile.
He chuckles softly as you hear a faint rumbling behind you. You stand in the cramped confessional and duck your head a little so you could pass through the secret door that had just been opened. Red cardinal robes so bright even in the dark. “It’s good to see that you have come back in one piece.”
“And my brother?”
Cardinal Jinette’s smile falls and he groans. “No amount of prayers can save that one.”
You laugh. “Come now. Don’t give up faith now! He is only doing his job.”
“Recklessly.” He grumbles and slowly leads you down the dimly lit staircase that lead down into the Vatican’s underbelly. You were confident that if you were blindfolded that you could easily walk down each step without fumbling. They were as familiar to you as the back of your hand.
“You try hunting demons. It’s not as easy as riding someone of spiritual demons.”
Shaking his head the cardinal’s form bobs in front of you as he carefully takes each step down one by one. “Spiritual demons, I’m afraid, are far worse Miss Van Helsing. You can kill a physical demon. The ones in the mind are a lot tougher.” The way he looks at you makes your feel a little self conscious. As if. . .
Biting down on your lip you don’t say anything else.
Blinking lights of a multitude of burning candles brings your attention back to the hideout of the Holy Order. Priests and other holy men alike were working on new weapons as well as other plans to combat the forces of evil.
Curiously you look at the various projects, all the strewn papers and other mechanical devices that littered the tables.
“Did you remember to bring it?” Cardinal Jinette asks before letting you advance further.
With ease you flip open your satchel. “Don’t know what you plan on doing with it, but here you go.”
He peers into the bag, expecting you to pull it out yourself.
“I’m not going to touch it again. It’s blood stains.”
The cardinal calls for someone to take the bag from you, appearing a little bit pale in his complexion once the severed head of some horrid monster is retrieved out of your bag and taken away.
“Now where is my-”
“(y/n)!”
You whirl around with a wide grin. You’d know that voice from anywhere. “Gabriel!”
Gabriel Van Helsing wasn’t a man accustomed to smiling often. A serious, brooding, giant of a man who towered over you and any other man who was set before him. Face hardened from years of hunting unholy monsters. He was a wanted man in many countries; deemed a murderer from those who didn’t know about the real evils of the world. Imposing as he was, he always smiled brightly to see you alive and well. Something that all the others in the Holy Order were still not used to. You were the one who smiled easily. You could very well be serious and brooding one moment but it was fairly easy to make you laugh.
You stopped yourself from running to him, still unnerved by Cardinal Jinette’s knowing look. A look that spoke legions of secrets. Coming up short in front of Gabriel, you beam brightly up at his rugged face. His hair had grown incredibly long since the last time you saw him. Your fingers reach up to brush against a curl. Gabriel’s smile widens at the merest touch. When he realized there were others watching his gaze turns hard sending the others away.
Chuckling quietly you give a lock a playful tug making him wince slightly. “It’s good to see you Gabriel. Remind me, how long has it been?”
“As if you haven’t been counting.” Incredibly dark eyes regard you with deep adoration. It felt heavy on you making your insides flutter and warm.
“Lets go. We deserve a rest from sending creatures back to hell.” You muse.
Gabriel grunts and places a hand on your shoulder. “A well earned rest for all the work we do.” Such a strong hand that has killed many monsters; yet it’s so incredibly gentle with you.
Sometimes. . .
Tumblr media
You admire the small bruises on your body as well as the bites on your neck. Normally you revel in it more but the cardinal haunted you. Face growing numb you lean back against your headboard and turn to look at your brother, fast asleep. His long wealth of hair sprawled on his pillow. You delicately trace the arch of his upper lip; trying not to giggle at the vivid bite mark that was as clear as day on his plump bottom lip. You hadn’t meant to bite down so hard. The longer the two of you haven’t seen each other the more rough you are. Passion and longing take hold of you, fogging your brain until nothing else mattered except for Gabriel. You just couldn’t get close enough to him. Even bare skin on skin wasn’t enough for you.
Disgust bubbled inside of you.
It was disgust in Cardinal Jinette’s eyes. He knew the depths of your depravity. How, you didn’t know. You were sure the Vatican was filled with many eyes and ears. Maybe there were a pair of eyes that had watched you and Gabriel just moments ago.
Goosebumps rose on your arms at the thought of someone peeping on you during a very intimate moment. Maybe even still watching your blasphemy unfold. They probably thought you and your brother worse than any unholy monster you had killed.
You had always been emotionally tough, but knowing that what you were doing with your brother was considered wrong by the church devastated you. Choking up a bit you can’t even bare to look at him, the way he looked so at peace, so relaxed. No one else got to see Gabriel like that. So utterly vulnerable. If his enemies were to see him like this they’d take advantage of it. When he looked like that it made you want to protect him. This big man that could break anyone’s neck. A man who would look the devil in the face and kick him in the balls while laughing.
“What’s wrong?” His voice whispers without even opening his eyes.
Bringing your knees to your chest you feel the burn of the rosary at your bedside. Even the sheets under your body felt like they were on fire. Like you were already damned to hell. “They know.”
He shifts onto his side to face you, his eyes still closed and none too pleased that something was bothering you. The skin between his brows were scrunched in agitation. “Who knows what?”
“Don’t play dumb Gabriel.” Muttering you place your forehead against your knees, hiding your face in the process. You solemnly trace a long scar that started from behind your knee and wrapped around to the front of your shin. Even the pain of that wound had been less than what you were feeling now. You wanted to laugh at yourself. You felt so pitiful at that moment. One of the world’s most renowned monster hunters bested by your own emotions. Even worse was that your emotions that caused such an internal turmoil were for your brother.
You feel Gabriel shift in bed, presumably to sit up. You knew the one thing Gabriel would’ve appreciated most at that moment was to sleep. Both of you were always exhausted when you returned to the Vatican. When you went out to hunt monsters it was hard catching some shut eye. Sleeping promoted vulnerability. Especially when you were hunting down the likes of incubi and succubi.
“They don’t know. They only speculate.” Gabriel rubs at his eyes.
“They know. These holy men have eyes and ears everywhere.” A large, callused hand goes to roam the naked plane of your back. The warmth from his palm spreads throughout your skin. “Those cardinals sniff out secrets like pigs sniffing out truffles.”
A low chuckle rumbles from him. “Look at me (y/n).”
You muffle out a protest which prompts Gabriel to grab hold of your face and gently turn your head in his direction. “Right now they’re the least of our worries.”
“But-”
His thumb brushes over your bottom lip in a soothing manner that had you melting against his palm.
“As long as we do our jobs they can’t tell us anything. Do you really think they’d get rid of us because of this?”
“Well this is the Vatican, the home to one of the most holiest men in the world. The supreme pontiff, the hand of God. They don’t look kindly to incest.” Trying to reason with your stubborn brother you feel like it’s useless. As someone as devoted to the Knights of the Holy Order, when it came to you Gabriel was always willing to oversee consequences and forget everything that the catholic church taught. When it came to you, nothing else mattered. “They think we’re monsters Gabriel.”
You felt so tiny next to him as he presses his lips to the bridge of your nose before rolling his forehead onto your’s. “We know what the real monsters are (y/n). We don’t even begin to compare.”
In such an act of betrayal your eyes fill up with tears as you fought so hard to keep them out of your brother’s sight. “Sometimes I think we are. It’s not right. You know that. This. . . This. . .”
“Say it.” Gabriel orders you rather harshly. “Say what it is. Say what it is that we feel for one another.”
Your throat swelled up as you bit down on your lip and turn your face away from him. “Is it even love?”
A low growl drags through his vocal chords as his grip on you tightens a margin. “You know it is.”
“How can it be though when everyone else claims it to be a sin?” Curling up in a tight ball with the hopes of vanishing you mumble “Even the demons we hunt may think us sinful as well.”
“Do you believe any of the words that you just said?”
In all honesty you did but it didn’t change the fact that you loved your brother so dearly. You loved him more than any woman should love a man. You would go to hell for him. You would fight as many monsters as you needed to for Gabriel. You possibly would even die for him. All of this Gabriel easily read in your eyes.
He softens up at how melancholy you were. “I know what we have is inconvenient. But I don’t believe it makes us monsters. Flawed perhaps, but not monsters. Because loving someone shouldn’t make anyone a monster. We see enough ugliness in the world as it is. Don’t we deserve at least this little bit of happiness? Don’t I treat you just as well as any other man does with the woman he loves?”
Wiping away your tears you sit up. “You treat me far better than any man could ever.” You couldn’t imagine any other man treating you as Gabriel did. He worshipped every step you took and every breath that left your lips.
The two of you joined together in a mournful kiss. The cardinals could give you nasty looks all you like. This was the least they could give you for ridding the world of monsters. You knew what made a monster and your love wasn’t one of them.

Imagine: Gabriel trying to hide his feelings for you while you join to help the Winchesters' hunt.
~~~
The Impala sat on the side of the road, its occupants deep in thought.
Dean tapped the steering wheel for a moment.
"Hate to say it, but we might need another set of fists. Or at least a hunter who doesn't mind getting extra dirty."
"The last I heard (Y/N) was in this state," Sam announced from the passengers seat, "finishing up a case. Maybe with luck they haven't moved on too far."
Upon hearing the brothers mention you, Gabriel eyed them carefully.
Tumblr media
They didn't know how protective the archangel was of you and he figured it would be best if they didn't find out. For their sakes.
"Luck," Dean scoffed. "Not exactly on our side today."
From the backseat, Gabriel rolled his eyes.
"But doesn't (Y/N) go after vampires more than anything?" Sam asked.
"And they'll drive all this way to use a stake?" Dean mused.
Sighing, Gabriel muttered, "You could just call them."
"Right." The taller brother pulled out his cell phone.
Helping the two brothers a little longer didn't seem too bad, in theory, as long as Gabriel knew you would be with them. Added he could be certain you were safe.
Maybe it wouldn't be bad at all. There was always the possibility for fun.
. . .
Shutting your car door, you walked over to the the men standing beside an Impala. All three seemed pleased to see you, a familiarity in the air as you approached.
"Hey guys," you greeted warmly. "Found a mess, did you?"
"A bloody one." Dean added. "Good to see you."
You hugged Dean before stepping over to Sam.
"Hey," Sam smiled as he brought you in for a brief, light squeeze. "How was your hunt?"
"Productive and creepy." You gave each brother a knowing look. "But it's all taken care of."
"How do you feel about pale and bloodthirsty?" Gabriel inquired with a raised eyebrow, a challenge he knew you'd accept.
Looking over the archangel, you smirked. "Like I'm ready for a new case."
He matched your smirk. Body language relaxed, but holding himself back from approaching you.
"Then let's get started." Dean stated.
Tumblr media
Dean
Tumblr media
You’ve never seen a bigger shit-eating grin in all your life; he looks like he hit the jackpot.
No matter how much or how little you tell him, he won’t stop making jokes or bragging how bad you want it.
Dean I need you t- “Yeah you do.” Stop it! “Bet you weren’t saying that in your dreams last night.” *Gesturing at something even remotely suggestive* “Hey hey hey, did we do that?”
He promises to stop if you give him the full run down.
And when you do, he’s like Christmas came early.
All wide eyes and dopy smiles, occasional blushing.
He’s got a million and one questions throughout, but the final and most is obviously: “You wanna go at the real thing?”
Sam
Tumblr media
Immediate shuts down for like 5 minutes. His brain has to comprehend and then reboot.
He won’t joke or make fun of you, at least not in front of other people.
But as soon as you’re alone, he’s got questions, lots of detail-oriented questions.
He’s not outright asking what your dream was, just teasing you with meticulously detailed fantasies of his own posed as questions.
“Did I make you beg for it? Did you make me beg?” “Were you completely naked, stretched out underneath me? Were my hands around your throat?” “What did I say? Did I tell you I would ruin you? That you deserved it? Did you want me to?”
Castiel
Tumblr media
Angels don’t dream. Primarily because they don’t sleep.
So, he’s not really sure what to make of this confession at first.
Queue the signature furrowed brow and head tilt.
“Why?” I don’t know, I didn’t do it on purpose! “That’s true. I suppose this is your mind’s subconscious way of informing you that you are sexually attracted to me."
Boy, he doesn’t beat around bushes.
He would need time to stew on it from there.
It could be hours, days, maybe weeks before he brings it up again.
“I am curious about your dream.” What dr- oh right. “I am flattered. Should you be willing, I would like to discuss this more. For example, which of us…”
Gabriel
Tumblr media
You can sense the raised brows and the satisfied smirk before he even does it.
“Reeeeeally?”
Gabe’s reaction is very similar to Deans, just like a Trickster in a candy store.
Only he’ll wait to get you alone before he starts bombarding you.
If you won’t tell him outright, he’ll keep guessing.
And every new guess is accompanied by a costume and/or scenery change.
“Maybe we filmed the newest instalment of casa erotica?” “No? Maybe you paid Dr Sexy a visit?” “Mile high club?” “No? Kinkier? You into a little BDSM?”
I’ll let you fill in the visual blanks. 😉
Lucifer
Tumblr media
His reaction is a lot more subdued.
That doesn’t make it any less dubious. You can feel the smugness radiating off of him.
He’ll ask earnestly enough to start out.
“Do you want to tell me about it?”
When you refuse, he doesn’t push. Doesn’t joke, or tease.
But the smile he keeps giving you.
The way he watches you, totally engrossed but poised, is enough to drive you crazy.
When he finally asks again, later on, in that low, relaxed tone:
“Are you sure you don’t want to tell me all about your dirty little fantasies?”
Temptation really is his game.
Saving Grace
Genre; action, hurt/comfort
Word count; 2.1k
Warnings; canon typical violence, arguing
Pairing; Lucifer (Supernatural) x Reader, Gabriel (Supernatural) x Reader
The reader and Team Free Will plus Gabriel and Lucifer are outnumbered by a legion of angels. Lucifer and Gabriel decide at the same time they need to protect the reader.
Another Lucifer and Gabriel story because I love writing the two of them. This was a really fun one!
Masterlist
-
The angels were everywhere. You were trapped in a warehouse full of them, each armed to the teeth with steel and fury. Castiel’s powers were completely gone, yet he fought on beside Sam and Dean. Your own angelic blade flashed in your hand, your movements practiced and almost automatic. But you were getting tired. This fight had been going on far too long – there shouldn’t even have been a fight to begin with. With Lucifer and Gabriel in the ring, the legions you faced should have been smoke in the air by now. You couldn’t understand how the angels trying to kill you had access to their powers, but the two archangels on your own side didn’t. From their halting looks of confusion when a snap of each of their fingers did nothing, neither did they.
That left all of you fighting hand to hand, and even with six of you, there were still too many to take on. You flung yourself around towards a torn cry of Dean’s name, seeing Castiel trying to wade through the fight towards your fallen friend. You and Sam quickly followed suit, but the angels closed rank. You couldn’t even see Dean; you had no way of knowing how badly hurt he was. Your only indication was that he didn’t get back up. Distracted in trying to lay eyes on him for just a moment, you felt a searing pain across your shoulder blade and back. The wound didn’t feel too deep, but a slash from angelic steel was excruciating. You stumbled, taking a glancing blow from your left that had your feet out from under you, and there was just enough time to see you would fall directly onto the tip of another angel blade –
The air around you fell silent and still.
Your breathing was ragged, the blood on your back soaking through your shirt. You had lost your weapon somewhere in the melee, your trembling hand instead clutching cloth. Someone gripped your other wrist, deadly silent. You forced your eyes open to see what your forehead was leaning against, almost reeling back when your mind supplied a person, a man, Lucifer. His arm encircled your waist to keep you steady and a second hand alighted on your uninjured shoulder. Lucifer was watching the space directly behind you with an unreadable expression. You turned your head as much as your rattled state would allow to find Gabriel holding your arm, staring back at his brother in exactly the same way. Gabriel broke first to look at you.
“You alright?” He asked cautiously, and you didn’t miss the way his eyes caught on your back. You swallowed harshly and tried to nod. Your grip on Lucifer’s jacket tightened and you were surprised that he let you lean against him more heavily as you tried to regain your bearings.
“What happened?” Your voice was hoarse even to your own ears.
“Fight got too much.” Lucifer sounded oddly subdued, enough so that you made the effort to straighten and see his face. His gaze was unfocused, though it snapped to you as he offered a short smile. “We decided to get out of there.”
You stepped back, finally, and cast around for your friends. You recognised the rusted hallways as one of the entrances to the main floor where you had been just moments prior, but Sam, Cas, and Dean were nowhere to be found. You thought back to what had happened just before you had been teleported out, a dark pit opening in your stomach. Movements frantic now, you located your blade and snatched it up from the grimy concrete floor.
“And what, you just left them there?”
You turned quickly between Gabriel and Lucifer, imploring either of them to prove you wrong. Of course, for once, they stayed quiet.
“Oh no, no, no-”
Injured shoulder be damned, you grit your teeth and set off at a sprint, shoving between your saviours. You knew they had just watched you go without even needing to see it. You careened round a corner and took out an unsuspecting angel standing guard, then on through a set of double doors and another corner. And this time, you skidded two a halt. Ten more angels, blades ready and moving as a singe military unit stood between you and saving your friends. You thought humourlessly that if you believed God truly cared, this would have been the moment you decided to pray. Instead, you let out a roar and charged at the one leading the way, walking slightly apart from the others. Those behind her were arranged in lines of three, shoulder to shoulder and completely blocking off the corridor.
You dispatched two quickly, but that gave the others time to circle around you. You turned to face each, trying to put on a show so they would know you weren’t afraid, that you could take them. You were, and you couldn’t. And they knew it. When three came at you simultaneously, you launched yourself towards the closest one, eyes shut as you prepared for the onslaught of agony which would inevitably lead to your death.
It never came.
You slammed your hands down over your ears at the overwhelming, high-pitched ringing which split straight through your skull. Your eyes narrowed to slits at the onslaught of piercing white light, but you were even more shocked once you could see again. The expanse of a perfect white wing curled around you, protecting you from your attackers. You traced its arch back to Lucifer, who had already killed the three angels nearest to you. You turned at a cry of pain from behind you, seeing Gabriel had just about taken care of the rest. Gabriel faced you with all the self-importance of a king.
“I just dragged your ass out of there and saved your life, and this is how you repay me, with a suicide mission?!”
“We, brother,” Lucifer corrected in a low, warning tone. His wing now seemed more like it was keeping you in place, rather than protecting you from harm. Your first instinct was to lash out at them both, but you tamped down on it. You needed to be practical and Gabriel was right – you would never get to your friends in time.
“How is it that they can use their powers, but you two can’t?” The archangels stopped their fighting before it could really get under way, each giving you an assessing look. “Cas is still cut off from heaven, right? So he can’t do anything anyway. That means they’ve done something specifically to block of the power of archangels.”
You stepped back from Lucifer, gaze down, mind whirring. There shouldn’t have been anything powerful enough to tamp down on their abilities to start with, and you had never heard of anything that could filter out an archangel’s power but let through that of an ordinary angel. You thought through every sigil you had ever encountered, but not one of them fit. You couldn’t imagine it was a magical object, and even if this could be achieved with witchcraft, the angels wouldn’t deign to use it. That left –
“Got it! There’s warding somewhere, that’s blocking out most of your powers. It’ll be in Enochian, and there’s already so many angels here that I bet you weren’t able to sense it when we came in.” Again, they said nothing. “Come on, please – we need to find it before it’s too late!” They weren’t going to help. You were getting desperate, but pleading for their help had no effect. A scream pierced through into the corridor and you lost what little sense you had left. “You both cared enough to pull me out of there. If you care about me at all, you’ll help me find that warding!”
Gabriel looked from you to Lucifer, and some sort of silent understanding seemed to pass between them. You blinked and they were both gone, and moments later, so were the sounds of fighting from the main floor. Heart in your throat, you sprinted for the entrance. The corridor flew past, yet it seemed that your every step lasted a decade. Rusted old hinges shrieked when you shoved open the doors and burst into the warehouse, to find it almost empty.
Dean was curled over, just barely holding himself off the floor on his elbows. Castiel was on his knees in front of him, blade held forward defensively and his free hand behind him, hovering by Dean’s shoulder. Sam was still on his feet a few paces away.
“What happened?” Dean groaned roughly, trying to look around to see where the angels had gone. You swallowed when you realised that the shadows floating towards the ceiling and gathering in the corners of the room weren’t shadows at all. They were the dust that was left of the angels themselves.
Your steps echoed loudly as you ran towards your friends. You felt certain your relief was palpable, but the others were as wary as you had ever seen them.
“Where’d they go?” Dean tried again, slowly sitting himself up. Castiel looked as if he wanted nothing more in the world than to reach for the injured hunter and fold him into an embrace. The soft flap of wings signalled the return of Lucifer and Gabriel, and Sam took a few defensive steps forward in front of his brother.
“Ah, you’re welcome,” Lucifer intoned expectantly, staring directly at you. Castiel turned to him, saw the direction of his gaze, and leaned towards you immediately, voice urgent.
“Y/N, what did you do?”
“Nothing, Cas. It’s fine-” His hand landed on your shoulder, grip tight, as if trying to convince you of an imminent threat you didn’t believe was there.
“What did you agree to?”
“Nothing!” You took a deep, calming breath. “I realised there was some kind of warding around this place that was allowing all of the angels to access their powers, but not the archangels. You three were surrounded, and Gabriel and Lucifer found the warding, dismantled it, and destroyed the angels who were attacking us. That’s it.”
Dean groaned as he sat further up and Castiel’s concern became split between the two of you. He moved back a little towards Dean, supporting the hunter’s back even when he tried to wave Castiel away. He was too weak to manage.
“You’re not hurt,” Dean ground out, less of a question and more of a confirmation. You nodded, the yes quiet in the back of your throat. “Then what happened to you? Cause you disappeared and I thought one of ‘em had taken you down.”
You found yourself faltering. Lucifer, the devil himself, and Gabriel, two of the only four archangels to have ever existed, had decided simultaneously that your puny little human life was worth saving? You, the only human of untold billions to have lived throughout time that not one, but either of them had ever cared enough to save – you couldn’t even believe the words in your own mind. Dean prompted you again when you failed to answer and you still couldn’t come up with a reply. Aside from being unbelievable, you doubted Lucifer at the very least would want you to tell the Winchesters and Castiel of all beings what he had done, presumably on the spur of the moment. becoming uncomfortable in the silence with everyone’s eyes on you, you looked over to Gabriel for support, preferring your chances with getting help from him than his brother. He seemed to sigh silently.
“They almost did.” Gabriel watched you cautiously as everyone turned to him. “I was close enough to get Y/N out of the way in time.”
“And what about him?” Dean gave a disparaging tilt of his head in Lucifer’s direction.
“What, you thought I was just gonna let my little bro walk out of a fight without following?”
That wasn’t what had happened; Lucifer had been trying to save you too. But you certainly weren’t going to say anything, and it seemed that neither was Gabriel.
Dean still seemed suspicious, but there were other more important things at hand. Sam and Castiel helped him to his feet. Gabriel snapped his fingers and you all instantly appeared back at the bunker. Your head swirled from the chosen method of long-distance transportation and you pitched to the side, reaching out for the nearest available object to stop yourself from falling. When you straightened after a moment of regaining your bearings, it was to see Lucifer smiling smugly down at you. He held his forearm parallel to the ground in such a way that you were leaning on it without drawing anyone else’s attention. You apologised quietly and stepped back in time to see Gabriel staring at his brother yet again. Somehow, you felt sure that having gained the attention of them both couldn’t lead to a good end.
Overwatch Handholding Headcanons Part 4
Part 4 of 4
Tumblr media
Brigitte She loves to hold hands. She will always grab your hand first, her grip is firm and sometimes she will forget her own strength as she pulls you by the hand into a crushing hug as she laughs happily and holds you close. Her skin is rough, years of working with tools and swinging around heavy things no doubt.
D.va She takes your hand in both of hers. Grabbing your fingers as she grins at you, her hands feel soft but her grip is firm as she pulls you along, excited to show you something before she lets you take her hand more naturally. Fingers intertwined comfortably as you are dragged. Think of the meme that’s someone pulling you along and looking over their shoulder at you. That’s her.
Lucio He’s a good boy. The first few times he asks if he can hold your hand. He tentatively runs his fingertips down your arm, across your pulse point, feeling the rhythm of your heartbeat before he slides his palm against yours, holding your hand and smiling at you. It doesn’t take long before you realize how much he likes holding hands. Every photo of the pair of you together is him with a bright smile on his face and holding your hand in some way. He loves the connection and wants the world to know how happy you make him.
Reaper He was a different person when he last held anyone's hand. It feels like a lifetime ago now. When you go to take his hand, he jerks back, like your touch burns like fire. He sneers behind his mask, hidden eyes narrowing. He can’t understand why you would want to hold the hand of a monster. But you do, and he can’t. Not at first, not where others could see him, could see the weakness of such an act. But after a while, behind closed doors, the way he tentatively allows you to place your hand in his. Ice cold to the touch, you flinch, he tries to withdraw but you don’t let him. In time he yields, accepts, and longs for the last fleeting feelings of who he used to be.
Reinhardt His hand swallows up yours. He knows how much bigger than you he is, how much stronger too. So when he holds your hand, he laughs loud and boisterous but full of warmth as he watches your hand all but disappear when he closes his. The big grin on his face as he lets go, pushing your hands together to compare the sizes. He adores feeling big and strong, he loves to feel like he can protect you. His hands are rough, you like to trace the lines of the battle-worn skin with your fingers. He’s surprisingly ticklish.
Work sucked today.
In all honesty, a lot of things sucked today. Your alarm didn’t go off in the morning, so you were late getting out the door. You didn’t have time to eat breakfast, so you spent the first half of the day equally starving and exhausted. Your lunch wasn’t good, your coworkers were annoying, and your boss was on your ass all day long. So when the day was finally over, all you wanted to do was get home and mope.
As you entered your apartment, you let the door slam behind you in hopes it would shut the horrible day out with it. The noise echoed through the room before dissipating into the quiet space. Normally, you’d be quick to pop on some music or put something on the TV, if for nothing else but to fill the silence. However, today being the day that it had been, all you could do was throw your work bag down on the first surface you could find before flopping face-first into the couch.
With your head in the cushions, you channeled all the stress in your body into a long, low groan. The couch muffled the sound so much that if anyone had been in the room with you, they wouldn’t have been able to hear it. That didn’t stop Gabriel, who materialized in the room just as you finished letting out the noise of frustration.
“Well, that’s not the position I expected to find you in,” you heard him huff. The sound of wings had alerted you to his arrival, so you weren’t surprised when a sassy comment followed. Rather than responding verbally, and without lifting your head, you grabbed a couch cushion and sent it flying in his direction.
“Hey, what was that for?” You could practically see the expression on his face- the dramatic feigned offense you knew all too well. You rolled over so you could look at the archangel, letting half of your body hang over the edge of the couch lazily. Gabriel stood with a swagger in your living room, a familiar mischievous glint in his eyes that always left you guessing what antics he was up to. Usually, that was one of your favorite things about him. But today, you weren’t in the mood for his usual mayhem.
“Not now Gabe. I had the worst day ever.” You rubbed at your forehead as you spoke, attempting to dull the budding tension headache.
“Yeah, kid, I could tell by that growl. Why do you think I’m here?” He strolled across the room, casually plopping down next to you and kicking his feet up like he owned the place. As you sat up, suddenly conscious of the ungraceful way you were sprawled across the couch, he reached for the TV remote.
“What are you doing?” you asked, your voice coming out a little sharper than you intended.
“Whatcha wanna watch?” He didn’t even look over at you as he spoke, eyes locked on the screen.
“What do you mean?”
“Hmm… You seem a little down in the dumps, so do you want to watch something sad? Let it all out? The Notebook? Or we could do a comedy for a little pick-me-up. You know I love a good comedy. Have you seen-”
“Gabe, what’s going on?” you cut off his rambling, a bit confused by his actions. You knew angels pretty well at this point, enough to know that sitting down to watch a movie was not typical behavior. But here he was- the all-powerful archangel Gabriel, getting comfy on your couch as he scrolled through Netflix recommendations. He didn’t miss a beat in responding to your inquiry.
“You’re upset, I heard your prayer. I’m here to make you feel better. I even brought snacks!” He snapped his fingers and bowls of popcorn and candy appeared on your coffee table. You giggled a bit, in spite of yourself, but pressed on.
“But I didn’t even pray.”
The archangel huffed, his eyes pulling away from yours and settling on the ceiling as he thought for a moment.
“Look, kid. I care about you. I keep tabs. Sometimes, when your emotions are strong enough, I can hear them, even if they’re not quite a prayer. And whatever that noise was, it was loud. So we’re watching a movie and we’re having some snacks.”
You couldn’t help the smile that crept up onto your face- it was probably the only one that had been there all day. All his words were sweet, but you had gotten caught up pretty early on in his sentence- I care about you. Suddenly, a horrible day didn’t feel so bad.
“Alright. Let’s do it.”
Gabriel chose some stupid comedy movie he swore you had to see. As the opening credits began, he tossed the popcorn into your lap and settled the bowl of candy in his. There was silence for a while, save for the crunching of your snacks and the occasional giggle at a funny joke. As the plot of the movie developed, he reached across the couch in an attempt to grab a handful of popcorn.
“Come on, I can’t reach. You gotta scooch over here.”
You obliged, wiggling your way down the couch to get closer to him. At the same time, he scooched to meet you. Your legs bumped together, sending a few pieces of popcorn flying as you settled in the new proximity. It wouldn’t register in your mind until later, but the archangel never ate anything but candy. There was no reason he needed to be able to reach the popcorn- no reason besides his desire to be closer to you, and his fear of telling you that outright.
As the plot thickened, the two of you lingered in your position side by side. Your shoulders would brush together as you reached for the snacks, sending a buzz of nerves through your body each time. You locked your eyes on the movie and willed the blush away from your cheeks, but you could feel it creep back up each time you caught him looking at you out of the corner of your eye.
If there was one thing about the archangel-turned-trickster, it was that he had a good sense of humor. This movie was funny, you had to admit. Between the laughs from the jokes (both the movie's and Gabe’s), the satisfaction from the snacks, and the butterflies from being close to him, you were starting to feel the day’s stress melt away. He really knew what he was doing.
When a particular joke really got you, you threw yourself forward in a belly laugh. Too caught up in the humor of it, you completely missed what was happening behind you, until you leaned back into your seat and felt an arm settle across your shoulders. You eyed Gabriel suspiciously.
“What? Just getting comfortable, sugar.”
Suppressing the nerves the increased contact triggered, you shifted so you were snuggled into his side. The second his arm reached the rest of the way around your shoulder, finding its way to the skin of your arm to draw soft circles, any worry that was left in your body finally washed away. This was seriously bliss. Your breathing slowed and deepened, officially dragging your body out of the fight-or-flight mode it had been trapped in all day. Every muscle in your body relaxed as you reveled in the chance to be this close to the archangel.
This movie was long. In your state of relaxation, you were finding it harder and harder to pay attention to the movie, instead inching closer to sleep by the second. When Gabriel peeked down at you, watching your eyes flutter shut, he couldn’t help but smile. He pressed a careful kiss to your forehead, sealing the deal and sending you drifting off into a dream.
When you woke, hours later, it took a second for you to register where you were. Blinking your eyes open, you found yourself in your bed, down the hall from where you had fallen asleep on the couch. With Gabriel. Using your elbows to prop yourself up, you scanned the room for any signs of the archangel. He was nowhere to be seen, but on your bedside table sat a note, scrawled in handwriting you didn’t recognize.
Sweet dreams, sleepyhead. Hope you feel better. Call me whenever you need- I’ll be listening.
Love, Gabe.
Snuggling back under the covers, you let yourself drift back off to sleep, your dreams sweet and full of laughter.
